'All I'm saying is that your kicks suck,' Marvin told him as Izuku hit the heavy bag again.
"OK, fine. How would you do it?" Izuku sighed, stepping back from control.
Marvin stepped forward and threw a sharp backkick.
The kick landed like a gunshot, even without One for All.
The bag flew back, swinging from its chain and nearly hitting the ceiling.
It came back down, and Marvin let it slam into his body, stopping it effortlessly.
"The power comes from the hips; you're relying on your legs too much," Marvin said before stepping back.
"You know, I will never get used to you two switching," Momo said from where she watched them, holding her chin in her hands.
Izuku grinned at her. "Neither do we. It's still disorienting, especially when we do it consistently like this, but we manage."
He stretched his hands above his head, smiling a little as Momo flushed and looked away.
"Are you rested yet?" He asked, and Momo nodded.
She stood quickly. "I'm getting better at recovery," She told him, lifting her shirt to wipe some sweat away.
Izuku flushed, averting his gaze quickly and looking back at the heavy bag.
Momo smirked a little, throwing a small steel ball she'd made when she lifted her shirt.
Izuku's body snapped into movement before he knew what'd happened, kicking the ball into the ceiling and summoning Blackwhip.
'Good, your senses are getting better,' Marvin told him as they began to share control. 'Still needs work.'
Blackwhip lashed out, and Momo jumped over them, creating a staff in a second.
She beat away a few tendrils, spinning her staff quickly.
Momo jumped back, creating a large capture grenade and throwing it.
Izuku dodged, backflipping to avoid a knife she'd thrown.
He rushed her with Blackwhip, getting in close and punching.
Momo ducked and spun, hitting Izuku in the side before jumping back.
Izuku leaped with Blackwhip, avoiding the flashbangs before pulling himself down.
He leaped to the side, avoiding an electric grenade, and jumped back from another flashbang.
'She won't let us get close,' Izuku realized, using Blackwhip to stop a net.
'She knows we don't have many long-range options,' Marvin replied. 'Not unless we get serious.'
Izuku dodged to the left, pulling himself with Blackwhip as more electric grenades reached his feet.
'And she knows I wouldn't do that to her,' Izuku said, using Blackwhip to send a flashbang back.
Momo kept her distance, throwing flashbangs and other grenades to keep Izuku away.
She paused, sending several flashbangs at him before concentrating.
Her body glowed, her Quirk activating throughout her body.
Momo gritted her teeth and took a deep breath before releasing her creations simultaneously.
'Super Move: Creative Night!"
Izuku covered his eyes as thick smoke exploded into the training room. It was so dense he could barely see his hands, and tears formed at the corner of his eyes.
'Hydrogen Sulphide,' Marvin hissed, noticing the rotten egg smell. 'Low enough to not cause permanent damage, but high enough to irritate our eyes, incredible.'
Izuku jumped back as Momo swung her staff, and through his teary eyes, he could see a gas mask on her face.
"What is this?" Izuku coughed, blocking her staff and jumping back.
"Standard smokescreen mixed with a tiny amount of Hydrogen Sulphide," Momo replied, throwing a flashbang. "Like it?"
Izuku closed his eyes, relying on Marvin's senses to tell him where Momo was.
He jumped around, barely dodging a few nets Momo had set to cover a wider area.
Momo reached him, sword in hand, and began slashing, coming dangerously close to cutting his skin.
Izuku twisted under the sword, smashing it with a punch before kicking at her head.
Momo jumped back, avoiding it, but for a moment, the air cleared, and Izuku could breathe again.
She set off more electric grenades, and Izuku leaped away with Blackwhip, quickly forming a plan.
Izuku charged One for All to 35%, and with Marvin's guidance, he punched the air.
The wind blew the smoke away, but Izuku was forced to dodge wildly as nets shot out from every direction.
He used Blackwhip liberally to avoid getting caught, launching himself in random directions as fast as possible.
Marvin forced him into the air barely in time to avoid another net.
The two fell, and Izuku launched himself at Momo with Blackwhip, avoiding some more nets.
He sliced through her staff with a single chop, breaking her sword before advancing.
Momo tumbled back as he punched her in the stomach, her creations returning to her body as her Quirk deactivated.
Izuku froze as he saw Momo vomit slightly, and Marvin collapsed from the control as the shock jarred them back into their senses.
He moved before he could think, reaching Momo and holding her body in his arms.
