A/N: Gwen doesn't do much in this one, as it's Miles' first action. The next one will have all three Spider heroes together though.

On Monday, April 11th, in the Watson house, Mary Jane was being lead downstairs by her Aunt Anna, wearing a blindfold.
"Aunt Anna, can't you just tell me what this is all about?" Mary Jane asked.
"Sorry dear, but I can't." Anna said. "Now, relax? We're almost there."
She led Mary Jane into the sitting room, which was darkened.
"Okay, just close your eyes while I take this blindfold off?" Anna asked.
Mary Jane closed her eyes as Anna took off the blindfold, then turned on a light.
"Surprise!" people shouted.
Mary Jane opened her eyes and saw Peter, Gwen, Harry, Miles, Anya, Flash, Liz, Gloria and Randy.
"Happy Birthday!" they called.
Miles and Gloria both blew a party blower as the others clapped and cheered.
"Well, what do you think?" Anna asked.
Mary Jane smiled, remembering it was her 17th birthday today.
"I love it." she said. "Thanks, everyone."
Gloria and Anya laughed and threw glitter at her, making everyone laugh, before Peter handed her a present,
"This is from me." he said.
"Thanks, tiger." Mary Jane said, taking it.
She opened it up, and saw it was a picture of them, Harry and Gwen, all standing together.
"Oh, Peter, it's wonderful." she said, hugging him tight. "Thanks."
She kissed his cheek and pulled back, making Gwen approach her.
"That's my boyfriend, MJ." she said, teasingly.
"I know, Gwen." Mary Jane assured.
She'd soon unwrapped the rest of her presents. Gwen had gotten her a makeup kit for her acting career, while Harry had gotten her a bright red dress, while Liz and Gloria had both gotten her some jewellery, Liz a necklace, Gloria a bracelet. Flash and Randy hadn't gotten her anything expect a card, but that was because they didn't know what to get her, which she accepted. Anya had gotten her a ladies toiletry set, made up of some shampoo, shower gel, face cream, liquid soap, and mouthwash.
"Thought you might wanna smell good when you preform on stage." Anya explained.
"Well, that's very thoughtful of you." Mary Jane said.
As for Miles, he nervously handed her a small package, which she took.
"I wasn't sure about it." he said. "I only found out a few weeks ago."
Mary Jane smiled thoughtfully, then opened it up, showing it was a small box of chocolate.
"Well, you can't go wrong with chocolate, Miles." she assured. "I apricate it."
Her Aunt soon came in with her Birthday cake, which was a chocolate one, and like Peter's last one, had two candles on, shaped like a 1 and a 7.
"Well, blow them out, Mary Jane?" she said.
Mary Jane blew out the candles happily.
"Whoo!" everyone else cheered and clapped.
A while later, after they'd all eaten their piece of the cake, Peter and Gwen talked to each other quietly, as Miles stood nearby, while Harry spoke with Randy, while the other girls all chatted amongst themselves. Anna had left to go upstairs to find something, while Flash meanwhile, approached the TV and turned it, showing a News report, as a Newsman sat behind his desk.
"Hey, the News is on." he said. "There might be something regarding that guy who killed your parents, Peter."
The teens all turned to the TV eagerly, most sitting down on either the floor, with Anya, Gloria and Liz on the couch, and Mary Jane in a chair. Flash moved over to the couch and sat down beside Liz, as the Newsman began his report.
"With the recent events and criminals growing in the city..." he began.
The screen changed, showing part of a ruined building, with Daisy Johnson - wearing a black leather outfit with bits of purple on, with the ends of her hair dyed purple as well - standing near it. She helped a woman up, with Nova and Patriot flying above the ground near them - as Patriot's shield had a hover ability, which he stood on - before he jumped off it.
"...a new team of heroes known..."
Patriot helped a man up, as Nova fired beams from his hands, cutting a car door open, freeing a trapped woman inside.
"...as the Secret Warriors has been helping..."
Power Man held up a wall that was about to collapse, as White Tiger and Iron Fist helped four people away from it.
"...clean up the city."
Ms. Marvel stretched her arms out and helped lift some rubble off a trapped man with them, allowing him to get up.
A Newswoman stood with a microphone, as Nova flew off past her.
"I know what you mean, Luke." she said. "With the rate things have been going, I feel like the city - and perhaps the world - needs more heroes than ever."
A boy in black and orange, with a fire symbol on his chest, and had what looked like reddish skin, shot fired from his hands, which hit a door and burned the hatches off a door, knocking it down, then five people ran through it.
A girl with black hair, wearing the colors of the US flag, flew down towards a collapsed wall and lifted it up, freeing a trapped young boy from it, as his Mom ran towards him.
"Mom!" he cried, getting up.
He ran towards his mother and hugged her as she crouched down.
"The team has gone up with these two new members, who just recently joined them." the Newswoman explained.
