To my readers-I decided that instead of making 2 huge volumes of A Ketchum's journey, I decided to make them into 4 separate volumes. Volume 1 will contain the Kanto and Johto regions, Volume 2 will contain Hoenn and Sinnoh regions, Volume 3 will contain Unova and Kalos regions, last but not least, Volume 4 will contain Alola and Galar regions. I want each and every one of you to know that if you personally don't like the way I'm writing the fanfic, then you don't have to read it. I will not reach through my laptop to force you to read any fandoms that I write for because you can probably find a lot better fanfics in those fandoms over mine. Even if you can't find what you're looking for and still don't like the way I write it, then I encourage you to write your own. Happy Reading!
I DONT OWN POKEMON. I ONLY OWN MY OC AND THE CREATION OF HER REGIONAL POKEMON TEAMS.
Shoutouts:
The sun shines through the windows of Lillie's house as Lillie and Snowy were eating breakfast. "Snowy, do you like it?" Lillie asked, hearing a content Snowy.
"Vul!" said Snowy, cheerfully. Lillie laughs as she scratches Snowy's fur, but the look on her face changes when she faces Hobbes. "Ugh! Hobbes! What do you think you're doing?!" asked Lillie, irately. "Tell me!"
"I'm doing nothing at all!" Hobbes said, trying to play it off. "Just think of me as invisible. Now won't you please give us that nice smile of yours?"
"Not in your wildest dreams!" Lillie said in frustration, placing her hand over the camera lens. "Turn off the camera. And tell me what in the world you're up to!"
Soon enough, Hobbes tells her everything. "Mother, what were you thinking?!" screeched Lillie.
"Oh, my sweet dear." said Lusamine. "Is my little baby the tiniest bit mad?"
"I think I've made it clear I'm not a baby." said Lillie. "Please stop giving Hobbes strange requests!"
"I do beg your forgiveness….." said Hobbes, feeling guilty.
"But how can you blame me? I mean, you are able to touch Pokémon." said Lusamine. "Any mother would want to see what her daughter is up to!"
"Stop it!" demanded Lillie. "If you want that, you should simply come here!"
"I guess that's true, but…." said Lusamine.
"It's always the same old thing…." said Lillie when suddenly the phone on Lusamine's end rings.
"Excuse me a second, dear." she said, then answers the phone. "Yes, this is Lusamine. Oh, of course I remember!"
"Never mind!" screamed Lillie as Lusamine becomes shocked. "If work is so important to you, then I'd rather you not bother me at all! GOOD BYE!"
Lillie turns off the screen, ending the video call and sighs. "I'm going out for a while, Hobbes." said Lillie.
"As you wish, Lillie." replied Hobbes.
At Aether Paradise, Lusamine stares at the blackened screen and sighs. At Kukui's house, Burnet was running tests on Nebby while everyone watches. "There. I'm all done." said Burnet as she finishes typing.
"And that concludes the tests." said Rotom.
"You did very well. Thanks for your help." Burnet said to Nebby, who then unhooks itself from the wires as it spins around.
"Hey, check it out. Nebby really likes Professor Burnet." said Ash.
"Yeah, it sure does look that way." said Kukui.
"That's so sweet." Burnet said to Nebby as it lands in her hand. "I look forward to our next data date. Now here's some star candy!"
"Can we move now?" Hayley asked, tied up in a chair with Meeko tied up next to her. "I think we're losing some blood flow to our arms and legs."
"Yeah! I'm starting to lose actual feeling in my paws." added Meeko and just then, the doorbell rang.
"I'll get it!" said Ash as Kukui goes over to untie Hayley and Meeko.
"Pika?" asked Pikachu.
"Alola!" said the others.
"Alola!" said Ash.
"Alola!" Hayley called out from the chair once Kukui freed her legs.
"Oh, look. The gang's all here." said Professor Burnet.
"Hey, Professor Burnet." said Lana.
"It's nice to see you!" said Lillie.
"Whats the professor doing here?" asked Sophocles.
"She was just finished giving Nebby a thorough checkup." said Rotom as he and Hayley appeared at the door.
"Right, and we're all done." said Burnet.
