Author's Note: New chapter, bit rougher than I would have liked but we'll see what you all think.

"Lie Ren, Nora Valkyrie, Blake Belladonna, and Yang Xiao Long." Ozpin called them up to the stage, half of her old team now standing with their new partners. Whether by Fate, intervention, or simple chance, things had gone very differently this time, and Pyrrha felt her stomach roll at how effortlessly her team had been broken up. "Together you managed to gather the Black Rook pieces. You shall henceforth be known as team Rainbow, led by Lie Ren."

Pyrrha clapped politely, much like the rest of the room, but she couldn't force herself to feel better. Team JNPR had felt like family to her, they'd been her closest friends and had treated her like they would have any other student of Beacon. To see that team broken up was painful. There had been a time she thought they might never break up, that even after their time at Beacon they would have gone on missions together, she'd really been looking forward to it.

A hand resting on her shoulder helped to snap her out of her thoughts. Coco could tell that something was wrong, and was probably already planning to talk to her about it back in the dorm room. The simple gesture meant more than she really expected it to, and Pyrrha tried to offer her a more confident smile.

"Ruby Rose, Weiss Schnee, Jaune Arc, and Pyrrha Nikos." The room immediately erupted in whispers, as if the student body hadn't already been painfully aware of her presence there. It had been the exact same last time, at least this time it was aimed at someone else… technically. "Together you gathered the Gold Queen pieces. Your team name shall be Rowan, and you will be led by Ruby Rose."

Ruby was surprised, much as she had been the time before. Though she didn't know it yet she would make an excellent leader, Pyrrha was confident that Ren would as well even if she didn't have the benefit of foresight for him. He would have to adapt, but he was smart and acted as the calm voice of reason to Nora's… Nora-ness. He would be a great leader for Team RNBY. Looking back at Team RWAN however, Pyrrha sighed at what that all meant. Jaune wouldn't be a leader, at least not during Beacon.

Leading Team JNPR had helped him to grow faster than the rest of them. He'd managed to catch up to students with nearly a decade more experience than him in the time span of only a few months. Her own bias probably influenced her opinion of his capabilities, just a little bit, but he'd certainly been making swift progress. He'd been thrown into a position he was woefully unprepared for and forced to make it work. A trial by fire that she was sure most people would have given up on. He'd come out the other side stronger for it. Could he do the same now?

Pyrrha sighed and turned away from the stage as Ozpin called up another team she vaguely recognized but didn't truly know. The auditorium had been reserved for the team assignments for the day and outside it awaited the various older students who were meant to show the younger years around.

Team CFVY had been the only one to go in, mostly because Coco said they should, but they weren't the only ones waiting for their assigned teams. A few of the second years glared not so subtly at Coco and her team, which she supposed also included her.

Seeing an excuse to get her mind off what was happening inside Pyrrha asked, "What's that about?"

Coco shrugged. "I don't know, must be a bunch of sore loser's upset they don't get to show around the Invincible Girl." Her smug smile, and the way that those same people bristled under her words, betrayed her feigned ignorance.

Pyrrha wrapped an arm around her front, rubbing her elbow awkwardly as she let that sink in. There were only a handful of people who hadn't heard the name Pyrrha Nikos these days, Jaune somehow being one of them, and her name was especially well known among the would-be Huntsmen of her generation. Despite her skill however, she knew that she was nothing compared to a real Huntsman.

The differences in skill, general fitness, and knowledge aside, the sheer experience differences between them was too much for even her to overcome. That should have been obvious, and to Huntsmen it was. She was a talented person who had the potential to do great things, but that was all she was. People her own age, and especially those not training for a life like theirs, always seemed to think otherwise. They seemed to genuinely believe the lie that was the Invincible Girl. She'd expected that to change when she came to Beacon, and when it came to her friends it had, but the general air was still there.

They saw her as a celebrity, and she hated every moment of it.

