Have you ever thought about how glad you were to be born when you were? I mean think about it. I'm sure there are people who are glad to be born after all the major wars are over. Some people are glad to be born after certain inventions are made and spread throughout the population. I'm pretty sure I am in this category. Then there are the people glad to be born after the evolution of humanity.

In case you don't remember around the start of the 21st century a child was born. He was crying like any other normal child and had all the right parts that made him human. Well except for one special exception: he was glowing.

This wasn't that glowing with happiness that people used as an expression, he was literally glowing. When examined scientists found that everything about him was normal compared to other humans but there was something about his skin causing light to reflect brightly. They found out later that he wasn't reflecting light but creating his own light even when in a pitch-black room.

The world went crazy over this. The miracle child (he has an actual name but I forget it) was born in China but was affecting the whole world. Many raced to its birthplace believing it was the rebirth of Jesus or something. Others feared this child and wanted it closely watched and locked up. For a while, relations were pretty tense between nations as many questioned if China was experimenting with pre-born children by changing their DNA so that they were born special. So imagine when another child was born this time instead of light it would mute the whole room when it was crying. I think it was in France about a month or two after the first child's birth.

Yeah, people freaked out. That first child practically led the chain reaction of super babies being born with powers. Oh, that's right because calling these abilities powers seemed kind of threatening to say these abilities are instead called quirks. These quirks caused the world to change in an insane way.

As you can imagine many countries started to develop laws to try and control these newborns. Some even made facilities to put the children in and watch them grow. Of course, not many people were fans of how these children were being planned to be taken care of and argued against these ideas. The US almost came to a second civil war about deciding how to treat these children: as humans or property. Many argued they were no longer human, instead becoming freaks that would be dangerous to the average person unless trained and controlled. Most argued the opposite, saying these are people born from mothers and fathers who deserve our love and protection. Thankfully the tension broke down with time but there are still plenty of people who fear and hate quirks.

Speaking of quirks there is a general of 3 types that you would get.

The first is self-morphing. For this example, I use super strength or the ability to change your biology to change your size to either be as big as a building or shrink down. Controlled change.

The next type is outward control, being able to control things that aren't yours. Examples are when you touch something you slow it down or elemental control.

The last is forced biology when your quirk causes a change in your appearance and how your body works. Some people will have animal body parts or extra limbs. A less extreme is having some lizard regeneration because you have some lizard DNA.

Oh, I should warn you these are my own name for these things. the correct titles for these are Emitters, Mutation, and Transormation.

So let's skip ahead to when these special kids are all grown up. Some ignored their quirks and tried to have a normal life, while some with more powerful quirks decided to use their quirks in a more social way. Of course, some became criminals by either cheating or robbing but those people aren't who I'm focused on right now. The ones I'm focusing on are those called heroes. These people use their quirks to help protect citizens and their home countries.

While heroes of the US don't really work for as much as with the government there were two instances that Heroes were on the front line in wars. The first was when some countries agreed to attack North Korea, thinking they finally had the overwhelming strength needed to fight them and free their people. Turns out North Korea had some supers themselves and unlike most of the world they didn't hold back in forcing their heroes into a life of service. The first hero war lasted 18 days, we lost most of our heroes and while Korea didn't have many quirk users the ones they did have were trained killers. The war ended in a draw, with the heroes of the alliance refusing to fight anymore knowing the enemy wasn't willing to let themselves be taken prisoners and also not willing to lose any more people. North Korea remained the same just now instead of warheads it threatens the world with quirks.

Then there was the war that almost broke out between China and Europe. It turns out that when a hero from one country visits another without knowing the laws and is killed because he didn't understand he broke a strict quirk law(He used his super strength to forcefully move a car that was blocking a road but when told to stay where he was so he could be arrested, he instead walked towards the officers. Because they saw what he could do up close they warned him not to take another step but were ignored. He was killed in 3 shots.) Things almost came to blows but America and Japan showed up to the talks and were able to smooth things out and convince both sides that while a horrible accident it was just that, an accident.

Of course, this led to a bunch of laws and safeguards being made for powerful quirk users traveling. One such change Is in America there are now two levels of travel ID/Passports. Level 1 is for civilians and non-quirks military users. These are the usual papers that everyone hates to get but are necessary for travel. Level 2 is for those registered as heroes, civilians that have registered quirks strong enough to be considered a threat to law enforcement or military personnel with quirks no matter how strong. These people need to show that they have great control of their quirks while in a tense situation, so mostly for the civilian's part. The next is to take a test that questions how well you know the quirk laws of the location you are either going visit or move to. The final part is a warning letting you know quirk users who become criminals during travel will become enemies of all countries allied with the US and the country they are visiting. Very few people usually get in trouble with these laws anymore, at least in foreign countries but those that do travel and break the rules usually aren't heard from again.

