"You're certain of this?" The human asked the vampire.

"Yes, somehow the Slayer's old friends have taken out Lurconis."

"How did they know he was here in Sunnydale?" The man asked.

"We can't get anywhere near them to find out." The vampire answered. "During the day they're at the school and in the evenings in the former Sunset Club. What they're doing in there, we don't know. The protections on that place are very tight and we can't get passed them, we checked as soon as we realized the humans seen with the flamethrowers were friends of the Slayer before she died on Halloween."

"Without the sacrifice to Lurconis my Ascension is in danger." The human said, trying to remain calm. "Three sacrifices were required for his support, this was the third. Without the power this sacrifice would have given me, I don't know if I will have enough. I may, I'm just not sure. You're certain it was the Slayer's friends?"

"Yes, they were often seen hunting with her. They were seen going into the sewers with flamethrowers and Lurconis was found roasted. No one saw them actually do it, but -."

"But. How did they know about him is the question."

"I might be able to help you with that." Another voice said. Startled, both the human and the vampire turned towards the new voice.

"Who are you and how did you get passed my protections?" The human asked, curious. "My protections keep unknown demons out and you're definitely a demon and an unknown one at that."

"Let's just say, I represent the interests of another party and leave it at that. The Slayer's old group has what you might call, future knowledge."

"A seer in their group? That's bad news." The human said calmly. "They can take out my supports and I may never see them coming. Which one is it?"

"Let's just say, someone motivated to change things."

"That's all you're going to tell me?"

"Understand me human, I'm not on your side or theirs. Neither are those I serve. We have our own plans. Do what you want with the information I've given you, it's your choice." And the enigmatic, badly dressed demon, was gone as easily as he'd appeared.

"A seer, I didn't see that coming." The human joked. "And there's little that's more dangerous than a motivated human, look at what I've accomplished and I'm certainly motivated. Hire out to demons. You may not be able to get into that little club of theirs, but they probably can. If we kill them all, than we make sure we get the seer and I don't have to worry about them finding out about me."

"Any demons in particular or should I just call out the Order of Terraka?"

"Let's avoid calling too much attention to ourselves, so no to the Order. Let's go for brute strength, shall we? None of them are physically strong, like the Slayer was."

"Mofo demons are strong and dumb." The vampire pointed out.

"They are, aren't they? Very well, go ahead and procure several of them. Go now." The vampire turned and left quickly, most humans weren't a threat to him or his kind, but this human was an exception. The vampire was terrified of him.

That evening Xander was running the trainees through a martial arts form at the former Sunset Club when a sudden noise brought everything to a halt.

"What was that?" One of the girls asked. Before anyone could respond, several demons rushed into the training room. Xander reached for his denn'bok, which was never far from his hand.

Amy's eyes went dark.

Goddess Hecate, work thy will!

Before thee let the unclean thing crawl!

One of the demons twisted and morphed and shrank.

Cordelia slammed her wooden staff into the face of another, it snapped and she rammed the broken end into its eye. It fell back screaming.

Oz grabbed a dumbbell and moving in close hit another demon in a place that would have made a human male crumble and cup himself. The demon wasn't as effected as a human would have been and backhanded Oz, knocking him down and out. "Oz!" Willow screamed and ran for her boyfriend and manage to pull him out of the way.

Giles had grabbed a sword and was slashing at the demons nearest him. Other people grabbed other weapons and a free for all erupted. Xander drew on Alexander's knowledge and imparted skills and hit the demon nearest him hard with a rapid series of strikes. It went down beneath the barrage and didn't get back up.

Another demon got it's hands on Jenny and began squeezing her throat. She gasped and clawed at the scaly hands holding her, her face darkening. One of the boys jammed a knife into one of its hand and it let go with a cry, the boy didn't hesitate and shoved it into the demon's now exposed chest.

As abruptly as it began, it ended. Six demons lay on the floor and one resembling a scaly gnome was screeching, a quick thrust from Giles' sword and it was silenced forever.

"Well that was different." Amy said. "I've heard of that spell being used on humans and it turns them into an animal. Not that whatever that thing was, got turned in to."

"Mofo demons." Giles said, as he crouched over the barely conscious Jenny. "Dumb brutes, mostly. Hired muscle."

"Hired muscle?" Xander said. "Taking out Lurconis has attracted attention. Whoever would have hired Ethan and offered those babies as sacrifices probably. Are any of them still alive? We need information."

"One of them." One of the boys answered after checking them. "At least breathing, none of the rest are."

"Then let's find out who might have sent them." Xander said grimly.