Peter and Gwen smiled, as Daisy had told them both she and her team had found some more recruits themselves for their Secret Warriors team, as the media seem to have dubbed them.
"From what I've learned, these people will help the city similar to that of the Spider Duo, so far as we know." the Newswoman continued. "I hope to speak to some of them about this team."
She turned around, as Daisy and White Tiger approached her.
"Do you two have anything to say about your?" she asked.
"It's partly because of the Spider Duo I have several of my team." Daisy explained. "I'm the leader, you see."
"Oh, I see." the Newswoman said.
"That includes me." White Tiger assured. "Spider-Man saved me from doing something I would've regretted for the rest of my life. I really owe him."
Peter and Gwen smiled at each other, happy at their work.
"The Spider Duo helped recruit several of those guys?" Flash inquired.
"Sure was nice of them." Mary Jane said. "The world needs more heroes, especially after what happened the night his robots went on a rampage."
"Amen to that." Liz agreed.
"You said it." Anya agreed.
Peter and Gwen smiled at each other, happy to know what people thought of them.
"In other news, the trail over Bolivar Trask which began almost three weeks ago has been brought to a close." the Newsman said.
The screen changed, showing Bolivar Trask being led outside a courtroom by two Policemen, as people snapped photos of him.
"He has been found guilty of all the crimes he'd been accused off, and has been sentenced to life imprisonment."
The cops loaded Trask into the back of a Police van.
Everyone smiled, especially Peter, glad to know his parent's killer had been brought to justice finally.
"Well, that's good to know." Harry said. "Are you glad to hear it, Pete?"
"Oh, I am." Peter assured. "I normally don't speak ill of people, but given everything he's done, I hope he rots there forever."
"Here, here." Gwen agreed. "At least he won't be able to hurt anyone again."
Peter smiled when his phone rang, making him take it out of his pocket, seeing it was Daisy.
"I gotta take this." he said. "I'll be in the kitchen."
"Okay, Pete." Gwen said, kissing his cheek.
"Be back quick?" Mary Jane asked.
Peter smiled as he got up and then entered the kitchen and put his phone to his ear.
"Hello." he said.
"Parker, you doing okay?" Daisy asked.
"Yeah, I'm fine." Peter said. "I've just seen you and your team on the News."
"Good. I take it you saw our new members?" Daisy inquired.
"Yeah, I did, and so did Gwen." Peter assured. "What's their names?"
"Dante Pertuz, AKA Inferno, who's the boy who makes fire, and America Chavez, AKA Miss. America." Daisy explained. "Don't ask the latter's name. She didn't want to be called anything else."
"Right. But I take it there's a reason you're calling?" Peter inquired.
"Yeah. I've heard rumours about you and Gwen finding someone else?" Daisy said.
"Well, we did." Peter said. "But, there's a thing-"
"This person another Mutant like the last one?" Daisy asked.
"No. He's... He's like me and Gwen, actually." Peter explained. "We think it might be better if we train him ourselves, since he's got the exact same powers as us."
"Oh, I see." Daisy understood. "I guess it would make sense if that's the case. Well, that's the reason I called. So, till next time."
"Same here. Now I can get back to my friend's birthday." Peter said.
He hung up and put his phone away, before he turned and saw Harry approaching him.
"Who was that?" Harry asked.
"Oh, just someone from the Bugle." Peter lied. "They don't need me for anything right now, but they wanna make sure I'm available in a few days time."
"Oh, I see." Harry understood. "Come on. We're all about to play Musical statues."
"I'm right behind you." Peter said.
They both walked into the sitting room, just as Miles approaching them.
"Um, Pete, can I have a word with you alone?" he asked. "It's about, um-"
"Oh... Oh, sure. Why don't you guys just start without us." Peter said, getting everyone's attention. "We'll be outside."
"Okay, tiger." Mary Jane said. "Just make sure you're back before we start eating. Wouldn't want your pieces taking."
"We will." Peter promised.
He turned to Gwen slightly and winked, telling her what Miles wanted him for, then she nodded.
"Flash, you sure you can play, due to your leg?" Mary Jane asked.
"Nah. I think I'll be the judge and handle the music." Flash said, as he moved towards the CD player.
He sat down on the couch, then turned it on, then everyone began to dance.
A little later, Peter and Miles stood outside talking to each other, as Miles had decided to be like Peter and Gwen after they'd probably trained him; being a Spider-themed hero.
"Miles, you really sure about this after Gwen and I've trained you to control your powers?" Peter asked.
"I'm sure." Miles said. "I've idolised you both for months. I just wanna know when we start training? It's getting hard to not accidently keep my hands stuck to stuff."
"Miles, I promise you, I'll start training you tomorrow." Peter promised. "Gwen won't be able to help though as she promised to help MJ with something."
"Okay." Miles sighed.
"So, is that all?" Peter asked.
"Well, no. I also wish I knew how you guys do those webs?" Miles said. "I've been watching videos of you on YouTube, but I can't seem to get it right when I copy the movement."
