A/N: This is the start of a two-part team up with Daredevil.

Gwen and Miles don't suit up in this part, while Peter and Anya get to have the action with him.

In the city, in the afternoon of Saturday the 26th of June, Peter and Anya were both walking down a street together in Midtown, as Gwen and Miles were both at FEAST helping out. Gwen was there as she was filling in for someone who was sick, while Miles was there to help his Mom out, leaving Peter to train Anya by himself for the day. After spending most of the day training, they found a place to change, as they'd decided to get something to eat now, and Anya didn't want to do it in costume.

Since she'd joined the Web-Warriors, Peter and Gwen had told her about some of their previous adventures, just like they had with Miles, and had also told them about all their hero friends, especially Jessica Drew, as she was one of them.

"I still can't believe you let that guy go." Anya said, remembering how Peter told her his origin when she first entered their base.

"I know. That's the worst mistake I've ever made." Peter sighed. "Letting that guy go so he could kill my Uncle."

"Peter, what happened to your Uncle wasn't your fault." Anya said. "You could never have known that man was gonna kill him."

"I know, but if I could take back what I did then, I'd do it in a heartbeat." Peter assured. "It's the one thing I'll never forgive myself for knowing I could've prevented my Uncle Ben's death when I had the chance."

Anya touched his shoulder, feeling sorry for him, and also because she'd gotten a better understanding as to why he and the others do their hero stuff. As she'd only been officially part of the team for a fortnight, she hadn't been trained much like when Miles was now, unlike when he joined, but she understood why. As Summer vacation had just begun yesterday however, it would mean the four of them would have more time to train together, which Anya was happy and pleased with.

"I'm sure if your Uncle was here, he'd be proud of you." she said, as they turned right down the street.

"I hope so." Peter sighed.

"Um, you know, do you mind of I ask you something?" Anya asked.

"Sure." Peter said.

"What was your Uncle's job before he died?" Anya asked. "Or was he-"

"He was an electrician, but he got laid off a few months before he died." Peter explained. "Not that it wasn't his fault, as quite a lot of the older staff were let go as their Boss thought they were getting senile."

"Okay, that's horrible." Anya said. "When I saw your Uncle's grave last February, it said he was only in his early 50s, not old enough to retire-retire. And your Aunt May's around her the same age."

"I know." Peter said. "Not that my Uncle wasn't given a small retirement fund, but by the time he died, most of it had been used up."

"Hence why you took that job at the Bugle to help your Aunt May out?" Anya finished.

"Yes." Peter sighed.

They both stopped by a stand, seeing a bunch of issues of the Daily Bugle lying there. On the front page, had a picture of the four Web-Warriors all fighting Doc Ock, who'd managed to escape as they tried to stop him stealing science equipment. The title said Web-Menaces aid Ock in stealing science equipment.

"I can't believe you let Jameson print this stuff about you all." Anya frowned, turning to Peter. "And well, now me."

Peter turned to her, for Spider-Girl had made the News quickly since the Grand Central Station incident, and everyone in the city now knew there were five Web-Warriors, as people often added Spider-Woman to the list too, due to the times she'd teamed up with them all.

"Well, when I first started looking for jobs to help my Aunt May, it was the only one I could find that I could do without having to blow off in case trouble happened." Peter explained. "And well, no other Newspaper put out an add."

"Oh." Anya said, as they walked off. "Well, I can understand that. If no one else put out an add, you would go there."

Peter nodded as they kept on walking.

"Jameson may hate us, but he's still got a heart." he said.

Anya looked confused, before Peter told her about what he and Gwen had found out after their first fight with Scorpion, on the day she first met them. He then went on to tell her that several villains they've encountered, like Scorpion and Venom were worse than they were.

"Oh... So, since his wife was killed by a man in a mask, he's come to hate anyone like that?" Anya inquired.

"Yes." Peter nodded. "And besides, when my Aunt was in the hospital, he gave time off, and when-"

"When we all visited your Uncle's grave that day." Anya recalled. "I can remember Randy saying his Dad told you that."

"Yeah. And anyway, despite that, I've become friends with some of the staff there." Peter said.

"So, you wouldn't transfer to the Globe or another paper?" Anya inquired.

"Not without good reason." Peter said.

Anya put her hand on her chin, thinking as they both kept on walking, when they heard a noise up ahead. They both ran down the street, then turned left and saw - to their shock and confusion - Sgt. Davis getting handcuffed by four fellow Cops, including Blake and Hoffman.

"What are you doing?" Davis asked.

"Zip it, Davis!" Blake said harshly. "You're under arrest for selling Police secrets on the black market!"

"But I'd never do that!" Sgt. Davis argued. "I swear-"

"Save it for the jury, traitor!" Hoffman snarled.

They both shoved Sgt. Davis into the car, before they got into the front of it, making Peter and Anya turn to each other.

"Okay, what was that about?" Anya asked.

"I have no clue." Peter said. "They said something about traitor, but I doubt Miles' Dad is capable of that."

