Stardate 48439.7 (A week later)…
In the past week Harry had stayed very close to one particular female, B'Elanna Torres. Already he could see that his aura of sexual allure was growing in power due to his not having had sex since the day he had departed from the Alpha Quadrant. The women onboard Voyager who had the most contact with the pilot were all showing signs of extreme attraction to the handsome male. B'Elanna chose to vent her sexual frustrations on the senior engineer onboard Voyager, Lt. Carrey. During an argument with Carey, B'Elanna broke the man's nose.
Harry heard about the altercation just before going into the senior officers' briefing.
"Engine efficiency has dropped another fourteen percent," Harry reported to the group of officers.
"What about alternative energy sources," Janeway inquired. "Ensign Kim, how has it been going trying to draw power from the holodeck reactors?"
"We have tried connecting the generators to the main power grid but overloaded half the relays. The holodeck energy matrix just isn't compatible with the other power systems," Kim explained.
"Captain if we move all security personnel to deck seven then deck nine can be powered down, freeing up energy for propulsion," Chakotay suggested.
"That would be inconvenient but most acceptable," the Chief of Security agreed.
Harry liked Tuvok's Vulcan pragmatism in times like these.
"Fine," Janeway agreed. "But now let's move onto the personnel issue."
Just as the meeting was about to continue Kes and Neelix came rushing in.
"Sorry we're late but we weren't informed there was a meeting being held," Neelix announced. "There don't seem to be enough chairs," he added while looking around the table.
"Neelix this is a meeting for the senior officers," Kathryn tried explaining.
"Well I'm the senior Telaxian onboard. Kes is the senior Ocampa," the whiskered alien pointed out. "And I do know more about this region of space than any other member of the crew."
"We have some excellent suggestions Captain," Kes added softly.
"Very well, you are welcome to join the briefing this time," Janeway agreed.
"You can take my seat Kes," Harry informed the attractive blonde as he stood, causing the Ocampa female to blush as she felt the handsome immortal's gaze upon her.
"Would it be possible to convert one of your lower decks into a hydroponics bay in order to grow your own food?" Kes inquired. "That would help alleviate the problem of the replicators being down and the dwindling supply of emergency rations."
"Cargo bay two would work for that. That cargo bay was meant for organic storage and possesses adjustable environmental controls," Harry put forth helpfully.
"When can you start Kes? It was your idea and I can think of no one better," Janeway suggested.
"Right away Captain," Kes agreed with a small smile.
"I can do some wonderful things with vegetables Captain," Neelix declared. "My feragoid goolash is known across twelve star systems."
"Now to the personnel issue," an amused Kathryn said in order to get the group back on track. "We've managed to find a replacement Transporter Chief. We still need an Astrogation Plotter, a Chief Engineer, Medical Support Personnel."
"I've made a list of several Maquis crew members who would make good officers," Chakotay announced while passing Janeway a pad.
"B'Elanna Torres," Janeway said with surprise after skimming the names on Chakotay's list. "She was the one involved in that incident with Mr. Carey."
"That's right," Chakotay confirmed.
"Just what job do you want her to have?" Janeway clarified.
"Chief Engineer," Chakotay proposed.
"Captain," Harry spoke up, drawing all eyes upon himself. "I've gotten the chance to know B'Elanna over the past week and although she's a bit rough around the edges with personal interactions she is otherwise brilliant. Most beings of genius never are good with interpersonal relations when they are young. She will learn."
"No offense Mr. Paris but what makes you qualified to judge a brilliant engineer?" Kathryn asked curiously.
Looking resigned Harry asked, "Did you notice the parts in my record that were encrypted?"
"Yes, I must admit to finding that part curious. Only working for certain intelligence agencies has usually garnered that much encryption on a record," Janeway replied.
"Please type in this password," Harry instructed. "142455KS57IQ4552155SX."
