Chapter 12: Bereft
Hey everyone I'm back with a new chapter. Sorry about the wait. A lot of drama with a Spanish Guest Reviewer who won't stop annoying me to delete this story and if that Spanish Guest Review is still reading this too bad. I am not getting rid of this story no matter how many times you ask and I don't care if you don't like it. So do me and everyone else a favor and deal with it! You may think it's bad but I have plenty of people who don't. Over 250 followers and favorites to be exact! You can keep trying to talk me into it but it's never gonna happen. We find ourselves in the desert of Bialya at nighttime as Miss Martian was regaining consciousness.
Speaking in her foreign language it took a while before she knew where she was.
"Hello Megan I'm on Earth. But how did I get to Earth? And why am I wearing this costume? And why does my head hurt? Is this all a dream?" As she made her way through the sand a figure jumped in and landed in a dune nearby.
Looking up she saw Superboy glaring at her with an enraged look when Miss Martian noticed the logo on his shirt.
"Wait, I've seen that symbol. Are you Superman?" She asks curious.
Roaring in anger, Superman rips the logo off his shirt before attacking her.
Yelping Miss Martian took to the skies narrowly dodging his attacks.
Superboy leaps at her but at the last second Miss Martian uses her telepathy to repel him.
As they both landed in the sand, Superboy looks at her and attacked but at the last second two figures charged in and rammed into him.
"Hey! Back off!" Gasping Miss Martian saw Raphael and Leonardo glaring Superboy down.
Drawing their sai and katana they point them at him. "I don't know who you are and where we are but you are gonna get it!"
"Where are we?! What did you do with New York?" Leo asks.
However instead of answering Superboy just turned and leaped away.
"Yeah you better run!" Raph yells.
"What do you mean? I was gonna get some answers from him. Now we have no idea where we are and how to get home." Leo said.
"I bet you this is Mikey's fault. I know it." Raph said before turning to Miss Martian.
'Not a dream. This is a nightmare.' Miss Martian gulps as they approached her with weapons in their hands.
"So…you gonna be helpful or are we gonna have to hit you too?" Raph asks.
The next morning, we see Robin walking through the desert completely worn out but his thoughts were interrupted by the sound of a car.
Looking ahead, he saw soldiers in a jeep racing across the sand.
Quickly hiding behind some rocks he examines the situation.
"Those are Bialyan Republican Army uniforms," Robin said before activating his holo map. "But what are Bialyans doing in, uh…Bialya? Okay, better question: What am I doing in Bialya?" Robin said before noticing the date. "In September? What happened to March? Better radio Batman."
However just as he was about to make contact a memory came back to him.
"Maintain radio silence at all times." Batman's words echoed.
"Or not," Robin said stopping himself.
Jumping down onto some rocks he noticed the Super logo from Superboy's shirt.
"What in the?" Robin said about to grab it when he stepped on something.
"Ow! Hey watch where you're stepping!" A voice yells.
"Oh man sorry, I uh—" Pausing Robin saw he had stepped bumped against a tired Donnie who was laying against the rocks for shade. "Uh what are you?"
"What you've never seen a mutant talking turtle before?" Donnie asks.
"Mutant yes, turtle no. What's a turtle doing all the way in Bialya?" Robin asks helping him up.
"Bialya? Wait that can't be right. I should be in New York." Donnie said
"Hate to break it to you but that's on the other side of the ocean." Robin said.
"What? Oh no. This is not good. How did I even get here? I must be suffering from a temporary memory loss. Possibly due to heatstroke from the desert sun." Donnie assumes.
"Weird. I'm suffering from that too." Robin said.
Pausing Robin examined Donnie and noticed his staff.
"Know how to use that?" Robin points.
"Yeah I do." Donnie said spinning it around and making a cool pose. "How do you like me now?"
"Okay not bad. You can help me out in case we run into trouble. Do that and I'll drop you off back home. Come on." Robin said as the two of them took off.
"Hey don't suppose you have any water on you by any chance?" Donnie asks.
Meanwhile, across the desert in an abandoned hut by a hill, we see Artemis laying on the floor unconscious.
"Hey you okay? Wakie, wakie sleepy head." A male voice said.
Slowly opening her eyes she saw Carapace looking down at her. "Oh good you're alive."
