Grave Magician:

It had taken quite a while but now the Warriors and the Spellcaster Factions had teamed up to try and make a move against the Venatori. Thanks to the information given by Cassandra and Dorian, they knew a likely place that the Venatori might be searching would be a region known as the Western Approach, an area with little to no habitation. The area had been said to have once been a lush green farmland ripe for growing crops but hundreds of years ago, that all changed. It was said that this was where the Zombies and the Fiends first began their assault on the Ancient Dragon Faction when an experiment opened a great chasm known as the Abyssal Rift and they soon corrupted the land. The lush green lands was corrupted by the zombies and the fiends so much that the land turned to desert even after their defeat. Now the only thinks that grew here were the occasional trees in oasis and very poisonous roots known as deathroot.

The Warrior Faction did once control the area building several fortresses to try and keep an eye on the fiends and warriors after the defeat and also to try and mine minerals found in the area. However it soon became too costly to maintain these forts and so they were abandoned. The Warriors still had the old maps of the region and so had sent scouts to try and find a good place to set up a base camp before moving forward and also to try and get a better idea of what the Venatori presence was like in the area. After the first lot of scouts returned, they had informed them that there were several complications that prevented the group from having a strong presence straight away since it seemed the Venatori had a strong presence in the area. They had managed to make a base camp in the southern area near a set of old ruins and an old ritual tower once used by the Dragon Faction.

Dorian led the group from Kirkwall to the base camp, they had all agreed to stay together for now until they learnt more about what was going on before splitting up into their three separate groups. They all arrived at a large camp made up of tents and the head scout would meet them. The scout's name was a young woman called Harding who seemed to be a dwarf.

"So you must be Dorian." Harding greeted "Commander Cullen informed me that you would be arriving."

"Indeed." Dorian replied "Your scouts said that there were some complications here."

"There are I'm afraid." Harding replied "The Venatori have a much stronger presence here than we anticipated."

"How bad is it?" Cassandra asked

"It's bad." Harding replied "With the Venatori, the sandstorms and the vicious wildlife, we've barely have any presence here. Thankfully this camp is close to a natural oasis so water isn't much of an issue but we have Venatori activity at some old ruins to the east, which might be a good place to search. They also seem to have taken control of an old fortress known as Griffin Wing Keep which gives them a strong foothold in the region. The problem is that the way north is blocked by sulphur pits, the fumes make it hard to go north. Also the Venatori are searching the old prison known as Coracavus and they've locked the old gates blocking the pass. Now we can't go around the sulphur pits since the gates can only be unlocked from the inside."

"So what does that mean?" Dorian asked

"Well first of all we need to secure a camp further north so we can build a bridge over the pits and have a better chance of pushing east to the ruins the Venatori are searching." Harding replied "There is one more thing, there seems to be some strange things happening in the ruins just south of here. The Venatori seem to have left that place alone for some reason even though it is said to be the tomb of a very powerful warlord who fought against the fiends and zombies during the war."

"Why have the Venatori left it alone?" Cassandra asked

Harding shook her head "I don't know, although one of the scouts did see a single Venatori agent enter, he never returned and that was before we set up the base camp here. It might be worth checking out while we get the camp further north set up and secured and then you guys can split into your different groups. There's not much point now."

"Alright." Dorian said "We'll all go and check out these ruins together and then when we're ready and got that camp north set up, we'll decide which group will check out each Venatori sighting."

...

The gang soon gathered everyone and walked the short distance to the ruins located just south of the camp. They sure were ruins alright; they looked like some kind of old temple that seemed to be in the shape of a square building with pillars surrounding it. The pillars had all but collapsed leaving large square stones surrounding the area.

"It looks all ruined." Jaden commented

"That's because they're ruins." Alexis added

"Well what do you expect." Chazz huffed.

Aedan walked closer and began examining some of the worn carvings on the side "Too bad these carvings are too worn, I can't understand them."

"Whoever as buried here must have been someone important." Theorn suggested

"Or powerful." Kallian added.

As they all walked around the ruins, Jaden couldn't help but notice that something about these ruins looked very familiar "Hey Alexis." He called "Is it just me or does something about these ruins look very familiar to you."

Alexis looked at the shape of the ruins and soon she saw it too "Yeah." She agreed "They look very similar to the ruins back on Duel Academy Island when Banner took us on that field trip."

"They can't be the same." Theorn stated knowing what they were talking about "This place should have no connection with those ruins."

"I sure hope so." Alexis shuddered "Remember what happened when we were there."

Chazz looked at her "What did happen?" he asked as he had not come on the field trip at the time since he did not really care about the ruins.

"We all encountered some kind of tomb keepers who saw us as trespassers." Alexis explained "They would have buried us alive if Jaden hadn't beaten their chief in a duel."

"Oh yeah, apart from that coffins it was a sweet duel." Jaden cheerfully commented "Aside from the fact that I felt really attacks there."

"We never saw that." Daylen replied "We got taken to a different part of the ruins at that time and Solona was forced to duel against a Venatori member called Zero who turned out to be father."

"Now I'm glad I was busy that day." Sereda stated

"And I'm glad that Sera drew on my face." Kallian added "I mean I wouldn't want to have to go through that."

It was then that Alexis noticed something carved on one of the pillars "Hey Jaden, maybe these ruins are connected with the ones back on the island, take a look at this." Everyone gathered around the pillar Alexis was looking at which had a carving on "That looks just like your amulet, the one that you got half from the Gravekeeper chief."

"Hey you're right." Jaden said "Too bad I don't have it anymore, it's back at Duel Academy."

"If these ruins are connected to the Gravekeepers then it may be connected to the Shadow Games." Dorian suggested "Maybe we should get back to camp, it's never wise to mess with the shadows."

Theorn heard a noise and turned around and gasped "I'm afraid it might be a bit too late for that."

Everyone turned around and saw a familiar sight to some of them, it was a large group of soldiers that looked like the Gravekeeper Spear Soldiers and Guards. Jaden and Alexis remembered the time these same monsters had tried to punish them even after Jaden had beaten the Gravekeeper chief.

"Look here." One Spear Soldier commented

"Trespassers and interlopers." A guard commented

"Time for them to be punished." Another soldier added

"Punish, punish." They chanted as they began to step forward.

Jaden groaned "Oh not this again." He said as he raised his duel disk. Everyone else did the same.

Just before a fight could break out, a male voice called out "Stop!" the soldiers stopped advancing and parted ways to let a man dressed in black clothing and blond hair walk forward, Jaden recognised him as Gravekeeper's Descendent. "Mighty Warrior, I wondered if I would ever meet you again."

"Indeed." A female voice added and Jaden saw the spirit of Gravekeeper's Assailant step forward "What are you doing here?"

"It's a long story." Jaden said.

