2004 in New York City…

When Harry became aware of his newest universe after a trip through the Between the god found himself with the identity of Blade. Blade was a vampire-human hybrid who hunted pure vampires. The Fey also realized he was of African-American descent. This didn't bother Harry. Throughout his many lives the sorcerer was green (the Hulk), Persian, able to morph into a black form (as Michael Corvinus), and many other different ethnicities. In truth the mage was a little surprised one of his counterparts had not been black before.

Harry's attention was diverted from musings about the ethnicity of his counterparts throughout the multi-verse by the shouts of the vampires he was pursuing from a building he had just set ablaze with explosives. The mage lifted one of his guns, armed with silver ammunition, and shot the vampire that was ablaze and screaming a dozen feet away through the heart. The vampire turned to ash.

"Ashing vamps never gets old," Harry declared with a grin. "Hmm…I do believe this universe could use a different type of hybrid," the sorcerer mused as he shifted form into his vampire-lycan hybrid physiology.

The god used his aura to keep his new form from those around him. The scattering vamps all went for their bikes. The motorcycles started easily. At the same time one vampire drove a car towards Harry, intent on running the hunter over. The warlock didn't move. Instead when the car was close enough the reality traveler crouched down with the speed of a god and lifted the vehicle off the ground by the back end. The car's wheels spun uselessly as the transport rested on its front bumper. The mage grinned as he punched through the floor of the car like the metal and other materials were tissue paper. The vamp sitting in the driver's seat dusted as Harry's claws shredded its body.

"I have missed destroying things," the sorcerer announced as he threw the car away, crushing one of the motorcycle riding vamps.

"You are so good at it Sir," Aristotle assured.

Three more vampires stupidly came charging at the hunter, one of them partially on fire. Harry caught this flaming opponent in a powerful grip before tossing the creature at one of his comrades with enough force to send the pair hurtling back into the flaming building where they turned to ash. The third opponent hissed at the wizard before charging as well. The Asian vampire reached a foot away from the god before it fell apart in two pieces, turning to ash starting with the point of bisection through the midline of its body.

"If I did not have temporal dilation utilizing sub-spatial optical sensors my Lord I would not have been able to follow that action. Well done," Aristotle commented.

The wizard sensed another vampire who was trying to sneak away. A bolt of lightning flew out of the mage's finger tip and struck the blood sucker, frying it so thoroughly it dusted. Several more of the vamps had managed to get away from the burning structure on their motorcycles. Harry took off flying, cloaked under his aura.

"I'm on the stone bridge overpass Whistler," Harry told the man who had raised his counterpart via an earpiece.

"I'm westbound just beneath you," the old hunter announced while triggering the horn of the tractor trailer he was driving.

According to a previous plan the mage touched down on the back of the tractor trailer and managed to keep his balance only thanks to his flight capabilities. The sorcerer slipped into the back of the open tractor trailer and proceeded to enter his car. Once the powerful vehicle was started up Harry drove out of the back of the moving trailer and quickly swung the vehicle around to pursue the enemy. Whistler gave a thumbs up as the god sped past. The Fey activated a NOS system to catch up to his prey. The two remaining vampire bikers opened up on the pursuing vehicle with automatic weapons.

Raising his open fist the mage closed his fingers together and telekinetically forced the bikers into each other. The two vampires were ground beneath the god's car after they fell off their transports. Harry continued after the car which contained a vampire and what he could sense was a Familiar, a vampire lackey who served vampires in turn for the promise of immortality. Familiars were despicable traitors to their species. It was then that the telepath picked up the intent of his prey. The vampires wanted to make the public hunt down Blade by showing him as a murderer. The god with far reaching instincts decided to play along for the moment. Blade had killed over a thousand familiars without hesitation for the terrible acts the traitors had performed for their vampire masters.

The sorcerer put a bullet through the back of the head of the vampire driving the car. A shot through one of the car's tires had it strike an object just right so that it flipped in the air and slid to a halt against a steel light pole. Harry stopped his vehicle as several pedestrians pulled the injured Familiar from the crashed car.

"He's got a gun," the wizard heard one of the pedestrians shout as the good Samaritans noticed the Familiar had a hand gun.