Jumping back startled, Artemis backs up to the wall.
"Hey it's okay. I don't want to hurt you. I'm friendly. I found you outside and I brought you in here." Carapace assures.
"Oh thank you." Artemis paused.
"Who the heck are you? Some kind of turtle hero?" Artemis asks.
"I could say the same for you. What kind of outfit is that? You into comics or something?" Carapace asks gesturing to her outfit.
"Who put me in this?!" Artemis asks.
"Well, she's definitely got some issues." Carapace mumbles. "Calm down don't worry about it. Uh, my name is Giovanni; can you help me? I'm looking for my brothers." Carapace said before noticing her bow. "Hey, you know how to use that?"
"Yeah my dad taught me." Artemis said before realizing something. "Dad. He must have done this. Another one of his stupid tests."
"Oof, my father gives me training tests all the time. What kind of test do you think this is?" Carapace asks.
"He probably wants me to kill you." Artemis declares.
"Wait what?!" Carapace panics when suddenly they heard a high-pitched whistle.
Grabbing her arm, Carapace yanks her out of the building just a missile came down and sent them flying into the sand.
From the bottom of the hill a jeep and two tanks were coming towards them.
"What the heck?" Carapace said confused.
Drawing her arrow, Artemis fires at the jeep sending them flying.
"Whoa. You're amazing." Carapace said in awe.
Pausing Artemis smiles softly. No one has ever complimented her skills before.
However, as the tanks advanced Carapace knew they had to escape.
Throwing his shield to the ground he grabbed Artemis.
"Hey what are you doing?!" Artemis asks.
"Saving our lives." Hopping onto his shield they raced down the sandy slope and away from the tanks. "So what's this about you wanting to kill me?"
Flying through the air Miss Martian was followed by Leo and Raph.
"So wait you're an alien? Like from outer space?" Leo asks.
'Technically just Mars, but I can't believe I'm actually on Earth. I've wanted this for so long. Even if it's not like I see on TV.' Miss Martian admits talking into their minds.
'Okay this feels weird. You talking in our minds.' Leo admits.
'Sorry but I find it helps. So neither one of you can remember how you got here?' Miss Martian asks but they just shook their heads.
Floating down Miss Martian sits in a clearing to mediate.
Give me a minute guys. I want to try something.' Miss Martian as her eyes glowed.
At first she sees the memory of Superboy attacking them, but then she sees another memory.
In it Superboy was next to a machine.
"Good idea. Go." Aqulad warns.
"Be careful." Superboy said looking at her.
But in the next memory, they were back at Mount Justice and Miss Martian was holding a tray of cookies.
"Careful Superboy they're hot." Miss Martian warns as Kid Flash swipes one.
"Not as hot as you babe." Kid Flash flirts.
"Thanks Wally that's uh sweet." Miss Martian said.
"Not as sweet as you sugar." Kid Flash winks.
"Oh grow up." Artemis said as she and Carapace bonked him on the head.
"Seriously not every word out of your mouth needs to be a pickup line." Carapace said.
As they both reached out for the same cookie their hands touched causing them to pause and glance at each other.
Quickly they grabbed a different one when Robin and Mikey came in.
"Sweet cookies!" Mikey cheers running over and grabbing 3.
"Hey save some for the rest of us." Donnie said as he, Leo and Raph came in.
"Team Report to the Mission Room." Batman said over radio.
Flashback End:
Zooming out Miss Martian smiles.
"I have a team. I mean we're a team. You two are my teammates and so was that guy from earlier." Miss Martian said.
"Wait what?" Leo said.
"Yeah are you sure about that? We can't even leave the sewer. The only one allowed to leave them is our brother." Raph said.
"Giovanni." Miss Martian declares. "You have 3 brothers. One is human and the other two are turtles. I saw one with a purple headband and a missing tooth and the other one was orange and uh he had a lot of energy." She cringed.
"Mikey." Both said instantly.
"I think we're all friends. Listen we need to find everyone now." Miss Martian said before using her telepathy. 'Hello! Team?!"
'They must be out of range. We better hurry. If Mikey's here he's definitely done something stupid by now.' Raph thought.
'We gotta move.' Leo agrees.