"I agree." Anya said. "So, what do we do?"

Peter took out his phone and dialled a number, as Anya looked at him.

"Who you calling?" she asked.

"Jess." Peter answered, as Anya had been told about her since joining the team. "If Miles' Dad is being framed, he's gonna need a good lawyer, and she knows someone."

"Okay. I'll call Miles and let him and Gwen know." Anya said. "Better to hear it now then later on the News."

Peter nodded as she took out her phone to call him.

A few minutes later, Peter was still on the phone when Anya put hers away.

"I've let them both know." she explained. "Any luck."

"Jess is checking in now." Peter explained.

Anya folded her arms as she looked at him, before he frowned.

"Wait, what do-" Peter said. "Oh, she's away in Washington? Well, does she know someone who can?"

Anya flinched slightly, looking confused.

"Okay. Can you have him meet us tomorrow then?" Peter asked. "Fine, thanks."

He hung up and put his phone away before he turned to Anya.

"So...?" Anya said.

"Hulk's cousin's away on assignment, so she's out." Peter sighed.

"Wait, Hulk has a cousin who's a lawyer?" Anya inquired.

"Yes. She does have a friend who might take this case on. Jessica's gonna check with him now." Peter explained.

"Okay. You seriously need to tell me about your hero friends." Anya said.

"I promise I will later." Peter said. "I just hope for Miles' sake this lawyer can clear everything up."

"Well, that's better than nothing." Anya said.

Meanwhile, Richard Fisk was riding in a limo, on the phone with his father.

"I've received a text from Blake, and he and Hoffman have now arrested the Cop." he explained.

"Excellent work, Richard." Kingpin remarked. "How much evidence have they put against him?"

"Enough to ensure he'll spend the rest of his life in jail." Richard explained. "I'm afraid there's no death penalty around here."

"That I know of." Kingpin assured. "Still, we'll make sure he spends the rest of his life in the most secure jail in the state. When does his trail begin?"

"From what I've gathered, three days time." Richard answered. "Since Summer vacation's just started, it's bound to ruin his son's time off school."

"Indeed it will." Kingpin agreed.

"Have you managed to get hold of Wesley?" Richard asked.

"Oh, I have. He'll be prosecuting that cop once the trail starts." Kingpin said. "With all the evidence against him, I doubt he'll be found innocent."

"Good to know, father." Richard said. "I'll call you if I get more news."

"Good." Kingpin said.

They both hung up, before Richard put his phone down and smiled happily, glad to know his plan was working.

The next morning, Miles was inside the Police Station Capt. Stacy controlled, sitting with his mother, Peter, Gwen and Anya. After getting Anya's call, he and his Mom had both been shocked, and Gwen, Aunt May and several others did offer their sympathy, but they were still shocked.

"I still can't believe Dad's been locked up for treason." Miles muttered.

"Me neither." Rio sighed. "That doesn't sound like him at all."

Miles looked up at his friends, all of them having the same look on their faces, as they were all puzzled and confused.

"Anya, what exactly did you and Pete see?" he asked.

"Well, all we saw was a few Cops dragging your Dad towards a car." Anya explained.

"Yeah, but here's the thing, they wouldn't even let him talk." Peter recalled. "They acted pretty rude towards him."

"They did?" Gwen questioned, turning to them. "They just threw him away like dirt for no reason at all?"

"No." Anya said. "That doesn't make sense."

Rio sighed, making Miles wrap his arm around her.

"I'm sure the court with provide us a lawyer, Mom." Miles said. "I mean, that is the law."

"Indeed it is." came a man's voice.

Everyone turned and looked around, and saw a blind man with light brown hair, wearing a suit and holding a case coming towards them all.

"Which of you is Rio Morales?" he asked.

"I am." Rio asked, getting up. "Who are you?"

"My name is Matt Murdock, I'm a lawyer." the man explained.

Peter and Gwen both turned to each other, as they'd heard of this guy from ads in the Daily Bugle during their summer after defeating the Green Goblin.

"Matt Murdock?" Gwen whispered. "That blind lawyer from Hell's Kitchen?"

"I've read about him at the Bugle." Peter whispered. "He's quite well know and put away quite a few criminals."

"Well, if he's that good, hopefully that should help." Gwen hoped.

Anya turned and leaned towards them both.

"You sound like you know this guy?" she asked.

"We've heard of him, but that's all." Peter assured. "And we know who is friend is."

Gwen nodded, before they turned to Murdock, Rio and Miles.

"So, why are you here?" Miles asked.

"Like I said, I'm a lawyer, and I've been hired to defend Mr. Davis." Murdock explained.

"Why are you doing this?" Rio asked. "I mean, we haven't even been able to hire a lawyer to defend my husband."

"Yeah. We'd figured the court would appoint me." Miles said. "How could we have gotten you?"

Murdock smiled and held up his stick.