The Familiar looked at Harry and attempted to run. A knife shot out of the warrior warlock's grasp and imbedded itself into the Familiar's throat. The man collapsed to the ground choking on his own blood. The immortal Potter turned and looked directly at the camera held by Danica Talos. A police helicopter arrived followed closely by several patrol cars as everyone observing saw the infamous Blade get into his car and drive away. In actuality it was Aristotle who was driving the car away in his master's form. The god was closing in on some new prey while invisible.

"Hello Danica," Harry purred into the vampire bitch's ear as his hand wrapped around her throat.

Danica was terrified as she heard the voice of Blade, the vampire hunter she was trying to bring down using the humans.

"What…what are you going to do? Are you going to kill me?" Danica questioned, hating the fear in her voice even though she could not mask it.

"A hot little thing like you…of course not. I'm going to make you my bitch," the sorcerer promised as he drew up a bubble of dilated time around himself and his newest slave.

Danica released the footage of her master disposing of the Familiar at Harry's direction. The deity knew the vampires' plan and decided to go along with it for the time being. It would be amusing to the Fey to see the vampires thinking they had him trapped when it was really him who had them at his mercy. After finishing his session of fun with Selene the mage and his wife replaced his replicat duplicate before the car arrived the waterfront warehouse the vampire hunter and Whistler were currently operating out of. Selene of course was invisible to all but her mate.

"What the fuck happened tonight?" Whistler asked brusquely when Harry entered the warehouse.

"It was a setup. A Familiar wore fake vampire teeth to trick me into killing him. I would have killed him in a more private setting if I had known he wouldn't dust," Harry answered.

"I just hope nobody was able to identify you," Whistler said. "Take this," the white haired old man instructed while handing the mage a small device. "It's a new delivery system for your serum; an effervescent inhaler made by some friends of mine. Bite down on the mouth guard and you'll get a dose."

"Thanks Whistler," the reality traveler said even though he no longer required the serum.

Harry and Selene were using their higher consciousness abilities to keep an eye on Danica at the same time. A replicat was making sure no harm came to the sex slave. Across town Danica was acting as if everything was business as usual when it was anything but.

"What has he been doing?" Danica asked her fellow vampires while turning a computer monitor to look at the security camera feed from the room which held Drake A.K.A. Dracula, the first vampire.

Danica could see that Drake was feeding.

"He has just been feeding. He has been through five of them so far tonight," Asher Talos, Danica's brother, answered.

"Do you think we have enough security," an Asian female vampire, Virago, stupidly asked.

"I wouldn't be talking like that Virago. Drake allowed us to bring him here. He's powerful enough to break out of that room and slaughter us all," Danica warned. "I will go see what he wishes to do now."

Danica walked over to a scanner and passed her family mark under security scanner. The massive vault-like door opened when the brunette's identity was confirmed. Once the outer door closed a second door opened. Drake could sense the doors opening and closing. Even Danica was horrified by what she saw when she walked into the room and found a pile of bodies with the hideous form of Dracula feeding on the latest deceased. Dracula was a limited shape shifter. The first vampire could take on the forms of other humans but his base form was a monster with many sharp ridges and separating mandible like jaw bones and a probe like tongue. Dracula looked much like a true demon from the reality traveler's home universe.

Drake stood from his kill and walked through the shadows, transforming into the form of a man.

"You should not have woken me," Drake declared angrily.

"We did not see any alternative. Your blood is the only way for us to be free. We are forced to hide in the night," Danica explained.

"What makes you think I care," Drake growled out while grabbing Danica by the throat.

"We may not be what you had envisioned but we are still your people. We need you," Danica tried.

Tossing Danica to the floor Drake said with a disgusted tone, "You are nothing but former shadows of your former manifestations. You have fallen far since I was last awake."

"The world has changed since you were last awake. A new hunter stalks the Earth defending the humans. He is unlike any our kind has faced before. He goes by the name Blade," Danica informed the first vampire.

"You want me to kill him don't you," Drake replied.

"I think you will want him dead just as much as all vampires do when you meet him," Danica suggested.

"I will be the judge of that," Dracula announced. "Leave me."

Danica departed the room as quickly as possible without appearing afraid.

It was only the next night that Whistler was unknowingly followed back to the warehouse after picking up a newspaper. The followers were cops and federal agents.

"Congratulations Blade…you are famous," Whistler declared while throwing the paper down on the table where the deity was examining some weaponry. "Your face is all over the news, both print and television."

"Don't worry so much Whistler. It's bad for your health," Harry suggested.

