"Sorry did I wake you?" Kara asked when a weary Steve stepped out of the bedroom a couple of weeks later.
"No, it was Chewie." He yawned looking at the dog who was sleeping on the couch.
"Sorry." Kara said.
"So why are you pacing at three in the morning?" Steve asked.
"I keep thinking about Lex."
"What about him?" Steve asked.
"What if he set his trap in Boston and handed himself in in National City so I don't see the risk? What if this is some big ploy to get to Alex?"
"Ignoring the fact your sister will have sent a team to look for every conceivable trap? Alex is smart. Plus she basically has her own army protecting her." Steve reminded her. "It is you flying into danger every night."
"It's not like they can hurt me. Besides they are too intent on killing each other." Kara said with a note of bitterness. "Did you see how many murders there were last week?"
"That's not your fault." Steve said.
"I am the most against killing person you'll ever meet, but I am helpless to stop the killing. And now I am getting blamed for it as well."
"Kara, we have freewill. That means we are responsible for our own actions not everyone else's." Steve said.

"Still not sleeping?" Alex asked when her sister wearily sat down in her office.
"No." Kara sad. "I keep thinking about Lex, Indomitable, the Collector, Chad." She listed.
"To beat whoever is behind this, you need to be fresh." Alex said. "Which means sleep. Why don't you go visit Barry?"
"I could do that." Kara agreed as the door flew open.
"I need to see him." Lena said marching into Alex's office where Alex and Kara were talking.
"You were the one who said let him fester." Alex reminded Lena.
"Well now I am saying interrogate him, then let him rot."
"Why?'
"He turns up and suddenly the murders increase, Supergirl starts getting the blame. Can't ignore the timing." Lena said. "Besides as long as we keep our cool and don't buy into his BS, he can't win."
"Unless he has a tooth." Kara said.
"What?" Her sister asked.
"Like Duke Atreides." Kara explained. "You know poison tooth to take out Baron Harkonnen."
"And you are the evil warlord here?" Lena asked.
"There is no tooth. Every tooth, nail and orifice has been examined." Alex explained before looking at Lena and saying. "You don't seem like you are keeping your cool."
"Want to see me not keeping my cool, keep me away from him."
"I have to face him sometime." Kara said.
"Fine, but if I shut it down you leave no questions asked." Alex conceded.

"You don't look happy to see me." Lex said looking straight at Kara as Kara, Alex and Lena entered the small interrogation room he was in.
"You stranded me half way across the Galaxy." Kara reminded him.
"Seeing how much you complain can you blame me?" Lex smiled. "But you should be thanking me."
"Why?"
"If it hadn't been for me, you never would have had little Alex. But there was no need to name her after me." He smiled. Seeing her tense he added. "I know who you are." Lex reminded Kara. "Which means I know exactly who little Alex is."
"Something J'onn can wipe from your memory." The older Alex said.
"So can I." Lena added.
"Don't tell me you succumbed to those miracle pills and got a power?" Lex asked his sister.
"No." Lena said. "But I own a gun. That is pretty good at destroying a brain and it's ability to overshare."
"I really have missed your immature antics." Lex said. "Shouldn't you be a little nicer. You need me."
"No we don't."
"Yes you do. If you didn't you wouldn't be here."
"Actually we just have a bet on why you turned yourself in. We just want to know who of us wins." Alex said.
"Cute." Lex said. "But we both know you have no idea where I have been, what I have done or why I turned myself in." He added with a smile. "You need me. Time to start working together. Especially if you want to know what I have planned for little Alex."
"Why are we even having this conversation?" Kara asked.
"My guess is you are desperate and have recognised you need my genius." Lex said.
"That's it we're done." Alex said standing. "You have two hours to give us something useful, after that you will be transferred to a facility where you will never have contact with anyone from this planet again."
"Really?" Lex asked. "What are you planning on doing?"
"Well, you just made a threat against Alex." The older Alex said. "Something, Lobo would be very interested in."
"Please, like you would ever hire someone like Lobo."
"You're right I wouldn't. Her grandparents would and did." Kara shrugged. "Something I was against, but you are making me see their side." With that she left the room.
"While it is sweet that she named her daughter after me, you know it was the wrong child that was named in my honour." Lex commented before looking directly at Alex and asking. "How is little MJ?"

