Chapter 2: Rise of the Turtles
Hey everyone I'm back with a new chapter. Wow I'm pumped this story has gotten a lot of attention so fast. Anyway to answer some of your questions. This takes place in the 2012 series and yes Giovanni will have a harem. I hope you like what I have planned. I even made an opening for you guys. Please Review and Enjoy.

(I realize the screaming pain I hear it loud in my brain) In one memory we see a human Hamato Yoshi with his wife Tang Shen smiling and holding their baby girl together.
(But I'm going straight ahead with these scars) In the next memory we see Splinter playing with a young Leonardo, Giovanni, Raphael, Donatello and Michelnagleo with a smile on his face.
(Can you hear me, can you hear me? Can you hear me? So am I) As the music intensifies we see the 5 ninja brother standing back to back then, the team, then the Justice League, then Splinter, April and Casey Jones and then finally Shredder, Karai, Tigerclaw, Fishface, Rocksteady, Bebop and Rahzar.
(Tell me I should just get over it Why am I not moving on. So I tried to cover up my broken bruised heart) In a big battle we see Raph, Donnie, Miss Martian, Superboy, Mikey and Kid Flash fighting off tons of Kraang when Rocket, Zatanna and Red Arrow join in the battle.
(Make believe it doesn't hurt Say you don't feel pain anymore All the while you're limping on You drag your feet behind you) In another battle we see Gio, Artemis, Robin, Leo, and Aqualad fighting off Foot Ninjas when three leap in from above when suddenly Batgirl and Wonder Girl swing in and attack.
(I lost myself and I heard the sound And then I slipped away into the crumbled ground But it was just the wind and now I know just who I am) Looking up the Turtles saw Shredder and his goons looking down at them with evil looks on their eyes and the two clans attack.
(And now I've traveled so far So I could show you these scars Before the weight of world Comes crashing down on me) Gio opens his eyes and they glow bright green before he leaps up and starts clashing weapons with Karai, Donnie with Tigerclaw, Raph with Fishface, Mikey with Razhar, and as Leo swings his katana at Shredder he leaps up to dodge only to stand across from Splinter.
(Do you remember our fears? We made it rain with our tears) As Splinter and Shredder face off, we see them as humans briefly before they clash creating a bright light.
(And all the pain is to protect to see you one last time And all the pain is to protect to see you one last time) When the light disappears Splinter finds himself standing in front of his sons and the Team waiting for him with pizza.
(Can you hear me, can you hear me? Can you hear me? So am I) Seeing them all a smile forms on Splinter's face as he goes to join them.

It had been 10 years since Splinter first brought Giovanni into his home and needless to say a lot has happened between him and the turtles.
We find ourselves in the dojo as all 5 of them were now 15 years old.
On one side Michelangelo was facing a teenage Giovanni who was wearing his green ninja mask, a green hoodie with an opening to reveal a dark green vest with multiple octagons to resemble a turtle chest, green cargo pants, and his shield was strapped to his back.
"Hajime!" Leonardo said as Mikey and Gio charged in.
"Hiya!" Gio said.
"Oh yeah Michelangelo is on the move!" Mikey said as Gio swings his tonfas but Mikey dodges. "You don't know what to do! I'm here! I'm there. I could anywhere!"
Flinging his nunchaku, Gio ducks under to avoid being hit.
"How can you hit what you can't see?" Mikey asks leaping in but Gio rolls out of the way and kicks Mikey right in the gut with a back kick.
"Like that." Gio chuckles standing up.
"Good one Gio." Mikey groans holding his gut with one hand and giving his brother a thumbs up with the other one.
Nearby, Donnie readied his staff while Raph cracks his neck ready.
"Alright Donnie, put down the staff and no one gets hurt." Raph said.
"Uh you said that last time Raph and then you hurt me." Donnie points out.
"Yeah but less than I would have." Raph said.
Spinning his bo staff Donnie went on the attack but Raph dodges them all with ease.
Swinging his staff Donnie tries to land a hit when Raph yanks it out of his hands and breaks it in half.
"Should've dropped the staff?" Donnie asks.
"Should've dropped the staff." Raph smirks before attacking Donnie whacking him like he was a drum.
"Oh okay. I'm down! I'm down!" Donnie said.
Raph looks to see Gio facing Leo who drew his katana.
Moving in both of the locked weapons and clash.
Pushing forward Leo leaps up and does a kick but Gio blocks it and nails a hit to the gut causing Leo to skid back.
Growling Giovanni swings his tonfa but Leo blocks it with his sword when Giovanni uses his free arm to attack but Leo grabs it trapping him.
When Giovanni gasps Leonard smirks before delivering a powerful knee to his gut and spinning roundhouse knocking Giovanni next to Mikey and Donnie in the losers square.
"Welcome to the party Gio." Mikey said as they helped him up.
"We saved you a spot." Donnie said.
"Thanks guys." Gio said siting down as Raph and Leo took the ready positions.
"Onegashimasu." Leo said.
"Whatever you say." Raph said drawing his sai and Leo his katana.
Charging in both brothers clash. Raph throws the first strike nailing Leo but Leo sweeps the leg knocking Raph to the ground.
As Raph gets up Leo leaps in but Raph is able to block the attack.
Using more pressure Leo flung one sai out of Raph's hands towards the other three but they are unscathed as it hit the wall in between Donnie and Gio who acted like it didn't even happen not taking their eyes off the match.
With only one sai, Raph takes a reverse grip as they charge in but when Leo moves in to strike Raph knocks the sword out of his hand and judo throws Leo to the ground.
"Nice try." Raph smirks in victory.
"Ya me!" Splinter said entering the room with his walking stick.
Walking over to the other three all of them sat down as Splinter walked in up to them.
"You all did very well." Splinter said.
"But I did better." Raph smirks.
"This is about self-improvement Raphael, not winning or losing." Splinter said walking behind them.