"Momo?" He asked, holding her head up as the girl coughed. He removed the gas mask she still wore, letting her breathe properly.
Momo groaned. "You lost control," She whispered, holding her stomach in pain.
Izuku scooped her up, taking her to Recovery Girl while silently cursing himself for his carelessness.
He burst into Recovery Girl's office, Blackwhip lashing violently around him as he tried to control his emotions.
Izuku stepped back as Recovery Girl worked, holding back tears as he stared at his shoes. He'd lost control, after so many hours of practice, he'd lost control and hurt someone he loved.
Momo squeezed his hand after Recovery Girl healed her.
"Hey, it's OK," She whispered, squeezing his hand tightly. "I know you didn't want to hurt me."
Izuku sighed heavily as he sat beside her bed, laying his head on hers.
"You're lucky you used your Quirk when you did," Recovery Girl said, gesturing to Momo. "You had a bruised rib and stomach instead of a shattered ribcage and internal organs."
Izuku paled drastically, staring at Momo's stomach. He'd nearly ruptured her organs?
Marvin sat heavily in Izuku's mind, feeling some sort of dark dread creep up on him. It had been his strength that'd allowed Izuku to use One for All more, and it was his skill that allowed them to hit Momo. It'd been him, not anyone else, him.
He knew what it was like to kill someone, and he knew the horror of killing someone you loved. To think he'd nearly made Izuku go through what he did... all for a bit more strength, it left a bitter taste in his mouth.
"How?" Izuku asked Momo weakly, suddenly feeling helpless as he stared at her.
Momo somehow still smiled at him. "The stomach is one of the most vulnerable places on the body, and I saw you fighting Stain; you went for the stomach and chest often, so I centralized my crystal armor there, just in case. It shattered when you hit it, but I could reabsorb them since they were still in my body."
"I don't deserve you," He whispered, burning-hot tears streaming down his face.
"Nonsense," Momo replied, letting go of his hand and brushing his cheek. "It's you I don't deserve."
"How?" Izuku asked. "I hurt you so badly you almost had ruptured organs. I hit you so hard you could've died."
"But you didn't mean to," Momo whispered in his ear, brushing away his tears. "And that's all that matters."
She gently kissed his temple, stroking his hair lovingly, but Izuku felt horrible. He'd nearly given her a life-threatening injury, and instead of him consoling her about it, she was comforting him.
"I'm sorry," He croaked, tears falling down her face despite his closed eyes. "I'm so sorry, Momo."
"Shh, it's OK," Momo whispered, cupping his face gently. "I still love you the same way I did yesterday, and I'll continue to do so. There's nothing that'll change that. Just, Izuku, one thing?"
"Anything," Izuku replied, squeezing her hand. He was ready to burn the world and himself if she told him to.
"Don't do that again; it hurts a lot," Momo laughed a little before wincing at the pain in her ribs.
"Never again," Izuku whispered to her through tears. "Never."
Momo smiled at him before she closed her eyes, enjoying his warmth. Even the tears that flowed down her face felt warm to her, and she couldn't help but smile at how much she loved the boy she was holding.
Marvin was lost in memories; they weren't pleasant, just as most of his memories were, but this one hit the hardest.
He watched as the doctors took away the body, feeling like someone had drained him of every emotion he had.
"I'm sorry," A doctor said to him. "But she's dead."
Marvin nodded mutely, not entirely hearing the doctor, even with his enhanced hearing.
He approached the body against the medical team's wishes, staring at the mangled corpse for what felt like the hundredth time in the last two hours.
He traced the four portions that were now Rinai's face, committing the horrible image to his memory. It was the memory of who he was now, of the last part of his humanity dying.
"You always said I wasn't a monster, Rinai," Marvin whispered. "Is that what you think now? Am I still your little brother to you?"
Marvin stared at the body, almost as if hoping it'd sit up and respond that, yes, he was still her brother.
But Rinai stayed dead, and Marvin felt like he'd died along with her, even though his heart continued as usual.
But Marvin had died, and there was only Ghost, the Hunter's Hunter, the Bane of the Dead, and the Demon's God.
Marvin was dead, and only the monster remained, only the soldier and not the man.
He stared at his hands, clean to the outsider's eye, but to him, they still dripped with blood so red it was nearly black. His fingers were still wrapped around the knife to him, and his nails still had clots under them.
