Chapter 2: Troublesome Work (Lisa's quest)
Note: I'm sorry Kaeya and Diluc. The readers wanted to see Barbara or Xiangling or other girls' side quest so I have to skip you guys' quest. Don't worry, someday I will do it
This is before the secret revealed
After confronting Dvalin, the group are back on their own. Lumine has rented the house to stay in before starting the new journey. Right now, Lighting is on his to the Library to borrow some books for Light that he asked for
"Stupid Light. Asking me to borrow the books from Library. What am I to him? A library delivery for him." Lighting grumbled in annoy
-Flashback-
"Hey Lightning." Light called him as Lightning turns to him "What?"
"Can you get me some books about travel guides and The Seven from the Knights of Favonius Library?" Light gave him the small paper list
"Ehh? Why me? Why not ask the others? Why don't you go by yourself?" Lightning asked
"The others are busy. Earth is needing me with something. Water is sleeping now. And the other three are with Lumine and Paimon on commissions. I hope those three didn't cause any trouble." Light said
-Meanwhile with Lumine and the group-
The Trio Trouble Maker is destroying the Hilichurl's camp and some towers. Lumine and Paimon are standing there from the distance with a blank expressions and sweat-dropped
"Why did you pick these three again?" Paimon asked her
"I thought they are fitting for this commission." Lumine answered
-Back to Light and Lightning-
"Come on man. Just a small task." Light said
"Fine." Lightning took the list then left in annoy
-Flashback end-
"*sigh* Let's just finish this task." Lightning said then headed to Library
-In Knights of Favonius Library-
Lightning is in Library now. Right now, Lightning is searching for Lisa to ask her for the books. Until Lightning saw her, who was looking at the shelf so Lightning walked toward her
"*yawn* If you're borrowing a book, please register it in the log. The restricted section is currently not lending any books..." Lisa said
"Miss Lisa." Lightning called her as she turned to him
"Oh? It's you, little cutie." Lisa said with a smile
"It's so good to see you! More refreshing than a strong cup of tea in the afternoon." Lisa said and noticed his clothes changed "Oh your clothes changed? You must be... Lightning right?"
"Yes, that's me. I'm in the first tier." Lightning answered with arms-crossed
"Oh, then why are you changed to Lightning form and not in real form?" Lisa asked in curious
"We can split, remember Lisa?" Lightning said with a blank expression
"Ah, I forgot about that. So did you have something you needed?" Lisa asked then said in a flirtatious tone "...Or did you just come to see me?"
"A-ah... N-no, I don't think I had anything specific in mind..." Lightning said and felt a big chill behind
"Nothing specific? You must just be here to see me then... Hehe... Okay, I won't tease you any further." Lisa giggled
"So Miss Lisa, got any books about travel guides and The Seven? I'm searching them for my brother Light." Lightning said
"For your brother?"
"We split ourselves and we considered each other as brothers... so do you have any about them?"
"Oh, right. I have Teyvat Travel Guide and The Seven. I think it would be quite helpful for you and your friends as travelers here." Lisa said
"Okay. Do you think I could take a peek?" Lightning asked
"I suppose I can try to find you some copies from the list..." Lisa said with arm-crossed
"What does she mean "I suppose"...?" Lightning asked himself as Lisa walked around the Library and came back with one book then put it on her desk then check the list
"Oh dear... That's unfortunate. Our copy is currently being borrowed. That said, it is now overdue... Come to think of it, quite a few of our books are now overdue. I REALLY wish people would just return their books..." Lisa said in a little angry and sweet tone "...on time!"
Lightning starts feeling fear "What is this I'm feeling right now?..."
"Ugh... such a pain. I'm going out to bring those unreturned books back. If you'd rather get your hands on that copy of the Teyvat Travel Guide sooner, you'd better come with me." Lisa told him
"Oh, ah, yes... YES!" Lightning said in fear
"You really are such a considerate cutie. Let's see, first we can go to... The souvenir shop. It's called "With Wind Comes Glory." So let's meet there shortly." Lisa said then left the library and went to the souvenir shop
-Timeskip at Wind Comes Glory-
Lisa and Lightning are now at Wind Comes Glory shop. The owner of this shop is Marjorie
"Let's begin, shall we?" Lisa said as they turned to the owner of the souvenir shop
"Excuse me miss Marjorie, regarding the book you borrowed–" Lightning got interrupted
"Hello Marjorie, any exciting new items in stock?" Lisa asked her then turned to Lightning, who's sweat-dropped
"Why so surprised? Today is such a special day, it's only natural that I'd want a souvenir to remember it by." Lisa told him
"Uhh... Today is just an ordinary day..." Lightning pointed out
"So it is... In that case, I declare this the "Day of"... the "Day of My Life I Wish I Could Get Back Because I Spent My First Ever Outing With Traveler Taking Them on an Annoying Errand."" Lisa explained to him, who was confused a little
"Uhhh? I don't understand?..."