"I know sensei, but still. I won and they lost." Raph smirks when Splinter hits a pressure point in his neck causing him to flinch. "Ow! But what's really important is that we all did our best. Great job everyone!" Raph said causing Splinter to chuckle.
Later that day in the kitchen, all the turtles and Splinter were sitting down waiting for something.
"Come on. Where is he? I'm starving." Raph said.
"Patience my sons he'll be back soon." Splinter said.
"I wonder what he'll bring this time?" Donnie asks when the door opens.
"Hey guys." Looking over they saw Gio walking in without his ninja mask on holding a few bags. "Who's hungry?"
"Oh yeah Gio's got the goods." Leo smiles as Gio walked into the kitchen.
You see after Splinter brought Gio into their home Gio saw that all they had to eat was algae and worms because the 5 of them couldn't go up to the surface, but since Gio was still human they managed to fix that.
"Hey guys look what I found." Gio reached into his bag and pulls out a huge vanilla cake causing his brothers to smile.
"No way!" Mikey smiles.
"A cake!" Donnie smiles.
"Wait is this a real one? Not like the one Mikey tried to make us?" Raph asks.
"It's the real deal guys. Since today was a big deal for us I thought we should celebrate." Gio said.
"Happy Mutation/ Adoption day!" Mikey said.
"Happy Mutation/ Adoption Day!" Leo, Raph, Donnie and Gio cheers.
"Ah yes this day was the day all our lives changed forever and we became the unlikeliest of families." Splinter smiles as Gio put on his ninja mask and started cooking their food.
"Tell us the stories Master Splinter." Mikey said sitting down.
"Michelangelo I have told them many times." Splinter said.
"Please, Pleeease!" Miikey begs until Raph covers his mouth.
"Please do it's the only he'll shut up." Raph said.
"And I need at least a few minutes to get our food ready." Gio said chopping vegetables.
"Very well, many years ago when I was still human, I was walking out of the pet store with 4 baby turtles." Splinter said.
"That was us!" Mikey said excited.
"Yes, don't interrupt." Splinter scolds. "As I was walking home, I passed a strange man on the street. Something felt off about him so I decided to follow him. I was observing him when suddenly I stepped on a rat alerting them of my presence. I managed to fight them off but when they dropped this mysterious canister that in a way gave birth to us all." Splinter said holding out a broken canister.
"Mom." Mikey said hugging it.
"And even though our family was big it wasn't until 5 years later that it became complete. On the anniversary of our mutation day I snuck out to find some suitable treats but when I did I found a young little boy living on the street." Splinter said looking at Gio who put their plates down. "A boy with no home, no family and no memories saved my life from a tragic accident and because of that selfless deed he became the final member of our family."
"And boy when you showed up the food definitely got better." Raph said as digging in.
"Gee thanks Raph good to know you at least love me for my cooking." Gio rolls his eyes.
"So sensei, now that we're all 15, I think we're finally ready to go up to the surface, don't you?" Leo asks.
"Yes." Splinter said causing them all to smile. "And no." Causing them all to groan.
"I hate when he does that." Raph said.
"You have grown powerful but you are all still young. You lack the maturity to use your skills wisely." Splinter stood up.
"But you let me go up there all the time." Gio said.
"Yes on errands. I send you out to help provide food and various other items we may need and you come right back. You're not exploring you go on missions." Splinter said.
"Oh great." Gio said seeing his freedom was barely ahead of his brothers.
"So, sensei, isn't that just no?" Donnie asks.
"Aha! So in order for us to gain the wisdom, we have to make the mistakes. So we can go." Donnie said.
"No." Splinter said.
"And yes?" Donnie asks.
"No." Splinter said not fooling around this time.
"Sensei, we know you're trying to protect us,but we can't spend our whole lives hiding down here." Leo said.
"We've done all your training. Followed every exercise. I even stuff this thing full of gear every time I leave the sewers just in case." Gio said gesturing to his vest.
"Nice what you got in there?" Mikey asks.
"Show ya later." Gio whispers.
Splinter looks at his 5 sons and saw all of them were pleading with big eyes and cupped hands.
"Mm. You may go tonight." Splinter said causing them all to cheer.
"High three!" Mikey said as they held up their hands.
"Uh Gio." Donnie said looking to him.
"Oh right." Gio put his thumb and pinkie in and they high three.
In the main living room, Leo was watching Transformers Armada.
"Freedom is the right of all sentient beings. It is our duty to protect them." Optimus Prime said.
"Oh man Optimus Prime is a great hero. Someday I'm gonna be just like him." Leo said in awe.
"Well you already have a big head so you're on your way." Raph smirks reading a comic book.
"Hey guys, it's time to go." Donnie said as he, Mikey and Gio were all geared up and ready.
Grabbing their weapons all 5 ninjas lined up in front of Splinter.
"You are going up to a strange and hostile world. You must maintain awareness at all times." Splinter said.
"Hai sensei!" They said.
"I told these rules to Giovanni but today I tell them to all of you. Stay in the shadows." Splinter said.
"Hai sensei." They said.
"Don't talk to strangers." Splinter said.
"Hai sensei." They said about to leave.
"Everyone is a stranger." Splinter adds.
"Hai sensei." They said annoyed before leaving.
"And make sure you go before leaving. The restrooms up there are filthy." Splinter calls out.
"Sensei!" They said beyond annoyed.
"Good luck my sons." Splinter smiles.
"Race you guys up there!" Gio said running ahead with everyone right behind him.
"Look both ways before crossing the street!" Splinter calls out but they were long gone.
Opening a manhole, Gio pops his head out.
"Okay all clear guys." Gio said climbing out with his brothers behind him.
"Whoa." Leo said in awe.
"It's so beautiful." Mikey said.
"I can't believe you got to come up here." Raph said.
"What exactly did you do?" Donnie asks as they walked out.
"Mostly looked around and scavenged for any food I could find." Gio admits.
"Well now that we can actually explore. The city is just full of possibility. There could be an adventure around this corner...or...or this one...or this one! There's not, but there could be!" Leo said looking around.