"Hey." Velvet nudged her side softly. "They're just curious, they wanna see if you… if she will live up to the hype."

"Doesn't matter anyways, because they lost. Unless they wanna fight for it!" Coco yelled out, causing those still watching them to turn away. "Yeah, that's what I thought!"

Pyrrha chuckled nervously. Had it been this way the first time around? The fact the answer was almost certainly yes left her feeling nauseous.

"Don't worry too much about it." Fox sent. "We're the ones showing them around this time, they won't get any special treatment."

"So does that mean you've decided not to ask for the autograph after all?" Yatsuhashi stepped up beside him.

"That was a joke!" Fox groaned.

"Didn't you say you were going to sell it online af-" Yatsuhashi was cut off as Fox lunged up at him, clamping a hand around his mouth and hanging off the giant's back.

Pyrrha laughed softly as they started to bicker, both being unusually… animated; as they argued. It was fairly typical when in the dorm, where they could just be themselves, but less so outside of their private room. Team CFVY had an image to maintain as the cool and collected second year team after all, or so Coco insisted. It wasn't difficult to tell that they were putting it on for her benefit, but it helped all the same.

"Incoming." Coco said softly, drawing Pyrrha's attention for a moment before she turned to see what the issue was.

"Amber!" Ruby smashed into her at semblance enhanced speeds, latching both arms around her back as the momentum quickly transferred into Pyrrha, throwing both of the girls to the ground. "Did you see us?!"

Pyrrha laughed warmly, even if she had been caught by surprise and thrown to the ground. "You did extremely well, Ruby. I'm very proud."

"Get off the ground you dunce!" Weiss snapped at her partner from a few feet away.

Ruby looked back to her partner, clearly about to start an argument, only to freeze when she realized everyone else was staring at her. She looked back down and Pyrrha could see the moment she realized how she had landed. Legs on either side of Pyrrha, her arms wrapped around her back, and her face only half a dozen inches away.

The younger girl's eyes widened and her face turned as red as her cloak. She launched herself up off of her, moving several feet back and pulling up her hood in an attempt to hide her face. Pyrrha could only laugh harder, taking Coco's hand when she offered to help her up.

"I am so sorry about my partner, she shou-"

Pyrrha held a hand up to cut Weiss off before she could continue. "It's okay, Ruby is just excited. She has a right to be, you all do." Pyrrha nodded towards each of them, hesitating awkwardly when she got to her past self for a moment before continuing. "There were a lot of people who didn't make it in, you guys did great out there."

It was more casual than what Weiss was used to, that much was clear, but she would loosen up in time. "R-right, of course. You saw the battle at the end?"

"I did." Pyrrha nodded. "I was very impressed with your… team's ability." Despite her best effort, she hesitated when saying that, sparing a glance for both Jaune and her other self. "You make quite the team."

"Don't expect Team RWAN to be the best though," Coco stepped forward. "That would be us. The name's Coco, I lead Team CFVY." She offered out a hand toward Weiss.

"Weiss Schnee." The slightly more formal act seemed to snap her into action, even if first introductions may have been better served by both Teams respective leaders. "Heiress to the Schnee Dust Company." The fact she couldn't say she was the leader of her team clearly irritated her, judging by the way she looked back at Ruby.

The introductions were quick from there, though mostly a formality and for Team RWAN's benefit. She had already told Team CFVY about them in the weeks leading up to this meeting, both with excitement and anxiety. She'd never been good at making friends after all.

"We'll be showing you guys around Beacon." Coco stated. "Technically we're supposed to give you the formal tour, but so long as you guys don't complain, I'm good to skip to the stuff that matters."

Everyone but Weiss was quick to agree, and she looked disappointed at her team for that, but nodded once it was already decided.

"Obviously you've seen the auditorium." Coco gestured behind them to the building they were just in, then towards the cafeteria a few hundred feet away. "That's where you go to eat, meal times are dependent on your class schedule, but if you have the time you can swing by and grab something to eat at just about any time."

