Chapter 10: Monkey Brains
Hey everyone I'm back with a new chapter. And I'm excited to say this story now has over 200 followers and favorites! Whoo! Thank you all for your support! You guys rock and I hope you'll like what I have planned. Please Review and Enjoy.
We find ourselves at the Turtle's base as Mikey and Donnie faced off in the Dojo with Gio nearby.
As the two turtles sparred Donnie grabs Mikey and throws him over his back but Mikey does a backflip and landed across from him.
"Ha!" Mikey laughs sticking the landing.
"What are you doing? You don't defend against Seoi Nage with backflips." Donnie points out.
"Why not? Back flips are where it's at." Mikey said.
"The best defense is to roll along my back, then take me to the ground and put me in an armlock. Unless, of course, I counter with a—" Donnie theorizes.
"Hey man you can't take the fire out of—hiyah!" Mikey said doing a backflip again. "Dr. Flipenstien."
"I don't even know what that means. Gio back me up here." Donnie said.
"Give it up Donnie. You're arguing with a guy who has the attention span of a fly." Gio said polishing his shield.
"What kind of fly because I saw a pretty big one in the garbage yesterday?" Mikey asks ignoring the fact that he was insulted.
Groaning Donnie notices Master Splinter walk in and approaches him.
"Master Splinter, what would you do if someone tried to throw you with Seoi Nage?" Donnie asks.
"I don't know." Splinter shrugs.
"Come on, you must have planned a response for every attack." Donnie assumes.
"If you think too much about what is coming, you lose sight of what is. You must be fully in the moment so you can fight without thinking." Splinter explains.
"Why would I want to fight without thinking?" Donnie asks.
"Allow me to demonstrate. Prepare to defend against Seoi Nage." Splinter said attacking Donnie and pinning him to the ground.
"Ooh." Mikey and Gio wince.
"That wasn't Seoi Nage." Donnie groans as Splinter chuckles.
"No, but you thought it would be. Now, would you like to prepare to defend against a spinning back-kick?" Splinter offers.
"No I'm good." Donnie said almost immediately.
"Know what would have worked back there? Backflip." Mikey said.
As he jumps to do one Gio tossed his shield where Mikey landed causing him to slip and fall.
"How did you—" Mikey groans.
"If you use the same move over and over again you become very predictable." Gio smirks.
"And Giovanni wins." Splinter declares since he was the only brother not on the ground in pain.
Later that day, the 5 turtle brothers hung out in the main room.
"I tell you Gio how does everything seem to work out for you. You weren't even fighting and Master Splinter named you the winner." Donnie said.
"You're overthinking it, Donnie. It was just Master Splinter having a laugh since you and Mikey were knocked down." Gio said.
"Aw man I wish I was there to see that." Raph chuckles.
"Still Gio you have so many qualities that none of us have. You don't have to hide yourself. You can literally do whatever you want whenever you want." Donnie said.
"Donnie I'm literally bound to the same rules as you guys. The only difference is I'm a human who errands during the day." Gio corrects.
"Yeah you got loads of qualities that the rest of us don't." Leo said.
"Like how you're nerdier than all of us." Raph smirks.
Suddenly April came running in with her laptop.
"Guys!" April calls out getting their attention.
"April?" Gio said surprised.
"You guys gotta check this out." Opening her laptop, April pulled up a news story.
"Renowned neurochemist Dr. Tyler Rockwell has been reported missing. I spoke with Rockwell's colleague, Dr. Victor Falco."
During the interview, we see a man with black and white hair in a lab coat.
"I hadn't heard from him in days, so I stopped by his lab. The place was a mess and he was gone. I fear the worst." Falco said as April closed her laptop.
"So?" Leo asks.
"So the Kraang have been kidnapping scientists from all over the city, including my Dad! Maybe that's what happened to this Rockwell guy." April assumes.
