What have I done?
You seem to move uneasy.

He was saying all the things she was afraid to and she realized he could read her like he never could before. But they were not in the past, they were not fighting each other or a common enemy.

It was just them now and forever.

It had only been a few years for her, for him, much longer. Time had changed him some. She would stay by his side, and he didnt even have to ask, but to what end?

She looked at their hands, their power. Yeah, he sought it, but she would be lying if she said she wasn't. She knew no ordinary man would be enough for her, but did that mean he was her only choice? Was she his?

As much as she wanted this realness, this closeness, she did not want to be a backup, a last-ditch choice, because he waited too long.

She looked up at him and he saw her body tense some. Her hand went lax in his, her power faded a little.

"Miko?"

Kagome looked away.

"Is this about Inuyasha?"

She looked back. "Of course it isn't,"

"Then why do you move so uneasy?"

"Haven't I always around you?"

"No, not even against my sword,"

"I will stay by your side, how can I not,"

He listened, slightly confused.

Kagome looked around. People were looking at him ever so often, no doubt in awe of his beauty.

Sesshomaru moved, brushing her hair behind her shoulder; he leaned into her ear. "I have been waiting a long time for this moment, but if you need more time, I can't wait longer still,"

Kagome turns slowly to him, forgetting all the other people; their faces are close.

"Waiting for what?"

"Have you not been listening, Miko? You. Our destiny is tied, entwined like our hands are now, as strong as our power can be. I am not a man of words, Kagome you know this,"

But still, her heart wondered. She suddenly missed him; she didnt know she missed him. She suddenly needed him, and she didnt know she needed him. She suddenly wanted him in a way she never wanted before. He knew a long time ago; she knew now.

"You are not my last choice, woman; you were my only choice," He pulled on her, and she fell toward him and locked his mouth to hers.

He was not a man of words; all he could do was show her because he was always good at public display.

She was frozen in time for a moment. Shocked but warm. Afraid but at peace. Calm, yet crazy.

His lips move; she could either back away or move with him. She closed her eyes and let herself feel. His lips were warm, soft, and dominating in a romantic kinda way.

Past forgotten, future blank, all there was was right now.

Destiny had its way, but Sesshomaru always played by his own rules. The past took her; he followed, ready to claim her when she was ready.

He let her break the kiss, and their foreheads set against each other.

"Do you understand now?"

She was breathless,

"I am aware this is new to you-"

"Sesshomaru,"

Their eyes met. "Can we get out of here?"

He raised an elegant eyebrow but wasted no time in paying for their drinks and whisking her away.

Their hands stayed together, and their eyes stayed locked, but the ride was silent.

They arrived at another building. "One of many homes, but it is the closest," He did dare hope for more than kissing. She still needed time, he was sure.

He took her up, and once inside, he reluctantly let her hand go; she looked around, then she turned to him, and she started to move uneasily again.

"You are afraid,"

"No, just unsure,"

"I can not make it any clearer,"

"No, it's not you, it's me,"

That stung, and the hurt must have been a bit evident on his face,

"No, I dont mean it like that either; it's just-

"You are not good with words,"

"I dont know how to talk to you," She breathed,

"Then do not talk,"

She blushed. "I, I dont know how to move around you,"

He walked to her. "Then I shall lead if you will agree,"

"Agree?"

He grabbed her hand again and leaned down, their lips close again. "To marry me, mate me, whatever so long as we are bound to one another, it does not have to be today, nor tomorrow nor the next day, so as you say yes,"

Her heart lept. Her lips told him her answer. He lead and though shy, she moved with him.
