As Hunter, Fennec, and Boba approach Ord Mantell, Hunter feels anger and grief well up inside him. Ord Mantell was where he had lost Omega to Dr Hemlock thanks to Cid working for the Empire and where he had lost Phee to Saw Gerrera.

It was warm on the Havoc Marauder, and Hyperspace lit the craft. The sounds of the ship's hum echoed through the craft, and Hunter breathed in the scent of the craft's metal and his teammates as he sat on the supportive pilot's seat chair.

"Considering how much time you spent on Ord Mantell, I recommend you lead us to where Cid operated," Fennec said.

"Sure," Hunter replied. Five days had passed since they left Hosnian Prime, but even now, Hunter thought the plan Eze had concocted wouldn't work, not on Cad Bane. Soon, the navicomputer beeped, and Hunter pulled a lever back. The starlines returned to stars as the Havoc Marauder returned to real space.

Ord Mantell was mostly a desert. Most of the landscape was brown, although there were oceans visible. There was some cloud cover, but the greenery was scarce. As Hunter steered the Havoc Marauder onto the surface, the temperature dropped significantly, and when they reached the surface outside Ord Mantell city, it was the dead of night.

"This makes our mission easier, I hope," Hunter said.

"Then let's get in and out quickly. The sooner we get out, the more time advantage we get on Bane," Boba replied.

"Then let's go," Hunter replied, setting the craft to standby but on the quick startup mode Tech had installed before leading the squad outside.

It was mild at Ord Mantell City for a Winter day, though despite the armour, Fennec shivered slightly. There was no light except minimal light from Ord Mantell's moons. It was eerily quiet, and only the scents of dirt, stone and metal wafted through the air as Fennec walked on the solid ground.

Fennec wasn't sure if Hunter knew where he was going, but she trusted him enough to guide them safely. Thankfully, the incident with Saw Gerrera had scared the Empire away from the planet, so Stormtroopers weren't a threat. There were a few revellers here and there, but otherwise, it was dead quiet.

"This is eerie," Hunter admitted.

"Agreed," Fennec replied.

Eventually, Hunter discovered his Vibroblade lying in the middle of the path between the Parlour and the main road.

"Huh. I wonder why this is here," Hunter said as he picked it up and sheathed it.

"This way," Hunter said, "That was the direction I came from when I stabbed Saw Gerrera,"

"Alright," Fennec replied, and Hunter led the way to the wrecked remains of the Parlour.

When the trio reached the Parlour, a sign sat out the front.

"This was the Parlour of Ciddarian Scaleback. Ciddarian Scaleback was an imperial traitor who sold out Ord Mantell to the Empire. Nobody will clean the Parlour up as a reminder to others about what happens when you work for the Empire," the sign said.

"Ominous,' Fennec said. Saw Gerrera wrecked the place," Hunter replied as they entered.

It was a cold night for Winter inside the Parlour. Boba had to turn on his helmet light to see. Boba heard sparking from the broken electronics, and the scent of burnt materials assaulted his senses. The smashed wood, metal, and glass across the floor made for treacherous navigation.

Boba couldn't shake off the feeling that Cad Bane would ambush them, but they reached Cid's office without incident.

Incredibly, despite the explosion and fire, one box of Spice had survived at the back of her office.

"Send a notification to Eze. We have his Spice," Hunter said.

"Done," Fennec replied after a moment.

"And I've installed the tracker," Boba replied, "Hopefully, that'll distract Bane for a bit,"

"Hopefully," Hunter replied. Fennec, Hunter, and Boba quickly retreated from the Parlour and headed back towards the Havoc Marauder.

With Cad Bane

As the Havoc Marauder departed Ord Mantell, Cad Bane watched on in the Justifier.

"Amusing that they think something as simple as that would trick me," Bane smiled maliciously.

"Wouldn't it be prudent to check anyway?" Toto asked.

"No," Bane laid back in the Justifier, "But maybe we should pretend we've fallen for it. We won't lose much time,"

Toto nodded, and Band slowly headed for the surface, waiting for the Havoc Marauder to jump to Hyperspace.