"Haha... Well, if it's a souvenir you're after, you're in the right place. I'm sure you'll find something that strikes your fancy, Lisa. Or could let your new friend pick something out for you... make it more of an occasion?" Majorie asked her
"Ok. Lightny, I let you pick it for me." Lisa told him
"Alright then."
"Take a look around, there's sure to be something she'll love." Majorie showed him a box of souvenirs. Lightning looked around then thinking for seconds
Lightning asked Majorie about "Bloomers" and "Ragged Old Scroll". Well, none of these can be good for Lisa so Lightning asked Majorie about the "Voodoo Doll". She said Lisa enjoys items of historical interest. So Lightning has found something for her
"Then I will choose this." Lightning pointed at "Ragged Old Scroll"
"My my, you clearly know a treasure when you see it. This is a work of unparalleled significance for the research of ancient people's understanding of the elements. I will gladly accept it." Lisa said with a happy smile
"Goodness, is that the time? Marjorie, one last thing – about "The Legend of Vennessa"–" Lisa got interrupted
"Oh, so you're a fan of the gallant Lady Vennessa too? Why didn't you say so? I have all sorts of items I could recommend..." Majorie got excited and then show many items "For example, this lion's tooth pendant with Vennessa's name carved into it. It was once a medal awarded to a knight by the great lady herself!"
"..." Lisa felt a little annoyed for interrupting her
"Uhh, miss Majorie. She was asking about the library book you borrowed." Lightning felt an angry aura from her.
"Oh my goodness! I do apologize, I got so excited when you mentioned Vennessa. I didn't know that book was overdue. Even though I take it with me everywhere... I can't believe I didn't put two and two together as soon as I saw you here, haha... Here you go." Majorie gave the borrowed book back to Lisa
"*sigh* Well, since you look up to Lady Vennessa so very much... Please be more punctual next time." Lisa told her
"Yes, Lisa. I will be, Lisa."
"Let's go and find the next overdue book." Lisa told him as he nodded then they went to Good Hunter
-At Good Hunter-
"Welcome to Good Hunter. Table for two?" Sara asked
"Yes, please." Lisa answered
"Please sit wherever you like and call me over once you're ready to order." Sara told them
"So miss Lisa, we're gonna eat first and bring up the book situation later?" Lightning asked her
"Why, of course. The stress of work really takes the pleasure out of eating, don't you think?"
"Yeah, I guess you're right." Lightning said then talked to Sara while Lisa walked toward the table to sit
"How can I help you?"
"Regarding Lisa's taste in food..." Lightning asked her
"What does Lisa like to eat? She's been here a few times with Master Jean for afternoon tea before. I think she normally orders something vegetarian. A lady tends to eat cautiously on account of her physique, after all! On that note, I should probably be watching my own diet a little more..." Sara explained and Lighting started thinking then walked toward the table and sit with Lisa
"*yawn*... Why don't you order us something, Lightny? I'm ever so curious to know what your tastes are." Lisa said as Lightning picks up the menu and reads
"Steak?"
"Good Hunter's signature dish. If it's what you want, I'll try anything once."
"Northern Smoked Chicken?"
"This seems like the sort of stable bar food you'd find at the tavern. It has an extremely strong flavor, so drinkers love it because they can actually taste it."
"Invigorating Pizza?"
"*gasp* It's like you read my mind... Do you have some magical powers you're not telling me about, Lightny?"
"Uhhh. I don't have any magical powers. What about Radish Veggie Soup?"
"I imagine that making a good vegetable soup takes good quality ingredients cooked in the right order at the right heat for the right length of time. At least, those are the principles that apply when one is making potions. But from what I've heard, soup-making was a popular pastime among the witches of the past."
