Chapter 21: From Home and Back
Six weeks have passed since the return of Lincoln and Lily to their original home in Michigan. In those six weeks, much of life has caught up with the Loud family. Lori graduated college and Leni is currently finishing her last year. Those two went away and moved out for years while Luna and Luan chose to be Local so they could both look after their sisters and grandfather. Lincoln forgave his sisters for the incident years ago and he is repairing his relationship with them, while Lily is establishing a relationship with each of her sisters. Lily has been sleeping in her original room with Lisa whom she has gotten along with very much. Lincoln along with Lucy and Lynn jr were sitting on the couch together talking about life while the news was on TV. The news anchor for national news reported there have been strange sightings of creatures of the paranormal caliber happening in the Great Lakes region of the United States. Lincoln knew instinctively something was off. He checked the medallion around his neck and saw that it was glowing a dim cyan color in the circle outside of the design in the center of the symbol of Apollo. He excused himself from the two and went upstairs to his newly restored room. He looked at his medallion and pulled out his phone which he was given four years ago. He checked the news on any stories relating to the paranormal in the region and many of them were related to seeing creatures of Greek mythology. The last big incident happened in a very rural area of Wisconsin. Which is near his Grandfather's vacation home. He went to his Grandfather and convinced him he wanted to investigate the situation because it might be related to the world he lived in. Pop-pop agreed because there were items for which he left at his vacation home he really wanted to retrieve. Lincoln changed his clothing to something more appropriate to what he was going to do. He put on black tactical pants, good quality hiking boots, and a dark blue shirt. He equipped both a pocket knife he got himself two weeks ago from a store and the dagger his aunt gave him years ago for the start of his training. He and Pop-Pop were walking out the door when Lucy stopped them and demanded where they were going. He explained and she promised them to keep quiet if she is allowed on and Lincoln gifted her the pocket knife in case she needed it. After the long drive they finally arrived at the vacation home in rural Wisconsin which was just North of the border with Illinois. After they settle down they trek through two miles of wilderness to where the last incident was reported the previous night. They were wandering around the alleged site, until Lucy stumbled upon the entrance of an abandoned mine. They whipped out flashlights and explored until they discovered an illuminated area. The area they were in was full of painting and occult items relating to the God of War Ares. Lincoln was the most confused out of the trio due to the fact that Ares is in a cell back on Themyscira. It was nowhere near the strangest event in that mine when Diana in the Amazons most prized armor and his adoptive Aunt dawned in her old battle armor walked into the light with very stern expressions on their faces while staring down at Lincoln.
