"Oh Ranma, it's so kind of you to come here to take care of me, dear." Kasumi said with a big smile on her face.
Ranma smiled cheekily at his favourite sister-in-law as he said,
"Anything for you, Kasumi-san! Ranma is always in your service.." saying that, he dramatically bowed down in front of her.
Kasumi giggled at him, "Silly, Ranma.." She said and slowly started walking down the stairs while holding her big belly. Ranma quickly ran to her side and helped her to walk carefully and as requested, he escorted her towards the kitchen. He carefully helped her to sit at one of the chairs as she whispered breathlessly,
"Thank you, Ranma! Let me rest a bit, then I will make something for us.."
"Are you crazy? You can't work in this state.."
Kasumi giggled again as she said,
"Oh Ranma, I am not sick; I am just a regular pregnant woman."
"I know, Kasumi-san! But you should be taking bed rest. You know what Dr said about your health."
"Awww! I know Ranma, but I was getting anxious lying down all day at the same place and anyway, I am actually very much hungry right now and I want to eat something." She said as she rubbed her belly.
"Okay!! Then don't worry sis, I will make you something special. What do you want to eat?"
Kasumi licked her lips just like a child craving for their favourate food as she said,
"Anything.. made with sweet and sour sauce.."
Ranma laughed lightly and said,
"Just give me a few minutes, mam.. Your food is on its way.."
Kasumi sighed and saw her brother-in-law in action as he started working in the kitchen at a record speed. With years of experience as the husband of a woman who barely knows how to make tea, had worked wonders on his cooking skills. The thing that always makes her heart melt with gratefulness whenever she sees that he never ever complained once about this issue and takes this as his responsibility to take care of her imouto. At first when they got married at such a young age as twenty , she thought it was not a bright idea considering how immature both acted sometimes. But as time passed, her respect towards Ranma started gaining up. And soon she realized, that, age doesn't matter if there is love and understanding amongst two people. And if a girl has a supportive husband by her side, just like her imouto Akane has Ranma by her side, they can easily concur any difficulties.. She sighs thinking about them and said while smiling,
"I am sorry, Ranma; you had to leave your work to come here."
"No worries, Oneechan. I promise I will try my best to take care of you. By the way, Tofu was on leave , wasn't he?"
Kasumi sighs tiredly and said,
"Yes, but an emergency call came and he had to rush to the patient's house. He is his uncle, that's why he couldn't say no. He told me, he would try to return as fast as he can, you know its in the next town.."
"It's ok. Akane said she would directly come here after her exam is finished. If you want we can stay here tonight and you can tell Tofu to take his sweet time to come back home.."
Kasumi giggled and said with a pleasant tone,
"I love this idea! You guys are so fun to be with!"
"I am more fun to be with! That tomboy acts more bossy these days! Ranma don't do this, don't do that! She is getting older, not me!" He smirked while saying this.
Kasumi laughed alongside him as she observed Ranma closely.
"Ranma, you know you have turned into a lovely responsible man! I am so proud of you."
He chuckled and said as he winked at her,
"I am man amongst man, did you forget that?"
Kasumi giggled and shook her head,
"My Akane is lucky to have you as her partner."
"Nah.. I am the one who is lucky to have her in my life, Onee-chan. Believe me, without her guidance I would have been lost fully.." Ranma said without any hesitation as he started plating her food, "To be honest, sometimes I feel that she deserves more than what I am giving her.."
"Nonsense!" She shook her head, "you guys both deserve each other, no more no less!"
"And now you deserve this yummy food!" Ranma slightly bowed down and placed her food on the table.
"Umm, this smells so delicious, Ranma! I wonder how you make things like this so easily!"
Ranma took a chair and sat beside her as he enjoyed the way Kasumi was devouring her food. He never saw Kasumi eating like this, but after being pregnant, her apatite surely changed for good.
"Umm Ranma! It tastes so good! You have to give me the recipe!"
"Tsk.. I will teach Tofu- san! He will cook for you."
Kasumi smiled at him and said,
"Ranma, why don't you and Akane start planning for a baby? Its already been five years.. We really want to see a baby who looks like a mix of you two! Aww, I am going to spoil that baby for sure!!"
Ranma blushed hearing that, he laughed nervously and said,
"Umm yeah.. Maybe after she finishes her education fully.."
"Oh my! That means this year you guys are planning! Oh that's so exciting!"