It was far more laid back than her own tour, whatever team that had shown them around had clearly been trying to impress her or earn her favor. Two things she was glad Team CFVY were above.

"Ozpin doesn't skip on the food, just don't ask for a Headmaster's Coffee." Pyrrha warned them. "And don't let someone else trick you into getting one." Jaune had been fooled by that once and he didn't sleep for two days after it.

"Could we stop there right now?" Ruby asked. "I'm starving." As if to agree, her stomach growled loudly.

Coco shrugged. "Sure, we have the rest of the day to get you guys settled in so there isn't much of a rush."

Again, Weiss looked annoyed, but Jaune and his partner looked like they were in agreement. The walk to the cafeteria was short, but with a subtle nudge from Coco and a knowing nod toward her former partner, Pyrrha moved to walk next to him.

"So Jaune…" It was only after she started speaking that she remembered a crucial detail, she had no idea how to get what she wanted. "How are you enjoying Beacon?"

"It's all right." Jaune spoke softly, careful not to interrupt what was quickly becoming a heated argument between Ruby and Weiss. "I'm a little nervous, if I'm being honest."

Pyrrha smiled knowingly at him. "That's not unusual, I was nervous when I first came to Beacon as well."

"Really?" Jaune looked hopeful.

It wasn't her who answered however, or rather, not really. "It's not unusual to feel nervous when going somewhere new." Her past self had been watching calmly at his other side as they walked. "Try to focus on why you're here. That always helps me."

It did. Setting one's mind on a specific task helped to remove all other distractions. It was advice her coach had given her before her first tournament. That being said, she had been the one who wanted to impart that wisdom on him. Instead, her past self had come in and stolen that.

"If you're worried about being up to the standard, I could teach you a few tricks." Pyrrha quickly said. "I've learned a few that even someone without training could do." It was a little on the nose, she knew that, and Jaune looked away from her in shame.

"Oh, we're here." Her past self cut her off before she could continue.

The cafeteria wasn't too crowded when they arrived, a few tables were full, but most were left empty as the majority of the students didn't start class until the next day. As such, they were able to get their food without a problem. The issue came after they sat down however.

"Could you be any more of a child?" Weiss snapped at her partner.

Ruby set the down fork she'd asked Pyrrha - the other Pyrrha that was - to bend. "Oh come on! Haven't you seen that movie?" She turned back. "Bend it with your mind!"

The girl in question hesitated a moment but, after Weiss scoffed and went back to her salad, did as asked.

"She's the chosen one." Fox said in mock awe, before shoving half a turkey leg into his mouth.

Most of them were amused by it, Pyrrha included. Using her semblance was a rare thing outside of a spar, her sponsor and coach back home had insisted she keep it a secret. With that came a bitterness however, if only due to the unfair nature of it. The few people she told, or those select few who had gotten an idea about how it worked, had said it was one more thing that made her unbeatable. It was one more thing that made her untouchable. She'd grown to hate it.

She felt someone nudge her side and she shook her head to dispel the memories. "I'm sorry, I was lost in thought."

Coco and Velvet both looked like they wanted to say something, but neither did, choosing to either save it for when they were alone or let it go. Knowing them, she very much doubted it was the latter.

"We were just telling them about classes." Yatsuhashi told her.

"It's nothing too crazy." Pyrrha looked back towards her old friends, smiling in what she hoped was a confident manner. "Doctor Oobleck is the only heavy theory class you'll have, Professor Port… not so much." Coco scoffed at the idea that Professor Port's class would actually be anything aside from 'school issued nap time' as she called it. "You'll have more fun in Glynda's class, that's all practical."

"Glynda?" Weiss looked confused, and it genuinely took Pyrrha a moment to figure out why. She had nothing but respect for the Professor, especially considering her duties as Deputy-Headmistress, but she'd also come to know her as a kind and caring woman; a friend. It was easy to forget that it was not the same for everyone.