Back to Hunter, Fennec, and Boba.

The environment on the Havoc Marauder was tense. The climate had gotten milder, and Fennec hummed quietly to herself.

"What's the plan? Either of you know much about Teth?" Hunter asked.

"I know a little," Boba replied, "If we've got to face the Empire, then we need to put the Marauder down under some forest cover. That should make it harder for the Empire to know we're here,"

"Agreed," Hunter replied as he pulled the craft out of Hyperspace near a strange pink-and-purple world.

Once they arrive, they get an incoming message.

"Who is it?" Fennec asked.

"Let's find out," Hunter replied as he turned the communicator on, "Hunter here. Identify yourself, please,"

"Kuan Si and Khan So," a grave voice replied.

"Hey, you're the duo Eze told us to meet up with. Where are you?" Hunter asked.

"B'omarr Order Monastery," Kuan replied, "But with the Empire bearing down on us, I recommend you land a good distance away,"

"Alright," Hunter replied as he cut the communication.

"Well, we know where to go," Boba said as Hunter steered the craft towards the surface.

Knowing that the Empire was approaching Teth, Hunter knew they had to get to the surface quickly and link up with Kuan and Khan. But as Hunter reached the planet's surface, a problem showed itself. There is minimal canopy coverage between them and the monastery. Additionally, they would need to climb a cliff to reach the monastery before linking with Kuan and Khan.

"Hope you've got some climbing gear," Hunter said to Fennec and Boba as he landed.

"We'll be fine," Fennec replied. Hunter nodded, grabbed his climbing gear from a storage space nearby, and the trio departed the Havoc Marauder, heading for the monastery.

It took two hours to reach the cliff that held the monastery on top and more time to climb it. When the trio reached the top, they looked at a brilliant monastery carved out of hard stone. It was brown, though tinted pink by the landscape and atmosphere. On the lower floor was the entrance to the large, cylindrical structure in the middle with two large sets of eaves neat the top with a pole sticking out the top. Surrounding areas had smaller, cylindrical structures with one set of eaves and a similar golden pole structure on top. The monastery was grand despite being abandoned generations ago. It was cold at this altitude, especially for a Winter day. The star provided most of the light, the sound of wind blowing over the area, and the scent of stone and the forest many meters below.

"So where are they?" Hunter asked. Several seconds later, two Kaminoans exited the monastery, answering his question. One looked middle-aged. Hunter assumed this was Kuan Si. He had black sclera and white irises, white skin, a fin on his head, a long neck, and wearing a black-and-grey Clone uniform. The younger one, who Hunter assumed was Khan So, looked similar to Kuan Si, though a few of his facial features looked closer to a younger male, Nala Se. Contrasting with Kuan Si, Khan So was wearing a silver and light blue robe.

"Kuan, Khan," Hunter nodded to each in turn.

"Hunter, good to see you again," Kuan replied, "Though where is the rest of your squad?"

"Dead, captured, or working with Rex," Hunter summarised.

"Oh," Kuan replied before he turned to Fennec and Boba, "I see you've made a few allies out of your predicament. Good to see you doing OK, Boba,"

Kuan then turned to Fennec, "Although, who are you?"

"The name's Fennec Shand," Fennec replied.

"I've heard of you," Khan replied, "You were the one who took on Cad Bane to protect my Clone sister,"

"Wait. You're Khan? Nala Se's nephew?" Fennec asked, astonished.

"The very same," Khan replied, "If you want to discuss things further, we should discuss it in the monastery,"

"Lead the way," Hunter replied. Kuan Si nodded and entered, with Khan close behind. Hunter, Fennec, and Boba followed suit.

Hunter, Fennec, and Boba felt the temperature increase noticeably as they followed Kuan and Khan into the lower floor of the monastery. The midday sun filtered through the monastery, partially lighting the dark corridor. The scents of stone and metal reached Hunter's senses as he walked on the hard floor. Hunter turned on the lights on his helmet to see dozens of Clones standing around, ready to fight.

