2371, Stardate 48315.6, Federation Penal Colony

Harry Potter reflected upon his life as he worked on the environmental control system for the penal colony he was currently residing in. Harry had grown up abused and hated with his only remaining family until he had started at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry at the age of eleven. Those years at the historically rich school of magic were some of the worst and best of the Potter warlock's considerably long life. It was at Hogwarts where Harry Potter's life was constantly threatened. But it was also while attending Hogwarts when the talented magician met some of the greatest loves of his existence including Hermione Granger, Fleur Delacour, and Nymphadora Tonks.

It was at the end of the warrior wizard's education at Hogwarts when he came up against Tom Riddle A.K.A. Lord Voldemort in a duel to the death that rocked the magical world to its foundations. The two sorcerers wielded magic in a way that hadn't been observed since the time of Merlin. In the end Harry Potter had triumphed. It was only later that the changes began to take place. As a result of the green eyed mage's status as a former living Horcrux and the soul magic residue such a position entailed, Harry gained certain parts of Riddle's essence, namely Tom Riddle's magic and memories. Now before their duel both Tom and Harry were equivalent in power to each other and equal in power to the vaunted Merlin.

After his victory Harry was considered the most powerful magic user to ever exist and likely would ever exist. Gradually new abilities began to emerge as he aged. Harry soon learned that he no longer required a wand to wield magic. He could shift his form as easily as any metamorphmagus, easier even. The handsome man also began to exhibit a powerful allure to the opposite sex equal to any veela's charm. Indeed after the battle it seemed the most powerful magic user could duplicate any abilities he was around for any lengthy period of time. Fleur Delacour and Nymphadora Tonks had worked closely with the man who most of the magical world considered the new leader of the light after Albus Dumbledore passed on in order to round up the remaining Death Eaters after their master's downfall. Bill Weasley and Remus Lupin, Fleur and Tonks' former beaus, had both given their lives in the last battle against Riddle. Both women were good friends of Harry's so it was only natural for the skilled warrior to provide comfort. None foresaw that the green eyed mage would pick up the two beauties' special abilities.

There were differences between the abilities the two witches were born with and what Harry was displaying. Fleur could control her veela allure after she had gone through extensive training. With Harry's power it was discovered he could only blunt the effect for a time using his will alone before the power broke free and wreaked chaos on the desires of any female around him. It was still amusing to the 391 year old man the circumstances that had led to him learning how to semi-control his sexual draw on women.

Harry had sequestered himself alone with Hermione, Fleur, and Nym being the only females allowed to see him as it became apparent all other women were on the verge of attacking him and tearing off his clothes. As it turned out the three beauties' apparent control around their handsome friend was all a façade that fell away the moment the green eyed mage had gone a week without some kind of sexual gratification (a week after the last battle). The trio of women virtually raped the bewildered wizard for two days straight until they finally managed to exhaust his seemingly endless stamina. The Potter heir certainly never complained about their actions. It was discovered through experimentation that the greatest sorcerer needed to have sex at least once a week or his allure would grow out of control again. Self gratification just wouldn't cut it. From that moment on the three witches closest to Harry Potter took it upon themselves to make sure his needs were taken care of, all of his needs.

The three witches never let Harry's allure build up to those levels again. Never a day went by that the warlock went without the company of one or more of his partners in an intimate setting. As time progressed the full difference of one of Harry's other abilities became readily apparent. Whenever a normal metamorphmagus such as Nym shifted form whatever changes she made were mostly just on the surface. The bubbly witch could change size to a limited degree but such drastic changes would fade if she went to sleep or lost consciousness. This was not the case with Harry. Whatever form the shape shifting wizard turned into he truly became. Increases in muscle size corresponded with an increase in strength.

Changes in age actually translated to Harry Potter's body becoming younger or older. This meant the skilled wizard could become any age he desired. The intelligent group of mates realized this effect was due to Harry's greater power. There had never been a metamorphmagus or veela with the power levels the handsome wizard possessed. It also became evident that the three women were aging slower than witches normally aged as well, although they were still aging. The highly intelligent Hermione figured out that when the three women drained away some of their man's sexual allure they were also gaining some of his plentiful energy which was healing their bodies somewhat from the effects of aging.

Harry got to experience over two hundred years with his three chosen mates but the ravages of time finally took them. That was how Harry Potter learned to hate getting old and dying. The sorcerer from then on always stayed in the form of a late twenty year old. This age showed maturity but still kept the vitality of youth present on the warlock's appearance. The immortal wizard turned his focus on protecting his family after the death of his most treasured females. The world had changed drastically in the time since the eldest Potter had attended Hogwarts. The mundanes were progressing rapidly. World War III broke out and turned deadly fast. The resourceful magician that was the defeater of Voldemort was most concerned for his children and descendants.

One of the nearby moons of Jupiter provided a refuge for the Potter family. Ananke was one of sixty-three satellites orbiting the gas giant big enough to be called moons. The body had a diameter of about twenty kilometers with an orbital period of 631 days. The powerful sorcerer terraformed Ananke with the help of his family and made it into a home hidden away from the population of Earth. The best wards ever created and some newly crafted enchantments were placed upon the body dubbed Potter's Moon. The power of the entire Potter family backed up these enchantments which made the moon invisible to all forms of detection.

After he was sure that his family was secure Harry went back to Earth to try to save what was left of the wizarding world. There wasn't any sign of any magical humans to be found. The warlock located quite a few magical plants and animals which he took to his moon so that these species might recover. It was about this time that the Vulcans made their existence known after one mundane man broke the Warp barrier. It was a crazy time for all as Earth slowly recovered from the third world war. It was during this time period that the skilled shape-shifter began infiltrating human and alien intelligence agencies to gather technological information. The eldest Potter sent this information back to his family where it was analyzed and learned from. Colleges had been established to study all the major branches of magic. The same system was set up to study all the branches of mundane science.

Harry kept himself busy so as to not dwell on the passing of the three best witches he had ever known. It wasn't difficult to pick up the occasional woman given the sorcerer's allure and looks. This process kept his allure in check for some time but eventually the green eyed wizard grew tired of one night stands. Harry's identity at the time was of a young engineer named Charles 'Trip' Tucker III. Squibs born on Potter's moon tended to go to Earth to help the family while bringing fresh blood into the bloodlines. Usually when they reached a certain age these squib descendants would return to Potter's Moon for retirement. It was easy to use one of these descendants' families as a cover for Trip.