"Oh, yeah, why don't you join us, Professor Burnet?" asked Ash. "A sleepover. They're all sleeping here tonight."
"Please?" begged Hayley.
"Lucario?" begged Meeko.
"Great idea." said Sophocles.
"It sounds like fun!" said Lana.
"Not so fast." said Kukui. "The professor's a busy woman!"
"Pretty please with a cherry on top of a vanilla ice cream Bearticone?" asked Hayley, doing her best Growlithe eyes.
"Cario….Cario…." said Meeko, following suit.
"Oh no….please, not the Growlithe eyes." said Kukui as Burnet giggled at what Hayley and Meeko were doing to the poor man.
"But Professor Kukui….." said Hayley in a cute voice.
"Lucar…." said Meeko.
"Now, hold on a second." said Burnet as she checks her schedule. "Good. Great! It looks like I'm free, so count me in!"
"Huh?" said Kukui.
"All right!" said the kids.
"Works every time." said Hayley, high-fiving Meeko.
"I wonder how long it's been since my last sleepover…." said Burnet.
"This is going to be great." said Ash as he and Hayley led the others inside. "Come on in, everybody."
"Thanks so much." said the others.
"I'm sorry. Dragging you into this and for what Jordan and Meeko did." Kukui said to Burnet.
"No need for that! A sleepover sounds like fun." said Burnet. "Besides, how could I say no to those two. Hayley and Meeko are just too cute." Lycanroc, Emma and Litten were sleeping away in a corner.
"Steenee!"
"Pika!"
"What a huge aquarium." said Lana, watching Luvdisc and Corsola swim around.
"Hey, you've got a loft?" asked Sophocles.
"That's where Hayley and I sleep." said Ash.
"Wow, that's where I wanna sleep." said Sophocles.
"That would be great." said Mallow.
"For sure!" said Lana.
"Sounds like fun!" said Lillie.
"Wait. But we won't all fit….." said Sophocles.
"I know what we can do." said Hayley, giving her brother a knowing look.
"Let's have a contest, and the winners get the loft!" said Ash.
"A contest?" asked Sophocles.
"Like what, Ash and Hayley?" asked Mallow.
"Now, let's see…." said Ash, turning to Hayley.
"Not everyone can do what I can do, Ashy." said Hayley when Nebby flies past them excited that everyone was there. "There's a reason for that and you know it."
"I wonder what Nebby could be thinking about…." said Lillie.
"It wants to play hide and seek." said Ash. "Nebby loves to do that."
"We practice all the time." said Hayley.
"First, Nebby acts like it wants to be found….then teleports." Ash explains. "So, let's make that the contest. The first team to find Nebby wins!"
"Okay!" said Sophocles.
"Sounds like fun." said Mallow as Nebby squeals and teleports.
"It's gone!" said Kiawe.
"Nebby, we're coming to find you!" said Hayley in a sing-song voice.
"And we're off." said Ash.
"Right!" the others called out.
"Me! I know where Nebby is." said Lana.
"The contest is over that fast?" asked Sophocles.
"That's quicker than the usual hide and seek." said Hayley as Lana rushes over to Ash and Hayley's backpacks.
"Oh. I guess not." said Lana, only finding notebooks and a sleeping Rowlet.
"I've been playing Hide and Seek with Mimo so long that I've got it down to a science." said Kiawe, rushing into the kitchen and opening up a cabinet door, with a food item falling on his head.
"There! I'll just look under….." said Mallow, looking under the table. "I found it!"
Nebby squealed playfully and teleports away. "You gotta catch it for it to count." said Ash.
"I do?" asked Mallow. "You should've said that in the first place!"
"Don't worry, Mallow, I got it." said Hayley, punching her brother in the arm.
"I got a feeling about this spot…." said Sophocles.
"Lillie, anything over there?" asked Mallow.
"Nothing…." Lillie called out.
"Nope, my mistake." said Kiawe.
"Nothing over here." said Lana as she looks under a plant.
"I was so sure." said Sophocles.
"I think….they're having fun." said Kukui.
"You're right! That's a good thing!" said Burnet.
"Nebby?" Lillie called out when Snowy called out to her from in front of her hat. "What is it, Snowy?"