"I have a friend who owes Mr. Parker there a favor." he explained. "I'm doing this so she can pay him back as she's away at the minute. I take on any client who I believe to be framed, and I believe that is what has happened your husband."

Peter's eyes widened, telling him that this man was Jennifer Walters' friend Jessica had referred too last night.

"How does your friend know Peter?" Rio asked curiously.

Miles turned to Peter, having deduced it like Peter, and so did Gwen and Anya.

"He helped my friend out of a jam once, and she never forgets a debt." Murdock explained. "She's a lawyer herself, and would've taken the case herself if she weren't away on assignment."

"Oh." Rio said, surprised. "Well, I'm glad to know you're willing to defend my husband."

"I promise I'll do my best." Murdock promised. "Now, if you can tell me about what happened?"

Rio smiled as Miles got up and approached the other Web-Warriors, before they crowded together.

"You trust this Murdock, guy?" Miles asked. "I mean, he looks a bit creepy."

"Miles, he's blind." Anya said sternly. "Not his fault for the way he looks."

"And the friend he's referring to is She-Hulk." Peter whispered. "She may not owe me anything, so Jess must've requested her help."

"I wonder how they know each other?" Gwen whispered.

"They must've went to law school together." Peter deduced. "Still, if he's as good as she is, I think your Dad's got a chance, Miles."

"Glad to hear that." Miles sighed.

They all turned to Rio and Murdock, Rio telling him about what she'd found out last night from Anya.

"When's your Dad's trail?" Anya asked.

"Two days from what I've heard." Miles said.

"Hopefully, that'll give us some time to find evidence to help with the case." Peter said.

"So, what do we do, Pete?" Gwen asked quietly.

"Miles, is your Mom going anywhere?" Peter asked.

"Yeah. She has to go to FEAST later." Miles said. "Her shift there starts after lunch."

They all turned and looked at the clock, seeing it was 11:30.

"Okay, you stay here and keep an eye on her and your ears open." Peter instructed. "When she leaves, Miles you go with her. Maybe you can overhear something that'll help."

"Understood." Miles said.

"Gwen, you head over to FEAST now." Peter said. "See if there's any rumors around and see if you can find anything."

"Right." Gwen nodded.

"What about me and you?" Anya asked.

"I'll go the Bugle and see if I can find something out." Peter said. "You do the same at the Goble since your Dad works there."

"Understood." Anya nodded.

They all separated, before Miles turned to his Mom, as the other three ran off to begin their searches.

Later, at the Daily Bugle, Peter was going through a filing cabernet, when Robbie came towards him.

"Uh, Peter, what are you doing?" he asked.

Peter turned to him and closed the cabernet up.

"I'm searching for a file on crooked cops." he explained.

"Why?" Robbie inquired, folding his arms suspiciously.

"Because I saw a cop named Sgt. Davis being arrested last night, and the way the arresting officers were just dragging him away." Peter recalled. "But I think there's more to it."

"What do you mean?" Robbie asked.

"Well... I think that cop has been set-up." Peter said.

"Set-up? You mean being framed?" Robbie inquired.

"Yes." Peter replied.

"You know this cop personally, Peter?" Robbie inquired.

"Well, not as well as I know Capt. Stacy, but his son is a friend of mine." Peter explained. "From what he's told me, his Dad's an honest man and not capable of anything like this. So, I have a feeling someone's framing him."

"Hmm? Wouldn't be the first time, Pete." Robbie assured.

"No, it wouldn't." came a voice.

They both turned as Ned Leeds walked towards them both.

"I've had to deal with frame ups before during some of my reports." Ned said. "The last one was about a year before you joined us, Parker."

"What happened?" Peter asked curiously.

"A man had been falsely accused of killing his wife-" Ned began.

"Isn't that a film or an old TV show called The Fugitive?" Peter questioned.

"Yes, no." Ned said, shaking his head. "It really did happen, just like the show and film, only some man in a red suit managed to catch the real killer and turn him in with a load of evidence he found."

"Oh." Peter said.

"And you think this might be something similar to that, Peter?" Robbie inquired.

"I'm sure." Peter said. "Sounds like whoever is behind this is a crooked cop, and I think Sgt. Davis is getting the blame."

"Hmm?" Robbie muttered. "We'll look into it, even if he has to go to jail for now."

"Thanks, guys." Peter said.

"Come with me, Peter." Ned said, as he turned around.

He led Peter towards another filing cabinet, before he pulled it open.

"These are all the past cases on crooked cops, but the last one is about two years old." Ned explained. "I doubt they'll be anything here to help you."

Peter sighed. "Thanks anyway, Ned." he said, before he turned and walked off. "Let's hope Anya's having more luck."

Meanwhile, at the Daily Globe, Anya was walking through a room, looking around for her father. The layout was the same as the Daily Bugle, with people working on desks, typing up stories on computers, only people had walls around their desks. Anya kept on walking around, before she approached the main receptionist, who was a blonde-haired woman in her mid to late 20s called April Maye.

"Anya, what are you doing here?" she asked. "Here to visit your father?"