As Trip, Harry worked on the NX Warp program which eventually led him to a berth onboard Earth's first Warp five starship. The experienced warrior had many adventures on the starship Enterprise and gained many exotic mates on his travels. A gorgeous Vulcan named T'Pol, a monarch to be of the Krios Empire named Kaitaama, a communications officer of Asian descent named Hoshi Sato, and a MACO named Amanda Cole all became mates of the most powerful wizard in existence with time. Being non-magical meant it took more women to drain off the sorcerer's allure. At the same time the lack of magic of their own also meant these women didn't gain as much of a life extension as the three witches had.

Harry was currently grieving the loss of the last of his second batch of mates T'Pol. Much of the Potter's Moon intelligence community was bolstered by the college of seers. These seers had come a long way from the frauds like Sybil Trelawney. These seers could see a short time into the future and in certain rare cases focus their sight even further. One of the most powerful seers informed Harry that if he was on a certain penal colony on a certain stardate portraying one of his wayward descendants that he would be offered a job of sorts. If the green eyed wizard then accepted that job and went on a long journey with his new employer he would find everything he had been searching for in life for the past several centuries.

Now since this particular seer was also the young genius who had discovered a way to peer far into the past with her sight Harry took her very seriously. This ability to look into the distant past had paid great dividends for Harry Potter. Using this technique the resourceful magician and his sight gifted descendant had observed Nicholas Flamel making his original Philosopher's Stone and Elixir of Life. Population control laws were put in place before the elixir was distributed to the public. Each one of Harry's several hundred thousand descendants would have to choose personally between having children and immortality.

The prophesized wayward descendant happened to be Tom Paris. Tom had gotten himself into much trouble in his young life. The former member of the Federation of Planets was the son of a squib. Like all second generation squibs that had never set foot on Potter's Moon, Tom normally wouldn't have been told about his extended family and the existence of magic until he was deemed mentally sound enough for the revelation to be considered safe. Tom was currently being introduced to the magical moon where he would be educated on how to really live as a man.

Harry's musings ended when he sensed the approach of another participant in the prophecy.

"Tom Paris," a voice called the warlock's attention from up above where he was crouched working. "Kathryn Janeway," the attractive woman in a Starfleet uniform introduced herself when the wizard stood. "I served with your father on the Albitani. I wonder if we can go somewhere and talk."

"I suppose that would be agreeable. What are we going to be talking about?" Harry questioned as he walked around the console he was working on.

"We will be discussing a job the Federation would like you to do for us," Janeway replied as she led the shape-shifter down a nearby path. "I've been told the rehabilitation board is very pleased with your work."

"Well I realize I have made a great many mistakes in my past. I am hoping to do something better with my life once I get out of here," explained the oldest magician in existence.

"I'm glad to hear that Tom," Janeway replied, impressed with the attitude of the handsome man. "I am leaving on a mission to locate a Maquis ship that disappeared in the Badlands about a week ago."

"Either you are very ignorant or you command a starship more maneuverable than any I have ever come across. The plasma storms in that region are violent and difficult to get through with some of the more maneuverable smaller craft I have piloted. By the impressive presentation you make I won't insult you by suspecting you of ignorance," the charming wizard put forth.

"Thank you Tom," Janeway said while managing to suppress a blush. There was something about this handsome young prisoner that set the captain's womanly parts atingle with desire. There was also an intelligence and wisdom in his eyes that Kathryn wouldn't have suspected from Mr. Paris' reputation. "We would like you to join our mission."

"You mean you would like me to lead you to the Maquis, my former co-criminals. Don't mistake me for a fool Captain just because I am in this place," was the skilled sorcerer's prompt response.

"Forgive me. I didn't mean to slight you in such a way. You know that territory better than anyone we have. My Chief of Security was onboard this ship undercover. He has missed two scheduled check-ins in the last six days. You might also be interested to know that ship was under the command of a former Starfleet officer I believe you knew, Chakotay," pointed out the red haired captain.

"We knew each other. In my past I might have fought for any person willing to pick up my bar bills. Chakotay didn't like that attitude given the principals he adheres to. Now that I'm no longer given to drinking binges I must admit a small amount of admiration for Chakotay. He is fighting to defend his home colony from Cardassian attack. Despite what the Federation's position is on the matter there is a real threat to the outlying colonies posed by the Cardassians. But that is not the purpose of this discussion. I can see you care a great deal about your head of security. I'll help you to help him Captain," the mage informed the attractive officer.

"You will be glad you assisted when the time comes for your next review," Janeway promised.

Harry soon found himself being flown to the starship Voyager onboard a shuttlecraft by the attractive betazoid Lieutenant Stadi. Throughout the flight the alluring immortal learned much about the skilled pilot and he could easily tell she had enjoyed the conversation by the time they stepped onboard the space dock to which Voyager was attached.

The eldest Potter walked into the pub onboard the space dock in time to rescue a young ensign from a rather tricky Ferengi trying to conn the young Asian.

"Lay off him," Harry warned the large-eared alien. "You can find those on any planet in the system and acquire them in shops for one Cardassian ley. Come on," the sorcerer directed at the relieved ensign.

"Thanks," Ensign Harry Kim gratefully spoke as he followed the wizard from the room.

"Don't mention it. You can never be too careful around Ferengi," the mage declared, recalling his first meeting with the disagreeable species onboard Enterprise.

Voyager Medical Bay…

"Can I help you?" Doctor McCarthy, Voyager's physician, questioned Harry as the warlock and Mr. Kim walked in.

"Tom Paris reporting onboard," was the wizard's response.

"Oh yes, the observer…," Dr. McCarthy trailed off with obvious dislike in his tone.

"I sense dislike from you, doctor," the mage called the man out.

"I was a surgeon on Coloc Prime when you were stationed there although we never met. Your medical records have arrived. Everything seems to be in order. The captain asked if you were onboard. You should check in with her," Dr. McCarthy suggested while getting right in Harry's face.

The wizard grinned as he stared intently into the confrontational physician's eyes. Fear began to pervade the mundane's mind as a sense of impending death gripped his consciousness. The eyes the doctor was staring into held a wealth of pain and suffering. The non-magical man turned away and coughed.

"Well everything is in order," Dr. McCarthy announced.

