1933, Thebes, Egypt…
Harry was walking through the underground tunnel of one of the mortuaries in ancient Thebes thinking about his life while Evy did a bit of excavating. He had been thinking about the last seven years since he had come to this universe. He had married a beautiful woman, had a son with her, and had led a generally adventurous life with his family. He hadn't told Evy he was a god. As far as she knew he was a very powerful wizard. Their son Alex thought the same thing.
As far as Evy was concerned it was normal for a non-magical woman who mated with a magical man to gain some magical powers of her own. She knew nothing else about magic than what Harry told her. She was learning to harness a limited number of magical abilities Harry had allowed her to realize even as he taught his son.
"Alex, you know you shouldn't sneak up on me like that," Harry warned as he sensed his son appear in the corridor behind him.
Alex hadn't apparated but had practiced a minor form of shadow travel.
"Sorry dad," Alex answered. "I saw your tattoo."
"Oh," Harry inquired as he turned to face the seven year old blonde boy.
"On the wall near the entrance of the main chamber there is a cartouche which has your tattoo," Alex explained while pointing at the tattoo on Harry's wrist beneath the leather wrist gauntlet Harry wore.
Harry examined the tattoo with a pyramid, an eye, and two kings depicted on it. He truthfully hadn't thought anything of the tattoo that was left over from his counterpart's youth.
"I see," Harry said. "I will look at that a little later when your mom and I come up that way. In the meantime I want you to practice your stealth spells up in the main temple. Aristotle will make sure you are doing it right," he added as the large replicat materialized next to the god.
"Alright dad," Alex agreed.
"You agreed far too easily. Aristotle, he is not to go exploring without his mother or I present," Harry instructed.
"I understand," Aristotle answered.
"Dad," Alex whined.
"If Aristotle tells me you did good you can fly your own broom back," Harry offered.
"Alright," Alex said with sudden excitement.
As his son hurried off Harry thought about how he would sell the idea of Alex flying alone to his wife. It would be so much easier if he could tell her their son would survive the destruction of that entire universe. He went in search of her.

Harry walked into the room Evy was working in to find her eying a red asp on the floor. She hadn't noticed him yet as she scowled at the highly poisonous snake.
"Go away," Evy told the snake before kicking it with her boot, right towards Harry.
Harry caught the serpent in a telekinetic grip as it neared his face and listened to it hiss its displeasure.
"Stupid human female. I will bite thee," the asp hissed.
"Please don't. I would hate to have to disintegrate you," Harry hissed back at the snake.
"A god…walking the Earth once more. Very well, my lord. I will abide by thee," the asp replied.
"Leave the little one who smells like me alone as well. He is my son," Harry advised.
The snake bobbed its head in agreement as Harry set it down.
"It rather startles me when you do that," Evy told her husband as he set the snake down.
"You don't seem to mind when I use serpent speak on certain parts of you," Harry suggested.
Evy looked even more gorgeous than when he had first met her. Motherhood agreed with her. Her pregnancy had ensured she had curves filled out in all the right places.
"You have a point," Evy mused before leaning up and kissing her beau tenderly on the lips.
"Mmm…I never tire of that," Harry said. "So are you ready to open this passage?"
"Can I do it?" Evy asked excitedly.
"When you get that look I can't possibly say no. Have at it," Harry replied.
Harry stepped back and watched as Evy held her hands out towards the section of wall which was actually blocking another passage. Nothing happened for maybe ten seconds and then the section of wall began to lightly vibrate. Then the wall section came free and swung inwards to lean up against one side of the passage that was revealed. Evy let out a breathe of relief.
"You make that look so easy," Evy told her husband.
"You will get there someday, luv," Harry assured. The floor of the passageway revealed was full of deadly black scorpions. "That isn't pleasant. Are you getting any further memories?"
A few weeks previously Evy had started getting visions in her sleep which suggested they were memories from a past life. Harry had explored the visions via their bond but when he looked too closely at them they broke apart. They were emerging from her essence. Past lives weren't unique to this universe but they weren't something Harry had ever explored too heavily. Egyptian magic tended to explore the phenomenon of past lives more than any other branch of magic Harry had dealt with. He rather found them exciting. These past visions had left Evy with the desire to explore this particular mortuary in the city of Thebes.
"Not at the moment," Evy replied as a walkway materialized over the tunnel bottom filled with scorpions at the command of her husband's will. "But I do feel like I have been here before," Evy admitted. Evy reached a wall sconce and pulled it down to reveal a secret passage that opened as a doorway swung inwards. "Is that a good or a bad sign?"
"Yes," Harry answered with a comforting grin. "You know I won't let anything happen to you."
"I seem to recall you telling me that a lot even as a certain mummy high priest terrorized me," Evy pointed out while entering the revealed passageway.
"You know you enjoyed the excitement," Harry suggested.
"Ok, so maybe I did," Evy admitted. "And I was never in any real danger with my golem."
Much further down the tunnel the couple was exporing they came into a slightly wider passageway and immediately Evy experienced another vision but this one was much clearer. Harry also saw the vision through his bond with his wife. Evy saw the corridor as it was when the city was still inhabited over 3,000 years ago. The corridor was brightly painted and lit. The vault door at the end of the chamber was opened to reveal a decorated chest with a guard on either side before it was closed again. Evy watched as the woman that had opened the door turned the combination lock to re-lock the vault. The woman turned and left before the vision dissipated.
"Well that was rather vivid," Harry said.
"You saw that too?" Evy asked.
"Yes," Harry agreed. "These are definitely memories from a past life. They aren't anything to fear."
"You are sure?" Evy questioned unsurely.
"Yes," Harry agreed while wrapping one arm around his lover and hugging her.
Evy felt immensely comforted by her partner. Then with much calmer emotions she stepped forward and grasped the locking mechanism for the door to the vault. She pulled the mechanism back, turned it clockwise a short ways, then turned it back counterclockwise for a ways and pushed the mechanism back in. The vault door swung open partway. After Evy had stepped behind him, Harry pulled it open the rest of the way.
Harry looked up just then as three men tripped the alert ward he had guarding the main entrance to the mortuary.
"What is it?" Evy asked.
"The alert ward. We have three new arrivals," Harry announced.
"Alex," Evy said worriedly.
"Alex is fine. He's practicing his stealth and Aristotle is with him," Harry assured. "He won't be detected. Aristotle will make sure of it."
"If you're sure," Evy said. Then she projected somewhat weakly at Alex, "Alex, stay hidden from those men. I don't want them to even know you are there. Is that understood?"
Evy was learning how to project her thoughts across longer and longer distances but she was still at the beginning stages of her practice. Therefore her projections were rather weak.
"Yes mum," Alex answered, his sent thoughts actually much stronger than his mother's thoughts.