"It's a PR campaign Blade," Whistler declared. "And you're right…this isn't good for my health. I went and got old on you. You are like a son to me. I can see you in the future alone and surrounded by enemies. I don't want that. That future would break my heart. You can't win this war by yourself."

"I have the feeling things will change in the very near future old man," Harry assured, calling Whistler old man affectionately.

"If he only knew," Selene said to her husband over the bond. "You could no more be alone than Albus Dumbledore could resist meddling."

"Amen to that," Harry agreed.

It wasn't long until the police began to set up camp around the warehouse in an attempt to capture the vampire hunters.

"How do you want to play this love?" Selene asked as she and her husband looked through the walls of the warehouse and saw the forces coming to capture the infamous Blade. "He misses his family," the brunette added as her gaze fell upon Whistler who was turning his wedding band on his finger.

Whistler's family had been slaughtered by a vampire decades ago. The old man had been forced to watch. The vampire had even tried to make Whistler choose which family member died first.

"Let's give Whistler his family back and let him retire," Harry suggested.

Immediately at his master's will Aristotle dispatched a replicat team into the past to retrieve Whistler's family and set them up on a nice exotic island with a bevy of comprehensive and quite effective wards.

"Whistler," Harry called to his old friend.

"Yeah Blade," the old man responded as he walked out of the room he had been sitting in.

"I've been thinking about what you said. I don't like the fact that you have been getting old on me," the Fey declared.

"I'm sorry kid…you aren't God. There's nothing you can do to stop my aging. I'm not getting turned," Whistler said.

"I'm not the God you are thinking of, but I am a god," the deity replied.

"Have you forgotten to take your serum again and are delirious?" Whistler asked, looking at Harry as if he were crazy.

"Look at your hands and tell me you don't believe me," Harry replied.

Whistler looked at his hands and found tight young skin with no wrinkles. Suddenly a full length mirror was in front of the hunter and he could see his young face for what it was.

"I'm no older than I was when I lost my family," Whistler exclaimed in amazement.

"You're younger in fact. And you haven't lost your family. They just went away for awhile," the wizard assured while projecting a hologram in the air in front of Whistler showing his family alive and well on the island. "They are waiting for you. It's time you retired and enjoyed yourself. We can talk about this later."

"Blade, I have another," Whistler began before being cut off.

"I know," Harry assured. "I know far more than you think. Just go be with your family and I'll make sure everything works out," the mage suggested.

"I want to see them," the younger Whistler decided. "Thank you Blade."

"No need to thank me. You gave me a purpose when I could have turned into a monster. This isn't goodbye. It's an I'll see you later," Harry said before teleporting Whistler away to be with his family.

"That was good timing. Here come the feds," Selene announced.

With a burst of super speed Harry ran to the door of the warehouse and burst out. Selene stepped out behind her man and tossed a several strategically placed fusion grenades back into the warehouse with her telekinesis. The warehouse vaporized before the police could get near it.

"Well…what are you waiting for?" The god demanded of the tactical unit aiming weapons at him.

Harry was unarmed because all of his weaponry was stored in his trunk. There was no use letting the feds see all of the vampire hunting equipment. It didn't take the immortal long to end up in an interrogation room in police headquarters downtown. Several hours later two men entered the interrogation. The deity was pretending to be asleep when in fact his mind was quite active, learning more about this new world with his vast array of senses.

"Rise and shine sleepy head," the Caucasian of the two mortals said. "Special Agent Cumberland and this is Hale, FBI," Ray Cumberland introduced. "We have been tracking you a long time."

"I would say it is a pleasure to meet you gentlemen but under the circumstances I do not think that is the case. And to make a correction you have been tracking Blade a long time," Harry replied.

"And who are you?" Hale asked, surprised at the calm disposition the rumored vampire hunter displayed.

"Someone else," the Fey answered with a mysterious and reserved smile that unnerved the two agents.

"Well we're going to call you Blade if you won't give us another name. Out of curiosity how many people have you killed Blade? Two dozen, three, four dozen," Cumberland suggested.

"1,182 but they were all Familiars, bitches for vampires that would slit their own parents' throats for the promise of immortality," Harry replied.

"How do you kill these vampires Blade…do stakes still work in this day and age?" Cumberland joked.

"What about Garlic…does that work?" Hale joked.

"You two are very amusing," the sorcerer said with no mirth in his tone. "Just know that if you were Familiars you would be dead right now."