As soon as Kathryn did as the handsome pilot requested the encrypted parts of his record became available on her pad. Janeway's eyes bugged out as she saw one of the most distinguished records she had ever come across. According to his record Mr. Paris had been an intelligence operative for many years. The list of degrees the pilot held was long and varied. Janeway nodded in understanding when she read the various fields of engineering Tom Paris was schooled in. The incident with the death of several men that Mr. Paris was notorious for was simply a cover that allowed him to have a reason for going in search of the Maquis. Any further information was still classified as part of an ongoing mission. Kathryn saw that Tom's real rank was just below her own. He had the highest rank one could have as an intelligence operative and still remain in the field. She suspected that rank was intentional on his part.
"I see, yes you are definitely a qualified judge. I'll take your recommendation under consideration," Kathryn agreed, surprising everyone else present in the room greatly. "Lt. Paris I see that you are also qualified as a field medic at the very least and quite a bit more. Would you consider helping out in sickbay and on away missions where a medic is needed?"
"Certainly Captain," Harry agreed, seeing no problem with that request since he was a skilled healer.
At that moment the entire ship shook hard as if it had run into a wall of some sort. Alarms blared as the Captain ordered the officers to their stations.
"We're running into some kind of spatial distortion," the former Maquis female on sensors announced as the officers made it into the shaking bridge.
Harry closed his eyes and reached out with his mage senses, feeling the gravitational turbulence pervading the space Voyager was passing through or at this point occupying. The starship had come to a dead halt although the warp field was still trying to compensate.
"The spatial distortions are coming from a highly localized point in the spacetime continuum twenty thousand kilometers off the port bow," Tuvok added.
"All stop," Janeway commanded just as Harry was shutting down the engines himself. "On screen," the Captain ordered as she went to her command chair and looked over the sensor readings. "Gravimetric flux density is over 2000%. If I'm not mistaken we're looking at a type four quantum singularity."
Type four designation meant the singularity was mostly unknown to the Federation which explains why the ship's sensors didn't prevent Voyager from running into the damn thing.
"Captain I'm picking up a transmission from within the singularity," Tuvok announced.
Harry used his console to pinpoint the source of the transmission more quickly than Mr. Kim could. The mage was getting agitated because his senses told him exactly where Voyager was, within the event horizon of the singularity. The almost four century old magician remembered when humans still thought such singularities were infinitely dense regions of the spacetime continuum and were inescapable from. Of course those were the days before warp engines were even being considered. On the view screen a ship was zoomed in on but still wasn't clear enough to make out the design.
"Captain…I think I have an idea on how to clean up the image and also the audio signal," Harry suggested. "But I'll need to consult with B'Elanna."
"Do it Mr. Paris," Janeway agreed. "You can use the briefing room."
If anyone was an expert on the type four singularity onboard Voyager it would be the very well credentialed Lt. Paris.
"You wanted to see me Sir?" The human Klingon hybrid questioned as she stepped inside the briefing room a few minutes later.
B'Elanna felt the urge to jump the handsome pilot who had been haunting her dreams for the past week in a very erotic way. It was all the woman could do to restrain her more aggressive instincts as they urged her to claim this gorgeous man as her mate.
"I put in a good word for you with the Captain for the Chief Engineer's position. But I want to give you a further advantage over Carey by having you figure out a way out of our current predicament. That shaking a while ago was due to Voyager crashing through the event horizon of a type four quantum singularity. We are currently inside the singularity and will be crushed in several hours if we don't get out," Harry calmly explained to an alarmed B'Elanna. "So far none of the rest of the crew realizes we're even in the singularity because the sensors are picking up a quantum reflection of Voyager."
"Well then we need to make them realize it," B'Elanna asserted while marveling at the fact that the quite devious pilot was giving her such an opportunity. "Why are you helping me Tom?"
The senior officer had instructed B'Elanna to call him by his first name over the last week as they worked closely together.
"First of all as I have gotten to know you I realized you are brilliant. Second Voyager needs the best officers and you are the best. Carey is too much of a stickler for protocol and the rules. And third I'm greatly attracted to you and it would be a lot easier to ask you out if you were made a senior officer," Harry explained with an intensity in his eyes that made B'Elanna want him all the more.
