Events are moved into the past.
In the bay of a small town, a boat is sailing alone with a boy on board dressed in the fashion of the 18th century, he hopes to find his father's ship, who returned after a long voyage, he was eager to see him face to face, having sailed some distance, he took out a telescope and looked at his father's ship, and then continued on his way. But at some point, fog descended on the sea and enveloped the lonely boat of the boy.
- Father! - shouted the boy, trying to call his father in response, he heard a loud sound coming from the fog.
It was a ship, but from another time it swam and swam, trying to call for help, he noticed that the ship did not even try to stop, then in a panic he took the oars and swam with all his strength, but the ship developed too high speed and easily rammed the boat of his victim. The boy in a panic tried to save himself and even called for help, but there was no answer. And then, choking on water, he hardly found a ladder to which he miraculously swam and barely climbed up with his last strength, losing consciousness.
Waking up, he spat out the water that got into his mouth and with difficulty got to his feet slowly climbing up the ladder. Soon he saw that the ship had left the foggy waters and that it was now a cloudy morning. Then he got on board and began to cry for help:
- Hey, is there anyone!
But no one answered him. Then, after walking some distance, he thought that he was on an abandoned freighter, which was actually an aircraft carrier. There were no masts on it, only a smooth deck with some marks and a strange flag drawn in the bow, on the right side of the board there was a cabin, from where the ship could be controlled.
- Someone answer me! You wrecked my lifeboat and now you are indebted to take me to my father's ship! repeated the boy. And suddenly, from under the floor, where the hatch was located, a soldier dressed in a strange uniform came out with a strange rifle in his hands, he had a strange helmet with unknown symbols on his head. He walked slowly behind the boy and as soon as he stopped to call the people once more:
- Is anybody here?
The soldier stood behind him:
- Who is there?! - the boy asked and instantly turning his head, a soldier beats him in the face with a rifle butt.
When he woke up, he could hardly see with his blurry vision three more of the same strangely dressed soldiers, differing from them only their officer was wearing a leather overcoat, and on his head was some kind of headdress with an eagle and a skull remotely resembling a Jolly Roger, then he was something then he said in an incomprehensible language:
- Dieser hier kann uns noch nützlich sein, schick ihn zu den anderen in die Strafzelle, lass Lorenzini sich darum kümmern!
Then the same soldier who had hit the boy's face with the butt of his rifle took him on his shoulder and carried him to the indicated place. Each time he opened and closed his eyes, he saw different pictures, how the daylight disappeared behind the doorway, an officer and a soldier counting out on some business and other punishment cells in which there were creatures unlike a normal person. And then some boy who spoke with an Italian accent helped him wake up:
- Hey, wake up guy! he replied.
- Where I am? What kind of place is it? the boy asked in surprise.
"This place is called a concentration camp," he repeated.
- What? - once again he was surprised.
- Floating prison, dungeon, call it what you like! You're in the same trouble as us and soon we'll have a terrible job on this ship! he replied.
- It turns out that I ended up in prison just like that or for the fact that I stepped on their ship? the boy asked
- You are either a fool, just strangely dressed, or not from this time! he replied.
- What time is it? the boy asked.
- June 7, 1940! I repeat only to you! he said sternly.
- Oh, God, so I moved to another time and world! he answered in a panic.
- And those people who attacked me who are they? - he asked.
- Don't you know, now the Second World War, we are captured by the Nazis! he replied
- And who are these Nazis? he asked.
- Hmm, it looks like you're still not from our time! he shook his head - my name is Luccinola or call me by my real name Romeo.
- Nicely my name is William - William answered, barely finishing speaking when two soldiers entered the open door, followed by an old man of about 60 dressed in a black uniform with the same symbols on a black headdress and with a red armband on his left sleeve with a whip cane in hand.
- So, so, who do we have here, it seems like another victim of a shipwreck ?! I really like you! It seems I've already seen you somewhere, though I don't remember where and when? - he answered - And how did you manage to get here on my ship? Well, he was a victim, he became a prisoner! Hahahaha! he laughed at the end.