"Professor Goodwitch, she'll be your main combat instructor." Pyrrha explained, smiling a moment later. "When she isn't helping Ozpin with running the school anyways."

"She's also a real strict discipline type." Fox added.

"Great, Weiss and her will get along great." Ruby muttered, far louder than she had intended, and managed to draw her partner's attention.

"Excuse me, what is that supposed to mean?" Weiss' voice was as cold as ice, though notably not in the same way as Glynda. There was no threat of reprimand or detention to backup her anger and she lacked the same stern look. Instead, she sounded like a spoiled child.

Pyrrha tried to interrupt to defend her friend but, surprisingly, Ruby spoke first.

"Could you at least try to be nice for once!" Ruby snapped back, and Pyrrha did mean snap. That shocked her more than the others, mostly because they didn't know her like she did. In a few months time that small anger would surprise the rest of them too. She genuinely couldn't think of a single time Ruby had gotten angry enough to bite back at someone like that.

Did this happen last time and I just never heard about it? Pyrrha hadn't been with them during their tour the last time obviously, off with her own team as she was, but she did remember it wasn't until after the school year officially started that Ruby and Weiss started to become friends. It was so weird seeing them at each other's throats again knowing that they had grown to be such good friends.

"-ne more for this team than you so far!"

"I came up with the plan to fight the Nevermore!" Ruby argued back.

"And I figured out how they were assigning teams!" Weiss pointed towards her team's Pyrrha, who had been awkwardly sitting next to Jaune in silence, attempting to stay out of the argument, until now. "The fact we have her is thanks to me!"

Weiss turned back towards Ruby before she could catch it, but Pyrrha's face had darkened at that before going back to normal, and she was now watching the argument with a painfully neutral expression. Weiss would grow in time, but right now she wasn't the same person she would become. She was… prickly, as Ruby had once called her, but it was very easy to hate her at that moment.

"Maybe we should change the subject." She tried to step in and help. "I'm sure you're all ex-"

"You're a teacher!" Weiss snapped, turning towards her the moment she opened her mouth. "Tell her I'm right." She didn't seem to notice all the attention she was drawing, nor how childish she sounded in demanding someone agree with her.

"Amber isn't a teacher." Coco answered for her in a short clipped tone. It was clear Weiss had set a bad impression, the fact Coco didn't argue back was a lucky sign for the younger girl.

"Is she a student?" Weiss seemed to latch onto the new issue with ease, likely in an attempt to ignore Ruby as the young Team leader continued to 'act like a child'.

"Technically I am, yes." Pyrrha answered for herself before Coco could, easily seeing how close to exploding her friend was even if Weiss wasn't. "But I also work wi-"

"If you're a student, then what are you doing here?" Weiss asked, holding her hand out and gesturing to the other four sitting with them. "I thought Beacon made teams of four, where's your own?"

The silence at their table was the first sign Weiss got that she messed up. Most of Team CFVY looked away awkwardly, Coco continued to glare daggers at her, and Pyrrha herself remained silent, though not for the obvious reason. Her team was sitting right in front of her, or part of it was anyways. That wasn't something she could explain however, and it was obvious the conclusion Weiss came to if her wide eyes were anything to go by. It was the same rumor the rest of the student body believed.

The Heiress panicked, finally noticing the amount of people watching her just how silent the cafeteria had become, and came to the wrong conclusions as to why. "I'm so sorry, I did-"

"It's okay." Pyrrha cut her off before she could continue, not wanting the sympathy for something she didn't have to suffer through. She may have lost her team, but she hadn't watched her friends die and unlike people who had, she was given the chance to see them again. "Why don't we continue the tour." She pushed her plate back, having only eaten half her food, and stood from the table.

"We can show them the sparring rings." Coco said, quickly standing, not even attempting to hide her scowl or the rather vicious looking smile she wore. "Maybe they'd even like to go for a round or two, it's important they know how we do things here, after all."