As Matt walked up the driveway he saw the older Kara loitering by the front door.
"Is Alex okay?" He greeted.
"Oh, Matt. Hi." Kara replied. "Alex is fine."
"Then why are you standing on the drive?"
"I wanted to see Alex, but I don't want to disturb her. I should go."
"If she finds out you were here and didn't see her she'll be grumpy." Matt countered as he opened the front door and called. "Alex, visitor."
"Mom? What are you doing here? Are you okay?" The younger Alex said walking to the door.
"I'm fine, I just wanted to see you." Kara smiled as she hugged her.
"What's happened?" Alex asked returning the hug.
"I saw Lex Luthor today."
"Are you okay?"
"Yes, but he kind of threatened you and I just needed to make sure you were okay." Kara explained.
"I'm fine." Alex said hugging her. Pulling away she asked. "Did he threaten you?"
"No. Just you."
"Where is he?"
"Still locked away."
"So he can't hurt you?"
"He can't hurt anyone. But I still worry about you. I'm sorry, I didn't mean to interrupt your plans." Kara said. "I'll leave you to it."
"Why don't we go have dinner?" Alex asked.
"I need to get back." Kara said. "I am meant to be at a DEO briefing."
"You sure?"
"Yes."
"Then do you want to hang out this weekend?" Alex asked.
"You don't need to worry about me." Kara said feeling guilty.
"Kinda do, but it's not that. I miss you."
"I miss you too." Kara said.
"So this weekend?" Alex asked.
"You sure?" Kara questioned.
"Yes."
"Okay. I'll see you Saturday." Kara smiled before hugging her daughter. "I love you."
"Love you too."

"You know he was talking BS?" Lena said to the older Alex.
"We don't know that for sure."
"Well, actually I do." Lena said. "I have seen MJ's DNA, so have you. Any Luthor in it would have jumped out. Lex is being Lex and is messing with you."
"I know. And I am letting him and that really annoys me. How did you grow up with him and not lose your mind?" Alex asked pacing.
"By picking my battles and ensuring I won them." Lena said. Seeing Alex's expression she added. "I won a few. Not as many as I would like, but a few. And seeing he is about to be locked away for good, I get the last laugh."
"Yes you do." Alex agreed.
"So you are good?" Lena asked.
"I'm fine."
"Your jaw is still clenching." Lena pointed out. "Why don't you come with me to my spin class?"
"Spin class?" Alex asked.
"Yes." Lena confirmed. "It will be good for you."
"I don't know how to take that." Alex said.
"So that's a yes then." Lena said. "And Alex, I'm sorry for pressing for a meeting with Lex. As soon as we walked in I knew it was a mistake. But I still let him get to me."

"What's going on?" Steve asked when he entered the apartment and saw Kara, Alex and Lena all looking miserable.
"Steve, what are you doing here?" Kara asked.
"Martin called to say you had gone to Boston and looked really stressed."
"We talked to Lex." Kara said.
"Lex? As in Luthor?" Steve asked.
"Yes." Kara said.
"The man who stranded you across the galaxy who Lena told you to stay away from?"
"Well she said fester. And we did that. I had to talk to him eventually. We had to work out why he handed himself in."
"And did you figure it out?"
"To mess with us." Lena said.
"Where is now?"
"Locked away."
"So it's okay?" Steve asked not understanding the somber mood.
"No, we have to waste time figuring out what he was doing before he turned himself in." Lena said.
"And you can't just ask him?"
"Not if we want an honest and useful answer." Lena said before explaining. "People like you can't comprehend how sick and evil he is."
"People like me?" Steve asked.
"Nice people." Lena said.