"Vulpix." said Snowy, staring at Lillie's hat. As Lillie lifts up her hat, Nebby pops out and jumps into her hands.
"Huh?" said Lillie as Nebby babbles and she then screams in fear.
"Pop, Pop, Pop." Popplio playfully said, chasing after Litten as Lillie, Lana and Mallow joined Hayley in the loft.
"It's like a tree house." said Mallow.
"It's amazing how high up we are." said Lillie.
"I know, right? Meeko and I always have to be careful going up and down the loft ladder." said Hayley.
"The skylight's wonderful." said Lana.
"I'm jealous." said Sophocles.
"We'll get it next time." said Ash.
"So, what do we do next?" asked Mallow.
"Well, since everybody's here…." said Professor Burnet. "how about a little game of Z-Move pose, One, Two, Three?"
"All right!" shouted the kids.
"Will you two be playing as well?" asked Lana.
"Sure! Is that a problem?" Burnet asked.
"Whoa! This is gonna be fun!" said Mallow.
"Now! Everybody ready?" asked Rotom.
"Ready as we'll ever be, Rotom." said Hayley.
"All set!" said Ash.
"Get ready for defeat, Professor." said Sophocles, looking at the Professor.
"Good! Be confident while you can!" said Kukui.
"'Kay, from the top, Rotom." said Ash.
"All right, I'll be calling every pose." replied Rotom. "And now, let the games begin!"
"Yeah!" said Kukui and Burnet.
"You're going down, big brother." said Hayley.
"Not gonna happen, little sister." said Ash and she scoffs.
"Here we go." said Rotom as he spins the first round. "Grass, Water, Water."
"Grass, Water, Water."
"Nicely done! Keep it up!" said Rotom.
"Winning this will be a breeze." said Sophocles.
"Okay, Rotom, keep 'em coming." said Ash.
"Pika!"
"Lucar!"
"Pop, Pop, Pop."
Pikachu, Popplio and Meeko ran over, wanting to join in on the fun. "Hey! So, you wanna get in, too?" asked Ash.
"Wanna play, Meeko?" asked Hayley.
"Steen!" said Steenee.
"Turtonator." added Turtonator.
"On to the next one…." said Rotom. "Here it comes. Grass, Fire Grass!"
"Grass, Fire Grass!"
"Pikachu! Lucario."
"Grass, Water, Grass!" Rotom called out as Lana looks down at Popplio.
"Grass, Water, Grass!"
"Oh." said Lana.
"Pop?" asked Popplio.
"I kind of messed up." said Lana.
"Me too…" said Sophocles.
"And that means Lana and Sophocles are out." said Rotom.
"How easy can it get?" chuckled Ash.
"We'll get 'em next time." Lana said to Popplio.
"Pop." Popplio assured her.
"We still got a long way to go." said Rotom. "Water, Water, Grass!"
"Water, Water, Grass!"
"Grass, Water, Grass!" Rotom called out.
"Grass, Water, Grass!"
"Grass, Grass, Grass!" said Rotom.
"Grass, Grass, Grass!" said Ash and Hayley, having a sibling moment when others said the Z-Move.
"It's Bloom Doom!"
"Incorrect! You're out." said Rotom.
"At least I tried." said Hayley sitting with Meeko.
"Lucario." said Meeko.
"When all three match, you say the Z-Move." said Mallow.
"I guess I forgot." said Ash.
"You both took your eye off the ball." said Kiawe.
"Get ready, because now we're heading into our speed round." Rotom said to the remaining players. "And! Water, Grass, Fire!"
"Water, Grass, Fire!"
"Grass, Grass, Fire!" Rotom called out.
"Grass, Grass, Fire!"
"Water, Water, Grass!" said Rotom.
"Water, Water, Grass!"
"Grass, Water, Grass!" said Rotom.
"Grass, Water, Grass!"
"They're fast." said Lana.
"Fire, Fire, Fire!" Rotom said.
"Inferno Overdrive!" said the remaining players when suddenly, Kiawe goes into Z-Move mode.
"Right! Inferno Overdrive!" he shouted.