Like most of Harry's children Alex was a natural at utilizing many of his base abilities. The husband and wife stepped further into the vault. Evy walked towards the pedestal where the chest sat and vanished the cobwebs present.
"I do believe that is the emblem of the scorpion king," Evy observed as she eyed the golden disc standing behind the chest. "He is supposedly a myth passed down through the Egyptian people by word of mouth until it was recorded as something of a grim fairy tale in more recent books. No artifacts or physical evidence of him has ever been found."
She stepped over to one of the mummified guards standing nearby and removed the key to the chest from the necklace around the guard's neck. Evy opened the chest to reveal an intricate golden bracelt with a figure on top. The figure had the body of a scorpion and the head of a jackal.
"I take it that is a bracelet involving Anubis given the form," Harry said questioningly.
"Yes, it's called the Bracelet of Anubis," Evy answered even as she picked the bracet up.
The entire vault shuddered followed by a tremor going through the mortuary. She threw the bracelet back in the chest and closed the lid. The rumbling didn't stop.
"I think it's time to go," Harry said as he picked up the chest, shrunk it, and stored it in his pocket.
"Oh…I missed the inscription," Evy said as she read the pedestal where the chest had been sitting. "He who disturbs this bracelet shall drink from the Nile."
The couple left the vault to see a wall of water rushing towards them. Harry wrapped his arm around his wife's waist and took them out of phase. The water rushed right through them and they walked unharmed through it along the corridor back towards the main chamber where Alex was.
"Well that was interesting," Harry mused as the couple came into the main chamber to find Alex sitting on Aristotle's back.
"Have I mentioned how lovely it is to have you around all the time?" Evy declared with a grin up at him.
"Only a few times over the years," Harry answered before leaning down and kissing his wife.
"Mum…dad…don't do that," Alex said after a groan.
Harry walked over and ruffled his son's hair.
"Let's go little man," Harry replied.
"Did those thugs give you any trouble?" Evy asked her son.
"No. I wanted to play some tricks on them but Aristotle wouldn't let me," Alex complained.
"And good thing he did," Evy stated.

London…
"Reading between the lines of the myths about the Bracelet I think it may be some type of guide to the lost oasis of Ahm Shere which Anubis erected for the Scorpion King when the Scorpion King entered Anubis' service," Evy speculated as they entered their home in London.
"And you want to go looking for the oasis," Harry suggested.
"Yes," Evy agreed.
Alex was off checking on some of his pets. Though there were charms in place to feed and take care of his pets who knew what could happen with how long the family had been gone. A baby dragon getting lose in London wouldn't be of the good.
"So what else does legend say about this Scorpion King?" Harry inquired, sensing Evy was leaving something out.
"That he commands Anubis' army which rests at Ahm Shere. He awakens once every 5,000 years and if he isn't defeated he will lay waste to all who oppose him," Evy admitted.
"And you want me to kick his ass," Harry said.
"Pretty much. You know you can do it," Evy pointed out.
"True," Harry mused.
Evy didn't know about Harry's divine nature but she knew he was bad-ass. Harry followed Evy up a flight of stairs leading up to the second floor of their home.
"Ramses IV sent the last expedition actually conclusively known to reach Ahm Shere," Evy explained. "That was over 3,000 years ago. He sent over a 1,000 men and they were never heard from again."
"How did he know they reached the oasis then?" Harry questioned.
"Legend says his magicians were monitoring the men until they sighted the oasis. Then their monitoring magics failed," Evy answered.
"Anti-scrying wards," Harry mused.
"Alexander the Great sent troops in search of the pyramid of gold at Ahm Shere," Evy continued as she walked along the walkway and removed her coat. Harry really liked the top his wife was wearing. It accented her arms and neck. "Caesar and Napoleon too," she added.
Evy went over to one of her bookcases and climbed up onto a short ladder to find a particular book. Harry admired her rear at the level it was raised to. She jumped off the ladder into his arms. He reluctantly set her down.
Harry looked up and gazed off into the distance at that moment. Evy noticed it a moment later. The O'Connells had guests according to the wards.
"They are hostile," Harry surmised.
"Where is Alex?" Evy asked even as she used the wards to seek out her son.
Evy had full control over the wards with her husband but much less skill at using her magic to access and interface with them.
"He is with Starburst," Harry answered.
Starburst was the name of Alex's pegasus.
"Alex, there are bad people arriving on the property. Stick with Starburst and stay under stealth. Let your father and I handle this," Evy sent to her son.
"Ok mum," Alex sent back clearly.
"Now that that is taken care of…how do you want to handle them?" Evy queried, knowing they could have the wards simply keep the visitors out.
Harry peered through solid matter and examined their guests.
"Let's let them come in and show them why it is a bad idea to cross us," Harry suggested. "They appear to be here for the bracelet of Anubis."
Even from this distance Harry picked up some of the projected thoughts of the cult members who Harry even then realized had dug up Imhotep's body from Hamunaptra. They intended to resurrect him. This should be interesting.
"Where is the bracelet?" Evy asked.
Just then he was distracted by powerful magic coming from the location of the enclosure where the animals were kept.
"Your son just put it on," Harry mused.
"Alex, what have you done?" Evy demanded of her son.
"Sorry mum," this bracelet just showed me some directions.
"That can wait until later," Harry interuppted. "Alex, deploy your golem and send it in here. They are after the bracelet and that means you. We will just give them you or rather your golem. But we won't make it easy for them. Evy maybe you should deploy your golem too."
"I'm not some helpless damsel anymore," Evy argued. "You have shown me how to use magic."
Harry appeared reluctant but he knew deep down that he could find and protect Evy anywhere in this universe and through their bond in any other reality. Truthfully Evy was more powerful than she knew. She had the physical toughness of several really durable alien races activated in her genome including Kryptonians. Along with her Alteran nature protecting against energy based attacks she was virtually invulnerable.
"Alright. I won't fight you on this. But if you get yourself killed I will be walking into the afterlife to get you back no matter where you end up," Harry promised before pulling her into a deep kiss.
Evy wrapped her arms around his neck and melted into the kiss.
"If we had more time right now you would be getting so lucky. We both would," Evy whispered into Harry's ear, her tone full of promise and desire.
"Time we always have," Harry assured while he erected a time dilation field.
Several hours later from Evy and Harry's perspective they came out of time dilation. Seconds had passed for the outside universe.
"I feel so much better," Evy declared with an infectious grin. Just then she noticed some women's undergarments hanging up nearby. "Hey…those aren't my knickers."
"Your brother is here," Harry said after peering through a wall. "Do you want to talk to your brother or greet our guests downstairs?"
"Hmm…see my brother possibly in the middle of sex with some woman or deal with hostile forces. Now that is a though decision. I'll take the hostiles," Evy answered.
Harry touched the pendant Evy wore around her neck and watched as a layer of nanite armor flowed out of it and over the surface of her skin. The armor was form fitting.