Grabbing them both, Miss Martian took to the skies with them flying alongside her.
Near a canyon area, Carapace and Artemis came to a stop.
"Well I think we lost them." Carapace pants.
"Thanks for the save back there but why did you help me? I thought I had to kill you." Artemis said.
"Just how I was raised. Master Splinter always trained me to help those who need it. Even pretty girls with issues." Carapace smirks making her giggle.
"Oh like you're one to talk." Artemis said playfully shoving him.
"So you got a name?" Carapace asks.
"It's Artemis." She smiles.
"Well Artemis if I had to be stuck with anyone in the middle of the desert I'm glad I'm stuck with you." Carapace said.
"Yeah you're not too bad yourself. Hopefully, I won't have to kill you." Artemis said.
"I should warn you." Grabbing her, Carapace pins her to the wall with a tonfa pointed at her. "I don't go down without a fight." He smirks.
"What a coincidence..." Countering him, Artemis knocks the tonfa out of his arms and pins him to the wall. "Neither do I." She smirks.
As the two of them looked into each other's eyes it was like everything else around them was a blur.
"Whoa are you two about to make out?" A male voice asks.
Yelping startled the two of them let go and see Kid Flash in his black outfit.
"Uh what? No I-I mean.." Both stuttered with blushes on their faces.
"Sorry guess I came at a bad time." Kid Flash chuckles. "I'm Kid Flash by the way.
"I've seen Kid Flash on the news. He doesn't wear black." Artemis points.
"Yeah a little unclear on this myself." He admits.
"So what are you doing all the way out here?" Carapace asks.
"Also unclear. But I think I've been out here for more than 24 hours. Otherwise, my cupboards wouldn't be empty." Kid Flash said looking at the storage area he keeps his snacks handy.
"Can this day get any weirder?" Carapace asks.
As if on cue, a shirtless Superboy crashes in between them surprising them.
Before Kid Flash could even react Superboy swings his arm smacking him into the rocks.
"Does that answer your question?" Artemis asks drawing her bow.
"Cover me!" Carapace said as Superboy attacks them.
Swinging his tonfas at him, Carapace nails Superboy in the face but he seemed unfazed.
"What in the?" Before he could react Superboy smacks Carapace knocking him into the sand.
Gasping Artemis sees Superboy set his sights on her.
Firing multiple arrows to try and slow him down they all explode on contact but none of them seemed to hurt him.
Lunging forward to grab her, Artemis rolls out of the way.
Roaring in anger, Superboy was suddenly hit by a missile causing an explosion.
In the distance, Miss Martian cringed hearing Superboy's screams.
'Hey you okay?' Raph asks.
'I heard him. Superboy.' Miss Martian said.
'Where is he?' Leo asks looking around before spotting smoke in the distance.
'I'm gonna guess over there.' Raph points.
Back at the smokey location, Superboy saw two tanks approaching, and needless to say he was angry.
Leaping at the tanks he took on all fire the soldiers threw at him and started tearing them apart.
"Whose side is he on?" Artemis asks as Carapace and Kid Flash managed to get up.
"I don't know but I don't want to stick around to find out." Kid Flash said.
"Let's get outta here." Carapace agrees.
As they ran from the battle they saw two small planes flying past them.
"I got this." Artemis said drawing an arrow.
'Don't worry! I'm almost there!' Miss Martian said in their minds causing Artemis to miss.
"Did you just hear a girl talking in your head?" Artemis asks.
"Girls are always on my mind. But they're not usually talking." Kid Flash said.
"What the heck is going on?" Carapace asks when suddenly Miss Martian flew in.
Gaining on the planes, Miss Martian uses her telepathy to make them smash into each other and explode.
"Who the heck is that?" Carapace asks.
"Don't worry she's on our side." Leo calls out making Carapace smile.
"Aw man did we miss the butt-kicking?" Raph asks.
"Whoa giant turtles?" Kid Flash said surprised.
"Leo! Raph!" Carapace smiles running over and hugging his brothers.
"Wait these are your brothers?" Artemis raises an eyebrow.
"Oh man you have no idea how crazy today has been." Raph said.
"Gio, aliens are real." Leo said.
"We've been traveling with one all over the desert looking for you guys." Raph said as Miss Martian floated down.