Walking by a store, Donnie gasps looking in the window. "Look at all the computers! Is that the next generation cadmium processor with quantum encryption?" Donnie asks.
"I don't know, Donatello is it?" Raph asks not caring.
"It is!" Donnie squeals.
"Hey guys check this out! A hand made out of light." Mikey said looking at a sign.
"Mikey that's not a real hand. That's what people use to lure people into their store to buy things." Gio said.
"Well it's working." Mikey said trying to open the door but it was locked.
"Come on you." Raph said pulling him away when a kid on a moped delivering pizzas saw them.
"Uh hi." Gio gulps when Raph makes a scary face scaring the kid away and causing him to drop a box.
"That was fun." Raph smiles.
"This is why I shouldn't dress like this when I come up here. Splinter warned me about this and I ignored it today." Gio groans.
"We're too exposed down here. Come on." Leo said as they ran to the roofs when Mikey spots the pizza box.
On the roof, Mikey puts it down.
"Pizza?" Mikey said in a weird way.
"Oh yeah I see quite a few of these when I come up here but the boxes are usually empty." Gio said.
"Well this one has something in it." Mikey said.
"Should we open it?" Donnie asks.
"Careful." Leo said as Gio opens it and they saw a peperoni pizza.
"Oh man that looks good." Gio said.
"But how does it taste?" Raph asks.
"I'll try it." Mikey said taking a bite of a slice and his eyes widen as he inhales the slice. "Uh…you guys wouldn't like this. I should eat the rest."
"No way!" All four of them said as they grabbed as many slices as they could and ate the pizza up.
"No wonder all those boxes are empty. This stuff is delicious." Gio said.
"Oh man this is good." Raph smiles.
"Now I see why you come up here all the time, it's amazing!" Mikey said.
After earing the 5 ninjas were running across the rooftops with ease.
"Oh man I am never taking the sidewalks again!" Gio cheers.
"You actually spent all this time down there? Talk about boring." Leo smirks.
"Well now I'm doing it like this from now on." Gio said as they all came to a stop.
"All right, guys, it's getting late. We should probably head back home." Leo said.
"Aw man." Everyone groans when Donnie noticed two people walking down the street. One was a man with red hair and a beard and the other was a teenage girl with long red hair and a headband. These were Kirby O'Neil and his daughter April.
"Whoa check out that girl Gio." Donnie said as Gio looks over.
"Oh yeah I've seen a few girls on my trips up here." Gio notes.
"You are so lucky." Donnie said when a van pulls up in front of the two humans.
From the back multiple men in suits appeared causing Gio to gasp. They were the same men in suits he saw Splinter fight the day he found him.
"What's going on?" Kirby asks as the men made their way towards them.
"We gotta help them." Gio said.
"Agreed." Donnie said.
"Splinter's instructions were very clear. We're supposed to stay away from people. And bathrooms." Leo said.
"I thought you wanted to be a hero. Since when do heroes ask for permission?" Raph asks.
"They don't but—"
"Well I'm going!" Donnie said leaping in with Raph, Mikey and Gio behind him.
Sighing Leo leaps in joining them.
"Hey let me go!" April screams as they throw her dad into the van.
"Hey!" One man turns to see Raph nail him in the face but he still stood. "Still standing, huh? I'll fix that." Raph said drawing his sai.
As all five ninjas moved in they tried to fight the men in suits off but they kept getting in each other's way and that resulted in all of them getting bumped and knocked around.
Gio swings his tonfas to attack when Donnie swings his staff back knocking him to the ground.
"Hey watch it." Gio said.
"Sorry." Donnie said.
"Help!" Looking up Gio saw April being carried away.
Opening one of his vest pockets he pulls out a set of chains and throws them wrapping around the man's legs and Gio pulls making him fall to the ground and the girl drops into his arms.
"Hey you okay?" Gio asks but when April sees him and his brothers she screams causing Gio to yelp.
"Hey take it easy we're the good guys, right Donnie?" Gio asks.
"Yeah you can trust us." Donnie said.
April looks to the men kidnapping her dad and then to the weird boy with the monsters and saw he was smiling holding out a hand to her.
Slowly she was about to take it.
"Look out!" Mikey yells when a man punches Donnie knocking him into Mikey.
Grabbing the chain, the man Gio stopped yanked him in and nailed him in the face with a punch.
Using this opening the man grabbed April and threw her into the van and drove off.
"They got them!" Donnie yells running after them.
"Ugh dammit." Gio yells getting up.
"You just jabbed me with your sword." Raph said.
"Well, I didn't know you were gonna land where I was stabbing." Leo said as they ran after Gio and Donnie.
Getting up Mikey saw one of those men had been left behind.
"You think you're tough, huh? You think you're tough enough to stand up to my hot nunchuck fury?" Mikey asks spinning his nunchaku around but the man grabbed one surprising him as he yanked it out of Mikey's hands and threw it to the ground.
"I see, well then…AAAAH!" Mikey screams making a run for it with the man chasing after him.
Running down an alley Mikey saw he was trapped as the man approached him.
"Stay back!" Mikey yells swinging his kusarigama around and whacks the man in the face knocking him to the ground. "What the?" Mikey said seeing flashing lights and strange noises.
Walking up to it he saw the man he attacked was actually a robot underneath it all.
"That is all kinds of wrong." Mikey said when the robot shuts down and Mikey sees a hideous brain monster scream from inside its chest scaring him before the monster leaps out and grabs onto his face.
Scrambling Mikey pulls with all his might yanking the creature off and throwing it against the wall before scurrying away.
Down the street, the other 4 ninja brothers were on the lookout for the van and Mikey.
"Guys! Guys! You're never gonna believe this! That dude, he. He, had a brain!" Mikey said running up to them.
"Yeah Mikey we all have brains." Leo narrows his eyes.
"Not all of us." Donnie mocks.
"In our chests?" Mikey asks.
"No not our chests our heads." Gio corrects pointing to his head.