- So this is it? - the officer asked and, having received a positive answer, he ordered William to go to the wardrobe and change his wet clothes for new ones, which he did, then, having gathered with the others on the main platform of the floating factory, he introduced himself Lorenzini already dressed in gray SS uniform:
- I am oberführer SS Fausto Paul Lorenzini, the commandant of this ship, you are all here against your will, you all committed a crime against the Reich, homosexuals, communists, with physical and mental disabilities, socialists and democrats. Therefore, in order for you to atone for your guilt, you must work in production 24 hours with one shift, anyone who tries to escape or start a rebellion will be shot on the spot! Any questions?
Hearing nothing, he ordered the soldiers to distribute all the prisoners to specific jobs: stokers, steelworkers, blacksmiths, ore processing, tailors, shoemakers. William was lucky, he, along with Luccinola, ended up in the ammunition department. Then, after everyone was redistributed, the soldiers weeded out the rest of the unfit children and took them to an unknown place where they were never seen again.
William and Luccinola worked painstakingly collecting shells on a floating factory, six months later, Lorenzini entrusted William with one of the important projects of the Third Reich - the production of Tiger tanks. For two whole years, William and other workers put their efforts into mass production of the latest tanks. Lorenzini watched him and replied:
- Well done! You're doing a good job for the Third Reich! The tanks that you make along with the rest will allow us to defeat the allies in a short time. - While singing the song Ein Männlein steht im Walde.
Until during the work shift, William and Luccinola spoke to each otherdrawing attention to a strange creature dressed in tank armor similar to knightly armor, armed with an aviation double-barreled machine gun:
- Who is this thug that guards us?
- We know a little about him, the only thing I learned from Nicolas and François is that he was created in some laboratory as some kind of super soldier who was supposed to turn the tide of the war, but the German High Command did not appreciate this project, he was transferred here to as a security guard, but research continued. We named him Iron Hans, for his armor and great strength due to the fact that he breaks the heads of disobedient prisoners with one hand.
- So is there any way to escape from here?
- No chance. There won't be too many guards, you will either be shot when you try to escape, or they will give you to be torn to pieces by Iron Hans, or Lorenzini and his assistant Lieutenant Metzner will be interested in you and they will send you to an unknown place from where no one returns, but I heard from there periodically the roar of a donkey or a chilling cry.
- Stories like this don't scare me! One way or another, I will make my way there, and if I have to meet with those horrors that are down there, then I am ready to meet them face to face!
- Well, I wish you luck, it will come in handy!
William went to explore the depths of the ship, trying not to catch the eye of the guards, sometimes he had to climb the ventilation shaft. Going down to the lower level, he found a casemate on which it was clearly written in German.
- Now I know where they keep all the weapons we made,- William thought to himself.
Then he went further where he came across a shadow glowing in an orange light being dragged by someone. He distinctly heard someone's roar, at first thinking that donkeys were kept there for sale, then when he reached the door he saw several guards dragging the donkey into the corral, beating and scolding the unfortunate animal, he immediately hurried to leave this place and continue searching for a place where he could to escape, but when he reached the supposed exit, William saw the gruesome truth that Lorenzini was using children who were no longer fit for work for medical experiments, the main one being the transformation of children into donkeys.
- My God, what did they do to you?! Fiends! We can't stay here anymore, we have to get out of here, I have to tell my people what trouble we're in!
But before he had time to budge, a group of guards suddenly entered, William immediately wanted to join the battle, but realized that it was useless to resist the armed soldiers, soon Lorenzini and his assistant Metzner came in after him.
- So, so, so what are you doing here? asked Lorenzini
- Did you turn these unfortunate people into donkeys? asked William
- Exactly! Lorenzini replied.
"But why did you do it?" William asked.