"Whoa." Carapace said not expecting this.
"Well, J'onn, the costume looks familiar but I'm not sure the new bod screams Manhunter." Kid Flash jokes.
"You know my Uncle J'onn?" She said before remembering. "Hello, Megan, of course, you do. You're Kid Flash. Wally. And you're Artemis. And your Carapace. Giovanni."
"Your hero name is Carapace?" Artemis raised an eyebrow.
"Wait Martian Manhunter is your uncle? Is that how you know my name? And who are they?" Kid Flash asks.
"It's okay. We're teammates, friends. I made you cookies." Miss Martian said.
"Cookies?" Artemis raised an eyebrow.
"I've never seen you before in my life." Carapace said.
"She may sound weird but she seems to know what she's talking about." Leo said.
"Ugh you all lost your memories too. Come on. I'll fill you in as we go. Robin, Superboy and the rest of the Turtles need our help." Miss Martian said.
"Man I hope they're okay." Carapace said as they followed her.
Meanwhile, with Superboy, he was being restrained by the Bialyan soldiers as a figure came out of a van and approached them.
Little did they know Mikey was watching them from behind some rocks.
"Uh oh. That's not good." Turning around he saw Aqualad laying down unconscious.
Picking him up, Mikey put Aqualad against the rocks.
"Hang tight Aqualad I'll be right back. Gotta go help our teammate." Mikey said before sneaking off.
Pulling against the ropes, Superboy was making the soldiers struggle to subdue him.
"You must control his mind." A soldier said as the hooded figure approached them.
Lifting his head up we see the figure had pale white skin and red lines on each of his cheeks. This was Psimon.
"Not much of a mind in there." Psimon said looking at Superboy. "Be still."
Holding out his hand Superboy suddenly fell under a trance before passing out.
"Take him back to base." Psimon orders as the soldiers grab him.
"Booyakasha!" Swinging in Mikey whacks two soldiers and picks up Superboy. "Hey yo!"
"What in the?" Psimon said surprised.
"Hang tight Superboy I'm gonna get you out of here!" Mikey said getting his nunchucks out.
"Sleep!" Psimon orders trying to control Mikey's mind but he kept going. "What?!"
Swinging his weapon Mikey hits Psimon in the gut making him stagger.
"Wait why don't they work on you?" Psimon asks confused. "Stop him!"
As the soldiers took out their weapons they opened fire.
Yelping Mikey used Superboy as a human shield.
"Good thing you're bulletproof." Mikey said lifting him up and charging through the bullet storm. "Sorry. Sorry. Sorry. Sorry. Sorry."
Making it all the way over Mikey went on the attack whacking soldiers away.
"Oh yeah! No one messes with me! How do you like me now?!" Mikey cheers when suddenly one soldier whacks him on the head causing him to pass out in the sand.
Grabbing them both, the two heroes were loaded in the vans before being driven away leaving Aqualad all on his own.
That night we see Donnie and Robin making their way through the dunes following Robin's map.
"I wish I could remember why I put a GPS marker out here." Robin said.
"Maybe that's why." Donnie said pointing to a machine just ahead of them.
Slowly ducking down both made sure the coast was clear before sliding down to it.
Once they did soldiers emerged out of the sand surprising them.
"Her Majesty wants them alive." One said in their language.
Grabbing a smoke bomb Robin throws it to the ground creating a smokescreen.
Using the smoke as cover, Donnie whacks the soldiers with his bo staff while Robin threw his discs at them to knock their weapons out of their hands.
Charging in Robin kicks a soldier in the face and flips over him landing next to Donnie.
"Enough! Open fire!" The soldier said changing his mind.
They were about to fire when something rushed in and swiped their guns.
"I'll take that! Thanks!" Kid Flash said holding all the guns.
Sliding across the sand on his shield, Carapace leaps in and smashed down on a soldier knocking him out.
"Finally! Something to hit!" Dropping in Raph and Leo swung their weapons tacking out soldiers.
As one picked up their gun an invisible force sent him flying back.
Looking up Robin saw Miss Martian become visible again.
Swinging his tonfas, Carapace whacks a soldier to the ground allowing Kid Flash to grab him by the legs and throw him into the others.
