Max and Cy-Croc were very shocked when they saw the giant yacht. They were still half a mile away from it, but they could already see that Captain Board didn't lie. It was on fire and it was sinking, but it was worse than Captain Board told them about it.
"Does this look like the work of the flaming monsters to you, Cy-Croc?" Max asked. "I know there's no land for miles, but, like you said, they must never be underestimated."
"Well, according to my red eye, Max, I can see no evidence that the flaming monsters did this," Cy-Croc said. "From what I can make out, the flames on the yacht are normal ones. But I shall find out more when I get onboard and rescue everyone."
"So, I'm to sit in this boat and look after the passengers you bring to me?"
"No, Max. There's a much more important job you need to do than that."
"What's the job?"
"Turn your disguise on and put on your scuba diving gear."
"I don't see how that's gonna –"
"Just do as I say, Max," Cy-Croc said, "and then I'll explain, I promise."
Max did as he was told. He pressed the button on the device on top of his head and his Bud Maskton disguise came on. Then he put on his scuba diving tank and diver's mask on. "Okay, Cy-Croc, I've got my gear on. Now, please explain the job I have to do."
"My red eye has shown me that there are people trapped in the sinking part of the burning yacht. They are drowning as well as being trapped under the burning part."
"Shouldn't you be doing the underwater job?" Max asked. "Only because you can breathe and stay underwater much longer than I can."
"True, but I don't see you carrying anything to fight fires." Then Cy-Croc turned her left metal hand into a fire hose nozzle. "And because this fire hose is attached to me, I can't give it to you."
"Understood," Max said.
"But I will give you this." Cy-Croc gave Max something that looked like a pen. "It's a laser pen. Click the top end and it shoots a red laser in case you need to make a hole. Oh, and take all these very small breathing cylinders for the people who are drowning." She gave them to him.
When they were close enough, Cy-Croc put the button of the invention on top of her head and turned on her Awel Caddell disguise. She managed to hide her fire hose and made it look she was holding it on an ordinary green crocodile hand.
"Good luck!" they both said to each other before they went their separate ways. Cy-Croc as Awel Caddell jumped onto the yacht and started to fight the fires on the yacht while Max as Bud Maskton dived into the sea.
Max swam to the bottom of the sinking yacht and found a big hole. He thought that must be how the yacht started to sink. Though the hole was quite big, it wasn't big enough for him to swim into the yacht and start rescuing people. Then he remembered the laser pen Cy-Croc gave him. So he aimed the pen as the hole and clicked the top end. Out came a red laser and it started cutting into the yacht.
After he made the hole bigger, Max swam immediately into the yacht. Once he got in, he found the people and they were still alive but drowning. He swam to them and put the breathing cylinders into their mouths as quickly as he could. Once he checked that he hadn't left anyone out with the mini breathing cylinders, one by one, he started to take the people out of the yacht and to the lifeguard boat as quickly and safely as he could.
Despite they wished they had more people to help them, both Max and Cy-Croc were doing very well under the circumstances they were under. Cy-Croc couldn't stop the fire on the yacht, but she did manage to put out enough to be able to rescue the trapped people on it. And Max did the very best of his ability to bring the people who were drowning in the sinking part of the yacht out of it and onto the lifeguard boat.
Soon, Max went back through the sinking hole for the untracked time and discovered that he had only one more life to save. It was a red-haired female dog wearing a pink tank top and white shorts and brown flip flops. He went to escort her out, but some rubble from the upper decks of the yacht came crashing in and pinned her down. As if being trapped under rubble wasn't bad enough, that also made her spit out the breathing cylinder that Max gave her earlier and it became lost in the rumble.
Max didn't have a spare breathing cylinder and he didn't have time to look for the missing one, so he swam to the lady and put his spare breathing regulator into her mouth. Then he tried to free her from the rumble, but it was too heavy to move. Then he remembered the laser pen, so he got it out, aimed it at the rumble and clicked the top. But nothing happened. Nothing came out. Then he tried again. Nothing came out. Then he noticed that air gauge was telling him that his air tank was nearly empty. He tried to move the rubble once more, but he still had no better luck.
Then Max saw a red laser go through the rubble and it freed the lady. As he picked her up and swam forward, he saw Cy-Croc, still in her Awel Caddell disguise, swimming towards him.
"Come on, Bud!" Cy-Croc yelled. "We have to get out of here!" Then she helped Max and the unconscious victim out of the yacht that was now completely sunk to the sea bed and headed for the lifeguard boat.
Cy-Croc went first onto the lifeguard boat so she could help Max put the red-haired dog on it along with the other rescued people. Then she helped Max onboard the boat and helped him take his scuba diving equipment off.
"Well done, Bud," Cy-Croc said.
"You too, Awel," Max said. "Looks like we've rescued everyone and they are all alive."
"We don't know about this one, though."
Max knew she meant red-haired dog that he and Cy-Croc had just rescued.
"She's the only one who's unconscious."
"May I check her?" Max asked.
"Go right ahead," Cy-Croc said.
Then he went to move the hair to perform his CPR. After he did, he saw the lady's face and he jumped and fell back down.
"What's wrong, Bud?" Cy-Croc asked. "You look like you've just seen a ghost."
"Not a ghost, Awel," Max said. "But an ex-girlfriend."
Cy-Croc looked at the unconscious lady. "Are you seriously saying that's –"
"Yes, Awel. I seriously am. That is Roxanne."