"You're not listening to me!" Mikey said when Leo slapped him. "Did you just slap me?"
"I was calming you down." Leo said.
"Why would that calm me down?!" Mikey snaps.
"I think he's delusional." Donnie said.
"Just-just come here. I'm telling you. The big guy was a robot and he had a freaky-weird alien brain thing in his chest. You gotta believe me." Mikey said leading them to the alley.
"I'm not sure I do." Raph said.
'Robot? Was that what those things were all those years ago?' Gio thought.
"Oh, yeah? Well, you'll change your tune when you see that he's…" Mikey points down the alley only to see nothing was there. "Gone?"
Annoyed the others walked away having had enough for one night.
Back in the sewers all of them were sitting in front of Splinter.
"And so your inability to work together allowed them all to get away." Splinter said.
"Well maybe if our surface expert actually knew his way around town, we could have caught them." Raph said looking at Gio.
"Well maybe if someone didn't question me wanting to help people, we could have stopped them before they got away." Gio said looking at Leo.
"Hey, if you hadn't gotten in my way, I could have done it. And you went flying off on your own. How smart was that?" Leo asks looking at Donnie.
"Well, it would've worked out great if somebody hadn't hit me in the head with their nunchucks!" Donnie said looking at Mikey.
"Well, none of this would've happened if…" Mikey looks to his left only to see there was no one to blame. "Somebody hadn't trusted us to go up there in the first place." Mikey before they all paused seeing he blamed Master Splinter. "Oh, geez. Sensei, I didn't mean to—" Mikey said.
"No Michelangelo, you're right." Splinter said.
"I am?" He asks.
"He is?" The others ask.
"You were not fully prepared for what was up there. I trained you to fight as individuals, not as a team. And as your teacher, your father, the responsibility for that is mine. Perhaps in another year we can try again." Splinter said.
"A year? Sensei we can't wait. That girl and her father need help now. They don't have a year. She was about to trust me and Donnie we have to go help them." Gio said.
"He's right, she was counting on us to save her." Donnie said.
Pausing Splinter turns around and looks at a picture of him when he was human with his wife and a baby girl. Narrowing his eyes Splinter thought about what they had to do. "Yes, you must save her."
"I agree, sensei. But in that fight, we weren't exactly a well-oiled machine." Leo points out.
"Like that robot with the brain thingy." Mikey brings up.
"Give it a rest." Raph said annoyed.
"Hmm. If you are to fight more effectively as a unit, you are going to need a leader and quite possibly a second in command." Splinter said.
"Can I be the leader?" Leo asks raising his hand.
"Please second in command for second place. I kicked your butt I should be leader." Raph said.
"No way I'm the only human in this group I have the most real-world experience. I should be leader." Gio said.
"Hey, I'm smarter than all you guys put together. It should be me." Donnie said.
"No it should be me!" Mikey said as all his brothers looked at him with wide eyes waiting for a reason. "I don't really have a reason. I just think it would be neat."
"This is a difficult decision. I will meditate on this." Splinter said closing the door as he walked into another room but seconds later he opened it back up. "It's Leonardo, Giovanni you're second in command." Splinter declares closing the door again.
Looking at each other Leo and Gio high three.
"No hard feelings Raph?" Leo asks but Raph grumbles standing up.
"Stick it in your shell." Raph growls.
Soon they were back on the rooftops, looking down at the building.
"Explain to me one more time what we're doing here." Mikey asks causing them to groan.
"Mikey, we've been over this. That building has the same logo as the van that was used to kidnap the family. So if we wait here long enough, one of the kidnappers will eventually show his face. And when he does, we'll make him tell us where they took them." Leo explains.
"And then we got a van." Mikey grins.
"Just hit the guy I tell you to hit." Gio said.
"Can do." Mikey nods.
"Are you sure this is gonna work?" Raph asks.
"Trust me. They'll be here any second." Leo said.
However it took much longer than expected, hours had passed and they were all bored out of their minds.
Looking down Gio noticed something on the TVs at the electronic store.
"Hey guys check this out." Gio points as they walked over.
Looking over at the TV they saw various people in weird costumes battling a monster.
"Yesterday the Justice League had one of its toughest battles yet as Superman and 7 other members fought hard against the Android Amazo. A battle that took almost 4 hours but, in the end, the good guys won. This is Lois Lane." A woman reporter said.
"Justice League? What the heck is that some kind of club?" Leo asks.
"I'm not sure." Gio said.
"It took eight people four hours to defeat one robot?" Donnie asks.
"Boy talk about lame I bet we could have done it in less than one." Raph said.
"Still Superman? Amazon? I want a cool name like that." Mikey said.
"And look at how they dress. Capes, weird logos on their chests, not to mention all those flashy colors." Gio said.
"Those guys would make lousy ninjas." Leo said as he looked over to see no one was there.
"Give it up already. The guy's not gonna show." Raph said.
"We have to be patient." Leo said.
"No, you have to come up with a better plan, 'cause the five of us standing here with our thumbs up our noses." Raph said.
"I don't think they would fit." Mikey said.
"Gio you're second in command tell him to do something else." Raph orders.
"You sure about that Raph?" Gio asks as they see the van pull up.
"Ugh should've asked two hours ago." Raph groans.
"Gentlemen, I have a bold and daring plan. There's no time for hesitation. My orders must be carried out without question." Leo said but when he looked around, he saw his brothers had already left. "Guys? Guys wait up!"
Coming out of the van the driver looked to see the 5 of them approaching him.
"Alright buddy we can do this the easy way or the hard way." Raph said as they all drew their weapons.
"Yeah, look at it logically. There are five of us and one of you. What are you gonna do?" Donnie asks when he pulls out a laser and fires at them.
"You had to ask!" Raph said as they leaped out of the way.
Using this opening the man got in his van and drove off.
"He's not getting away this time!" Gio said as they climbed up onto the rooftops.
"No he's not!" Leo said.
As the van raced through the streets the 5 of them leaped across the rooftops following him.