The world is now populated by quirk users. In fact last I heard only 20 percent of the world's population are quirkless. I am part of that 20 percent. In fact, me and my friend Harry Osborn are the only kids in our school Midtown High without quirks. That's not to say everyone in my school has what it takes to be hero material, just that in a world where quirks are normal not having any is not a good abnormality to be. Literally, any quirk is better than no quirk, socially that is.

Oh, I forgot to introduce myself. I'm Peter Parker, a 16-year-old freshman without a quirk. I lived with my aunt and uncle after my parents died in a plane crash nine years ago. Well….. just my aunt now. You see I had a pretty eventful summer break, even by this quirk-filled world standard. Also, I wasn't lying earlier, I don't have a quirk. I'm sixteen years old and well over the age, of most people who discover their quirks, even by late bloomers' standards. But what makes me different is that instead of naturally developing a quirk it was gained via an accident. I was bitten by a spider. I swear that is not a joke and please do not go and try it yourself, it never ends well. I spent the first day of the break passed out feeling terrible from the bite, when I woke up the next day I was a new man. I went from skin and bones to muscle…..and bone and skin. You know what I mean. I no longer needed my glasses, in fact, now glasses make it harder for me to see.

So what abilities do I have other than better vision? Super strength, stronger than most strength-based heroes, increased agility, insane flexibility, 20/10 sight, above perfect hearing, stick to walls, and a warning in my head that lets me know when danger is near.

it all sounds great, right? Not really, especially when I had to hide it during the second half of my sophomore year because I knew it wasn't natural how I all of a sudden had them. imagine trying to hold yourself back from doing anything because you know it could lead to problems. the good news was because I was unpopular I wasn't on anyone's radar, so no one really paid any attention to me. the bad news was the few friends I did have tended to be protective of me and made it hard for me to keep things hidden. of course, I wanted to tell my friends but how do i drop a bombshell like that?

Oh right, I haven't introduced Gwen Stacy or Harry Osborn, the only people I can truly call friends at my school. Gwen Stacy, the only girl who actually talks to me and Harry and the final member of our trio of friends. Did I seriously say trio of friends? Oh well. She has a quirk called cleanse. It allows her to clean things with her hands. Dirt on glasses? No stain left behind. Stain on your favorite shirt? Never there to begin with. She's incredibly smart, smarter than me in some areas of science. Her father is the chief of police and is probably where she gets her tough attitude from. I don't really know much about her mom other than she walked out of both of them.

Now she should have a different group of friends, after all, quirkless people tend to be looked down upon but she always seemed to enjoy spending time with us. I was one of the few people she could talk science with and while Harry most of the time didn't understand a thing we said he always stayed with us and would steer the conversation to more popular subjects like places to go or cool things. I used to have another friend I used to be really close to but we aren't really on speaking terms right now.

Speaking of Harry Osborn, he is a kid from a completely different world than me. I have a hole in my shirt? Aunt May stitches it up. He gets a hole in his shirt? He throws it out and hires someone to buy him another. I buy a new shirt from Walmart or the thrift store, he gets shirt a shirt from someplace I can't even pronounce. yeah you guessed it he's rich, probably the richest kid in town. In fact, the only reason we know each other is because a few years ago his mom didn't like the effect his private school and the students there were having on him. it took him some time to get used to peasant life but I like to think I helped him adjust. I even met his father, who I was surprised to learn was an inspiration to me, Norman Osborn. The man was a genius scientist who became an entrepreneur by selling his creations and making the second-largest company in the US. sadly I was only able to meet his mom Emily Osborn. After her death, Mr. Osborn became more strict with Harry. some would say abusive but that would mean his dad had to be there. I like to think I was there as much as I could have been for him.

Right back to me. When I saw what I could do, well I wasn't sure what I should do. Explore my powers, find my bullies, and show them what's what, maybe even impress some pretty girl? for a while, I just focused on getting better control of my Powers while hiding them from everyone including Aunt May and Uncle Ben. It was during Summer break I saw a magazine ad looking for a challenger to fight an underground fighter called Bonesaw for three minutes with a reward of $3000 for lasting that long. On the page was a symbol that most underground quirk users used to hide that something illegal was happening. Instantly a plan came together in my head. I would go fight, use the opportunity to get some practice in using my powers then reveal myself as the wrestler who made a bunch of money to my bullies making them hugely jealous and scared of me while also impressing some girls. I had a plan and now I just had to make things go according to plan.

Things did not go according to plan. I planned on walking to the underground arena so I could arrive just in time to sign up(did I mention this fight was barely legal? Yeah I'm not even old enough to actually sign up but thankfully they didn't ID so I just needed a mask) but instead arrived early because uncle Ben decided to give me a ride. I made up the lie I was gonna work on a project at the library that was near the arena. I still remember when we arrived at the library the conversation we had inside that car, he gave me great advice and I ignored it for some easy cash. It was the last time I was able to have a conversation with him. I don't even remember if I told him I loved him.