"You don't scare us you stone cold killer," Cumberland replied even though he did feel scared at the threat.

There was something in Blade's eyes which promised death to the black man's enemies.

"How about you leave the diagnosis to the professionals," a man who had just entered the room suggested. "Hello Blade, my name is Dr. Vance. I'm in charge of giving you a psychiatric evaluation. Gentlemen, would you mind giving us a couple of minutes alone?"

"The sick fuck is all yours," Hale said as he and his partner left the room.

As soon as the door closed Harry froze Vance and the police chief, Martin Vreede, who was observing from behind the mirrored glass in place telepathically.

"I have no wish to banter with Familiars," Harry projected to Selene.

"I don't blame you my love. They bore me too," the brunette beauty replied.

After a sufficient enough time had passed the mage sent Vance from the room. The Familiar thought he had succeeded in dosing Blade with a tranquilizer. Danica arrived in the building with her posse in order to take custody of the day-walker. Selene and her husband knew that would never occur.

"Hi Blade…I'm so glad to finally meet you," Danica greeted as she led the way into the interrogation room, managing to sound anything but glad when she really felt a strong desire to drop to her knees and please her master. "I like your tattoos. Do they mean anything?"

"They are cleansing fire," the mage answered to give the meaning of the wavy marks on his skin.

Danica sat in her master's lap and whispered, "We move the humans around like pawns. We used them to flesh you out."

Danica stood and her brother came forward to release the shackles holding the god's arms to the chair.

"You know…you're not so big," a big vampire named Jarko Grimwood declared.

"You're all alone Blade…no one is going to help you now," Danica said, forewarned by her master that her statement was in fact very false.

At that moment an ashing vampire was thrown through the observation window. A man wearing a tactical vest and a nametag that said Fuck You jumped through the glassless window frame into the room.

"Evening ladies," the man greeted.

"Hannibal King," Danica screeched in rage, identifying the man.

Hannibal pulled a gun and shot one of the minion vamps, turning the creature to ash.

"Wake up Blade this is your rescue," Hannibal declared while managing to get a serum inhaler into the day-walker's mouth moments before he was overwhelmed by vamps.

The sorcerer struck out at the vampires in the room, tossing Asher Talos into a nearby wall with enough force to crack the mortar. Every vampire but Jarko ran from the room when they saw that Blade was free. Jarko had his back turned to the Fey. Harry darted forward and thrust his clawed hybrid hand through Jarko's back, ripping the already ashing vampire's heart from the corpse.

"Thanks," King managed to get out in a croak while rubbing his sore throat, quite a feat for someone who had just been choked by a strong vampire.

"Move, I'm grabbing my gear," the mage ordered while ducking into a room across the hall.

The sorcerer summoned his combat gear onto his body from his trunk and stepped back into the hall. King just assumed the gear was stored in the room adjacent to the interrogation chamber. The first cops the two males encountered were felled by swift blows to pressure points. The officers were out within seconds.

"Nice," King complimented, in awe of the day-walker's skills.

Tactical officers showed up with guns but the immortal moved with speed beyond what the mortals could aim at and tore their weapons from their grasp before disabling them. At that moment a gorgeous young woman in a red vest and a quiver of arrows fought two cops at the end of the hallway.

"Whistler," King called after the woman had dispatched the two cops efficiently.

"This way," Abigail Whistler called.

The two men followed Abigail around several corners dead ending into a hallway. At one end of the hallway was a group of automatic weapon toting cops and at the other end a group of vampires. The mage tackled Abigail and King to the ground just as the two groups opened fire, hitting each other. Several bullets hit the god's back but ricocheted off his back. Meanwhile Abigail couldn't help but notice despite the life threatening situation that the dark warrior on her back was extremely well endowed as his package was resting against her bum. The warlock drug the two back into the hallway they had just exited from during a lull in the battle.

"I've got this," Abigail called while the two men laid down cover fire.

The brown haired beauty unzipped her leather sleeves to give her more freedom of movement and drew out a folded up crossbow. The resourceful Abigail drew out a special arrow which contained a capsule at the end. The capsule acted like a flare of UV light when the projectile hit its target. Abigail took aim while the two men kept the cops from shooting her and shot an Asian vampire in the chest. Harry tossed a powerful flash bang grenade down the hall towards the cops and the trio of vampire hunters went in the direction the vampires had previously been in but was now filled with ash. The trio ran down the stairs and out of the building through the lobby. Half a dozen police cars pulled up at that moment but only three were especially close to the steps of the building.