When the last soldier tried to make a run for it Artemis fires an arrow tying him up.
"Guys. Oh man am I happy to see you." Donnie said hugging his brothers.
"And that just leaves Mikey." Leo said.
"Called it." Raph said.
"KF man it's good to see a familiar face." Robin said walking over.
"Hey Rob. Memory loss?" He asks.
"Six months. Let's hog-tie these creeps and compare notes." Robin suggests.
Once all the soldiers were tied up, they started talking.
"So we're all a team?" Robin asks.
"The 8 of us plus Superboy and their brother Michelangelo." Miss Martian corrects.
"Then this must be his." Robin said grabbing the remains of the shirt he found.
"Yes did you see him?" Miss Martian asks.
"Wait was he muscular and had black hair?" Carapace asks.
"Yes that's him." Miss Martian nods.
"We ran into him." Artemis said.
"Some teammate. Feral boy attacked us." Kid Flash said.
"He didn't know who we are. I don't know who we are." Artemis said.
"I remember Batman ordering radio silence. Our team must work for him." Robin recalls.
"Who the heck is Batman?" Carpace asks.
"Yeah we only take orders from Master Splinter." Leo said.
"How do you know we don't work for my mentor?" Kid Flash pokes his logo and his suit turns yellow. "Whoa, this is so cool." He said touching it over and over again.
Curious Carapace, Robin and Artemis pocked their outfits wondering if they could do that.
"You guys are by the far the weirdest dressed people we've ever met." Leo said.
"We need our memories because I can't figure out any of this." Donnie said.
Seeing how much they were struggling Miss Martian knew what she had to do.
'To help Superboy.' Miss Martian thought using her powers.
Suddenly all of them were transported into a room full of memories and panels showing them.
"What is this place?" Carapace asks.
"I've brought you into my mind to share what I've remembered so far, but I need your help. Together, our broken memories can form a whole if you open your minds to mine." Miss Martian explains.
"You wanna paw through our private thoughts?" Artemis raised an eyebrow.
"I have no wish to intrude but…" Miss Martian starts.
"You need to hack our minds to grok what happened to us. Go." Robin finishes for her.
"My brain's all yours. Try not to let its brilliance overwhelm you." Kid Flash flirts.
"Or underwhelm you. Hey, why isn't anyone ever just whelmed?" Robin asks.
"If it helps us find Mikey go for it." Leo said.
"Just be careful don't go looking too deep." Donnie said.
As Artemis remaned unsure, Carapace walks over and takes her hand to calm her down.
"Last six months only. And only what you need." Artemis said.
Nodding Miss Martian got to work and entered their minds.
Flashback:
With all their memories they were able to see what happened.
"The Watchtower detected an immense power surge in the Bialyan desert. Spectral analysis revealed elements non-terrestrial in origin. Find out what happened at that site and what landed there. Bialya is a rogue state ruled by Queen Bee and not a member of the league's U.N. Charter. All communications are subject to interception. Maintain radio silence at all times. You'll land in Qurac, on Bialya's border, two klicks from the hot zone." Batman explains.
Next, we found ourselves at the spot where Superboy was carrying the machine.
"All clear." Robin said as we saw the next memory of them spying on them.
"Look at all of them." Leo said.
"The Biyalans control this site." Artemis said.
"Set up here." Aqualad said as Superboy put the device down revealing it to be part of a computer.
"We'll be up in no time." Donnie said as he, Robin and Kid Flash got to work.
"Jackpot. This site's lousy with Zeta-Beam radiation." Kid Flash said.
"Detecting non-terrestrial trace elements from the tent." Robin said.
"Uh what?" Mikey asks.
"Speak in normal words." Raph said.
"There's something in there." Robin said.
"I'll check it out in camouflage mode." Miss Martian suggests.
"Good idea. Go, be careful and maintain telepathic contact." Aqualad instructs.
'I will Aqualad.' Miss Martian thought snapping them out of it.
Flashback end.
"Aqualad!" All of them gasped.
"What happened next?" Carapace asks.
"I don't know, that's the last thing I…I mean we remember." Miss Martian said.
Looking at each other Carapace and Artemis were still holding hands. Quickly letting go they looked in opposite directions.
