Dragon-X: The Dimension of Dragons

The First Year of Duel Academy is over and the Summer Holidays are here. But an Old Enemy returns to steal the Old God Cards and use their power to take over the world. The team must band together again on another adventure to defeat them and recover the Old God Cards, an adventure which would take them to a whole new world.

28. Reunited

Reunited:

The Spellcaster Army had marched into the Bufferlands. They had encounters Warrior occupation forces at nearly every settlement and the Spellcasters quickly defeated these occupying forces. What was shocking in that the Warrior Occupation hadn't been great for the local people. Civilians had been dragged off to work in the Warrior Lands in their factories and those who resisted had been arrested and taken to Aeonar Prison.

As the Spellcasters advanced, they defeated the Warrior Faction patrols and defeated the commanders at occupied towns in the Bufferlands and they saw the devastation that the occupation had left. The Warrior Faction had not been kind to the people of the Bufferlands and people were treated like they were criminals. The Warriors took everything of value to the people including food and water which left many people starving. The food from occupied farms was given to the Warrior army for their war, a war which many people in the Bufferlands did not want to get involved. Resistance to the Warrior faction got people arrested and some were turned into crystals by the Warriors.

The Warrior's defeat at Andoral's Reach had damaged the occupation of the recently conquered areas of the Bufferlands and some duelists who had gone into hiding after the fall of Redcliffe were able to defeat the Warriors and retake their homes. Now Grand Enchanter Fiona was hoping to recruit these people as allies in their war. Although the Spellcaster faction was not well liked in the Bufferlands, many agreed that they were better than the Warrior Faction as the Spellcasters did not occupy lands by force and people had volunteered to join the Spellcasters not as members of the army but as allies. Now large parts of the Bufferlands had united to bring the fight to the Warrior Faction. Many of these groups were small as the Bufferlands were filled with scattered smaller factions.

Fiona along with Solona and her friends were currently talking to a potential ally. Large parts of the Bufferlands had joined the Spellcaster army. Only the border with Warrior territory and Redcliffe were still under Warrior occupation and Fiona hoped to retake Redcliffe soon with her new allies. Only a few factions had not yet joined which included Plant/ Insect factions of the Forest and the Rock Factions of the Desert had not joined the army as the war hadn't affected them.

But there was one faction that might join them, the Winged Beast Faction of Winterwatch tower. This was the faction led by Speaker Anais that had helped Daylen, Kallian, Aedan and Kallian when they first arrived in this Dimension. Because Winterwatch Tower was located in the mountains, the duellists here had been able to hold off attacks by the Warrior faction since there was only a small mountainside path and the duellists here at the Tower were able to summon a magical storm to protect their lands and now they were one of the few Bufferlands factions that were still very strong and would make good allies if they could be convinced.

Anais stood in the main hall along with Neria, Fiona and Solona. "So let me get this straight." Anais stated "You want my forces to join with yours to defeat the Warrior Faction."

"If you agree then it would be welcomed." Fiona stated "I'm not going to force you to join us but any help would be welcomed. If we're going to defeat the Warrior Faction then we must fight together."

Anais sighed "I will admit, the Warrior Faction has been pushing into my lands, my followers had to fight them off three separate times and we were only able to do so thanks to our field advantage of being on a mountain. But I don't have much love for the spellcasters either. What do you plan to do after you've defeated the Warrior Faction?"

"I have no desire to rule over this world." Fiona stated "I did not start this war, Commander Meredith did. She's gone mad with power and we have to put a stop to it. Once she's defeated then my people will return home. We have no desire to expand our territory."

Anais looked at Neria who was the only one who Anais knew "You were the one who suggested that Fiona seek my aid." She stated "Tell me why you think I should help?"

"The Warriors need to be stopped." Neria stated "And remember my friends, Daylen, Aedan and Kallian, they were captured by the Warriors. The Warrior Faction was the ones who were outright conquering the Bufferlands, the spellcasters who raided these lands were rogue, if we're going to stop the Warriors, and we need to be united."

Anais looked at Neria; she knew it would only be a matter of time before the Warriors recovered from their defeat at Andoral's Reach and start attacking the Bufferlands again. They needed to make the first strike and so she made her decision "Alright Grand Enchanter Fiona, you've convinced me. My followers and I will join you to defeat the Warriors but we go as allies. I give the orders to my followers and if I don't like your suggestions then I will make my own."

"That's good enough" Fiona stated "Better fighting as allies than enemies. With your help, we should be able to retake Redcliffe. If we retake Redcliffe then we should have a stronghold to march onto Warrior Territory. We can also free our captured people if we retake Aeonar but we must first take Redcliffe."

Anais stood up and shook Fiona's hand which signalled their alliance.

In the Fortress of Redcliffe, the Warrior Faction still maintained a strong presence in the fortress. Redcliffe was one of the most strategic fortresses in the Bufferlands so it explained why the Warriors had a strong presence there as if the Spellcasters took the fortress then they could march straight into Warrior territory just like the Warriors did before. After the Warrior defeat at Andoral's Reach, Commander Meredith had withdrawn back to Kirkwall to rebuild their forces but now there was trouble at home. A splinter group of Warriors who disliked Meredith actions led by Warrior Duellist Thrask had risen up and now more Warriors were needed at home to put this uprising down. But since Redcliffe was a very important fortress, Meredith had appointed her third in command Karras to be in command of the fort and hold it against any Spellcaster attack but Karras was worried about that powerful dragon that defeated them at Andoral's Reach, it was more powerful than anything the Warriors had ever faced and Alrik had been sent to Aeonar to find information about it.

Karras had sent his Warrior scouts into the Bufferlands to try and stamp down any Resistance but now the Bufferlands were uniting against them. The Spellcasters had managed to encourage groups of them to join them as Karras knew it was only a matter of time before they would attack Redcliffe. So he had gathered the men outside ready to inform them "Listen up men!" he shouted "We have fought against the Spellcasters for years and just as we were on the verge of victory, it was turned around but that was not our fault. It was that dragon and soon we shall have a way of defeating it. The Spellcasters want to pollute this world with their magical ways. Magic is a blight on this world and must be eradicated. We may have lost the Battle of Andoral's Reach but we won't lose this war. Our scouts say that a massive army is heading this way but will we run? No we will not, because we are the Warrior Faction and we fight. We will fight this army and even if we fail, we will inflict enough casualties on them that they'll fail when they march on our territory." The men cheered in response "Now be ready, they shall be upon us very soon."