"I don't know. When the Kraang grabbed your dad it was in the middle of night with no witnesses." Gio said.
"They may not even be connected at all." Leo agrees.
"There's only one way to find out. We should go to that lab and look around." April said.
Gio was about to volunteer but noticed the look on Donnie's face.
"You know what? Why don't you take Donnie with you? A lab is right up his alley." Gio said.
"Heck yeah it is." Donnie grins. "Come on April."
"So should we call the team about this?" Leo asks.
"I'll leave a message with Aqualad." Gio said.
"Still now we don't have to deal with Donnie's whining." Raph chuckles.
Taking out his phone he dialed Aqualad.
"Giovanni what's going on?" Aqualad asks.
"Aqualad we have another Scientist kidnapping in town and we think it might be the Kraang. Any chance you guys can help us look into this?" Gio asks.
"Sadly the team is proving to be unavailable at the time, but I might know someone who can help." Aqualad said getting his attention.
"Who? Another Justice League hero?" Gio asks.
"Not exactly, but he's been a close ally of Robin, Kid Flash, and myself for years. He'll help you." Aqualad said.
"Well it's better than nothing. Thanks, Aqualand." Gio said hanging up.
Later that night, we see Donnie and April in front of the lab before the lock opens.
"There isn't an electronic lock out there my digital lock pick can't crack." Donnie said proudly.
"Smooth." April said making Donnie chuckle.
Turning on a flashlight, they made their way in to see the entire lab was destroyed with an open vent in the ceiling.
"This place is a wreck." Donnie said when April noticed a cage that was broken open.
"Ugh, he must have been experimenting on animals." April said in disgust.
Shining her flashlight around they noticed a freaky chair with arm and leg cuffs.
"Either someone was up to some secret research, or they were renting space to one freaky dentist." Donnie said.
Making their way to his desk, they examined the contents when Donnie noticed a faint glow emitting from the bottom drawer.
Slowly lifting a hidden compartment Donnie pulls out a canister of Mutagen.
"Mutagen?" Donnie gasps.
Suddenly a man with a golf club comes in.
"Donnie look out!" April said as Donnie blocks the attack with his staff and pins the attacker to the ground.
Running to the light, April turns it on revealing the attacker to be Dr. Falco.
"Dr. Falco?" April said as he gasped at the sight of Donnie.
"What are you?!"
"Relax. I'm not gonna hurt you." Donnie assures.
"You already have!" Dr. Falco points out.
"I mean anymore." Donnie smirks helping him up.
"Don't worry we're here to help." April assures.
Soon they were sitting down to talk.
"I'm sorry. I wish I knew something about your father, but I don't." Dr. Falco said.
"What can you tell us about this?" Donnie asks holding up the mutagen.
"Some shady corporate goon paid Rockwell a lot of money to experiment with it." Falco points out.
"Did he look like this?" April asks showing a picture of a Kraang disguise.
"That's him." Falco confirms.
"The Kraang." Donnie growls.
"Well, I wanted no part of that stuff. Who knows what kind of monstrosities could result? No offense." Falco said looking at Donnie.
"Some taken." Donnie said.
"Is that what was in that cage over there? One of his monstrosities?" April asks.
"Can we ease up on the M-word?" Donnie asks tired of that.
"That's where he kept the monkey he was experimenting on." Falco said.
"Guess it didn't like being experimented on." Donnie said.
"Rockwell didn't treat it well." Falco said.
"Maybe the Kraang didn't take Rockwell. Maybe the monkey went berserk, busted out of the cage, and dragged him off or worse." April assumes.
Little did they know a third figure was listening in from the outside.
As the two of them made their way back, April and Donnie compared notes.
"So how do you suppose we're gonna find Rockwell without any leads?" April asks when a strange monkey climbed up on the roof nearby.
"Well, maybe we'll know more once we have a look at his flash drive." Donnie said getting her attention.
"What flash drive?" April asks.