"Ok…we're fucked," Hannibal declared.

"Not quite," Harry assured as he rushed towards the closest police car.

The mage took hold of the front and as the startled occupants of the vehicle watched on, lifted the car and flipped it onto its roof. The occupants were dazed and disoriented but unharmed thanks to their seatbelts. With incredible speed the other two nearest police cars were turned over as well. The other police cars stayed back when they saw what was happening to their comrades.

"He's handy to have around," Hannibal informed Abigail.

"I can see that," the young woman agreed, quite impressed as she and her friend took cover behind the overturned cars.

Just as the distant cops managed to get out of their vehicles and draw their weapons a blue blazer rammed its way between two of the cars and drove towards the three vampire hunters with music blaring. The police opened fire on the vehicle but Harry made sure none of the bullets connected with his new allies as he followed Abigail into the back seat of the blazer.

"We got em," the driver said into the phone. "We'll be there soon."

"I know you are Hannibal King from Danica's screech," Harry said to Hannibal. "And this lovely young woman is a Whistler."

"Abigail," the indicated woman supplied.

"Who might you be?" The Fey asked the driver, recognizing the black male as a counterpart to someone from Atlantis in the stargate universe.

"My name is Dex," the driver answered.

"It's nice to meet you," the warrior wizard greeted. "This may seem tactless but I thought Whistler's family was killed by vampires."

"I was born later out of wedlock. I never knew my half sisters or their mother," Abigail explained as the blazer pulled into an area of the docks that wasn't frequented by many people. "When I came of age I tracked my dad down and told him I wanted in. I've been doing this ever since."

"And doing it quite well I might add," Harry informed Abigail.

"You're pretty damn good yourself," Abigail flirted.

The quartet arrived at a boat where a little girl was watching from the deck.

"Welcome to the honeycomb hideout," Hannibal declared as the group entered the boat.

"How do you pay for your operations?" Harry inquired curiously.

"I date a lot of older men," King joked.

"That's funny," the mage said with a smile.

"Your smile scares me…when I see it I have this feeling someone is going to die," Hannibal announced.

"I think it's a great smile," Abigail interjected. "A sexy smile," the young woman added in her mind.

"I do agree," the telepathic Selene informed her husband as she floated alongside the group and easily picked up Abigail's projected thought.

"This is Hedges," King introduced more people as the quartet arrived in a large room. "Sommerfield here is the one who built that new serum inhaler you have been using," Hannibal said while indicating a decently attractive blind woman. "The runt you saw earlier was Sommerfield's daughter Zoe. We call ourselves the Nightstalkers."

"Well I suppose that name will have to do," Harry said while shaking his head at how easily Drake could have killed the Nightstalkers.

In fact the deity had a feeling that thought was a result of the subconscious use of his power to see into the not too distant future of whatever reality he was residing in. A quick activation of that particular power proved it. Drake would slaughter everyone onboard the Nightstalker's base boat but Zoe and King without divine intervention.

"Shall I go ahead and erect wards?" Selene asked, privy to her husband's musings via the bond.

"Yes, and dispatch a detachment of replicats to protect every one of the Nightstalkers," the Fey instructed his lover.

Selene disappeared to the top deck of the vessel. The vampiress had become quite adept at using her witch powers in the years since she first gained those abilities.

"We operate in sleeper cells. When one cell goes down another cell activates to pick up the slack," King announced, further outlining Nightstalker operations.

"You can consider us your reinforcements," Dex suggested.

"Well…I'm not about to turn down more help. Thank you for providing a method for me to exit that federal building without revealing too many of my abilities. I had learned about all I was going to get out of Talos and her pack of familiars," the sorcerer replied.

"Are you saying you allowed yourself to be captured to gather Intel?" Abby asked.

"Of course…I would have never let the mortal authorities near me otherwise," the vampire hunter assured.

"Damn," King muttered, unsettled that the dark hunter would go to such lengths for intelligence on the enemy.

Meanwhile in the headquarters of the vampires who had resurrected Drake, Danica was putting on a performance for her former allies.

"Fucking Hannibal King…I should have ripped his heart out when I had the chance," Danica screamed in rage before smashing her fist into the table, denting the surface. "We had Blade. We had him," Danica shouted while kicking some blond new vamp in the face. "I don't want to hear any declarations of how much you told me so Asher."

