Holly had her hair pinned up while she laid in the tub, Robert laying back on her, her legs on both sides of him. "This is heaven." Holly took a drink of her champagne.
Robert let out a sigh, this all meant so much to him it was sometimes hard to even believe. "You don't have to tell me that. There was a time I thought I would never see you or hold you again, even after last May. I never thought we would get back to this but I'm glad we did. I wouldn't trade this for anything in the world." He lifted her other hand to kiss it.
Holly could feel the tears building up in her eyes. "For someone who claims to not be such a softy you are still my big marshmallow. I wouldn't change it for anything though. I love you." She placed a kiss on his shoulder.
"I love you. I've never felt this comfortable being so open with any other woman. I've tried, they just have never been you." Robert held her hand in his, playing with her engagement ring and wedding ring.
Holly placed another kiss on his shoulder. "I know what you mean. After I thought I had lost you for good because in 92 I did think I would get you back, I tried to move on but they were never you. We never worked."
"You would have. I wanted to get back to you and tell you that I loved you but not until Anna and I had talked and I knew she was safe. I do love her but I'm not in love with her." Robert told Holly, him and Anna would always have a bond but it wasn't like him and Holly and it never would be.
Holly rubbed Robert's chest and kissed his neck again. "I love you, do you know how loved you make me feel? How whole? I spent the whole day smiling because I knew I got to come home to you. I will spend every day like that. Remember how I said I wanted to devote myself to you and us? I am completely, totally and hugely."
Robert's face lit up as he smiled. "Yes I do. I can't wait until I get back home to you. It makes every part of every day better knowing that I get to see your beautiful face when I get home." Robert kissed her hand again.
Holly loved him with all of her heart, how perfect he was for her. She kissed his head. "I think this is the most perfect way to end our days. I vote for it be a regular thing."
"No arguments here. I would love to do this every day. Not quite the sauna but it will do." Robert told her, he felt so relaxed in her arms. Just at complete ease.
"You know one of these days we will have to get another place with a sauna. Remember the one we had in Australia?" Holly asked him, gently rubbing his chest again.
"Quite fondly. I would come in from working and you would take advantage of me." Robert teased her, chuckling as he knew he would get a response from her.
"Oh yes, you know I just couldn't wait another second, you poor man." She laughed and shook her head. "We really did have some great times there. Nothing done to use can take that away, ever. I hope you know that." Holly stated, she never wanted them to not be grateful for what they did have over the years. Some people never had a love like this. A love they constantly came back to because it was so strong, it was home.
"No one ever will." Robert was certain of that, just as he was certain they were going to stay together. "Let's get out of here so I can hold you." Robert said as he got out of the bathtub and grabbed their towels.
Holly got out and took one from him. "Why are we dirtying two?" She asked him with a wicked grin.
Robert sat the towel back down and joined her in hers. "Oh I love you." He kissed her neck.
"Such a softy when I open my towel to you." She joked, tilting her head to the side.
Robert laughed against her neck, he could just stay like this but he wanted them to just be able to lay and hold each other. He scooped her up, losing the towel completely.
"Robert!" Holly was caught by surprise as she laughed.
Robert grabbed the towel he had, incase the needed it and went back to the bedroom. "If we are going to make it to our room we must not wait."
Holly laughed again. "You have a point." She kissed him as Robert laid her on the bed.
Robert laid down next to her, his lips finding their way to her neck again. "You know I would be perfectly fine just holding you. I've missed this, missed us."
Holly smiled, she knew they weren't all about sex. They never had been. "Why don't we turn on a movie and cuddle, if something more happens, it happens."
Robert grabbed the remote and turned on a Charlie Chan movie, he put his arms around her after the two had gotten under the covers. They could think of no more perfect way to spend the evening than in each others arms.