Ranma scratched his cheek feeling shy to talk about this openly as he said,
"Maybe, if she wants then, why not.."
Ring* Ring* Ring*
Both of them turned to see the phone. Ranma stood up in haste and said,
"Don't worry, I will get that.."
Ranma walked to the hall to answer the call. He picked up the phone and asked,
"Hello?"
"Ranma! I am glad you are there!"
"Tofu, san! Hey don't worry, I came here just in time."
"Please stay by her side all the time! I will be on my way.."
"Calm down! You don't have to worry much, I am here with her."
Ranma heard a sigh from the other side of the phone,
"Ranma, what about Akane? Is she coming too?"
"Yes.. she will come here within two hours."
"What! But why two hours?"
"Uhh.. because she has an exam."
"Oh no! Ranma listen to me, don't panic okay. I will be right there as quickly as possible.."
Ranma scratched his forehead and said,
"You are one who is panicking, man! Look, You don't have to worry about anything. I will take good care of your wife."
Tofu sighs and said,
"I wouldn't have panicked if your mother was there too. There is some stuff a woman understands much better then man! Anyway, when are they returning home from their trip?"
"I am not sure! Last night I talked with my Mom and she seems very frustrated with how my pop and Mr Tendo are behaving! I don't think she would be able to stay at that shrine with them! Maybe she will return soo.."
"AHHHHH! OH KAMI!"
Ranma's whole body shook with fear as a terrifying whisper came out from his lips,
"Kasumi-san!"
"RANMA!! HELP.."
"What happened, Ranma!? Why is Kasumi screaming. .. HEY TALK TO ME!!"
"L-later!"
Ranma quickly replied and rushed towards Kasumi. He quickly reached her side and saw her, as she tried to stand by herself, taking help from the table. Her face had a painful expression and it looked as if she was having difficulty breathing.
"K- Kasumi-san?!"
Kasumi hastily turned to face him and said in a panic tone,
"Ranma.. Help me, I think.. I think my water has broken!"
"Your water?" Ranma looked at the sink, wondering.
"RANMA! Baka, I said MY WATER HAS BROKE!! Ahhh!!"
Her painful scream made him realize his mistake, he quickly ran to her side. He was not daring to touch her, as he asked her in a panicked tone,
"Ok..ok calm down.. Please tell me what should I do?"
" Ranma ..Ranma AHHH..!!"

At that exact moment for the very first time he saw with his own eyes what she really meant by saying about her water break. His eyes went wide with shock, hos body became frozen, his whole body started shivering with an unknown fear as he didn't had any clue what the next step he should take!
"RANMA! Please do something!" Kasumi whimpers in a panicked tone.
"OKAY! OKAY, I WILL HELP YOU! Wait here!" Ranma quickly ran towards the kitchen and grabbed one big bowl in his hand. Honestly, he had no clue what he was doing at that moment and at that exact moment he realized why Tofu was asking for Akane and his mother.
"Ranma, what are you doing!! Mmphh, this won't help.."
In his frightening state he started breathing hard as he asked her in a helpless tone,
"Kasumi-san! Please tell me what to do?! I am not sure.."
"Umphh.. Call an ambulance! QUICKLY!!"
Ranma didn't have to be told a second time, he rushed towards the phone and called the emergency number. After the call, he again rushed to her side.
"Kasumi-san, ambulance is coming, don't worry."
Kasumi was sitting on the chair, her head over the table as slow moans started coming out from her open mouth.
"Oneechan! Hey..Kasumi-san.." Ranma realized with fear that she couldn't take the pain anymore. He took a deep breath and carefully took her in his arms. He tucked her cloths carefylly and carried her bride style.
"Sorry, Oneechan; but I don't think we should wait for an ambulance anymore ."
Kasumi could barely keep her eyes open, but she tried to ask him in an uncertain whisper,
"But.. Ranma.."
"Please just trust me and please don't faint! I will take you to the hospital right now!"
Kasumi closed her eyes feeling exhausted, her breathing was uneven as he clasped her hand tightly on Ranma's collar.
Ranma leaps from building to building as he holds Kasumi tightly. In a record speed he reached the local hospital. He ran towards the reception and told the receptionist in an urgent tone,
"WE NEED HELP! PLEASE!!"
The woman on the receptionist immediately recognized Kasumi as Dr Tofu's wife. She quickly made everything ready for her and in a matter of time they shifted her inside a delivery room.