Harry's admission was all B'Elanna Torres needed to hear as she rushed forward and grasped him by the uniform collar, pulling the handsome male down to capture his lips in a searing kiss that aroused both participants. As she pulled back to breathe quite a few moments later B'Elanna couldn't resist briefly biting the pilot along his jaw. Fortunately the sorcerer knew that this was a Klingon mating habit.
"How much time do we have?" B'Elanna panted out.
"As much as we need," Harry replied confidently.
"Good," B'Elanna growled as she pushed the warlock back against the briefing table and ground her crotch against his groin.

After the two new lovers had composed themselves sufficiently they returned to the bridge where they learned that Janeway had tried hailing the other ship several more times without any luck.
"Captain it seems like the spatial distortions are interfering with the phase alignment on the communications array," B'Elanna observed as she stood next to her new mate's console and examined the readings from the sensors. "We can screen out the distortions by setting up a localized damping field around the array."
"Give it a try," a suddenly excited Captain encouraged.
OP – Star Trek Voyager – OP – Star Trek Voyager – OP – Star Trek Voyager – OP
A short while later…
"The dampers are online and I'm rerouting the signal through the deflector grid," B'Elanna explained as the Captain and Chakotay observed.
Harry helped his lover with the modifications.
"Open a channel to the other ship," Kathryn commanded.
The signal was still too distorted to make out so B'Elanna increased the dampening field intensity.
"It's working…the distortions are being compensated for," Harry announced.
As the signal still sounded garbled the wizard's hands flew over the control console, causing the machine to compensate for amplitude distortion.
"This is Captain Kathryn Janeway of the Starship Voyager to the vessel near the quantum singularity. Do you need help?" Janeway's earlier static filled hail came through.
"That's your hail," Chakotay pointed out even as B'Elanna used the damping field technique on the visual scanners.
A starship identical to Voyager soon appeared on the view screen.
"We need to move quickly," Harry suggested.
"Yes…it's obvious now that we are the ship caught in the quantum singularity. That initial shudder must have been us crashing through the event horizon. Only our warp field allowed us to remain intact," B'Elanna agreed.
"What do we need to do to get out?" Kathryn asked the two geniuses.
"If we saturate the event horizon with warp particles it should make the rupture we made when we first entered visible to our sensors," Harry explained.
"Sir could you take the main deflector offline," B'Elanna requested of the Chief of Security. The Vulcan quickly began doing so. "I'm rerouting the port and starboard plasma flow to the main deflector," B'Elanna announced as she furiously worked at a spare console.
"The deflector is now offline," Tuvok informed the bridge.
"Initializing plasma flow," Harry declared, causing a bright beam of energy to impact the event horizon.
Quickly the warrior magician scanned the sensor readings.
"Hold on people…I've found it but the rupture is healing back up. It's barely big enough to fit through but it will be a bumpy ride," Harry informed his crew mates as he activated the impulse engines and steered the massive craft towards the rupture.
"Umm…Tom are you sure that's big enough? My scans are showing the rupture might be too small," Harry Kim pointed out.
The warlock replied, "Yes…you might want to run a diagnostic on your console."
Harry sent a computer virus into his friend's console while closing his eyes and concentrating. The natural born flyer piloted the ship on instinct while reaching out with his considerable power. The magician used his abilities to bend space and time in order to expand the space in the rupture region. It was just like controlling the spells for the sorcerer's pocket dimensional trunk. The rupture widened enough for Voyager to slip through but the vessel still rocked as it passed through the tear in the event horizon.
"Mr. Paris good flying," Janeway praised. "Now get us at least a hundred million kilometers away from the singularity before we begin repairs."
It wasn't long after Voyager left the singularity that Janeway called B'Elanna to the Captain's ready room for a long discussion in which the redhead eventually promoted the human Klingon woman to Chief Engineer. With the warrior wizard to help her work off some of her aggressions in the bedroom B'Elanna was able to keep a cool head when dealing with her new staff. The brown eyed hybrid had a lot of aggressions to work off but then again the warlock had a lot of allure to divert.