"Turtonator!" bellowed Turtonator and suddenly black smoke billowed from underneath the house from the Z-Move.
"That was a little too fired up." said Ash.
"You said it, Ash. We're going to be feeling scorched for a couple of days, if not a week at best." said Hayley.
"Pika. Lucar." said Pikachu and Meeko as all four of them coughed out a small bit of smoke as Hayley and Meeko fall to the floor.
"I am sorry." said Kiawe.
"Turto." said Turtonator with his head hung down.
"Me too." said Rotom as Nebby playfully appears, smiling and giggling. Kiawe was holding a couple of towels while everyone cleaned themselves up. "Well, that was heated…." said Rotom as Kukui wiped off the smoke.
"I never, ever expected an actual Z-Move!" said Mallow as Burnet brushed Lillie's hair.
"Meeko, stop that!" said Hayley as she and Meeko were still waiting for the smoke to be rubbed off their faces.
"No I will not, Hayley. There will be karma!" grumbled Meeko, glaring at Kiawe.
"I'm really, very sorry." said Kiawe.
"There. All done." said Burnet.
"Thank you very much." said Lillie.
"No sweat. It was my pleasure." said Burnet. "And now I think…I'd better get started on dinner."
"You're a guest. I wouldn't think of it." said Kukui as he helps Hayley and Meeko get the smoke off their faces.
"It's the least I can do in light of your generous hospitality." said Burnet as Hayley and Meeko start to giggle.
"Shush." said Ash looking at his sister and trying to hide his smile.
"I suppose if you insist." said Kukui.
"Great! I do!" she said.
"Professor, may I help you out?" Mallow asked.
"Us too!" said Ash and Hayley.
"Oh? You sure?" Burnet asked.
"I'd really like to help you, too!" said Lillie.
"Then you three older ones are my official helpers while this one and her partner…" said Burnet, picking Hayley up from the waist and wraps an arm around Meeko. "can be our official taste testers."
"All right!" said Ash, Lillie and Mallow.
"Taste taster?" Hayley mouthed to Meeko, who shrugged.
"Okay." said Kukui. "The rest of us are on room cleanup detail. After all, we can't really have a relaxing dinner with the room in this condition…."
"I can tell you've done this before, right?" Burnet asked Mallow.
"Many, many times." said Mallow.
"Me, too! This is my specialty…." said Ash as he tears apart some lettuce.
"Good grief." said Hayley as she and Meeko squeeze the juice out of Pinap Berries.
"Since when is that your specialty?" asked Meeko.
"It's looking good! Lillie, how about you?" Burnet asked.
"I'm getting ready to cut the vegetables." said Lillie with a knife in hand as she prepares to cut a carrot.
"You know how?" she asked, walking up behind her. "When you cut veggies with your right hand, your left hand…."
"You curl your fingers like a Litten paw, right?" asked Lillie.
"Perfect! What great technique!" beamed Burnet.
"You reminded me." Lillie tells Burnet. "I learned it from my mother a long time ago."
"Oh, I see." said Burnet.
"That's it! I'm all done." said Ash. "Can I put it on the bread?"
"It has to cool a bit first." said Mallow.
"Okay." said Ash as he reaches for a pitcher and fills it up with water for Hayley.
"I wonder if this will still taste good even if its mixed in with water." said Hayley, pouring the freshly squeezed Pinap Juice into the pitcher while Lillie cuts the carrot.
"Pika, Pika, Pika!" said Pikachu as he and Meeko rolled around on the now cleaned floor.
"Great! Good work, everyone!" said Kukui.
"Glad we're finally done with that…" said Sophocles.
"It sparkles." said Lana.
"I'm sorry I blew up your living room." said Kiawe, apologizing again.
"Turto…" said Turtonator.
"Kitchen Crew?" Kukui asked, facing the kitchen.
"Now can I?" Ash asked as Hayley stirs the pitcher's contents.
"No, after it cools I said." Mallow reminded him.
"Seems like they need more time." said Kukui as Hayley pops a piece of carrot in her mouth.
"Professor Kukui? Mind if I watch some TV?" Sophocles asked.
"Of course. Why not?" He said.
"All right! Because it's time for Professor Oak's 'Gotta catch the Pokémon Poems' program." said Sophocles, turning on the TV.
