Chapter 19
At Swan's Home
Emmett
In the last few days Bella was always with me ... until the evening. The sex with her was great ... and got better and better. She was fantastic. Once she thawed out, she could get really wild.
Oh ... I was so looking forward to her becoming a vampire and not having to hold back anymore! Even though it was fun, I always had to make sure I didn't completely lose control and accidentally break her pelvis or something.
Unfortunately, Bella couldn't stay with me overnight. She always had to be home by 10:00 p.m. at the latest. And the excuse of spending the night at Alice's didn't work because he knew I was there too. However, he didn't know that I snuck into Bella's room every night.
I wondered how he would react to me. Oh, it would be fine.
I pulled my Jeep into the driveway at Bella's house and got out.
"THAT'S Emmett? He's way too old for you!" I heard Charlie say.
He didn't know how right he was.
I laughed to myself.
"He's only two years older. Behave yourself, Dad. I really like him much," I heard Bella say as I walked toward the house.
Before I could ring the bell, Bella already opened the door and ran towards me. I hugged her.
"Hi Bella, not too stormy."
I didn't want to let her out of the hug. But with her dad standing by the door watching us, I figured enough was enough and let her go.
She took my hand and I let her pull me to the front door.
I was facing her dad, certainly more than a head taller than him, and Bella was standing sideways between us.
"Dad, this is Emmett. Emmett, this is Charlie ... my dad," she introduced us, waving her hands back and forth between us.
I reached out to shake his hand.
"Nice to meet you, Chief."
I saw Bella giving her father an evil look and had to smile.
"Nice to meet you too, Emmett. Call me Charlie. Do you want to come in? The 'Mariners' are playing," he asked.
"Baseball! Mariners! Sure I'm coming, Charlie."
And I ran after him to the living room. Since Charlie had sat down on the sofa, I placed myself on the armchair. Bella sat down next to her dad.
"Emmett, would you like something to drink?", Bella asked me with a silly grin on her face.
I formed the word 'YOU' with my lips, nodded over to her and showed my teeth. She rolled her eyes.
"No, thank you, Bella. I'm not thirsty," I answered her politely.
"What about you, Dad?" she asked, turning to him.
"Yes. Can you get me a beer from the garage. We don't have any left in the fridge."
"Sure!"
She stood up and walked out.
"So … Emmett, do you love her?"
Straight to the point. Aha ... now I understood why she should get beer.
"Yes, Charlie, really with all my heart," I said honestly.
"Fine, but if you pull the same shit with her as that Edward ..."
I didn't let him finish.
"As you know, my girlfriend did the same thing. I know how she felt, and I would NEVER do anything like that to her again. "
"I should hope so."
But he looked like he was taking my words seriously. Fortunately.
"Daad ... there's no more beer in the garage at all," Bella said, just as she walked through the door.
"Sorry, must have made a mistake," he said, looking at the game.
I did the same.
Bella
What was that all about? Charlie usually knew if he had any beer left somewhere, and if there wasn't any, he put it on the shopping list. From the looks of it, they were getting along just fine. The sports recap of the day was on ESPN, and they were talking shop about the different teams and players. Emmett seemed totally at ease.
"Bella said you're two years older than her, so you're not in school anymore, right? Are you working?", Dad asked Emmett.
The Cullens had more than enough money. Emmett didn't have to work.
"I'm working as a bouncer in Port Angeles so I can go to college next year. I want to finance my own studies. However, I'm in the same year as Bella, since I lost two years because of the adoption at that time," he told without batting an eye.
Where did he get this lie so quickly?
"Ah ... very nice. Any college in sight yet?", my dad asked further.
"Maybe something in Alaska or Canada," he said, grinning at me.
As long as it was remote, so I didn't kill people, I thought.
Emmett looked at his Rolex.
"Oh ... it's already eight-thirty. I'd better go home." Then he stood up and shook Charlie's hand. "Thanks for letting me come," he said to Charlie.
"Nice to meet you," he replied.
I walked with Emmett to the door and hugged him.
Since you could not see the door from the living room, I gave him a kiss.
"Are you still coming to see me later?", I asked hesitantly.
"Sure thing! See you later," he said cheerfully, gave me a kiss and disappeared in his jeep.
I went upstairs to take a shower and then went to bed.
A few minutes later, Emmett came back and slipped into bed with me.
"Hi, beautiful," he whispered to me.
"Hi ...", I said briefly before I started kissing him.
But I had to start chuckling in the middle of the kiss.
"Can I join in the laughter?", Emmett asked me.
"I just imagined you as a bouncer. Hihi ... How did you have a perfect lie ready so quickly?", I asked him when I stopped chuckling.
"My brain just runs faster than yours." And he gently patted me on the head. "Sounds pretty hollow in there, Bella. Maybe you should get yourself checked out," he said with a grin.
"Yeah right, you're a genius," I remarked wryly. "Did you guys actually talk about anything when I was in the garage?"
I almost forgot.
"He asked me if I loved you and threatened me that I wouldn't pull the, and I quote 'the same shit as that Edward'," he said nonchalantly. "Anyway, I think he liked me and found me believable ..." he opined.
That calmed me down a bit again.
"You should sleep now. Tomorrow school starts again."
I moaned loudly.
"Please don't remind me!"