Ranma started pacing nervously. Every second felt like hours to him. His clothes were wet, his face sweaty, in one word, he was a complete mess! He gulped nervously and cursed his luck. Just then, the doctor came out from the delivery room and said to Ranma in a serious tone,
"She is going to give birth now.."
"What! But she still has two weeks.."
"I know, but early delivery is very normal.. Do you want to come inside? Mrs Ono is actually very anxious, which might affect her BP. If you stay there by her side to encourage her then she might.."
"But I am not her husband.. How can I go inside?"
"Don't worry, she is ok with it if you come inside. I think she is scared and needs your support now."
Ranma was fully uncertain about what to do next. He hesitatingly nodded his head and agreed, but soon he started regretting his decision.
"AHHHHHH!!!"
"Yes, you can do it! Push harder Mrs!!"
"OH MY GOD!! I CANT!!"
"Push, please push;"
Ranma's ears started buzzing. His whole world started twirling strangely. He couldn't make sense on anything. He kept looking at Kasumi with a distant expression as he held her hand tightly. He could see how much she was suffering. Her tears and agony-filled cries made him feel helpless in such a way he never felt before. She pressed her fingernails deeply over his hand and squeezed it tightly. But for some reason he couldn't feel the pain on his hand at all.
"Mr Ranma!"
"Ranma!"
"Ranma!!"
"Huh!" Ranma breathlessly looked up at the doctor. She gave him a serious look and said,
"She is fainting! Don't let her faint. Talk to her.. Keep her awake.."
He quickly looked at her. He never saw her exhausted like this. He took a deep breath and started creasing her hair as he pleaded her with urgency,
"Kasumi-san! Please hold on! You can't faint! You have to keep your eyes open!"
Kasumi's face was dripping with sweat, she looked at Ranma with pain in her eyes and nodded her head as she moaned in pain,
"Mrs, you need to push harder now! I can see the baby's head.. Push a little bit.."
Ranma started trembling in anxiousness as he said with a shaky tone, "Kasumi-san! Hold on to me tightly!!"
Kasumi did as he told her to do. She gave all her strength by holding on to his hand. She screamed in pain and kept trying her best.
His heart pained with every moan that was coming from her. He took a deep breath and kept creasing her hair. He started to encourage her more which helped her to stay awake. Time ticked by quickly and soon the doctor announced happily,
"CONGRATULATIONS!! IT'S A BOY!"

Akane came running to the hospital. When she returned from her university she got to know about Kasumi from the neighbors. She did not take long to reach the hospital, hoping for the best. She asked the receptionist and she showed her the way and gave her the room number where Kasumi was staying at that moment. She quickly ran up the stairs and when she reached the room, her heart dropped with anxiety when she saw Ranma.
He was motionlessly sitting outside the room. His features were completely a mess, his dress wet and slightly torn. He was blankly looking up at the ceiling and he looked extremely exhausted and broken too..
"Ranma!"
Akane ran to his side immediately. She cupped his sweaty face with her soft hands, her hands shaky and asked him in fear.
"Ranma, is everything okay? Kasumi?"
He looked at her tiredly and whispered harshly,
"She is fine. It's a boy!"
Akane gave a relieved laugh; she couldn't hold on to her tears anymore. Seeing Ranma like this made her so worried for everything. But now that she knows everything is fine, a shower of relief washed all over her.
"Ranma!! You dummy! Then why are you sitting like this? You should be happy!"
Ranma kept looking at her; his eyes trying to tell her about his fear, about the experience that tormented him fully, but he couldn't express it to her openly.
"Baby?" Akane asks with a concern-filled tone, "Are you okay?"
In his reply, he sighed and shook his head. He silently placed his head over her belly and hugged her tightly.
"I love you so much, Kane.."
Six months later
"Awww, he is so adorable!!"
Akane cried out happily when she saw Kasumi's six-month-old son happily playing in his crib. The baby gurgled cheerfully and instantly recognized Akane. He held his both hands up and started moving excitedly. Akane giggled seeing that and carefully took him to her arms and started playing with him.
"Oh my, he loves you so much, Akane! He was crying so much a few minutes ago."
"Is it, Kei?" She carefully laid him on the bed and started tickling him on his belly with her head, making him laugh as he held her head with his all fours. "You love me, tell me you love me.."
Kasumi giggled and watched her sister playing with her son. Akane never missed a day to pay them a visit since she gave birth. Kei got so used to Akane that if somehow she couldn't make it here, he would start crying for her.