Stardate 48501.3, Voyager's Bridge…
Harry had just finished up his shift and was conversing with Ensign Kim when the attractive Kes entered the bridge. The telepathic mage ended his conversation with Mr. Kim and turned his focus on the young alien woman. The sorcerer could sense Kes' distress.
"Kes what are you doing here?" Neelix questioned.
"I had to know," Kes replied.
"Know what?" Neelix queried.
"The planet nearby…everyone was killed after this terrible explosion," Kes tried to explain.
"You had a bad dream," Neelix tried to pass the vision off.
"No it was more than a dream," Kes immediately insisted.
"Kes…could you project what you saw into my mind with your telepathy?" Harry suggested.
"I'm not sure," Kes hesitantly answered, unsure of her abilities since she had never tried to project a vision.
"I have some experience dealing with telepathy. Just try to connect with my mind and I'll guide you through the process," Harry encouraged.
Kes nodded her agreement and made the attempt, not missing the glare Neelix was directing towards the handsome Mr. Paris. Kes was amazed at the power of Tom Paris' mind as well as the order she found there. Soon the vision was playing out. It was like Tom could feel her distress and helped to take the despair over the accident away from the blonde Ocampa. The more experienced Harry was able to only show a portion of his mind to Kes so that she didn't discover his true nature.
"She wasn't dreaming Captain," Harry assured the leader of the Voyager crew a few minutes later when the visions cleared. "Kes has the ability to see into nearby alternate timelines. Kes had a vision of a great explosion on the nearby planet due to an incident in their power generation facility which wiped out all life."
"Amazing," Janeway commented.
"I can confirm that there is life on the planet in question Captain," Tuvok added while bringing up a view of the planet on the main screen. "They are pre-Warp."
"I know some techniques that will help you block out the unwanted visions and distinguish between such images and reality if you're interested. It will take quite some time to learn them," Harry offered Kes.
The techniques Harry was speaking of were taught in the Seer courses on Potter's Moon for anyone with Seer abilities or anyone who wanted to expand the limited instinctual precognitive abilities most of wizard kind was born with.
"Oh I'm interested," Kes agreed immediately before throwing a nervous glance at the overbearing Neelix.
The whiskered alien did not appear happy but wouldn't say anything outright against the training sessions because Kes obviously needed the training to prevent further stress.

Stardate 48532.4…
Voyager had just arrived at a rogue planetoid that Neelix assured the Captain was a rich source of dilithium. B'Elanna had already started work on a refining facility housed in the impulse engine reactor.
"Are you picking up any dilithium," Kathryn questioned Ensign Kim as she walked onto the bridge followed closely by Neelix.
"Yes Captain," Harry Kim agreed. "The strongest readings are originating from ten to twenty kilometers inside the planetoid."
The image of the planetoid was displayed on the main view screen.
"I'm also picking up a cave network with an oxygen nitrogen atmosphere," B'Elanna announced from an engineering position on the bridge.
"How much dilithium are you picking up?" Kathryn asked B'Elanna.
"Anywhere from five hundred to one thousand metric tons," the Klingon human hybrid replied.
"Just as I said," Neelix declared. "I bet there are a few Ulidian engineers who would give all three of their spinal columns to know where this planetoid is."
Ignoring Neelix's ego the Captain ordered Chakotay, "Commander, take an away team into those caves for a preliminary analysis. Lieutenant, you better get your dilithium refinery online," Janeway told B'Elanna.
"It will be finished in two days Captain," B'Elanna assured the redhead while throwing her lover a grateful glance.
B'Elanna Torres was constantly amazed at the depth of knowledge her sexual partner held within his mind. The blonde pilot had suggested some improvements to B'Elanna's original refinery designs which increased the efficiency, sped up the refining process, cut back on space usage, and shaved off at least a day in the construction process. Tom's assistance combined with his amazing skill in bed had the beautiful Chief Engineer happier than she had ever been at any time in her life. Physically the part Klingon woman had never felt healthier or stronger. The healthiest the busty engineer felt always coincided with her sexual liaisons with the handsome pilot.