"The one I took off his desk." Donnie smirks taking it out.
"Nice." April smiles
"Yeah bet not even Gio would have come up with something half as coo—" Before Donnie could finish a strange monkey jumped down, but it had strange gadgets on his wrists and waist and his lower body looked almost human.
Grabbing his staff, Donnie took a stance.
"Careful Donnie. That's a dangerous mutant." April warns.
"That makes two of us." Donnie goes on the attack but the Monkey was able to read his every move and dodge everything he threw at him.
Moving in the monkey kicks Donnie in the chest knocking him to the ground and his staff out of his hands.
"Donnie are you okay?" April asks.
"I'm good." Donnie assures.
Switching to hand-to-hand combat, the monkey read all his moves and beat Donnie like a drum. Figuratively and literally.
Turning around the monkey set its sights on April.
Making its way towards her April was afraid but then noticed a scared look on its face.
"It's okay. Everything's going to be all right. What? What is it?" April asks.
Suddenly an arrow flew in landing in front of the Monkey causing it to roar in fear.
"What in the?" April looks to see a figure with a bow and arrow. "Artemis?" April smiles.
"Artemis?" Jumping down the figure revealed himself to be a teenage boy with a red and black gear, a quiver full of arrows on his back, a red bow in his hand, red hair, and a mask. "Do I look anything like her?"
As the monkey turns to the new hero it screeched before making an escape.
"Geez Aqualad said he made some weird new friends and he wasn't kidding." He said looking at Donnie.
"Donnie are you okay?" April asks helping him up.
"Just my pride. And my internal organs." Donnie said looking at the new guy. "Aqualad sent you?"
"Yeah and now I see why after seeing that humiliating fight. That was pathetic." He mocks.
"Hey listen pal—" April said.
"My name isn't pal. It's Red Arrow." He declares.
Making their way back to the base, Red Arrow looked around.
"Well this isn't as bad as they made it sound." Red Arrow said.
Looking over Leo, Gio, Raph and Mikey saw their injured brother and ran over.
"April what happened?" Leo asks.
"And who is this guy?" Mikey asks.
"Aqualad sent me. Name's Red Arrow." He said.
"Oh cool. Thanks for helping our brother. What happened to him?" Gio asks.
"He got beat up by a lab monkey." April said.
Concerned the 4 brothers took Donnie from him and put him on the couch to rest.
"April can you get him an ice pack?" Leo asks.
"Donnie you gonna be okay?" Gio asks.
"Yeah. Yeah I'll be fine." Donnie assures.
"Well in that case." Leo said as their concerned looks changed to grins.
Bursting into laughter the four of them pointed and laughed at their brother.
"You got beat up by a lab monkey?!" Raph laughs.
"You had to let the new guy save you?!" Leo laughs.
"Hey that monkey was vicious." Donnie said.
"Yeah I'm sure it was bananas!" Gio said making them all laugh.
"No. No. It went ape on you." Leo said making them laugh harder.
"You know there is actually a very dangerous Justice League villain that also happens to be a gorilla." Red Arrow said getting their attention. "And let me tell you, you're lucky that wasn't the same primate because he would kill the 5 of you without batting an eye."
"Okay no more monkey puns." Raph said as April walked in with the ice.
"Were you guys seriously laughing at him because he was hurt?" April asks.
"No we were laughing at him because he got hurt by a monkey." Mikey laughs.
"It's a sibling thing. So uh Red Arrow how come we haven't heard of you until now?" Gio asks.
"I'm not part of that little team. I do things on my own." Red Arrow said.
"You're not alone now." Raph points out.
"I'm helping you as a favor. Aqualad, Robin, Kid Flash and I go way back, but I gotta say you guys are not what I expected at all." Red Arrow said
"Yeah we give off that vibe, but while you're here maybe you can help us figure out what's happened to Rockwell." April said.
"That's why I'm here." Red Arrow shrugs.