"What was that?" Harry Kim questioned a few moments later as he followed the mage out of the medical bay.

"That was a conceited physician learning of the existence of his betters," the Potter male replied.

"Gentlemen, welcome onboard Voyager," Kathryn told the two males as they presented themselves in her ready room.

"Thank you ma'am," the telepath spoke up first before Harry Kim could.

The mage could sense that Kim would have called Janeway Sir, a sexist address towards a woman in such modern times.

"Captain is how I prefer being addressed," Janeway corrected, while somewhere inside the red haired woman actually desired to be addressed as Kathryn by the handsome Mr. Paris. "We're leaving soon. Let me show you the bridge. Did you experience any problems getting here Mr. Paris?"

"None whatsoever, Captain. Thank you for asking," the courteous Brit answered.

"My first officer Lt. Commander Cavit," Janeway began introductions. "Ensign Kim and Mr. Paris," the redhead finished while gesturing to each man in turn.

"Welcome onboard," Cavit greeted Harry Kim with a handshake before reluctantly doing the same for the convict among the group.

"Ensign Kim, this is your station," Janeway indicated an empty area of the bridge.

With a nod from Janeway, Cavit began issuing commands to take Voyager out of space dock.

"Engage," Kathryn commanded as she took her captain's chair.

After acquiring food from the replicator in the commissary the handsome warlock joined Ensign Kim where it was obvious the recently departed Dr. McCarthy had informed the wizard's friend of Tom Paris' record.

"It's obvious what you and the doctor were discussing," Potter mused as he sat down.

"Is it true?" Kim questioned.

"Yes, I clumsily caused an accident that claimed the life of several men. Yes, I falsified reports to hide that fact but then came forward later. After I was discharged from Starfleet I joined up with the Maquis. I didn't stay there for long because I was quickly caught and ended up in the penal colony the Captain found me in. I am not proud of my past but I'm working to move on," Harry explained while he ate.

"It must have been especially difficult on you to be the son of an admiral and have all that happen," Kim pointed out.

"The situation was tougher on my father's reputation yes, but I deal," Potter announced as he stood. "I know you have been warned by certain members of this crew to stay clear from me. Whether you do that or not is up to you. Either way I will deal."

"I don't need anyone to tell me who to be friends with," Kim declared firmly.

At that moment the warlock's communicator beeped and the Captain's voice came through as, "Janeway to Paris."

"Go ahead Captain," Potter replied.

"Report to the bridge…We are approaching the Badlands," the attractive redhead's order came through.

The two Harrys quickly left towards the bridge.

OP – Star Trek Voyager – OP – Star Trek Voyager – OP – Star Trek Voyager – OP

"The Cardassians gave us the last known heading of the Maquis ship," Janeway explained as Harry joined her, Cavat, and a navigations officer. "We also have charts of the plasma storm activity the day the vessel disappeared. With a little help we might be able to approximate its course."

"If I had to guess I would say they were heading towards an M class planet in the Terakoph belt," Harry explained while pointing the star system out on the map.

"The plasma storms would have herded them in this direction," the navigations officer announced while indicating a trajectory on the nav console.

"Adjust our course to match," Kathryn ordered. "The Cardassians claim they forced the Maquis ship into a plasma storm where the vessel was destroyed. Our probes have not detected any wreckage or a resonance trace from the warp core."

"Captain I am reading a coherent tetryon beam scanning us," Ensign Kim announced.

"Origin Mr. Kim," Janeway prompted.

"I can't tell. But there is also a displacement wave heading towards us," Kim replied while putting the view up on the main view screen. "It's some kind of polarized magnetic variation."

"We might be able to disperse it with a graviton particle field," Cavat suggested even as Harry sensed such a trick wouldn't work.

The bridge was tense as the ship tried to evade the approaching wave.

"The graviton field had no effect," Kim declared.

"Full impulse," Janeway ordered.

"The wave will intercept us in twelve seconds," Ensign Kim announced.

"Can we go to Warp?" Janeway questioned.

"Not until we clear the plasma field's disturbances, Captain," Stadi replied.

"Brace for impact," Janeway ordered as Kim counted down.

The wave impacted the ship, overwhelming the inertial dampeners quite a bit. The powerful mage sat down on the floor of the bridge and concentrated on maintaining consciousness while his personal shield, a device crafted as a combination of science and magic, protected him from any flying debris. Before the others regained consciousness the sorcerer stood up and walked over to where the gorgeous betazoid pilot was pinned partway under some debris.

It was obvious that Stadi was dead. The warlock's eyes flashed green as he activated his mage sight. The woman's soul hadn't yet left her body. The soul lingered slightly in the physical form after death, trying to cling to its previous existence.

The powerful wizard's hand began to glow dark blue as he reached down and touched the pilot's essence. The woman's soul and consciousness flowed around the mage's hand and clung to the strong embrace of the magic. Harry brought his hand up and stuck it into his right pocket while summoning the gateway forth that led into his expanded dimension trunk. A runic container flew into the warrior magician's hand at its creator's call. The soul flowed into the container before the device returned to its proper place.

Next Harry crouched down and ran both of his now glowing hands over Stadi's form. The atomic level scanning spell allowed the warlock to transfigure a piece of debris into a perfect copy of the corpse. With a point of his finger and a flash of blue Stadi's uniform was turned into a portkey. The body vanished into the magical trunk where a stasis field surrounded her. With a quick use of his long ago refined telekinetic abilities the replica was in place of the original body.

"Report," Janeway's voice rang out just as the sorcerer finished his task.

Janeway like everyone else on the bridge except Harry had been unconscious until a few moments ago.

"Hull breach on deck fourteen," Ensign Kim began with before listing a series of bad pieces of news.

"Repair crews to deck fourteen and seal it off," Kathryn barked out.

"Casualty reports coming in but the doctor is not responding," another officer announced.

"Bridge to sickbay, doctor can you hear me?" Janeway prompted over the com. "Paris how is Stadi?"

"She is dead Captain," Harry grimly answered.

"Captain there is something out there," Kim declared.

"I need a better description than that Mr. Kim," Janeway told the Ensign.

Kim brought the space in front of Voyager onto the view screen. A space station of some sort with spires running around the circumference of the cylinder section like the spokes on a bicycle was firing some type of energy bursts out of the bottom towards the fifth planet in the system.