"That is probably a good thing. They just split up so we will both be dealing with hostiles. One group is heading towards your brother," Harry mused.
Harry decided to let Jonathan sweat a little bit. He observed through the wall as the curator of the British museum Baltus Hafez and a very attractive woman named Meela Nais used a black Egyptian ask to interrogate Jonathan on the location of the bracelet. They had Jonathan confused for Rick O'Connell. Right as Meela drew close to Jonathan's throat with the asp Harry burst into the room. Two goons stood on either side of Jonathan, one with a knife to his throat. Another goon stood behind Jonathan. The five standing people in the room turned and faced Harry.
"Rick, you have great timing," Jonathan said.
"You made a mistake in coming here," Harry told the four hostiles. Meela drew back her arm and threw the asp at Harry. Harry caught the highly poisonous snake. "Do not bite anyone tonight," Harry commanded the asp.
"Very well speaker," the asp hissed back.
Meela and the other cult followers appeared very alarmed at this development.
"Shoot him," Meela shouted.
One goon drew his gun but Harry was faster. He shot the goon dead even as another goon pulled a throwing knife and tossed it at Harry. Harry caught the knife and sent it back at its thrower. The thrower was quick enough to move out of the way and his compatriot, the third goon took the knife in the chest instead. Harry took enough time to glance down into his main entryway and saw that Evy was engaged with the hostiles down there. Ardeth Bay had shown up and was also helping Evy fight. But Evy was kicking some serious ass. Part of the memories that were coming back to her from her past incarnation were fighting skills with various weapons. Harry had made her quite proficient in the martial arts in the past several years that they had been married but he hadn't spent much time on weapons training other than guns. She was decent at several minor but effective battle magics.
Harry had taught Evy several techniques to somewhat augment her strength. Really what she was doing was just releasing some of the power of her advanced form. He wanted her to learn control before he let her use her full power if she didn't immediately need it. She was putting that control to good use as she weaved and dodged around her opponents before nailing them with jabs and kicks at just the right spots to pulverize internal organs and break bones in extremely sensitive and painful regions of the body.
Just then another goon came into the room Harry was in carrying an automatic weapon. The goon opened fire. Harry calmly stood there and let the bullets hit him. The bullets compacted and dropped to the ground as they hit the god's invulnerable skin. The look on the faces of the three conscious cult members Hafez, Meela, Spivey (knife-thrower), and Khader (the gun-man) was priceless.
"That's what I am talking about," Jonathan said as he grabbed an ancient golden artifact out of the stunned hands of Hafez and walked behind Harry.
Harry picked up a small marble figurine lying nearby and tossed it at Khader's head so hard that the gun-man's skull caved in.
"I suggest you leave my house now," Harry said calmly as a sword appeared in his hand.
The cult members rushed from the room. Moments later Harry sensed something was wrong and jumped out of the window. He strode towards the driveway only to see a car speeding away with Evy inside. The woman wasn't aware that she could shrug off the effects of chloroform but that was really Harry's fault. He hadn't told her she was essentially a goddess yet.
"I wish that woman had listened and used a golem," Harry told Aristotle.
"Her replicat reports she is fine. They cannot harm her, Harry," Aristotle answered.
"I know. It is about time I revealed the truth to her," Harry mused.
"Good luck with that," Aristotle answered.
The replicat didn't sound hopeful for a positive outcome. Harry didn't blame his companion.
"Dad, they took mum," Golem-Alex shouted as he came running up with Ardeth and Jonathan.
"Ardeth," Harry greeted. "I wish we were seeing each other again under better circumstances."
"As do I my friend," Ardeth answered.
"We need to go after Evy," Harry said.
"You know where she is?" Ardeth questioned.
"Of course," Harry answered as he strode over to his car and got in. "Come on."
As they drove Ardeth explained, "The woman who is with the cult, Meela, knows things that no living person should know. She knew where Imhotep was buried. My order was hoping she would lead us to the bracelet. Obviously she did just that and now they have it."
"No they don't," Alex answered as he pulled up his sleeve. "When I put it on the bracelet showed me the pyramids at Giza. Then the hologram changed to Karnak."
"By activating the bracelet of Anubis you have started a chain of events which could lead to the next apocalypse," Ardeth censured.
"Come Ardeth…you know I won't let that happen," Harry assured. "Not if my wife doesn't kill me first," he muttered.
"I am sorry my friend. I am just worried. In seven days the Scorpion King will awaken since your son placed that bracelet on his wrist. If the Scorpion King is not killed he will raise the Army of Anubis and destroy the world. If the person who kills the Scorpion King wishes then the Army will hand the world over to the Scorpion King's defeater. Or the defeater can send the army back to the underworld. They hope to have Imhotep defeat the Scorpion King," Ardeth explained.
"Alex, I want you to stay here with Jonathan. Aristotle will make sure of that," Harry instructed.
"Dad," Alex said in a whining tone, knowing that he wouldn't be able to get past the replicat.
"You can use that technique I showed you to watch us inside. But that is it for now," Harry replied.
"Alright," Alex reluctantly agreed.
Alex could project a hologram of the events inside into the car and watch everything. Harry and Ardeth got out of the car outside the British museum.
"Ardeth…I think it is time I gave you a weapon which packs a bit more punch," Harry suggested as he produced a weapon that looked like a Thompson machine gun but was in fact a plasma repeater. Harry also produced a sword identical in shape to Ardeth's usual blade. "You will never run out of the ammunition used in that gun. Don't try using it on Imhotep. It may hurt him but he will just get pissed off and use his powers to hurt you. I don't want that. That blade will cut through anything and never break. If you lose it the blade will reappear back in its scabbard when you need it."
"You are truly a force for good my friend," Ardeth said. "Thank you." Ardeth noticed a tattoo on Harry's wrist at that moment and questioned, "How would you reply if I were to say to you I am a stranger traveling from the east, seeking that which is lost?"
"I would reply that I am a stranger traveling from the west. It is I whom you seek," Harry answered automatically. Harry felt magic flow from the tattoo on his wrist, something that had never happened before. He examined the tattoo with his magical sight. The enchantments woven into the tattoo were complex. "Huh…I never knew this tattoo was magical. It was given to me when I was an orphan in Cairo."
"That mark is given to protectors of man, warriors of god, like Medjai," Ardeth explained.
"This is all very interesting. I can look at the tattoo later. Now we need to go assist my wife," Harry explained.
Harry and Ardeth entered the museum and walked along the hallways. On the way the mummies in the various exhibits began coming back to life. These mummies were weak in comparison to Imhotep so the two warriors ignored them and continued on. Harry did enchant the glass of the exhibits to be unbreakable so the mummies couldn't get out. He placed sticking charms on the mummies that weren't in glass enclosures so that they would stick to their sarcophagi.