"Um, sorta." Anya replied. "I actually need to have a look at something here."

"Look at what exactly?" April inquired.

Anya was about to answer, when her father Gilberto spotted her.

"Anya." he said, approaching her.

Anya smiled before they both hugged each other.

"Hi, Papa." she said, before they pulled apart.

"So, this is a nice surprise." Gilberto said. "I thought you'd be hanging out with your friends since it's the summer?"

"Well, I plan too, but right now, I can't." Anya explained.

"Why's that?" Gilberto inquired.

"Because I need find something here." Anya explained. "It's regarding the recent arrest of Sgt. Davis."

"What do you mean?" Gilberto inquired. "From what I've heard he's stuck in jail until his trial. Said he sold Police secrets on the Black Market to criminals."

"Papa, I know, but I have a feeling there's more to it." Anya said. "I think someone's setting him up."

"Setting him up?" Gilberto inquired. "You think someone's framing him?"

"Yes." Anya replied. "I saw him getting arrested last night, and the Cops arresting him wouldn't let him plead his case. It's lead me to believe this is a frame-up."

"Anya, why are you so sure of that?" Gilberto asked.

"Because his son is a friend of mine." Anya answered. "One I'm really close too."

"How close?" Gilberto inquired.

"Well... You might say, he's become the little brother I never had." Anya replied, since she was one of oldest in her year at school, while Miles was one of the youngest. "And from what he's told me, his Dad's not capable of anything he's been accused of."

Gilberto put his hand on his chin and sighed.

"Okay. I'll look into it for your sake. I'll see if there's anything about crooked Cops around here, but if I find out you're wrong about this, we'll be having a word, little missy." he promised.

"Understood, papa." Anya understood. "And thanks."

She turned and walked off with her head down, before she left the room. As she made her way to a bathroom to change and sneak out, her phone rang, which she took out, and saw it was Peter.

"Pete, you had any luck?" she asked, putting it to his ear.

"No." Peter said. "You?"

"Nothing, but my Papa's gonna look into it, but he's convinced Miles' Dad is guilty." Anya explained.

"Great." Peter sighed. "A friend of mine at the Bugle said there hasn't been any crooked Cops case for over a year."

"So, what do we do?" Anya asked.

"Let's meet up and investigate Web-Warrior style." Peter said.

Anya smiled, liking the sound of that, before she put her phone away and ran off.

That night, Spider-Man and Spider-Girl both stood on a rooftop together in Midtown, near the place Sgt. Davis had been arrested.

"Where's the others?" Spider-Girl asked, looking around.

"I got a text from Gwen. She's found nothing in Chinatown." Spider-Man explained.

"How long's her shift tonight then?" Spider-Girl asked.

"She's gonna be there quite a while." Spider-Man replied. "She has to do a double-shift as someone's not very well right now."

"Okay, and I guess with Miles being with his Mom, it's just us two?" Spider-Girl said, folding her arms.

"Bingo." Spider-Man said. "Come on."

They both jumped off the rooftop and began web-swinging through the city together, looking around. As they turned right, they both heard a noise, making them land on the side of a building, before they both saw a red costumed man on a nearby rooftop, holding a billy-club.

"Who's that?" Spider-Girl wondered.

"I have no clue." Spider-Man said. "I've never seen him before."

They both watched as the man ran across the rooftop and jumped off it, before he landed on another one.

"What do you think he's doing?" Spider-Girl asked.

"I don't know, but I think we better follow him." Spider-Man said.

They both jumped off the rooftop and began web-swinging after the man, who jumped onto another rooftop. They chased him down a few streets, but then stopped and lost sight of him, as they landed on a rooftop.

"Uh, where'd he go?" Spider-Girl questioned, as they looked around. "I could've sworn he came by here."

"I know, me too." Spider-Man said.

They both looked around, before Spider-Man's Spider-Sense tingled.

"Uh-oh." he gulped.

He grabbed Spider-Girl and pulled her down, as the figure dived down and tried to kick them, missing them both by inches.

"Hey!" Spider-Girl complained, before she turned to the figure. "Oh."

They both got up and stared at the figure, who turned to them spun his billy-club around like a Bo, before he held it behind him, showing he had two D's on his chest that were very close together.

"Quick moves." he remarked. "Impressive."

He dived towards them both, making them back flip away as he tried to whack them with his billy-club, before they landed near the edge of the rooftop in a perched position each.

"Hey, wait? What are you doing?" Spider-Man asked, holding his hands up.

"I could ask you the same question." the man said. "You should know better than to sneak up on someone?"

"Hey, don't you think we know that?" Spider-Man questioned.

"Who the heck are you anyway?!" Spider-Girl demanded. "And how did you know we were following you?!"

"I'm called the Daredevil." the man explained coldly. "And is case you're wondering, I could hear both coming from a mile away, as I have enhanced senses."

Both Spiders turned to each other.

"This guy could give our Spider-Sense a run for his money." Spider-Man whispered.

