Curse of Time

I have friends looking after me without even my knowledge

Blake Belladonna wasn't like the rest of her friends.

She understood Jaune desire to sacrifice himself to save his friends, after all, she almost did the same.

Blake was ready to take the weapon herself to save her team leader life, but Jaune beat her to it.

The disbelief turned to relief and then morphed into disgust and angry on herself for feeling the relief.

After the everafter, Blake felt guilty towards Ruby, she took Yang attention which lead to Ruby being pushed away.

They made up, but the guilty still lingered.

She sighed as she arrived at her own Room.

She still couldn't believe they've done it, they have won, but at what cost.

She looked at the letter on her desk, it has been there since Oscar gave it to her, it was clear, Jaune wrote the letter.

His handwriting, an obvious indication, but the more obvious was the letter had a black seal with the Arc family symbol.

She wasn't that close to him, but the death of Winter, Sun, and Jaune hit them all equally.

She sighed again and took the letter, she opened it carefully and slowly so not to damage it.

Greetings Blake.

If you're reading this, I'm probably dead, which considering the state of the world right now, isn't a surprise.

If by any chance I was successful with my own mission, Ruby should still be alive, same with everyone.

I left letters to all of our friends as a final goodbye.

I would have apologized for this, but I know I'm not, and you of all people know this too.

You had the same idea as me, I saw you planning the route to get the weapon before Ruby and without Yang seeing.

Got to say I didn't expect it from you.

You were always the quiet one among team RWBY, and a little intimidating, if I say so myself.

But I discovered you had a heart of gold even before we actually got close.

You think I didn't notice, but I did see you cutting Cardin off from bullying me when I wasn't aware.

And that one time I caught you, you acted like it was an accident.

You have no idea how happy that made me, knowing I have friends looking after me without even my knowledge.

Anyway, I wanted to say that I know everyone will be a mess right now, and I know Ruby will take it the hardest, alongside Ren and Nora.

So if I may ask, could you help them, Yang will try to cheer Ruby up, ignoring her own feelings.

And we both know that Yang wouldn't care about herself when Ruby is involved.

So if you could also look after her, she'll act tuff and unbreakable, but she isn't.

After the Haven fight, she couldn't look at you, I met her in Haven sparing room training alone.

We talked for a bit, she thanked me for helping Ruby.

Then she started talking about how she doesn't know how to approach you after everything.

That she got so focus on helping others she forgot herself.

So if you can be there for her.

I know you're all about faunus equality, so you can definitely use the rusted knight as a tool to help with anything.

I'm sure the legendary hero will help give faunus the courage they need to find equality, and shut anyone who fight against it.

Damn you lewis for overhyping a guy in armor with a sword.

But hey, a lot of people got inspired by it so, the thought of me inspiring generations of huntsmen is just unreal, and probably untrue.

Thank you for reading this, Blake, and thank you in advance for helping the others.

With Love.

Jaune Arc

"What an idiot" she said, her eyes watering.

"So what?, you think just because we weren't that close I wouldn't mourn you" she asked the letter.

"And why do you even ask, of course I would look after them, they're like a second family to me."

"I know we weren't the closest, but-" she sighed.

"Thank you Jaune, for taking those actions, for saving Ruby"

"I'll use your name in good will, I'm sure everyone would love to hear the actual rusted knight was the weakest in his class" she chuckled.

"Ozma said there is an afterlife, hopefully not the everafter, so we'll meet again, and when that time comes, I'll tell you how much we've achieved thanks to your sacrifice".

She laid the letter on her desk, her head fallen on her pillow.

It was already late at night, her friends were grieving.

But come the morning, all of them would have the chance to read his final words.

Then she'll stand with them, they all were grieving, even her.

They had each other to rely on.

They were friends.

They were a family.

And family sticks togather.

Note: hello there, surprisingly, Blake was easy to write, easier than Yang's.

But now I get to write Oscar, Qrow, Arc family (only his sister) then the Mystery chapter for a special guests.

I'm enjoying myself writing this, and I'm glad people liking it.

please if you have an advice, idea or anything you want to say, leave a review.