They arrived in the store room in the back of the museum to find a ritual circle lit with torches and lined by red turbaned goons. Hafez was chanting from the copy of the book of the dead Harry had left in Hamunaptra. Imhotep's remains were encased in a crystalline substance in the center of the ritual circle. Evy was sitting off to the side observing. Harry sensed she had just woken up and was still groggy. She was trying to focus the magic she knew enough to break her restraints but was having trouble with the grogginess. Imhotep roared at that moment while ripping open his crystalline encasing.
"What year is it?" Imhotep demanded of those kneeling before him in Ancient Egyptian.
"It is the year of the scorpion, my lord," Hafez answered.
Imhotep chuckled at this revelation. Meela chose that moment to enter. She strode towards Imhotep looking every bit the doppelganger of Anck-Su-Namun that she was. Harry experienced his wife having a vision of Anck-Su-Namun from ancient Egypt in place of Meela as the Imhotep worshipper walked towards the mummy. There was no denying Meela was beautiful. Visions flashed through Harry's mind of Meela and Evy wearing less clothing and doing some very erotic acts upon each other and on him.
"That outcome seems a very low probability, Harry," Aristotle suggested.
"Never underestimate just how effective my Aura can be at convincing women," Harry replied.
But inwardly he did acknowledge that it might be a harder sell with Evy since in her past life she was Princess Nefertiri. Nefertiri and Anck-su-Namun had not gotten on well. Considering Anck-su-Namun and Imhotep had killed Nefertiri's father it was easy to see why.
Meela came to a stop a short distance from Imhotep.
"Do not be frightened," Hafez advised.
"I am not," Meela assured calmly as she examined the mummy. Imhotep was not regenerated yet and looked quite disgusting. To Imhotep in Ancient Egyptian she said, "I am Anck-su-Namun reincarnated."
"Maybe in body," Imhotep said as he touched Meela's hair and walked around her. "Soon I shall call your soul back from the underworld. Only then will our love once again be whole."
Hafez walked away at that moment over to the chest which had held the bracelet of Anubis for millennia. Now the chest held a baseball trophy from the O'Connell household which Golem-Alex had placed inside as a decoy. The goon Lock-Nah opened the chest with acid on the lock.
"I have a gift for you," Meela told Imhotep while gesturing towards Evy.
Imhotep's eyes widened slightly as he laid eyes on Evy. Then he looked about suspiciously.
"Where is the man who follows her, O'Connell," Imhotep asked warily.
Imhotep didn't quite show fear but he was definitely cautious.
"We left him back at his house after taking his wife," Meela answered.
"His wife," Imhotep said in surprise.
"Yes. I knew her death would please you. You will kill her husband too if he gets in our way," Meela suggested. "He may be hard to kill but the Army of Anubis will tear him down."
Meela snapped her fingers and six of the red turbaned goons surrounded the wooden platform Evy was tied up on. They picked up her platform and carried her towards a human sized container of fire.
"The underworld awaits," Imhotep said. "Burn her."
Evy chose that moment to reveal that she had snapped her bindings. She stood and flipped over the fire while sending it tipping over and spilling on the goons that had just tried to kill her using a bit of magic. Ardeth chose that moment to open up with the plasma weapon. Small plasma projectiles rapidly tore through numerous red turbaned goons. Harry pulled Evy behind cover even as the cult returned fire at Ardeth and the Medjai warrior was forced to also duck for cover.
Harry wrapped his arm around his wife's waist and leapt clear up onto the balcony where Ardeth was faster than the cult members could draw a bead on him. One of Ardeth's plasma rounds hit crates of formaldehyde which exploded. Harry noticed Imhotep pulling a canoptic jar containing the remains of guardian mummies and so grabbed Ardeth and rushed them out of the building.
"I told you that you should have used your golem," Harry sent to his wife.
"I was fine," Evy answered.
"True," Harry agreed.
"We should take my magic carpet," Ardeth suggested as they cleared the front entrance of the building.
"No. If we take what Jonathan is bringing it will give me a platform to kill the guardian mummies Imhotep just brought forth," Harry replied even as Jonathan came driving into view at the steering wheel of a double decker bus. "We don't want to let those guardian mummies remain active for long."
The trio climbed onto the bus even as Alex said, "Uncle Jonathan broke your key off in the ignition."
"Never mind that. You remember our classes on fighting mummies?" Harry queried.
"Of course dad," Alex answered as he summoned a sword just the right size to fit him.
Alex's blade burst into scarlet flame even as the four guardian mummies burst out of the museum. Two of them didn't bother using the door. They took off running after the double decker.
"I'll take the top deck. You three stay down here and pick up any remaining," Harry directed.
When the bus began to pass between multi-story buildings two mummies jumped onto the buildings on each side of the street and crawled along the walls with alarming speed. One leapt towards the bus and Harry blew it out of the air with a plasma ball from his right hand. A second mummy ran forward a little faster and leapt at the side of the bus on the bottom deck. Harry saw his son's blade slice through the side of the bus and through the mummy without problem. Harry grinned proudly even as he felt Evy reach out with her power and catch a third guardian mummy in her telekinetic grip. She struggled for a moment but then managed to crush the mummy into an ever smaller space. As the magic that reanimated the guardian broke down it dissolved into sand. While Harry had been admiring the handywork of his wife the fourth mummy had headed towards Ardeth.
The Medjai had been admiring Evy's power as well and therefore didn't see it coming. But Alex did. The blonde boy leapt through the air and kicked the mummy in the chest so hard the guardian flew out of the back of the bus with its chest cavity caved in. Harry threw the infinity blade down into the mummy and watched as the blade sank into the stone of the street and distintegrated the mummy with a burst of magic. Harry summoned the blade back into his hand a moment later and then returned down to the bottom of the bus.
"I know my wife is amazing but you really should pay less attention to her and more to the threats around you," Harry teased Ardeth.
"My apologies," Ardeth answered. "You O'Connells have gotten even more dangerous than when we last met."
Evy crooked her finger over to her husband and asked him to come closer. He did so and she pulled him into a kiss. Alex went to stand behind the bus because he didn't want to see his parents kissing. He debated disconnecting his consciousness from controlling his golem but decided that was unecessary. When Lock-Nah grabbed Golem-Alex with a chloroform cloth over the boy's mouth Alex only had his golem put up a token resistance before going limp. The driver of the cult car drove away slowly and therefore conceivably wouldn't have alerted Alex's parents until the car was on the other end of the bridge the bus was parked on. By then one of the cult members had raised the drawbridge. Harry didn't even bother putting up a token projection of heartache because the cult members couldn't see it.
"Well it looks like the goons took the bait," Evy mused.
"Yep," Harry confirmed.
Ardeth was confused by the behavior he was seeing. Their son had just been taken. Unless…
"Imhotep took one of your magical constructs," Ardeth said in realization.
"Right you are," Alex said as he teleported onto the bridge behind the bus.