Leaping in Raph lands on the hood of the van causing the driver to swerve and turn trying to throw him off.
Using his sai Raph held on for dear life but he made a tight turn throwing him off.
"Gio I need a shuriken!" Leo calls out.
Opening another pocket in his vest, Gio pulls out a shuriken and tosses it to Leo.
Running to the edge, Leo leaps off the roof and throws the shuriken hitting the front wheel causing the van to flip over and crash to the ground.
"Now we're talking." Leo grins.
Heading to the streets, Leo looks ahead at the crash with the others behind him.
Looking to them he made a series of weird hand signals.
"I don't know what that means." Raph said.
"Go around back." Leo said.
"Then why didn't you just say that?" Mikey asks.
Making their way to the back of the van, Gio opens it and a single canister of a glowing liquid landed at Mikey's feet.
"Mom?" Mikey gasps.
"Whoa wait you mean that's it?" Gio asks
"The mutagen that turned us all into what we are now." Donnie said.
"Sweet! Gio bottoms up!" Mikey said.
"What?!" Gio said surprised.
"Why would you want our human brother to drink this?" Raph asks.
"So it'll turn him into a mutant turtle like us." Mikey said.
"Or it could turn me into something worse." Gio said.
"Guys, this is huge. Whoever kidnapped those people are somehow connected to what happened to us 15 years ago and maybe even when Splinter found Gio 10 years ago." Leo said.
"How is that possible?" Donnie asks.
"For alien robots, anything is possible." Mikey said.
"Stop that. There are no such thing as alien robots!" Donnie said.
"Oh yeah." Mikey said walking over to the driver. "Well, if there's no such thing as alien robots, how do you explain this?" Mikey asks pulling on his face.
"Aah! Aah! My face!" He screams.
"Man this mask is on tight." Mikey growls.
"Mikey stop that's not a mask!" Leo said.
"He's human like me." Gio said.
"Okay. He's in the clear. But those other guys were totally alien robots." Mikey said letting go.
"Enough! Time to get some answers!" Raph said grabbing the mutagen before walking over. "Who are you and what's going on?"
"Name's Snake, and I got nothing to say to you hideous freaks."
"Well that's because you don't know us yet." Raph said throwing Snake back only for Donnie and Mikey to hold him down. "See, we were just regular guys until we got hit with a little of this. Our bro right here, he was lucky he didn't get hit." Raph said gesturing to Gio before opening the canister.
"W-What are you doing?" Snake gulps in fear.
"Playing a little game I like to call Mutation Roulette. Now you could turn out handsome like me, or you might end up disgusting and deformed, like Mikey here." Raph smirks.
"Hey!" Mikey said.
"So feeling lucky?" Raph asks tilting the canister and the ooze started to drip towards Snake.
"Okay, okay! They call themselves the Kraang. They been grabbing scientists from all over the city." Snake admits as Raph pulls back.
"Whoa nice job. Worked like a charm." Gio smiles.
"Of course it did, would you wanna look like Mikey?" Raph jokes.
"I'm right here." Mikey said.
"No offense Mikey but I wanna stay human." Gio jokes.
"What do they want with scientists?" Leo asks.
"I don't know." Snake said as Raph shook the canister. "All I know is they're taking them out of the city tonight, but I don't know where!" Snake admits.
"Whoa, that girl's dad is a scientist. I'm a scientist." Donnie smiles.
"Maybe she'll help us after we help her." Gio said.
"I don't think any of you boys are her type." Snake said causing Gio to kick him in the gut.
"Nice shot." Raph said.
"It needed to be done." Gio smirks.
"Now where are they?" Leo asks getting back to business.
Up on a new rooftop, as Mikey was keeping an eye on Snake the others were looking at the base when Gio opened his vest and pulled out a small telescope to give to Leo.
"Wow you really do load that thing up with tons of gear." Leo said impressed.
"Don't suppose you got anything to shut Mikey up?" Raph asks.
"Uh…will this work?" Gio asks pulling out duct tape.
"Ehh not what I was hoping for but good enough." Raph said.
Looking through them, Leo saw tons of those men in suits equipped with blasters and a helicopter on the roof.
"There's gotta be like 20 of them down there." Leo said.
"And that's just the ones we can see." Donnie said.
"All right! An all-you-can-beat buffet!" Raph grins taking out his sai.
"We can't just rush in we need a plan." Gio said.
"What why?" Raph asks.
"Think, you shellbrain. There are innocent lives at stake. If we screw this up, they're all goners." Donnie said.
"Then we won't screw it up." Raph said.
"Boy I could really go for some of that pizza right now." Mikey said standing nearby. "What? I can't be the only one that's hungry."
"Mikey where's Snake?" Leo asks.
"Huh?" Mikey looks and realized he forgot he was watching him and the man was making an escape. "Oh geez."
"Get him!" Gio yells as they leaped down the fire escape.
"You guys go that way we'll go this way!" Leo said as he and Raph went one way while Gio, Donnie and Mikey went the other way towards a wall.
"Maybe he went over this wall." Gio said.
"I'm on it." Mikey said as Gio and Donnie cupped their hands together.
"Alley-oop!" Donnie said as they launched Mikey over the wall which was followed by tons of crashing, glass shattering, dog barking and Mikey screaming.
"Yeah I don't think he went this way." Gio cringed.
"Nope." Donnie cringed as Mikey climbed back up groaning in pain.
"Definitely didn't come this way." Mikey groans.
Down the other path, Raph and Leo looked down an alley for any sign of Snake when Leo heard a clattering noise.
Looking to Raph he gestured his head saying he was down there.
"Oh, great. We let him get away." Leo said acting innocent.
"Whoa, whoa. You're the leader. That means you let him get away." Raph said.
"Not helping." Leo growls.
"Wasn't trying to." Raph smirks.
"Ok ok. You want me to lead? Fine. We go back to the lair, gear up, and at midnight, we drive snake's van right up to the gate. They'll think we're him, and we'll cruise right in." Leo said.
"And then we bust some heads?" Raph asks.