"I have always been a monster, Rinai," Marvin whispered. "I'm sorry you were the last to see it. You should have let them kill me, then you could've enjoyed life with Mom and Dad; wow, I can barely remember them anymore. But you should've been with them, lived your life, found someone, and settled down. That Ribon guy was nice."
He shuffled away, his face emotionless as he stared straight ahead. People tried to stop him, ask him questions, and get his opinion, but Marvin stared at them until they cowered and ran away. Being a monster had its advantages.
Marvin sighed, opening his eyes to see Izuku still cuddling Momo, and he felt a hot flash of anger in his chest. Why couldn't he have that? Why was his life filled with so much suffering? Did he not deserve happiness?
He froze suddenly before relaxing. No, he didn't. Monsters were killed, slain, displayed on murals, and told in the stories of Heroes as things to be feared; monsters didn't get happy endings. What they got was fear, maybe sometimes anger or pity, but never happiness.
When he was much younger, Beauty and the Beast was his favorite story. It gave him hope; even a monster like him could be happy if he waited.
But the years passed, nobody came, nobody cared. His sister tried to give him hope, saying that someday, someone would show up, but as he grew older, he knew it was just to amuse him, to keep him busy from his ever-growing loneliness.
Marvin let himself sink into Izuku's mind, closing his eyes and looking for One for All. Maybe Nana could spar him again? That seemed fun at the moment.
He wandered through One for All, managing to find the space relatively quickly now that he knew what it felt like.
Marvin floated around aimlessly, pushing his emotions deep into himself to prevent his anger from escaping.
"Goddammit," He hissed as pain flared in his chest.
He could push his emotions into his aura to increase its power and make him emotionless, but his aura had severe drawbacks.
If he kept pushing his emotions into his aura to release them and maintain himself emotionless, it would eventually create a backlash. His feelings would snap back at him, magnitudes worse than what they'd been when he released them, capable of even hurting him. He'd had a heart attack from it more than once.
"This is so fun," He gasped as he fell to his knees, his emotions snapping back at him with fierce anger.
Even still, Marvin pushed his emotions into his aura, refusing to let himself feel. The last time he had, he'd ended up killing his sister.
The pain flared, and Marvin screamed silently, his muscles tightening painfully as his body began to spasm.
"Fuck," He whispered, trying to ignore it. If he neglected it, it would go away; that's how it always worked.
Marvin froze as he felt a hand on his back. He spasmed, trying to get away from whoever was touching him.
The person grabbed his wrists as he tried to punch, and his eyes widened even as he couldn't see. They'd found him; he was going to die here like a coward, alone inside someone's mind.
Marvin tensed, preparing for the punch, the blade, the gunshot, anything.
But it never came.
Marvin let himself feel for a moment; his vision cleared for a second, and he froze.
"Hey, kid," Nana told him, holding him down even as he tried to rip away from her.
He threw his head around, hissing as he tried to cover his neck; no one could see that, no one could see his weakness.
Nana touched the base of his neck, and Marvin froze, his eyes wide as he stared at her like a wild animal.
His breathing was ragged and heavy, and his body shook violently, but not from pain.
From fear.
She was touching his weak spot; if she pressed hard enough, she could send him into a coma or even kill him without effort.
Marvin squeezed his eyes shut, bracing himself.
"Do it," He whispered. "Just, please, get it over with."
Nana pulled, and for a second, Marvin tensed, believing she was going to torture him; it wouldn't have been the first time he'd experienced it.
Instead, she pulled him into a hug, and Marvin spasmed, fighting a little as his senses were overloaded with sensations he didn't know how to name.
Nana held onto him tightly, eyes squeezed shut, tears rolling down her face, as Marvin covered his neck with both hands, his breathing heavy.
Eventually, he stopped spasming, stopped resisting, and just laid there in Nana's embrace, his entire body shaking like a wet rat as he felt the pain in his chest return.
He couldn't speak; his words were caught in his throat. The pain was too great, and his emotions were getting the better of him after so long.
Tears rolled down his face, and for the first time in literal years, Marvin uncovered his neck, bowing his head into Nana's chest, eyes closed, showing his only weak spot to her without restriction.
Nana stared at the star-shaped scar on the base of his neck, right at the top of his thoracic curve. A single hit there would kill him instantly, and he showed it to her without hesitating as his shoulders shook from his sobs.
She ran her hand over it gently and sobbed louder as Marvin relaxed in her arms as she brushed the spot.