"I didn't expect this," Hunter admitted as his light shone on the Clones.

"The Ranger Legion. I had them commissioned special," Kuan Si replied.

"Fascinating," Hunter replied, "How are they going to fare against Hemlock?"

"They can hold their own," Kuan replied before he turned to Khan.

"You know what you're here for. Now, get going. The sooner you've got what you're looking for, the better,"

"Right," Khan replied before he ran further inside the monastery.

"I knew there was a reason you were here," Fennec said.

"Dr Hemlock and his Commandos are coming along with Cad Bane. We must prepare for both," Hunter replied.

"We've got Clones patrolling the forests around this monastery/ There's detectors in orbit and five hundred Astronomical Units away, so we'll know when they're coming.

No sooner had he said that than the five hundred AU detector went off.

"What is it?" one of the troopers asked. Kuan brought up the hologram report, which showed the Justifier.

"Cad Bane," Boba snarled,

"He's probably acting as an Imperial scout," Hunter replied.

"That wouldn't surprise me," Boba replied.

"I'll try to hold him off. Everyone else, set up a defence against Dr Hemlock and his Commandos," Fennec said.

"Let's do it," Hunter replied. Fennec nodded, then ran out of the monastery.

The Teth orbital detectors went off as Cad Bane entered the planetary atmosphere.

"Let's do this," Kuan said to the other Clones, who nodded and scattered to their positions.

"How many troopers have you got with you?" Hunter asked.

"One thousand," Kuan replied, "The legion is one hundred thousand,"

"Impressive," Boba replied, "What can I do?"

"Dr Hemlock will be targeting everyone here except Fennec. So we'll need to scatter as far as possible but keep close enough that we can back each other up," Hunter replied.

"Then I'm sticking with you," Boba replied, "You managed to keep Omega away from the Empire for a while. And without Fennec, you're probably the next best,"

And then, the 500 AU detector went off.

"Another detection, this one much bigger," a Commander called.

Kuan looked grimly at the Commander, "The Empire's almost here. Get the long-range scout ships into orbit and the atmosphere. Find out what they're up to," Kuan called.

"Acknowledged," the Commander replied as he keyed the instructions. To Hunter's shock, several Vulture Droids flew out towards space.

"You're appropriating Separatist technology?" Hunter asked.

"We've taken the time to reprogram them to fight for us, but yes, we have repurposed their technology," Kuan replied.

Hunter wasn't sure how he felt about this, but he knew to trust Kuan's judgement.

"Khan, where are you? Cad Bane is here, and the Empire's close behind," Kuan called into his intercom.

"I'm trying to find it," Khan replied, "There's a hundred of these storage places, and it's hard to find the right one,"

"Please hurry up," Kuan replied.

("I'll try, father," Khan replied as he silenced the intercom.)

"The Empire's jamming our transmissions," Kuan replied, "Commander, send a group of Clones to the detention area to help my son,"

"Will do," the Commander replied.

"Hunter, get to the upper floors and back the Clones up. Hemlock and Bane won't want to kill you, so they'll show restraint. They'll likely use stuns, so be aware,"

More sounds then reached them. The battle of Teth had begun as artillery fire started on the incoming V-Wings and LAAT Gunships.

"Let's go," Hunter said as he ran to join the fight.

When Hunter joined the battle, he could see it wasn't going well. The repeated strafes of the V-Wings were making it a challenge for the artillery to get shots off.

"Looks like they're landing in the forest," Hunter called.

"Then let the traps and our fighters wear them down," another trooper called.

Hunter moved forward and continued to fire on the troopers, carefully avoiding returning fire.

With Fennec Shand

Fennec Shand stood on the upper ring, waiting for the back door arrival of Cad Bane. There were many stone pillars with green lights sticking up a high ceiling. (There was a concrete floor with two brown rings around, one smaller and near the centre and the other circling the outer area and containing some pillars.) The ring Fennec is on sits two-thirds of the way towards the ceiling. The air was warm but still, with the star lighting the room. Fennec could hear the distant sound of the battle, and although stone dominated the scents that wafted through, Fennec was alert for the odour that signalled the approaching Duros.