"Uh, hello, I don't have that unlike the rest of us." Spider-Girl whispered.

"Oh, yeah. Sorry." Spider-Man whispered.

They both turned to Daredevil, who came at them both slowly.

"Now, why were you following me?" he asked. "Are you trying to stop me doing my job!"

"Depends on what your job is!" Spider-Girl retorted.

Daredevil began to charge at them, raising his billy-club up.

"Well, wait? We're friends with Parker." Spider-Man pleaded, holding his hands up.

Daredevil glared at them both as he stopped, before he moved away and lowered his billy-club.

"I'm sorry." he said.

Both Spiders pulled themselves up and looked at him.

"The way you both came at me, I thought you-" Daredevil began.

"You're not the first." Spider-Man assured, remembering when he and Gwen had first met the Fantastic Four and the X-Men. "When we saw you running along the rooftops, we figured we better follow you."

"Yeah. We thought you were a crook." Spider-Girl explained. "And trust us, Spidey has experience with that."

"Sorry. I've heard about the Web-Warriors from the papers, but I've never heard of you before?" Daredevil questioned.

He pointed at Spider-Girl, who frowned slightly.

"She's only been with us for a few weeks." Spider-Man explained. "Guess the News hasn't reached your end."

"I guess it hasn't." Daredevil agreed.

"So, care to tell us why you're here?" Spider-Man asked.

"Murdock sent me to investigate a lead he has on Sgt. Davis' falsely arrest." Daredevil explained.

"You know Matt Murdock?" Spider-Girl inquired, folding her arms.

"Yes." Daredevil replied. "Since you're friends with Parker, I guess that means you're investigating too?"

"Yeah, we are." Spider-Man assured. "Ghost and Shadow are both busy with another lead right now through."

"Oh. Well, since we're all investigating, I should tell you my lead proved false." Daredevil explained. "I thought I found a lead that might lead me to the person framing Sgt Davis, but it turned out to be a dead-end. I doubt I'll be able to find anything good until after the trail."

"What do you mean?" Spider-Girl asked.

"He's trial begins tomorrow." Daredevil explained.

"But he only got arrested last night?" Spider-Girl recalled. "How come his trial's just starting tomorrow?"

"Yeah. I thought they'd be a few more days?" Spider-Man questioned, recalling what Miles had said.

"Normally, there is, so I sense someone has bribed the judge." Daredevil explained. "I have a feeling some of the jury might be too, or if not, threatened. I've seen it before."

The two Spiders turned to each other, not liking that news, as it could mean Miles' Dad to really go to jail for a crime he didn't commit.

"The only good thing is, the real trail won't begin for a few weeks." Daredevil said. "This will only determine if Sgt. Davis can make bail to be able to prove himself."

"Well, that's a relief." Spider-Girl said.

Spider-Man approached Daredevil, who looked at him.

"I promise you, us and the others, we'll help you out here." he said.

"I'll keep that in mind." Daredevil said.

He jumped off the rooftop as both Spiders stared at him, before they turned to each other.

"Well, looks like we have an alley here." Spider-Girl said.

"Yeah. And if he knows Matt Murdock, I think I can see why Jess had Jennifer Walters ask Murdock to defend Miles' Dad." Spider-Man said. "I wouldn't be surprised if Daredevil's helped Murdock out a lot."

"Same here." Spider-Girl agreed. "I think we better tell Gwen and Miles this tomorrow before the trail begins."

"Agreed." Spider-Man said.

He took out his phone and looked at the clock on it, seeing it was almost 10pm.

"It's nearly 10. We better get home." he said.

"Right." Spider-Girl said. "See ya."

They both jumped off the rooftop and swung off in different directions, both slightly annoyed they weren't able to find out anything to help Sgt. Davis clear his name.

The next morning, at 10am, at the Courthouse, Sgt. Davis' trail had begun, with Matt Murdock sitting beside him behind a table on the right side of the judge, while Kingpin's lawyer James Wesley sat on one on his left. The Judge presiding over the case, was a brown-haired man with a small beard called Robert Harding.

Among those sitting in the seats beside the Web-Warriors and Rio, were Aunt May, Mary Jane, Harry, Ganke, Flash, Randy, Liz, Sally, Gloria, Capt. Stacy and Lt. Watanabe, Lt. DeWolff being missing as she was left in charge at the precinct. On Wesley's side, was a few of Kingpin's thugs, who were unknown to the people at the time, including Richard, who grinned. Also there were a few reporters and journalists, including Ned, Robbie, Gilberto, Whitney Chang, and even Jameson himself, who didn't like this.

"I don't like the looks of that lawyer." Harry said, pointing at Wesley.

"Me neither." Peter said.

He turned to Anya slightly, who nodded, both remembering what Daredevil told them last night.

"I know what you mean." Mary Jane sighed. "I wish my Uncle Spencer was still around. He'd be a lot more fair."

Miles, Anya and Ganke all turned to her in confusion, while Peter, Gwen and Harry all smiled.

