Hey Guys! Crescent Rider here and I'm back with another chapter. Before we begin, let's start with the usual.
Firstly, the answer to the fourth 'Whose that Pokemon' is Lycanroc the 'Wolf Pokemon'. Now you all may wonder; what does the hint 'Time' have to do with Lycanroc? The answer lies in the evolution tree of Rockruff; Which are Midday, Dusk, and Midnight.
It's a shame that there isn't a Dawn Form of Lycanroc. But who knows, maybe there will be in the future. But that's just me hoping...
Secondly, another question from me again. If any of you recalled the Mega Evolutions of Pokemon, not including Gigagantamax Pokemon. Is it possible for Mew to access them or not?
Let me know what you think, because in my opinion. I believe Mew can't access them.
And lastly, there's something I'd like to admit but you'll this part at the end of the chapter.
That is all and enjoy the chapter!
Somewhere...
While Saitama and Genos left to partake in the Hero Test, Mew goes explore the world once more. However, it had some business in a particular area that it once visited...
The land that Genos had single-handedly shaped to devastate the base of the House of Evolution...
When approaching a burnt tree, it sat upon a burnt branch. In the slightest amount of pressure, the branch breaks into ashe, and the same is said for the entire tree. If this tree is so brittle, Mew had assumed that the same can be said for the rest of these trees.
Thus, Mew starts working on repairing the destruction caused by Genos' Arm Cannons. It took roughly hours since the land had been geographically shaped, but Mew would succeed in its task as the forest that was once burned by Genos had grown and flourished once more.
Mew would revert its transformation, then proceed to wander the world as usual. But this phenomenon did not go unnoticed...
A Few Hours Later
Upon discovery via satellite imagery, the Executives had assembled a team, consisting of some of their staff and a few heroes as their bodyguards, to investigate the area that had been devoid of life due to Genos's power.
As soon as they arrived, they were utterly shocked that the land they considered a wasteland was restored with trees, shrubs, and bushes days after its destruction. What's noticeable and unchangeable of the land is the shape of the land.
When comparing the images, of the aftermath of Genos' destruction and the one they've captured now, they now know that it's the same area where the House of Evolution had once established its base of operation, except, the landscape in the second image was brimming with life, unlike the first image...
Their thoughts on the matter were presumably an unnatural phenomenon, but some have assumed that it was Mew since this phenomenon was somehow connected to Atomic Samurai's report, where he stated that the forest they sparred in had been restored to its proper condition.
This prompted their interest in Mew further, and efforts to find this creature have doubled than before. To further increase their chances of Mew's sightings, the Executives have reached the decision to publicize Mew's existence to the rest of the world.
Some objected considering exposing Mew to the public may not only risk its well-being but also make shady organizations aware of the incomprehensible powers it wields. Making Mew a target for their ingenious but malicious plans.
However, some Executives felt optimistic that their Association would be the first to find this creature before other organizations could.
After a considerable amount of voting, the majority has decided to publicize Mew's existence on Earth, Sightings and Encounters are to be reported with utmost urgency, and pictures of Mew will be well-rewarded so long as the picture is recent and authentic.
Meanwhile...
In a talent agency, The Bearded Worker was passing on a message to a particular hero, whose rank is at the very top of Class-A and is the Association's Main Source for Media Support, Amai Mask.
"So let me get this straight, you want me to promote the search to the public," Amai Mask repeated, and looked displeased by it, "A search that revolves around a monster?"
"Yes," The Bearded Worker said,
"Do you have any idea how ridiculous this proposal sounds to you?" Amai Mask sternly questioned, "Wanting me to promote a monster's search to the public. Are you well aware of the backlash it'll cause to the public? Are those people aware of how the people will react to this search,"
"Some are aware, but it was under the Executives' decision as this creature is said to possess powers beyond comprehension," The Bearded Worker said, "Which is why the Association wishes to find the creature first and study it more closely,"
Amai Mask averts his gaze from the work and glances at an old picture of Mew, "All the more reason to eliminate it from existence..."
The Bearded Worker silently gulped at Amai Mask's words since he and the Association are well aware of Amai Mask's disdain towards Monsters. This is why proposing the search to him is much riskier than notifying other heroes for them.
For there had been instances of Amai Mask ignoring orders for capturing monsters, and swiftly eliminating them without a moment's hesitation. The only reason why they ignore these incidents is due to Amai Mask's reputation and credibility to the public.