After Donnie's wounds were healed, he was reflecting on the humiliating defeat.
"I just don't get it. I mean, I'm a highly trained martial artist. How could I lose to something so mindless?" Donnie asks confused.
"Well maybe you went about it the wrong way." Gio said as he and Splinter approached him.
"You are very intelligent. But in a fight, you cannot be up here." Splinter said pointing to his head.
"But I just don't understand how you can fight without thinking?" Donnie asks.
"Look at Mikey." Gio gestures.
Nearby Mikey had his headphones on and was dancing around.
"You must find the space between your thoughts and learn to live there. That's what Michelangelo does." Splinter said.
"True, but Mikey's got a lot more space between his thoughts than I do." Donnie said.
"No arguments there." Gio smirks.
"Yes well, Michelangelo has his challenges too." Splinter said walking away.
"I guess I just wanted to prove I could be as helpful and useful as you are." Donnie said.
"Me? Donnie, you are useful. You really think we would have gotten far without your brains? You're the smartest turtle here. You may not be human like me but you are not useless." Gio said.
"I guess I was jealous that you seemed to be the go to turtle for surface missions." Donnie said.
"Only during the day. The rest of the time I'm on the same level as you guys." Gio said.
"Thanks Gio." Donnie said feeling better.
"Hey guys, I think Red Arrow found something!" April calls out.
Making their way to the kitchen, they saw Red Arrow typing furiously on the laptop.
"Wow you're good." Leo said impressed.
"So surprise, surprise this Rockwell guy was definitely leaning towards the dangerous Scientist thing. His notes indicate he was trying to modify that uh what do you call it?" Red Arrow asks.
"It's called Mutagen." Gio said.
"But I call it Ooze." Mikey said.
"Yeah I'm not." Red Arrow said.
"So what was he trying to do?" Raph asks.
"He thought he could use it to create a neurochemical that would temporarily give someone psychic abilities." Red Arrow said showing them notes.
"You mean that monkey was psychic?" Raph asks.
"It's more like he was reading our emotions. After all, he was only hostile when Donnie was hostile and when Red Arrow attacked." April points out.
"Yeah, well, next time I'll be sure to think friendly thoughts while I'm beating a little sunshine into him." Donnie said.
"A monkey running around New York with that kind of power is dangerous." Gio said.
"For once I agree. Meaning we need to catch it." Red Arrow said grabbing his bow.
"Wait how are we all going to remain in contact?" Raph asks.
"Don't you guys have phones?" Red Arrow asks.
"We have a communicator for the team. That's about it." Gio cringed.
"Not anymore we don't." Donnie said stepping up. "Gentlemen and lady I give you The T-phone!" Reaching around Donnie pulls out a small phone shaped like a turtle shell.
"Dude, I'm in charge of naming stuff. I would've called it The T-phone." Mikey said.
"I did call it the T-Phone." Donnie points out.
"Yeah but I would've called it the T-Phone." Mikey pouts.
"How stupid are you?" Red Arrow asks.
"Don't look under that rock. Trust me on this." Raph said hitting Mikey on the head.
"Look the point is we all have a way to communicate now." Gio said as Donnie handed each one out.
Out on the streets, April was running down the sidewalk of Chinatown.
"Guys, someone just spotted the monkey on Bleecker." April said.
Up on the rooftops, the heroes and turtles were on the move.
"Guys, someone just spotted the monkey on Bleecker." April informs.
"I think I'm on his trail." Raph said running nearby.
"Mikey, the monkey is headed your way." Leo said as it passed by Raph.
"I've got eyes on him. He's headed south on Delancey!" Raph informs.
Up above on a tall building Red Arrow was looking out with an arrow loaded.
"I got a shot waiting and ready." Red Arrow said.
"I'm on Houston! I'll cut him off!" Donnie said only to see the monkey was nowhere to be seen. "Where'd he go?"
