Author's Note: In case you didn't see the last AN, I have concept art for Pyrrha's new weapon on my deviantart account. Fear not, you wont find anything kinky, just the cover art and fanart for my stories.

The tour of Beacon had gone quickly. While Ruby and Yang were both impressed with the grandeur of the school, Ruby was far more focused on seeing Pyrrha's weapon in action. Yang walked with Coco, looking on with a smile as Pyrrha told Ruby everything she knew about the school on their way to the arena.
Ruby was nearly vibrating with anticipation as Pyrrha squared off against Fox. While she had offered to spar against the younger girl, Ruby had insisted that she wasn't ready, much to Pyrrha's dismay.
Ruby was a good fighter, a fair step above the average first year of Beacon, and it hurt to see her not believe in herself. Pyrrha knew that with a few more years of practice, Ruby would have been able to give her a run for her money. In her new body, Ruby had a very good chance of winning.
Still, Ruby would become more confident in time, she just hoped that she would be there to see it.
Turning to face Fox, Pyrrha withdrew Allos from its sheath. She hesitated for a moment, before deciding against using her shield. Nobody else in the room knew about it yet, although she suspected that Velvet and Ruby had noticed something off about it, as the two of them were too familiar with weapons to not notice the mechanisms required for transforming weapons. Despite that, it was still largely a secret, and one she intended to keep for the time being.
It likely wouldn't matter in the long run, and she knew that her friends wouldn't care, but if she could keep it a secret up until when she fought Cinder it may just save her life. If it caused the monster to hesitate even for a second, then it was worth it.
Pyrrha gripped her sword with both hands, squaring her shoulders and waiting for Coco to announce that the match could begin. The seconds continued to drag on, Team CFVY's leader always being one for theatrics, but eventually her voice echoed through the room.
"Begin!"
Before Coco had even finished the word, Pyrrha had already leapt forward at her opponent. Fox was skilled, more so than most people understood given his major handicap, but that was just the point. Pyrrha had an advantage over her opponent, she could see. She wasn't fully aware of how Fox's semblance worked, but from what she had gathered it only gave him a general idea of where people were, not what they were doing.
She was excited to see how he managed to fight given the limitation.
It was for that reason that when Fox brought one of his tonfa up to block her strike Pyrrha smiled and pulled back, just as he brought his second blade up. It was a near thing, but the strike failed to connect with her aura. As she drew back he pushed forward, spinning and launching a kick up at her face that she was forced to block with her sword.
"Whooh! Go Fox! Kick her ass!" Coco cheered for her partner from the sidelines.
Pyrrha enjoyed the energy, her smile only growing as Fox refused to lose his momentum and continued to push her back. She lashed out with Allos, expecting him to block it again only to be surprised when he caught it on his blade and pushed it aside, opening her guard for an uppercut from his free weapon.
She felt the blade hit her aura and she cried out more in surprise than pain as it flared to protect her. Despite the shock, Pyrrha saw an opening. The blade he had used to push her own aside was still out, while the one he had used to strike with was still roughly parallel with his head.
Allowing the momentum of the attack to push her back, Pyrrha began to transform her weapon. A moment later she fired off three shots in quick succession all aimed at Fox's lower abdomen, the first one landing where she intended and knocking him back slightly. The second was off to the side slightly but still managed to hit his aura. He managed to block the third by bringing his blade down to take the hit instead.
With her opponent no longer pressing his advantage, Pyrrha took a moment to think. His weapons allowed for a stronger defense against Allos' sword form, the blades on his forearms being easier to maneuver to block swipes. Deciding to try something else she began switching her weapon once more, this time into its spear form.
Gripping Allos tightly she slid her right foot back and adopted a defensive form. She'd once been able to use such a weapon as a projectile, much like her shield, but without her Semblance it just wasn't possible. That being said, a spear was still a remarkably versatile weapon. As the blade finally clicked into place, she could have sworn she heard Ruby gasp in awe.
Fox was less impressed.
"Not a stick!" He sent. "Whatever will I do?"
Pyrrha flushed slightly, nearly looking away in slight embarrassment before seeing the slightest twitch of her opponent's feet. He lunged forward at incredible speed, clearly having hoped that his joke would have distracted her. Pyrrha smiled as he closed in. Fox was fast, but Pyrrha had plenty of experience fighting people that were faster than her. Ruby's Semblance enhanced speed having once been a difficult obstacle to overcome.