"Her late Uncle Spencer was a lawyer." Peter explained. "He died four years ago, after getting a heart attack."

"Oh." Miles said. "Still, I don't think my Dad stands a chance."

"Same here. This might turn into a kangaroo court." Anya said.

"I think it is." Peter said, pointing at Wesley.

Everyone turned to him as he got up.

"This man has committed the most zaniest crime a criminal can commit, and he's supposed to be a man of the law, protecting our fair city." Wesley began. "Instead through, he's been selling secrets out to the dangerous criminals instead of arresting them. Therefore, I move that there be no bail for the defendant, Jefferson Davis!"

Sgt. Davis stared at Wesley, not believing how biased was being.

"No." Rio cried.

Tears came down her eyes as Miles and Ganke comforted her.

"Your honor, my client here deserves a chance to clear himself." Matt explained. "If you hold him without bail, he won't be able to do that in jail."

"Your client Murdock is guilty already, and deserves to rot in jail until the actually trial!" Wesley snapped.

"My client is innocent, and he needs his freedom to prove it, even if he has to be under guard 24-7." Matt argued.

"He doesn't deserve that!" Wesley argued. "He's-"

"Order! Order!" the judge roared, slamming his gavel down.

Both lawyers turned to him.

"I admire your insistence on your client being demanded bail, Mr. Murdock, but I'm afraid that due to all the evidence against him, I have to put him away without bail." the judge said, banging his gavel. "Bailiffs, take him away."

Two bailiffs came up towards Sgt. Davis and cuffed him.

"No." Rio cried.

She covered her eyes with her hands as tears came out of it.

"I can't believe it." Miles sighed.

"Oh, man. I'm sorry, Mrs. Morales. You too, Miles." Ganke said, touching his shoulder.

"Thanks." Miles sighed.

He turned around to his friends, who all looked at him, before he saw Aunt May coming towards his mother.

"That was defiantly a kangaroo court." Mary Jane said. "I wouldn't be surprised if some of the jury are getting paid to put your Dad in jail."

"I think we all think that, MJ." Gwen said.

Miles turned as his Dad got led away in cuffs, before all reporters got in front of him, expect for Jameson and Robbie.

"Can you tell us how you feel?" Ned asked.

"Why did you betray the force to criminals?" Whitney asked.

"Can you tell us why you did it?" Gilberto asked.

Anya frowned and folded her arms, before Peter touched his shoulder.

"He's probably doing it for appearances sake." he whispered.

"Oh." Anya said.

A little later, outside the courthouse, everyone watched as a Police van lead Sgt. Davis away down a street, while the reporters were now interviewing Capt. Stacy and Lt. Watanabe.

"Capt. Stacy, how do you feel about Sgt. Davis' betrayal?" Whitney asked.

"Are you gonna personal strip him off his badge?" a man asked.

"When will you-" Ned began.

"Okay, first, I don't believe he's guilty." Capt. Stacy said harshly. "Everyone's innocent until proven guilty, and in my eyes, that was a kangaroo court back there."

The reporters turned to the Lt., who glared at them.

"I agree with my Capt. While I do think there's a Cop betraying us, I think it's someone else and not Sgt. Davis." she said, folding her arms. "And if any of you ask my friend Lt. DeWolff, she'll say the same thing."

"Why are you so sure he's innocent, Capt.?" Gilberto asked.

"Because Sgt. Davis and I have a more in common than you think, Mr. Corazon." the Capt. said. "I would never betray all I've worked so hard for, and neither would he. And, that's all I'm saying about that."

"But, Capt.-" Whitney began.

"Okay, that's enough!" came Jameson's voice.

Everyone turned as he came over, before he led the Capt. away.

"I think they've answered enough questions for now." Jameson said. "And like he said, that was a kangaroo court in there. I won't believe a word I've heard about that man's guilt until I've seen a lot more proof."

Lt. Watanabe turned and followed them both, before the reporters all turned to Robbie, who came over.

"I suggest you all leave and find more people to question, because I don't think Capt. Stacy's in the mood right now." Robbie said. "That includes you, Ned. Like Peter said yesterday, there are crooked cops out there, and Sgt. Davis might be being framed."

"Uh, right, Robbie." Ned stuttered. "You got it."

The reporters all turned and walked off in different directions, as Robbie sighed and turned around.

"I have a feeling whoever's framing that Sgt. must be cleaver." he thought.

Nearby, Miles and Ganke stood together, both staring at Rio and Aunt May.

"Rio, I'm sure there's proof out there that'll clear Jeff's name up." Aunt May said.

"I hope so, May." Rio sighed, crying slightly. "My family doesn't give up. I just wish who would wanna frame my husband and lock him up for life."

"I wish I knew." Aunt May sighed. "If you want, I can stay with you until you have to go to work?"

"Thank you, May. I appreciate that." Rio said.

They both smiled at each other as Miles and Ganke kept staring at them.