"Captain if these sensors are working we are over 70,000 light years from where we were," Kim announced. "We're on the other side of the galaxy from Earth. I am also not reading any life signs on the Maquis ship adrift nearby."

"What about on that array?" Kathryn queried.

"Our sensors can't penetrate it," Kim answered. "Those pulses are massive bursts of radiant energy directed at a nearby G type star system."

"Try hailing the array," Kathryn ordered.

"Engineering to bridge. The chief is dead and we have severe damage. There's a possibility of a warp core breech," an engineer reported.

"Secure all engineering systems. I'm on my way," Kathryn announced.

"No response from the array," Kim informed Janeway as she neared the turbo lift entrance.

"Ensign get down to sickbay and see what is going on," Kathryn commanded as she left.

Harry decided to go with his Asian friend to see what help he could provide in sick bay.

The two Harrys arrived in the medical bay a few minutes later to find the doctor dead, several severely injured crewmen, and a console on fire. The pair quickly put the blaze out.

"Computer initiate emergency medical holographic program," the wizard called out, causing a balding hologram to coalesce.

"Please state the nature of the medical emergency," prompted the hologram.

"Multiple fractures and burns," Kim answered.

"Point four cc's of Trianalene," the hologram commanded.

"Our nurse and doctor are dead," Harry pointed out, causing the hologram to retrieve the medicine himself.

"How soon are replacement medical personnel expected?" The doctor inquired while injecting the patient with a hypospray.

"We are currently 70,000 light years from Earth. Replacements aren't expected but I have some medical experience," Harry announced.

"Then you can assist," The doctor declared.

Harry went to work helping injured crew members. Whenever the patient was unconscious and their life was threatened the warlock would direct a Notice-Me-Not charm around the immediate area before proceeding to heal the critical damage with his magic. A warrior mage doesn't live to be 371 without learning as much healing magic as possible. The green eyed sorcerer would rival any healer in skill with his experience.

Suddenly crew members began disappearing from the sick bay via a transporter of some sort. The perceptive wizard detected the scanner locating targets. With a mental command to one of the devices in his trunk a cloaking field extended around the mage. The sorcerer watched as Ensign Kim was transported out and followed along via apparation.

Harry arrived still cloaked to find his crewmates strapped down to beds of some sort. The invisible sorcerer watched as some type of needle like probe penetrated the chest of person after person. Walking up to an attractive woman who appeared to be half Klingon the telepath pulled back her eyelids and stared into her attractive eyes. From a quick mental scan the wizard knew the crew was in a shared mental interface. The probes weren't doing any permanent damage. Harry decided to find a computer terminal and interface with it to find out what the hell was going on. Before leaving the half Klingon Harry noticed she was only wearing a thin piece of tissue paper like material.

With one raised eyebrow of curiosity the male activated his mage sight while concentrating in a special way to mimic Mad Eye Moody's magical eye. The woman's clothes vanished to reveal one very attractive figure.

"I will definitely make sure to save you beautiful," Harry whispered mostly to himself before walking off to look for a computer interface.

It didn't take the many talented Potter much time at all to locate the computer and interface with it. The database was quite large. Luckily modern day storage technology was also quite advanced. Generally speaking the technology on Potter's Moon was anywhere from several decades to a hundred plus years ahead of the Federation depending upon a particular field. The computer systems in Harry's trunk were up to the task of downloading the database. The warlock was able to explore the station quite a bit in the three days the Voyager crew was there. Harry could sense where the single alien life form controlling the space vessel was so stayed clear of that area.

Finally the alien was done with his experiments and started transporting the captured Alpha quadrant denizens back to their vessels. Once the last Federation citizen and member of the Maquis had vanished from the long experimentation chamber, Harry transported back to his vessel. Arriving back in the medical bay the wizard quickly realized that his Asian friend wasn't in the medical bay where the man should have been.

"Computer, locate Ensign Kim," Harry called out, hoping the alien on the station had just made a mistake and relocated the ensign to the wrong part of the ship.

"Ensign Kim is not onboard," Voyager's computer announced.

"Paris to Janeway," Harry spoke while tapping his communicator and heading to the bridge.

"Go ahead," Kathryn prompted.

"Ensign Kim didn't come back with us. He might still be on the station," Harry informed the red haired captain.

"Acknowledged," Kathryn responded before cutting off the connection with Paris. "Computer how many crewmen are unaccounted for?"

"One, Ensign Harry Kim is not onboard," Voyager's computer responded.

"Hail the Maquis," Janeway ordered as Harry walked onto the bridge, having apparated into the turbo lift once he was out of sight of anybody near the medical bay. "Commander Chakotay, my name is Kathryn Janeway," Kathryn said when the Maquis vessel's bridge appeared on the view screen.

"How do you know my name?" Chakotay questioned.

"We were on a mission to find you when we were brought here by the array. One of our crewmen is missing. Was he transported back to your ship by accident?" Kathryn queried, the concern for Ensign Kim clear in her voice.

"No, a member of our crew is also missing. B'Elanna Torres is my engineer," Chakotay announced.

Chakotay was of Native American descent and wore a tattoo on part of his face. The name B'Elanna flashed through Harry's mind as he realized who she was. The attractive half Klingon who the wizard had examined naked was missing. This just wouldn't do. The warrior mage intended to get to know B'Elanna Torres better.

"Commander you and I have the same problem. I think it makes sense to try and solve it together. Don't you?" Janeway proposed.

After looking at the Vulcan male behind him Chakotay replied, "Three of us will transport to your ship."

"Watch out Captain they are armed," one bridge officer pointed out the obvious half a minute later after the Maquis party had transported onboard Voyager.

"Put down your weapons," Janeway told her crew. "You won't need those on my ship," the woman informed her guests. "It's good to have you back Mr. Tuvok," Kathryn addressed her head of security.

"I must inform you that I was assigned to infiltrate your crew sir. I am Captain Janeway's Chief of Security," the Vulcan informed Chakotay.

"Were you going to lead us into their waiting hands Vulcan?" Chakotay inquired.

"My mission was to accumulate information on Maquis activities. And then deliver you into their waiting hands, that is correct," Tuvok confirmed.

"I see you had help," Chakotay declared as he laid eyes on the eldest wizard who he thought was his old acquaintance Tom Paris.