"Maybe that's not the-" Pyrrha was cut off as her Scroll beeped, pulling it up her shoulders sagged. She was half tempted to ignore it all together. "Ozpin needs to see me, apparently it's urgent."

Coco looked towards her, not missing the sound or look of disappointment. Her eyes lit a moment later however and she smiled innocently. "Do you mind if I give them your scroll number? They might have questions while we're in classes, and we can't exactly leave those." Her eyes flicked towards Jaune for a brief moment before looking back at her.

Pyrrha swallowed nervously and nodded. "Don't hesitate to call if you need something. When I'm not on missions I'm usually training, so I have time." Nodding her head softly towards Ruby she said, "Tell your sister's team the same, she has my number." She turned towards Weiss just as the girl looked away, unable or unwilling to meet her eyes. "Weiss, you don't need to feel guilty, I know you didn't mean it." Turning towards the last two members of Team RWAN, she hesitated. "Jaune." She wanted to say something more but her scroll beeped again. "Later, uh… Pyrrha."

With her goodbyes awkwardly done, she set off for the Headmaster's Office.

The elevator dinged softly as it reached the top floor, the door opening to reveal Qrow and Winter standing a few feet away from Ozpin's desk. That fact alone had her worried. Qrow wasn't on the best of terms with Ozpin and Winter answered to Ironwood, if they were both here, then it was something serious. The Headmaster's face was as calm as ever, though he did spare a small smile and nod as she approached.

"Miss Nikos, I am sorry to interrupt your time with your friends." His voice was stilled and calm, but not, she noted, in the usual way. He spoke slowly and his shoulders were stiffer than usual.

"I came as quickly as I could." Pyrrha walked over to stand next to Qrow. "Your message didn't say what was going on."

Ozpin didn't say anything, simply pressing a small button on the terminal on his desk as a holographic display showed the Vale harbor.

"At approximately sixteen hundred hours White Fang terrorists seized an SDC freighter." Winter stepped forward, gesturing towards a rather large ship that the display zoomed in on. "Their objective was clearly the dust held in the containers, but the fact they would attack during the day like this… it's a surprisingly bold move."

She didn't recognize the ship obviously, and she doubted it was the same one that had been attacked during her own time, but it wasn't unfamiliar. The fact the White Fang had gone during night the last time must have been due to Torchwick's influence. If his words were true, and she did mean if, and he was no longer working for Cinder, then it was very possible someone else was leading them on their mission to steal dust. Someone who didn't care for as much subtlety.

For all his flair, Torchwick was a criminal who knew how to escape. How he did it she didn't know, but his priority had always been getting away, even if that meant leaving with nothing. He'd probably insisted the same on the White Fang before, something that wouldn't have happened now that he was cut loose.

"This was a risky mission and, were it Atlas, it would have failed." Winter gritted out, though she refrained from commenting further. "Local law enforcement was overwhelmed however and unable to respond in time."

"They got away?" Pyrrha's disappointment was immeasurable. The White Fang had gotten away with a lot during her last life, but never an attack like this. Not in broad daylight. Are things getting worse, or was it like that before?

"Yeah." Qrow answered, but there was more to his voice than anger. "That's not all."

Pyrrha looked over at him, waiting for him to continue, but it was the Headmaster who answered.

"Thirteen dock workers, seventeen security personnel, forty two crew members, and three police officers who were the first on scene." The Headmasters voice carried a dangerous undertone, and Pyrrha knew what he was going to say before he finished. Still, she had hoped she was wrong. "All dead."

His words were crushing. In no small part because she blamed herself. The White Fang was an issue that had to be dealt with, but before the Breach and the actual attack on Vytal there had been very little loss of life. They'd robbed dust stores, convoys outside the city, and yes, the docks, but only after everyone was gone. Now seventy-five people were dead, and the only thing that had changed was her interference.