Marvin was confused. Why wasn't she killing him? He wasn't about to lie; the sensation of her brushing his weak spot felt better than he'd want to admit, and he couldn't hide how red his face was from the soft gesture, but he was still confused. Showing your weak spot to someone was essentially an invitation to kill, so why wasn't she taking it?
"I'm not going to kill you," Nana whispered, drawing on her motherly instincts to calm him. "You're safe here."
Slowly, ever so painfully slowly, Marvin raised his arms, hesitating for several moments before they wrapped around her and pulled tightly.
Marvin spasmed again as the pain flared, but it was quieter this time; the pain was gentler, and he didn't have to grit his teeth as much. It felt... good?
"Is this what a hug feels like?" He asked, his whisper so soft that Nana strained to hear him.
The last hug he'd gotten was from Rinai just a day before her death, back when he was fourteen. Since then, everyone else was too scared to.
Nana's heart broke at his words, and she held him tighter, still rubbing the weak spot gently.
"Yes," She whispered. "This is what a hug feels like."
Marvin felt like a dam had broken, and the words couldn't stop themselves from coming out.
"Izuku talks about them a lot," He murmured. "I've never been a fan of touch."
Nana chuckled a little. "You're hugging me tightly for someone who doesn't like being touched."
Marvin blushed dark red, even his ears turning red, but he didn't let go; the feeling felt too good. He wanted to savor it, not knowing when he could get it again.
"Maybe you just didn't find the right person yet?" Nana suggested.
Marvin felt odd; was this what a mother felt like? He didn't know; his had died when he was four, and Rinai never could talk about them much without crying. If it was, he understood why so many people said they couldn't live without their mothers. If it were up to him, he'd do almost everything like this; how did people get embarrassed by hugs?
Marvin shrugged as the two sat down, drawing his knees to his chest and leaning on Nana as she played with his hair.
The act of gentle affection made him cry again, and he drew his knees almost painfully tight as he bit his tongue to prevent a sob.
"I don't think I can find the right person," Marvin choked out, gesturing to his body. "One, I'm in Izuku's body. Two, I'm a monster."
"Don't say that," Nana rebuked him gently, somehow not raising her voice.
Marvin did a double take; where was the yelling? The slaps? Rinai would often do that if he called himself a monster, often with whatever was in her hand at the time. She hit him with a sword once; he still had the scar.
He stared at her with wide eyes, unknowingly looking like a small child, causing Nana's heart to squeeze painfully.
"You're not a monster. You never were," She told him, watching his eyes light up, and tears form in the corners.
Marvin ducked his head, hiding his face as tears threatened to escape.
"Yes, I am," He whispered. "Everyone back home knew this."
"Well, everyone back home was wrong," Nana said firmly, yet somehow not unkindly.
"I-" Marvin couldn't form words; it was like someone had stolen his speaking ability.
"You're not a monster," Nana hissed, stroking his hair. "You have a gift to inspire and help people. Monsters don't do that."
Inspire? What could he inspire, people trying to kill him? He'd never been a leader, and his actions hurt more than they helped.
His mind flashed to Izuku and Momo, and his heart constricted painfully; he'd hurt not only his friend but his friend's girlfriend, too. His strength and skill had caused Izuku to lose control and hit Momo with enough power to kill if she hadn't protected herself.
"If you think you're a monster, that's all you will be," Nana told him. "But if you think you're a Hero, then you're a Hero. Your words change you much more than any label could."
Marvin sighed, letting his emotions rush into him as his eyes became heavy. He felt exhausted but tried to shake it off; he couldn't fall asleep.
"Shh, it's OK," Nana whispered, rubbing his weak spot. "No one will judge you for sleeping."
"Just... Just for a little while," Marvin muttered as his eyelids became too heavy to open.
His world went dark as he fell asleep, but he didn't feel nervous anymore. It felt nice to fall asleep now; was it supposed to feel this way?
"Just for a little while," Nana nodded with a smile as he rested his head on her lap.
Marvin reminded Nana of herself during her early Hero days: cold and determined, unwilling to let anyone in or anyone to see her weakness. Toshinori and Grand Torino had changed that, along with her husband, showing her that being a Hero meant much more than saving people physically.
"He needs to find someone," She muttered, rubbing his neck gently. She didn't know if it was possible to remove Marvin from Izuku's body, but if he was put in here, then he had to be able to be taken out.
The world faded away, and Nana began to disappear, still only able to appear for short moments to the holder. Marvin subconsciously covered his neck with his shirt, hiding the scar tightly as he shivered a little, feeling the removal of warmth.