The Spellcasters and their allies made camp not far from Redcliffe. They had fought several Warrior patrols and freed a number of villages during the advance which resulted in even more people joining the army. Fiona along with Anais, Solona, her friends and Anders were in the command tent planning the attack on Redcliffe.

"Redcliffe is one of the strongest fortresses around." Anders stated "Our scouts reported that the Warrior Faction's Third in Command Ser Karras is in command of the fortress. He knows that he can just hide behind his walls and wait. Redcliffe was designed to withstand a siege."

"If we bring those walls down with some of our powerful monsters, we might be able to force them out." Fiona stated

"My friends Crowler and Zane can handle that." Solona stated "They have monsters that could bring those walls down. But I have another suggestion."

"Go ahead." Fiona stated

"I was here when the Warriors captured Redcliffe." Solona replied "We escaped through a secret tunnel from Redcliffe palace. We could use that tunnel to sneak a group of us in. It might take us straight to Karras."

"And we can cut the head off the snake." Anders stated

Fiona looked at him "Remember Anders, even if we take out Karras, most of these Warriors will fight until the end."

"That's a point." Solona stated "But the Warriors might know about this escape tunnel. When I escape, the Warrior Rylock was waiting for us."

"They won't expect us to come from the outside though." Fiona stated "Do you know where the tunnel is?"

"Yes" Solona replied

"Then you will take me and a few other Spellcasters with you." Fiona stated "Anders will lead the forces here as a distraction."

Solona nodded "Neria will come with me. Crowler, Zane and Sereda will be better out here; their monsters can take out the walls."

Fiona nodded and then the tent opened and the Spellcaster known as Alain entered "Apologizes Grand Enchanter, but we just brought in a large group of people."

"Are they here to join us?" Fiona asked

Alain shook his head "They didn't really know what was going on but they said they were looking for some people and one of them matched our friend here." He looked at Solona "One of them said she was his daughter."

"Wait, did he tell you his name?" Solona asked having a feeling who it was.

Alain nodded "Yes, he said his name was Aristide."

That did it for Solona and she quickly left the tent with Crowler, Zane, Sereda and Neria following her leaving the others wondering what was going on.

...

"Do you really think she's here?" Chazz asked

Aristide along with Jaden, Chazz, Alexis, Avexis and Theorn stood in the camp surrounded by an army. After finally making it out of the forest, they had travelled and tried to find any news of Solona and the others. They were shocked to see entire towns destroyed and they learned of the ongoing war. They had decided to try and find this army that was being gathered and try to see if they knew where Solona was.

Eventually they had encountered a scout who was part of this army that was being gathered. After Aristide had described Solona, the scout had informed them that he knew someone like her and agreed to take them to the main camp.

"I sure hope it is." Alexis added "I want to see her safe."

"We all do Alexis." Jaden stated "And hopefully we can find Daylen and the others as well."

Theorn just watched the tent where the Scout who had brought them here had gone into and then watched as someone ran out of the tent and was followed by several other people. Theorn gasped which alerted Jaden and the others who looked at what Theorn was staring at and they too gasp. There stood Solona and Aristide saw several others with her, Dr Crowler, Zane, Neria and Sereda were with her as well.

Solona looked at her father for just a few seconds before running into his arms "Father!" she gasped

"Solona!" Aristide gasped and the two embraced each other "I'm glad to see that you're safe."

"I'm glad to see you all as well." Solona stated "Somehow I knew that you would all come to try and find me."

"I just wish that our plan went better than it did." Jaden stated "We still have to find your brother as well as Aedan and Kallian."

Solona sighed and looked at Neria. Neria looked at them "I have some bad news about that." She stated

"What kind of bad news?" Chazz questioned

"I was with Daylen, Aedan and Kallian when we arrived here." Neria stated "We met with the Spellcaster faction and we were eventually reunited with Solona not too long ago. But we were attacked by the Warrior Faction."

"I still can't believe what goes on here." Jaden stated "Duelling is about having fun, not a way of hurting people."

"Well that's how life works here Jaden." Zane stated

"It does." Solona stated "Daylen, Aedan and Kallian were captured and now their imprisoned."

"Where?" Jaden asked

"Grand Enchanter Fiona believes they're imprisoned in the prison of Aeonar." Crowler stated "It's a prison that the Warriors take their captives."

"Then what are we waiting for." Jaden stated "We need to get there and save them."

Solona grabbed Jaden by the shoulders "We can't get to Aeonar right now." She stated "Aeonar is in Warrior territory and we need to get a clear passage to Aeonar first."

"And we will have that passage soon." Fiona stated as she walked out "Once we take Redcliffe, we can march into Warrior territory and rescue your friends from Aeonar." Fiona then explained the plan to the new arrivals.

"Well we want to help however we can." Alexis stated "Our friends would have done the same."

Solona nodded in agreement "Jaden and Alexis will come with me along with Theorn." She stated "Chazz and my father will be better use here. Chazz's A to Z can help destroy Redcliffe's walls."

"Good, we attack at dawn." Fiona stated

The Spellcaster army rested that night so that they were ready to fight the coming day, as dawn arrived, everyone was woken up and Anders got all of the duellists ready to fight. They slowly marched towards Redcliffe and within an hour, they were in position. The scouts were no match for the army and they were sent running back within the Walls. When the army was in position, Anders stepped forward to address them.

"Today is a big day in this war." He shouted "For hundreds of years the Warriors have claimed that they are the saviours of this world and that the Spellcasters were the villains. While it may be true that there are some of us who like to raid, the Warriors are no better. Many of you with us today aren't even part of the Spellcaster Faction. The Warriors occupied your lands, turned your friends into crystals and demanded that you work for them. We spellcasters did not do any of this and today we strike back. The only way for this war to end is for the Warrior Faction to be brought down and that begins today. Now are you with me?" the crowd cheered "Will you fight?" they cheered again "Will we triumph?" the crowd cheered much louder this time "Then fight, duel and defeat these Warriors and win back this land!"