"Jaden, you know these people?" Dorian asked

"Oh yeah." Jaden commented cheerfully "I had a sweet duel with the Chief of these people once. It would have been better without having to rescue my friends from coffins."

"It's him alright." Descendant said to the Guards and Soldiers.

Alexis looked confused "How did you all get here, we're in a totally different Dimension from where we all last met."

"The Gravekeepers guard ancient tombs across the dimensions." Assailant replied "We were tasked with guarding the tomb of a mighty warlord here after we were warned by Gravekeeper's Oracle and Visionary that people were trying to steal the power of the great warlord buried here."

"The power of the Mighty Quintet Magician." Descendant finished.

"Quintet Magician?" Daylen questioned "I've never heard of it."

"He's a powerful Magician and was said to have trained both Dark Magician and other great Spellcasters, he's said to have power five times as great as any normal magician." Assailant replied

"Which is probably why the Venatori are after it." Cassandra commented.

"Come with us." Descendant ordered "If these raiders are enemies of your, our chief will want to know more about them if you know it."

Dorian looked at the others "I think it's best if we cooperate with them."

Jaden smiled "Don't worry guys, I know the chief, I can talk to him."

...

In a different set of ruins, the Venatori were searching for relics that might help the Elder One in his mission to locate the last remaining Old God Card, it was possibly even located in the very ruins being searched. The Western Approaching had been such an important location for the Venatori's operations that several medium ranked members had been sent to conduct operations. Luncanus had been sent to check out some kind of research outpost from the time of the Dragon Faction while Servis was checking out an old prison further north. Macrinus had been sent to keep the operations safe by occupying the old fortress of Griffin Wing Keep. The three of them were now communicating with the Elder One via some special communication crystals.

"My master." Macrinus stated "We may have a situation developing here. It would seem that the forces of the Warriors and the Spellcasters have teamed up and they have made a base camp to the south. The sulphur fields are protecting both mine and Servis' groups but Lucanus will be vulnerable."

"Then deal with them." Lucanus scoffed

Macrinus shook his head "We don't have the manpower to deal with the entire forces and I lost a patrol searching the ruins further south. If I keep sending men out to counter them then I may not have the men and power to deal with them when they arrive here."

"I can get us more spirits from the prison." Servis stated "This old prison is full of them but it takes time to seal them."

"Just hold your ground." The Elder One ordered and then he looked to Lucanus "So what have you found?"

"There seems to be an old relic here locked behind a magical sealed door." Lucanus replied "Once I find the key, I can recover the relic and it may hold the location of the final Old God card, there are many carvings and manuscripts depicting the Old Gods here. I'm having them shipped off to you."

"Good." The Elder One smirked "Finish off your job and then get out of there. Burn the ruins when you're done, we don't need those pesky Warriors and Spellcasters finding out what we know."

"Understood master." Lucanus replied and the call finished.

...

Gravekeeper's Assailant and Descendant led the group into a large hall where they saw several other Gravekeeper spirits. Jaden recognised the Gravekeeper Chief talking with Gravekeeper spy and nearby stood Gravekeeper's Commandant.

"We still don't know who these people are who attacked us before." Commandant informed the Chief "But we do know that they've been searching the other ruins in the area.

"Those other ruins don't concern us as they are not tombs." The Chief replied "Our priority is to protect this tomb."

"But now it's not just them occupying the area." Spy added "It seems that there has been movement from some kind of army that have made camp not too far away from these ruins. I suspect that we will be getting visitors soon."

"If they threaten this tomb then we will deal with them." The Chief hissed and then he turned when he heard people enter "Assailant, Descendant, what's going on."

"The guards and Spear Soldiers just found some people outside." Descendant replied

"Enemies from before?" Spy asked

Assailant shook her head "No, in fact it is someone who we're familiar with."

Then the Chief saw the others and when he saw Jaden, he gasped "I remember you, the mighty warrior that passed our trials before. I never expected to see you here."

"I never thought to see you here either." Jaden replied.

Commandant was cautious "Careful Chief." She warned "They could be with those people who attacked us before."

"You mean the Venatori, we're not with them. In fact, they're our enemies." Theorn informed them.

Chief looked at them "Explain these Venatori to us."

Jaden decided to do the talking since he was familiar with the chief "To put it simply, these Venatori are shadow duelists who are seeking items of great power."

"They're actually seeking the spirits of seven great monsters known as the Old Gods." Dorian corrected "They now have five of these spirits, if they get hold of all seven then they can use their power to create an army to take over the world."

"They are also other powerful monsters to make them stronger." Cassandra added.

"We have one of the two remaining but the last one is still missing." Daylen finished.

"We hold a powerful spirit here that we guard here." The Chief stated "If it fell into the wrong hands it will be dangerous. The mighty warrior here proved his worth to me before. If these Venatori are enemies of yours like they are to us, we would aid you but you have to prove yourselves to us again."

Jaden smiled "Well I've always wanted to have a duel again."

But the Chief shook his head "Sadly for this test, it has to be against a spellcaster user to show that the Mighty Quintet Magician is worthy of aiding your magicians."

Everyone looked at the one person who used a spellcaster deck. That person stepped forward "If it will help us defeat the Venatori then I'll do it." Daylen stated

Alexis looked worried "What happens if we lose?" she asked remembering that they would have been buried alive if Jaden had lost the last time someone had duelled the chief.

"Then you will be found unworthy of our aid and you will be banished from these ruins." The Chief informed them "We will let you leave but we will see you as trespassers should you return. One last thing, this will be a Shadow Duel as part of the test to show you are strong."

"It's not like it's my first Shadow Duel." Daylen said "Let's get on with it."

...

Soon, everyone was gathered outside the ruins. Daylen's friends stood to one side while the Gravekeepers stood to the other. Daylen and the Chief both stood on top of two large pillars while they shuffled their decks and activated their duel disks.

"This will not be an easy test young magician." The Chief warned "I will be pushing you to see how you fair in stressful situations."

"I will not expect anything less." Daylen stated "Now let's do this."

"DUEL!"

Daylen: 8000
Chief: 8000

"The first move is mine," declared Daylen as he drew his first hand of 6 cards. "I'll kick this off by activating the Spell card, Allure of Darkness. This will allow me to draw two cards from my deck but then I have to banish a DARK attribute monster from my hand." Daylen draw his 2 new cards and looked at his hand. "I'll banish my Cosmo Queen."

"Well, if he can't summon it, there's not much point keeping that in his hand is there?" asked Chazz.

"Sometimes sacrifices have to be made," replied Alexis.

"I'll set a monster face down and then place 2 cards face down and end my turn." Daylen ..