"What's wrong half-pint…do you need a time out?" Asher replied mockingly.

"Blow me," Danica answered. "I've got a bigger dick than you."

"Has Drake been told?" Virago asked, interrupting the potential sibling quarrel.

"Yes, I have learned about your failure," Drake said in a deceptively calm manner as he entered the room. The progenitor of vampire-kind was a seething cauldron of rage and anger under the cool exterior he projected. "Maybe it is time I joined the game," Drake suggested. The first vampire's definition of a game was ancient and much more deadly than the modern day game.

"So what is your history with Talos? I know you have a history with her. I can smell her on you even now. I can tell she once bit you," Harry asked King once all but he and Abby went about their business.

"I guess I'll have to shower more," King quipped. Abby was immune to King's humor by this point and didn't even bat an eye. "Talos was the kind of woman that just screamed trouble but I still foolishly asked for her number. That seems to be the only type of woman I ever hook up with." As he talked King loaded a disc from his combat gear recorder into a nearby computer terminal and played a video showing Danica dodging his shots. "This betty blew all previous contenders away in the cluster-fuck contest. Unlike your typical vampire, Danica's fangs are located in her vagina."

"I can attest to the fact that Danica's fangs are definitely not located in her vagina," Harry assured.

There was dead silence for several moments as Abby and King exchanged worried looks.

Abby then asked, "You slept with Talos?"

"Oh yes," the Fey answered truthfully. "Although there was no sleeping involved," the god assured. "I pounded that tight vampire pussy until it exploded quivering over my dick. And while Talos moaned and was weak with post-orgasmic syndrome I bit her."

"You bit her," King repeated in confusion.

"I bit her," the sorcerer confirmed. "My bite has an interesting result on vampires. Once bitten by me a vampire cannot drink from another living being. Talos can still get plasma from donated blood but not from a human."

"But she can still kill," King pointed out.

"No she can't. I implanted her with one of these," the mage explained as he held up a tiny disc shaped object. "If Talos attempts to kill a human this device will instantly dust her. I whispered that warning in her ear just before I pulled out of her tight ass."

"I thought you said you could attest to the fact that her pussy wasn't a biter," Hannibal pointed out.

"I can. That doesn't mean I couldn't also test out her fine ass," Harry pointed out before turning to look at a flushed Abby.

The telepath picked up Abby's imaginings which just happened to be centered upon her being bent over and getting buggered from behind.

"Induce her would you love?" Harry requested of the recently returned Selene.

"Gladly," Selene answered as she reached over and ran a finger up the cleft of Abby's butt.

The witch channeled her husband's power and sent a pleasure bolt directly into Abigail Whistler's bum. It was all Abby could do to suppress her moan as she climaxed violently at the thoughts of being sodomized by Blade.

"But how did you meet Talos in the first place?" Hannibal asked.

"I was gathering Intel in a vampire club in disguise. Talos didn't know it was me until I wanted her to," Harry assured.

"Well, that wasn't exactly the nature of our relationship," Hannibal announced as he struggled to hide the boner he had developed while imagining Blade ass raping that bitch Talos. "I spent five years as Danica's little vampire cabana boy after encountering her in a bar. Eventually Abigail found me and Sommerfield cured me. Now I kill them as my way of turning a frown upside down."

"We could very much use your help," Abigail said. "Or more aptly put we would like to help you in any way we can," the gorgeous young woman suggested. "He has come back."

"Dracula," Harry said.

"You knew?" Abigail asked in surprise.

"Every few centuries the lower class vampires have tried to start a movement to find Dracula and bring him back. The pureblood vampires knew what Dracula was really like and feared him. Dracula went to sleep for a reason and didn't want to be woken. The purebloods put the movements down quickly. But with the wiping out of the majority of the purebloods I would imagine the movements haven't been getting surprised," Harry explained.

"How do you know all of this?" King queried.

"I've been reading through the vampire historical archives over the last few years. I acquired those archives when I wiped out their previous owners," answered the mage. "Well…Deacon Frost wiped out the majority of the purebloods in his bid to become a blood god and then I killed Frost."

"We have heard rumors about that time," Abby said.

