*A few years later*

Val was in the training room with Asa, still frustrated with her small, child-esque stature. She knew she was not the only one as well... She had grown used to being in the large spaceship with Frieza, the Saiyans, and the other fighters at his employ. She stayed living with Asa in a shared living quarters. No one bothered them there, but it did make her feel sick to her stomach on the rare evenings where Asa was summoned away to go to Frieza and would not return until the morning. On return, Asa would be quieter, shorter in temper, and would tell Val when she came out of the mood to not grow until she was free, to resist it. Val would agree not to each time.

She still stayed small, but that did not stop Asa from training her, taking up her father's role to do it now. It was hard being so small, but Asa insisted she persist and know how to fight pint sized so that she knew how to fight when she grew. Frieza approved it, having watched them a few times, which seemed to throw off Asa a bit. Raditz, Napa, and Vegeta had also watched them on occasion, as well as a few others from the various alien races on the ship. Whenever a new race came on the ship, Raditz would bring a member up to her in hopes she would change for them, growing more and more frustrated as time went on.

On this day, she was training with Asa with no one watching at first. Val concentrated on sparring with Asa, ducking, dodging, and weaving around the much as possible around the older woman. Asa was not letting up, not taking it any easier on her. Val learned to move fast, or else get punched in the face pretty quickly in her training. Asa was on her now, fists raining down around her. Val had to dodge, using her shorter stature to her advantage. She stayed focused Asa, trying to get her own hits in, grunting in effort.

Then Asa stopped suddenly, unexpectedly. She stood up straighter with her hands hanging at her side, looking behind Val with a controlled expression on her face. Val turned around, looking behind her to just see Raditz leaning against the door to watch the two of them. Val turned to look back at Asa, throwing her a disgruntled look. Asa nodded over to him, gesturing at her to go. Val gave her a sour look, turning around to approach her fiancé and get it over with.

She stood before him, wondering if he was about to traipse her before yet another race of aliens in hopes she would grow. Last time it did not work, he shouted at her for it, but was halted by Vegeta shouting at him to be quiet. Raditz looked down at her, studying her small, sweaty form. Her hair felt esque, prompting her to brush it out of her face and smooth it down. She waited for him to speak first. She was glad at least Asa was there with her.

"Why haven't you grown yet?" He asked her, cutting to the point yet again, impatiently. "It's been years."

She blinked up at him, answering on repeat, "I can't control it."

"Learn," he insisted. "It's been years, and I've been quite patient, but that is at its end. Enough wasting my time and making me wait. Do you know how many races I've brought in front of you?" he glowered.

She shrugged, answering, "dozens." Asa taught her not to cower before anyone, especially since they will expect of someone her size, which was easier said than done. Raditz was less intimidating than the other two Saiyans, bottom of the totem pole so to speak. Napa was more intimidating, in a creepy way. Vegeta had a devil may care attitude, was the most intimidating, but he was the one she liked the best if, if, if she had to pick one. She had heard Vegeta call Raditz a runt time and again, which she was tempted to call him as well, but Asa forbade her to ever do that. She also forbade her to ever purposefully antagonize one of the Saiyans, or Frieza, or any of his fighters.

Raditz loosed a terse breath. "There's another planet Frieza wants for himself, but the race living there is quite formidable. Perhaps we should bring you there with us and see if you will change for them? Or better yet, have you come fight with us?" he joked down at her, still not wanting to take her seriously as a fighter for being so small. He bent down, getting closer to her face. She bit back a grimace at the smell of his breath. "I'm leaving to go get my younger brother on the planet he decimated all by himself when he was your size. Perhaps when the two of us get back, you'll finally be grown," he said, sounding irked. She silently hated the revelation he had a brother, yet another Saiyan for her to hate. "Perhaps we should bring a human or two back to see you to make you grow up? Or maybe you'll change for my brother?" She blinked up at him, keeping her face blank, but feeling her heart pounding in her chest at the idea of yet another Saiyan running around the spaceship with her, or another person from other race being kidnapped just to be brought to her. She was pretty sure those who failed to change her were not treated kindly afterwards. He stood up taller, arms crossed over his chest, as if waiting for her to agree to any of his unrealistic terms. "You will change for me, one way or another," he pressed. He stared down at her. She stared up at him, saying nothing. "I'll look for you when I get back," he warned before walking away.

Val watched him go, allow her nose to wrinkle in disgust at him with his back turned to her and her back turned to Asa. When the door shut behind him, she muttered, "I hope he doesn't come back." She turned back to Asa. She clenched her fists to her sides, feeling her palms warm up.

"Don't let him hear you say that," Asa warned.

"Can we keep training?" Val asked, feeling the strong desire to burn off the annoyance she was feeling. She relaxed her hands, feeling them cool down. She hardly wanted to care for the warning Asa had given her.