"Then it's my move then," declared Chief. "I Summon Gravekeeper's Spear Soldier." A black robed guard armed with a spear appeared on the field. (Level 4: 1500 ATK, 1000 DEF)

"Now attack his face-down monster," he boomed. Spear Soldier slammed his spear into Daylen's face down monster which flipped face up, revealing to be a woman with purple hair, wearing a black and green robe before being destroyed. (Level 4: 1100 ATK, 1200 DEF)

"You destroyed my Witch of the Black Forest." Daylen declared. "When she is sent from my field to my graveyard, I can add 1 monster card from my deck to my hand as long as it has 1500 or less defence points. So I'll choose to add Magician's Rod to my hand." But just as he finished his sentence. Daylen suddenly felt a pain going in his stomach.

Daylen: 7700
Chief: 8000

"Don't get too far ahead of yourself." Chief laughed. "When Spear Soldier attacks a monster in defence mode, if his attack points are higher than your monster's defence points, the difference is dealt straight to you as damage. I'll lay a face down and end my turn."

"Then I'm up then," Daylen said as he drew his next card. "I summon the Magician's Rod that I just added to my hand last turn." A spirit that looked like the shape of a magician appeared with a blue staff of power appeared on Daylen's field. (Level 3, 1600 ATK, 100 DEF)

"When this card is normal summoned, I can add 1 Spell or Trap card that lists "Dark Magician" in its text from my deck straight to my hand, and I'll choose Dark Magical Circle. And I'm not going to waste any time in activating it. When this card is activated, I can take a peek at the top 3 cards of my deck; if any of them happen to be Dark Magician or list Dark Magician in their card text, I can choose 1 of them to add to my hand." Daylen looked at the three cards and he saw Dark Magic Attack, Thousand Knives and Magician's Navigation. "All of them include Dark Magician in their card text so I'll add Magician's Navigation to my hand. The other two card will go back to the top of my deck in the order I choose."

"At least he knows what cards will be coming up next so he can use that knowledge to his advantage," Jaden said.

"That would be true, unless an effect takes place that forces Daylen's deck to get shuffled." Cassandra replied.

"Now Magician's Rod, attack Spear Soldier!" Daylen declared as his Rod let out a beam of blue light at Spear Soldier.

"Hold up, I activate my Trap card Draining Shield. With this, your attack is negated and I gain life points equal to your monster's attack points." Chief declared as a shield absorbed the attack points of Daylen's Rod.

Daylen: 7700
Chief: 9600

"Damn it!" cursed Daylen as his attack failed. "I'll place a card facedown and end my turn."

"Then it's my move." The Chief said. "I'll summon Gravekeeper's Descendent." A blond haired man wearing a black robe while carrying a golden rod appeared on his field. (Level 4: 1500 ATK, 1200 DEF)

"I activate his special ability, by sacrificing one Gravekeeper's monster, I can destroy one of your cards. So I'll sacrifice my Spear Soldier to destroy your Magician's Rod." Spear Soldier disappeared and Descendent darted his rod at Magician's Rod causing the spirit to groan and disappear.

"You've triggered my Trap card, Michizure!" Daylen called. "Since you just destroyed one of my monsters I can destroy one monster on your field. Say goodbye to your Gravekeeper's Descendent." Daylen's trap shot a bolt of lightning at Descendent causing his destruction.

"Very clever. I set a card and end my turn."

"Then it's my move then," Daylen said as he drew his next card which he knew from his last turn was Dark Magic Attack. "I should hold onto this. If he gets Necrovalley out onto his field, my Dark Magic Attack card can destroy it along with his other spells and traps. The only problem is I don't have a way to get Dark Magician onto the field yet. Though I do have a nice alternative." He thought.

"I summon Rapid-Fire Magician in attack mode!" Daylen called out as a purple-robed magician appeared with yellow and green circles in its hands. (Level 4: 1600 ATK, 1200 DEF)

"Next, I activate the Spell card Dark Magic Veil. By giving up 1000 of my own life points, I can bring back a DARK attribute Spellcaster-type monster from my graveyard so I'll bring back my Magician's Rod!" Daylen called as he got his Rod back onto his field but he crouched down as he paid the price for the revival. (Level 3: 1600 ATK, 200 DEF)

Daylen: 6700
Chief: 9600

"Foolish human, he just paid his own life points to activate his Spell. Just what is he playing at?" Gravekeeper's Guard said behind the chief.

"This was all part of his plan," Chief replied. "Now he can deal me more damage while I have no monsters out."

"Actually, that's not the only reason I did that. Now Rapid-Fire Magician special ability activates. You see, since I activated a Normal Spell card, Rapid-Fire Magician automatically deals you 400 points of damage," Daylen responded as his magician quickly fired a small beam at the Chief.

Daylen: 6700
Chief: 9200

"Would it not had been better to summon Witch of the Black Forest instead?" Jaden asked.

"He's right, Daylen could have searched his deck out for another card if she was sent from his field to the graveyard. Magician's Rod's effect would only activate if it was normal summoned, not special summoned. So why would he choose Magician's Rod in this case?" Kallian asked.

"Three reasons." replied Dorian. "1, Rod has more attack points so it would mean he would deal more damage to the Chief. Subsequently; 2, it would be harder for the Chief to get destroy as most Gravekeeper's monsters have 1500 or fewer attack points. 3, if he does search his deck for another monster, he loses that knowledge he gained from Dark Magical Circle with Thousand Knives being at the top of his deck because if you get a card out from your deck, it then has to be shuffled." Jaden and Kallian understood.

"Now Magician's Rod and Rapid-Fire Magician, attack the Chief directly," Daylen called as his two monsters attacked.

Daylen: 6700
Chief: 6000

"Not bad." The Chief said as the attack finished. "Though you haven't shown your worth to us yet."

"Maybe not, but as the duel progresses, I'll show you my worth. But for now, I end my turn."

"Then it's my move then. And I'll start by activating the Spell card, Pot of Greed, which will allow me to draw 2 cards. Then I'll activate the special ability of Gravekeeper's Commandent from my hand, by sending her from my hand to the graveyard, I can add Necrovalley from my deck to my hand which I'll now activate." The field changed to a large set of cliffs.

"Not that card!" groaned Jaden. "It was such a pain when I duelled him"

"As you should know, now all my Gravekeepers gain 500 attack and defence points. Additionally, all of the cards in our graveyards can't be removed from the game or be affected by other card effects. So basically, we can't bring anything out of our graveyards.

"I'm well aware of that!" Daylen hissed. "I actually used Gravekeeper's before."

"Then you should be ready for this. I summon Gravekeeper's Headsman!" Chief called out as another monster appeared on Chief's field with a golden staff. (Level 3: 500 - 1000 ATK, 1500 - 2000 DEF)

"Well that's new, I never had this Gravekeeper before," Daylen said. "It must be a new one."

"You are right, it is a new monster. Many new Gravekeepers cards got created in the last year. But anyway; now I can use his ability, he can bring back a Level 4 Gravekeeper's monster from my graveyard in either face up attack mode or face-down defence mode."