Crowler, Zane, Theorn and Chazz stood next to each other "That was some speech." Crowler stated

"Well he is a military leader." Zane stated

"And I guess it's time to summon our monsters." Chazz stated as everyone began activating their Duel Disks.

"I'm offering fire support." Crowler stated "I summon Ancient Gear Soldier and equip him with Ancient Gear Tank" Crowler's Soldier appeared on the field and jumped into the large tank that increased his power.

Zane smiled "Let's see how these Warriors handle the power of my Cyber Dragon." He said as Cyber Dragon appeared on the field.

"Why have three weaker machines when they can combine into one. I bring out X, Y and Z and combine them into XYZ Dragon Cannon." Chazz's three machines appeared and combined into one.

Anders smirked as the other people began summoning their own powerful monsters and a number of powerful spellcaster monsters appeared. Then the Spellcasters began firing on the Warrior Faction.

On a cliff overlooking the battle, Solona stood watching along with Jaden, Fiona, Neria and Alexis. "The battle has started." She stated

"Which means we must move." Fiona stated "Where is this entrance?"

"It's by the old Windmill." Solona replied pointing at an old Windmill which had been demolished by the Warriors "The entrance will take us into Redcliffe's dungeons and then we can get to the Throne room. Hopefully we can find the Warrior Leader and take him out."

"Cut the head off the snake." Jaden smiled "I like it."

"We're probably going to face some kind of resistance along the way." Alexis stated

"Alexis is right." Solona stated "The Warriors probably know about this tunnel which is why we're going together. If we run into trouble one of us will have to stay and duel them."

"Listen, no matter what, I'm the one who will be duelling the leader here." Fiona stated "I'm the leader of the Spellcasters, its only right that I duel the leader here."

"Alright, now we should get moving." Theorn stated and then they all headed towards the Windmill and towards the secret tunnel.

"Take them out!" Karras ordered from the balcony of the palace as he watched the battle. The Spellcaster army was throwing everything they had at them but the Warriors were holding strong and his army brought out powerful Warrior monsters including Gilford the Lightning, Gearfried the Swordmaster and a Synchro monster known as Crimson Blader. These powerful monsters were stronger than the Spellcasters army and Gilford brought down a powerful lightning storm onto the Spellcaster Army destroying several monsters.

As Karras watched, he was approached by one of his messengers "Ser Karras." He greeted "Our lookouts have informed us that the Spellcaster Leader is coming through the secret tunnel along with the dragon duelists."

"I thought they would use the tunnel that the girl used to escape." Karras stated "Sent some men down to intercept them, but I want the spellcaster leader and the dragon girl brought to me in my tower."

"As you command Ser Karras." He stated and then he left Karras alone on the balcony and he looked at a blue haired boy who had summoned another mechanical dragon.

On the Battlefield, Gilford the Legend had made it difficult to fight as she had been equipped with several equip spells which made it very hard to find a monster to overcome him "We need to find a way to defeat that Gilford!" he yelled to his men and jumped out of the way as Gilford sent a lightning strike which destroyed his monster known as Cosmo Queen thanks to Gilford's equip spells.

"I've got it!" the blue haired boy that Anders knew was called Zane "With Photon Generator Unit, I sacrifice my two Cyber Dragons to summon Cyber Laser Dragon." Zane's two Cyber Dragons vanished and were replaced with the mechanical dragon with the laser cannon on the tale "And thanks to his special ability, I can take out a monster with more attack points, take out Gilford with Blue Lightning Lash." The laser on the tale fired a blue laser beam which struck Gilford and destroyed him.

"Way a go Zane!" Crowler cheered "Now I summon Ancient Gear Hydra." Crowler's mechanical Hydra appeared on the field and began attacking the weaker Warriors.

"And I'll have Thestalos the Firestorm Monarch heat up this battle." Aristide added as his Firestorm Monarch appeared and began burning the areas around him.

Anders watched and while the Spellcasters were fighting on, he knew that Fiona and Solona had to take out the commander soon otherwise they could get overwhelmed.

Fiona along with Solona and her friends made their way through the escape tunnel so that they could find their way to Redcliffe castle. After climbing down the ladder, they carefully walked through the tunnel so that they could stay alert for any traps that the Warriors may have left for them. They eventually made it to the dungeons.

The dungeons of Redcliffe had not been used while Teagan was in charge but it seemed the Warriors made good use of the dungeons as they were filled with people. Some of them Solona recognised as being from the village.

"We need to get these people out" Solona stated

"I agree but we don't have time right now." Fiona stated "They'll only slow us down, we have to get to the throne room. We also don't have the key."

"But I do." A voice called and they watched as a man wearing armour with the Warrior symbol on his chest approached them "Ser Karras had a feeling that you would use the secret passage."

"Well you're not going to stop us!" Jaden shouted

The Warrior laughed "You're not getting past me. Karras wants you captured and taken to his tower."

"We will be getting past you." Theorn stated as he activated his duel disk "And thank you for telling us where your leader is. You guys go on ahead, I've got this one." Fiona looked at him before nodding and she along with the others ran up a nearby stairway and Theon blocked the Warrior's way "You're not going to be the one to stop them; you'll have to face me."

The Warrior sneered "That's fine by me, Karras wanted the leader and the dragon girl to deal with himself."

"Well they won't go down that easy. Theorn smirked as he drew his opening hand.

Solona led Fiona, Jaden, Neria and Alexis up some stairs. As she knew the way, Fiona had her lead them and soon they made it out of the dungeons and were now in the castle. The castle was mostly empty as Karras had called the Warriors out to the walls to fight the Spellcaster Army. They hadn't run into any trouble yet but just as they reached the stairs to go up the large tower where Karras was, they were spotted by two Warriors.

"Hey, where do you think you're going?" one snapped

The other laughed "It seems that the Spellcaster Leader thought she could sneak her way into the castle with some of her troops to take out Karras. They're going to make excellent fuel for our power"

Jaden narrowed his eyes at them "Duelling is supposed to be about having fun, not for hurting people!" he snapped "I've got these two."