That day Nabiki also came back to stay with Kasumi for a few days. But the problem is, wherever Nabiki holds Kei, he always whines and moves to get out from her arm. Which is why Nabiki became jealous when she saw Kei happily playing with Akane.
Nabiki sighed and said,
"Why doesn't he play with me like this!? This is not fair!"
"It's called love at first sight, sis! We fell in love with each other the day we first saw each other." Akane said while making faces over Kei, making him gurgle in happiness.
Kasumi giggled and sat on the bed with both her sisters as the three sisters started talking, laughing and playing with the centre of the attraction. Kei soon fell asleep in Akane's arms. She slowly patted him on his back and sit back comfortably, holding him closely.
"You can put him in the crib, dear."
Akane shook her head and said,
"I need him to curdle me.."
Nabiki chuckled and said,
"You are really good with kids, huh Akane. You should think of getting one , you know.."
"Oh my, Nabiki you are right! Akane dear, why don't you and Ranma start a family together? I mean I am sure this is the right time. Why are you guys waiting for?"
Akane blushed hard as she is not used to talking to her elder sisters about this type of topics. She sighed deeply and said,
"I.. I tried to tell him… but.."
"But what!" Nabiki asked.
Akane shook her head slightly and said,
"It's complicated.."
"Huh! Oh my, does Ranma have any problem!"
"No! He is completely fine." Akane quickly protested.
"Then do you have any issues?" Nabiki asked plainly.
"No, no,no.. We both are fine.."
Kasumi and Nabiki gave each other a strange look. Nabiki turned to face Akane and asked,
"Then what's the problem? You guys have been married for more than five years now. What is stopping you two?"
Kasumi Laid her hand on her cheek in a worried manner as she said,
"Come to think of it, I remember I talked about this with Ranma not too long ago and he told me he wants to have a baby if Akane is ready to take it.. Akane, your studies is finished, isn't it? Then why are you not ready take his baby? Is there any problem?"
"Of course not, Oneechan! My studies have nothing to do with it! I am always ready to start a family with him! Its just.. It's just.. he.."
"Look sister, you can trust us and tell us everything and I promise it won't cost you anything. Our advice is free of cost.."
Akane moaned feeling uncomfortable. She helplessly looked at her sisters and said,
"I want to take a baby, alright! But I don't know why, Ranma runs away from me whenever I ask for a baby."
"Oh my, that's cruel!"
"You mean, you guys stopped having sex.."
"Oh my my my, Nabki, you can't just ask our imouto such a question directly !!" Kasumi whispered, shaking her head disappointedly.
Akane moaned in embarrassment and pouted at Nabiki,
"You should know where to stop, Nabiki."
Nabiki was confused as she said,
"What's the problem of asking about having sex directly? You guys are so lame! For God's sake, this imouto of us is much more mature than us! She's not only married for five years; she openly had a romantic relationship with Ranma for two long years! Do you have any idea how many times I had to throw my book on the wall to make them stop from making sound !"
"Oh my, I didn't know that.!" Kasumi said, blushing madly.
Nabiki laughed and continued saying,
"Why do you think I left the home, sis!"
"WOULD YOU CUT IT, NABIKI!"
Akane's voice made Kei stir in his sleep, she immediately started rocking him to make him fall asleep. He just rubbed his face on her chest and fell back to sleep again,
"Aww my sweet baby…" Then she remembered what Nabiki asked her. She heatedly looked at her and said, "Thanks for nothing, Nabiki! And to answer your question, No! We didn't stop having sex! It's just.. It's…. He...He has been extra careful with me! And he never gave into my plea to make me pregnant.."
For a moment, the room got fully quiet as the three of them lost on their own thoughts. Then Nabiki asked Kasumi,
"Say , Kasumi; when was the last time you had this conversation with Ranma? About starting a family?"
Kasumi thought for a second and said,
"Its the day when Kei was born. Oh my, you know that day still hunts me. Poor Ranma had to go through so much. He freaked out so badly! You know, dr said if Ranma had bought me to the hospital a minute later anything could have happened to me. He actually saved both of us. And he was so brave when he decided to be with me on the labor room. He held my hand all the time and saw everything happening.."
"Wait a minute, you are saying Ranma was there at the time of the delivery? I didn't know that.."
"Yes, Nabiki. He was so brave. He stood by my side and helped me a lot.."