"We have to do something." Pyrrha steeled herself, pushing aside her blame for later, knowing she had to make this right. "The White Fang-" she was cut off as her scroll rang. Reaching into her pocket she quickly declined the call. "We can't let them get away with this."

"We don't plan to." Ozpin replied. "We will need to-" Pyrrha's scroll rang once more and she declined the call, setting it to vibrate so as to not interrupt again.

"My men can begin searching the city." Winter jumped in. "With local law enforcement we may be able to find them before they can off load the dust."

"You'll need permission from the council." Ozpin replied, pulling up his own scroll. "I shall see if I can't convince them it's Beacon stepping in instead of Atlas."

"Politics be damned, Oz!" Qrow snapped. "I'll go, hell, I'll call Tai up and see if he can help. He's been itching to help ever since Mistral anyways, and he's only thirty minutes away from the city."

Pyrrha's scroll vibrated aggressively, indicating another call. Growling, Pyrrha pulled it up and saw that it was the same number as before, an unknown caller ID that seemed oddly persistent on reaching her. She considered blocking it but stepped away and answered instead. There was no video feed, the screen simply displaying an icon vaguely shaped like a person.

"Hello?" Pyrrha didn't try to mask her irritation. Most people knew when you declined their call it meant they were busy, whoever this was didn't apparently.

"I'll call back if this is a bad time, kid." Torchwick's voice rang out through her scroll. "I take it you've heard the news?"

"What do you want, Torchwick?" Her use of his name drove the other three to silence.

"Okay, straight to the point then." Torchwick sounded just as irritated as she felt. "Check your messages, I sent you an address. That's where your friendly neighborhood terrorists will be trying to sell off all that dust they stole. I suggest you stop them." The call cut off before she could say anything back, and she looked down to her messages.

The text she'd gotten had more information than just an address.

"He says they'll be meeting there tonight." She didn't recognize the name he gave for whatever gang they were meeting with however, and she handed her scroll over to Ozpin.

The Headmaster hummed as he read the message. "I'm aware of them, dangerous for sure but never something like this. If they agreed to come to the table then the White Fang must have made quite the offer."

"My men will watch the location." Winter said. "I'll alert you the moment they arrive, assuming this information is accurate." She didn't sound convinced it was, not that Pyrrha could blame her.

They all waited for Ozpin to think, each staring at the new map of Vale displayed with a soft blinking light indicating the address Torchwick had given them.

"Have we found any sign of Raven?" Ozpin looked towards Qrow.

"No, she's staying low." He sounded suspicious of that, but she didn't have time to ask why.

"And our leads involving Cinder Fall are thin, at best." Ozpin sighed. "We believe she departed Haven for Vacuo, but we've found little else. That being said, I doubt this is directly of her own making. Has James found anything to suggest otherwise?"

"The General hasn't, no." Winter replied.

"That makes this the only lead we've got." Qrow grumbled. "Even you can't sit by and do nothing here Oz."

The Headmaster's eyes flicked over toward Qrow for a moment before he closed them entirely and sighed. "You are right, this is our only chance to find something more to go on. So I believe it may be time to end the White Fang threat in the city. I would advise doing so discreetly, however, and see if you can gather any kind of information."

"Aim to capture." Winter nodded, and turned towards Pyrrha. "Qrow or I will send you a time and location to meet, be ready within an hour."

Author's Note: Writing two Pyrrha's from "Amber's" perspective is so weird. Some reviews recommended I try to have "Amber" actually start referring to herself as such, and while that would work for clarity's sake, I don't know that it's in character. Well, not yet at least. It's easy to disassociate from your name when you are called something else for long enough, but only if it's consistent. Breaks in that mess it up, and too many people call her Pyrrha because they know the truth. Oh well, I'll just keep trying to make it work.

Other than that, I hope you all enjoyed it and I look forward to reading your reviews.

Sincerely, SE