"Glad to see your Mom's getting comfort from Peter's Aunt." Ganke said.

"Yeah." Miles agreed.

Miles sighed as Ganke touched his shoulder, while the rest of his friends came towards him.

"Peter." Ganke said, looking at him.

"Ganke." Peter said. "Sorry for not saying 'Hi' earlier, but-"

"Hey, I get it." Ganke said. "With what Miles' Dad's being charged with, it's not important right now."

"Uh, Peter, you know him?" Mary Jane asked, pointing at Ganke.

Peter turned to the others.

"Yeah, sort of. I met him the same day I met Angelica." he explained truthfully.

"It's true." Miles said. "He was with me when we were visiting Mom when Peter came in."

"Oh, I see." Mary Jane said.

"Well, you gonna introduce us?" Harry asked.

"Guys, this is my friend Ganke." Miles explained, before he pointed at them one at a time. "Ganke, this Mary Jane, Gwen, Harry and Anya."

"Nice to meet you." Gwen said, holding out her hand.

"Hi. Miles' told me a lot about you all." Ganke said, shaking her hand.

"He has?" Anya inquired.

"Yeah, so I kinda know each of you already by your appearances." Ganke said. "Anya, isn't it?"

"Yep." Anya said.

Gwen, Harry and Mary Jane all smiled, the latter folding her arms as Ganke smiled at them all.

"This isn't how I wanted to introduce you all." Miles sighed.

"It's okay, Miles." Harry said. "We get it."

"And we all believe your father's innocent and being set-up." Anya assured.

"Thanks, guys." Miles sighed.

He turned slightly, looking upset, before Peter touched his shoulder.

"I just wish he didn't have to go to jail until we had proof of his innocence." Miles sighed.

"I'm sure he'll be cleared." Peter said.

"So, here's where the party is." came a woman's voice.

They all turned around and saw Felica Hardy approaching them, coming away from a black car.

"Who's that?" Peter asked.

"Yeah? Who is she, Harry?" Gwen asked.

"Guys, this is Felica Hardy." Harry explained. "She's my Dad's new secretary, the one I told you about a few weeks ago."

Peter and Gwen looked at Felica, finding her appearance slightly familiar, as they didn't know she was the Black Cat who had tried to seduce Peter during their encounters as Spider-Man and Ghost-Spider.

"I, um, hate to interrupt you hanging out with your friends, Harry, but your Dad wants you right now." Felica explained.

"Now?" Harry questioned. "Doesn't he know my friend here has a father being accused of treason?"

He pointed at Miles, who looked up at her.

"He does, but unfortunately, this is important." Felica said. "He wouldn't have asked you to come if weren't necessary. Sorry."

Harry sighed before he turned to his friends.

"Okay. I'll see you guys later." he said. "If I hear anything that might help, Miles, I'll let you know."

"Thanks." Miles said.

Harry turned and followed Felica off towards the black car, before Peter and Gwen turned to each other.

"Does she look...familiar to you?" Gwen whispered.

"Yeah." Peter whispered. "From where though, I'm not sure."

"You two okay?" Mary Jane asked, getting their attention.

"Yeah. It's just... that woman looks familiar to us somehow." Gwen explained.

"Oh." Mary Jane said. "Look, I better go. I promised Aunt Anna I'd get some things once the trial was over."

"Okay." Peter said. "See you."

Mary Jane turned and walked off, before Ganke turned and left as well, leaving the four Web-Warriors alone.

"Where's Ganke going?" Gwen asked.

"He's gotta go home." Miles explained. "Got some stuff to do."

"Still, it was nice of him to be here for you." Anya said.

"Yeah. He's kinda like you and Harry, Pete, only his family background's a lot different." Miles said.

"Well, I'll be." Peter said, surprised.

They all looked around, before the four of them huddled together to make sure no one could hear them.

"Gwen, did you hear anything in Chinatown last night?" Peter asked.

"No, I didn't. Quite a number of people at FEAST think he's guilty." Gwen sighed. "Some volunteers even want Rio to quit, calling her the wife of a traitor."

"That's horrible." Anya said.

"I know. So, what do we do now?" Gwen asked.

"Yeah? My Mom's gonna need me right now, since my Dad's been sent to jail." Miles sighed.

"Miles, you stay with your Mom for now." Peter instructed. "Gwen, you go to the station and try and see if anyone looks suspicious."

"In case someone there's the real criminal." Gwen whispered, nodding. "Got it."

"What about us?" Anya asked.

"Anya, you and I will search the city and see if we can find Daredevil." Peter said. "Perhaps together, we can find someone or somewhere evidence might be."

"Understood." Anya said.

"If any of us find out anything, we let the others know." Peter said.

"Understood." Gwen nodded.

"Right." Miles said.

"Right. Let's go." Peter said. "I'm still working on a battle cry, but this isn't the place."

"No, it's not." Anya agreed, as they'd told her about the bad ones he'd already come up with.