"Are you daft!?" Chazz snapped. "You just said moments ago that Necrovalley prevents any cards from being moved out of BOTH graveyards."

"You don't understand Chazz, the new Gravekeeper's cards have a way to by-pass the effects of Necrovalley," Jaden told him as Chazz wasn't present during the ruins trip during the school year.

"So, it looks like you did learn a few lessons from our duel," The chief told him as Jaden nodded. "Now Headsman will bring back Gravekeeper's Descendent!" The Gravekeeper that Daylen destroyed on the Chief's last turn reappeared. (Level 4: 1500 - 2000 ATK, 1200 - 1700 DEF).

"Now I'll use Descendant's ability, by sacrificing my Headsman, I can destroy your Rapid-Fire Magician." He finished as Descendent sent Headsman away which took out Daylen's Rapid-Fire Magician.

Next, I'll activate the Spell card Pot of Desires, by banishing the top 10 cards of my deck face-down, I can draw two cards. Then I activate the Spell card, Necrovalley Throne. This has 2 effects, I can either add a Gravekeeper's monster from my deck to my hand or I can normal summon a Gravekeeper's monster in addition to my turn's normal summon. In this case, I think I'll use its effect to normal summon again this turn. So now I'll sacrifice Descendent to summon Gravekeeper's Visionary!" Chief continued on as Descendent made way for a god-like creature sitting on a throne. (Level 8: 2000 - 2500 ATK, 1800 - 2300 DEF).

"I know how you summoned him, Visionary can be summoned by sacrificing 1 Gravekeeper's monster," Daylen said.

"You are correct and you should also know about this, Visionary gains 200 attack of every Gravekeeper in my graveyard. Since I currently have 4, Spear Soldier, Commandant, Descendent and Headsman, he gains another 800 attack points." Chief called out as Visionary gained the power of his fallen Gravekeepers. (2500 - 3300 ATK)

"Now Visionary, attack Magician's Rod! Vision Grave Purge!" Visionary sent a pulse of black lightning heading in the way of Magician's Rod causing his destruction. Daylen groaned out in pain.

Daylen: 5000
Chief: 6000

"Daylen!" everyone called.

"I'm fine guys," Daylen replied.

"I thought you said you're used to Shadow Duels so you should know about the pain," the Chief called.

"Maybe so! But it still hurts just as much. But then again, we have to be used to these Shadow duels we have any hope of saving my sister."

"Your sister?" Chief asked. "Is that why you've been searching these ruins."

"We don't think she's here, she was taken by the leader of the Venatori, The Elder One as he's known," Theorn called.

"He's been after her for a whole year now. Now he's got her in his clutches, we got to do everything we can to find her and bring her home." Daylen said.

"While I sympathise, you must still prove your worth and so far, you've disappointed me. I set a card and end my turn," Chief said.

"Then it's my move," Daylen called as he drew his next which he knew would be Thousand Knives. "I'll set a monster face down. That's all I can do for now."

"That's it? How sad." Chief said as he drew his next card. "Visionary, eliminate that face-down monster," he called as Visionary incinerated Daylen's face down which happened to be Magician's Robe (Level 2: 700 ATK, 2000 DEF)

"Next I'll play the Spell card, Card of Demise. This will allow me to draw until I have 3 cards in my hand. However, at the end of this turn, I must discard every card in my hand and you won't take any damage this turn." Since his hand was empty, Chief drew 3 cards. "I'll set a monster facedown along with another card face-down. Then, I'll activate the Spell card, Royal Tribute. Since I have Necrovalley on my field, we each now discard all monster cards in our hand to the graveyard. You may have noticed though, that I have no cards in my hand; so I have nothing discard," Chief said as he revealed his hand to prove that he had no cards in his hand.

"Sorry to disappoint you but I don't have any monsters in my hand," Daylen replied as he revealed his hand to the Gravekeeper Chief.

"In that case, I'll end my turn." Chief replied.

"Then I'm up then," Daylen called as he drew his next card. A thought crept into his head. "Since he has no cards in his hand, it means Visionary can't protect itself from destruction as it would require him to discard a Gravekeeper's monster. I'm sure he knows that, so I'm guessing those facedown cards must be ways to protect his Visionary either from battle or from card effects. Well, there's only one way to find out."

"I activate my own Pot of Greed, allowing me to draw another two cards. Then I'll activate the Spell card, Trade-In. By discarding my level 8 Dark Magician of Chaos, I can draw another two cards." As Daylen drew his next two cards, he looked at them and had a smile on his face. "I activate the special ability of Illusion of Chaos from my hand," Daylen declared as he showed a blue card in his hand. "By showing it to you, I can add Dark Magician from my deck to my hand, but then I take another card from my hand and place it onto the top of my deck."

"But what good does that do, it can't defeat the chief's boss monster," Spear Soldier said.

"Don't underestimate him, Daylen knows how to get his game on," Jaden shot back.

"Next I reveal my facedown, the Trap, Magician's Navigation. This will allow me to summon Dark Magician from my hand as well as a level 7 or below DARK attribute Spellcaster-type monster from my deck. Come forth from my hand Dark Magician!" A purple robbed wizard armed with a mighty staff appeared on the field. (Level 7: 2500 ATK, 2100 DEF)

"And from my deck, arise, Apprentice Illusion Magician!" A smaller purple robbed wizard appeared on Daylen's field. (Level 6: 2000 ATK, 1700 DEF).

"What are you planning?" asked the Gravekeeper Chief.

"I'll show you, when Apprentice Illusion Magician is successfully summoned, I can add another copy of Dark Magician from my deck straight to my hand." Daylen did just that. "Also, now Dark Magical Circle's effect activates, since Dark Magician was summoned, I can target 1 monster on the field and remove it from play. So say goodbye to your Gravekeeper's Visionary." Daylen called as his circle sent a wave of electricity heading towards Visionary.

"I won't let you, I activate my Trap card Safe Zone. This card equips onto my Gravekeeper's Visionary. Now as long as it's equipped, Visionary can't be destroyed by battle or by card effects. It also can't be targeted by card effects so your Circle can't harm it." The chief replied.

"So Daylen can't get rid of him at all?" questioned Sereda.

"Actually, he can." Dorian replied. "While Safe Zone does protect his monster from being destroyed, it does have one major flaw. If it gets destroyed, then the equipped monster is automatically destroyed too." The gang realised that Daylen needed to get rid of Safe Zone first in order to destroy Visionary.

"Next I activate the Spell card, Dark Magic Attack! Since I have a Dark Magician on the field, all your spells and traps are automatically destroyed. So your Necrovalley and your Safe Zone will both bite the dust," Daylen declared but again, the Chief saw it coming.