"Oh I wasn't specifically helping them to apprehend you Chakotay. Believe it or not I respect you. I was helping my new friend Captain Janeway recover her missing officer," Harry informed Chakotay while making sure to use a non-confrontational tone.

"I find that hard to believe Paris," Chakotay rebutted.

"Look into my eyes and call me a liar," Harry suggested.

Chakotay did so and saw something he had never before observed in the wayward pilot's gaze which was resolve, honesty, and strength. Chakotay gave a single nod of agreement which prompted Tuvok to speak up.

"Based upon my initial reconnaissance Captain I am convinced we are dealing with a single entity within the array," the Vulcan suggested. "I would suggest he scanned our computers to select a comfortable holographic environment, in effect a waiting room, to pacify us prior to biometric assessment."

"That is assuming of course that was really a hologram. I have been in experiments before involving neural interfacing virtual realities. There are certain giveaways to that type of technology and I saw all the indicators while in there. But that is neither here nor there. What is important is the location of our missing people. I was discussing the nature of those radiant energy bursts with Harry Kim before he was taken. I have also had the time to ponder it while we were in the station. I believe a transporter signal could be hidden in some of those bursts. Where those bursts are heading is likely where we will find Harry and B'Elanna," Harry announced.

In truth the warrior mage had simply mentally activated another device in his trunk. This device manipulated time in such a way as to allow the traveler to travel through time up to a year. During his travels on Enterprise the warlock had encountered quite a few time travelers and even traveled through time several times. While most of the technology had not been accessible to the magician there were select scans the mage was able to make. From these scans the wizard and his people were able to craft a limited time travel system that would allow them to travel their current record of up to a year through time.

In the time span that had seemed like a moment for the others onboard Voyager Harry had jumped back in time several hours, studied the data taken from the alien station relevant to the energy bursts, and arrived back at the same time as he had left thanks to his ability to become invisible at will. The mage in fact knew B'Elanna and Harry Kim were on the fifth planet in the nearby star system in an underground city where a people called the Ocampa lived. The wizard couldn't just tell the mundane crew present of his findings. Harry had to guide his companions to where they needed to go.

"Set a course for that planet then," Janeway ordered her crew.

"I'll tell my people to do the same," Chakotay agreed.

Both Captains felt an instinct telling them to trust the judgment of Tom Paris. The subtle compulsion charm in the magician's voice might have had a little bit to do with the instinctual feeling. But the green eyed man's advice was sound.

On the way to the destination planet, Voyager and the Maquis ship encountered a small vessel in a debris field.

As soon as Voyager hailed the small ship the view screen depicted a scene of utter clutter as the alien onboard the vessel tried clearing their view screen for several moments.

"Whoever you are I found this waste zone first," the alien declared when he had brought his viewer up into sight.

"We're not interested in this debris Mister….," Janeway prompted.

"Neelix," the alien provided. After a moment's thought the male alien's demeanor changed with him stating, "Since you aren't interested in my debris well then I'm delighted to know you."

"I am Captain Kathryn Janeway of the Federation Starship Voyager," Janeway introduced herself.

"That is a very impressive title which I have no idea what all those parts mean," Neelix replied.

"How well do you know this region of space Mr. Neelix?" Kathryn inquired.

"I am famous for knowing it well. How may I be of service?" The rather unattractive alien answered.

"The array that is sending energy pulses to the fifth planet in this system took two of our crew members. Would you happen to know where those crew members have been sent on that planet?" Janeway queried, getting straight to the point.

"Yes, the Caretaker has been bringing ships here for months now. That is what the Ocampa call the being in the array. Your crew members are with the Ocampa. I would love to help you find them but there is just so much debris for me to investigate today. You would be amazed at the things of value people leave behind," Neelix explained.

"Of course we would want to compensate you for your trouble," Janeway offered, picking up on the not so subtle hints.

"You wouldn't happen to have any excess water would you?" Neelix inquired hopefully.

Harry gestured for Janeway's attention as he sensed she was about to offer Neelix all the water he wanted in exchange for the alien's help.

"One moment Neelix," Janeway told the whiskered alien as the warlock paused the communication. "What is it Mr. Paris?"

"Captain might I suggest we not let on to Mr. Neelix that our water supply is so plentiful. Having so much wealth in a region where something we have is lacking is just asking to be attacked. While I am confident we can defend ourselves why would we want to be constantly fending off assaults from pirates. Even if Mr. Neelix doesn't seem the sort he might let something slip to the wrong sort of being. I propose we offer him no more than ten gallons of water. We can set him up with quarters on the holodeck where I can program him with an old fashioned sonic shower. Until we trust him he shouldn't have any knowledge of our most advanced technology such as replicators," Harry proposed reasonably.

"I concur with Mr. Paris, Captain," Tuvok spoke up. "His logic is sound and it would be a prudent precaution given how little we know about this region of space."

"Then make it so Mr. Paris," Janeway agreed while silently marveling at the man's intelligence.

Kathryn hadn't even considered the intricacies of the situation Tom had just brought up. She had been just about to offer Neelix all the water the alien could transport.

"I shall meet him in the shuttle bay," Tuvok announced. "The transporter technology should be used sparingly as well."

Janeway negotiated Neelix's help for ten gallons of water in addition to any water that was required to trade with the locals for help. When they reached the fifth planet the crew of Voyager knew why water was so valuable. The planet was completely devoid of surface H2O and had not known rain for many centuries. The lack of water was not natural. From the Caretaker's records the green eyed mage knew that the water was lacking due to an unexpected reaction of the technology of the Caretaker's race with the atmosphere of the Ocampa's world. This was also why the Caretaker took care of the Ocampa people, providing them everything they needed to survive underground.

After Neelix had used the sonic showers to refresh himself the whiskered alien was prepared to lead a small group comprised of Voyager and Maquis crew to the Ocampa, or so he said. The telepathic mage didn't quite trust the whiskered being. From the surface thoughts of the alien alone Harry knew Neelix had ulterior motives that were contrary to what Neelix stated. It was only thanks to knowing Neelix's true intentions that kept Harry from transporting the whiskered alien into space. Instead the pilot was charged with safely taking the group down to the surface in one of Voyager's small shuttle craft.

Harry was soon setting the craft down on the dry sandy ground at the edges of the ruins of an old city.

"Miners," Harry casually remarked as the Voyager group left their shuttle and approached a collection of aliens that resembled Klingons with less pronounced brow ridges.