The first clue that Cad Bane had arrived was when Fennec heard the hum of his craft. A moment later, Fennec knew Cad Bane was entering. His footsteps echoed off the walls.

"I know you're here. Who is it? I'm going to take you down and capture who Dr Hemlock is after," came Bane's cold, deep voice from below.

Fennec waited momentarily for when Bane would reach the middle of the foyer but quickly knew he wouldn't. Bane knew where she was. Fennec carefully dropped an explosive from above, but when Bane saw it, he jumped back instead of forward to avoid it.

"Fennec Shand," Bane sneered, "Associating with Clones. Not befitting someone of your reputation,"

Fennec started moving slowly around the ring to find Bane. Bane rewarded Fennec by forcing her to move back quickly as Bane fired on her.

"So that's where you're hiding," Bane taunted as he started throwing bombs around the ring.

Fennec jumped down immediately, knowing the bombs would destroy the ring she was occupying. The explosions rang out, and Fennec used the opportunity to fire several shots at Bane, which he effortlessly avoided, then fired back, forcing Fennec to hide behind pillars to avoid being shot.

Then the explosives went off, and Fennec had to fall back to the corridor to avoid getting buried under rubble. She slammed the door that separated the corridor from the rear foyer shut, then shot the mechanism to slow Bane down as much as possible.

Back to Kuan Si

Kuan Si studied the battlefield, concerned at Fennec Shand's retreat. )The retreat meant Cad Bane was going to attack them from behind. He had to do something quickly.) He then got an idea.

"Commander, keep watch over the battle. I'll be back soon," Kuan told his Commander, who nodded, "Yes, sir," before Kuan dashed off using Force Speed towards Fennec. Kuan ran into a confused Boba and said, "I know you want to fight, but this isn't your fight. Hide,"

Boba knew not to disobey a direct order, so he looked for a hiding spot.

Soon, Kuan approached Fennec, only to see Cad Bane forcibly open the door.

"No!" Kuan Si yelled as he threw his hands out. Immediately, the Force Push threw Bane back significantly, landing hard on his back.

"Come on, we need to regroup," Kuan stated as he used the Force to close the door, then used the Force to barricade the door using several pillars as Fennec pulled back to the entry foyer. Barricade complete, Kuan used Force Dash to return to the front hall to regroup with the others.

As Kuan Si returned to his battle quarters, he found that the forces led by Dr Hemlock were pushing his forces back and were now ascending the cliff face towards the monastery.

"Set up traps at the edge of the cliff. Give them a surprise when they get up," Kuan stated as Hunter ran to him.

"Affirmative," the Clones replied as they returned to the platform and set the traps.

"What's up, Hunter?" Kuan Si asked.

"Where's Boba? And where's Bane?" Hunter asked.

"Bane is working his way through the barricades Kuan put in. As for Boba, I assume he's hiding somewhere," Fennec replied.

"We need to create a path to escape. Dr Hemlock's forces are likely minutes away from breaching, and it will be impossible to hold them back," Kuan stated.

"We can push out the back way, but we'd need to distract Bane to stand a chance with that," Fennec replied.

"Perhaps Boba and Khan could help with that?" Hunter asked.

"Possibly," Kuan replied.

"Father, come in," came Khan's voice from the intercom.

"What is it, Khan?" Kuan Si asked.

"I've found what I was looking for. But the detention floor has been breached by Hemlock's forces," Khan replied.

"I'll go down and help out," Hunter said.

"Take some troopers with you," Kuan replied, "Fennec, go and find Boba and head off Bane,"

"Sounds like a plan," Fennec replied before she ran back the way she came.

With Boba

Boba had found a crevice to hide behind as he tried to hide from Cad Bane. The crevice he was in was mild but unlit. The sound of the wind outside blew through, and the scent of metal and rock wafted through the monastery.