Changing direction the Monkey ran off.
"Carapace, he's heading your way!" Leo said.
Jumping off the roof, Carapace lands in front of the monkey.
Leaping at him, Carapace swings his tonfas, but at the last second it ran down an alley.
"This thing is everywhere." Leo said.
"How is it moving like this?" Raph asks.
"It's a Psychic monkey! It's reading your minds!" Red Arrow said making them all wince.
"Crap. He's right that's how he's been one step ahead of us." Carapace realizes.
"So where is he?" Mikey asks.
Looking around for any sign of it, April hears something from the dumpster.
Slowly opening it she sees the monkey inside.
Turning to face her, the monkey sees April offer a hand.
Reaching out the monkey took it allowing her to help it out of the dumpster.
"Whoa. April." Gio said impressed.
Using this chance, Red Arrow fired an arrow and it expanded into a net dropping down on the monkey making it scream unable to escape.
"Whoo! We got him!" Mikey cheers.
"Uh we?" Red Arrow asks joining them.
"Great, we got the monkey. But we're not any closer to finding Dr. Rockwell." Raph said.
As the monkey roared in anger, April looked at it and a horrible realization hit her.
"Actually, we're a lot closer than you think." April said.
"What do you mean?" Donnie asks.
"I think…I think this is Doctor Rockwell!" April declares surprising everyone, even Red Arrow.
Bringing him back to his lab, Rockwell was strapped to his chair screeching as he tried to escape until Falco injected him with something to calm him down.
"There. That should calm him down a little. Poor Rockwell." Falco said.
"So wait you guys are telling me that this Mutagen stuff turned him into that?" Red Arrow realized.
"Yep that's how my brothers ended up like this." Carapace explains.
"This is even more messed up than Aqualad said." Red Arrow said.
"Is there any way to get him back to normal?" April asks.
"I wouldn't even know where to begin. But I'll see if there's a way to give him some semblance of a normal life." Falco promises.
At the turtle base, Gio was helping fill Red Arrow in on all the details with April and Leo nearby to help while Donnie was typing on his laptop and Mikey was playing games on his T-Phone.
"Man, this asteroid field is tough. I just can't beat it." Mikey said.
"So there is an entire alien race hidden throughout this city and is trying to use this mutagen stuff on the people here?" Red Arrow summarizes.
"Yep and in exchange for the team helping us we help them on their missions." Leo nods.
"So how do you like working with them?" Red Arrow asks.
"Well Artemis is a pain in the ass, but the others are pretty cool." Gio said making him snicker.
"Yeah she kinda is." Red Arrow smirks.
"Pizza's here." Raph declares bringing in a box of pepperoni.
Sniffing the air, Mikey began to drool. "Must eat pizza. But can't stop playing. But must eat pizza. But can't stop playing! But must eat pizza!" Slamming his face down into the box Mikey ate a slice with only his face like an animal.
"This guy is an idiot." Red Arrow cringed in disgust.
"Yes, but he's our idiot." Gio deadpans before sliding him a slice. "Here."
Raising an eyebrow, Red Arrow looks at him.
"Hey you helped us you get Pizza. What? Don't tell me you're not a fan of pepperoni?" Gio asks.
"I guess I could use some." Taking a slice, Red Arrow took a bite.
"So what's your deal? I mean if you were friends with the Team why didn't you want to stick with them?" Gio asks.
"It wasn't about them. It was about the League. I had worked my butt off to be considered a hero like them, but all they did was treat us like sidekicks. So if they wouldn't let me be a hero I would become one on my own." Red Arrow explains.
"Whoa, so cool." Mikey said.
"So Red Arrow, you think we can count on you to help us again?" Gio asks.
"Maybe. Emphasis on that. You guys are not exactly the most experienced heroes I've seen." Red Arrow said.
"No, but we can and will get better." Raph declares.
Narrowing his eyes, Red Arrow had yet to be convinced.