"I'll now teach you the tricks of the trade for making even better Pokémon poems." said Professor Oak when suddenly the channel changed.
"Hey! I was watching Professor Oak!" Sophocles said to Rotom.
"But now is when we always watch reruns of Alolan Detective Laki." said Rotom.
"But you've seen this before!" whined Sophocles.
"So?!" screamed Rotom when the channel changed to a fishing lure in the water.
"The once in a lifetime finals of Alolan Fishing Dreams are happening, and I've been waiting to see them for so long!" said Lana as a Milotic appeared out of the water when the channel gets changed again.
"It's time for more sweat, tears and guts than should be allowed on TV!" said Kiawe, staring at the TV screen. "A moment when people and Pokémon combine in glittering displays of cooperation. And victory!"
"Come on, you just wanna watch Pokémon base!" said Sophocles. "I wanna watch Pokémon Poems."
"No, it's Laki time!" said Rotom.
"No, Fishing Dreams!" said Lana.
"Pokémon Base!" said Kiawe.
"Oh my god, the four of you are worse than me and Ash combined." muttered Jordan, not knowing the Burnet heard her. "And that's good on most days."
"Poems!" shouted Sophocles.
"Laki!" shouted Rotom.
"Fishing!" shouted Lana.
The four growled at each other until a player walks up onto the field. "Here we are, bases loaded, two outs, and the batter is Oluolu!" said the announcer.
"Pika! Pop! Lucario!"
"He's this season's MVP for sure." said Kukui, watching Oluolu up at bat as Munchlax hopped up on the table, jumping excitedly.
"I knew it." said Sophocles. "Munchlax is cheering for the evolved form, Snorlax."
Electabuzz winds up its pitch and throws towards Oluolu. "A hit!" said Kiawe as Oluolu knocks it into the left field.
"It's Snorlax's Pulverizing Pancake Move!" said Rotom as Snorlax quickly ran the bases with its Z-Move.
"Wow! Look at that!" said those watching Pokémon base.
"Munchlax! Munchlax!" cheered Munchlax.
"I've gotta say, Oluolu was really cool." said Sophocles as the sun sets outside.
"A magnificent game." said Kiawe.
"Munchlax!" said Munchlax.
"Here we go!" said Burnet.
"Huh?"
"Wow, does that look good." said Sophocles.
"Of course it does." said Hayley, placing a hand on her hip. "We cooked it with love."
"And there's so much!" said Kiawe.
"The sandwiches are my specialty." said Ash as Hayley shakes her head with a smile on her face.
"And it was Lillie who made the yummy soup." said Mallow.
"Yes, but….it was because of Mallow's help." said Lillie.
"Hayley even made Pinap Juice." said Ash.
"I don't how you'll react to it, but at least try it first before passing judgement." said Hayley.
"On to the table." said Burnet.
"Right!" they said when suddenly, Munchlax gets a whiff of the food and rushes to it, eating everything in the bowls and plates. Munchlax even drank what was in the pitcher. It licks its lips as everyone stares in shock.
"Aww!" everyone screamed.
"Aww…man! What an awful time to be hungry…" said Sophocles.
"No kidding. Unlike Munchlax…." said Kiawe.
"That little food thief." said Hayley, glaring at a sleeping Munchlax.
"Munch…." said Munchlax, licking its lips again.
"Lucario…." grumbled Meeko. Nebby goes over to Ash and points to the container, holding the star candy. "Sure, of course." said Ash, taking out the container. "Here. Star candy." Nebby squeals as it happily eats the star candy.
"Please, Ash?" asked Sophocles, opening his mouth.
"What? Oh, you too?" asked Ash.
"You shouldn't." said Mallow. "The Professors will be back from shopping soon."
"Yeah, but…" said Sophocles as Mallow's stomach rumbled, causing the girls to giggle.
"Huh?" said Lillie as she sees Litten and Lycanroc go outside. Once outside, Litten and Lycanroc starts training together. "Look at that! Those two are training!" said Sophocles.
"Uh huh. The two of them have always been that way." said Ash. "Even back when Lycanroc was a Rockruff, they were doing that."