"No they won't; because I play the Trap, Imperial Tombs of Necrovalley. Since I have Necrovalley and a Gravekeeper's monster on my field, your Spell card is negated." The chief responded as his trap stopped Daylen's strategy.

"You're not letting me do anything!" Daylen hissed.

"That's the whole point, to push you to the edge." The Chief replied.

Daylen looked at what was left in his hand to see if anything could help. Then, he realised what he can do. "I activate the Spell card Polymerisation. I fuse together the Dark Magician and the Illusion of Chaos both in my hand." He declared as two wizards from his hand bashed their staffs together in the air before going into a spiralling whirlpool. Daylen chanted, "Magician with the power of darkness and wizard with the majesty of chaos, now become one and bring a new evolution of chaotic magic! I Fusion Summon, Master of Chaos!" A new wizard equipped with the armour of white and black colours waved his staff wildly as he touched the ground. (Level 8: 3000 ATK, 2500 DEF)

Everyone gasped in awe as Daylen's new wizard appeared. "When Master of Chaos is fusion summoned, I can target a DARK or LIGHT attribute monster from my graveyard and summon it. I know that Necrovalley negates that effect so I won't bother with this effect."

"So why would you summon it? Even though you have three monsters, none of them are strong enough to defeat my Visionary."

"Maybe, but I'm yet to normal summon this turn so I'll summon Mystical Elf in attack mode." A small yellow elf appeared on Daylen's field. (Level 4: 800 ATK, 2000 DEF)

"And now I activate Master of Chaos' second special ability. By sacrificing a DARK and a LIGHT attribute monster, all of your monster are instantly removed from the duel."

"Say what! All of my monsters."

"That's right and since it doesn't target and it doesn't destroy your cards, your Safe Zone is powerless to stop it! Be gone, Dark Magician and Mystical Elf!" Daylen called out as both his Dark Magician and Mystical Elf bowed down to Master of Chaos, before disappearing and both Visionary and the Chief's facedown got removed from the game.

"Since Visionary was knocked from my field, my Safe Zone is automatically destroyed." Chief said.

"Looks like you're wide open, Master of Chaos attack the Chief directly, Chaos Master Blast!" Daylen's powerful fusion monster shot a beam of purple light from its staff hitting the chief hard.

Daylen: 5000
Chief: 3000

"Now, Apprentice Illusion Magician, attack him directly too." Daylen called out as his other wizard prepared to strike.

"I may have taken one attack, but not another, I activate my last face-down, Rite of Spirit, this trap allows me to summon a Gravekeeper from my graveyard and once again, this effect is unaffected by Necrovalley. Come back, Gravekeeper's Commandant!" A pharaoh arose back from the Chief's graveyard to protect him. (Level 4: 1600 - 2100 ATK, 1500 - 2000 DEF)

"Apprentice Illusion Magician, stop your attack," Daylen said as he knew that his magician didn't have enough attack points to defeat Commandent. "I end my turn."

"Then it's my move then," Chief replied. "Gravekeeper's Commandant, attack Apprentice Illusion Magician!" Chief called as his Commandant swung her rod at Daylen's other monster, annihilating him.

Daylen: 4900
Chief: 3000

"In my second main phase, I'll activate the Spell card Nightmare Steelcage," The chief declared as two cages surrounded himself and Daylen.

"What's the meaning of these bars?" asked Daylen.

"Until your second End Phase, both of us are unable to make any attacks, so your Master of Chaos in stuck in neutral." The chief declared. "I end my turn."

"I draw," Daylen replied as he drew his card. He looked at it in disappointment. "This card's useless, I pass this turn."

"Then I'm up then." The Chief said as he drew his card. "I'll switch Gravekeeper's Commandant to defence mode and end my turn."

"I draw," Daylen said as he drew. "I'll set a card face down and end my turn."

"Now that it's been your second End Phase since it was activated, my Nightmare Steelcage is destroyed so our monsters can attack again." The Chief replied as the cages surrounding both players vanished. "I draw. I activate the Spell card Gravekeeper's Stele. This will allow me take 2 Gravekeeper's monster from my graveyard and add them to my hand. I'll choose Gravekeeper's Spear Soldier and Gravekeeper's Headsman."

"I'm just going to assume that all his cards are unaffected by Necrovalley. That's practically an unfair advantage," Theorn said.

"Then I'll summon Gravekeeper's Headsman." The pharaoh with the golden staff reappeared. (Level 3: 500 - 1000 ATK, 1500 - 2000 DEF).

"You know what happens next, now I can summon back Gravekeeper's Descendent from my graveyard thanks to Headsman's effect." (Level 4: 1500 – 2000 ATK, 1500 - 2000 DEF)

"Oh, not this again!" Daylen groaned.

"Now Descendant's ability will send away my Headsman to destroy your Master of Chaos," The Chief declared as he pointed his finger at Daylen's wizard as his Headsman disappeared.

"I don't think so! I activate my Quick-Play Spell card Forbidden Lance. This card will reduce my Master of Chaos' attack points by 800 until the end of this turn. But by doing so, it's unaffected by any other card effects this turn," Daylen responded as his Master of Chaos groaned as he lost some strength but gained a temporary immunity. (MoC: 3000 – 2200 ATK)

"Pretty sneaky of you. I set a card and end my turn." The chief replied.

"With that, the effect of Forbidden Lance wears off so Master of Chaos' attack points return to normal." (MoC: 2200 – 3000 ATK)

"I draw," Daylen called. "Master of Chaos, attack Gravekeeper's Descendent! Chaos Master Blast!" Daylen called as his Master of Chaos shone a beam of black and white lightning at Descendent, destroying him. The Chief bore the brunt of the attack.

Daylen: 4900
Chief: 2000

"Are you okay?" asked Daylen.

"Yeah, why wouldn't I be?" The Chief asked.

"With it being a Shadow duel, you're just as vulnerable as us. I'll end my turn."

"Then it's my move. I'll set a monster face down and end my turn."

"Then it's my turn. Master of Chaos, attack Gravekeeper's Commandant! Chaos Master Blast!" Daylen called as his powerful fusion monster shot another lightning blast, destroying Commandant. "I end my turn."

"My turn, first I'll flip summon my Gravekeeper's Spear Soldier!" The Chief declared as his soldier with a spear reappeared. (Level 4: 1500 – 2000 ATK, 1000 – 1500 DEF)

"Then, I summon Gravekeeper's Spiritualist." A female pharaoh arose onto the Chief's field. (Level 4: 1500 – 2000 ATK, 1500 – 2000 DEF).

"Now with her special ability, if Necrovalley is on the field, I can use her along with any other monsters on my field and in my hand to perform a Contact Fusion. Meaning I don't need Polymerisation to execute it."

"What!?" Daylen cried as the other members of the group gasped.