"Not without me you've not!" Alexis stated "I'm staying as well." She activated her duel disk as well "We'll be fine, stop Karras!"

Solona and Fiona nodded and ran up the spiral staircase as Jaden and Alexis faced the two warriors approaching them, both had a look of determination on their faces.

Solona and Fiona soon arrived in the chambers that were at the top of the tower, these chambers had belonged to Teagan when he ruled Redcliffe but now Karras was using them as his headquarters.

Karras was waiting for them at the far end of the room as the two of them barged through the door. "Somehow I had a feeling that we would meet here." Karras stated "But I get to take out two birds with one stone. The Spellcaster leader and the Dragon girl will be defeated and I will be rewarded greatly and unlike Rylock, I don't fool around. Soon the blight on this world known as the Spellcasters will fall"

Fiona glared at Karras "Your people have brought a lot of pain and suffering to the people of this world Karras!" she spat "You say we're the bad guys but you're no better. You think you're better than everyone else but you just want to conquer this world."

Karras laughed "That's the plan. Once the Warriors rule this world, we can bring order to this chaotic world."

"This world was just fine before the war!" Fiona hissed "You were the ones who started this war, not us but we will stop you!"

Karras laughed "Your army will fail here!" he sneered "I will personally deal with the both of you and when I present you to your army, they will scatter and it's only a matter of time before they crumble before our might!"

Solona glared at him "You'll never win!" she hissed "We will stop you right here, right now."

"Even if you defeat me, the Warriors are far from finished." Karras smirked "But for now, I'll deal with the Spellcaster, I'll deal with you later."

"Fine by me!" Fiona snarled "I wanted to be the one to defeat you anyway." She activated her duel disk along with Karras and both of them drew 5 cards.

"DUEL!"

Fiona: 8000
Karras: 8000

"The first move is mine," stated Fiona, "I'll start by setting a monster face-down along with another card. That will do for now."

"Pathetic! It's my turn, I draw," sniggered Karras, "I'll start by summoning Ninja Grandmaster Hanzo in attack mode." A dark masked warrior with a purple cape appeared on Karras' field and showed off what looked like karate skills, kicking his legs high, (Level 4, 1800 ATK, 1000 DEF)

"When he is normal summoned, I can add one Ninjitsu Art card from my deck to my hand, like Ninjitsu Art of Decoy to my hand," Karras said as he revealed the trap he added to his hand. "Now Hanzo, attack her face down monster!" he commanded as Hanzo kicked the face down monster which turned out to be a black hedgehog with strings attached to it (Level 3: 800 ATK, 1800 DEF)

"Same attack as her monster's defence, so it isn't destroyed," Solona said to herself.

"When Shaddoll Hedgehog is flipped face up, I can add a Shaddoll Spell or trap card to my hand, like El Shaddoll Fusion." Fiona stated as she added the spell to her hand.

"Fine then, I'll lay 2 cards face down and end my turn." Karras snarled

"I'm up then," Fiona said as she drew her next card, "I'll activate the field spell, Curse of the Shadow Prison." The area surrounding the duelling field changed from the insides of the tower into a canyon with a dark mist in between the two duelists.

"Next I activate El Shaddoll Fusion, fusing the Shaddoll Hedgehog on my field with Shaddoll Dragon from my hand," Fiona stated as Hedgehog and a dragon with strings attached went into a whirlpool and combined. "Wizardry of two Shaddolls, now combine to show our might, I fusion summon El Shaddoll Winda!" Fiona chanted as a green haired boy stood on top of what looked like a winged dragon landed on the field. (Level 5: 2200 ATK, 800 DEF)

"Now Curse of the Shadow prison's effect activates, whenever a Shaddoll monster is sent to my graveyard, it gains 1 Spellstone counter." (Curse: 2 counters) "For each counter it has, each of your monsters lose 100 attack points," Fiona stated as Karras saw his Hanzo coughing a black dust. (Hanzo: 1800 – 1600ATK)

"I'm not done yet, Dragon and Hedgehog's effects activate in my graveyard, Hedgehog allows me to add Shaddoll Beast to my hand, and dragon destroys one of your spell or trap cards, I'll target the face down on the right." Fiona declared as the right face down was destroyed, which turned out to be Rivalry of the Warlords.

"Come on, is your turn going to end this century!" Karras asked in frustration.

"Well I'm sorry you can't keep up," Fiona stated "Winda, attack Hanzo," Fiona said as Winda fired a dark blast at Hanzo, engulfing him.

Fiona: 8000

Karras: 7400

"I'll end my turn." Fiona said.

"I draw!" Karras sneered "First since you are the only one that has any monsters on the field, I special summon Earth Armor Ninja from my hand." A brown ninja punched the air as he appeared onto the field. (Level 5: 1600-1400ATK, 1200 DEF)

"That was a waste Karras, when Winda is on the field, you're only allowed to special summon one monster each round," Fiona stated.

"Whatever, you swine," Karras cursed, "I'll also summon Aqua Armour Ninja in attack mode." A blue ninja kickboxed it's a way onto the field. (Level 4: 1800 – 1600 ATK, 1000 DEF) "Then I'll activate Solidarity, as long as I have only warrior type monsters in my graveyard…"

"Then all your warriors gain 800 attack points, yeah I know," Fiona said.

(Earth: 1400-2200 ATK)

(Aqua: 1600 – 2400 ATK)

"One of my favourite strategies and your worst nightmares, now Aqua, attack El Shaddoll Winda!" Karras yelled as Aqua punched Winda in the face, shattering him.

Fiona: 7800

Karras: 7400

(Curse: 3 counters)

(Aqua: 2400-2300 ATK)

(Earth: 2200-2100 ATK)

"When Winda is sent to my graveyard, I can add El Shaddoll Fusion from my graveyard back to my hand." Fiona stated.

"Whatever, Earth Armour, attack the scumbag directly," Karras commanded as Earth Armor punched Fiona in the face, knocking her to the ground.

Fiona: 5700

Karras: 7400

"Fiona!" yelled Solona, "Are you ok."

"I'm fine thanks, Fiona stated, "It'll take more than just a punch to keep this woman down." Fiona got back on her feet.

"Whatever, I set a card and end my turn." Karras said.