Nabiki chuckled and shook her head,
"You remember one incident Kasumi, after they had returned from their China trip how clumsily Akane tripped on the stairs and hurt herself? And how Ranma reacted when Akane was admitted to the hospital for a simple arm fracture?"
"Umm.. Oh yes! Poor him, he was so terrified. Come to think of it, that was the first time I saw him breaking down in tears in front of his mother."
"He is always like this whenever it comes to Akane. He can't seem to see her in pain.. It's obvious why he doesn't want a baby now." Nabiki said, shrugging her shoulders.
Akane was quiet all the time as she heard her sisters talking. Suddenly, the memory of that day came to back her mind, making her heart flutter with love for that baka. That was the day he declared his love to her and as they said, he was fully broken that day; and because of that incident she finally understood how the Jusenkyo incidents had affected his mental health. And from that day on she made sure to be by his side no matter what the consequences would be. But then, when she heard Nabiki's last words, she looked up at her wondering and asked her,
"Nabiki, do you mean to say.."
Nabiki smiled at her and said,
"Maybe he is scared to hurt you. Maybe he doesn't want to see you in the same situation he had to witness for Kasumi. Maybe he doesn't want to see you in pain at all.."
"Oh my, does this mean, my labor has tormented him? Oh Ranma, Ranma, Ranma.."
Akane finally understood the situation now. She looked down at Kei and began thinking about her husband. It started to make sense to her now. Before, he was ready to have a baby with her. But after that day at the hospital, he has fully changed. Whenever she asked him for a baby; he always freaks out. It never happened before, after finishing her studies they wanted to try for a baby and when she reminded him about this, he declined it immediately. She saw anger in his eyes, frustrations, helplessness and something that she couldn't understand. But now, after hearing everything, she understood what it was. It was fear for her, he is traumatized! She should have guessed it, but she is an idiot! She should have understood what he was going through.. Now that she knows it, she would have to make everything better for him and make him believe that everything will be alright..
"Akane dear, I am sorry. Because of me.."
"Please no, Kasumi- Oneechan. I will think of something.."
"Just make him believe that it's okay for you to have a child, Akane! I know you can do it.. Anything goes, Akane Saotome." Nabiki said with a smile on her face.
Ranma yawned tiredly and walked up to the washroom. He took a quick shower and got ready for bed. As he entered their bedroom, he was shocked to find Akane standing there, wearing a silk nightgown, with a big sexy smile on her face as she waited for him to come in.
His sleepiness gone instantly; he walked towards her with a smirk and pulled her towards him to give her a hug. Giving her a kiss on the nape of her neck, he asked her in a sweet whisper tone,
"I missed you, baby.. I didn't even hear you coming. When did you return.."
"Umm.. not too long ago." Akane moaned and broke their hug and intensely looked at him and whispered huskily, "Tell me, Ranma. Do you like what you see?"
Ranma growled and looked at her up and down, and whispered huskily,
"My lucky day.." and captured her lips with a long passionate kiss.
Few intimate minutes later, they broke the kiss as Ranma tried to get more close with her. But Akane stopped him and hugged him tightly and said in his ear.
"I love you so much, Ranma.."
Ranma started trailing kisses down her shoulder, his hands wandering throughout her body as he breathlessly hissed back to her,
"I love you too.."
Akane moaned as she closed her eyes in satisfaction. He knows very well how to please her and how to take her breath away. She grabbed his shoulders tightly to control herself, she bites his ear and whispered,
"Ranma, today we have to try for a baby.."
He stopped. He kept hugging her for a few seconds. Still panting, he gradually broke their hug and looked at her intensely.
"I said we won't talk about this."
Akane blinked her eyes and whispered,
"But I wanted to talk about it!"
"Later.."
Saying that with a frustrated growl he leaned down on her neck and bite her slightly. Akane whimpered and held his braid and pulled his head to make him look at her.
"I want to talk about it now!"
Ranma gave a frustrated sigh and said,
"You are spoiling the mood, Kane!"
"I don't care! I need a baby!"
"I don't need any baby.. I need only you..!"
Saying that with a breathless tone, he again tried to resume his task, but she again stopped him and looked at him hard,
"What about my needs, Ranma? I need a baby! And I need it NOW!"
Ranma growled and asked her in an impatience manner,
"Can we talk about this later?"
"No! And if you wont give me a baby, then I.." She pushed him slightly and moved away from his arms. Then taking her robe from the bed she covered herself fully as she said, "No baby, you won't get anything.."