Without further discussion, The Bearded Worker left the room and Amai Mask expressed his opinion through action. He would grab the photo of Mew, crumble it with one hand, and drop it in the nearest bin.
He may be aware of Mew's positive reputation to the public, but it doesn't change the fact that Mew's a monster and must be wiped out before it unveils its true nature and spreads its evil across the world.
The Following Day
In Saitama's Apartment, he is in the middle of his breakfast while Mew is sleeping as it curls itself into a ball on his table. As he stared at a sleeping Mew, he recalled a particular conversation he had with Genos after they became official heroes in the Hero Registry.
Apparently, Genos had spoken to the Association Staff and they explicitly stated that they're searching for Mew and all matter of sightings, interactions, and encounters are to be reported to them directly. They even said that if possible, he would bring Mew to the Association where they can study Mew further.
The reason why Genos decided not to reveal encounters with Mew is because he needed his master's approval to share that knowledge with the Association. To which Saitama said that he'll think about it.
'If I think about it, Mew is incredible on its own... It can fly, transform into whatever it wants, and all kinds of stuff. If it were to join, it would have reached Class S in no time,' Saitama remarked, whilst thinking of his position in Class C,
He pondered to himself; what if he were the one who brought Mew to the Association? Since they're so inclined to search for Mew for quite some time, perhaps it'll significantly raise his rank to the top of Class C, or maybe promote him to Class B straight. It'll be a huge aid to his new line of work...
But when he puts it like that, it's almost like he's snitching on someone for the sake of his own mutual gain. For that thought alone, Saitama drops the idea as Mew's company starts to grow on him and it seems friendly compared to the monsters he encounters as a hero.
After a few knocks on his door, Saitama soon heard a familiar voice from the other side of the door, "Sensei!"
Saitama goes to the door, and opens it to see Genos standing in front of him, "I may sound imprudent of me, but may we spar somewhere secluded?"
"Uh, sure," Saitama agreed, "I'll just change for a moment,"
"Understood," Genos said
As Saitama lets his disciple in his room, he goes to change into his costume while Genos gazes at Mew on the table. As soon as Saitama had changed into his hero attire, the cyborg turned to him with a question, "Sensei, about your decision on this creature,"
"Huh? Oh, forget about it," Saitama replied,
"Are you certain? The Association has stated that they've been looking for this creature for quite some time now. Surely, it'll help you boost your ranks should you present Mew to them," Genos stated, while Mew popped one of its eyes open,
"I know, but like I said. Forget about it," Saitama stated, "If I want to rise from the ranks, I'll have to work my way up, not take shortcuts. If I resort to such means, then what kind of hero am I,"
Genos sharply gasped at his master's words, processed them through his mind, and asked one particular question, "Do you have a pen and notebook you can spare?"
"Sure, it's right over there," Saitama replied as he pointed at the desk drawer,
Genos immediately goes to the desk drawer and starts writing down the conversation in this notebook.
"What are you doing?" Saitama inquired while he sweatdrops at Genos' behavior,
"Recording your words of wisdom, and I solemnly vow not to share any information about this creature unless you allow me!" Genos replied,
'You could have just said 'ok' instead of that you know,' Saitama remarked in his mind, then he noticed Mew awake as it floated right next to Genos, "Oh, you're awake,"
"Mew," Mew mouthed while Genos stopped writing to glance at it,
"Do you plan on heading out? Genos and I were just about to leave for a match," Saitama inquired,
Mew just floats towards Saitama and stays by his side rather than leave through the balcony. Hence, it made its decision when Saitama said, "I guess you're coming with us then,"
With that decision, the three left the apartment together and made their way to a secluded valley where Saitama and Genos would spar for the very first time.
Valley
As Mew watches from above, Saitama and Genos first engage in a particular conversation that revolves around their new line of work, "Hero Registry?"
"Yes," Genos replied while looking at his phone, "I am a Class S Hero and you are a Class C Hero. We are both ranked at the very bottom. Right now, we are still listed as Genos and Saitama, but as we perform more heroic acts, we will acquire hero names,"
"Hero names? What are those?" Saitama inquired,
"I believe they are like nicknames that capture a hero's characteristics. For example, I might be the 'Blond Cyborg'," Genos presumed,
"Wait, if that's how it works, won't I be like the 'Caped Baldy'?" Saitama assumed while holding his cape, though it was ignored as Genos continued, "Aside from being ranked by ability, you can also be ranked by popularity. There are some heroes that have fan clubs,"
Saitama expressed some interest though was shut down when Genos bluntly remarked, "Well, no one cares about that. Thank you for agreeing to my unreasonable request today,"
"Yeah, well I did promise to make you my disciple," Saitama said as he walked meters away from Genos, then he turned towards him, "Is right here good?"