"Gravekeeper's Spiritualist, fuse with Gravekeeper's Spear Soldier!" The chief called as the two pharaohs bowed to one another before swirling into the whirlpool. "Spirit of the ancient protectors of the tomb keepers, become 1 to form a natural talent! I Fusion Summon Gravekeeper's Supernaturalist!" The Chief chanted as a brown skinned and white haired pharaoh emerged from the whirlpool and descended onto the field. (Level 7: 2000 - 2500 ATK, 2000 - 2500 DEF)

"As well as gaining power from my Necrovalley, my Supernaturalist gains attack points equal to the combined levels of the monsters used to summon him, then that is multiplied by 100. Since both my Spiritualist and Spear Soldier were level 4, that's a combined total of 8 levels so Supernaturalist gains 800 attack points," the Chief declared as everyone gasped. (GS: 2500-3300 ATK)

"It's stronger than my Master of Chaos!" Daylen cried.

"Now Gravekeeper's Supernaturalist, attack Master of Chaos. Supernatural Tomb Swipe!" The Chief's Supernaturalist swung its staff which collided with Daylen's Master of Chaos. The force of the swipe was enough to obliterate him. Daylen put his arm to his face to protect himself from the ensuring explosion.

Daylen: 4600
Chief: 2000

"I will then play my Spell card Mystical Space Typhoon to destroy your Dark Magical Circle." A typhoon blew away Daylen's circle. "I now end my turn, but Supernaturalist's special ability activates. During my End Phase, I can add either a Gravekeeper's monster or a Necrovalley card from my deck to my hand. I'll choose to add myself, Gravekeeper's Chief to my hand. Now my turn is finished." The chief called

"My move, I draw!" Daylen declared. "I summon Dimension Conjuror." A small yellow monster appeared on Daylen's field. (Level 1: 500 ATK, 500 DEF)

"When he is normal summoned, I can add the Spell card, Magical Dimension, from my deck straight to my hand. And I won't waste any time in activating it. By sending Dimension Conjuror to my graveyard, I can summon another Spellcaster type monster from my hand to take its place. Now be gone, Dimension Conjuror. And come forth Magician of Dark Illusion in attack mode!" Daylen called out as his small monster made way for a spirit of Dark Magician. (Level 7: 2100 ATK, 2500 DEF)

"Now I can use Magical Dimension's second effect to destroy your Supernaturalist!"

"Nice try, but Supernaturalist's special ability activates. While I have Necrovalley on my field, both my field spell and my Supernaturalist cannot be destroyed by card effects," The Chief responded as his fusion monster shielded himself and Necrovalley.

"That maybe. But since I just special summoned a monster from my hand with at least 2500 attack or defence points, I can also special summon from my hand, Chronicle Magician, in defence mode," Daylen called out as a wizard wearing white clothing and a blue book appeared on Daylen's field. (Level 7: 2500 ATK, 2500 DEF)

"When he is special summoned, I can target a Dark Magician on my field and it will gain 2500 attack points for this turn."

"But you don't have a Dark Magician on your field, they're both in your graveyard!"

"That's what you think, while Magician of Dark Illusion is on my field, its name is treated as "Dark Magician" which means Chronicle Magician can use its effect to give him 2500 attack points."

"WHAT!?" the Gravekeeper's behind the Chief gasped as Daylen's Magician of Dark Illusion gained power from the Chronicle Magician. (MoDI: 2100 – 4600 ATK)

"Alright! Now his Illusion is stronger than the Chief's Supernaturalist!" Alexis cheered.

"Magician of Dark Illusion, attack Gravekeeper's Supernaturalist. Illusion of Dark Magic Attack!" Daylen yelled as the illusion of Dark Magician surrounded Supernaturalist, causing it to groan as he got destroyed. The Chief was sent flying.

Daylen: 4600
Chief: 700

"Master!" the Gravekeepers called.

"Are you alright," Gravekeeper's Assailant asked

"I'm fine, I just wasn't expecting him to destroy such a weaponry of ours. I guess he's worthy to face his toughest test." The Chief replied as he got back up.

"Then bring it." Daylen replied. "I end my turn and the effect of Chronicle Magician wears off so Magician of Dark Illusion's attack points return to normal." (MoDI: 4600-2100 ATK)

"My turn," the Chief said as he drew his next card. "I'll set a monster facedown and call it a turn."

"It's my turn then," Daylen replied. "First, I'll switch Chronicle Magician to attack mode. Now Chronicle Magician, attack his facedown monster," called Daylen as his white wizard threw a blue book at the Chief's facedown monster which then flipped face up before it then got destroyed ( Level 4: 1000 - 1500 ATK, 1900 – 2400 DEF)

"You triggered my Gravekeeper's Guard's flip effect. Now I can send one of your monsters back to your hand. Since your Magician of Dark Illusion hasn't attacked yet, I'll set him back to your hand," the Chief called as Daylen's magician spirit went back to his hand.

Daylen was slightly annoyed he couldn't finish the job this turn. "I activate the Spell card Sacred Swords of Seven Star, by removing a level 7 monster from my hand or my field, I can draw 2 cards, so I'll remove my Magician of Dark Illusion from the game." Daylen removed his monster from his hand and then drew 2 cards. "I'll set a card face down and end my turn.

"My move. First, in my Stand-by Phase, I activate my Trap card Jar of Greed so I can draw 1 card from my deck. Then, I activate the Spell card Pot of Extravagance, my removing 6 random monsters from my extra deck face down, I get to draw two cards my deck," The chief called as he removed 6 monsters from his extra deck and drew two cards. "Then I'll activate the Spell card, Heavy Storm, to destroy the spell and traps on the field." Daylen's face-down card blew away which happened to be Magician's Defence and the Chief's own Necrovalley crumbled in itself as everyone looked on in shock as the Chief got rid of his own card.

"Wait, why would you destroy your own Necrovalley!?" Jaden asked in shock. "Your Gravekeeper's had such an advantage by locking Daylen's graveyard out while most of your cards could by-pass its effects?"

"He must be planning something Jaden," Daylen replied back to him. "There's no way he would get rid of his own field spell if he didn't have something up his sleeve."

"You're a smart duellist," The Chief replied to Daylen

"Well by doing that, you've allowed me access to my graveyard again. Since you destroyed Magician's Defence, I can now bring back a Spellcaster type monster from my graveyard. So come back, Witch of the Black Forest in defence mode!" Daylen called out as his red haired witch reappeared on his field. (Level 4: 1100 ATK, 1200 DEF)

"Now it's time for your toughest test of them all. I activate the Spell card, Magicalised Fusion! This card will allow me remove fusion material monsters from my graveyard from play to fusion summon a Spellcaster type monster," The chief replied.

"So it's a Spellcaster version of Solona's Dragon's Mirror and your Miracle Fusion," Dorian said to Jaden.