As he approached Pyrrha stepped forward and thrusted her spear where she knew he would be, he panicked and brought one of his arms up to block the attack. Just before the metal made contact however she dipped her spearhead and twisted her body, bringing the shaft of her weapon down on the back side of his knee. Aura flared and no real damage was done, but the sudden force caused his leg to buckle and he fell forward. He managed to turn the ungraceful fall into a somewhat successful roll but before he could stand however she had Allos angled at his throat.
Pyrrha breathed heavily, having barely managed to close the distance in time to stop him from standing. Her legs were sore from the exertion, but she had enjoyed the spar. Her smile was honest.
"Congratulations," Fox called out loud enough for everyone in the arena to hear. "You just beat a blind man!"
Ruby's cheer cut off, being replaced by utter shock. Pyrrha felt her face heat up in embarrassment, even as Velvet and Coco explained Fox's unique situation to Ruby and Yang. Along with his rather unique sense of humour in regards to his condition.
She withdrew her blade from his throat after a moment's hesitation, offering a hand down to help him up.
"You did well." Pyrrha complimented him as she dragged him up from the floor.
"Heh, I don't know about that." Fox smiled nonetheless. "You even managed to get past my best technique." Pyrrha tilted her head to the side, preparing to ask what he was talking about only for Coco to cut in.
"Sarcasm isn't a technique, no matter how sassy you are."
"Oh come on, the stick thing almost worked." Fox defended himself.
"Yeah, right. That's why she managed to pin you while you were still solidly in the green." Coco replied.
Pyrrha looked up to the aura monitors seeing that she was right. Fox's aura was still in the green, though it had started to get close to Yellow. Meanwhile her own was yellow, Fox having managed to land more strikes despite her victory. His attacks hadn't been difficult to see coming, but she hadn't been able to take advantage of that information. Being unable to act quick enough to block the coming strikes.
Still, despite how she had been losing the fight up to that moment, Pyrrha had enjoyed every second of it.
"We can always do a rematch if you want?" She smiled as innocently as she could manage.
"Huh, I bet you'd like that wouldn't you." Fox crossed his arms over his chest. "Can't go pick on someone who can see huh?" Despite his words, Fox smiled and looked in her direction. "That'd be fun. Maybe I'll win next time."
Pyrrha rubbed the back of her neck in embarrassment. "I'm sure you'll win."
Coco lowered her sunglasses slightly, looking between her partner and Pyrrha. "I know where my money will be."
"On me of course." Fox gestured a thumb towards himself. Coco said nothing. "Right… partner?"
"Anyways, it's getting late." Coco turned back towards the stands. "Should probably make sure they get back to wherever they're staying in the city."
Pyrrha looked up, just in time for Ruby to appear in front of her. "That. Was. Awesome!"
Yang ignored Pyrrha as Ruby gushed about her weapon and the fight as she walked over to Fox. "Are you really blind?"
"As far as I can tell… yeah." Fox nodded his head.
"Hm, that explains why you were constantly looking at my boobs earlier." Yang smirked, her eyes nearly as bright as the time she had figured out what type of book Blake was reading during class.
For the first time since Pyrrha had met him, Fox blushed. Violently. "I-I did what?! N-no th-"
Yang and Coco's laughter cut him off, along with the sound of a scroll snapping a picture.
"Oh, Fox, that's gonna be my new background." Coco wiped a tear from her eye as she looked at her screen. Turning to look at Yang. "I told you that'd work."
Pyrrha tried to hide her smile behind her hand, not that it seemed to fool anyone.
"I hate you all."
Pyrrha couldn't stop herself from laughing.
It hadn't taken them very long to get Ruby and Yang back into Vale. Qrow had lent them the use of his apartment, apparently having planned to spend the next couple weeks with his nieces before he had been called to Mistral. The two girls had clearly been bummed out about it, but Pyrrha liked to think they had made the day a good one.
At any rate, it was enough to make plans for the next day, so it clearly couldn't have been that bad. Pyrrha fell into the recliner in Team CFVY's room, making a sound somewhere between a sigh and a groan.
"That went well." Velvet offered, helping Coco to push their beds back into one of the corners of their dorm room.
"Xiao Long is great, I like her." Coco's voice was filled with mirth, the sound of it made Pyrrha shudder when she thought of what the next year would be like. The two of them were getting along well, maybe too well.
"Same." Fox replied.
"Really?" Pyrrha looked back over her chair to Fox. "I would have thought you'd want revenge after what happened at the arena."