"So would you two give us a moment for a family meeting," Harry said to Ardeth and Jonathan.
"I am family," Jonathan pointed out.
"Go amuse yourself before I do something you won't enjoy," Harry replied.
"Sure," Jonathan immediately agreed.
When the two men had walked a ways away Harry turned back to his wife and son. They were looking at him curiously, never having seen him so nervous.
"What is it Rick?" Evy asked.
"I'm a god," Harry said.
Alex and his mother stared at Harry with their expressions not changing.
"Rick…I know you are good in bed…bloody fantastic really…but that doesn't make you a god," Evy said.
"No. I'm really a god," Harry assured before deciding to just go ahead and release the knowledge needed to make her believe him over their bond.
Evy gasped as their bond was no longer suppressed. She knew everything about his existence…including that he had been keepking the existence of over a hundred wives from her for years. Evy couldn't think past the sudden rage. Her fist lashed out and smashed into Harry's jaw. Evy was so pissed she didn't know her own strength. When Harry had released the bond to her he had also released her full powers to her with no limits. She hit with the strength greater than a Kryptonian could bring to bare. Therefore when she punched the unprepared Harry he went flying into one of the towers of the bridge, utterly destroying the tower. If he hadn't stopped himself Harry would have kept on going. Instead he halted himself and caught the crumbling tower in a telekinetic grip.
The tower glowed as Harry magically repaired it and touched back down on the bridge. Evy's anger had faded and she was very white in the face as she looked at her own fist. Intellectually her strength was being quantified for her by the computer systems she now had at her disposal. She realized if her husband had been a mortal man she would have just killed him in her anger.
"Mum…how did you do that?" Alex asked as he stared at his parents in awe.
"Your mum is a goddess of one kind now Alex. Or rather she has the powers of a goddess," Harry answered. "She's got a lot more power."
"Dad…if you are a god…and mum is a goddess kind in her own right…what does that make me?" Alex asked.
"Well when you grow up you will have the powers to match any god in this universe and probably a bunch of other types of deities. I can explain it to you later son," Harry assured while eying his wife warily.
Evy caught onto her husband's look and said, "I need a bit by myself to process this."
"I will see about arranging transport to Karnak while you take all the time you need," Harry assured. "Come on Alex. Let's give your mum some space."
Evy wasn't sure where she wanted to go but then a thought came to her. She vanished and not just from sight but from her native universe. Moments later Evy reappeared between her son and husband. She was dressed in a completely different outfit and she was smiling. She wrapped her arms around both Alex and Harry and hugged them tightly.
"Mum…aren't you going to go think?" Alex asked after Evy released him.
"Oh I did honey. I've been gone for weeks from my perspective. I have been all over the multiverse," Evy explained. "I've been time traveling."
"Wicked," Alex said with a sudden grin. "Dad…can I go time traveling?"
"Not unsupervised. You need to be traveling with your mum or I for now," Harry answered. "Are you…alright?" He asked his wife uncertainly.
"Never better. I talked to some of your other wives and they helped put a lot of things in perspective for me. I understand what you are doing now. It just took some getting used to. We can talk more about that later. We have a mummy to toy with now," Evy suggested with a playful grin.
Harry nodded gratefully. He was relieved his wife was no longer angry with him. Evy was the first wife who he had waited so long to tell about his extra-universal nature and his many other wives. She had a right to be angry. But she wasn't thanks to his other wives.
"Let's rejoin the others," Harry suggested.
Ardeth looked weary when he rejoined the family of O'Connells.
"What the bloody hell happened to the bridge?" Jonathan asked.
"Don't worry about it Jonathan," Evy answered. "We need to head after Imhotep."
"Alright…where to now?" Ardeth questioned.
"Hermione told me that in my universe you have been sticking pretty close to the events that unfolded had you not been here. Do you want to continue doing that or chase straight after him on the magic carpets you provided?" Evy sent to her husband.
"If we do use the original events I will need an excuse why we don't use magic carpets. Hmm…what to say…magic carpet magic does not react well with the magicals wards protecting Ahm Shere," Harry mused.
"We need to arrange another form of transportation," Evy said aloud.
"Why won't our magic carpets work?" Ardeth questioned.
"They will get us to our next means of transportation but the magic of the carpets does not react well when mixed with the magical wards protecting Ahm Shere. I will lead us to an alternative means of transportation," Harry announced.
"Fair enough," Ardeth agreed.

Egypt…
Harry directed his carpet to touch down in a desolate looking outpost in front of a sign that read Magic Carpet Airways.
"How fitting," Evy mused. "We will be trading using real magic carpets for something far more mundane."
"Yes, the irony was not lost on me," Harry answered. The door opened just then to reveal Rick O'Connells old compatriot Izzy. Izzy was wearing an eye patch over one eye even though Harry could tell the eye was fine. Izzy must have just been wearing it for some strange reason. Izzy appeared startled to see Rick. "Hello Izzy."
Izzy spun and ran back through the door before locking it.
"Allow me," Evy said as she stepped forward and kicked the door open.
"Whatever has brought you here O'Connell, you can forget it. Every time you are involved in something I get shot," Izzy declared. "Last time I got shot in my ass!"
"Izzy, I can keep you from getting shot this time," Harry replied.
"And how exactly are you going to do that?" Izzy demanded.
Harry was about to ask Evy to demonstrate but she had already pulled her gun and shot him in the gut. Izzy jumped in shock. So maybe Evy was still a little sore at him. Harry had just gotten the skintight body armor onto his form even though he didn't need it. Harry opened his shirt to show the armor.
"I will give you a set of this advanced body armor. And I will pay gold," Harry suggested as he drew a gold bar out of Evy's backpack.
"Well…that changes things," Izzy said while he took the bar.
"Get ready to leave then," Harry answered.
The O'Connells plus Jonathan then went over to meet Ardeth who had just arrived from meeting with the Medjai tribal leaders. The leaders were on horseback nearby waiting with an army of Medjai prepared to battle the Army of Anubis should they arise.
"These are the commanders of the twelve tribes of Medjai. My companion Horus will carry word between them and us," Ardeth explained as he held out his hand and a falcon flew over to land on his outstretched arm.
Ardeth then bid the commanders farewell in Arabic and the commanders rode off. Harry shrunk and stored Ardeth's belongings for the Medjai and then they headed to Izzy's transport. The last time Harry had worked with Izzy, Izzy had used an airplane. Now Izzy was using a dirigible.
"Isn't she beautiful?" Izzy said.
"She's something," Harry answered. "I'm not sure I would call it aestethically pleasing."
"What she lacks in beauty she makes up for with stealth. She is great for sneaking up on people," Izzy pointed out.
"An unusual design," Harry mused as the group boarded the craft.