He did the web movement with his right hand, but no web came out of it.
"Uh, that's because our webs aren't organic." Peter explained. "I made them myself when I got my powers, then Gwen took my spare pair."
Miles turned to him.
"Oh, well, that explains it." he sighed, relived.
"This is why we haven't started yet." Peter assured. "I'm still working on making you your set."
"Oh, I see." Miles said.
"But have you decided on your costume?" Peter asked. "You'll need it for when you go out."
"I'm... I'm still working on it." Miles sighed. "But, to be honest, Pete, I'm not much of a sewer."
"Well, if you need help, give us the design and Gwen and I'll make it for you." Peter promised.
"Really?" Miles asked, as Peter nodded. "Oh, thanks, Pete."
"It's a good thing the Easter Holidays began, which means we'll have more time to train you for now, at least until school starts again." Peter said.
"Yeah." Miles agreed. "So, shall I come by tomorrow with the design if I get it finished?"
"Yeah. Got nothing planned tomorrow unless the Bugle wants me." Peter assured.
"Okay." Miles said.
"Come on. Let's go back in and join the party." Peter said.
They both approached the house, seeing their friends shadows dancing, ready to have a good time with them today.
Meanwhile, in the Kingpin's skyscraper, Hammerhead was in an elevator, going downwards. Once it stopped, the door opened, then he entered Alister Smythe's lab, walking past a few tables and panels.
"Smythe, you here?" he called.
Alister came over towards him on his hover chair.
"Yes." he said. "What do you want?"
"The Kingpin wants to know how you're working on your new Spider Slayer?" Hammerhead asked.
"I've almost finished." Alister assured. "It'll be fully operational tomorrow."
"Good." Hammerhead said. "Kingpin's been wanting something to go right for over a year now. It's been that long since Spider-Man came onto the scene."
"I know, and with Ghost Spider around as well, it hasn't been easy for him." Alister said.
He turned his hover chair around and moved it away, as Hammerhead walked after him. They both stopped and stared at the new Spider Slayer, which was grey and resembled a Wolf Spider, and was around the same size as the Tarantula one.
"The Wolf here is a lot different than my previous ones." Alister assured. "I've built it with stronger metal. If I had this last summer when the Spider Duo planted my own bomb on the others, this one would've most likely survived intact."
"You sure of that?" Hammerhead asked.
"I assure you and Kingpin, it will." Alister assured.
Hammerhead turned to him, slightly unconvinced.
"Have it start searching the city as soon as it's operational." he instructed. "Kingpin's orders!"
"I understand." Alister said.
Hammerhead turned around and walked back towards the elevator, as Alister turned his hover chair stared at him. He then turned it back and looked up at his new Spider Slayer.
"I will avenge you, father. Soon, the city will be rid of those two menaces." he promised, even though the Spider Duo hadn't killed his father a year ago, but he didn't know that.
The next morning, Peter was having breakfast with Aunt May, when they heard a knock on the door.
"I'll get it." Peter said, getting up.
He walked towards the door, then opened it up, showing Miles on the other side.
"Miles, you're here?" he said, having expected him.
"Yeah." Miles said. "So-"
"Just wait in the sitting room?" Peter asked. "Aunt May and I are still having breakfast."
"Okay." Miles said.
He walked into the house and sat down in the sitting room on the couch, as Peter walked back into the kitchen.
"It's Miles." Peter said. "I promised I'd help him with something today, but I didn't think he'd be this early."
"Oh, okay, Peter." Aunt May said. "I'll be at FEAST today if you need me."
"I understand." Peter assured.
Once they finished breakfast, both Parkers stood by the door, Aunt May putting her coat on.
"I'll be back later tonight, Peter." Aunt May explained. "Have a good time with your friends?"
"I will, Aunt May." Peter said, before kissing her cheek. "I'll see you."
Aunt May smiled before she left the house, as Peter smiled. He soon turned and walked into the sitting room, seeing Miles standing by the fireplace, looking at the pictures of his family.
"See anything interesting?" Peter asked.
Miles turned to him.
"Yeah." he said. "I never had a chance to look at these before."
He turned back to the pictures as Peter approached him.
"I can see the resemblance you have with your father." Miles noted.
"Yeah, and in more ways than one." Peter said.
"Come again?" Miles asked, turning to him.
"Long story." Peter assured. "So, why'd you come over. I know I promised to help you today, but I didn't think this early."
"Well, Mom's got work at the hospital today and Dad's at the station, so I figured better to start sooner rather than later. I just didn't count on you getting your breakfast when I got here." Miles explained.
"Right." Peter said. "Well, let's go upstairs and we'll make a start."
"Okay." Miles said.
Once in the bedroom, Peter and Miles turned to each other.
"So, you finished your design?" Peter asked.
"Yeah." Miles said.