"Uh, we landed 24 hours ago. If Kaldur's been wandering the desert that long, that's not good for a guy with gills." Kid Flash said.
"And what about Mikey?" Leo asks.
"I don't know but hopefully he's okay." Miss Martian said.
"Now that I know to look for him." Robin said activating his tech. "He's close but he's not moving."
"Come on we need to hurry." Miss Martian said as they all ran to Aqualand's location.
Just as Carapace was about to follow, he felt a pain in his head.
Cringing and holding his head, Carapace's eyes glowed green allowing him to see something.
We see two figures. One was a woman with long brown hair in a leather padded ninja outfit with green highlights and the other was a man with short black hair and his outfit was dark blue with light green highlights. But along his arms were runes that glowed brightly.
"This won't hold for long. You need to run now!" The man said.
"What no?!" A young Gio said.
"Son. You have to hurry! Before it's too late!" The man said.
"Not without you!" Young Gio asks.
"Don't look at us. Just turn around and keep going! Don't stop no matter what! We'll try to meet you on the other side." The woman said turning him around. "I love you so much." She whispers.
As he turned around, we see a bright light behind him but before he could process more Gio snapped out of it.
Opening his eyes Carapace panted heavily.
"Th-They called me son…does that mean those were…" He starts.
"Hey Carapace come on! We gotta move!" Kid Flash calls out.
Slowly snapping out of it, Carapace ran after them with the memory fresh in his mind.
At the Biyalan base camp, Superboy and Mikey strapped to one corner of the tent while a mysterious orb was undergoing tests nearby.
As Psimon was examining Mikey, Superboy was being electrocuted.
"Hey leave him alone!" Mikey yells while Psimon scoffs in frustration.
"The loud one is annoying. Have you gotten control of his brain yet?" A soldier asks.
"I can't even find his brain. This…this thing is somehow impervious to my powers." Psimon said.
"Ha what do you know? All those times Raph called me brainless he was speaking the truth. You can't mess with my mind because there's nothing on my mind. Ever!" Mikey laughs.
Growling Psimon grabs his head in frustration.
"Once we're done getting what we need from the other two. I want you to take this thing out into the desert and shoot him." Psimon orders.
"Uh hey no need to rush fellas. I mean I'm sure if you keep trying you'll find it sooner or later." Mikey gulps not liking the idea of dying.
Meanwhile, with the others, they had managed to find Aqualand asleep in the desert.
"I can't restore his memories in this condition." Miss Martian said.
"He needs immediate rehydration. Call the Bioship." Robin suggests.
"It's out of range, but you can get him there fast." Miss Martian said looking at Kid Flash.
"He's too heavy and I'm too low on fuel." Kid Flash said.
"Why don't you just levitate him like you did with us?" Leo suggests.
"I can't. I have to find Superboy. Six months ago, he didn't exist. He has no memories, just animal impulse. I'm the only one who can help him." Miss Martian said.
"We've seen him in action. I think he can manage for a little longer. Besides we need to find Mikey too." Raph reminds.
"I'm sorry but Aqualad needs this more." Carapace agrees.
Miss Martian was about to object when her powers picked up Superboy's screams making her gasp.
"Superboy's in danger!" She said before taking off.
"M'Gann wait!" Artemis calls out.
"We still don't know what erased our memories! It could happen again!" Donnie yells but she was long gone.
Flying back to the camp, Miss Martian turned invisible before making her way inside.
"Well, someone's certainly a glutton for punishment." Psimon said spotting her. "Psimon says…" Taking off his hood we see Psimon's brain was visible. 'Forget.'
Feeling the blast of his mental attack Miss Martian was inside her own mind where various locations she had been to were floating around her.
"That's it. Forget. Just like before." Psimon said.
"Before?" Miss Martian said before remembering what happened last time.
Flashback:
As Miss Martian snuck into the tent they see they were working on the sphere.
'Okay I'm in.' Miss Martian thought.
'Good but tread carefully. Camouflage is not Invisible.' Aqualand warns.
Making her way toward the Sphere, Miss Martian examines it.
'They're testing something. But it's alive. In pain. Hello? Can you hear me?' She asks.
'I can.' Psimon thought blowing her cover. 'And an open mind is a dangerous thing.'