The telepathic mage barely paid attention as Neelix managed to get a spot on Chakotay's away team along with Ensign Kim. Harry was instead spending his time admiring his beautiful B'Elanna. Harry had spent a great deal of time with B'Elanna lately. If the pair weren't having fabulous sex then they were talking, sharing a romantic meal, reading, or doing some other activity. In a short time a bond had developed between the wizard and the part Klingon. Thanks to transferring as much of his allure to B'Elanna as possible the warlock was able to keep his nature from causing a full on orgy onboard Voyager. But despite B'Elanna's aid the mage knew that eventually he wouldn't be able to contain his sexual allure as it gradually built up. No single female could absorb all of the eldest Potter's allure by herself.
The long lived mage had discovered through experimentation that a minimum of three women were required to drain his allure to manageable levels. But the allure's effects on B'Elanna were plain. To one with the ability to see magic the dark skinned beauty practically glowed with vitality and energy. To the mundane mortals of the Voyager crew B'Elanna just appeared exceptionally energetic in temperament and absolutely gorgeous.
Harry was discussing the progress of the dilithium refinery with B'Elanna when the call came through from Chakotay.
"Chakotay to Voyager…we have a medical emergency. Beam us directly to sick bay," the Second in Command of Voyager ordered.
Harry made his way down to sick bay to see if he might help with the medical emergency. The warrior wizard arrived in the corridor outside of sick bay at the same time as Kes.
"B'Elanna informed me that something was going on medically with the away team but she didn't know who. Who was injured Tom?" A worried young blonde Ocampa questioned.
"I'm not sure…let's find out," Harry replied as he led the way into sick bay.
Chakotay and Harry Kim looked greatly saddened while the Doctor pulled a sheet up over the third member of the away team.
"Nooo," Kes screamed as she rushed forward and pulled the sheet back to find the motionless form of Neelix.
"I'm sorry Kes," Chakotay spoke up as Kes sobbed and clutched at Neelix.
Harry came up behind the young telepath and wrapped her in his arms, leaning down to whisper soothingly in her ear.
"It'll be alright Kes," Harry whispered. "Neelix is in a better place."
Kes turned into the eldest Potter's embrace and cried into his shoulder, clutching onto him for dear life. Because her back was turned Kes didn't see Neelix's spirit rise out of his body and drift through the nearest wall with a dazed expression on his face. But the wizard saw the departed soul right away while none of the mundanes present noticed the spirit. The wizard suspected that Kes would have been able to see her boyfriend's spirit had she been looking towards that direction at the right time.
"What happened?" Kes asked after quite a few minutes of crying.
"Neelix wandered out of the search radius. He mentioned something about detecting a bioelectric signature near what was supposed to be a large deposit of dilithium. We couldn't actually find any dilithium even though our scans told us it was there. We heard Neelix cry out over his com and got to him as quickly as possible," Chakotay explained.
"We found him convulsing," Ensign Kim added.
"Someone removed Mr. Neelix's lungs and heart through some kind of transportation device," the Doctor spoke up to explain. "There was nothing I could do for him. Mr. Neelix passed within seconds of arriving here."
"This planetoid is probably a trap to lure beings in. The bioelectric signature Neelix detected must have been the organ harvester," Harry pointed out.
"I am going to go inform the Captain," Chakotay announced.
"I will see to Kes for now," Harry informed the group.
The Commander nodded his agreement with that idea before leaving sickbay with Ensign Kim following behind. Harry practically had to carry Kes out of the medical chamber. The blonde Ocampa female had been staying with Neelix but couldn't stand to go back to her room at the moment. So the warlock took his charge back to his quarters and laid Kes upon the bed.
"It hurts so much Tom…does the pain ever go away?" Kes asked in a whisper as her friend held her gently while rubbing her back slowly.