Izuku sighed as he felt Marvin reappear in his mind. Apparently, time worked massively differently inside One for All than in the outside world. When Izuku met Nana, what felt like half an hour to him was only a few minutes outside.
Now, however long Marvin had been gone, it had taken a few hours, and Izuku was suited up for his Final Exam.
Momo was beside him, her lower ribs and upper stomach wrapped tightly in bandages and leaning on him slightly, but besides that, there was no evidence of their training accident.
"I'm sorry," Izuku whispered into her hair.
Momo rolled her eyes with a smile. "It's OK, Izuku. I forgive you if that's what you want to hear."
She looked up to whisper in his ear. "Is Marvin going to help you here?"
Izuku shook his head. "Marvin's out. I'm not sure what happened, but it caused him to go to sleep. It's just me."
Momo smiled and kissed his cheek, causing him to blush profusely.
"For good luck," She whispered as the teachers arrived.
Mina caught her eye, raising an eyebrow at her. She winked, and Mina grinned, nodding before turning to the teachers.
"This will be your practical exam," Aizawa began. "Where you will be facing-"
"Robots!" Mina and Denki exclaimed.
"Incorrect!" Nezu replied cheerfully, popping out from Aizawa's scarf.
The entire class froze at that; if it wasn't robots, what were they facing?
"Due to the increase in villain activity, we teachers have decided that robotic simulations aren't good enough to prepare you," Nezu explained.
He gestured to the UA teachers. "For your Final Exam, you will be facing us!"
"What?" 1-A exclaimed simultaneously.
Nezu nodded. "Originally, we were going to have two students face a teacher, but recent developments showed that doing so would be insufficient."
He gave a pointed look to Izuku and Momo, causing the pair to flush before continuing.
"So, we have decided all of you will be facing against all of us!" Nezu finished cheerfully, much to the dread of 1-A.
"Isn't that a little unfair?" Momo asked. "You all are Pro Heroes."
Nezu smiled. "If I remember correctly, there are two Pro Heroes in your class, so you all will be fine!"
"You will be graded off a point system, where each teacher you defeat is worth a certain number of points," Nezu continued. "But due to our different strengths, you must defeat all but one of us or the highest point teacher to pass."
"And who's the highest point teacher?" Shoto asked, slightly nervous at the answer.
"I AM HERE," All Might exclaimed as he landed with a resounding boom. "TO TEST YOU!"
"Oh, great," Kaminari moaned, looking dejected. "Either we beat everyone but All Might or have to defeat the strongest Hero in the world."
"That is correct!" Nezu replied with a smile.
All Might laughed. "Don't worry, Young Kaminari. All of us teachers will have handicaps placed on us to limit our Quirks and give you a fighting chance."
Izuku was panicking, hoping Marvin would wake up soon to help him. There was no way he could fight the teachers without him, even if he could use Blackwhip easier now.
They were in the arena, and Izuku was on high alert, his palms sweating as he tried to devise a plan. The training area was a mix of the rest, with a forest section, an open section, a factory section, and a city section.
"Well, Midoriya?" Kaminari asked. "What's the plan?"
"M-me?" Izuku asked, taken aback.
"Well, duh," Mina said. "You and Yaomomo are the ones with Licenses, and Yaomomo doesn't have the same level of planning."
Momo snorted a little. "When it comes to others," She muttered, knowing Izuku would throw himself into a situation without thinking if he was alone.
Izuku's mind ran, and his eyes darted around, trying to figure out which Quirks could be the most helpful.
He paused. "Wait," He said, beginning to walk around the area.
"Izuku, what are you doing?" Momo asked as Izuku picked up a small electronic device.
"Listening bug," Izuku replied, crushing it in his hand. "I was always taught to check my surroundings; people have different kinds of ears."
Momo raised an eyebrow and nodded, recognizing that Izuku was talking about Marvin teaching him.
Izuku destroyed two more bugs while his mind worked furiously to devise a plan.
"OK, here's the plan," Izuku said, turning to them.
"Shoji, Tsu, Hagakure, and Ojiro," He pointed to each of them. "Find and beat Aizawa Sensei. His Erasure can't erase mutant-type Quirks like yours."
"Jiro, Koda, and Sero," He continued. "You will fight Present Mic since Jiro can counter his sonic attacks, Sero can tape him if needed, and Mic is scared of bugs, from what I know."