"I did a bit of acquisition myself from Talos," King declared as he led his two companions into a section of the ship which held relics from vampire history. A stone carving depicted Drake's true form, a hideous demon-like creature. "Danica had stonework, ironwork, art. This symbol/glyph shows up everywhere."

"Dracula's symbol," Harry confirmed. "How far back have you traced Drake's history?"

"Six or seven thousand years," Abby replied.

"We found a piece of his armor among this pilfered collection. We used the DNA remnants we found on the armor to extrapolate a basic idea of what Drake looked like," Hannibal explained as he brought the model up on a computer terminal. "Dracula is only one name this creature went by. The Babylonians worshipped him as Dagon. Now he goes by Drake. If the legends are true then he was born in ancient Sumeria. The specifics of his origin are unknown but we think he was the first of his kind…the patriarch of hominous nocturna. Drake was born perfect. Just like the great white shark this guy has never had to evolve. He has been there behind the scenes cutting a terrible and bloody path through the ages. Then suddenly he up and disappeared. Then we heard a rumor that the vampires were searching for him. We had also heard the rumor that Drake was sleeping through the ages because he was disgusted with the world. Intel suggests the vampires found Drake in Iraq six months ago. Drake was pissed."

"Drake is most likely a demon from some other dimension or universe," Harry suggested. "Other than the vampire mutation there isn't much evidence of extra-dimensional interaction in this reality."

"What are you talking about?" Abigail asked, bewildered. "Are you saying demons are real?"

"You hunt vampires on a routine basis and you are asking me that?" Harry questioned with one eyebrow raised.

"Good point," the young woman muttered.

"How do you know about all of this science stuff? Whistler said you were a hunter, not a scientist," King pointed out.

"Whistler didn't know everything about me," Harry assured with an enigmatic smile. "Do you have someplace I can rest?"

"Of course," Abby replied. "I can show you to your room," the young woman offered while leading the handsome dark warrior out of the room and up a flight of stairs to the deck above. "You'll be sleeping right next to me…I mean your room is right next to mine," Abby amended, flustered.

"I understand," Harry assured with an easy smile.

"You're not what I expected. My dad said you were often moody and broody, mostly silent. That's a lot like dad actually," Abby suggested. "Here is your room," the beauty announced while indicating a door in front of her. "I'm just to the left. If you need anything just let me know."

"I'll always be grateful to your dad for getting me off the street and helping me to fight the vampires but there were parts of my life I had to keep to myself in order to have a reason for fighting outside of the life of a hunter. I have a feeling as we get to know each other better I might just share some of that part of me with you Abby. And I'll be sure to come to you with all of my needs," Harry assured.

Abby shuttered through another orgasm as the mage closed his door and at the word needs.

Meanwhile in the outside world Drake had gotten the urge to explore and was killing and feeding. The replicats were doing their job and replacing any humans Drake would have encountered. The vampire couldn't taste the difference between synthetic and natural blood. Harry got settled into the Nightstalker abode and learned a bit more about their operation after resting up. As night fell once more in the world the group prepared to fight the undisciplined breed of vampires again.

"When I was under the fang there was talk of some kind of vampire final solution," Hannibal informed Harry while leading the way into Sommerfield's lab. "Vampires have always had plans for the human race. I think Drake's return is part of those plans. It seems like this is a losing battle we are fighting. Even though we kill hundreds of vampires a year there are thousands if not tens of thousands in the world."

"So that's where you come in Miss Sommerfield," Harry suggested. "You are developing a biological weapon."

"Yes," Abby confirmed, quite surprised at how observant Blade was.

"For you sighted people, here's a little show and tell," the blind Sommerfield said. "For the last year I have been working with synthesized DNA in order to create an artificial virus targeted specifically at vampires." The nearby computer terminals showed the virus. "We are calling the virus Daystar."

"We could wipe out all vampires in one single move," Hannibal suggested.

"We need a better strand of DNA to work with," Abby explained. "We need Dracula's blood."

"Because Dracula is the progenitor his DNA is pure," Harry confirmed.

"Not bad Blade," Sommerfield said. "I'm impressed. Drake's DNA hasn't been diluted by a hundred generations of selective mutation. If we get Drake's blood we can boost Daystar's viral effectiveness to 100%."

"All the vampires go bye-bye," Hannibal summed the plan up. "So…can we just go ahead and sign you up for one of our secret Nightstalker decoder rings?"