"And then we bust some heads." Leo nods.
"I love a happy ending." Raph said as they walked away while Snake had an evil grin on his face.
At the lair, everyone was in their separate areas.
With his welding goggles on Donnie was trying to make some extra weapons for them.
Nearby Raph was looking at someone. "I know you're a little worried about me. Look, I'm not gonna lie to you. We've never gone into a fight like this, and I don't know what's gonna happen. But you don't have to worry. I will make it back. I love you, man." Raph said as we see he was talking to a regular turtle. His pet, Shelly.
"Aww. Are you talking to your pet turtle?" Mikey asks revealing he was watching from nearby.
"No. Shut up!" Raph snaps.
"That's adorable." Mikey said.
"Oh I'm gonna crush you!" Raph said chasing after Mikey. "I'm gonna shellac you!"
In the other room, Leo and Gio were sitting down trying to think of a plan.
"So what if we did this and then this?" Gio asks.
"Yeah this plan could actually work." Leo smiles.
"No plan ever survives contact with the enemy. It is how you react to the unexpected that will determine if you and your brothers succeed." Splinter said walking over.
"Sensei are we ready for this?" Gio asks.
"Giovanni, I made you and Leonardo in charge for a reason." Splinter said.
"Why is that?" Leo asks.
"That is for you to discover on your own." Splinter said.
"But what if something goes wrong? What if we mess up?" Leo asks.
"Failure is a possibility every leader must face, Leonardo. It is something I had to face in Japan during my final battle with my enemy, the Shredder. Years ago, Oroku Saki, as Shredder was called then, had been my friend, but the love of a woman came between us. He could not accept it, and his jealousy turned outward in a vengeful attack. And while he could not defeat me that day, my world fell and crumbled around me as the battle took the life of my beloved Tang Shen, and I lost my baby daughter, Miwa." Splinter explains.
"But sensei that's the point. You lost everything." Gio said.
"I lost many things. My family, my home, my name. But I gained many things as well, like the five of you." Splinter said putting a hand on Gio's shoulder. "Look at you for instance, when I found you that day you had lost everything as well but now you have so much more. What you sometimes you lose you can gain."
Smiling Gio and Leo stood up. "Don't worry. We can handle this." Leo said.
"We'll make you proud." Gio smiles when suddenly Mikey runs past them screaming.
"Get back here!" Raph yells.
"Well most of us will." Leo cringed.
At the mysterious base, April was pounding on the door of her cell.
"Hey, you can't keep us in here like this! We know our rights!" April yells.
"I don't think they care about that, April." Kirby said.
"We can't just sit here. We've gotta do something." April said.
"Like what?" Kirby asks when April pauses getting an idea.
From outside one man in a suit walked up to the cell.
"Oh, my stomach! The pain is unbearable!" April said.
Looking inside he saw April groaning on the floor.
When he opens it Kirby slowly tries to sneak by only to be spotted.
Using this chance April leaps up and tries to attack but does nothing as the man completely ignores her and gestures for Kirby to go back to his seat before putting April down before leaving.
"Well, I guess we can just sit here." April admits.
Outside Snake and the men in suits were waiting for the turtles to show up.
"They'll be here any minute." Snake said.
"Kraang, are those who are coming to this place coming to this place?" One asks.
"I lack that knowledge, Kraang. I will inquire of Kraang about that knowledge. Do you have the knowledge if those coming to this place are near this place, Kraang?"
"They're turtles! Call them turtles! Call them turtles!" Snake snaps.
"There are lights of a vehicle which contain that which you wish us to call the turtles coming to this place which you wish us to call here." A Kraang said.
"What are you talking about?" Snake asks when he sees his van driving towards the base at full speed.
The Kraang and Snake fired multiple shots but the van kept coming causing them to leap out of the way as the van crashed into the wall and some mutagen fell on Snake causing him to scream and mutate.
Walking over to the destroyed van, the Kraang examined it.
"The ones coming to this place are not in the vehicle bringing them to this place." One Kraang said.
"Then in what place are the ones called the turtles?" Another Kraang asks.
Nearby, Leo, Gio, Raph, Donnie and Mike were scaling the walls using the metal claws Donnie made earlier while everyone's eyes were on the wreckage.
"Wow, lucky thing that van showed up to distract them." Mikey said.
"Oh boy." Gio rolls his eyes.
"That was the plan, Mikey. We knew snake was hiding in the alley, so Raph and I made him think we would be in the van." Leo explains.
"But we weren't in the van." Mikey said.
"Just keep climbing." Leo said.
"Can do." Mikey said as they scaled the wall.
Inside the base, tons of Kraang and robots were making their way through the halls when the vent dropped down allowing Leo and Raph to destroy the two Kraang standing guard.
Jumping in all 5 brothers looked in awe at the enemy base.
"Well this is unexpected." Gio said.
"Wow, I've never seen anything like this. They're using a metal alloy that I don't even recognize." Donnie said.
"Gosh! A metal alloy even you don't know about! It boggles the mind." Raph said sarcastically.
"Dude, you wanna talk metallurgy with me? Bring it." Donnie challenges.
"I don't and I—"
"Guys focus, we're in an enemy base. Save the fighting for the enemy not each other." Gio said.
Making their way down the hall they stopped seeing 5 Kraangdroids guarding the path.
"Whoa, Alien Robots." Donnie said.
"Alien robots, huh? Hmm, where have I heard that before? Oh, yeah! I've been saying it for hours!" Mikey said blowing their cover as the Kraangdroids attacked.
Looking up the 5 ninjas ran in dodging fire.
Charging in first Gio slid past one before sweeping its legs and jabbing it in the chest with his tonfas.
Leaping in Mikey whacks the other with his nunchuks.
Getting behind one Donnie throws it across the room while Raph stabs the other with his sai.
As Leo faced the last one it fired multiple blast but Leo slashes it in half.
Smiling at their victory they look to see the Kraang monster inside screaming at them causing them to jump surprised when Mikey whacks it on the head.