There were what appeared to be crude rocket thrusters which shot flame generated by compressed gas being ignited. The thrusters did help the craft go faster when necessary. It was an interesting experiencing sailing through the sky on Izzy's ship. Soon night was upon the travelers. Harry briefly heard Jonathan and Ardeth discussing the golden pyramid at Ahm Shere at one point while the god walked to the front of the boat where Evy was staring off into the distance. Alex was actually learning to fly without a broom in the darkness of night near the ship. Harry had telepathically given his son the knowledge of how to tap in and use that ability. With the nanites now flowing through Alex's body many more abilities were now open to the son of a god.
"He seems to be enjoying himself," Evy mused as she kept track of her son. Harry wrapped his arms around her from behind. "The view is beautiful," she admitted. "But you have seen much greater out in the multiverse."
"I don't know if I would qualify what is out there as greater. I have learned to appreciate the beauty that every universe has to offer," Harry answered.
They both knew Harry was speaking more about Evy than anything else in the universe.
"I do love you. I wish I hadn't gotten so mad at you," Evy admitted.
"I don't blame you. I wanted to tell you," Harry began but Evy turned and crushed her lips to his, silencing him.
As it neared morning Harry was sitting talking to Ardeth when he felt a vision coming over Evy triggered by something Imhotep was doing to Meela. Imhotep intended to kill Meela's consciousness and replace it with the consciousness of Ankh-su-namun. Harry couldn't have that. He teleported to where Meela and Imhotep were kneeling in front of a mist covered portal to the underworld at the ruins of Karnak. Harry erected a time dilation field speeding up time inside the field but excluding Imhotep. Meela looked around in surprise and saw that Imhotep did not appear to be moving. She stood and spun around. Then she spotted the man she knew as Rick O'Connell.
Meela gasped as she beheld the radiant man standing before her. He glowed with an otherworldly light and she immediately knew she was looking at a god.
"My lord," Meela cried as she collapsed to her knees and pressed her face to the ground in front of her. "How may I serve you?"

Evy gasped as the vision ended. She had been watching Imhotep and the woman known as Meela one moment and then her husband had been there. From that moment on the vision had been entirely different in nature. Harry had dominated Meela and Meela had liked it. Evy had been able to feel her husband's immense pleasure over their bond and then once he bonded Meela Evy had been able to feel Meela's ecstasy. Then Evy had felt a brief moment of silence as Meela and her husband slept under time dilation and then Imhotep's ritual was resuming. Only now Meela was completely loyal to a new man. Evy felt her husband's arms wrap around her as they both watched the vision.
Imhotep caused a vision to form in the pool depicting two masked women facing off in ancient Egypt with weapons in an ancient martial art. The two women were Nefertiti and Anck-su-Namun sparring in the court of Nefertiti's father Seti. Eventually after considerable exertion Anck-su-Namun prevailed. Nefertiti was given the task of protecting the Bracelet of Anubis by her father and Anck-su-Namun was given the task of protecting Seti as his new wife. Of course Anck-su-Namun had no say in the matter.
Through the vision Evy and Harry saw the body language and looks Anck-su-Namun and Imhotep gave each other for what they were. Then Harry and Evy witnessed the murder of the pharaoh at the hands of Imhotep and Anck-su-Namun. Anck-su-Namun killed herself in the vision and Imhotep had Meela reenacting this as part of the resurrection ritual. But the new slave of the sex god was not that easy to kill. As Imhotep called forth the essence of his deceased love Anck-su-Namun's soul flowed into Meela's body. Meela's essence absorbed that of the new arrival.
"Imhotep," Anck-su-Namun said at just the right time and in the right tone to convince Imhotep that she was Anck-su-Namun and not still Meela.
When the vision ended Harry and Evy were silent for several moments.
"Not that I am condoning what Imhotep and Anck-su-Namun did to the pharaoah but Seti didn't exactly give them too much choice. If they had run Seti's lackeys would have hunted them down. Anck-su-Namun couldn't have exactly turned Seti's plan to marry her down," Harry pointed out.
"That is true," Evy agreed, able to make that determination because while she had experienced the emotions of her past life during the vision she was now able to focus on her modern perspective since she now possessed her present memories too. "I'm not sure of a better method to achieve their goals but obviously murdering Seti didn't work out too well. So we can agree Seti was a dick. I at least think I understand Imhotep and Anck-su-Namun a little better now."
When Izzy's craft reached Karnak later in the day, Harry redirected the course. He told his companions who weren't in the know that he was magically tracking his son. All that was below was an empty train on the tracks next to the ruins.
"They are heading towards the Temple Island of Philae next," Harry announced.
When they airship reached Philae, Harry redirected Izzy to the great temple of Abu Simbel. Ardeth was having the Medjai army follow along as well through messages delivered by Horus. From Abus Simbel the airship continued on its journey which took them into a series of deep ravines which passed between several mountains with deep rivers, the Blue Nile, running through the bottom of the ravines.
"We are getting close to the oasis. The magic in the air is growing thicker. And Imhotep is close too," Harry announced.
"At least Imhotep isn't familiar with this region. In ancient times all of this region still belonged to the upper kingdom," Evy pointed out.
Before anyone could respond the nearby cliffs started rattling.
"Well damn…Imhotep has gotten stronger. To move all of that water takes some serious telekinetic chops," Harry mused.
"All of what water?" Jonathan asked.
"That water," Izzy shouted in a terrified tone as a wall of water sweapt through the ravine behind the airship.
Imhotep's face took on shape in the front of the wall of water. Izzy activated thrust feature of his airship and jets of flame shot out of the back propelling the airship forward at tremendous speed. Harry walked to the back of the ship and focused, more for effect than any need to focus. Harry thrust out with his hands a giant sphere of force smashed into the water face of Imhotep. The face lost shape for several moments and the wall of water slowed down. But then Imhotep refocused and pushed the water forward. Harry telekinetically smashed into the mountainside and knocked half the stone mountain onto Imhotep's watery form. The mummy's water conjuration disappeared for over half a minute. Izzy shut down the rocket thrust. The airship came towards the end of the ravine to see the oasis of Ahm Shere spread out before them.
"I think we have arrived," Ardeth said.
Just then Imhotep came back with a vegance.
"Doesn't this guy ever quit," Harry mused.
Harry lashed out with a jet of fire while holding onto the back of the airship. The jet hit Imhotep in the face and a massive cloud of steam shot out. Meanwhile the force of the firestream propelled the airship even faster than Izzy's rocket thrusters could. The airship shot out of the ravine and over the oasis.
"Well that was effective," Jonathan mused.
"Izzy, set down. There are defensive measures in place that are active until someone reaches the pyramid by foot," Harry instructed as he examined the wards in the oasis. "They will bring down anyone approaching by air."
"You don't have to tell me twice," Izzy said as he headed for the ground. "I'll just wait here until you signal me."
"Perhaps I should stay with him," Jonathan suggested, eying the jungle seperating the airship from the pyramid.