"I'm up then," Fiona stated as she drew her next card. "I'll activate El Shaddoll Fusion again, this time, I'll use Shaddoll Beast in my hand and your Aqua Armour Ninja."

"What!? Is that possible" Solona questioned

"It is Solona, I use Curse of the Shadow prison's effect, by removing 3 Spellstone counters from it, I can use one of your monsters to fusion summon a Shaddoll Fusion monster." She said as Beast and Aqua Armor Ninja encircled a whirlpool in front of the two duelists. "Now the darkness of the Shaddolls and the power of water, now become one and bring an ice cold nature to our magic, I fusion summon El Shaddoll Anoyatyllis!" Fiona yelled as a large person with wings engulfed in ice appeared on Fiona's field (Level 9: 2700 ATK, 2000 DEF)

"That's a powerful monster," Solona said.

"Using my monsters to fusion summon, eh? I should expect no less from you." Karras said

"When Beast is sent to my graveyard, I can draw 1 card." Fiona said. "Now, Anoyatyllis, attack Earth Armour Ninja," she yelled, but Karras responded with a trap

"I activate Ninjitsu Art of Decoy, now you can't destroy Earth Armor Ninja," he said

"But you still take damage." Fiona stated the obvious as a gust of cold wind shivered Karras slightly.

Fiona: 5700

Karras: 7000

"I draw," Karras said as he drew his next card. "Her monster forbids me from summoning monsters from my hand or graveyard with a spell or trap, so this Monster Reborn is useless for the time being." Karras thought as the card he drew was Monster Reborn.

"I activate the spell Armor Ninjitsu Art of Alchemy, now by destroying Ninjitsu Art of Decoy, I draw 2 cards." Karras said as Decoy was removed, allowing his to draw twice. "Then I'll activate a field spell of my own, Hidden Village of Ninjitsu Arts!" Fiona's field was gone and was replaced by a dark canyon with a tall tower. "Now that your field spell's gone, Earth Armour's attack points return to normal." Karras said (EAN: 2300-2400 ATK)

"Now I summon Flame Armour Ninja!" A red warrior showed off its quick reflexes as he landed on the field (Level 4: 1700-2500 ATK, 1000 DEF) "Then I'll use his effect, once a turn, he can increase the level of a Ninja monster by one, so I'll increase Flame's level to 5."

"Two level 5 monsters, making out a XYZ monster are you," Fiona questioned.

"Be prepared Fiona," Solona said from the side-lines.

The two ninjas jumped and dived into a portal on the ground and a white beam of light enlightened the field. "Two ninjas now join together to provide our fellow warriors with protective duties, I XYZ summon Crimson Shadow Armour Ninja!" Karras yelled as a red ninja with long red hair showed off its karate skills with two circles of light around him. (Rank 5: 2400-3200 ATK, 1700 DEF)

"That Solidarity card is proving a problem, that Ninja is stronger than your monster Fiona," Solona said.

"Now Crimson Shadow, attack Anoyatyllis," Karras yelled as Crimson Shadow sliced its way through Anoyatillis, destroying it.

Fiona: 5200

Karras: 7000

"Anoyatyllis gets back El Shaddoll Fusion from my graveyard," Fiona said

"Yeah, yeah, I set a card and end my turn." Karras sneered.

Meanwhile, down in the dungeons, Theorn was struggling to overcome as his opponent had got him down to his last 3000 life points already. "I activate Release Restraint, sacrificing Gearfried the Iron Knight to bring out the almighty Gearfried the Swordmaster!" his opponent yelled as a large warrior with twin swords appeared. (Level 7: 2600 ATK, 2200 DEF)

"Then I'll equip him with Divine Sword giving him 300 ATK, and when he is equipped with a card, your monster is destroyed." He said as Theorn's Dalish Warleader (2600 ATK) was destroyed. "Direct attack!" he yelled as Gearfried knocked Theorn to the ground

Beneath Fiona, Solona and Neria at the bottom of the stairs and Karras, Jaden and Alexis were trying to combine their strengths to get over their opponents' Idaten the Conqueror Star (Level 10: 3000 ATK, 2200 DEF)

"Use my Flame Wingman if you need to Alexis," Jaden said.

"I will, I use Machine Angel Ritual, using Jaden's flame wingman and my Cyber Angel Natasha when added together total at least level 10, allowing me to bring out Cyber Angel Vrash!" Alexis yelled as her powerful Ritual monster appeared on the field (Level 10: 3000 ATK, 2000 DEF)

Back in the tower, Fiona rose up and drew her next card. "Don't think you can fusion summon again, I activate Anti-Spell Fragrance, now you can't activate any spell cards in your hand, and you can only set them on the field and must wait until next turn to activate them, if you get a next turn!" Karras laughed.

"Terrific!" Fiona cursed, "I'll just have to set a monster and then place 3 cards face down to end my turn.

"Not much else you can do without the ability to use your spells," Karras sniggered, "I draw, I'll use my set card, Magic Planter, sending Anti-Spell Fragrance to the grave to draw 2 cards." Anti-Spell disappeared and Karras drew twice.

"Why would he do that? He locked Fiona out of using her fusion spells with that Anti-spell but now with it gone, she can use them again," Solona pointed out.

"He's strengthening his hand to try to summon his best monster," Fiona guessed.

"Now I summon Masked Ninja Ebisu!" Karras sniggered as a muscular green caped man appeared on the field. (Level 4: 1200-2000 ATK, 1800 DEF) "Once a turn, for every Ninja monster on my field, I can send the same number of spell or traps on your field back to your hand. I'll choose the far left and far right." He declared.

"I'll activate one of the cards you targeted, Mystical Space Typhoon, to destroy your Solidarity!" Fiona yelled as a typhoon blew away Karras' Solidarity

(Masked Ninja: 2000-1200 ATK)

Crimson Shadow: (3200-2400ATK)

"Very well, Crimson Shadow, attack her face down monster!" Karras commanded as Crimson Shadow sliced through Fiona's face down monster.

"You attacked my Cyber Jar! Due to its flip effect, all our monsters are destroyed." Fiona said but Karras was laughing.