Then Lorenzini continued:
- Once in the Enchanted Forest I was the owner of the Island of Pleasure, I was engaged in the fact that I was the driver of the carriage drawn by donkeys in which I drove all the lazy boys, mediocrity and ignoramuses who did not want to study and skip school and brought them to this island, where they are under the influence vices and alcohol, they turned into donkeys, which I then sold in the market. Everything went on until I ran into a wooden doll named Pinocchio, the bastard threw me off a cliff while trying to escape, thinking that I was dead, but how wrong he was. I managed to survive, but I ended up here alone with nothing, only business acumen and knowledge of the occult allowed me to break into this society, I became much more influential by entering the service of a man who said that he would make this world much better!
- You're crazy! William shouted.
- Madman? - calmly answered Lorenzini - no, it's just business. Take him!
The SS soldiers immediately took the aggressive William by the arms and led him after Lorenzini. As they walked, Williams looked at the dog cages in which there was a resemblance that was once a man dressed in a German uniform and emitted an evil order, thirsting for living human blood, they were furious, shaking the cages, but the guard soldiers beat them mercilessly to pacify, his old familiar - Iron Hans.
- You're probably wondering who was this man clad in steel armor and armed with a machine gun? - Lorenzini asked - all these test subjects are just a pitiful semblance of the one you see in front of you, many after the experiment with the serum remained at the level of animal instinct, this one was lucky at least he was revived with the help of this serum that made him at least ugly, but extremely strong, hardy and extremely obedient.
"I've been thinking about something," William said defiantly.
- And about what? asked Lorenzini.
- That you'd better give up, it won't end well! William answered.
- Well, no, - objected Lorenzini - I know very well what the allies are doing with the captured Germans, we will fight to the end, that's why we need monsters who will fight without regret for our ideology, who may consider this blasphemy or sacrilege, but for me it's science!
Finally, they enter the laboratory, which had several scientists and doctors preparing an operating room steel, which looked more like a torture weapon with steel rings to hold the test subject.
- I was generous to you, gave shelter, food, honest work, but you showed too much curiosity and stuck your nose where it doesn't belong! Lorenzini answered sternly. - now you will pay in full!
- I'm not your dog, Lorenzini! William answered.
- What you said? asked Lorenzini.
- I'm not your chain dog! William shouted.
In response, Lorenzini laughed, and then slapped William sharply and hard in the face and continued to beat him with his whip:
- You will do whatever I order! You will follow my orders even if you don't want to! You will sit down when I say! You will eat when I say! You are now my property! got the little piece of shit?! shouted Lorenzini in anger. And then he ordered the doctors to put him on the operating table with his hands and feet cuffed, when they did this, William made a vein incision in his left arm and inserted a dropper needle, then Lorenzini took out the very serum from the freezer:
- This substance was discovered in the diary of Victor Frankenstein, which in turn I discovered while traveling in the World without color, Dr. Frankenstein was a very gifted person who could create life from dead bodies, but we went further and began to conduct experiments on living people , so far without success, but you can change everything, if you survive of course!
Then he inserted the serum into the stand, the doctor connected it to the hose and it flowed into William's veins, the unfortunate man experienced hellish pain and convulsed, from his sadistic nature Lorenzini took out a record with a melody While singing the song classical music and inserted it into the gramophone so that this music drowned out his screams, a few minutes after the introduction of the serum, the convulsion ended and foam flowed from the mouth and William lost consciousness, each of his eyes changed its pupil color, Lorenzini ordered to turn off the music and check the subject and making sure that there was a pulse, Lorenzini ordered two soldiers to shackle William in a strait jacket and an iron mask in form of a wolf and send him to the punishment cell without taking his eyes off him. For several months, scientists pumped out William's blood for further experiments, everything went great for them, they finally improved the Victor Frankenstein formula and were able to start the mass production of super soldiers Yu, all documents were redirected to Lorenzini personal account from where he could take them with him after returning to base or in case of escape if there was an uprising on the ship that extreme little was unlikely as he believed.