"What about those two?" asked Lana, as Emma and Harmony started doing synchronize movements with each other.
"They're training in a different way." said Hayley.
"So, the four of them are self-training." said Mallow.
"You should do that, too!" Kiawe said to Turtonator and Marowak.
"Marowak." Marowak said to Turtonator.
"Turto." Turtonator said in agreement.
"I really like this sort of stuff." said Sophocles as he, Lillie, Mallow and Lana watched the three train with their Pokémon. "I wouldn't mind trying that. You know? Seems fun."
"All right, how about it?" asked Lana.
"Huh?"
"Continue the training we did in Kanto." suggested Lana.
"Yeah, you're right!" said Lillie. "That sounds good to me, too."
"Why don't we all?" asked Mallow. "That way we'll be able to forget how totally hungry we are!"
"Yeah, let's do it!" said Sophocles. "I won't go easy on you!"
"Right!" said the girls.
"Togede!" squealed Togedemaru.
"Sorry for all the trouble I caused." said Burnet as she and Kukui walked from the store.
"No trouble at all. You're a really big help." said Kukui.
"That's sweet of you to say." said Burnet.
"Remember how pleased they were when you said you'd stay?" Kukui asked.
"They're really wonderful kids, you know?" replied Burnet.
"I do." said Kukui.
"I want to thank you!" Burnet said to Kukui.
"Hm?" he said in confusion.
"I feel just like I'm kid again." said Burnet.
"Uh…really?" asked Kukui. "That's nice. The carefree days of our youth!"
"Exactly." said Burnet. "Okay, kids. Professor Burnet's high-speed cooking specialties are now ready!"
"Wow, that's a lot." said Hayley.
"I'm sorry we're eating so late." said Burnet.
"We were all so busy training; we forgot the time." said Ash.
"Training? Like in battles?" asked Burnet.
"Yeah, you could say that…." said Mallow.
"I can't wait anymore. I'm starving." said Sophocles.
"I don't blame you. Okay, dig right in!" said Burnet.
"All right!" they shouted.
"This works for me." said Kiawe.
"It's great." said Ash.
"So crunchy and chewy!" said Lana.
"I've gotta learn how to make this." said Mallow.
"And there's plenty for seconds, so don't hold back!" said Burnet.
"Yay!" said the older kids.
"Not holding back doesn't mean eating too fast." Burnet said to Sophocles.
"I give up my seconds to whoever wants them." said Hayley, who was sitting at the counter, sniffing a piece of her food and scrunching her nose. "What I have on this plate is good enough for me."
"What is that?" asked Meeko, looking at Hayley's plate.
"You want some?" asked Hayley, holding out what she had.
"More please!" said Ash.
"Me, too!" said Kiawe.
"Okay, coming right up." said Burnet. Soon enough, everyone was done eating. Kukui and Burnet were down in the basement, talking while everyone was setting up their sleeping arrangements.
"That was really fun today." said Ash.
"It sure was." said Sophocles. "Though my stomach wasn't sure for a while…"
"All's well that ends well, that's what I say." said Kiawe.
"I have to say that maybe I misjudged Professor Burnet a little at first…." said Mallow
"She's not just cool, but nice." said Lana. "Dependable. She reminds me a little of my mom."
"She's not like my mom." said Kiawe. "My mom is a lot scarier than that."
"But the food you served when Hayley and I were there at your house is some of the best." said Ash as Hayley and Meeko came out of the bathroom.
"It all tasted homemade." said Mallow.
"Yeah…I guess." said Kiawe.
"Come to think of it, the malasadas at Sophocles' house were awesome." said Ash.
"Hey, thanks Ash." said Sophocles. "But I get bored of eating the same stuff. A guys likes a bit of variety sometimes."
"I agree." said Lana. "Say something's good and that's all they make."
"You got that right." said Ash.
"Hey, you guys! Don't be snobs!" said Mallow. "Think of all those hard-working cooks!"
"Snobs?! When you're sick of it, you're sick of it." said Sophocles.
"Did you brush your teeth?" asked Ash.
"Yes." said Hayley as she and Meeko rubbed their eyes.