"Ok then what about Satisfying Salad"
"Eating salad is like piling on more and more elemental power. Raw, unfettered energy applied indiscriminately, with no elegance or control. It's the first mistake all magic users make when they're learning. But then again... if one genuinely had so much pure elemental power that they could solve any problem they wanted... that would be a different matter entirely."
"Okay... Then I will choose Radish Veggie Soup for you and Invigorating Pizza for me."
"Finished ordering? Sit down, let's dine together..." Lisa told him as he sat down and waited for their orders
You enjoyed a relaxing mealtime...
"A fine choice! I'm pleasantly surprised. A truly enchanting dish, certainly a good fit for a witch like me. I am simply brimming with elemental energy after that. And Invigorating Pizza, such extraordinary lengths to prepare for a delicious meal... I'd almost say that's cheating. I didn't know you and Jean got on so well. She used to make this for me once in a while too. As it happens, this is exactly what I was craving - the perfect treat after a tiresome day of work. You've outdone yourself." Lisa explained then said
" Oof... I'm so full... I better tell Earth that I can't join them for dinner..." Lightning said then held his mouth not to burp right in front her
"Time is getting on. I suppose I should carry on with this ghastly thing called work. Let's have a little chat with Sara about her library book." Lisa said then get up as Lightning follows her
"Would you like to order something else?" Sara asked them
"No thank you, we're quite satisfied. But I'm afraid I must ask you about "The Boar Princess"–" Lisa tried to tell her but got interrupted
"The Boar Brisket? I'm sorry, I think we took that off the menu." Sara told them
"..." Lisa felt uncomfortable interrupting her
"Uhh, miss. She was asking about the book you borrowed!" Lightning felt her scary aura again. He didn't want to mess with Lisa
"Oh! Of course! I came straight to the restaurant after I borrowed it and completely forgot that I even had it. I'm so sorry Lisa, I will bring it to the library myself as soon as I finish work." Sara apologized to her then gives her the book
"Mm... Okay then. But make sure you don't forget this time." Lisa said with a sweet tone then turns to Lightning
"Right, onto our next stop then, Lightny." Lisa told him as he follows her
"What am I suddenly feeling fear from her?" Lightning muttered
Lisa and Lightning went to talk to the girl named Donna
"This is our final call for the day." Lisa said
"Welcome...! Uh... c–couples are our specialty! Let me know what you'd like and I'll wrap them up nicely for you." Donna asked
"Uhh. We aren't a couple-" Lightning tried to tell her
"Ah yes... Now which book was it that has the line, "a date without flowers is a date without romance"?" Lisa asked and winked at him to play along. Lightning noticed the hint then play along with her
"Would you by any chance care for some flowers?" Lightning asked
"Why, it just so happens that I would, my kindest cutie." Lisa giggled
"Some flowers for Miss Lisa? What would you like?" Donna asked
"Dandelion?"
"Dandelions are one of our classics, and a personal favorite of Miss Flora, the shop owner. I know what you're thinking: Most flower shops don't sell dandelions, they're a nuisance to care for... Perhaps Miss Flora likes the sense of floating away to a faraway land that the dandelion evokes? Come to think of it, Miss Flora herself gives people the same impression." Donna explained
"Mist Flower?"
"Mist Flowers? Over there in the corner... but don't touch them with your bare hands. You'll get frostbite. You want them? You're sure? What an unusual choice... It's just that Lisa seems to use Electro quite a lot. Things could get a little bit dangerous..." Donna told him
"I see. What does Donna think?"
"You want my help? I don't know if I have the best taste in flowers... Why don't you go ask Miss Flora, the shop owner? I couldn't help but notice the flower on Miss Lisa's hat though – I think it's a Rose." Donna whispered to him
"What about Rose?"
"These roses were bought from a traveling merchant a few days ago. Miss Flora thought maybe someone would like them... This is the only bunch."
"I'll be back shortly." Lightning told Lisa and Donna to wait and walked toward the little girl named Flora
"Excuse me, girl. Do you know what kind of flowers does Lisa like?" Lightning asked her
"You want to know what flowers to get for Miss Lisa? We're not particularly close, but she strikes me as a classy lady! Hmm... Yep, it can only be the Cecilia!" Flora answered him
"Cecilia, huh? Thanks for telling me." Lightning thanked her and walked back to Lisa
"Oh, Lightny. You're back. Have you decided yet?"