"Sorry, we didn't get any closer to finding your Dad, April." Leo apologizes.
"It's okay. Everything we learn about the Kraang is another piece of the puzzle." April said.
"Yeah but Psychic Research? This is one weird puzzle." Gio said as Splinter walked in to grab a slice.
"I am curious, April. How did you know the monkey was really a human?" Splinter asks.
"I don't know. Sometimes I just get a feeling about things." April said.
"A feeling? Interesting." Narrowing his eyes, Splinter looked to April and then briefly to Giovanni before walking away.
"This is interesting." Donnie said.
"Hey Donnie, how come you're not eating?" Leo asks.
"What? I'm not hungry. Something's been bothering me. Falco said that Rockwell was experimenting on a monkey." Donnie points out.
"And?" Leo asks.
"Well, according to these notes, he never had a monkey in his lab. He was just using samples of monkey DNA." Donnie explains.
"But wait. If he never had a monkey then what was the cage for?" Gio said.
"Rockwell wasn't the scientist…he was the experiment." Red Arrow realized.
"Which means Falco put him in that cage and he's been lying this whole time!" Donnie declares.
Hearing this all the heroes narrowed their eyes knowing what they had to do next.
Back at the lab, Falco approached the sleeping Rockwell and injected him with a needle so he could extract something causing him to screech awake.
"Oh, stop struggling, Tyler. You were always so dramatic." Falco said removing the needle and injecting it into him.
Suddenly the door burst open to reveal the turtles, Carapace and Red Arrow with weapons at the ready.
"Alright, Falco! We've had enough of your—" Leo starts.
"Do not say monkeying around." Raph finished.
"Yeah that's lame." Carapace said.
"Even Kid Flash could come up with something funnier." Red Arrow rolls his eyes.
"I wasn't going to say that." Leo defends.
"Yes you were." Falco said turning to face them.
"It's over, Falco! We know it was you who mutated Rockwell!" Carapace declares.
"I used him as a guinea pig." Falco admits.
"Well it didn't work. You turned him into a monkey." Mikey said.
"Okay you need to just stop talking." Red Arrow said annoyed by this.
"The psychic neurochemical I extracted from his mutant brain is changing me. Your minds are opening up to me." Falco explains.
"So this was your plan all along." Donnie realized.
"You used Rockwell to figure out how to give yourself superpowers." Carapace realized.
"Of course. No man can defeat you when you know his every thought." Falco laughs.
"Oh, really? Then you must know I'm gonna smack—" Raph starts.
"Smack the white off my lab coat? How humorous." Falco finishes.
"Lucky guess. Hiyah!" As Raph went on the attack Falco was able to read his mind and dodge his attacks with ease before knocking him into Donnie and Mikey.
Drawing three arrows, Red Arrow fires at him, but Falco dodges them all.
Racing in, Carpace and Leo attack but Falco dodges making them lock weapons.
"Whoa, it's like he's psychic." Mikey said.
"He is Psychic Shell Brain. That's what he just said." Donnie scolds.
"Oh, yeah, I kinda tuned out when he did his whole "I'm evil, blah, blah, blah" thing." Mikey said.
Grabbing Carapace by his shield, Falco kicks him sending him crashing into Red Arrow before taking Leo out.
"How are we going to defeat him if he can read our minds?" Donnie asks.
"No prob. I'm good at this. I just have to fight without thinking! Wait a minute, how do I fight without thinking? Oh, no! Now I'm thinking about not thinking!" Mikey freaks out before Falco bonks him on the head knocking him out.
"A man who can read minds is unstoppable. Once I dispose of you, no one will be able to stand in my way." Falco said.
"We'll see about that." Donnie said drawing his staff.
Swinging the staff, Falco grabs it and throws Donnie making him bang against the wall.
As Red Arrow slowly got up he noticed one of his arrows was laying nearby.