The students nodded, getting into their groups, and Izuku turned to the rest of 1-A.
"Kaminari, Ashido, and Tokoyami," Izuku stated. "Find Ectoplasm. Kaminari can fry his clones, Ashido can burn them, and Tokoyami is good at fighting multiple opponents."
"Kirishima and Sato will fight Thirteen," He said. "Due to the close-quarters nature of your Quirks, she can't use her Blackhole effectively without injuring you."
"Iida, Aoyama, and Mineta will fight Cementoss," Izuku told them, causing the class to double-take. "They have the greatest levels of agility beyond Sero and me. Aoyama can destroy Cementoss's creations, and Iida can take out Cementoss quickly."
"Uraraka and Momo," He turned. "You two can take on Midnight. Her Quirk is less effective on women, and her hand-to-hand isn't good.
Izuku took a deep breath. "Todoroki and Bakugo will fight All Might. I'll take care of Power Loader and Snipe since I know the most about their Quirks, and then I'll go and help fight All Might."
Bakugo sucked his teeth. "We don't need your help, nerd."
'Just when I thought he was becoming nice,' Izuku sighed.
"Bakugo, All Might is the strongest Hero in the world," Todoroki said. "We'll need all the help we can get to beat him."
Bakugo scoffed but didn't say anything.
"Wait, what about Principal Nezu?" Uraraka asked.
Izuku felt a surprising amount of confidence as he grinned. "He's most likely sitting outside the main line of fire. I can find him, along with Snipe and Power Loader, before going to where All Might is."
1-A looked nervous but set off in their groups, heading in various directions.
"Three people, Izuku?" Momo whispered. "I know you and Marvin can fight well, but are you sure?"
Izuku smiled at her. "I'm sure Momo. And it's just me right now; Marvin is still asleep."
Momo nodded before quickly running after Uraraka in search of Midnight.
Izuku launched off, using Blackwhip to traverse the arena. His eyes darted around, looking for trouble.
An explosion set off in the distance, and Izuku could hear All Might's booming laugh. He hoped Bakugo and Todoroki would be alright.
His eyes widened as a construction crane suddenly spun in his direction, and only a quick use of Blackwhip stopped him from getting hit.
Izuku twisted, launching in the direction of the crane's control room.
He crashed through the glass but paused as Nezu wasn't there as he hoped.
"Ah, so you've found the crane; excellent work," Nezu's voice chirped from a speaker nearby. "Unfortunately, I'm too smart to be found that easily."
Izuku launched out of the crane after smashing the control panel, his eyes darting around.
A large piece of steel flew at his head, and Izuku twisted.
He kicked it higher into the air, using Blackwhip to launch himself at where the steel had come from.
Izuku landed roughly near the equipment, but there was no sign of Nezu anywhere.
'He wants me to tire myself out,' Izuku realized. 'These are all remote controlled. Nezu isn't in any of them.'
Izuku leaped into the air with Blackwhip, deciding to find Snipe instead.
Nezu smiled as he watched Izuku launch in another direction. He'd hoped the ruse would've worked a tad longer, but it was no matter.
"Pro Hero: Midnight has been eliminated," A robotic voice sounded throughout the testing grounds. "Class 1-A has accumulated 15 of 135 points to pass."
'Good, Momo and Uraraka work well together,' Izuku smiled as he swung through the air.
Izuku felt something shift using his rudimentary senses, and he twisted, barely avoiding a bullet.
He launched himself out of Snipe's line of sight, knowing staying visible was the worst idea he could have.
Izuku stared at the building Snipe was in, trying to find an entrance that wasn't the one Snipe was guarding.
'That's the only entrance,' Izuku thought as he landed nearby, still out of sight.
Izuku thought a little before grinning. 'The only ready-made entrance anyway.'
Snipe was cautious; he'd been warned of Midoriya by the other teachers and knew the kid was intelligent.
So, when Izuku broke the back wall with a kick, he was ready.
Snipe turned, firing three bullets through the dust cloud that had formed but hit nothing.
The dust cleared, and Snipe paused as there was nobody there.
Another hole formed to his left, and Snipe fired again, hitting nothing.
'This kid's trying to surround me,' Snipe thought, but he didn't have a counter for it; his Quirk was based on sight.
Izuku burst through the wall behind him, and Snipe was firing before his eyes registered anything.
Izuku leaped back, jumping to the roof and out of Snipe's line of sight.