"Come out, Boba, I know you're here," Cad Bane sneered. Boba glanced around the corner and pulled back immediately as Bane attempted to stun him.

"So that's where you are," Boba stated as he started down the corridor away from Bane, hoping it would allow for escape.

Just as he reached an intersection, he saw Cad Bane enter the corridor. Suddenly, Fennec Shand struck Bane, and they started fighting. Boba ran for it, trying to find someone to help him. Fennec wouldn't hold Bane off for long, and Bane would be on him again any minute.

Boba was distracted by his thoughts, so he didn't notice the drop in temperature when he got to the lower floor. It wasn't until he saw the troopers on guard around him and the distant sound of blaster fire that he realised he was in the Detention level. The detention level meant Khan. And sure enough, Khan walked into view holding a Holocron.

"Boba, what's up?" Khan asked.

"We're losing, and badly. Bane's breached the rear, and Hemlock's forces are breaching the front," Boba replied as he heard more footsteps. He turned around, expecting Bane, but only saw Hunter and other troopers.

"Got everything, Khan?" Hunter asked.

"I have," Khan replied, "Hemlock's forces are getting too close for my liking. Where's Bane?"

"Probably on his way down here," Boba replied, "Depending on how long Fennec's held him off,"

"He's just one bounty hunter. Cad Bane is a strong one, but one I can handle long enough for us to get past him. I can't counter Hemlock's forces without a Lightsaber. And neither my father nor I have one," Khan admitted.

"We'll hold Hemlock's forces off as long as possible, Khan. You escape and take Kuan, Hunter, and Boba with you. It's been an honour to serve," a trooper said.

"That it has. Give me a moment," Khan replied. He took a few steps forward, then threw his arms out in front of him, using a Force Push to blow back the advancing troopers.

"Let's go," Khan called, and he, Hunter, Boba, and a group of troopers followed him while others stayed back to stall Hemlock's Commandos.

The group reached the top of the stairs before Cad Bane reappeared. And this time, Bane's transponder was on, so Dr Hemlock knew where everyone was.

"You're not escaping this time," Bane taunted.

"We'll see about that," Boba replied.

"I don't have time for this," Khan replied, and he used Force Grab to get ahold of Bane, then used Force Push to throw him back down the corridor. Bane responded by attempting to grab ahold of Khan using his grappling hook, but Kuan's arrival and use of Force Crush to destroy the grappling hook prevented that. The troopers subsequently opened fire on Bane, forcing him to retreat.

"Fennec, can you hear me?" Hunter called into his intercom.

"Loud and clear. What's up?" Fennec asked.

"We're evacuating. Khan has what he came for, and our defence is failing against Hemlock's onslaught," Hunter replied.

"Right. I'm on my way," Fennec replied.

Hunter, Boba, Kuan, Khan, and about forty troopers continued towards the rear foyer when suddenly Delta Squad flew in from the rear, forcing them to split into two groups.

"Delta Squad. That's about the worst squad we could've encountered," Kuan stated as he and Khan fled towards one side of the external towers of the monastery while Hunter, Boba, and Fennec fled towards the other side.

Meanwhile Dr Hemlock

Dr Hemlock is watching the battle progress from his Venator-Class Star Destroyer. It's mild on the Venator, and the star and internal artificial lights light the craft. The hum of the craft's engines rang through the bridge, combined with the constant calls from the battle. The scent of metal and electricity hung as Dr Hemlock tapped his ungloved hand on the holo table he was watching.

"Sir, Delta Squad have scattered the retreating forces. Which group do we go after?" a bridge officer called.

"What are the groups?" Dr Hemlock asked.

"Hutner, Fennec, Boba going one way, Khan and Kuan the other," the bridge officer replied.

Dr Hemlock thought this through momentarily.

"We can't afford to miss the chance to get the Force-Sensitive Kaminoans. Get Cad Bane to pursue Hunter, Boba, and Fennec, but get Delta Squad to go after Khan and Kuan," Dr Hemlock replied.