"Yes, Miss Lisa. I've already decided. Miss, do you have any Cecilia?" Lightning asked her
"Ah, the Cecilia. Did Miss Flora recommend it to you? This flower is a lot of effort to care for. I hope that I've been doing it right, otherwise they won't last long. But part of the Cecilia's charm is how precious and fragile each one is..." Donna explained
"Then I will take it." Lightning told her
"Ohh la-la, such fine taste. This rare flower is only found in Mondstadt's very highest mountains. If only you had picked them for me with your own hands... They would have had twice the sentimental value." Lisa said
"Okay, time to get back to business. Donna, do you know why we're here?" Lisa asked her
"Back to business? My business is selling flowers!" Donna was confused
"*sigh* Once again, we see a total lack of respect for literature... The Pale Princess and the Six Pygmies. Ring a bell?" Lisa told her
"Oh! Ahh, yes, well, what happened was... was..." Donna felt nervous "Oh no, what am I gonna do?"
"Uhh, you seem frantic. What's wrong?" Lightning asked her
"I... I lost the book." Donna answered
"..." Lisa sighed
"A while back, I realized it was almost due and I was getting ready to bring it back to the library. But I couldn't find it anywhere. I looked for days – but nothing. It's like somebody stole it... It should have been there, on my bedside table. Right where I left it." Donna told her
'Oh no...' Lightning thought
"Well, if it really was stolen, Donna's done nothing wrong. The blame lies with the book thief. And their punishment will be three– No, ten times worse than stealing my book." Lisa said in a "sweet" tone
"Why do I hear boss music?" Lightning started shaking in fear. Lightning snapped out and then asked "How do we find the lost book though?"
"Oh, don't worry about that. As long as I remain librarian, not a single book will go missing for good. I put a unique elemental marker on each book. Our thief will have left a nice set of clues for us to follow." Lisa told
"Whoa, that was an impressive move for the librarian." Lightning impressed
"Of course. That's how I am, sweetie. Come on, let's find this thief." Lisa told him as he nodded then follows her
So they start investigating the elemental mark. Until they found in the middle of Mondstadt City's entrance
"Looking at the elemental traces, it does seem likely that the book was stolen." Lisa examined the mark
"So Donna was right after all." Lightning held his chin to think
"It's not from the restricted section, so it's hardly a book worth stealing. Whoever wanted this book so badly had a strange fixation indeed." Lisa told him
"Hmm... so what do we do now?" Lightning asked
"The elemental traces are very faint, but I can tell that the thief took it beyond the city walls. Let's follow the trail and have a little look where our thief was headed, shall we?" Lisa said then they walked outside the Monstadt City to find the book
Until they found another mark
"The elemental traces are strong here, but it seems our thief did not stay for long. The trail keeps going. Let's keep looking." Lisa said then finding another mark
Investigate the next elemental mark
"Hmm, it's further than I thought. Quite the intrepid explorer, our little thief." Lisa said in a "sweet" tone
As Lightning felt fear again "Why am I feeling scared by her? I thought Balloons were my fear."