'Someone's hacked our link.' Miss Martian gasps.
'Psimon can't see you. Psimon can't catch you. But Psimon can make you all forget!' Psimon declares hitting the team with it.
Screaming in pain everyone but Mikey was holding their heads and wandering off.
"Hey guys what's going on? What's wrong?" Mikey asks.
Looking around Mikey tried snapping them out of it but none of them listened.
As Aqualad wandered off he misstepped and slid down a hill.
"Aqualad!" Mikey said running after him.
Flashback End:
As Miss Martian saw her memories begin to disappear she growled refusing to be beaten this easily.
"No. I won't let it happen again." She said pushing back against it.
'Not really your call little girl.' Psimon thought as a giant version of his head appeared in her mind.
Firing a red beam from his brain Psimon blasts Miss Martian sending her flying backwards.
Just on the outskirts of the camp, we see Raph and Leo carrying Aqualad by an arm.
"How much longer until we get there?" Raph asks.
"We're almost there just hang on." Kid Flash said.
As Robin looked at his tracker he heard a noise.
"Quick this way." Robin said as they ran behind some rocks for cover.
Panting heavily Aqualad began speaking in Atlantean.
"Uh guys. Aqualad is talking crazy now." Carapace said.
"Shh. Kaldur quiet." Artemis shushes.
"We can't risk a firefight with Aqualad KO'd like this." Robin asks.
"It's not just him. I'm way out of juice." Kid Flash said.
"What do you expect? We've all been running around a hot desert with no food of water. We're all weak from exhaustion dehydration and heat stroke." Donnie said.
"And I'm almost out of arrows." Artemis said when they noticed Robin was already gone.
"Man Robin's stealth skills are amazing." Leo said.
"I forgot how much I hate it when he does the ninja thing." Kid Flash said.
"Hey by the way you never said why your dad would want me dead." Carapace recalls.
"I got confused by, uh, some old movie I saw the other night about a ninja girl whose ninja dad ordered her to kill her ninja boyfriend because he was from a rival ninja clan." Artemis said coming up with a story.
"So I'm the Ninja boyfriend huh?" Carapace smirks.
"Hey amnesia remember? Completely forgot how much of a pain you are." Artemis reminds.
"Oh like you're such a perfect little angel." Carapace mocks.
"Oof what happened with them?" Raph asks.
"They were so close to making out when I showed up." Kid Flash said.
"No freaking way." Leo said as Raph and Donnie snicked.
"Will you all shut up?" Artemis and Carapace said at the same time.
"Yeesh will you two get a room." Robin said appearing back next to them.
"Where did you run off to?" Kid Flash asks.
"Breaking Radio silence." Robin smirks as a dozen Biyalan soldiers ran in the opposite direction following a recording of Robin's laughter.
But when they arrived they saw Robin's record was lined with several explosives.
Seconds later a huge explosion went off.
"That's our cue! Move!" Robin said as they grabbed Aqualad and moved as fast as they could.
Inside Miss Martian's mind, Miss Martian was struggling to push back against Psimon's powers.
'You have potential but you're too raw, too not at all in my league.' Appearing in normal size, Psimon blasts Miss Martian.
Zooming out we see Psimon glaring intensely at Superboy still in his battle with Miss Martian.
"Mr. Psimon are you alright?" A scientist asks.
As Superboy slowly regained consciousness so did the Sphere.
Spinning quickly the sphere broke out of its cage and charged at Superboy and Mikey smashing into their restraints and freeing them.
"Oh yeah that's what I'm talking about." Mikey said grabbing his nunchaku.
Swinging them Mikey takes out all the scientists.
As Superboy set his sights on Mikey, Miss Martian grabs him and pulls him into her mind.
"You came." She grins.
"You sound so relieved. Is that mindless creature supposed to save your mind?" Psimon mocks.
"No. I save his." Grabbing his face Miss Martian restores all of Superboy's memories including all the ones of them.
Looking at her Superboy smiles happy to see her.
"Kick his butt." Superboy grins before disappearing.
"Yes by all means. Kick my Psychic butt." Psimon laughs before the two of them continue their fight.
Inside the tent, Superboy now back to normal looks around to see Sphere charge into some soldiers knocking them to the ground.