"Yes, these are the Kazon, Ogla sect. They mine a valuable mineral here. They currently have in their possession the only Ocampa that isn't concealed in the underground city and therefore your best chance of getting down there," Neelix explained to his companions before they reached the group of Kazon. "My friends it is good to see you again," Neelix called out as the Voyager group arrived at the edge of the ruins where the Kazon were living.

The Kazon responded to Neelix's greeting by sweeping him up with a collective growl that wasn't too friendly. The hostiles also moved to take the Voyager crew's weapons. Harry allowed his phaser to be taken because that was the least dangerous weapon he had on his person.

"I must speak with your mache the ever wise Jaben," Neelix announced as he was thrown against a wall with weapons drawn on him. "Jaben my old friend," the whiskered alien called when another Kazon walked out of the ruins. "Water, I have water to replace all that I borrowed. These people have provided me with enough water to pay you back with interest."

Harry held up a canister which the lead Kazon came over and sampled before demanding, "You have more?"

"On our ship yes," Harry answered without showing any fear. Harry immediately discerned that these Kazon were much like the Klingon. A being didn't show fear to a Klingon if that being hoped to be respected. "We'll give you two hundred times the amount you just sampled in exchange for that Ocampa over there," the sorcerer offered while indicating an attractive young woman that had just stepped out of the ruins.

"Why are you interested in such a worthless creature?" Jaben questioned in confusion. "They live only nine years and make poor servants. We caught this one when she wandered to the surface. The entity in space," Jaben continued while indicating the pulses of energy impacting the planet's surface several kilometers away. "The entity gives them food and power while also giving them sole access to the only source of water on this world. There is some kind of subterranean barrier we cannot penetrate protecting the Ocampa. Occasionally several Ocampa find their way to the surface. I've tried my best to get her to tell me how but she won't." It was plain what Jaben's best was by the split lip and black eye the blonde Ocampa sported. "I want double the water you suggested for her," Jaben demanded.

From there it was a matter of haggling the price down to a suitable amount. When the right quantity was agreed upon Voyager transported the containers down inside the shuttle. From there Harry led Jaben alone to the shuttle and set the water outside the shuttle hatch.

"I know what you're thinking Jaben. You are thinking you can ransom us for more water. I'm telling you right now that if you try I will kill you and every one of your people here before you can touch my fellow crew members," Harry, a warrior wizard of the greatest skill, calmly informed the Kazon mache.

There was the promise of death in the green eyed pilot's eyes which sent a shiver down the Kazon's spine.

"Very well," Jaben agreed. "Let them go with the Ocampa," Jaben called to his people.

The away team wasted no time returning to their shuttle with the Ocampa female.

"Our weapons and tricorders Jaben," Harry prompted with a warning growl. The Kazon nodded to his people who returned the technology. "A pleasure doing business with you Jaben," the pilot declared with a grin before closing the hatch and taking off.

"Where did you learn to barter like that Mr. Paris?" Janeway questioned with no small amount of awe at the pilot's skills.

"Oh you pick up things here and there with my past Captain. What is your name sweetheart?" Harry asked the blonde Ocampa.

"Kes, my name is Kes. Thank you for rescuing me," Kes said to the handsome man.

"I rescued you," Neelix declared hotly.

"With their help," Kes pointed out.

Sickbay a short while later…

"If you had told us what you had planned we might have anticipated your behavior and provided more assistance," Tuvok informed Neelix as the holographic doctor checked out Kes and healed her injuries.

"Please don't blame Neelix," Kes requested as she sat up fully healed, worry for Neelix in her tone.

"That is enough…this is a sick bay," the emergency medical hologram, EMH, declared. "Everyone but my patient is to leave immediately."

"Computer end medical holographic program," Janeway ordered causing the doctor to vanish.

"I never should have gone to the surface. I'm too curious. I am told it is my worst failing," Kes explained.

"Curiosity in moderation is nothing bad. Although you could have hoped for better first contacts besides the Kazon," Harry pointed out comfortingly which made Kes feel a bit better.

"Would you be willing to lead us back to look for our missing crew?" Kathryn requested.

"My people seal up the exposed tunnels fairly quickly," Kes explained.

"Captain a word, please," Harry requested with a nod to the other side of the sick bay in order to indicate where he wanted to talk.

"What brilliant idea has your mind conjured up now Mr. Paris?" Janeway inquired when all but Kes and Neelix had joined the pilot.

"Our sensors can't pick up the energy field from this far away. The barrier probably has cloaking properties. We won't be able to get a transporter lock through from this distance. But our tricorders should act as sensor relays enough so that we can locate holes in the energy field. We can then transport through the solid matter. A relay beacon on each side of the field should allow for a solid signal from anywhere inside the compound," Harry suggested confidently.

Shaking her head in amusement at the brilliant mind that had such a bad reputation, the Captain declared, "Make it so Mr. Paris."

When the plan was explained to Kes she agreed to help.

"I'm curious…how did you know about the breaches from the decaying energy barrier?" Kes questioned the handsome pilot.

"You had to have gotten out somehow didn't you?" Harry pointed out. "Besides that I suspect the reason the Caretaker has sped up delivery of the energy he provides your people is because he isn't able to maintain his care for much longer. I suspect he is dying. If he's trying to fill your energy reserves as quickly as possible he most likely has set all current technology you have on its lowest power consumption levels. His power generation capabilities might be taxed filling your city's reserves so the shield generator systems would probably suffer a lack of power and therefore the barrier would decay somewhat."

"His logic is sound," Tuvok agreed. "I myself have been coming to the same conclusions."

It didn't take long to find the predicted holes in the barrier and transport through. Kes led the way to some of her friends. The blonde Ocampa greeted one of her male friends with a hug.

"We thought we would never see you again. How did you get back," the male named Dagon questioned the blonde Kes.

"These people rescued me from the Kazon," Kes answered while gesturing towards her companions. "I am trying to help them find their missing crew members. Does anyone know where the aliens are kept who are sent by the Caretaker?"

"I think they are at the central clinic," Dagon supplied.

"I know where that is," Kes announced. "Thank you Dagon."

"You cannot go against the Caretaker's wishes Kes," a telepathic projection came loud and clear to any telepaths in the area.

A short argument ensued between Kes and an older man before Kes defied her elder and led the Voyager crew towards the clinic.