"WHAT!! But that's not fair!!"
"Of course it's fair!"
"Look, Akane, stop joking right now! Ya just can't turn me on like this and leave me hanging! I am not a candle, baka!"
"Whatever! I don't care! I need a baby!"
"Aww! You are so stubborn!"
"So are you!"
"Look, tomboy.."
He couldn't say much as a pillow flew over his face.
Akane went up to her bed and said,
"If you don't agree then you can sleep in the other room."
"What!!! Kane but.."
Akane gave him a deadly stare to him. He growled angrily and said,
"FINE! Be like that! But listen to me loud and clear , you won't get any baby from me!"
"We will see about that!"
She cried out angrily and got inside her blanket.
"Uncute Tomboy.." Ranma mumbled pouting and left the room in silence.
The Next day
Ranma grumbled as he slowly walked towards the kitchen to make breakfast. He couldn't sleep a blink last night. He forgot the last time he slept without her, and he made up his mind to make her regret what she did last night. He won't talk to her until she asks for forgiveness. Maybe then, he would talk to her about this, and perhaps she would stop insisting after that.
As he reached the kitchen, a beautiful humming sound came to his ear. He smiled as he recognized her voice immediately, honestly, he loves her voice so much, he could hear it all day long, even for months or years and he knows, he won't complain. He sighed and went inside and his heartbeat stopped for a second. The dress she wore last night tortured him all night; but now, the short white shorts she is wearing are almost taking his breath away.
He could swear that, she is purposefully doing this to torture him. And who the hell wears such clothes while cooking or why'd they sway their hips like that.
"Damn it, tomboy!"
Ranma growled in a frustrated whisper. He walked towards her in urgency and attacked her from behind.
Akane heard when he entered the kitchen and paused for a moment. His angry growl made her smile with victory. But before she could say or do anything, as expected, he grabbed her from behind and quickly turned her to face him.
He captured her lips with a desperate kiss, which earned him a moan from his wife. He pulled her up in his arms as she circled her legs around his waist and pulled him painfully closer to her. The sexual tension was so thick between them that it made both of them desperate for each other's touch and for a moment, Akane forgot why she started this game in the first place.
In one point, Ranma placed her on the kitchen counter as he started trailing kissing down her neck, taking her breath away fully. Akane curled her toes behind his back and pulled him closer to her,
"I missed you, Kane.."
His husky whisper brought some sense back to her, she whimpered and pushed him slightly. He gave her a look of hurt as she said,
"I need a baby.."
Ranma was ready to bang his head in frustration, he whined helplessly and pleadingly looked up at her,
"Baby… No Baby.."
Akane slyly smiled at him as she triles a finger down his neck and whispered to him,
"Baby.. No Baby.. No me.."
She gave him a sweet kiss on his lip and excused herself. She carefully got down from the counter and left the room, swaying her hips to give him more view..
Ranma growled angrily and called out frustratingly,
"YOU UNCUTE UNSEXY TOMBOY!!"
Three days later
"That's enough! I am out of here!"
Ranma said with an angry growl as he started packing his stuff in a hurry. He was feeling way too frustrated to think clearly right now! He thought Akane would understand him and eventually would stop insisting him for a baby. But it's like she has become blinded by only one thought, that she wants a baby, that's it! For three days in a row, she kept seducing him, torturing him by wearing seductive clothes and not letting him touch her unless he gave her a baby and the worst part is that she even stopped sleeping with him! He understood he needed to take action to make her stop. That's why he decided to leave for a few days. He doesn't know how he would manage without her, but he atleast have to try for Akane's sake.
"Where are you going, Ranma?"
Akane asked casually as she entered his old bedroom.
Ranma looked up at her and said plainly,
"I am leaving for a trip.."
Akane giggled and walked towards him and hugged him from behind,
"Where? In the living room?"
"Haha! Very funny, but I am serious this time. I am leaving and I won't return soon."
Akane sighs and made him sit on the futon. She sat face to face with him, held his hand and said,
"Ranma, I want to ask you some questions and you have to promise me that you will be honest with me.. Please.."
Ranma looked at her sadly and nodded,
"Okay, ask me.."
Akane choose her questions carefully, knowing very well how to push him as she asked,
"Are you getting tired of me?"
"Huh?!" he was not expecting to hear that.
"Maybe you are tired of me and that's why you are leaving me..?"