Then they found the next elemental mark
"It must be nearby. Follow the flow of magic to find the book." Lisa said then Lightning follows Lisa
They keep following the flow of magic then they found the ruin
"The thief lives inside ruins? Mondstadt thieves do have some strange quirks." Lightning complimented
"Please do not jump to such a preposterous conclusion about the living habits of Mondstadt's residents. This seems far more likely to be the work of some none-too-friendly troublemakers." Lisa told him
"The Abyss Order." Lightning answered with a serious expression
"It's like you can read my mind. This is more likely to be the Abyss Order's doing. They do seem to have a way of slipping in and out of places like ghosts, after all. Also... There is an elemental seal at the entrance. It looks like the result of an Abyss Mage's magic." Lisa pointed at the seal of the entrance
"How are we gonna break it?" Lightning asked
"Not to worry. If you think a little magic can keep me out, think again!" Lisa said
"Why is that?" Lightning was confused a little
Lisa casts lightning, breaking the seal and opening an entrance to the ruins. Lightning's jaw drops in surprise as Lisa giggles at his reaction
"Come on." Lisa told him and walked to the ruin
"Whoa..." Lightning impressed at her power then follows her
-Inside the Abyss Mage Stronghold-
"It's so much bigger in here than others Domain... Sooo, do we really have to go all the way inside?" Lightning asked her
"If you borrow a book, you have to return it. There will be no exceptions." Lisa said
Then they jump and activate their Wind Gliders to all the way and dodge all the wind currents
Once they reach there, the door is locked
"How are we going to open this?" Lightning asked
"There must be some mechanisms here to unlock it. Let's go investigate around this area." Lisa told him as they walk around to search for some clues to open until Lightning found something
"Hey. I found something." Lightning called her as she walked toward
"What are all these? Some sort of sensor." Lightning examined
"Oh, it's Electro-Sensor Archors. I think these are connecting to the door. To unlock it, you must use Electro on them. Luckily, we are Electro users." Lisa said then takes out her catalyst and uses her Electro on them
As the Electro-Sensor Archors are connecting each other then the door opens
"Come on, cutie. Let's go find the thief." Lisa told him as he followed her
Once they reach the next floor with a mechanism in front of the door and it covered with a seal
"This mechanism is covered with some seal. Is this Abyss Order's doing?" Lightning saw some letters surrounding it
"That's correct, Lightny. You seem got a bit intelligent." Lisa complimented
"Thanks. So, how are we going to break it?" Lightning asked
Lisa was about to say something until some hydro slimes came out of nowhere
Lightning and Lisa noticed then took out their weapons
"Lightning Blade Slash!" Lightning sprints then slash all the slimes. They all got electrified then explode
"Lightny, you didn't let me use my Electro on them." Lisa said in a fake sad tone
"Uhh, sorry." Lightning apologized to her as she giggles "It's alright. Come on, let's find that thief."
So they walk to another floor then they fight hydro slimes again but it's only two of them
Once they finished, they start looking for the thief
"Where did that thief go?" Lightning looked around in annoy
"Don't feel annoyed, Lightny. We will find that thief soon." Lisa calmed him down
"Fine." Lightning sighed until more slimes came out of nowhere. Now they have Cryo slimes
"More!? Are you kidding me!?" Lightning said in annoy
"This must be Abyss Order's doing. Look like we are surrounding." Lisa said as the slimes surrounded
"Hnnnggghhh. I don't have time for this! Boboiboy Thunderstorm!" Lightning changed to Thunderstorm then pulled out Thunder Blade "Thunderstorm Sprint!"
Thunderstorm sprints then slash all of them in one second
"My my. Look like Lightny got angry and went to Thundy." Lisa giggled
"There. No more slimes." Thunderstorm said before going to find the thief but something show up. It's Cryo Abyss Mage
"You! You kill them all! I will destroy you-" Abyss Mage got interrupted
"First Form: Thunderclap and Flash!" Zenitsu dashed forward to the Abyss Mage and kill it
Martinthegamer: EYYY! WRONG UNIVERSE ZENITSU!
Take 2
"Thunderstorm Slash!" Thunderstorm dashed forward to the Abyss Mage then broke his shield and got electrified
After defeating the Abyss Mage
"How did you find this place!? It's... so well hidden!" Abyss Mage asked while feeling dizzy from Thunderstorm's slash
"I have no interest in finding out where you little rascals hide yourselves away. But I do want my book back. Tell me, how is it that you have the time to conceal your stronghold and apply a magic seal – but not to sign out a library book in the proper manner? You have no respect whatsoever for other people's work." Lisa said with arms-crossed
"...You— You just want... the book? I was unaware that anyone in Mondstadt was concerned with unearthing the secret hidden inside this book... Who... Who are you?" Cryo Mage asked
"The librarian. Although, I believe that should be quite clear already. Return the book. This is an ultimatum."
"Hmph. Since you insist on concealing your identity... I have all the less reason to give you that book. After all, it contains... the secret..." Cryo Mage stopped and then looked at Lisa, who was smiling darkly and holding the purple lighting "Huh!? Wh—What are you doing!? Such concentrated elemental power! P—Please don't—"
-A few seconds later-
"OH NO! YAMCHA IS DEAD!" Krillin said in shock
Martinthegamer: EYYYY! GET OUT OF HERE!