"What was that about?" Chakotay questioned.

"I had to inform a traditionalist that he doesn't rule me. I did so telepathically," Kes answered.

The Federation group absorbed this news after a few moments. Telepathic species existed in the Alpha Quadrant of the galaxy as well. Tuvok was a telepath himself to a limited degree. Vulcan mind melds weren't exactly as versatile as Harry's telepathy but it would do in a pinch.

As the group was making their way towards the clinic the pulses of energy from the Caretaker came faster and faster until finally they stopped.

"Away team to Voyager…what's going on with the array?" Janeway demanded over her com.

"It's no longer sending out pulses Captain and is realigning its position," the bridge officer answered.

"Keep me informed, Janeway out," the Captain ordered.

When the group reached the clinic they discovered that B'Elanna and Ensign Kim had not been at the place for hours.

"They are trying to get to the surface. Can you lead us the way you went Kes?" Harry requested of the blonde Ocampa.

"Yes. I can do that," Kes agreed before leading the group away rapidly.

Just then the entire city shook as more energy impacted the ground nearby.

"Voyager to away team," the Captain's com chirped.

"Go ahead," Kathryn replied.

"The array is firing some kind of weapon at the surface in order to seal the energy conduits," the bridge officer explained.

"This supports Mr. Paris' theory. Sealing the conduits will protect the Ocampa from their enemies," Tuvok announced.

Just then the group reached the section of the city which led up towards the energy barrier. The group split up to check different entrances to the network of tunnels.

"They are in this one," Harry called back to his companions after scanning the tunnel with his tricorder.

"Mr. Paris, Kes, lead the way," Janeway commanded.

The group ran up the metallic staircase at a fast pace as the tunnel shook from the impact of the weapon.

"There they are," the mage called a few minutes later as he spotted the missing pair.

The agile warrior covered the remaining distance and leaned down to support the weak B'Elanna and Ensign Kim. The magician then took off further up the tunnel with the others hurrying behind.

"We can just use the transporters Mr. Paris," Janeway called.

"I wouldn't if I were you. If you check your tricorder readings you will see that the radiation from those energy projectiles might interfere with transport. We had best do this on foot at least until we get to the surface," Harry suggested.

"At least allow me to help with Ensign Kim," Tuvok urged as he came up and took the ensign's arm.

"That will be fine. I would rather help the gorgeous woman instead," Harry mumbled the last part so low that only the fevered B'Elanna heard.

The half Klingon admitted to herself that she found the blonde man incredibly attractive. The pilot's body was firm against her own as he practically carried her up the tunnel behind Kes. Soon the group arrived at an energy barrier that didn't completely block the tunnel.

"Whatever you do don't touch it," Kes warned. "We have been told the energy barrier will burn your skin off."

As the Ocampa female squeezed by the barrier B'Elanna had recovered enough that she was able to stand on her own. As the attractive male had held the dark skinned woman she had felt her strength return while her fever seemed to recede. The warlock had been channeling healing energy into the female's weakened form. One by one the group squeezed by the barrier.

"I believe we have reached the top," Tuvok announced. "Phasors Mr. Paris," the Vulcan suggested as he drew his own weapon.

The two males fired their concentrated beams at a section of the nearby tunnel ceiling. Rock and dust started to fill the tunnel as the roof gave way. Harry turned and shielded Kes and B'Elanna with his much larger form.

"Come on, up you go," Harry urged Kes as he gave her a boost up to the surface, propelling her quite a ways by using his telekinesis to augment his strength.

Next to go up was B'Elanna. If the handsome pilot copped a feel as she ascended to the surface B'Elanna gave no protest. The hybrid's Klingon nature enjoyed the forcefulness of the sorcerer's approach.

Soon the entire group was on the surface where they quickly called for transport up to Voyager. The away team plus their two rescued crew members were shortly after able to relax in sickbay.

"Bridge to Janeway," the Captain's badge chirped minutes after her return to Voyager.

"Go ahead," Kathryn prompted her bridge crew.

"Captain, two Kazon ships are approaching," the bridge officer informed his CO.

"I'm on my way," Janeway assured her subordinate. Harry was the second out the door after the Captain. "Bring the primary weapon systems online," Janeway ordered as she stepped out of the turbo lift.

"Arming phaser banks and photon systems," Tuvok announced.

"Red alert," Kathryn called.

"The lead Kazon vessel is hailing us Captain," Tuvok informed the bridge.

"On screen," Janeway commanded.

"Have you come to investigate the entity's strange behavior too Captain?" Jaben questioned.

"All we care about is getting home Jaben. We're about to transport over to the array to see if we can arrange it," Kathryn informed the Kazon.

"I cannot permit that," Jaben replied.

"We have no quarrel with you Jaben," Janeway declared.

"I have a quarrel with anyone who would challenge us," the red skinned being argued, cutting off the view screen and opening fire.

"Shields are holding," Tuvok announced as the ship rocked a bit.

"Fire phasors and take evasive pattern delta four," the Captain commanded.

The pilot began using the array spires as a shield but there really wasn't much evasion given the greater maneuverability of the smaller Kazon vessels when compared to Voyager.

"Mr. Tuvok and I will transport over to the array. Mr. Paris, take the con," the Captain ordered.

"Yes Ma'am," Harry agreed as he stepped into place.

The sorcerer began putting Voyager through her paces.

"It looks like the Kazon have gotten backup," Ensign Kim called out as a much larger ship dropped out of warp.

"I see it Harry," the wizard replied. "You had best inform the Captain she should hurry back."

The powerful green eyed immortal closed his eyes and reached out with his mind to the pilot of one of the smaller Kazon ships. The Kazon pilot's will eroded under the mental assault of the warlock until the Potter male was able to force the enemy pilot to maneuver his ship onto the same side of Voyager as the other smaller ship. The sorcerer sensed the buildup of energy just before the array fired another burst towards the Ocampa planet. Harry played chicken with the much smaller ship.

The enemy pilot that Harry wasn't controlling panicked and tried to maneuver away but instead bounced off the shields of the other smaller Kazon vessel and careened straight into one of the shielded spires of the station. The Caretaker's shields flattened the smaller vessel. The force of the two smaller ships meeting sent the other Kazon craft directly into the path of the Caretaker's weapon. The second ship was disintegrated in the green energy burst.