Fast forward I entered and won the fight. Great right? I thought so, Heck thanks to fighting this guy I learned that I had super strength above the average strength-based hero. The crowd cheering me on felt great, at least the ones not booing at me. The problems started when instead of the $3000 dollars that was promised in the ad I was only given $100. When I complained about getting cheated the owner made the argument that the contract was for 3 minutes in the ring, I broke the contract to win in under 2. I remember his sneer, as he knew I couldn't do anything. Attack him? Sure I would get the money but I didn't want that kind of attention. I sure as hell couldn't sue him, I was an underage kid who lied so I could fight.

So I took the money and left his office, already a forgotten memory to the man who cheated me. When I arrived at the elevator to leave I heard a scream behind me. Turns out someone had robbed the owner after I left and was headed to the elevator. The very elevator that was open behind me.

I could have stopped that burglar, I could have taken my first step as a hero that day but instead, I was petty and stepped aside and allowed the burglar to grab my spot in the elevator. He even thanked me. I felt so much satisfaction when the slimy owner screamed at me, demanding to know why I let the burglar get away. I just threw his words back at him. "Not my problem." and left.

Outside the library where I was scheduled to meet up with Uncle Ben was a group of people and police. Curious I went through the crowd and saw Uncle Ben on the ground being treated by paramedics. I moved to his side and held his hand as he breathed his last breath. I stayed by his side for a while. I only left when I heard an officer's radio talk about finding the man who stole Uncle Ben's car and was currently being chased. My body moved before I could even process the idea of revenge.

After that, I found the guy in Uncle Ben's car, forced him to stop at an old building, and scared the life out of him. Because It was night and the building was abandoned there was no light for me to get a good look at the murderer's face. So before I would enact justice by dropping him from a second-story window I pushed him into the light of the moon.

There in my hands, dangling in the air was the man who robbed the arena's owner. The man who thanked me for being petty, the man who I could have stopped. I dropped him, not on purpose but from shock. Before he could crash into the glass I caught him in my web, knowing even if I wanted him to die, it's not what Uncle Ben would have wanted.

After that I got away as heroes and law enforcement arrived, I arrived home and hugged Aunt May. What made it harder was knowing I was the reason she lost the man she loved and is now stuck alone with a failure like me.

So after that, I spent the rest of summer break practicing using my powers and practicing my uncle's last advice to me. "With great power comes great responsibility."

So after taking a few days to make web-shooters and the chemicals needed to make the webbing, I was ready. Ready to start a training montage that is, can't go around not knowing what I'm doing with all those heroes around. Speaking of which there was a hero who chased the guy who stole Uncle Ben's car, a speedster. Sadly for him, the criminal hit him with Uncle Ben's car leaving a pretty big dent on the car. good for us though was that the city is covering the damage since a hero caused some of the damage.

So I took a week to learn how to web swing and practice holding back my new super strength just enough that I could handle street crime without accidentally killing someone. I left my training area with my head held high and a bunch of cracks in the walls. I made sure to leave a note apologizing for the damages. it's not like I knew how to fix the damage or had the money to.

I spent the rest of my summer break stopping criminals and building my rep. At first, it was pretty easy, I stopped a couple of robberies, some carjackers, and a literal cat thief. I still wonder why he stole so many cats. It wasn't until after the cat thief told the cops that I refused to show my Hero ID that law enforcement got me on their radar. Turns out that most people just thought I was another hero who had just gotten his license but when police noticed I wasn't reporting they put a warrant out for me. Did I forget to mention being a vigilante is majorly illegal? So yeah looks like you are all up to date, Now we just need to get in one last patrol and be ready for school tomorrow. Man, I am so ready for this next part of my life.

Hello and welcome to the remake of the last story. I hope you enjoyed the prologue, a little short I know but I plan to make each official chapter longer. in case you read the other story and are wondering "Why did he stop?" it's because personal Stuff and mental Health made me pause. I had lost my Cousin to COVID-19 and was not in a good head space. in fact, i was gonna release the first chapter with the Prologue but my aunt just died and am again feeling blocked. but don't worry cause writing this is actually helping me feel better.

so done with the depressed part i hope you enjoyed this and can't wait for the official first chapter. the first three will cover Peter's time as a vigilante in New York as he builds his rep and experience with the fourth finally bringing him to UA. I am currently making a timeline of what i plan to happen so that i don't confuse myself. also yes this is inspired by Spectacular Spider-Man but with a few changes. the Quirk-based world is an obvious one but also i won't be covering it all. so i recommend you watch the actual show.

thank you demonicwolf for letting me know the mistake please review and let me know any mistakes you think I made. also Peter was 15 when he got his powers but he was 16 in the spectacular Spider-Man.