They all separated and began to walk off in different directions, Gwen towards her father, Miles his mother and Aunt May, while Peter and Anya both walked away from the courthouse.

As they did so, Richard Fisk pulled out his phone and put it to his ear, with Wesley standing near him.

"How's things going, son?" Kingpin asked.

"Well, Sgt. Davis has been sent to jail without bail." Richard explained. "But we've got a problem."

"What do you mean?" Kingpin asked.

"Matt Murdock's his defendant." Richard replied.

"Murdock?" Kingpin exclaimed.

"Yes." Richard replied.

(Kingpin's skyscraper)

Kingpin sat behind his desk, with Alistair and Hammerhead standing before him.

"If Murdock's involved in this, it means that friend of his Daredevil might be searching for evidence." Kingpin spat.

"I know." Richard said. "Hopefully however, Blake and Hoffman will have planted enough evidence to land Sgt. Davis in jail for life."

"Good." Kingpin said. "Anything else you noticed in there."

"Not that I'm aware of." Richard assured.

"Right. Keep me informed, son." Kingpin instructed.

"Yes, father." Richard said, before he hung up.

Kingpin put his phone down and looked at Hammerhead and Alistair.

"Looks like we might have a small problem on our hands." he said, getting up. "We better get to the lab room."

(The courthouse)

Richard put his phone away and turned to Wesley.

"We better find Blake and Hoffman." he said. "See if they've found more evidence to plant on that Sgt."

"Right." Wesley said, nodding.

Later, Spider-Man and Spider-Girl were both swinging through the city in Hell's Kitchen while looking around, before they spotted Daredevil on a rooftop. He looked up at the pair as they swung down towards him, before they landed in front of him.

"I'm glad you found me." Daredevil said.

"Well, since you know Murdock, we figured Hell's Kitchen's where you'd be." Spider-Man assured.

"What better place to start searching for you." Spider-Girl joked.

"Good detective work." Daredevil remarked. "Did you or your friends find a lead last night."

"No." Spider-Man said. "Ghost and Shadow's proved false too."

"Great. So, where are they now?" Daredevil asked.

"Ghost's at the station Sgt. Davis worked at." Spider-Man explained. "I told her to investigate and find out if there's anyone suspicious."

"Good thinking." Daredevil said. "Whoever's framing him would likely work at the same precinct. But what about Shadow-Spider?"

"Shadow's..." Spider-Man began.

"Daredevil, look, Shadow's related to Sgt. Davis." Spider-Girl explained, seeing no other reason to explain his absence right now.

"Oh." Daredevil said. "I can understand that. He needs to be with his family to help them out until we clear the Sgt's name."

"Yeah. If it was me or any of us, we'd do the same thing." Spider-Man assured. "I did tell Shadow we'd only call if we really needed him."

"Okay." Daredevil said. "I take you and your friends have no leads?"

"No." Spider-Man answered.

"Well, I have one." Daredevil said. "I think I know who is behind all this. It wouldn't be the first time I've dealt with him."

"Who?" Spider-Girl asked curiously.

"He calls himself, the Kingpin." Daredevil explained.

"The Kingpin?" both Spiders questioned.

"Yes. He's a notorious criminal mastermind who I've been trying to put away for years, but he always manages to keep evidence away." Daredevil explained. "He's said to be the best crime lord in the city."

"Wait a minute, that explains a lot." Spider-Man said.

"What do you mean?" Spider-Girl asked.

"Ghost and I have encountered several crime lords in our time, and every time we met Hammerhead, we thought he was one." Spider-Man recalled. "But during my last encounter with him on a few weeks ago, he said he wasn't."

"That's because Hammerhead is the Kingpin's right-hand man." Daredevil explained. "The person who handles all his stuff in the field so he doesn't get caught. He's quite well known in keeping his tracks covered."

"Just how well do you know this Kingpin?" Spider-Girl asked.

"I know him better than he knows me." Daredevil replied. "Like I told you last night, he probably bribed the judge to move the hearing forward."

"Or maybe he had someone threaten the judge." Spider-Man reasoned. "I mean, during my encounters with Hammerhead, he didn't seem nice at all. And if Kingpin's his Boss, he's bound to be even worse."

"Hmm? You raise a good point there." Daredevil agreed. "It wouldn't be the first time. Murdock has told me it's happened before, sometimes both during some of his trials."

"And you really think it's happened again this time?" Spider-Girl asked.

"Yes. Because, I saw the Kingpin's son at Sgt. Davis' trial." Daredevil explained. "He's just like his father in nearly every way."

"Man... Looks like Sgt. Davis isn't gonna get a fair chance without proper evidence." Spider-Girl deduced.

"Correct." Daredevil said.

"Look, you mind telling us who this Kingpin really is?" Spider-Man asked. "If Ghost and I have dealt with Hammerhead before, he's bound not to be happy."

"His name is Wilson Fisk." Daredevil explained.

Both Spiders gasped and moved back, lowering their mouths in shock, although Spider-Man's couldn't be seen.

To be continued...
