Chapter 11

It had been 88 days since Tony had returned home and he was still rather busy with his creation that he had been working on.

Abigail had been in and out of the house doing work and checking on Tony when she had a chance to do so. Abigail slowly walked into his workshop and saw that Tony finally had the entire suit made. She blinked a few times as he looked like a crazy science experiment gone wrong.

Tony fired up his boots, and began to hover. He suddenly fired his gloves to stabilize weaving and tilting. He surfed mid-air trying to maintain balance, slowly getting the hang of it. Then he ventured forward, moving along the expanse of the lab. Dodging pieces of equipment, his car collection, a few near misses but he maintained control. Debris and objects were blown from the tables from the propulsive force. "Nothing to it…" He cut the propulsion and landed.

Abigail crossed her arms as she watched him with a small smile on her face.

"All right. Let's get to work." Tony said to Jarvis and Abigail.

Abigail let out a soft chuckle. "You look like a mad science project with all those wires." She mused as she came closer to him. "But I have to say this is a wonderful piece that you have been working on."

Tony grinned a cheeky smile as he looked at his younger sister.

One week later Abigail watched Tony walk out shrouded in shadow slowly revealing his new suit. Abigail bit her lip as she watched him.

Aileron and air brakes popped up as Tony moved his head and arms, stretching, getting used to the new feel of his body.

"Very nice Tony." Abigail said softly, looking on in awe.

"Standby for calibration." Tony said as he fired the boots and gauntlets up and raised to the air. "Whoa-" He lost his balance and fell back onto the hood of his Saleen, crushing it. Tony killed the alarm with a blast.

Abigail winced a little as she shook her head lightly. Of course Tony would ruin one of his own cars trying to teach himself how to fly. Abigail carefully put the earpiece in so she could hear everything that Tony and Jarvis were saying.

"We should take this outside." Tony stated as he got to his feet.

"I must strongly caution against that. There are terabytes of calculations still needed -"

"We'll do them in-flight." Tony said, cutting Jarvis off.

"I'll be on the coms with you, Tony." Abigail said softly to him knowing that she needed to make sure that they were connected and he would be alright as he flew.

Tony looked over at Abigail and nodded his head knowing that she was going to be behind him every single step of the way and he knew that there was no way that he could stop her from doing so.

"Sir, the suit has not even passed a basic wind-tunnel test."

"That's why you're coming with me." Tony said before firing up the boots and gauntlets again. He hovered, floating along the workshop's driveway.

"I suggest you allow me to employ Directive Four."

"Never interrupt me while I'm with a beautiful woman?"

Abigail let out a scoff shaking her head lightly at Tony's antics.

"That's Directive Six. Directive Four: use any and all means to protect your life should you be incapable of doing so."

"Whatever floats you, Jarvis."

"Activate Jarvis." Abigail ordered the AI. She wasn't about to have Tony risk his life in something so trivial as a test run of the suit he knew nothing about.

"Party pooper." Tony said to his younger sister.

"No, I'm not a party pooper, just protecting you Tony." Abigail said with a huff as he was gone. Abigail paced back and forth slightly concerned that he was up in the air flying around or trying to at least.

Tony suddenly let out a whoop like he was a kid on a roller coaster.

"I take it the flight is going well Tony?" Abigail said letting out a soft chuckle knowing her brother was perhaps having way too much fun with the whole thing.

"Yes, Abs."

Abigail shook her head lightly as she sat down in one of the chairs.

"Power: fifteen percent. Recommend you descend and re-charge, Sir. Acknowledge, Mr. Stark- Power at five percent. Threshold breached -"

Abigail got up to her feet. "Tony? Tony? Tony!" Abigail hollered into the com trying to get Tony to answer but there was no reply. She nervously began to fidget. What did he do? Why didn't he listen to what Jarvis was telling him? Her heart pounded in her chest concerned that her brother might have gone and gotten himself killed.

"Temporary power restored. Descend immediately." Jarvis's voice rang out.

Abigail let out a breath collapsing into her seat putting her head in her hands.

"Jarvis, I think we need to chat about, uh, Directive Four."

"May I remind you, the suit feeds off the same power source as your life-support. A zero-drain of RT will likely kill you."

"You're a downer, Jarvis. But I appreciate the heads-up."

"Shall I take over?"

"No, I got it, I got it -"

Suddenly Tony crashed through the ceiling of his garage, smashing the Shelby Cobra which was parked next to his damaged Saleen. He unlatched his helmet and yanked it off as all of the car alarms were blaring around him. Tony let out a groan. "Perfect. Let's do some upgrades."

Abigail got up to her feet shakily. "Tony, I could kill you right now." Abigail said glowering at her older brother in agitation. She hated the fact that he had almost gotten himself killed.

Tony let out a chuckle as he looked at his sister before getting up to his feet.

"Now you have your cars to repair and that." She shook her head lightly. "Try not to break anything else… you're going to be spending a lot of money on repairs if you aren't careful."

Tony simply shook his head lightly with a grin. "Admit it, you were worried abo0ut me."

"Tony, of course I was worried about you." She said, giving him a sour look. "You should've listened to Jarvis."

Tony held up his hands and nodded his head. "I promise I'll be more careful."

Abigail looked at her brother with her brows furrowed. "I don't know if I can trust you on that one." She pointed out crossing her arms as she slowly went to remove the earpiece she wore. "It's dangerous that you are doing these tests."

"I know, but I promise I'll be more careful with my testing." He said putting his hand on her shoulder grasping it lightly. He wasn't going to injure her not knowing the strength of his suit could be.