"See? See? It's a brain thing! I told you! I told you! But did any of you believe me? No! 'Cause you all think I'm just some kind of bonehead!" Mikey said when the Kraang screeched and bit his arm.
Screaming Mikey flailed his arm around wildly before throwing it across the room hitting a button turning on the alarm.
"Mikey!" Leo, Gio, Donnie and Raph snap.
"Okay! But I was still right about the brain thing. You gotta give me that." Mikey said.
"Whatever you were right about the brains, now we gotta move." Gio said.
"Move where?" Raph asks when Donnie noticed something.
"I think those are power conduits." Donnie points.
"Oh! That's really interesting! Thanks for sharing, Donnie." Raph said sarcastically.
"Meathead, the conduits are all converging that way, which means that whatever is going on in that direction is important!" Donnie snaps.
Smirking Gio and Leo look to them and gesture to follow the smart one.
"You just got spanked." Mikey laughs pointing at him when Raph grabs his finger. "Ow! Ow! Mercy!"
Running down the hall, Gio looks to see a cell. Popping his head in he saw April and her dad.
"Guys over here!" Gio calls out.
"Yes! We found them." Donnie smiles when Kraangdroids came in.
"We'll hold them off, you guys pick the locks." Leo said as he, Raph and Mikey charge in.
"Don't worry we'll have you out in no time." Gio said.
"Okay uh Lizard boy." April said.
"Turtles actually and my name is Giovanni this is my brother Donatello." Gio said.
"Brother?" April asks as Donnie nods surprising her. "April."
"Hang on April you'll be out in no time." Gio said taking out some lock picking tools and getting to work while Donnie covered him.
Screaming Mikey leaps in and knocks the Kraangdroids away when one comes in towards Gio but Donnie whacks it away.
"Not to rush you, but hurry up!" April said through the window.
"Hey this isn't a simple lock ya know. This is high tech stuff." Gio snaps looking up.
"Uh sorry." April apologizes.
"Oh for the love of. Get out of my way." Raph said pushing Gio out of the way and slashes the power grid multiple times with his sai.
But before they could get their door open Kraangdroids came in from the other side and grabbed April and Kirby.
"April!" Gio gasps as they ran after them with the Kraang right behind them.
"Get the door!" Leo said as they made it out only for Raph to slam the door on a robot breaking its arm off.
Thinking quickly Raph shoved it through the handles stopping them.
"That outta hold em." Raph said as everyone looked at him weirdly. "What?"
"Dude, you are seriously twisted." Leo said.
"Thanks." Raph smiles.
"No! Let me go!" Looking up they saw the Kraang leading April and Kirby to the top.
"Come on guys!" Leo said as they ran to catch them only for a large plant monster to get in their way.
"Uh oh." Mikey gulps.
"You did this to me! Now you're going to pay!" The monster yells revealing it to be Snake.
"It's Snake! He mutated into a giant weed!" Gio gasps.
"That's weird. You'd think he'd get mutated into a snake." Mikey said.
"Yeah, you would, if you were an idiot." Raph said.
"But his name is Snake." Mikey points out.
"So?" Raph asks.
"You don't understand science." Mikey said when Snake's giant root legs grew.
"I'll crush you turtles!" Snake hisses.
"Uh, would it help if we said it was an accident?" Donnie asks as Snake lifts his arms to show giant venus fly trap like plants on the end of them.
"I'm gonna say no." Gio said as they all leaped out of the way.
Roaring Snake flings his arms at them but Leo leaps up and slashes one arm off with ease but what surprised everyone was that it grew back.
"It grew back? No fair." Donnie said when they heard the helicopter starting.
"Gio!" Leo said turning to his brother.
Nodding Gio ran towards Leo who cups his hands and launches him up to the next floor.
As Kirby and April were put into the helicopter Gio ran up.
Thinking quickly, he ran as fast as he could before pulling out his chains.
Throwing them with all his might they wrap around the bottom allowing him to swing in and climb up towards them.
Down below, Donnie, Leo, and Mikey were doing all they could but every time they cut off his arms they grew back.
Using his metal claws Raph slashes the legs but ends up covered in goo.
"Yuck." Raph said grossed out.
"Snakeweed is really powerful!" Mikey said.
"Snakeweed?" Donnie asks.
"Yeah! His name was Snake, and now he's a weed, so.." Miikey hints.
"We get it!" Raph said.
"We just have to hold it off until Gio gets back." Leo said when the Kraang broke down the door and attacked. "While not getting shot by alien robots."
"With Brains!" Mikey adds.
"Let it go, man!" Raph said as they leaped out of the way avoiding fire.
Fighting off Snakeweed and the Kraang proved to be a challenge as they boxed them in.
When Kraang fire hit Snakeweed he roared and swings a large vine knocking them all to the ground.
"So what's the plan chief?" Raph asks.
"I'm working on it." Leo said when Snakeweed grabbed his leg and yanks him into the air and he noticed a generator. "The power conduits!"
"Are we really doing this again?!" Raph asks.
"No he's right. It's so stupid it's brilliant!" Donnie said.
"Raph, Mikey, Donnie!" Leo does a series of hand gestures and the three of them nod knowing what it meant.
Doing a backflip Leo slashes Snakeweed freeing himself.
Up above, Gio had managed to climb up to the rails when a Kraang opened the door and was about to fire.
"Seriously?" Gio growls.
It fired at him but Gio moves causing it to bounce off his shell shield with ease causing Gio's eyes to widen as he grinned.
"I love this thing." Gio said as he grabbed a shuriken from his vest before throwing it hitting the Kraang in the face before he leaped up and threw it overboard.
Turning around the Kraang fired at them causing it to hit the helicopter and making April fall out.
"I got ya." Gio said grabbing her. "Hang on." Pulling with all his might Gio undid his chains causing them to fall off before he slipped his shell downwards causing him and April to slide down like on a skateboard until they were safely down.
"Whoa, that was wild." April said impressed.