"I am NOT tired of you! I can never get tired of you! It's just.. I am TIRED of you asking me for a baby all the time."
"So, you don't want a baby from me? Don't you want to start a family with me? Am I not good enough!"
"YOU.." her words started making him feel guilty and angry at himself for making her doubt like that. He growled and said, "We are already a family! We don't need any baby for that."
"But you always wanted a baby. A little version of me as I always wanted a little version of you. What changed now?"
"You don't understand, Kane.." Ranma whispered as he looked down.
"Then make me understand.." She pleaded.
Ranma looked at her eyes with fear in his eyes as he said,
"You were not there, I WAS THERE! I saw with my own eyes how much suffering Kasumi had to go through to be a mother. She was hurting, crying; I don't want you to suffer like that! I can't see you suffer like that! No! NEVER!!"
Akane sighs, her heart flattered with love for him. She kisses his on his cheeks and said,
"Sometimes I wonder ,how come you love me so much? But Ranma, I want you to know that whatever it is I am ready to be a mother. You are worrying for nothing! Maybe you were not ready to face that phrase that time and that's why you are still anxious about that day. But I promise you, Ranma; this is okay. You don't have to panic like this! You all guys are here to take care of me. I am not alone."
"That's the thing , Kane. We are not alone and we don't need anyone new! You know what, think of me as a kid, you don't need one."
Akane moaned hearing that as she said,
"I don't have to imagine that, baka; you are a kid.!" She sighs and circled her arms around his neck and said,
"Trust me, baby. I can do it, you can do it! Let us at least try. For once please.."
"You don't get what I said!" He gave a frustrated growl and stood up hastily. "I don't want to make you pregnant, damn it! That's why I decided to leave. So that when I come back home you will realize that being together is important; not being a parent. You should value your partner.."
Saying that arrogantly, he took his backpack on his back and started walking out of the house. He reached the hall, hoping deep down she would call him to stop him, he didn't want to leave her for one second. And when she actually called him to stop, his heart immediately leapt with joy, but what she said afterwards made his heart drop immensely..
Akane couldn't believe what he was doing. He decided to leave her because he was scared to make her pregnant! She knows he loves her and thats why he is acting like this; but she can't let anxiousness and fear win against her family life. She growled angrily and ran towards the stairs and yelled at the top her lungs,
"YOU WANNA GO, MR SAOTOME? THEN LEAVE! I WON'T STOP YOU! BUT REMEMBER, IF YOU ACT STUBBORNLY; BOTH OF US CAN PLAY THE SAME GAME! I SAID I WANT A BABY; MEANS I WANT A BABY! I DON'T CARE IF IT WOULD HAVE A BRAID, A FORGETNESS PROBLEM OR NAVIGATION PROBLEM OR FENGS ON HIS MOUTH! THE POINT IS I WANNA BE A MOTHER AND I WILL BE A MOTHER! WITH YOU OR WITHOUT YOU!! AND IF YOU CALL AND DON'T HAVE ANY NEWS OF ME, YOU CAN CALL REWEKENZAWA AND YOU CAN FIND ME THERE ALL THE TIME!! YOU HEAR ME IDIOT!! GOOD BYE!!"
Akane didn't hear any noise from downstairs. She assumed that he left without hearing what she said. She sniffed and gave a frustrated growl. She was still feeling very angry! Last four days was a complete hell for her. Keeping him away from her when she wanted him closer to her so bad, was so hard for her. She forgot the last time she slept without him. But for the last four days, she didn't let him sleep beside him, fearing she wouldn't be able to control herself and resist his touch. The sexual tension between them tortured her as much as it frustrated him. The difference was, he could openly show his frustration to her, but she had to hide her feelings from him. Suddenly, she started to feel dizy and decided to return to her room. She reached her room and silently closed the door, looking down.
"You were joking when you said that, right?"
Akane hastily turned around, her palm over her beating heart as she was surprised to find Ranma sitting on her bed with a foul expression on his face. She slapped her hand over her forehead and shook her head. She gave him a hard look and muttered,
"Why are you here? You were going for a trip , weren't you?"
"Well.. you were right, I could only reach the kitchen until I heard your long speech of motherhood.." He stood up and slowly made his way towards her. "Please don't tell me you were serious about what you said.."
She growled angrily and grabbed his collar tightly. She jerked him slightly and whispered harshly,
"You know what, I hate myself for loving you so badly, baka.."