"So that's why he destroyed Necrovalley, he needed to access his graveyard in order to use Magicalised Fusion. What did Daylen say about having a plan Jaden?" Chazz asked Jaden sarcastically.

"Well, pardon me!" Jaden replied sheepishly.

"I remove Gravekeeper's Supernaturalist, Gravekeeper's Guard, Gravekeeper's Spear Soldier, Gravekeeper's Headsman and Gravekeeper's Commandant!" The Chief called as his 5 Gravekeepers left his graveyard and merged into a giant whirlpool overhead. The whirlpool started making massive lightning strikes.

"I've got a bad feeling about this," Daylen said.

"5 ancient tomb keepers, serving to protect their master, now become 1 to bring 5 times the power to this fight! I fusion summon, the all-powerful Quintet Magician!" The Chief chanted as a gigantic purple robed magician descended from the electric storm overhead before settling down onto the field with several circular rings surround him. (Level 12: 4500 ATK, 4500 DEF)

Everyone gasped in astonishment at the Quintet's magician's strength. "The Quintet Magician, the magician that the Gravekeepers were talking about," Daylen said

"Impressive, isn't he?" The Chief said and Daylen nodded. "Now you must prove your worth. If you can defeat him, then you're worthy of his power.

"Understood."

"Right, now I activate Quintet Magician's special ability, since I used 5 different Spellcaster type monsters to summon him, all your cards are automatically destroyed!" The Chief called

"Say what!?" Daylen cried out.

"Go, Quintuple Lightning Lash!" The Chief's Quintet Magician fired his engulfing circles around both of Daylen's monsters, destroying them both.

"Since you destroyed my Witch of the Black Forest, her ability will allow me to add a monster with 1500 of less defence points from my deck to my hand and I choose Battle Fader." Daylen spoke.

"I won't let you because I activate the Quick-Play Spell card Called by the Grave. This card activates if you activate a monster effect in your graveyard. Now not only is that monster removed from your graveyard from play, but it's also negated," The Chief called out as Daylen's witch was nullified and removed from his graveyard.

"Prepare yourself, Quintet Magician attack him directly! Quintuple Magical Blast!" The Chief boomed as the mighty magician fired his rings spiralling at Daylen which resulted in a mighty explosion which sent him flying right towards his friends.

Daylen: 100
Chief: 700

"DAYLEN!" everyone called.

"Are you alright," Theorn asked.

"Wake up," Alexis whispered.

Daylen slowly started to open his eyes as he saw his friends gathering around him. He felt in extreme pain from the shadow game. "Are you sure you want to continue this fight?" The Gravekeeper's Chief asked.

"Let us help you up," Dorian said to Daylen as he and Cassandra helped get Daylen back on his feet.

"Thanks, and as for your question, yes I will continue. If I want to prove our worth, I must continue this fight because if I fail, we've all failed and we've all failed Solona," Daylen replied.

"Very well then, I end my turn."

"Then I draw," Daylen called as he drew another card. "I'll set a monster face down along with another card facedown and end my turn."

"Then I'm up then, I activate my own Allure of Darkness. As you did at the beginning of the duel, I draw two cards from my deck then I remove a DARK attribute monster from my hand." Chief said. As he drew two cards, he looked at his hand. "I'll remove myself from my hand. Then I summon Gravekeeper's Recruiter in attack mode." A small tombkeeper appeared on the Chief's field. (Level 3: 1200 ATK, 1500 DEF)

"Thanks, you've set off my Trap card, Torrential Tribute. Since you just summoned a monster, all monsters on the field are automatically destroyed!" yelled Daylen determinedly.

"Did you honestly think the mightiest magician can be destroyed so easily!?" The chief called mockingly. "My Quintet Magician can't be destroyed by card effects." Daylen's trap ended up only wiping out Gravekeeper's Recruiter. "When Recruiter is sent from my field to my graveyard, I can add 1 Gravekeeper's monster with 1500 or less defence points from my deck to my hand. I'll choose Gravekeeper's Priestess." The Chief showed Daylen the card he drew. "Now Quintet Magician, attack his face down monster!" The mighty magician fired at Daylen's face down monster which was a small purple haired magician with a small staff (Level 1: 300 ATK, 400 DEF)

"You attacked my Magician of Faith. Due to her flip effect, I can add a spell card from my graveyard back to my hand. So I'll choose Pot of Greed."

"Very well, I end my turn.

"I draw, I activate Pot of Greed to draw two cards." As Daylen drew his next two cards, he looked at them and smiled slightly. "I'll set another monster along with another card to end my turn."

"Then it's your end," the Chief declared. "I summon Gravekeeper's Priestess!" A young female pharaoh arrived on the Chief's field. (Level 3: 1000 ATK, 1500 DEF)

"Now Quintet Magician, attack his face-down monster!" the huge magican took aim once more at Daylen's face down monster eliminating it which turned out to be Breaker, the Magical Warrior. (Level 4: 1600 ATK, 1000 DEF)

"Now Gravekeeper's Priestess, attack him directly and end this duel!" The chief called. His other monster charged toward Daylen

"If you don't stop that attack you're a goner!" called Theorn.

"I'm on it, I activate my Trap card Defence Draw," Daylen responded. "I don't take any damage from your Priestess' attack and I can draw one card from my deck."

"You won't be so lucky next round. I activate my Continuous Spell card, Hidden Temples of Necrovalley. When I have both a Gravekeeper's monster and Necrovalley on my field, neither of us can special summon monsters except Gravekeeper's monsters.

"But, you don't have Necrovalley on your field," Daylen spoke up.

"True, but that's where Gravekeeper's Priestess' special ability kicks in. You see, if there are no field spells on the field, then she can treat the entire field as Necrovalley, fulfilling the condition to use Hidden Temple of Necrovalley."

"Oh great, not only can't he special summon anything but he can't get rid of Quintet Magician by card effects either," Chazz said.

"What is he supposed to do?" asked Theorn.

"Never give up," Jaden replied. "A duel isn't over until the last card's played."

"I'll set my last card face down and end my turn."

"Alright, then I draw!" Daylen yelled as he drew.

"By locking him out of special summoning, he can only rely on a normal summon. He might try to be sneaky and attack my priestess knowing I only have 700 life points. But my face down will put a stop to that." The Chief thought

"I summon Kuribandit in attack mode!" Daylen called as a small bandaged up creature appeared giving out a soft squeak. (Level 3: 1000 ATK, 700 DEF)

"I activate his special ability, by sending him to my graveyard, I can take a look at the top 5 cards from my deck. If any of them are Spells or Traps, I can add them to my hand. Any monster cards are sent to my graveyard."

"What a waste of your only summon for this turn," The Chief said as Daylen's creature disappeared.