"Welcome to my world. You okay?" Gio asks.
"Dad." April said as they looked up to see the helicopter getting away.
As Snakeweed attacked Raph, Mikey and Donnie the three of them ran towards the Kraang before taunting them.
Aiming their guns they fired at the turtles before leaping out of the way resulting in them blasting Snakeweed causing him to step back towards the generator where Leo was waiting.
"What are they up to?" Gio asks as he and April ran in.
Throwing some shuriken at him, Snakeweed turns to see Leo behind him.
"Hey, come and get me, stinkweed!" Leo taunts.
Turning around Snakeweed attacks him but Leo leaps out of the way as the Kraang continue fire causing Snakeweed to hit the power generator resulting in an explosion.
"We better go." Gio said as he grabbed April and the others followed them and escaped.
"Kraang, the ones in this place are not in this place where they were." One Kraang said.
"The ones are called turtles, Kraang. They are dangerous to what we are doing in this place and other places." Another Kraang said.
"Yes, I am knowledge of that. The turtles must be eliminated from all places." Kraang declares.
Looking down at the destroyed body of Snakeweed he seemed dead when suddenly we heard a heartbeat.
Back at April's apartment, the turtles dropped her off by the fire escape.
"You gonna be alright?" Donnie asks.
"I guess. My aunt says I can stay here as long as I want, but I'll be a lot better when I track down the creeps that took my dad." April said.
"Won't the police help?" Leo asks.
"Funny thing. When you tell them your dad was kidnapped by alien brains in robot bodies, they don't take you all that seriously." April chuckles.
"I hear that." Mikey said in agreement.
"April I promise, we'll help find your dad." Gio said walking up to her.
"We won't?" Raph asks when Leo and Donnie nudge him.
"No we won't." Donnie said.
"Thank you but it's not your fight." April said.
"Yes it is, we're all in this together. Me, my brothers, your dad and you April." Gio smiles holding out his hand.
Looking at him, April smiles softly as she took his hand and shook it. "Thank you." April smiles as they leaped away.
"Ugh what why can't I be the people person?" Donnie asks.
"For starters you gotta be a person." Raph smirks.
"And sadly I'm the only one of us that fits the bill." Gio smirks.
"Hey guys what do you say we get some pizza to celebrate?" Mikey suggests.
"Oh yeah!" All of them smile.
In the dojo, Leo sat in front of Splinter.
"I am impressed, Leonardo. You proved to be an effective leader under the most difficult of circumstances." Splinter smiles.
"Thank you, sensei. And I think I figured out why you made me leader." Leo said.
"Why is that?" Splinter asks.
"Because you sensed inside me a true warrior's spirit that could forge us all into the heroes we are destined to become." Leo smiles.
"No." Splinter said confusing him.
"No? Then why?" Leo asks.
"Because you asked." Splinter said.
"That's it?" Leo asks.
"But you seemed so certain you were right. As a leader, you will learn that there is no right and wrong, only choices." Splinter said.
"So you could have chosen any of us?" Leo asks.
"Yes." Splinter nods.
"Even Mikey?" Leo cringed.
"No. That would have been wrong." Splinter chuckles.
"Okay…but why did you pick Gio to be my second in command?" Leo asks.
"Giovanni is strong, though he is not a turtle like you boys he is strong like each of you. He will be a great hero but he is not meant for the role of leadership…at least not yet." Splinter smiles.
"So by being my second in command Gio is able to contribute to the team so he can learn and be the leader himself when he as to." Leo realized.
"Exactly." Splinter nods.
"Everybody! Come here! We made the news!" Mikey calls out.
Making their way to the TV, all of them saw the news story.
"A report of get this ninjas in New York. Don't believe me? After residents reported a disturbance, the police recovered this." On screen an image of their shuriken appeared. "For channel six news, this is Carlos Chang O'Brien Gambe saying, Hi-Ya!"
"Cool." Gio said.
"Cool? This is awesome! We're gonna be famous!" Mikey cheers.
"You must be more careful. The ninja's most powerful weapon is the shadows. Being brought out into the light is a dangerous thing." Splinter warns.
"Relax, sensei. It's one little news story. What's the worst that can happen?" Raph asks.
Meanwhile in Tokyo, a shadowy figure was watching the news.
"Ninjas in New York. Don't believe me? After residents reported a disturbance, the police recovered this. Recovered this." As the shuriken appeared on screen.
"So my old enemy is in New York, and training his own army. At last, I can finish what I started so long ago. Prepare my jet. I'm going to visit an old friend." He orders before putting on a sharp helmet.
Meanwhile in a secret base, an image of Ninjas in New York appeared along with images of Kirby O'Neil and other scientists.
"Ninjas in New York and several scientists gone missing? This can't be a coincidence." Stepping out of the shadows we see Batman turning to 6 figures.
One was a teenage boy wore a yellow supersuit with a red lightning bolt and goggles on his head. One was a teenage boy wearing a black t-shirt with a big red S on it. One was a teenage girl with blonde hair, a green outfit with a mask over her face and a bow and quiver strapped to her back. One was a teenage boy with black hair, a cape and a red supersuit. One was a teenage boy with tan skin and a shaved head. And the last was a teenage girl with long hair, green skin, and a white and blue outfit.
These were Kid Flash, Superboy, Artemis, Robin, Aqualad and Miss Martian.
"Why would Ninjas be in New York?" Artemis asks.
"Maybe they like New York Pizza, I know I do." Kid Flash said.
"Doubtful. If it's ninjas it could be the League of Shadows at work here." Batman said.
"They did this earlier with Dr. Serling Roquette so maybe these other ones know something." Miss Martian said.
"So what are your orders?" Robin asks.
"I want you kids to head to New York and see what exactly we're dealing with and report back. Be careful of any suspicious or dangerous individuals." Batman said.
"If we look into these missing scientists maybe we can find some clues." Kid Flash said.
"Someone must know something." Robin said.
"Let's go team." Aqualad said as they turn away bound for New York as well.