He put his backpack down, then took out a sketchbook from it, then handed it to Peter. Peter then opened it up, and saw Miles' suit design, which was almost like his own suit in design, with a few differences, as it was mostly black instead of red and blue. It also had a red webbing design around the mask and torso area, a big red line beneath the webbing design on the chest, stopping beneath a red spider symbol, red lines around the eye goggles, and red colored fingers on the gloves.
"Nice design." Peter admitted.
"Thanks." Miles said. "I brought the martials so you could try and work on it."
He took them out of his backpack, as well as a piece of paper.
"My size areas, just so it helps." he explained, giving it to Peter.
"Thanks, Miles." Peter said. "Okay, I'll get to work on it, then I'll bring it to you once I'm done. In the meantime, you just wait downstairs."
"Okay." Miles said.
He turned and left the room, then walked downstairs, as Peter began to design Miles his suit at his desk.
"I really hope he's up for this and he likes it when I'm finished." Peter thought.
Meanwhile, Prof. Warren was in his lab beneath his house, wearing a lab coat while analysing the animal DNA samples Black Cat had stolen for him. He was currently looking through a microscope, seeing a tiny sample of DNA from the bear, that was on a small slide.
"Hmm? Interesting." he thought.
He lifted his head up, then took the small slide from the microscope.
"Dr. Connors defiantly knew what he was doing with this animal DNA." he admitted. "I wonder why he planned to do with them though?"
He put the slide down and walked towards the stairs leading upstairs.
"If I can use these to create more creatures like Molten Man, and only I can cure them, I'll be able to obtain what I value most." he thought, walking up the stairs.
He opened the door and walked into his sitting room, before he walked towards the stairs leading upstairs.
"And hopefully, unlike with Allan, one of these foolish people might actually succeed in killing Parker." he thought, walking up the stairs.
He approached the door and opened it up, then walked into the room and turned the lights on, staring at the pictures of Gwen lustfully on the wall.
"And once Parker is out of the way, you will soon be mine, Gwen, one way or another." he smirked.
That afternoon, Spider-Man and Miles were perched on a rooftop together, Miles wearing his new suit, while Spider-Man also had a backpack on his back.
"Wow. I'll give you this, Pete, you do know how to sew." Miles said, looking at himself though a puddle.
"Thanks. And when we're in costume, it's Spider-Man or Spidey, understand?" Spider-Man asked.
"Uh, yeah. Sorry." Miles said, turning to him.
"And also, you're gonna need a name as well." Spider-Man said. "I mean, they can't call you Spider-Man too."
"Um... I'll think about that bit." Miles said. "I never thought of it before."
"Well, something will come to you." Spider-Man assured. "Ghost did after all?"
"She did?" Miles asked.
"Yeah. Spider-Woman was already taken by the time she got her powers, so she couldn't use it." Spider-Man explained.
"The Spider-Woman of the Avengers?" Miles inquired.
"Yep." Spider-Man nodded. "She called herself Ghost Spider in the end due to the way she designed her suit. Said she looks like a ghost due to the white bits."
"Oh, I always wondered why she took that for her name?" Miles said. "Maybe I'll do something similar, due to my suit being mostly black."
"Yeah." Spider-Man agreed. "Now, take your gloves off?"
Miles took his gloves off, as Spider-Man took off his backpack and opened it up. He reached into it, then took out two web-shooters like his and Gwen's, then stood up.
"These are your web-shooters." he explained, handing one to Miles.
"Whoa." Miles said, taking it. "These are what you use to you shoot your webs?"
"Yes." Spider-Man confirmed.
Miles put his right one on first, then took his left one and put it on, then looked at them both.
"I like the design." he admitted.
"They're not too different from mine and Ghost's." Spider-Man explained.
He took off his left glove and showed his web-shooter to Miles.
"Oh, I see." Miles said.
They put their gloves back on, then Miles looked around.
"So, where do we start?" he asked, turning to Peter. "I mean, I've practiced crawling along the walls when my parents have been out, so I know I need to keep my clam when doing it."
"Well, yes, you do." Spider-Man said.
He reached into his backpack again, then took out a belt like his and Gwen's.
"You better put this on too." he explained, handing it to Miles.
Miles took it and looked at it.
"It's filled with spare cartridges for your web-shooters." Spider-Man explained.
"Run out?" Miles inquired. "You mean-"
"Yeah. Ghost and I always have to reload when we run out, which is why we need these." Spider-Man explained.
"Okay." Miles said. "But, could you give me a hand putting it on?"
Spider-Man nodded and lifted his shirt up, then Miles put the belt on around him, before Spider-Man lowered his shirt.
"So, you ready to start?" Spider-Man asked.
"Oh, yes." Miles said. "I'm ready, Pe- I mean, Spidey."
Spider-Man sighed and picked up his backpack, then led him to the edge of the rooftop, standing near it. He looked around for a minute, seeing a building taller than the one they were on on their right.
"Okay, now you see that building over there?" he asked, pointing at it.
"Yes." Miles said.