"The pain can fade somewhat but we will always miss the ones we love when they leave us," the experienced Potter answered. "Enter my mind and I will help you Kes."
The younger telepath did so. Harry guided Kes through the process of adjusting to her loss. In the span of a few minutes Kes learned to reach a level of resolution and closure that it would normally take someone who had lost a loved one years to achieve.
"Thank you Tom," a very grateful Kes whispered just before drifting off to sleep, tired from the mental exertion she had just undergone.
The immortal mage climbed out of bed and quickly made his way towards the bridge, sensing that he would soon be needed.
"How is Kes?" A concerned B'Elanna inquired.
The Chief Engineer had become friendly with Kes over the past several weeks due to the fact that Kes spent a lot of time being trained by the handsome Mr. Paris. B'Elanna felt no threat from Kes for one simple reason; B'Elanna Torres was unabashedly bisexual. The human Klingon hybrid was very attracted to Kes.
"She is understandably devastated or at least she was. I have guided her along the path of the healing process via her telepathy. She is currently sleeping. What is going on up here?" Harry inquired from his lover.
"The Captain and Tuvok went down to the planetoid to get to the bottom of this situation," explained B'Elanna as her partner sat down at his console and began typing away rapidly.
A few moments later Ensign Kim announced, "Commander I am picking up a ship coming away from the planetoid."
Before Chakotay could respond Harry added, "And it is already preparing to jump into warp. But not if I have anything to say about it."
Before the smaller ship could get away an incredibly accurate phaser beam cut into the craft from Voyager. The current weapons officer looked a bit put out that his control over the weapons systems had been overridden.
"Good shot Tom," Chakotay declared with admiration as the main view screen showed the disabled vessel. "You have great timing to show up just now."
While Chakotay called the Captain and Tuvok back to the ship Harry activated the tractor beam to secure the alien craft.
OP – Star Trek Voyager – OP – Star Trek Voyager – OP – Star Trek Voyager – OP
The medical bay a short while later…
"This being suffers from a very lethal virus. Many of his body parts appear to be adapted from other species with advanced medical technology that I am unfamiliar with. This male possesses Mr. Neelix's stolen heart and lungs," the Doctor finished his report.
The currently unconscious alien was quite hideous as was the second alien Voyager's crew found deceased in the captured craft. The dead alien had apparently been killed in the process of disabling his ship when some equipment overloaded catastrophically which also rendered the other alien unconscious with several injuries.
"Judging from the fact that our transporter bio filters allowed these beings to be beamed to sick bay I am assuming we aren't particularly susceptible to the virus," Janeway observed.
"No Captain, this species' DNA seems to be particularly vulnerable to the virus," replied the Doctor.
"Wake him up so we can get some answers Doctor," Kathryn ordered. A moment later via a hypospray the prisoner was awake. "You are on the Starship Voyager. I am Captain Kathryn Janeway of the United Federation of Planets."
"I am Motura of the Vidiian Sodality. Where is Dereth?" The alien questioned.
"Dead," Janeway answered bluntly. "What do you call the virus you carry?"
"The phage," Motura replied. "It attacked my people over two millennia ago and has consumed our bodies and genetic code. Our immuno-technology cannot keep up. The phage adapts and resists all attempts to destroy it. Thousands die each day. We try to take the organs we need from the dead but sometimes when the need is immediate we must act more aggressively."
"Warn your people. If I ever encounter your kind again I will do whatever is necessary to protect my people from this harvesting of yours," Janeway threatened. "Transport him back to his ship and let him go."
"I will see to it Captain," Harry assured the redhead.
Motura was soon back onboard his ship but not before the sorcerer had stripped all useful knowledge from the disfigured Vidiian's mind and made a complete copy of the database onboard the vessel. The medical knowledge accumulated by the Vidiians was quite impressive. The healers back on Potter's Moon would be happy to sift through the medical knowledge their ancestor would be obtaining throughout his journeys. Motura's sufficiently repaired vessel only made it several light years from Voyager's position before it mysteriously exploded. The time delayed runic grenade the warlock had spelled invisible and placed inside the Vidiian vessel made sure there was no remnant of the harvesters left.