Ranma smirked and pulled her closer to him and hugged her with all his might . After few moments, he gave a tender kiss on her shoulder blade and whispered in her ear,
"So, ... are you ready for a small version of me?"
Akane giggled hearing that, her eyes wet with happy tears as she nodded her head and tightened her hold on him…
"More than ready, baka.."
A year later
~~~Hey, I think he is opening his eyes.." Kuno's voice sounded worried.~~~
~~"Move aside! Let some air pass." Tofu declared~~
~~"Oh my, he is moving..!"~~
~~~"Ranma..~~~
~~~ "Is he awake?"~~~~
~~~ "Oh Ranma..~~~~
Ranma's mind swirled mercilessly. He could hear every buzzing whispers which were roaming around his head, but for some reason he couldn't open his eyes.
~~~ "Is he okay, Tofu-san?"~~~
~~ "You lay back down, Akane.."~~~~
'Akane..'
'Akane….'
'Akane……'
"KANE!!!!!!!"
Ranma screamed out breathlessly as he forcefully snapped his eyes open. The first thing he saw was white everywhere. He took a long breath and sat up in panic..
"Hey calm down, Ranma! Everything is fine.."
Nabiki's tone made him pause, he looked at his side and saw Kasumi, Kuno, Nabiki, Tofu, all were standing their with a big happy face. Then he remembered where is he now.. And whats the reason behind it..
"OH NO! Where is Akane?"
Kasumi giggled and helped Ranma to stand up.
"Oh Ranma, we were so worried about you! You fainted in the middle of her delivery! But don't worry, Akane is just fine. Look at her.."
Kasumi pointed at the bed which was right beside the sofa he was lying on moments ago. Akane had a tired smile on her face as she looked at him with worry in her eyes.
Ranma sighed and ran towards her lying body and hugged her tightly. He broke their hug and started creasing her hair lovingly as he said with a soft whisper tone,
"Kami, you look so tired.."
Akane tried to give him an assuring smile, and tries her best to keep her eyes open for him.
"I am fine, Ranma. Just a bit sleepy that's all.."
"You tomboy, you almost gave me a heart attack!" Ranma said with a painful tone as he remembered the event which made him collapse. Just like Kasumi, Akane had an early labor and he had to bring her hospital, running. But this time when he saw Akane going through pain and saw her crying; he lost it completely and fainted on the spot.
"Ranma, do you want to see her?" Akane asked him with a soft tone.
Ranma's heart skipped a bit when he heard about their baby, "Our daughter?" he asked choking, not being able to control his emotions anymore.
"Yes, Ranma.. Your daughter.." She sniffed tiredly and tried to wipe his tears with her shaky hands.
"Ranma.."
Tofu came behind them, and with a big smile on his face as he carefully presented Ranma his pink bundle of joy.
Ranma carefully took his baby in his arms with a big sigh. He kept looking at her with adoration as a satisfying smile spread over his tired face.
"She is beautiful, Kane.. Just like you.."
Akane giggled as Ranma showed her the baby.
"Isn't it sweet, finally our couple have their own munchkin! It would sure make a great headline in Nerima today!"
Nabiki said smirking as she took out her new DSLR and said,
"Flash off, now guys please look at the frame, I need a good picture of you.. Now say cheese!!"
"Cheese!!" Ranma and Akane both said in unison as Nabiki took a quick picture of them.
"Let me see! Let me see! Oh my, this picture looks so adorable!" Kasumi said, squealing in happiness.
"Yeah, this picture is so adorable! What do you think, Kuno dear."
Kuno looked at the picture and said in a dreamy state,
"Akane, my tiger-spirited Goddess.." Nabiki growled at him, "I mean she is looking beautiful as usual, honey!"
Nabiki shook her head at her idiotic husband and said, "Why did I even ask you.. Anyway, So tell me you two, when can we expect the second round to the hospital? You did took long to have the first baby. I hope the second one won't take this long!" Nabiki asked, jokingly, somewhat teasing Ranma.
Akane giggled hearing that as she started to say,
"Umm maybe.."
"Kane.."
Akane paused her answer and looked at Ranma and asked..
"Yes, baby.."
He smiled at her as he kissed her forehead lovingly said in a serious tone,
"No more babies….."
A/N: I hope you enjoyed this fic guys! As their die heart fan, I always wondered how Ranma would really react when Akane would go with labour pain :). I really really enjoyed writing this fic! This one is my new favourite ;p.