"Well, I want you to do what I do?" Spider-Man explained.
Miles nodded, then Spider-Man shot a web at the building, hitting it, then Miles did the same thing, his landing slightly beneath Spider-Man's. Spider-Man then jumped off the rooftop and swing towards the building, while Miles watched.
"Here goes nothing." he thought nervously.
He jumped off the rooftop and swung after Spider-Man.
"AHH!" he yelled.
Spider-Man landed on the side of the building, then turned as Miles swung towards him, who then crashed into the wall.
"Oh!" he moaned.
Spider-Man grabbed him as he began to fall, then helped him stick to the wall.
"Thanks." Miles said.
"Come on, let's get to the roof." Spider-Man said.
They both climbed up to the rooftop, then Miles fell to his knees, as Spider-Man turned to him.
"You okay?" Spider-Man asked.
"Yeah, but... I feel sick." Miles said.
"Well, don't do it in your mask?" Spider-Man advised.
Miles raised his mask up to his nose, then looked like he was gonna be sick, but nothing came out of his mouth.
"Did you or Ghost suffer like this first time?" he asked.
"No." Spider-Man said. "I'll tell you this though; Ghost used to be scared of heights until she started web-swinging. You'll get used to it."
"I hope so." Miles said. "If you trained her too, I guess-"
"I didn't train her." Spider-Man said.
Miles looked confused, as the eyeholes on his mask lowered.
"I trained myself, and well, she did the same." Spider-Man explained. "By the time we told each other who we really are, we were already well trained."
"Oh, right. So, I'm basically your first student?" Miles inquired, folding his arms.
"Yes." Spider-Man said.
"Well, if that's the case, I'll understand if you're a terrible teacher, along with Gwen." Miles said. "I mean, Ghost. Sorry."
"Uh. Just try and remember no real names if we're in public?" Spider-Man asked, touching the area between his eyes on his mask.
"Sorry." Miles said.
"Okay, you ready for another go?" Spider-Man asked. "I assure you, it will get better."
"I'll take your word for it." Miles said. "And, just give me a minute?"
He turned around as Spider-Man folded his arms and stared at him.
Two hours later, in Kingpin's skyscraper, Alister was in his lab, looking at his completed Wolf Spider Slayer, when Kingpin and Hammerhead came out of the elevator behind him.
"Have you finished your work, Alister?" Kingpin asked.
"Oh, I have." Alister assured. "It's fully operation and ready."
He moved his hover chair back as they all looked at it.
"Impressive design." Kingpin remarked. "For your sake, I hope it works better than your previous Spider Slayers."
"Oh, I assure you, the Wolf won't fail you like the previous ones." Alister assured. "I've built it with a stronger metal alloy, that hopefully make it harder for the Spider Duo to destroy it like my previous ones. And, I've made sure to install extra firepower in it, to counter their every move."
"That's why you've been monitoring their fights over the past several months?" Hammerhead inquired.
"Yes. The Wolf will be able to withstand anything they throw at it." Alister assured.
"Well, why aren't you setting him loose to find them?" Kingpin asked.
"Because I need to be near the monitor screen, showing Spider Seekers cameras, so I can monitor it's movements." Alister explained.
"He's does have a good point, Boss." Hammerhead reasoned.
"Fair enough." Kingpin said. "I'll give you half a dozen Spider Seekers to help you in this."
"Thank you." Alister said. "I'll launch Wolf in half-an-hour, 'cause by then, I'll be prepared and ready."
"Good." Kingpin smirked, cracking his knuckles. "I'm looking forward to finally seeing the Spider Duo meet their end."
He and Hammerhead grinned, as Alister looked at his new Spider Slayer.
An hour later, Spider-Man and Miles were both swinging through the city, currently in Times Square, before they landed on a rooftop near the big one with the neon signs.
"Well, how you like web-swinging so far?" Spider-Man asked.
"I feel...dizzy, to be honest." Miles said. "But I'm not sick as I was back then."
"I told you you'd get use to it." Spider-Man assured. "As for your gilding, I think we'll save that for another day. One step at a time."
"Okay... Wait, gilding?" Miles questioned.
He looked at the gilder wings under his armpits on his suit.
"Is that what these are for?" he asked. "I didn't put them in my design."
"Yeah. Sometimes when we run out of webbing, we need something to slow our decent to make sure we don't crash and hurt ourselves." Spider-Man explained. "They've come in handy plenty of times."
"Uh, right." Miles said.
They both turned to the city, seeing cars moving along the streets.
"Man. I never knew how amazing the city looked from up here." Miles said.
"Ghost said the same." Spider-Man said. "There's times when the two of us just sit and watch the city whenever it's quiet."
"Some romantic dates?" Miles questioned. "I'm surprised the media hasn't found out you two are more just partners."
"To be honest, so are we." Spider-Man admitted. "We can only imagine what Jameson would say if he found out."