"I really must admire that complex brain of yours. You come up with so many ideas. Too bad I can see them all coming. By the way, do you really think you're as good as the human turtle? Please. He's better than you in every way." Falco mocks.
Growling Donnie remembers what Gio and Splinter told him.
"I can do this. Just have to fight without thinking. No thinking. No thinking. Don't think. Just do." Donnie said closing his eyes.
"Hey Doc!" Red Arrow fires an arrow but Falco caught it with ease.
"I told you it wouldn't work." Falco smirks.
"You sure about that?" Red Arrow smirks.
Suddenly the arrow glowed emitting electricity and zapping Falco.
Using this opening Donnie moves in. Falco tries to read his mind but for some reason, he couldn't allowing Donnie to deliver a series of powerful strikes knocking Falco into the broken cage where he used to keep Rockwell.
"Hmm not bad." Red Arrow said as they all got up.
"Thanks by the way how did he not see that trick arrow coming?" Donnie asks.
"Because I didn't know which Trick Arrow it was. I just grabbed the first one I saw." Red Arrow said.
"Ha! Nice one." Mikey said holding the container of ooze.
"Now that we have the ooze, let's see what Falco knows about the Kraang." Donnie said.
But to their surprise Falco had already disappeared.
"He's gone." Carapace gasps.
"What do we do about him?" Mikey asks seeing Rockwell was still chained up.
Walking over, Donnie and Carapace freed him from the chair.
Slowly making his way to the window, Rockwell turns to them.
"I'm no psychic but I think he's trying to tell us thanks." Donnie said.
Nodding Rockwell made his way out the window.
"Um, if he reacts to angry thoughts, is New York city really the best place for him?" Raph asks.
Pausing all of them suddenly heard a crashing noise.
"Hey monkey! Get out of the—" Before the man could finish they heard loud screeching.
"I'm sure he's fine." Leo said.
"You guys are weird and this problem you have is even weirder." Red Arrow said.
"No kidding. That's why we need the Team's help. We need all the help we can get." Carapace said.
"Well then…count me in." Red Arrow smiles surprising them.
"Wait seriously?" Leo asks.
"You want to help us?" Raph asks.
"Look it's pretty clear that this mutagen and Kraang stuff is dangerous meaning if we can't get rid of it right away then we need to make sure it stays in the city. I got my own heroing to do, but I'll stop by every now and again to give you guys a hand." Red Arrow said.
"Thanks Red." Donnie said.
"Sweet. So Red Arrow now that you're one of us can I borrow an arrow or two? I promise I won't break them?" Mikey asks breaking one of his arrows right then and there causing a mini explosion and smoke to appear in his face.
"Can I hit him?" Red Arrow asks.
"Go nuts." Raph smirks.
Like music to his ears Red Arrow grabs his bow by the bottom and holds it up like a baseball bat.
"Wait! Wait! I'm sorry! I'll—" Before Mikey could finish a loud whacking noise echoed from the lab.
At the turtle base, April was sitting with Master Splinter.
"April, it seems you have a rare gift, a sensitivity I have trained my entire life to develop." Splinter points out.
"Don't worry you'll get it." April assures.
"I have. It just took me a long time." Splinter clarifies.
"That's nothing to be ashamed of." April said making him groan.
"What I am trying to say is that I would like to train you to be a Kunoichi, a female ninja." Splinter said.
"Wow! That's quite an honor. If I do this, does that mean I can kick everybody's butt?" April asks eagerly.
"We don't believe in using our abilities that way." Splinter said almost immediately.
"Oh yeah me neither…but I could right?" April asks.
"Yes. But I warn you. It will be the hardest thing you've ever done. It will drain you mentally, physically, and spiritually." Splinter warns.
"Well, can't be worse than high school." April assumes.
"Then I hope for your sake you don't end up in the Hashi anytime soon." Splinter said.
"The what?" April asks not liking the sound of that.