"You really think my Ninjas can be destroyed so easily? My Crimson Shadow's special ability activates, by using one overlay unit, my ninjas can't be destroyed but your card effects or in battle!" Karras sniggered again.

"Even if your monsters can't be destroyed, Cyber Jar's second effect still activates, we pick draw 5 cards of our decks, if any of them are level 4 or below monsters, we can summon them to the field. Since it's your turn, you get to summon first." Fiona said

Karras picked up his top 5 cards, "I'll summon Ninja Grandmaster Sasuke and Air Armor Ninja in attack mode, while the other three cards go to my hand." A white masked ninja and a ninja with stealthy speed appeared.

(Sasuke: Level 4: 1800 ATK, 1000 DEF)

(Air Armour: Level 4: 1400 ATK, 1400 DEF)

"But since you summoned those two monsters at the same time, it triggers my trap card, Darkfall. It activates when you summon at least two monsters at the same time, now they're both sent to your graveyard along with any other copies in your hand or deck. Since it doesn't destroy them, Your Crimson Shadow Ninja is powerless to stop it!" Fiona said as Sasuke and Air Amor disappeared from Karras' field along with another copy of them each in his deck.

"Now I'll summon Shaddoll Falco, Naelshaddoll Ariel, Shaddoll Dragon and Shaddoll Hound, each in face down defence mode while the remaining card goes to my hand," Fiona stated. "Now I dare you to attack one of these face down cards." Fiona said to lure Karras in.

"Of course I still attack, that's what us warriors are all about, Masked Ninja, attack the facedown monster on the right!"

"Bad choice, you attacked Shaddol Dragon, due to its flip effect, I can send one of your cards back to your hand, like Crimson Shadow but it actually goes to your Extra Deck." Fiona said, knowing Crimson Shadow's destruction immunity was no use to Dragon's effect.

"You got lucky this time!" Karras said, "I'll place a face down and end my turn."

"I draw," Fiona said, "First I'll Flip summon Shaddoll Falco." A small black bird with strings attached stood face up. (Level 2: 400 ATK, 200 DEF) "Due to its effect, I can bring back a Shaddoll monster from my graveyard facedown, like Shaddoll Dragon! Then, I'll use Foolish Burial Goods sending Resh Shadoll Incarnation to my graveyard. Then I'll use Incarnation's effect from my graveyard, by banishing it and El Shaddoll Anoyatilis, I can flip Shaddoll Falco back to face-down defence."

"Then, I'll flip summon Naelshaddoll Ariel!" A little girl surrounded by a yellow bulb was now face up. (Level 4: 1000 ATK, 1800 DEF) "When she is flipped face up, I can bring back one of my banished Shaddoll monsters, come back El Shaddoll Anoyatyllis!" The boy with icy wings reappeared. (Level 9: 2700 ATK, 2000 DEF)

"Now I flip summon Shaddoll Hound (Level 4: 1700 ATK, 1000 DEF) "Due to his flip effect, I can add Shaddoll Beast from my graveyard back to my hand. But I'm yet to normal summon as well so I'll sacrifice my face down Shaddoll Falco to summon Shaddoll Beast." A beast like monster appeared on Fiona's field (Level 5: 2200 ATK, 1700 DEF)

"When are you going to attack, you're boring me now." Karras said in boredom.

"Right now," Fiona said, "Anoyatyllis attack Ebisu"

"I activate the effect of Hidden Village, by banishing Earth Armour Ninja from my graveyard, Ebisu cannot be destroyed once per turn." Karras said.

"He may be safe for now but your life points aren't," Solona said from the side-lines

Fiona: 5200

Karras: 5500

"Now Beast, attack and finish Ebisu off," Fiona shouted as Beast lunged at Ebisu destroying it for good this time.

Fiona: 5200

Karras: 4500

"Now, Shaddoll Hound attack him directly," Fiona shouted but Karras had another trick up his sleeve.

"I activate Aqua Armour Ninja's special ability from my graveyard, when you declare a direct attack, I can banish it to negate the attack." Karras said.

"Fine, Arial will attack you directly," Arial sent a set of bubbles Karras' way

Fiona: 5200

Karras: 3500

"My Battle phase it's over yet, I activate my face down, El Shaddoll Fusion, fusing Shaddoll Dragon and Shaddoll Falco to fusion summon another El Shaddoll Winda." Another green haired boy standing on a sharp teethed monster appeared. (Level 5: 2200 ATK, 800 DEF). "Attack him directly!" Winda thrust forward and gave Karras a headbutt knocking him over but quickly got back on his feet.

Fiona: 5200

Karras: 1300

"What a shame, you couldn't finish me off this turn," Karras said.

"Maybe, but now I have the full advantage., I set a card and end my turn." Fiona said to him.

Back on the Battlefield, Chazz, Zane, Aristade and Crowler were making good work of plummeting the warriors of their resources until one of the warriors which was Gilford the Lighting obliterated everyone's monsters on the spot. "Now what do we do!" Anders shouted.

"Let the Chazz do his thing!" Anders recognized the voice as Chazz, "I activate the trap Return from the Different Dimension, by paying half our life points, we can summon as many banished monsters as we can!" as Chazz, Zane and Crowler brought back their monsters that had been banished caused by one of the Warriors' Dimensional Fissure, regaining the upper hand. "Now I combine Assault Core, Buster Drake and Crush Wyvern to form ABC Dragon Buster!" (Level 8, 3000 ATK, 2800 DEF). "Dragon Buster, destroy Gilford the Lightning!" Chazz yelled as Gilford got destroyed.

"Nicely done, we keep this up, we should break through." Anders and Zane said at the same time.

…

In the dungeons, Theorn had finally managed to come up with a way to come back to win this duel. "I activate Dalish Funeral to bring back Dalish First." A spellcaster with a long staff appeared. (Level 8, 2900 ATK, 2600 DEF) "Then by sacrificing him and banishing Dalish soldier from my graveyard, I can bring out the all powerful Dalish Keeper!" A older, stronger version of Dalish First appeared on the field. (Level 10, 3500 ATK, 3000 DEF)

"He gains 200 attack points for each Dalish monster in my graveyard, I have 10 so he gains 200 attack points.