Neelix's funeral was short and sparsely attended. Not many crew members had met the whiskered alien in the short time he had been onboard the Federation vessel. Even Kes didn't know much about her paramour, having only met him a short time before Voyager came upon the Ocampa home world. Harry could tell that although she was healing that Kes required something to refocus her attention on. The hydroponics bay Kes was responsible for setting up just didn't need that much monitoring. So Harry took it upon himself to begin Kes' training in the medical profession. The holographic Doctor was all too happy to aid in her training because Kes could devote more time to assisting him than the busy pilot could.

Stardate 48546.2…
"Gentlemen," Kathryn greeted Harry and Ensign Kim as the two men shared a meal. As the two men went to stand at attention Janeway said, "As you were. So has crewman Matthews come up with anything interesting from the hydroponics bay this morning?"
B'Elanna and Kes were on duty at the time. Crewman Matthews was the ship's newly assigned Chef. Matthews' family had owned a large restaurant back in San Francisco and had volunteered to cook for the crew in order to cut back on use of the replicators.
"I think it's pretty palatable Captain. Of course Matthews has the same taste buds as us so that doesn't surprise me," Harry answered. Neelix had briefly tried to take up the position of chef before his death. The results were not very edible for humans. "Would you like to join us Captain?" The magician invited the smiling redhead.
"Actually…I'd like that. Let me grab some food," Kathryn agreed before walking over to pick up a tray.
The Ensign, Lieutenant, and Captain shared an enjoyable meal where Harry used his non-magical charm and wit to keep his dark haired friend and Kathryn laughing throughout most of the meal. Kathryn asked the two to call her by her given name when off duty. The adjustment was easier for the eldest Potter than it was for Mr. Kim.
"You know Tom I have to thank you for that overhaul you did on our power systems. The increase in energy efficiency means I can keep getting coffee from the replicator. I'm not sure what I would do without my coffee," Janeway announced.
"Think nothing of it Kathryn," Harry replied just before Kathryn was contacted by the bridge.
"Captain we have picked up a nebula on long range sensors that contains an unusually high concentration of omicron particles," Chakotay announced over the com.
As Chakotay was speaking Harry brought the sensor readings up on his personal computer which was tied into the Voyager network. The mage showed the readings and images to Kathryn and Ensign Kim.
"Hmm…perhaps we can use these omicron particles to add to our energy reserves," Kathryn thought aloud.
Harry examined the nebula intently, processing the data very quickly with his advanced mind.
"I wouldn't suggest that Captain," Harry spoke up, all business now. "That nebula is alive."
"What do you mean?" Kathryn requested clarification.
"See these omicron particle currents here? Those are the being's circulatory system. It also has a nucleonic structure. This nebula is very much alive," Harry explained confidently.
"Amazing," Janeway declared. "Well we won't be extracting any energy from that nebula. Commander I want you to take as many readings as you can as we fly past but don't get too close to the creature. Continue towards home," the Captain ordered.
"Yes Captain," Chakotay agreed.
"So, I've got this holo novel I have been working on for quite some time. B'Elanna and Kes were already going to join me this evening. Would the two of you like to participate as well?" The warlock invited the pair as they got back to their interrupted meals.
"You are a writer," a surprised Kathryn mused. "You continually surprise me Tom. What time period is it set in?"
"Twentieth century Scotland," the wizard answered.
"I'm in," Harry Kim agreed.
"I will join in too," Janeway agreed, glad to get closer to her crew.

That evening, the holodeck…
"Tonight we're going to explore a holo novel I've been working on for some time. Let me tell you a bit about the young man named Harry Potter. It all began on Halloween of the year 1981…," Harry explained to the assembled Voyager crew before going into a synopsis of his early life under the guise of a fictional story.
Several hours were spent exploring the holographically simulated version of Harry's early life. The participants all agreed to having had a fun time and agreed to return to the magical wizarding world at a later date.