"I wonder why he can't see you two like the other reporters." Miles said. "Calling you menaces and all that after all you've done."
"Years ago, some men in masks killed his wife." Spider-Man explained. "He's had it out for people with masks ever since."
"Oh..." Miles said.
"Still, there's people out there he thinks that are worse than us." Spider-Man reasoned.
"Well, that's good to know." Miles said.
They both turned to the main neon sign, when Jameson's news broadcast came on.
"This is J. Jonah Jameson reporting. We have a situation developing in Midtown East." Jameson reported.
The screen changed, showing the Wolf Spider Slayer rampaging through a street in
"Not another Spider Slayer!" Spider-Man exclaimed. "I thought Smythe gave all that up?"
Wolf Spider moved down the street, stopping near a bunch of apartment buildings in Lexington Avenue.
"Whoever created this thing is probably the same guy who created the previous Spider Slayer robots that rampaged all through the city last summer." Jameson reported. "And I know for a fact it's not the Spider Duo like I hope, because those things ended up capturing them last time."
Both Spiders turned to each other, Miles looking confused.
"Who's Smythe?" he asked.
"It's a long story." Spider-Man assured.
"Well, we gotta get over there and stop it." Miles said.
"You're still new at this!" Spider-Man argued. "I'm gonna call Ghost."
He touched the side of his mask.
"So that's what the built in phone's for; so we don't have to get our phones out if we need to call each other?" Miles realized.
"Exactly." Spider-Man said. "That comes in handy quite a bit, especially when we have to split up.."
"Well, that's good to know." Miles said.
"Ghost, come in?" Spider-Man asked. "We've got something going on in Midtown East. Can you help?"
"I'm nowhere near that area." Gwen replied regretfully. "It'll take me hours to get there. Like it or not, you're either on your own or you take Miles with you. I'm sorry, Pete."
"Okay. Thanks, Ghost." Spider-Man said, lowering his hand. "She's nowhere near the area. We're a lot closer."
"Let me help then?" Miles asked. "I know the area as I lived there when I was little."
"You sure you can remember it after all this time?" Spider-Man asked.
"I'm positive." Miles assured.
"Okay... But you do exactly as I say when we get there, understand?" Spider-Man asked.
"You got it." Miles understood.
"Right. Let's go." Spider-Man said.
They both jumped off the rooftop and began to swing off towards the area.
In Midtown, the Wolf Spider Slayer was marching down a street, scaring people away, as others hid in the buildings and alleys.
(Kingpin's Skyscraper)
Alister watched his robot's movements from a camera in its eyes.
"Come out, come out, wherever you are, Spider Duo?" he muttered.
(The city)
The Wolf Spider stopped and looked around.
Nearby, the two Spiders both landed on a rooftop behind the Wolf, looking at it while perched down.
"Well, there it is." Miles said. "So, let's do it."
"Wait?" Spider-Man said, touching his shoulder. "Wait till I've given you the signal. If Smythe's watching this, I think it's better to shock him by you arriving when I say. Just stay hidden until I say so."
"Okay." Miles said.
Spider-Man jumped and gilded down towards the street, before he landed on his feet.
"Looking for someone?" he asked.
The Wolf Spider Slayer turned around and stared at Spider-Man.
"Ah, Spider-Man." Alister said. "Good to see you again."
"Did you miss me that much?" Spider-Man joked.
"I've been waiting for this moment for a long time!" Alister snarled. "I've been working on this since you and Ghost Spider destroyed my previous Spider Slayers!"
(Kingpin's Skyscraper)
Alister noticed Ghost Spider wasn't with him.
"Where is your partner anyway?" he asked. "I was hoping for both of you."
"Oh, Ghost's busy right now, but I'm not alone, Smythe." Spider-Man joked.
(The city)
Miles smiled under his mask before he swung down towards Spider-Man, landing beside him.
"What?" Alister exclaimed. "Who is that?"
"Meet the newest Spider hero." Spider-Man joked.
(Kingpin's Skyscraper)
Alister snarled. "Kingpin's not gonna like this." he thought.
(The city)
"This might not be what I expected, but you're both going down!" Alister roared. "I'll deal with Ghost Spider later!"
The Wolf Spider moved its front left leg up, then moved to hit both the Spiders with it, but missed as they jumped away.
"Whoa!" Miles yelped.
He stuck to a wall and crawled around it slightly, while Spider-Man landed on a lamppost, both staring at it.
"Okay, not good." Miles gulped.
Spider-Man jumped off the lamppost and gilded down towards the Wolf, landing on its back, perched down. The Wolf moved around and shot lasers from its mouth at Miles, who gasped and jumped off the wall.
"Ah!" he yelped.
He managed to land on his feet, when his Spider-Sense tingled, shocking him.
"Huh?" he muttered.
He looked around slightly, as rubble began to fall from the wall towards him, as Spider-Man's Spider-Sense tingled, making him look up.
"Look out!" he yelled.