(Dalish Keeper: 3500-5500 ATK)

"Finally I'll equip him with Keeper Staff so he gains another 500 attack points.

(Keeper: 5500-6000 ATK)

"Keeper, take out Gearfried now!" Keeper swung his staff destroying it.

Theorn: 100

Opponent: 1600

"I'm afraid it's over for you because Keeper staff allows Dalish keeper to attack again.

"No way!" the warrior shouted.

"Yes way!" Theorn responded, "Dalish Keeper, attack him directly and end this duel!" Dalish Keeper fired a laser from his staff, engulfing the warrior causing his drop the key as he fell to the ground.

Theorn: 100 (winner)

Opponent: 0

"I'll take that thank you," Theorn said as he grabbed the key and ran to free the prisoners. Just as they were about to run, Theorn said, "Guys, stay in here for the time being, it's not safe out there. I'll return to you when the battle is over." The prisoners were confused at first but the sound of firing made them understood Theorn's words. Theorn ran off to find Jaden and Alexis.

Back in the Throne room, Karras was preparing his counter-attack. "I draw," he looked at it and smirked. "You put so much effort last turn that I almost feel bad about doing this."

"Really now," Fiona asked, not fooled by Karras' words.

"Nope, I activate Raigeki destroying all of your monsters!" Fiona's Shaddoll monsters all got destroyed.

"When Ariel is sent to the graveyard, I can banish 3 monsters from your graveyard, I choose both your Sasukes and your Hanzo," Fiona said, banishing the three warriors from Karras' graveyard. "Also Winda gets back El Shaddoll Fusion."

"You won't get the chance to use it this turn, I activate Card Destruction, so we each discard our hands and draw the same number of cards we discarded." Karras said as he discarded 3 cards and drew 3 cards while Fiona discarded El shaddoll Fusion and drew a card.

"Now I'll use my set card, Monster Reborn to bring back Flame Armour Ninja." The red ninja emerged back on the field. (Level 4, 1700 ATK, 1000 DEF) "Then I summon, Upstart Golden Ninja in attack mode." A ninja with blue clothing and a red cape appeared on the field. "Level 4, 500 ATK, 1800DEF) "Now I'll use Hidden Valley's second effect, when a Ninja is summoned, I can add Ninjitsu art of Decoy to my hand. Then I'll use Golden Ninja's effect, by discarding a trap card, like Ninjitsu art of Decoy, I can summon a Ninja from my deck in defence mode, I choose Yellow Ninja." A yellow clothed ninja performed karate as he landed on the field (Level 4, 1900 ATK, 1800 DEF)

"I overlay by Upstart Golden Ninja and my Yellow Ninja to build the overlay network!" Karras yelled as Upstart and Yellow entered a whirlpool. "Ninja with double blades, now arise to slice our enemies to shreds! I XYZ summon Blade Armour Ninja!" A purple ninja with two blades, one in each hand stood up strong on Karras' field. (Rank 4: 2200 ATK, 1000 DEF)

"Another XYZ summon, I should have expected no less." Fiona said.

"Now I'll use Blade Armour's ability, by using one overlay unit, it can target itself to make two attack this round. "

"Fiona, if both of those attacks connect you'll lose the duel!" Solona shouted

"Blade Armor, attack her directly." Karras yelled.

"Wait a moment; I activate the trap, Shaddoll Core which summons itself as a monster in defence mode." Fiona said as a monster containing multiple smaller creatures appeared to defend Fiona. (Level 9: 1450 ATK, 1950 ATK)

"No problem, Blade Armour, destroy Shaddoll Core!" Karras commanded as Bade Armor sliced through Shaddoll Core. "Now for his second attack, attack her directly!" Blade Armor kick boxed Fiona in the face knocking her to the ground.

Fiona: 3000

Karras: 1300

"Now Flame Armour Ninja, attack her directly as well," Karras yelled as Red Armour punched Fiona in the face while she was still lying on the ground.

Fiona: 1300

Karras: 1300

Solona noticed this and took offence to the fact that Fiona was still being attacked while still on the ground. "YOU!" she shouted, "You dare think this is an honourable form of combat!" as she glared at Karras.

"It's what she deserves for polluting our world," Karras sniggered.

"You get your filthy fingers on any of my friends and you'll regret it, mark my words!" yelled Solona as she helped Fiona get back on her feet.

Downstairs, Alexis and Jaden were preparing for an all-out attack on their opponents' new monster, Shura the Combat Star (Level 12: 0 ATK, 0 DEF) "I activate Fusion Gate!" Jaden yelled as a purple field with a green net appeared before the four duelists. "You can forget about Polymerization because this card lets me Fusion Summon without it, however, the fusion material do get removed play. I fuse Elemental Hero Bubbleman and Elemental Hero Burstinitrix to summon Elemental Hero Absolute Zero!" A white warrior appeared on Jaden and Alexis' field. (Level 8: 2500 ATK, 200 DEF)

"But I'm done yet, I can use Fusion Gate to fusion summon again. Alexis, let's do this together" Jaden stated

"Absolutely," Alexis replied

"We fuse Elemental Hero Absolute Zero with Cyber Angel Vrash!" they yelled in unison. "Hero of the arctic storm and the light shining on an angel, now become one and shed a light into the future! We fusion summon Elemental Hero The Shining." They chanted together as a new silver warrior with golden armour in the form of the sun shone onto the field. (Level 8: 2600 ATK, 2100 DEF)

"Since Absolute Zero left the field, all of your monsters are automatically destroyed!" Jaden said as Shura shattered to dust.

"When Shura is destroyed by a card effect, we can summon another Idatin, the Conqueror Star from our Extra Deck," sniggered the opposing warriors.

"Oh no you won't," Alexis responded, "I activate the trap Solemn Judgement, by paying half our life points…"

Jaden/Alexis: 175

Opponents: 3100

"We negate the summoning of your Idatin!" she finished as Idatin never hit the field. "The way is clear Jaden" Alexis said as Theorn arrived on the scene just in time.

"The Shining gets 300 attack points for each Elemental Hero that I banished, in which case there's three so he gains a 900 point boost." Jaden said (The Shining: 2600-3500 ATK)

"It's over, Go Hero Shining, end this duel!" Jaden shouted as The Shining fired a shining beam at the two warriors lay on the ground, defeated.