Looking at him Sphere beeps at him.
"Uh thanks." Superboy said confused.
"Hey look who's back to normal." Mikey said as more soldiers came in.
"Now there's a face I know." Superboy grins. "M'Gann's got her own fight. We need to make sure no bullets get her."
"On it." Mikey said as they went on the attack.
Inside her mind, the fight between her and Psimon was getting intense.
Firing multiple blasts at him, Psimon made a barrier to repel them before counter-attacking.
Making her own shield, Miss Marian hurls four blasts that shot around Psimon's attack.
Using his powers to repel it, Psimon left himself wide open as Miss Martian flew in and punched him in the face.
Recovering Psimon grew in size before firing a blast from his brain.
Acting quickly Miss Martian made multiple copies of herself to evade the attack and surround him.
With each of them firing an attack Psimon cringed in pain before releasing a powerful tornado blowing all but the original Miss Martian away.
However, in the real world, Psimon's tornado attack was triggered there as well.
As the scientists, equipment, and Sphere were being sucked into it Mikey struggled to hang onto something.
Throwing his kusarigama into the ground Mikey held on for dear life.
"Superboy! Help her!" Mikey yells.
Nodding in agreement Superboy jumps through the eye of the storm and lands next to her.
"M'Gann!" Grabbing her hand Superboy joins her as Psimon was pushing her back.
"He's too strong." She said.
"You're strong. And I'm stubborn. Together." Superboy suggests.
"Together." Miss Martian agrees.
As a bright light engulfs the area around them both glared Psimon down.
"Get out of my head!" Miss Martian roars.
Both of them combine their powers to release a devastating blast that drove Psimon out of M'Gann's mind and sends Psimon away in his own storm attack.
With the tent and equipment destroyed Miss Martian was in Superboy's arms completely worn out.
As the two of them gazed into each other's eyes. They were about to lean in when Mikey pulled himself out of the sand.
"Hey guys!" Mikey calls out interrupting them as Sphere landed nearby. "I don't know what that was all about but check this out!" Mikey said gesturing to Sphere following him.
"Can I keep it?" Superboy asks.
"I second that." Mikey said eagerly.
On the Bioship, Aqualad was hooked up to an IV of salt water while everyone else was resting.
'Hey, everybody, I've got Superboy. He's back to normal, and we're on our way.' Miss Martian said waking Aqualad up.
"Who are you? How did you get inside my head?" Aqualad asks.
'Hello, Megan. Aqualad's memories. I knew I forgot something.' She thought.
'Wait what about Mikey? What about his memories?' Donnie asks.
'Never lost them dudes!' Mikey calls out.
'Turns out Mikey has a few surprises.' Miss Martian giggles.
'So you knew what happened this whole time and you never thought to find us?' Donnie thought narrowing his eyes.
'What the heck were you doing while we were trekking through the desert like idiots?'Raph asks.
'So I forgot. Someone had to keep an eye on Aqualad.' Mikey said.
"Oh, man, I forgot something too. I didn't get a souvenir from the mission." Kid Flash recalls.
'Don't worry. I got the souvenir thing covered.' Miss Martian thought as Sphere followed after them.
As they all were happy to have completed the mission Leo noticed Gio take off his mask and look out the window but for some reason he wasn't smiling.
"Hey why so down? We did it. We got our memories back and we got the target and Mikey back." Leo asks.
"Leo after M'Gann looked into our memories something happened to me." Gio said.
"What do you mean? We all saw the same memories." Leo asks confused.
"No. I saw a new one. It's like by looking inside my head M'Gann unlocked an old memory. One I didn't even know I had. I don't know how but she did. And now…I just can't believe it." Gio said.
"What did you see exactly?" Leo asks.
"Leo…I saw my parents." Gio declares making Leo's eyes widen in disbelief.
Meanwhile in an unknown location, Psimon was standing before several white images on screens.
"The Martian girl escaped with the Sphere, the Superboy and a very strange creature." Psimon explains.
"That hardly matters. Is the successful test on our new partner's delivery system." A female voice said.
On one screen we a recording of Sphere being delivered through an unknown portal.
"More tech will come. Tech that will put the Sphere and perhaps even the Superboy, to shame." The voice said making Psimon grin evilly.