"I'll help," Harry agreed. "But first," the mage began as he pulled a syringe seemingly out of his combat vest. The syringe had actually been beamed down from the god's orbiting cruiser. "Would you allow me to inject you with this syringe Miss Sommerfield? I promise it won't hurt you."

There was something in the dark vampire hunter's that was reassuring. Sommerfield found herself nodding in agreement.

"What was that supposed to do?" Hannibal impatiently asked half a minute after the injection was given.

In response an amazed Sommerfield pulled her sunglasses off and looked right at the men in the room.

"What was in that injection?" Sommerfield demanded as she gazed around the room and spotted her daughter. "Zoe," the scientist said as tears of happiness came to her eyes.

Harry nodded towards the door and the others left the room as mother and daughter shared a moment that was meant for them alone.

"How did you do that?" Abigail asked as Hannibal led the way to another lab on the ship.

"My blood has healing properties if you know how to prepare it correctly," the wizard simply answered.

"What do you have cooked up for us Hedges?" Hannibal asked as the group entered the man's lab.

"Well gentlemen and hottie," Hedges began. "We have a wide assortment of ass kicking implements for you to view and ogle today. "An electronic pistol that comes in a variety of tasty calibers," the engineer explained as he held up the pistol.

"Explosive rounds with a concentrated burst of UV light," Harry observed. "Impressive but I prefer to go with the good old silver nitrate mix," the sorcerer announced as he removed a clip from one of the guns in the back of his combat vest.

"Good old," Abby exclaimed as she examined the clips. "We've never even come across something like this."

"That's because they aren't originally from this universe," Selene observed.

The weapons were from the beautiful vampire's home universe.

"I've got adequate stores if you want to try them out. I can assure you they are quite effective. I can show you how to make them Hedges," Harry suggested.

"I would appreciate that," the short engineer agreed. "Moving on…we call this the UV arc," the engineer explained as he held up a device which expanded out at the press of a button from a compact form so that it looked like a string-less bow.

"A UV laser," Harry observed. "Quite impressive," the sorcerer complimented the Nightstalker engineer.

Hedges passed the active laser device to Abigail who continued the session of show and tell.

"This bad piece of tech is half as hot as the sun and can cut through vampires like a knife through butter," Abby announced.

The young woman then pressed a switch and caused the arc to collapse into a compact form. The process reminded Harry of an Autobot shifting form.

"Yes, and it will also cut through a person too," the Fey deity observed. "Before we use that in any future missions I will show you Mr. Hedges how to integrate a phase aura discriminator into the energy emitter so that a human wielder isn't harmed by accident."

"What's a phase aura discriminator?" Hedges questioned in confusion.

In answer Harry removed a rectangular strip from his combat vest. The strip expanded into a rectangular prism in the shape of a sword hilt at the press of a button. The mage ran his thumb along the handle and a glowing purplish beam of ultra-violet energy extended out of the tip.

"You built a fucking light-saber," Hannibal cried in amazement.

"Something like that," the grinning wizard answered before slashing towards Hannibal's right thigh faster than the man could hope to counter. Hannibal cried out but as the blade came into contact with his thigh it flashed right through the matter. "Every living creature has an energy aura surrounding it. Each species has a unique aura which different beings have a slight variation along the band of the spectrum that specie's aura occupies. My weapon will target a spectrum I set it to while passing right through non-target species."

"Wicked," Hedges declared. "I want one."

Harry removed three more strips from his vest and handed one to Hannibal, Abby, and Hedges.

"Wait…if you have a light-saber why the hell are you still using a steel sword?" Hannibal asked.

"I never said my sword was made out of steel," Harry pointed out. "Besides that…I already have enough advantages over vampires without needing to use what amounts to instant death for a vampire."

"Thanks," Hannibal said as he and the other two Nightstalkers experimented with their new toys.

Hello readers…it's been a long time since I updated this story. As those of you who read my other works know that I haven't been idle. I'm just working on other stories. I have been trying to tackle some of the bigger Path verses which are a struggle for me ever since I finished writing the bulk of the original Path story Beginning a New Path. I wrote 160,000 words of that story in a month while going to college full time. Since then my muse can be somewhat fickle and slow but at least she is consistent. This is part 1 of 2 of the Blade verse.

I have a favor for those of you who read my story on hpfanficarchive. If you like my story please take the time to add it to your favorites list. Path is the most read story and I am the favorite author but for some reason this my biggest story is not the favorite story.