"We'll see. I've drawn Pot of Avarice, Double Spell, Piercing the Darkness, Skilled Dark Magician and Ancient Rules. Since Skilled Dark Magician is a monster card, he's sent to my graveyard but the others are all spells so they will go to my hand."

"Alright, he got 4 cards off of just one card," Jaden cheered.

"Next I activate Pot of Avarice, I send 5 monsters from my graveyard to my deck. I'll send my two Dark Magicians, Illusion of Chaos and Rapid-Fire Magician back to my Main Deck and Master of Chaos back to my Extra Deck. After that, I shuffle my deck up." Daylen took his deck out of his duel disk to shuffle his cards up. "Then I get to draw two new cards."

"What are you planning?"

"You'll see, but first I activate the Spell card Double Spell, by sending 1 Spell card from my hand to my graveyard, I can choose 1 Spell card in your graveyard and activate it. I discard Magical Contract Door to help myself to your Mystical Space Typhoon," Daylen declared as he tossed his spell and the Chief's Mystical Space Typhoon flew out of his graveyard and into Daylen's hand. "I won't waste any time in activating it so say goodbye to Hidden Temples of Necrovalley." The Chief's spell card got destroyed.

"Alright, now Daylen can special summon again," Kallian cheered.

"Next I'll activate the Continuous Spell card Piercing the Darkness. Then I activate the Spell card Summoner's Art, so now I can add a level 5 or above Normal Monster from my deck to my hand so I choose Dark Magician."

"Here it comes," The Chief thought

"Then with the Spell, Ancient Rules, I can special summon a level 5 or higher Normal monster from my hand so take to the field, Dark Magician!" Daylen called out as his ace monster jumped onto the field. (Level 7: 2500 ATK, 2100 DEF). Everyone behind him cheered as now they thought Daylen can win it right then and then.

However, as Daylen was about to attack, he realised something, "He left his Priestess in attack mode. He's probably thinking I would attack her to finish off the rest of his life points. Maybe he's wanting me to attack her which no doubt would trigger that face down that he has left. Something's not right." He thought

"What are you waiting for? Your Dark Magician can defeat Priestess so you can win the duel," The Chief declared.

"Are you trying to tempt me to attack?" Daylen asked. The Chief didn't reply so not to give away his plan. "Now, Piercing the Darkness' effect activates. Since I just summoned a Normal monster, Piercing The Darkness will allow me to draw one more card from my deck," Daylen drew a new card off of Piercing Darkness' effect. He looked at it in triumph. "I activate the Spell card Monster Reborn to bring back a monster from the graveyard.

"Who are you going to pick from your graveyard?" The Chief asked

"Don't be so sure, who said I was going to summon a monster from my graveyard?"

"You're not?"

"No Chief, Monster Reborn can summon a monster from either player's graveyard and I want one from your graveyard. Hand over your Gravekeeper's Spiritualist!" Daylen called. The Chief was shocked and surprised that Daylen chose her and from his graveyard instead of from his own. The tomb keeper rose onto Daylen's field. (Level 4: 1500 ATK, 1500 DEF)

"What good could my Spiritualist do you?" The Chief asked.

"A lot," replied Daylen. "Remember, your Priestess' ability treats the field as Necrovalley. Also, your Spiritualist can perform a Contact Fusion with Necrovalley on the field."

"So, you using both of their abilities against me?"

"Precisely, now Gravekeeper's Spiritualist, fuse together with my Dark Magician!" Daylen called as the two monsters engulfed into a new whirlpool. "Magician with the power of darkness and the spirit of a tomb keeper, now become 1 and merge into the realms of wizardry! I Fusion Summon, The Dark Magicians!" chanted Daylen as Dark Magician and another magician descended from the whirlpool onto Daylen's field holding hands together. (Level 8: 2800 ATK, 2300 DEF)

"Impressive move," The chief said.

"Now time to see what you're planning. The Dark Magicians, attack Gravekeeper's Priestess and end this duel!" Daylen called as the two magicians prepared to strike.

"I activate my Trap card Shift, now instead of attacking my Priestess, your Dark Magicians has to attack Quintet Magician instead," The Chief responded as his two monsters switched places putting Quintet Magician in the firing line.

"But Daylen's Dark Magicians isn't strong enough to beat Quintet Magician!" Jaden called.

"Stop that attack!" yelled Theorn.

"It's ok Theorn," Daylen said calmly to him. He turned around to face the Chief. "I was actually hoping you'd do that."

"How come?"

"Because Piercing the Darkness has another effect. You see since I used a Normal monster as a Fusion material for a Fusion monster, my monster gains attack points equal to the attack points of the monster that it's attacking. So you know what that means."

"Oh no, now your Dark Magicians gains my Quintet Magician's attack points!" The Chief shouted.

"That's right!" Daylen called. (TDM: 2800 – 7300 ATK)

"End it now Daylen!" called Dorian.

"I intend to. The Dark Magicians, attack Quintet Magician and end this duel! Double Dark Magic Attack!" The two magicians combined their might and fired their staffs at Quintet Magician. The huge magician groaned as his magic drained away causing an almighty explosion which sent the Gravekeeper Chief hurling backwards towards his fellow Gravekeepers.

Daylen: 100 (winner)

Chief: 0000

"All right!" Jaden cheered

"He did it." Theorn smiled

"Chief!" Assailant called and she along with Descendant and Commandant helped the chief to his feet "Are you alright?"

"I'm fine." The Chief replied and looked at Daylen and his friends "You have proven yourself young magician. You are a fine spellcaster and you have proven worthy of this." He brought out the Quintet Magician from his duel disk and handed it over to Daylen "I hope it helps you in the search for your sister."

Daylen looked at the card "This is a great reward." He replied "I will make sure it goes to good use." In some ways, the card was also a dark reminder for him as well since it was so similar to Solona's Five Headed Dragon card but Daylen couldn't think too much on that.

The Chief then turned to the other Gravekeepers "My people, once again a challenger has proven himself worthy and passed the trial. We were sworn to protect this tomb but now our job is done and the Quintet Magician is in the hands of a worthy Spellcaster user. Now we have a new purpose, this world is in great danger from a dark cult, our new purpose is to help the people of this world, we will show them what we Gravekeepers can do."

The gathered Gravekeepers all began to cheer and Jaden looked cheerful "Glad that they're on our side."

"Indeed." Dorian stated "They'll be a big help for this war against the Venatori."

"Aye." Cassandra agreed "We're going to need all the help we can get. Now we should get back to Scout Harding, see where we go from here."

Chapter End:

Notes: Well it's been a while on this story but here's another chapter and a long one. Once again my brother wrote this duel since he's better at writing them so huge thank you for him. I'm working on a new chapter on the Wolf Awakens next but I'm going on holiday for a few weeks so updates will be slow since I may not have much time or ability to write.