Jaden/Alexis: 175 (winner)

Opponents: 0

"Well done, both of you," Theorn said.

"We better head up to Fiona and Solona, I just hope they're ok," Alexis replied. The three carried on up the stairs to where Solona, Fiona and Karras were. When they got there, Fiona was now standing on her feet again.

"Stay back, all of you!" Fiona hissed, "This battle is between me and him." She glared at Karras.

"Think what you want, but we will conquer the world and bring peace to everyone, you're the ones who are polluting it with your fellow freaks of magic!" Karras declared.

"And does taking people hostage or making other people starve even when they had no involvement in this war make you any better!" Fiona shrieked.

"Your spellcasters caused the war to start in the first place so you must be erased from this world to prevent it happening again!" Karras snarled

"Those were rogue! They weren't real members of our faction. However, I do regret not stopping them all those years ago when I had the chance, but now we are going to put things right and I'll show you why!"

"What could she had meant by those rogue spellcasters," Jaden asked.

"I know what she meant, but it's best we save that for another day," Solona said

"It's my turn, I draw." Fiona yelled as she drew a new card. "I activate Shaddoll Fusion, it lets me use monsters in my hand and field to fusion summon. But here's the interesting thing, since you have a monster that was summoned from the Extra Deck, I can use fusion materials in my deck instead of my hand and field."

"What!?" Jaden, Alexis, Solona and Theorn gasped but Karras was unmoved.

"I fuse Reshaddoll Wendi and Shaddoll Hedgehog from the deck! Two Shaddolls of different attributes, now become one and unite for justice! I fusion summon El Shaddoll Apkallone!" Fiona chanted as a new spellcaster with large rings appeared on the field (Level 6: 2500 ATK, 2000 DEF)

"Hedgehog's effect lets me add Shaddoll Beast to me hand," Fiona said as she added Beast to her hand, "then I'll use my trap, Purushaddoll Aeon, by sending Shaddoll Beast to my graveyard, El Shaddoll Apkallone gains another 1000 attack points." (Apkallone: 2500-3500 ATK)

"Finally, I'll activate the spell Giant Trunade, now all your spell and trap cards return to your hand." Fiona said as Karras realised his face down cards could not help him. He also realised that there wasn't anything he could do.

"How can I let this happen, we're indestructible!" Karras yelled in anger. "You'll pay for this!"

"Look at yourself, you brought this on yourself," Theorn called from the sidelines.

"It's time to avenge all those prisoners and all who have suffered in the Bufferlands due to your greed. Now El Shaddoll Apkallone, attack Blade Armor Ninja and end this duel!" Fiona called as Apkallone fired a beam of black light, destroying Blade Armor Ninja, leaving Karras nearly unconscious on the ground.

Fiona: 1300 (winner)

Karras: 0

"Alright" Jaden cheered "She did it."

Fiona walked over to Karras who groaned "You'll pay for this!" he growled "You may have won the battle but you will lose the war! Meredith will come for you."

"Not today she won't!" Fiona hissed and punched Karras hard in the face and knocked him out. He took Karras' duel disk and looked at Solona; "now we announce our victory here" she stated "With Karras gone, many of the Warriors will lose heart in this battle I need you to get the Warrior's attention."

Solona nodded "I know just what to do!"

...

Outside, the Spellcaster army was throwing everything they had for one last attack on the walls. One last attack should hopefully break down the walls.

"Come on out, Cyber End Dragon!" Zane called as his three cyber dragons fused to form the three headed mechanical dragon.

"When two ancient machines combine into one, they form an unstoppable behemoth, I summon Ancient Gear Ultimate Golem!" Crowler shouted as Ancient Gear Golem, Wyvern and Soldier fused to form the massive Golem.

"I combine my powerful machines to summon my ultimate construct, say hello to A-Z Dragon Buster Cannon." Chazz stated as his ABC and XYZ combined into one monster.

"And finally, I sacrifice my Mobius the Frost Monarch to summon Ether the Heavenly Monarch." Aristide said as his most powerful monarch monster appeared.

"NOW ATTACK!" they all yelled at once and all four of the powerful monsters fired powerful blasts which were combined with blasts from other powerful monsters and soon there was an explosion which blew part of the wall apart.

"The Wall is breached!" Anders yelled "Charge into the gap!"

The Spellcaster army charged towards the wall and into the gap in the wall. Now the Warrior army was on the defence and they had lost some of their most powerful monsters but they weren't going down without a fight.

But they all heard a roar and they all turned around to see a large blue and white scaled dragon flying around the main tower that Karras used as his headquarters. Fiona stood on the balcony in front of Solona, Alexis, Jaden and Theorn.

"Attention Warriors!" Fiona called "You leader Ser Karras, has been beaten, your army is defeated." He threw down Karras' duel disk in front of the shocked warriors "You have lost this battle, surrender now and I will be lenient towards you. Resist and I will have no choice but to have you beaten."

The Warriors were all in shock and while a few were ready to fight till the end, a large number of Warriors had already lost hope in this war and began throwing their duel disks down. Some of the more aggressive Warriors tried to stop them but they were blasted by a shot from Chazz's A-Z.

Up in the tower, Solona watched as the remaining Warriors were taken into custody. They would be kept as prisoners of war and Fiona and Anders would try to get information from them. Fiona then looked at her "We did it." She stated "After being forced into a defensive war for so long, now we're on the offensive."

"This war is not over yet Fiona." Solona stated "And my friends are still being held prisoner."

"But taking Redcliffe is a great victory for us." Fiona stated "We are one step closer to rescuing your friends and one step closer to ending this war once and for all. Now we are taking the fight to the Warriors. We're attacking their territory now."

Solona just looked into the distance and hoped that her brother as well as Aedan and Kallian were okay.

Notes: Well another chapter finished and one of the Warrior Leaders has been defeated. Now just like the previous chapter, my brother wrote the duel for this chapter as he knew the Ninja deck but I will be writing duels as well, he won't be taking over writing all of the duels, only the ones that will involve a deck that I know very little about. Next I'll be working on a chapter of Mass Wars but I doubt I'll have that done before July.