'One shot,' Izuku thought, attaching Blackwhip to the top of the main entrance.
He collected wind under his feet, jumping as he tightened Blackwhip as much as possible.
He pulled hard, quickly swinging into the building with a resonating boom.
Snipe could barely turn before Izuku's foot hit him in the jaw, knocking him to the ground.
Izuku cuffed him quickly, breathing heavily as he stared at the teacher.
"Pro Hero: Sniper has been eliminated," The robotic voice returned. "1-A has accumulated 30 of 135 points."
Izuku stepped back, collecting his breath before launching out of the ruined building with Blackwhip.
"1-A students: Mezo Shoji, Mashirao Ojiro, Tsuyu Asui, and Toru Hagakure have been eliminated," The robotic voice declared. "1-A has sixteen students remaining."
Izuku paled; he should've known Aizawa would've planned for them. It was his Quirk's only weakness besides his need to blink; he must've gotten something from Power Loader or Nezu to counter mutant-type Quirks.
'Great, now it's my fault they won't pass,' Izuku sighed as he moved.
'The exam is a group thing,' Marvin drawled, finally waking up.
He mentally stretched, feeling more relaxed than he had in years. He rubbed the back of his neck and took a deep breath.
'How do you know?' Izuku replied.
Marvin rolled his eyes. 'It's stupid to assume that nobody in your class would fail to take out the teachers. But if it's a group thing, you'll be fine as long as you complete the mission.'
Izuku nodded as he continued through the air, looking for Power Loader.
"1-A students: Denki Kaminari, Mina Ashido, and Fumikage Tokoyami have been eliminated," The robotic voice returned. "1-A has thirteen students remaining."
'That's bad,' Marvin commented dryly.
"Pro Hero: Ectoplasm has been eliminated," The robotic voice continued. "1-A has accumulated 45 of 135 points."
'That's good,' Izuku said.
"Pro Hero: Present Mic has been eliminated," The announcement went on. "1-A has accumulated 60 of 135 points."
"That's four of the ten teachers," Izuku whispered. "We need five more to pass or to defeat All Might."
'Well, it's your lucky day,' Marvin drawled. 'Power Loader at ten o'clock.'
Izuku turned, his eyes widening as he saw Power Loader operating one of the zero-point robots.
He launched himself in Power Loader's direction, using Wind Force for more speed.
"1-A student: Kyoka Jiro has been eliminated," The voice declared. "1-A has twelve students remaining."
Izuku slammed into the robot, causing it to stumble slightly before Izuku jumped back.
Power Loader swung the robot arm, and Izuku leaped away with Blackwhip.
The hand hit a building, demolishing it and sending the rubble down to two students. Students wearing a black and pink body suit and red leotard...
"MOMO," Izuku yelled, launching himself at the two as fast as possible.
Blackwhip launched out, but it wasn't enough; he didn't have enough control over it to use more than two tendrils.
Time seemed to slow as Izuku watched the rubble approach the two; Momo activated her Quirk, but the debris was only feet from her head.
Marvin shot forward, taking control with Izuku, and Blackwhip ripped through the air.
It grabbed the debris faster than anyone could see, and Izuku pulled it, throwing it into the air.
But they were still falling, the debris with them, and Izuku knew he couldn't let go to move.
Marvin gritted his teeth; his strength would make them lose control, but they didn't have a choice.
He remembered the feeling of floating, the weightlessness in his feet, and the feeling of the air around him.
He pulled on the feeling, hoping the Quirk would activate; if it didn't, they were screwed.
Fire seemed to pour through his body, and he spasmed as he held onto the image of them floating.
Marvin closed his eyes and pushed, and the rush of air stopped, their feet feeling like they were standing on solid ground.
For a second, he thought they failed, that Momo and Uraraka had been crushed, and he was too scared to look.
Izuku breathed a sigh of relief, and Marvin opened his eyes slowly.
They were in the air, floating without assistance, and Blackwhip held dozens of pieces of rubble in its tendrils.
Marvin looked up, seeing Momo and Uraraka staring at him with wide eyes, and even Power Loader had frozen in shock.
He roared, regaining strength, and twisted, sending all of the debris at Power Loader with as much strength as he could muster.
Power Loader stumbled back as the rubble crashed into the robot, covering the control room's glass with a robotic arm.
Blackwhip flew back into them, leaving them floating with their arms crossed in an X shape.
Izuku launched into Power Loader's robot, smashing through it like a green-haired Superman.