"Two down and one to go," the warlock called to the stunned silence of the bridge at his amazing display of skill. Just then two more ships dropped out of warp equal in size to the larger Kazon vessel. "Ok…now we're in trouble," Harry growled.

"Tom, I'll take out one with this ship. My people are already transporting onboard Voyager," Chakotay's voice came over the com even as B'Elanna transported in next to the immortal warrior.

Seconds after that Janeway and Tuvok were transported onboard Voyager.

"Mr. Tuvok, ready the tri-cobalt devices. We're going to destroy that array. It was the Caretaker's last wish and we can't let the array fall into the hands of the Kazon. Open a channel to Jaben's vessel," Janeway ordered.

"I'm sorry ma'am but our communications array was damaged in the firefight," the com officer announced.

"Well then I guess Jaben isn't getting any warning then," Kathryn declared.

"You can't destroy that array. It's our only way home," B'Elanna protested even as Chakotay was transported onto the bridge while another Kazon vessel started blowing up as the Maquis ship impacted into a vital point.

"B'Elanna it's the only way," Chakotay assured his long time friend. "You know that."

"We'll get home another way," Harry assured the half Klingon.

B'Elanna Torres didn't know what it was about the handsome Mr. Paris but something in his tone gave her assurance that they would get home at some point. There was intelligence, kindness, and a power that set her Klingon parts tingling with anticipation conveyed in Tom's expression.

B'Elanna just nodded her agreement without ever taking her eyes off the skilled pilot.

"The tri-cobalt devices are ready," Tuvok announced.

"And we're at the correct distance," Harry added.

"Fire," Janeway ordered.

Two projectile weapons shot from the underside of Voyager and impacted the space station, destroying the array. The most powerful magician that ever lived allowed a small smile to play on his lips as a successful trick had been pulled worthy of the heir of the Marauders. The moment he knew that Kathryn intended to destroy the array, the eldest Potter had used his technology to travel several hours back in time. Working inside the expandable pocket dimension of his trunk the sorcerer had crafted a to-size replica of the array. The scientists on Potter's Moon had long ago figured out how to use magic to fool Federation sensors. So the replica would look like the array even on Voyager's sensors.

The moment after Janeway and Tuvok transported back to Voyager Harry cast an incredibly powerful switching spell, instantaneously replacing the replica for the real array. The wizard then replaced the version of himself that had just jumped back in time. The real array was safely stored inside the pocket dimension inside the sorcerer's trunk. The pocket dimension could be expanded in volume as much as the owner needed granted the wizard or witch had sufficient power. The greatest warlock to ever live had no trouble powering his trunk.

"You asked to see me Captain," Harry said after he stepped into Kathryn's ready room a short while after the false array had been destroyed.

"Mr. Paris you have a problem. I've extended the invitation to Chakotay and the other Maquis to integrate into Voyager's crew. The problem arises in that Chakotay will be my First Officer. Everyone onboard this ship will report to him, including the lieutenant assigned to Con," Kathryn explained while suppressing a smile.

"I assume you mean me," Harry clarified, pleasantly surprised.

"I've entered into the ship's log on this date that I am granting a field commission of Lieutenant to Thomas Eugene Paris," Janeway formally acknowledged. The Captain stood and shook the warlock's hand while finally releasing her smile. "Congratulations Tom. That was some of the best flying I've ever heard of," Kathryn praised. "You've definitely earned this."

A short while later Kathryn joined the rest of the senior officers on the bridge.

"We're alone in an uncharted part of the galaxy. Already we've made several good friends. Also we've made some powerful enemies. The dangers ahead are unknown but one thing that is very evident is that both Maquis and Federation crews will have to merge and work side by side to fight for our survival," Janeway spoke strongly. "That is why Commander Chakotay and I have agreed that Voyager will be run by one crew, a Starfleet crew."

Harry shared a look with the attractive B'Elanna who was leaning against a nearby console. The mage noticed the subtle blush on the hybrid's features. The pilot granted his admirer a warm smile.

"We will continue to follow our directive; to seek out new worlds and explore space. But our primary goal is clear…even at maximum speeds it would take seventy-five years to reach the Federation. But I'm definitely not willing to settle for that. I learned from the Caretaker that there is another member of his species out there who will have the ability to send us home much faster. We'll be searching for her along the way. We'll also search for wormholes, spatial rifts, and new technologies to speed us up. We will find our way back," the Captain solemnly vowed. "Mr. Paris, set a course…for home."

"Aye Captain," Harry agreed and proceeded to send Voyager into high warp, the course already having been plotted.

Janeway had also learned other information about the Caretaker during her conversation with him. The powerful entity was a member of an extra-galactic race of explorers. The others of the Caretaker's species had moved on after damaging the Ocampa's planet while the Caretaker and the other female Kathryn had mentioned were left behind to care for the Ocampa. But the female had moved on to explore after a long period of time. The Caretaker knew he was dying so pulled in dozens of ships from multiple species to see if he could procreate with any of the alien life forms, having lost contact with the female member of his own race. The Caretaker believed that only his offspring could see to the Ocampa's safety.

Concerning Ocampa, Kes and Neelix would be staying onboard Voyager to act as consultants for the many species in the local arm of the galaxy Voyager found itself relocated to. Harry doubted Neelix's contacts were as widespread as the boastful alien claimed but that didn't mean that some of the whiskered alien's experiences wouldn't come in handy. Besides that Harry had much greater concerns to take up his attention. The warrior mage was curious as to what had become of the rest of the Caretaker's exploration party and exactly how powerful this race was.

To help discover the answers to these issues the eldest Potter sent a copy of the data acquired from the array back to his top scientists on Potter's Moon. Just because Federation technology couldn't reach from Voyager to Earth in a reasonable time from Voyager's current distance didn't mean there wasn't a magical means to do so. But the sheer size of the Caretaker's database was staggering. It would be many years before the Potter family could map the full extent of the knowledge contained within. But it would be a fun few years.

Author's Note:

First of all…this is a Path verse. Path-Harry will be making an appearance later in the story. From the very first word I wrote this verse with the expectation that this Original-Harry and Path-Harry would at some point merge.

Second, I have received quite a few reviews asking me when Path would update or even if it would update. I don't respond to these types of reviews or PMs. They annoy me as I have mentioned in the past. But I guess the idiots who send me those types of messages don't bother reading author's notes because I have spoken of this before.