"Why's Meeko wearing PJs?" asked Sophocles as Ash wipes the toothpaste from Hayley's mouth that was accidentally left behind.
"You know how there's a spike right here?" Ash asked as he places a tired Meeko on Hayley's back.
"Yeah." said Kiawe.
"Our mom made these PJs for her so that she doesn't poke Hayley while they sleep." Ash explained. "Meeko picked out the material."
"I think it looks beautiful on Meeko." said Lillie.
"I like it." said Mallow.
"Looks great." said Lana.
"Okay! Lights out, gang!" said Kukui.
"Right!" they said. The lights were out in Kukui's house as everyone was asleep. Kukui was on the couch, sleeping with Litten, Rotom and the boys. "Laki….I have your data." mumbled Rotom in his sleep.
Up in the loft, Burnet was sleeping in Ash's spot with the girls. That night, Hayley started tossing and turning, having another bad dream.
[Hayley's nightmare]
"No! Ash!" screamed Hayley, running towards her brother who was laying on the ground with Meeko.
"Pikachu!" screamed Pikachu, shocking Ash with his thunderbolt. "Pikachu!"
"Riolu!" said Meeko as tears start to form in her eyes. "Riolu! Riolu!"
"How dare you! Both of you!" Hayley screamed at Mew and Mewtwo. "Look at what you both did to my brother! You should be honored that you have some of its DNA! Not angry about it!"
[Nightmare ends]
"Hayley, it's okay." Meeko softly said to Hayley, waking her up.
"Hey. I'm okay, Meeko. I promise." said Hayley, rubbing Meeko's face, knowing that she sensed her distressed. "Let's go outside. I don't want to wake anyone up."
"Alright, let's go before anyone notices." said Meeko, nodding. Both of them climbed a ladder that was under the skylight, unknown that they caused Burnet to wake up.
"I got you, Meeko." said Hayley once she was through the skylight and takes Meeko's hand. Quietly scurrying across the roof, Hayley and Meeko made their way to the front, climbing down one of the rails.
A few seconds later, Lillie opens her eyes and sits up. "Vul?" Snowy asked Lillie. Lillie smiles at Snowy and climbs down the loft ladder, causing Burnet to look over her shoulder. Lillie was sitting on the log from earlier when Hayley places a hand on her shoulder.
"Huh? Hayley?" she asked, startled. "What are you doing up?"
"I had a nightmare and I didn't want to wake anyone up from me screaming in your ears." said Hayley.
"Oh. Okay." said Lillie as Hayley sits with Meeko not far from her in the sand and scratched Snowy's head.
[Flashback]
Lillie, with a smile on her face, held Clefa away from her as Gladion held Eevee. Lusamine smiles at her son and daughter.
Lillie is in the kitchen with Lusamine, cooking as Lusamine tells her how to cut an eggplant. At a table, Lusamine was helping Lillie.
[Flashback ends]
"I love the sound of waves." said Burnet, catching up to the two girls with a blanket over her arm.
"Professor Burnet!" gasped Lillie and Hayley.
"Listening to them just naturally calms the heart, don't you think?" she asked.
"I wouldn't know." said Hayley, staring out into the water.
"Lucario." said Meeko.
"But if it gets too quiet…." said Lillie. "I start remembering things."
"Really?" Burnet asked.
"Actually, I had an argument with my mom this morning. Oh. It wasn't anything big." Lillie said to Professor Burnet. "It's just that I get a little annoyed. The thing is, she thinks of no one but herself. I wonder when mother started doing that…"
"Your mother's a very busy woman, without a doubt." Burnet said to Lillie as they watched Hayley and Meeko draw in the sand. "I guess that means you go through a lot more than many daughters go through."
Hayley and Meeko start to shiver as the night breeze goes by. Burnet wraps the blanket around them. "But I'll tell you one thing." said Burnet. "I'm sure your mother loves you very much."
"I wish I was sure." said Lillie, honestly.
"You know I work with the Aether foundation, don't you?" asked Burnet. "Well, while I was there…."
[Flashback]
Burnet walks into Lusamine's office to see Lusamine staring at the pictures on her desk and wall of Gladion and Lillie.