He landed in Power Loader's control room and cuffed the Hero before he could react.
"Pro Hero: Power Loader has been eliminated," The voice declared. "1-A has accumulated 75 of 135 points."
Izuku landed beside Momo and Uraraka, stumbling slightly as Marvin stepped back from control.
"Are you two OK?" He asked, stepping towards them.
They nodded, and Izuku sighed in relief.
"Dekiru, what was that ability? I didn't know you could fly," Uraraka exclaimed, and Izuku sweated a little.
"1-A students: Shoto Todoroki and Katsuki Bakugo have been eliminated," The voice declared. "1-A has ten students remaining."
"We need to find the others," Izuku said. "At this rate, we'll all be eliminated before we can find the teachers."
Momo and Uraraka nodded, and Izuku looked around, hoping to find a teacher.
All Might landed on the other side of the street with a tremendous gust of wind, forcing the three to shield their eyes.
"Well, what do we have here?" All Might asked, approaching them slowly. "Heroes?"
Momo and Uraraka shook a little in fear from All Might's aura. Marvin was right; it was highly enhanced compared to the Sports Festival, enough so that if Izuku hadn't experienced Marvin's aura, he might have frozen in fear.
Marvin took a deep breath as he felt All Might's aura, forcing himself to stay seated and not take control of Izuku's body. They couldn't risk losing control here, not even for a moment.
All Might punched the air, forcing the three back thanks to the powerful winds.
"Don't think of this as a test," All Might told them. "Or you'll be sorry. Young Bakugo and Todoroki were."
'Get out of here,' Marvin told him. 'You can't fight All Might on your own, and if Todoroki and Bakugo couldn't even slow him down, I doubt Momo or Uraraka could.'
Izuku stood, backing away and activating One for All.
"We need to go," He told the girls. "We have to find the others and regroup."
"Already thinking of running away, Heroes?" All Might asked before rushing them.
Izuku moved, stopping All Might from hitting Uraraka and tanking the hit himself.
He flew back into a building and got half-buried in some rubble.
'Creative Flash!'
All Might covered his eyes as Momo set off dozens of flashbangs at once, dousing the area in light.
"Impressive," All Might declared. "Ultimately useless, however!"
All Might moved so fast Momo couldn't see him, punching her in the stomach hard.
Momo screamed in pain, her previous wounds enhancing the damage.
Izuku saw red, and Blackwhip exploded out of him violently, ripping around him.
All Might flew back after Blackwhip hit him, tumbling to a stop and getting up.
Izuku was holding Momo's body, which was twitching softly, her breathing shaky as she held her stomach.
"What are you, Hero?" All Might called, seeing the mass of Blackwhip tentacles surrounding Izuku.
"Some kind of monster?"
The world froze, and All Might stepped back as a thick aura covered the entire training area, powerful enough to put fear into anybody's heart.
"Pro Heroes: Eraserhead, Thirteen, and Cementoss have been eliminated," The robotic voice announced. "1-A has accumulated 120 of 135 points."
"1-A students: Ochaco Uraraka, Momo Yaoyorozu, Ejiro Kirishima, Hanta Sero, Yuga Aoyama..."
Izuku couldn't hear it; Marvin had taken complete control and was staring at All Might with so much loathing. Izuku was surprised the Pro didn't drop dead on the spot.
"1-A has one student remaining."
Marvin recalled Blackwhip and activated Float, hanging in the air with his head down like some kind of spirit from a horror movie.
The arena was filled with his aura, heavy enough that even All Might felt some fear creep into him as he stared at Marvin.
Marvin looked up, and All Might stepped back as he stared at him. Izuku's body looked completely different, dark shadows hanging over his eyes, allowing only his irises to be visible. One for All was entirely concentrated in Izuku's body, with none of the lightning that came with typical use.
"A monster, huh?"

Author's Note: And that's the chapter! A lot of things happened, but I'm happy with how this chapter turned out. It was a struggle writing this in a way that wasn't boring or repetitive, and I was half-convinced to just skip it altogether because of how difficult it was to write.
As you can see, Marvin doesn't like being called a monster. It's part of his past he'd rather not remember. The reason I chose Nana to comfort him was two-fold. Nana already has Marvin's respect, so it isn't as challenging to get to the emotional part, and (surprising to me) Nana actually was cold and distant during her early Hero days, but that changed when she discovered All Might.
Next chapter: Marvin vs. All Might!