"You are with us," Evy told her brother firmly.
Meanwhile Ardeth had sent a message to the other Medjai via his falcon friend Horus. Not long after the bird had taken off a shot rang out.
"Horus," Ardeth called in horror. Harry watched the bird fall and summoned it. The injured animal was near death and floated into Harry's hand. Ardeth ran over and examined his friend. "Can you help him?"
"Yes," Harry confirmed as his hand began to glow white and the animal's torn flesh began to knit itself back together. It took several painful looking and sounding bone breaks resetting themselves but within three minutes Horus was healed. Ardeth accepted the falcon gently. "He should rest here," Harry informed Ardeth.
"But it isn't safe in this place. We don't know what dangers lurk waiting to pounce," Ardeth pointed out. "And I must get a message to my fellow Medjai."
"Good point," Harry mused before he conjured a small flying carpet. "Set Horus on that and I will teleport him a short distance away. The carpet will take him the rest of the way after he is out of Lock-Nah's sight."
"So it was Lock-Nah who shot Horus?" Ardeth questioned while setting the bird on the carpet.
"Yes," Harry answered as he turned the carpet into a short distance portkey.
The bird and carpet disappeared a moment later.
"Thank you my friend," Ardeth told Harry. "We should move. We have much ground to cover."
"Agreed," Evy replied while her husband nodded.
Harry, Ardeth, Evy, Jonathan, and Alex tracked Imhotep's party. Alex was invisible and was flying a short distance above his parents. Only the party below could see Alex while Imhotep's group could not.
"Imhotep's group is about to be greatly thinned," Harry mused as he and his companions crouched on a ledge within sight of a section of jungle Imhotep's group was slowly approaching.
"How so?" Jonathan asked.
"Pygmies…or rather pygmy mummies," Evy answered.
"Should we aid the pygmies in their efforts?" Ardeth questioned.
"No need," Harry answered. "You and Lock-Nah seem to have a rivalry going on. If you would like I could teleport him up here and you two could have a go at each other."
"No, if Lock-Nah is strong enough to make it to the pyramid I shall face him there," Ardeth answered. "Then I shall join my bretheren at the battlefield where they may face the army of Anubis using my carpet. I do not think you really need me to deal with the Scorpion King or Imhotep."
Ardeth was amused. He had long suspected his friend was a god. It appeared as if the other O'Connells now knew it. Jonathan appeared to be the only one who had yet to realize his brother-in-law's divine nature.
"No, we will be fine. But I would prefer it if your people do not perish fighting Anubis' army should it arise," Harry mused. "Let me see your sword." Ardeth removed his blade and handed it to Harry. Harry held the blade and channeled magic into it. The blade transitioned through a mixture of glowing colors before it appeared normal again. He handed it back to Ardeth. "Your blade now has the power to imbue the clothing your men wear to be temporarily indestructable, at least as far as the powers on this planet are concerned. Just wish their clothing to be enchanted as you touch the blade to each man's clothing. The clothing will briefly glow blue to signal it has worked."
"Thank you again, my friend," Ardeth replied, knowing he was being given a great gift.
Harry and his companions watched as Imhotep's party paused. Lock-Nah ordered his men to fan out and search with torches for whatever was hunting them. The cultists could all sense the threat but didn't know what was lurking in the dark. Imhotep sensed what the threat was a minute or two before the attack while comforting Meela that the pygmy-mummies could not harm him. Tall plan life surrounded the cultists so the mortal men had no hope of seeing the tiny pygmy-mummies. The tiny pygmy-mummies were fast and silent. They were also small and agile. Their weaponry ranged from poisonous blow guns, sharpened bone daggers, tiny bows with arrows, to tiny spears.
When the first screams and shots began to ring through the jungle of Ahm Shere the only cultists that had any hope were the ones that ran the fastest towards the pyramid while their bretheren served as a distraction and died. The only two cultists like this were Lock-Nah and his master Hafez. Meanwhile Imhotep sent out his power and scared the pygmy-mummies, lesser spirits, away. Harry and his party skirted around the pygmy infested jungle but still encountered a few which Harry easily dispatched. Golem-Alex had run from the cultists the moment the killing started and easily caught up with his creator. Alex banished his golem back to storage and inactivity while touching down on the ground and walking with his parents. He became visible once more to all.
"Dad, how do the pygmy-mummies use those blow guns if they are decayed and their lungs are shriveled up?" Alex asked.
"It's one of those quirks of magic," Harry answered. "The magic that animates them allows them to move air in small bursts if they concentrate on it like they would be able to do if they had working lungs."
"Odd," Alex mused.
"Indeed," Evy agreed with her son.
The group arrived at the base of the pyramid just before sunrise. Harry made them unnoticeable to Imhotep's remaining party with the exception of Meela. The bracelet of Anubis popped off of Alexis' wrist as the bracelet interacted with the wards on the pyramid.
"Stay quiet," Harry warned Jonathan and Ardeth as Imhotep and Meela showed up out of the jungle and walked towards the base of the pyramid.
Harry let them pass unchallenged and gestured for Meela to follow Imhotep. She did as instructed. Harry waited until Lock-Nah and Hafez showed up before he made his group noticeable again. Lock-Nah and Hafez drew to a stop when they spotted the very dangerous O'Connells.
"Can I?" Evy asked her husband.
"Sure," Harry answered while handing the bracelet to his wife.
"You," Evy said while pointing to Hafez. "Take this and go in," she added while tossing the bracelet to Hafez. "You," she said while pointing to Lock-Nah. "Will face Ardeth in combat to the death."
Hafez fumbled but caught the bracelet. Lock-Nah sneered at Ardeth and drew his blade. Harry left the scene in his wife's capable hands as he entered the pyramid. Hafez had fled inside moments before with the bracelet. Harry had no doubt Ardeth would prevail but if Lock-Nah did by some miracle threaten Ardeth's life in a serious way then Evy would heal Ardeth or if she couldn't put the Medjai in a stasis state until her husband had the time to restore Ardeth. She would also take care of Lock-Nah. The murdering scum had tried to kidnap and kill her son. If Evy was a more vindictive person she would use her new power to torture Lock-Nah. But she wasn't like that.
Harry saw the pyramid come alive with color and light as the wards became active. Hafez had done exactly what Harry knew the man would and put the bracelet of Anubis on before inserting it into the statue next to a mural depicting just that act. The Army of Anubis began to awaken. Lock-Nah was dead and even now Ardeth was with his people enchanting their clothing into an armor-like state. Harry entered the ward control chamber to see Hafez struggling to pull the arm wearing the bracelet out of the scorpion statue.
"You're too late O'Connell," Hafez gloated. "The Army of Anubis is rising and Lord Imhotep is about to take command."