[Flashback ends]
"Are you sure?" asked Lillie.
"Mm-hmm." Burnet nodded. "I always get the feeling that your mother would much rather spend all her time being with you and Gladion."
"Wow, you really think so?!" asked Lillie.
"Why don't you mention it the next time you talk?" Burnet suggested.
"Sure." Lillie said, with a smile on her face. Soon enough, Lillie and Burnet heard a couple of soft snores coming from Hayley and Meeko. Meeko was laying across Jordan's back as the blanket was wrapped over their heads with their faces showing.
"Mm….Meeko….Meeko" Hayley said softly, unconsciously grabbing a hold of Meeko's hand.
"Lucar….Lucario…" Meeko said to Hayley, snuggling into her trainer.
"They're so stinking cute." said Burnet as she and Lillie giggled at Hayley and Meeko.
"They are quite the pair when you think about it." said Lillie. "Especially when Hayley and Meeko chase Ash and Pikachu around."
"Thank you for everything." the kids said the next morning.
"Bye! Have a safe trip home." said Kukui.
"See you later." said Burnet.
"Okay." they said.
"I'm never falling asleep outside again unless I'm camping out with my brother." said Hayley. "I don't even remember being carried into the house."
"Neither do I." said Meeko.
"Let's walk them home! Kay?" asked Ash.
"Sure." said Hayley.
"Pika! Lucar!" said Pikachu and Meeko.
"We should really do this again sometime!" said Ash.
"Next time, we should have a sleepover somewhere else!" said Mallow.
"How about my house?" asked Sophocles. "Mom's cooking is really good!"
"It sure is." said Ash and Hayley.
"Let's do that." said Lana. Lillie was quiet, thinking about what Burnet had told her.
"Your mother would rather spend her time….being with you and Gladion." said Burnet.
"I wish I could talk to Gladion." Lillie said to herself as Nebby floats over to her when suddenly, it touches her hat, teleporting Lillie to her brother. Inside a cave, Lillie looks around, confused. "Whats this?" she asked before spotting her brother. "Gladion."
"Lillie?" Gladion asked, surprised that she was there. "Why are you here?"
"There's something I really want to talk to you about!" she tells him. "It's about Mother!"
"Silvally!" shouted Gladion as he jumps over him and towards Lillie. She then has a flashback of some unknown Pokémon attacking.
"Lillie!" Gladion called out as Silvally growls softly. Nebby then teleports her away from the cave, causing Gladion to gasp.
"There! Lillie's back now." said Lana.
"So, where did you go anyway?" Sophocles asked.
"Hey, what's wrong?" Ash asked as Lillie drops to her knees.
"Are you okay?" asked Mallow.
"Meeko, stay here." said Hayley as she walks up to Lillie. "Lillie, are you okay?" Lillie looks up at Hayley with fear in her eyes, causing the young girl to look up at her brother. "Uh-oh!" said Hayley.
"I can't believe it, but I just saw my brother…" said Lillie.
"You saw Gladion?" asked Ash.
"Along with….a Pokémon I never seen before…." said Lillie.
"Vul…" said Snowy, walking up.
"No, stop." said Lillie.
"Lillie. Are you…." said Kiawe.
"Mallow, can you hug Lillie for a moment while I talk to Ash?" Hayley asked, dragging her brother away from the group. "I think you and I will be needing a Team Rocket sendoff sometime today."
"Why?"
"Remember what we promised Gladion?" Hayley asked, reminding her brother.
"Oh no." said Ash and Hayley brings him down to her face.
"Yeah, that promise big brother! I made a list of people that I wanted to tell about Silvally. Lillie was on that list." Hayley said to gritted teeth. "I was going to show Gladion that list the next time we see him so that when he was ready, you and I would tell her. Judging by the look on her face, it seems that Nebby heard her say something about Gladion, teleported her there and she saw Silvally!"
"This is not good. This is not good at all." said Ash as he looks back at a terrified Lillie as he and Hayley walked back to the group.
"I don't know. Does….this mean….I can't touch Pokémon again?" asked Lillie.
"He's going to yell at us for sure." Ash whispered to Hayley.
"I'm officially scared of Gladion." said Hayley.