Take 3
After using up all of Lisa's patience, the Abyss Mage loses consciousness in the ensuing electrical current...
Abyss Mage: *shrieking*
"There. That should do it-" Lisa turned left and saw Thunderstorm is gone
"Eh? Where did Thundy go?" Lisa turned behind and saw Thunderstorm is leaning toward the wall and also trembling in fear
"Lisa is so strong... and so terrifying..." Thunderstorm said in fear
"Hehe. That's why naughty boys who don't do what they're told need a little punishment to keep them in line." Lisa giggled at his reaction
"A LITTLE punishment!?"
" *sigh* This is why I call it troublesome work. We'll just need to find the book ourselves. It should be around here somewhere." Lisa told him as he nodded rapidly because he didn't want to mess with Lisa
Upon opening the Precious Chest in the room underneath. They found the book inside as Thunderstorm picks it up and reads the cover
"The Pale Princess and The Six Pygmies... Is this what we looking for?" Thunderstorm held the book to her
"That's the one. It's a good thing it isn't damaged, otherwise..." Lisa said
"Otherwise what?" Thunderstorm asked
"Hehe. I would probably have needed to dish out a little taste of one of my potions in that case." Lisa told him, which makes him feel a bit chill from behind
"Then again... As I said, it isn't from the restricted section. Which is the only reason I would let the average citizen borrow it in the first place. And it doesn't appear to have any abnormal elemental properties, save for the markings I put on it."
"Yeah... It seems like just an average storybook. So why did the Abyss Order..." Thunderstorm got interrupted
"As far as my duties as a librarian go, my troublesome work is finished. Since this book has piqued your interest, why don't I let you borrow it?" Lisa said
"What's the, um, due date? Please don't punish me if I return it late..." Thunderstorm said in fear
"There's no time limit for you. I will register you as "custodian" rather than "borrower." This is an exclusive privilege reserved for trusted citizens only." Lisa told him
"Exclusive privilege? Why does Paimon feel this is just your sneaky way of offloading your troublesome work onto someone else?" Thunderstorm commented
"Excuse me? Are you in some way dissatisfied with my work?" Lisa said with a scary tone
"No ma'am! I will take extra special care of this book!" Thunderstorm waves his hands rapidly. He is totally forgot about Lisa and her punishment
"Good. You are amendable to reason then. I do wish I could keep you by my side as my personal assistant..." Lisa said as he nodded
"My work here is done. I'm going back. Don't forget to register at the library when you have a spare moment." Lisa told him
"Alright." Thunderstorm said as he follows her then muttered "Note to yourself: Do not make Lisa angry."
-Back at the library-
"The paperwork is done you are now the custodian of this book." Lisa said
"Thanks Miss Lisa." Thunderstorm thanked then said "Miss Lisa, what about Teyvat Travel Guide and The Seven?"
"You are a voracious one, aren't you? About Teyvat Travel Guide. Take a look at that shelf." Lisa pointed at the shelf as Thunderstorm walks toward the shelf and sees so many copies
"Woah, there are so many copies here."
"Hehe... The Teyvat Travel Guide is a serial publication. It is not part of the library's formal collection."
"Oh..." Thunderstorm said with a blank expression
"Take one. Consider it your compensation for being Lisa's little helper today. With you by my side, my troublesome work was a little less dull than usual."
"Seriously? To get the Teyvat Travel Guide by doing all those works?" Thunderstorm said in annoy
"I hadn't anticipated that a few routine returns inquiries would take us out of the city let alone down into some underground ruins. As compensation for dragging you into all this bother, take these souvenirs." Lisa gave him some souvenirs
"Thanks, Miss Lisa!"
"In fact, they were intended for our next routing, but... Never mind, we can discuss next time's activity when the time comes. I hope you are looking forward to it." Lisa said "Oh Thundy, I have something for you."
"What is it?"
Lisa walks up to him and kisses him on the cheek, which makes him confused and red a little "Eh?"
"That's a thank you for helping me. And I kinda enjoyed our date. I hope someday we can have a chat. Oh, and don't forget to return the book The Seven." Lisa said then left "*yawn*"
"What was that?" Thunderstorm muttered then left the library as he transforms back to first tier and dashes back to the house

Lightning walks inside and sees everyone is here
"Lightning. Where have you been? You have gone for very long." Earth asked
