Prologue: The Night of the Star Festival

Every hundred years, a huge comet flies by in the skies above the Mushroom Kingdom. One year, that comet filled the entire sky, and from it fell a stream of shooting stars. The Toads scooped up the Star Bits and brought them to the castle, where they were reborn as a great Power Star. That was the night of the star festival, held once every hundred years to celebrate the arrival and passing of the comet. It is a happy time for the citizens of the Mushroom Kingdom…

The time has come to celebrate the Mushroom Kingdon's annual star festival. Across Toad Town are our many Toad friends putting on the final touches of tonight's festivities around the city. They sure are eager to get things started but the party cannot begin until the final guest has arrived. While our friends wait for everything to begin let's go see what is going down at Peach's Castle…

"It is almost time for the Star Festival." said Princess Peach watching from atop the front balcony. "I hope he gets here soon."

Here at the castle, we have our beloved princess waiting happily above for a very special friend of hers to arrive. Suddenly, a shiny bright light which looks like a shooting star appears in the sky catching her highness's attention…

"Oh lovely, a shooting star has appeared." said Peach as she looked up. "Time to make a wish."

As Peach began to close her eyes she quickly stopped and noticed that the star seemed to get brighter like it was headed toward her. Without hesitation the princess quickly moved to the side as this object crash landed right beside her making a rough landing…

"Oh! What can this star-shaped thing be?" worried Peach staring at the object lying beside her. "Are you alright little star?"

Hearing the princess's words the star shaped object slowly rose up looking around at its new surroundings…

"Mama, Mama? Are you here?" said the scared little star. "Mama?"

Peach crouched down toward the little star hoping to find out more information…

"Excuse me little star do you need some help?" said Peach. "Are you looking for your Mama?"

The star hearing her voice turned toward the crouched princess…

"Hello, are you, my Mama?" said the little star.

Peach gave a sad look on her face as she didn't want to disappoint the little one…

"Oh, I'm sorry little star but I am your not Mama." said Peach.

Hearing her words, the little star quickly burst into tears…

"Mama, Mama!" cried the little star. "I can't find my Mama!"

The little star was pouring tears over Peach's words. She quickly grabbed the star and gave it a soft warm hug hoping to calm it down with comfort…

"Shh, there, there little star." comforted the princess. "I'm sure we can find your mama."

The little star peacefully calmed down and took a relaxing breath taking in the warmth of the princess's hug…

"My name is Princess Peach." said Peach. "And you are?"

Both the star and Peach rose up and began to get to know one another…

"My name is Baby Luma." said the little star child. "Nice to meet you."

"And you as well." said Peach. "So, Baby Luma, welcome to the Mushroom Kingdom." "How did you get here?"

Baby Luma then told Peach all about how it had been traveling the cosmos with its family. Eventually their ship was attacked by an unknown figure, and he got knocked off board falling all the way down toward the kingdom…

"Oh, that is just terrible!" said Peach. "Well don't you worry Baby Luma." "I have a very special friend of mine coming real soon." "I'm sure with his help we can find your Mama faster than you think!" "Until then why don't you wait with me?"

Baby Luma jumped excitedly with joy after hearing the news. As they waited Peach began to tell her new companion about tonight's festival and her special one. One moment later a couple of guards came out to inform Peach that the final guest had just arrived. It's time to party! They also noticed Baby Luma alongside Peach and had questions, so Peach then explained the current situation to the two. With everything fine, the guards headed back inside to resume their duties…

"He'll be here soon Baby Luma." said Peach.

Now let's have a Star Festival…