Miles turned around and saw the rubble falling towards him.
"AH!" he yelped.
He dived forward before the rubble could hit him, missing it by inches, then he landed on his chest.
"Phew. That was close." Miles thought, turning around.
The Wolf turned as Spider-Man banged his fist on its back, but didn't even dent it.
"AH!" he moaned, shaking his hand. "I see you've made the armour stronger, Smythe."
"You're not destroying the Wolf like you did with the rest!" Alister roared.
The Wolf rose up on boosters beneath it, then spun around quickly, sending Spider-Man flying off it.
"AHH!" he yelled.
He hit the ground on his back hard.
"OH! O-kay, now that really hurt!" he moaned, rubbing his head.
He pulled himself up, as the Wolf turned to him, but then neither noticed Miles was around.
"Looks like your new partner's chickened out." Alister joked.
Spider-Man looked around, seeing a faint movement that looked invisible crawling up a wall.
"Is that...?" he thought.
His Spider-Sense tingled, making him look up, seeing the Wolf moving its front right leg towards me.
"Whoa!" he yelped.
He back flipped away and landed on the wall, sticking to it, then he shot webs at the Wolf, which just fell off it.
"Huh?" he gasped.
"Okay, I forgot to tell you. The alloy I made the Wolf with is made up of something your webs can't stick to." Alister smirked.
"Thanks for the news!" Miles yelled.
Spider-Man looked up as Miles dived towards him, turning visible as he did, before he landed on the Wolf's back.
"Where'd you come from?" Alister demanded. "I thought you ran for it!"
"No, I didn't!" Miles argued.
He moved to punch the Wolf, but the Wolf grabbed him with one of its right legs as his Spider-Sense tingled, then threw him away.
"AH!" he yelled.
Spider-Man jumped off the wall and swung towards him, catching him.
"I gotcha!" he said.
He swung off with Miles and then landed on a rooftop with him, out of sight of the Wolf.
(Kingpin's Skyscraper)
"AHH!" Alister growled, hitting his hover chair. "Where'd you go?"
(The city)
Both Spiders were crouched down behind a small wall on the edge of the roof.
"You okay?" Spider-Man asked.
"Yeah. What happened?" Miles asked, rubbing the back of his head. "He sounded like he didn't even see me coming when I landed on his robot?"
"Well, you turned invisible. I saw a glimpse of you climbing up the wall." Spider-Man explained. "That's something me and Ghost don't have. It's why he didn't see you coming."
"Cool." Miles said. "I really caught him with his pants down."
"Yeah, you did." Spider-Man agreed. "But we've got a problem. He's made his robot out of an alloy our webs won't stick too."
"I know." Miles said. "I may not be a scientist like you and Ghost, but I do believe in stuff I see, and I saw that."
"Oh, good to know." Spider-Man said.
He peeked over the wall, seeing Wolf still looking around.
"If we're gonna stop this guy, we've gotta play it smart." he said, turning to Miles.
"So, no rushing in blind?" Miles assumed.
"Yes." Spider-Man said.
They both peeked over the wall and looked around, before they spotted a fire hydrant nearby.
"I have an idea." Spider-Man said.
"Well, I'm all ears." Miles said.
"You see that fire hydrant?" Spider-Man asked, pointing at it.
"Yeah." Miles said.
"Well, if we pop it, and send electricity from a power line at the water..." Spider-Man began.
"It might short-circuit it." Miles finished. "I've seen stuff like that work on TV."
"Okay. I'll handle the fire hydrant while you keep it busy." Spider-Man said.
"Why me?" Miles asked.
"Because it's my idea." Spider-Man said. "So just do it."
"Okay." Miles sighed.
They both jumped off the rooftop and Miles swung towards the Wolf, as Spider-Man glided down towards the fire hydrant. He landed near it, then looked up as Miles swung forward and landed right behind the Wolf.
"Hey, over here!" he called.
The Wolf turned around, seeing Miles, but then spotted Spider-Man near the fire hydrant, then the power lines.
(Kingpin's skyscraper)
"They really think I'm gonna fall for that?" Alister smirked. "Ha. I'd be pretty stupid to do that."
(The city)
The Wolf slowly approached Miles, before they all heard a noise.
"Huh?" Spider-Man muttered.
He and Miles watched as Wolf turned around completely, seeing Sgt. Davis directing people away behind him.
"Come on! Come on!" he yelled, as people ran past him.
"What's Dad doing here?" Miles thought. "Oh, he must've been on patrol nearby."
Sgt. Davis turned around as he heard a noise, seeing the Wolf had come closer to him.
"Oh, crud!" he gulped.
"Ah!" Miles gasped.
Spider-Man panicked, before he spotted another fire hydrant right near the other end of the street near the Sgt.
"Guess I'll have to use that one." he thought.
He jumped up and swung off towards it, as Miles jumped up and landed on a lamppost. He turned and saw Spider-Man swing past him, before landing near the other fire hydrant, then turned back to his Dad.