"Oh, there will be revenge." Fox assured them, Coco chuckling softly while Velvet and Pyrrha struggled to fight back their own amusement. "But she's funny, I like that in a woman."
"That's because she hasn't started with the puns yet." Pyrrha groaned at the memories. "Just wait, it gets worse."
"I'm sure that's the impression she got when you were staring at her boobs." Coco's words caused Fox to groan. "And how do you know so much about those two?"
Pyrrha winced slightly. "Qrow warned me."
"Must have been bad for him to warn you." Coco didn't sound entirely convinced but didn't press the issue. "All right, Yatsu should be back with th-" The door swung open as the final member of Team CFVY stepped through the door, a large box of beverages in hand. "As punctual as ever." Coco walked over to grab a can of soda from the box, tossing it to Pyrrha before walking over to the couch. "What did you and Fox settle on for the movie?"
"Huntsmen's Bodyguard." Velvet read off the back of the case the disc had come in. "It's that new Byran Reinolds movie."
"Oooh, that's the one with the cute butt right?" Coco asked, Velvet blushing brightly before nodding a moment later. "I can't wait."
Pyrrha chuckled, sipping her soda and attempting to blend into her chair so as to avoid Coco's attention.
"C-can we just watch the movie?" Coco looked like she was going to deny Velvet's desperate request, but Yatsuhashi came to his partner's rescue.
"The flight is somewhat early tomorrow, it would be best if we start sooner rather than later."
Coco rolled her eyes but relented to his sound judgment. This was going to be their last time together as a team for a couple weeks and it was clear Team CFVY didn't know how to feel about it. Pyrrha could relate. Beacon was chaotic and hectic at the best of times, and you rarely had a moment to yourself. You spent nearly every day with the same three people.
While at first that felt awkward, you quickly adapted to it, before long you came to enjoy it. You grew close to your team, it became a bond that lasted a lifetime. Two in Pyrrha's case. Seeing that person go away, even for a short period of time, could be difficult. Team JNPR had stayed together during all of their breaks, but she had seen it with team RWBY. Despite how vocally against the living arrangements Weiss had been at the start of the year, she had returned from their break just as eager as the rest of them.
The movie started the same as any other, with copious amounts of logos. Sitting back, Pyrrha tried to go in with an open mind. Regardless of the movie, she was just happy to watch it with her friends.
"Make sure to take lots of pictures!" Velvet reminded her partner. "And don't forget to call!"
Coco nudged Pyrrha's side, talking just loud enough to be heard by the two parting friends. "Damn, you'd think they're more than partners with how long this is taking."
Velvet stiffened up for a moment, looking back at Coco before looking at her partner and realizing that she was still hugging him. A second later she practically launched herself back with an embarrassed cry, sitting on her bed and refusing to look anywhere but the ceiling or floor. They had elected to say their temporary goodbyes in the dorm, Coco teasing that it would be easier for Velvet to part with him if she didn't have to watch the Bullhead shrink into the distance. Yatsuhashi looked embarrassed as well, but it didn't last. Instead, he turned towards Fox.
"Have you decided?"
Coco and Velvet looked confusedly at their other team member.
"He offered to bring me along." Fox informed them and, judging by the way Coco and Velvet's eyes widened, this was the first they were hearing of it. "I… told him I'd think about it."
It was clear he was uncertain, though he certainly wasn't the only one. Coco and Velvet exchanged looks with one another, uncertain of what to say.
To all their surprise, including her own, Pyrrha was the first to speak up. "You should go." Team CVFY looked at her. "Mistral is beautiful this time of year, so long as the storms aren't too bad."
"She is right." Yatsuhashi quickly agreed. "I wasn't aware you'd been to Mistral Amber."
"I grew up there." Pyrrha said before she could think better of it." A-anyways, it's certainly worth seeing."
Fox looked in the direction of Coco and Velvet, waiting to see if they would say anything against the idea. When they didn't say anything, it was settled. "I'll only need a minute to grab a few things."
Before long, half of Team CFVY stood at the door preparing to leave.
"Okay, it was sappy before, but now you two better stay in touch." Coco told them, settling the matter before they could say no. "The last thing I need is for you two to run off to Mistral and get into trouble."
"Me?" Fox sounded shocked. "Why, I would neve-"
"Yeah yeah, stow the sarcasm." Coco waved her hand dismissively before falling silent for a moment. Her face twisting in an uncharacteristically vulnerable manner. "Take care you two."