"Didn't you ever learn not to stick your arm places you can't see?" Harry asked. "In several moments all the flesh and muscle down to your bone will be stripped off from the bracelet down as the bracelet is taken with it." Terror filled Hafez as the implications soaked through his mind. "That is your punishment for the evil you have done. Killing you would be a mercy though without treatment in the middle of the desert you will die anyway, slowly."
Harry summoned the Infinity blade into his hand as the statue's magic did just as Harry had described. He pressed on. His connection to Meela was telling him that Imhotep had been stripped of the powers granted by the Homdei but was still planning on facing the Scorpion King. Imhotep thought he was hot stuff despite the fact he wasn't much stronger than a mortal now. Harry wasn't sure if Anubis was actually paying attention to what was going on but doubted the god would interfere. If the Ascended-Anubis was paying attention it would not be healthy for him to interfere in Harry's business.
Harry swiftly reached the chamber where Imhotep intended to face the Scorpion King and found Imhotep beating on a gong to summon the Scorpion King. As Harry cast out his senses he analyzed the being known as the Scorpion King. The Scorpion King had once been a man known as Mathayus. Mathayus had once been a great man, one of the last Arcadians, until the love of Mathayus' life had been inflicted with poison by an enemy kingdom. This love of Mathayus was a powerful seer known as the sorceress by most and to Mathayus as Cassandra. The antidote to that poison only existed in the enemy kingdom. The poison was slowed by Cassandra's magic but was still effective. Mathayus had waged a war to retrieve the antidote but had failed. Anubis had claimed Mathayus' soul in exchange for finally achieving vengeance on the enemy kingdom. History was not exactly accurate when it came to the Scorpion King. Now, the Scorpion King was rather angry at the world and not unexpectedly so.
Harry also observed the tear in the floor of the chamber which was a portal directly into the Egyptian underworld of this universe. Countless damned souls could be observed lining the walls of the crevice. A huge roar sounded throughout the chamber which actually shook the chamber. Harry watched invisibly as Imhotep began to lose what little fortitude the mummy still had left. Imhotep picked up a bladed weapon and faced the doors at the end of the chamber. Harry wasn't sure if Imhotep would face the Scorpion King or flee. When the doors opened they revealed a giant of a figure in the shape of a scorpion with a human torso and face.
The Scorpion King smirked at Imhotep and snapped the pincers in place of his hands at the mummy. Imhotep lost his nerve at the sight, turned, and started to run. When he realized the Scorpion King was bearing down on him he stopped and knelt down.
"I am your servant," Imhotep said in the ancient tongue. "But another comes to kill you."
"We shall see," the Scorpion King replied, not fearing Imhotep.
Harry had had enough at this point. He became visible. The Scorpion King immediately focused on the apparent new arrival.
"Mathayus," Harry said, giving the Scorpion King pause. "Anubis has twisted you."
Harry gestured towards the tear to the underworld and summoned Mathayus' soul. The soul came howling out of the pit and Harry hurled it back into the Scorpion King. Mathayus screamed in pain but immediately began to transform. It was rather painful to watch but the Scorpion King swiftly transformed back into Mathayus. Harry at the same time wrested control of the Army of Anubis from Mathayus and caused the army to disintegrate. Harry stuck Imhotep against a nearby column with a sticking charm to watch the events unfold. As Mathayus returned fully to human form, he looked at his benefactor.
"Thank you," Mathayus said. "Why have you done this? Why have you defied the great god Anubis? How have you done this?"
"I am a powerful god myself. I like who you used to be before the death of Cassandra," Harry answered. "I am going to send you back to a time before Cassandra died. Give her this," he said while handing Mathayus a vial filled with a potion. "It will cure her and make her immortal. Take this vial yourself so that you too will become immortal. When seventy years have elapsed turn your throne over to your offspring and return to Ahm Shere. You shall rule here."
"Thank you, my Lord…," Mathayus answered.
"Harry," Harry supplied.
"My lord Harry," Mathayus replied. "I will abide by your will."
With that Mathayus was gone, sent back to the past. Harry turned to Imhotep.
"Imhotep, I could almost admire you in some ways if your thirst for power hasn't corrupted you so completely," Harry mused as he floated Meela over the tear to the underworld.
Meela walked up to Harry and embraced him before kissing him. Harry returned the kiss momentarily before Meela turned and faced Imhotep.
"Anck-su-Namun," Imhotep raged.
"She is in here but I, Meela, am still the owner of my body. You will not take it from me. My body is for my master Harry," Meela declared before kneeling before Harry.
Harry had the amusing mental image of having Meela orally service him right there and then in front of Imhotep just to piss the mummy off but then decided against it. Before he could tell Meela to rise, Harry felt Evy take control of Meela. Evy had the kneeling woman do just what her husband had been thinking. Evy walked into the room followed by Cassandra and Mathayus just as her husband was finishing up. Evy floated the three of them over the tear and walked up to her husband.
"How long have you sensed them?" Evy asked as she gestured towards a happy looking Mathayus and Cassandra.
"Since we got here," Harry replied.
"My abilities told me to stay out of your way until this moment," Cassandra added in English, no stranger to the workings of time travel and seeing into the future.
"How have you been since you were reunited?" Harry asked.
"Quite well thanks to you," Mathayus assured. "What do you intend to do with him?"
"I honestly haven't decided yet. Killing him seems prudent but it is unnecessary. Hmm…I know. Meela, Imhotep is to be your new slave. You will order him around and he will do your bidding. He is not a sex slave though," Harry directed.
"Hmm…a slave with a slave," Evy said. "Amusing and it is an appropriate end for Imhotep."
"My Lord, we would like to show you the small community we have grown in part of the oasis. It's quite a walk from here. We came via horseback," Mathayus suggested.
"Let's wait for my friend Ardeth and then we will all take a tour together. And you can address me as Harry," Harry directed.
"Cool, a tour of Ahm Shere," Alex said excitedly.
"Jonathan, watch Alex while we wait for Ardeth," Evy instructed her brother after the group had transitioned back to the entrance of the chamber. "Rick and I have some business to take care of with Meela. And for goodness sake keep him away from the tear to the Underworld. I don't want to be chasing after him down there."
"Yes, Evy," Jonathan replied.
"We will keep him out of trouble," Cassandra added.
"Thanks," Evy said while flashing Cassandra a grin.
Evy pulled her husband and their sex slave in one particular direction. They soon found a well lit chamber. Evy conjured a comfortable chair and sat her husband down. His back was fairly straight and the back of his knees were against the edge of the chair. She vanished his pants and boxer briefs.

Author's Note 2:
While the response for the contest I mentioned in the last chapter (It was almost exactly half) that was still plenty of a response to win the contest. I want to thank all of those who responded. You are the reason this second part of the Mummy verse has been posted so soon.
Check out the fic Nobody Told Me the Rules by Zaxaramas. It's a pretty addicting read and one of the best self-inserts I have ever read.