"Affirmative," the bridge officer replied, relaying the orders.

Back to Kuan and Khan

Kuan and Khan used the Force to cave part of the monastery in to slow the progress of Delta Squad, allowing the duo to establish a trap. Since Khan knew he was the more important target to Hemlock, he acted as bait. Standing at the opposite end of the bridge between the monastery and the cone-shaped pillar he stood next to while waiting for Delta Squad.

Scorch was first to notice him, and Scorch stood cautiously opposite Khan.

"It'll be easier on you if you come with us," Scorch said, "Dr Hemlock wouldn't be pleased if you fell from here,"

Before Scorch could register another presence, Kuan moved. He managed to grab Scorch's helmet and cast a strange Force spell on him. Scorch stumbled back, disorientated.

"Scorch, what's wrong?" Fixer demanded.

"What did you do?" Scorch asked Kuan.

"I disabled your Inhibitor Chip. I also stored something else deep in your psyche. It'll come in useful later," Kuan replied as he did similar to Fixer while Khan did it to Boss.

"Now, while the Commandos are disoriented, we can escape," Khan said.

"Agreed," Kuan replied, and they used Force Speed to cross the bridge and jump onboard a rescue ship that Kuan had sent for earlier.

"Hunter, we're escaping. If your group can get back to your craft, meet us at these coordinates," Kuan messaged Hunter.

"Will do," Hunter replied.

"Keep low and move fast. We need to make the distance on Hemlock," Kuan called to the pilots, who nodded and swept the craft low over the surface, and the Force-Sensitive Kaminoans escaped Dr Hemlock.

Meanwhile, Boba, Hunter, and Fennec

"How are we getting down?" Hunter asked as the trio headed for the cone-shaped structure at the edge of the monastery.

"The way we got up here," Fennec replied.

"Cover me. I'll go first, return to the Havoc Marauder, and pick you up. How does that sound?" Hunter suggested.

"Go. We'll hold Bane off," Fennec replied as Cad Bane appeared from the monastery exit.

"You're not escaping," Bane sneered as Hunter descended from the cliffs.

"We'll see about that," Fennec replied as she started firing on Bane, who used the door as cover to fire back. Fennec and Boba used the cone-shaped structure as their cover while exchanging fire with Bane.

Boba, Fennec, and Bane were matching blaster fire until two V-Wings came through and shot at Fennec and Boba. Not only did the structure Fennec and Boba used as cover from Cad Bane get damaged but Boba was knocked off the platform. Fennec managed to grab Boba and pull him up, but the distraction was enough for Bane to close the distance between him, Fennec, and Boba.

"Watch out!" Boba yelled, but it was too late. As Fennec went to shoot, Bane activated his jet boots to leap off the bridge and deliver a forceful kick to Fennec's midsection. The forcible kick was enough to knock Fennec off the platform, and before Boba could recover his balance enough to fire back, Bane turned and stunned him.

Fennec managed to activate her grappling hook before hitting the ground, and when Hunter returned with the Havoc Marauder, with Hunter's help, Fennec got on board.

"Where's Boba?" Hunter asked.

"Stunned by Cad Bane," Fennec replied.

"We need to go back for him," Hunter replied as he ran to the cockpit and flew towards the monastery. However, they were quickly tailed by two V-Wings, forcing a retreat.

"Get to the tail gun and blast those V-Wings out of the sky," Hunter called.

"On it," Fennec replied, and within seconds, she was returning fire. And after a few more seconds, the V-Wings were shot down.

"Let's go find Boba," Hunter said as he turned the Havoc Marauder towards the monastery.

Unfortunately, before they reached the platform Fennec fell from, Delta squad was already carrying Boba inside.

"We're too late. Hemlock's got Boba," Hunter growled as he turned and flew away. Keeping low to the ground, Hunter managed to avoid any V-Wing patrols that might have stopped their escape. Eventually, they were clear, and Hunter steered the craft into space. Once the navicomputer had calculated their Hyperspace route, Hunter jumped the Havoc Marauder into Hyperspace.