"Yes!" Genos replied,
As for Mew, it was in between the two and often turns its head to the two.
"So we're just having a practice bout, right? Not fighting for real?" Saitama inquired,
"Yes, that's what I have in mind," Genos replied, "But I want you to go all out so I too will give it my all,"
Genos assumes a fighting stance while his cybernetic body begins to power up, "Please grant my request,"
Saitama doesn't reply, but Genos won't wait for an answer as he launches himself towards Saitama. Mew's reactions were quick as it teleported out of the battle to the skies where Saitama and Genos's bout may not reach them
As fast as Genos' strikes are, Saitama's reaction speed and movement speed were far better than the cyborg's as the latter's attacks seem slow to him.
What followed was Genos firing his arm cannon towards Saitama as he was in mid-away. Of course, the latter avoids the cannon and the blast was about to reach the forest just above the mountain face.
But Mew prevented the forest destruction was conjuring a psychic barrier that stopped the blast from reaching past the mountain face. Neither Saitama nor Genos mind it so long as Mew doesn't interfere with their bout.
"That was close..." Saitama commented, "My clothes could have got burnt up again,"
Genos' arm cannon closes and lets out a bunch of steam from his mouth. Then, Genos increases his speed and dashes right for Saitama. Their clashes were so fast that it seemed impossible to track them by eye.
Though Mew keeps track of Saitama's movements via its psychic powers. Despite that, Mew can tell that he's quite fast even when he's holding back for Genos' bout.
The cyborg soon chases his master towards the valley wall, though that is only an afterimage as the real one is running from the opposite direction as Genos.
As soon as the cyborg had caught on his master's, he'd reach him with the use of his arm cannons, then unleash his next attack.
"Incinerate!" Genos yelled, and fired his arm cannons at full power,
He may assumed that he had caught Saitama, but the latter tapped him on the shoulder from behind and poked his cheek as soon as he turned, "Okay, I win!"
Genos attempts to strike him, but Saitama jumps over Genos and lands a few meters away from the cyborg. He momentarily loses his balance there...
"Sensei..." Genos called out, "Have you forgotten the rules of the bout? Dodge any attack you are able to dodge. Take it seriously and no fooling around. Do not hold back. And... keep fighting until I am no longer able to fight,"
Saitama takes these rules into consideration while Genos reminiscences the fights Saitama has done. Moments later, Genos states the following sentence to his master, "Show me no mercy,"
"Those were the rules, Sensei-" Before Genos could finish that sentence, Saitama quickly closed the distance between him and Genos,
The latter gasped and then attempted to kick him, but Saitama was faster as he went right behind Genos and prepared a punch. But before it'd reach Genos' face, Saitama stopped and the force behind Saitama's punch blew around Genos and hit the valley behind the cyborg instead.
As soon as it was done, Saitama lightly tapped Genos' forehead to snap him out of his stunned expression, "I'm starving. Time for lunch. Let's grab some udon noodles,"
Genos powers down, but still maintained his stunned expression as he watched Saitama walk away. Mew would fly next to the cyborg and eye on the destruction that Saitama caused.
Compared the Genos destroying the House of Evolution. Saitama's power is far stronger and superior to the cyborg, perhaps more than anyone in this world.
Mew wouldn't be able to restore this easily, but decided not to and departed via teleportation rather than flight. For it spend the rest of the afternoon elsewhere...
A Few Moments Later...
The location where Mew had teleported to was a particular school that it once visited. At this time of day, Mew checks the window and finds Zenko practicing rather well on the piano.
As soon as she finished playing, she pulled her hands back and exhaled through her nose. That's when she looks up to the sheets and finds Mew there.
"Ah, you're back!" Zenko happily remarked,
"Mew!" Mew replied,
"Have you come to listen," Zenko inquired, and Mew nodded, "Okay then,"
With Mew's presence, Zenko started playing once more. However, she appears to be playing a different kind of music, unlike the one she had once practiced in the past.
The melody was so soothing that Mew flew off the piano onto Zenko's lap. This didn't bother her as she continued to play beautifully with the piano.
But before she could finish the melody, the wall suddenly bursts open and Mew reacted quickly enough to create a psychic bubble to protect Zenko and itself.