"I'll keep the big guy out of trouble." Fox smiled and nodded. A moment later the door closed and the male side of the team was gone.
Coco's face twisted in a smile as she seemed to have some kind of revelation. "You know what this means right…"
Pyrrha was confused, looking to the rooms only other occupant for an explanation. Velvet looked horrified.
"C-Coco, no, we cant just-"
"I could use a new beret," Coco ignored the exasperated tone of her teammate. "You could probably use a new belt too, and Amber…" Coco looked her up and down. "She needs a whole new wardrobe."
"Coco… Please." Velvet begged. "Have mercy."
"I'll give you two ten minutes to prepare." Coco looked towards Pyrrha. "Shoot Xiao Long and Rose a message and tell them to meet us at this address." Pyrrha's scroll vibrated as it received a message, much to her confusion as she hadn't noticed Coco so much as look at her scroll, let alone type in the aforementioned address. "You two have nine minutes left."
Pyrrha looked to Velvet only to see the girl already getting ready for the day with a look of utter defeat on her face. It did little for her confidence.
"Branwen."
"Schnee."
Qrow stared the woman down for a long moment, usually determined to not be the first to look away, but found himself lacking the same kind of energy. He had promised to play nice, not that that meant much. What mattered was that their mission went smoothly. He looked away without a fuss, much to the Ice Queen's confusion.
"We should be able to slip into the city unnoticed from here." Qrow gestured to a map he had pulled up on his scroll. "It's been a couple decades since I've had to use it, but there hasn't been any reason for Mistral to patch that hole up."
"And how exactly did you come to learn of its existence?" Qrow waited for her to finish before answering the question he knew was coming, knowing that interrupting her would only lead to bickering.
"It's an old Branwen Tribe secret, we used to use it to sneak in and sell whatever we stole." Qrow explained. "My sister is many things, but wasteful isn't one of them. She wouldn't destroy it unless she had to."
"And you don't think the kingdom has taken steps to repair this gap in their defenses?"
"You know Mistral nearly as well as I do, you tell me." Qrow waited for her to huff before continuing. "Besides, if our theory is correct, it could easily have been kept open by people in certain places of power."
The Ice Queen's eyes focused on him, having been briefed at least on what their main goal was. "Lionheart has been the Headmaster for many years, and while I trust the General's judgment, I can't help but wonder why steps haven't been taken to investigate him before now."
Qrow hesitated, he didn't know all of what Winter knew. He was fairly sure she didn't know about Salem or the Maidens, and he was very sure she didn't know about Pyrrha, but it was possible that Ironwood might have told her more than he should have. Ignoring his distaste for her, Qrow knew she was loyal to the General.
"Let's just say he has high connections. The right people trust him and that's all it takes." Qrow didn't want to out Ozpin, but he couldn't understand how the man wouldn't even entertain the idea of his once, now very distant, ally being turned against them. Lionheart hadn't so much as sent them a message for months. Even that had been a simple assurance that the relic was still in Haven and that the Maiden hadn't been found.
"And it's being investigated now because?" Winter raised one finally kept eyebrow, expecting an answer.
"An informant leaked some information to us, very troubling information." Qrow kept it vague.
She clearly wanted to know more but sighed instead. "Very well. I suppose if it's enough to have even you acting civil then it must be important." Qrow glared at the woman but held his tongue, again surprising the woman. "Hmm, that's quite worrisome."
"Our first goal is to try and identify the three targets."
"I received the information from the General." Winter held up her scroll. "I've read the descriptions thoroughly. Sustrai and Black should be easy enough to spot, I'm sure Fall will be around them as well."
"Remember, no matter what happens, don't approach them." Qrow stressed the importance of that fact. They had to know if they had infiltrated Haven yet or not, after that he could approach Lionheart and start asking the harder questions.
"Observation only." Winter nodded her head, not arguing or even making a snide comment. Qrow was impressed.
"Maybe this won't be so difficult after all." Qrow could only hope.
Author's Note: Ah yes, Byran Reinolds… My favourite actor. Anyways, another chapter is done and with this one uploaded that should put us well over the 100K threshold. Dope!
Sadly, it doesn't seem like we'll be getting the same kind of view count as A Simple Bet Between Friends. That's fine though, I don't do it for the views. Hopefully I don't end up being a one hit wonder though.
Hope y'all enjoyed it and as always leave a review to let me know what you think.
Sincerely, SE