"Whatever you are, you cannot do this!" Sgt. Davis roared.
"Stay out of this, Cop!" Alister roared. "This doesn't concern you!"
Sgt. Davis backed away slightly, seeing the Wolf's eye lasers powering up.
"Not good." he gulped.
He turned around and ran off, just as the Wolf fired its lasers, hitting the ground and knocking him up.
"NOOO!" Miles cried.
Sgt. Davis somersaulted through the air, and hit the ground on his back, out cold.
"AHHH!" Miles growled, charging at him.
"Wait, no!" Spider-Man called. "Stick to the plan!"
The Wolf Spider Slayer turned around as Miles kept charging at him.
"You think you can stop me?" Alister laughed. "You don't stand a chance!"
The Wolf fired lasers from its eyes at Miles, who jumped towards it, landing on its back and touching it with his right hand, before he suddenly shot electricity through it, as Spider-Man watched.
"Oh! He gets a Venom Blast too!" Spider-Man complained. "I'm gonna have to ask Jess for a favour."
"NOOO!" Alister cried.
"What?" Miles gasped.
"It's now or never!" Spider-Man thought.
He punched off one of the oval caps on the fire hydrant, shooting water out of it, which hit the Wolf.
"AHH! What's happening... to...!" Alister roared.
Miles looked up at the water as he kept his electricity on the Wolf, seeing it was working, along with Spider-Man.
"Water and electricity never mix." Spider-Man joked.
The Wolf completely lost power and fell onto its chest, before electricity began to come out of it, and not just from Miles.
"Oh, not good!" he gulped, noticing it.
"Get outta there!" Spider-Man yelled.
Miles nodded, not needed to be told twice, then he jumped off the Wolf and web-swinged over towards Spider-Man, just as the Wolf exploded, creating a fire in the street. Both Spiders turned and began climbing up the wall, stopping halfway up.
"Phew, that was close." Miles said.
They both turned and sat on the wall.
"Good thing there's no one near it right now." Miles said.
"Yeah. Nice work." Spider-Man remarked.
"Thanks. But what was that electric thing I did?" Miles asked.
"A Venom Blast." Spider-Man explained. "And before you ask, Ghost and I don't have that either, but we know someone who does."
"O-kay..." Miles muttered. "Man, I've got more powers than you two have?"
"Yeah." Spider-Man said, as they stared at the Wolf's remains. "This means training you is gonna be harder than we thought."
In the Kingpin's Skyscraper, Alister turned around from a big screen, as Kingpin and Hammerhead came towards him.
"Your new Spider Slayer failed, Smythe!" Kingpin roared. "You better have a good explanation?"
"I do, Kingpin." Alister assured. "But, you better see for yourself. Good thing I recorded what the Wolf had done and what had happened."
He pressed some buttons on his hover chair, then turned it around, as the screen came on, showing the battle.
Spider-Man stared at the Wolf Spider Slayer, when Miles landed beside him.
"Another Spider?" Hammerhead exclaimed, as Alister stopped the recording.
"What? Where did he come from?" Kingpin demanded.
"I have no idea." Alister assured. "Ghost Spider wasn't even there. Spider-Man said she was occupied. But there's more."
"What?" Kingpin asked.
"This new Spider has powers the first two don't have." Alister explained. "He can turn himself invisible and shoot electricity out of his hands, which was what caused Wolf to fail, while hitting it with a bunch of water."
"Ah!" Kingpin growled.
He turned around and walked off in a huff.
"Starting out with Spider-Man alone was bad enough, then Ghost Spider came along. Now we have a third Spider out there!" he exclaimed angrily. "Just how many Spiders is this city going to have? They're starting to multiply like mice!"
He roared angrily as he punched a wall, creating a hole in it, as Hammerhead and Alister stared at him.
"You've got reason for failing this time, kid." Hammerhead said, turning to Alister. "Since this new Spider's got powers the first two don't have, you couldn't have known what was gonna happen. You better have more luck next time, kid."
He walked off after his Boss as Alister stared at him.
Back in Midtown East, Miles stood on a rooftop, staring down at the street the fight had been, staring at ambulance as his Dad got loaded into it, when Spider-Man came up behind him.
"You okay?" Spider-Man asked.
"No. I'm worried about my Dad." Miles said. "I... I wish I'd gotten to him sooner."
"That can't be helped. Ghost would probably feel the same if it was her Dad." Spider-Man said. "Besides, you did good for your first mission."
"Thanks." Miles sighed. "I hope my Dad makes it. If I had a hand in getting him killed, I'd never forgive myself."
Spider-Man looked at him, knowing how he felt, due to his Uncle Ben, before the ambulance began to race off.
"Let's go to the hospital and check on him." he said. "Might make you feel better."
Miles turned to him. "Thanks. Let's go." he said.
Both Spiders jumped off the rooftop and began to swing after the ambulance.
To be continued...