When the dust settled, the bubble popped, and before the two was a monster towering before the two, "Oh? It appears that I've found myself some snacks in this school. Lucky me,"
The monster snickers while Zenko just jumps off the chair with Mew in her arms. As the monster roars and tries to catch Zenko, Mew's reactions are quick and pushes the monster right out of the wall with its psychic powers.
Mew then flew off of Zenko's arms and glanced at the closed piano. With its psychic powers, the damage dealt by the monster was quite severe as some of the strings were broken and a piano leg had been snapped right off.
It then fixates its gaze on the monster as it straightens itself and assumes a transformation, which causes Zenko to widen her eyes at the appearance it now takes.
Outside the School
As soon as Metal Bat heard the explosion in his sister's school, he rushed inside without hesitation as the safety of his sister was his utmost priority. Should he find her hurt, he would never forgive himself for such negligence.
Just as he reached the area where the explosion happened. He spots a large hole that leads to the music room where his sister practices her piano lessons.
But before he jumped right in, he hesitated when he saw something coming out of the hole. It may as well be a monster when he considers its dark appearance, but what really caused him to hesitate is that this one was targeting a monster from the opposite direction of the hole.
A large but injured monster had arisen, despite its fierce appearance. It seemingly cowered before this dark monster as it hovers towards it.
'A Monster fearing another monster. What the hell's going on?' Metal Bat questioned while still holding his bat at the ready,
But before he could process or even intervene, the dark monster brought its hands close and conjured its next move. The other monster panicked as it grabbed the largest rock it could find and threw it at the Dark Monster.
The latter responds with a beam of dark energy that not only breaks the projectile but also strikes the blow to its intended target. With the monster lying on the ground utterly defeated, the Dark Monster just straightened itself.
Then it glances at Metal Bat, who readies his bat in case this Dark Monster tries to attack him. What stops him from resorting to such means is the presence of his sister, "Onii-chan!"
Metal Bat and the Dark Monster turn to Zenko, "Zenko? Stay away from it! It might hurt you,"
"It's alright, I know who this is," Zenko reasoned,
"What?" Metal Bat exclaimed, while Zenko bravely approached the Dark Monster,
"I'm really sorry that I couldn't finish the sheets," Zenko apologized, "But if you want to hear more, you could go to my piano recital. It's coming up in a few days, you could go there and watch with my brother,"
The Dark Monster just stared, then nodded which made Zenko smile while Metal Bat just gaped at his own sister, who was practically inviting a monster to a piano recital.
With the monster problem settled, and the invitation in mind. The Dark Monster departs by submerging itself into the shadow and leaves. Metal Bat would walk up to Zenko while his sight was still set on the area where the Dark Monster once was.
Utterly stunned by the events he had just witnessed. What snapped him out of this expression was when Zenko tugged on his hand, "Onii-chan, let's go home,"
"Eh, uh, sure," Metal Bat replied,
The two of them would walk home, but on top of the nearest building, the Dark Monster overlooks them and then it reverts its transformation back to Mew's original form.
With that in mind, Mew leaves the city and returns to Saitama's apartment for the day...
The Following Day
As Saitama and Mew are together, the latter is given a popsicle by the former since he has grown accustomed to its company.
But what he hasn't grown accustomed to is his disciple, who had let himself in with a large bag on his back, "Uh, so when you said, 'I'll be back'. This is what you meant?"
"Yes. I went home to gather my things," Genos responded, then dropped his bag on the floor, "May I live here?"
"Absolutely not," Saitama bluntly replied,
What changed Saitama's mind was Genos placing a large stack of money on the table, "I have rent money,"
Saitama stares at the stack of money before him, then he looks up to Genos, "Did you bring a toothbrush?"
"Yes!" Genos responded immediately,
Thus, Saitama has gained another odd roommate to his household...
That is it for this chapter, everyone! But before you all go, it's time I admit something I've said at the beginning of this chapter.
If any one of you is familiar with the Website AO3 (Archive of Our Own). I happened to have a different writer mantle there (TheRisingDryad).
Why I'm mentioning this is because there's some ongoing work and it primarily revolves around a lot of Smut between Anthropomorphic Pokemon and their Human Partner or a Pokemon of their species or different species. There are two versions of them, and both Introduction Chapters contain certain rules when making certain requests on certain preferences or Pokemon.
So read those before making a request.
But be advised, both are Rated - E for Explicit Content and I won't mention the why here.
Now for the fifth 'Whose That Pokemon!'.
I'll only give one hint this time: Night
That is all I have to say, and I'll see you all in the next chapter!
