Stardate 49401.2…

Harry was working on some experiments in his personal lab which was inside of his trunk when he sensed something was wrong onboard Voyager. The warrior warlock followed his senses and apparated silently and invisibly into engineering. There were only two crewmen on duty at the time, crewman Darwin and Lon Suder. Suder was a Betazoid former Maquis that had eyes with black pupils which Harry had always found a bit disturbing. But the sorcerer had never had much contact with Suder. B'Elanna had always reported Suder as quiet and a good worker.

Suder was proving how quiet he was at that moment when Harry arrived for the Betazoid was standing behind an unsuspecting crewman Darwin with a raised hydro-spanner, preparing to deliver a fatal blow. In speeds unachievable by mortals the eldest Potter closed the distance between his arrival point and Suder. A swift jab of the warlock's fist and Suder was on the ground unconscious.

"Lieutenant Paris…what's going on?" A surprised Darwin asked after having stood from where he was leaning crouched inside of an open service tube.

"Suder was just about to murder you when I came in," Harry answered. Activating his com badge the mage said, "Paris to Captain Janeway."

"Go ahead Tom," Kathryn replied while sounding sleepy.

"You are needed in Main Engineering. Mr. Suder just attempted to murder crewman Darwin," Harry announced.

"I'm on my way," Kathryn replied, all traces of sleepiness gone from her tone.

Kathryn soon showed up with Chakotay, Tuvok, and B'Elanna.

"What happened?" The Captain questioned the two conscious men.

"I was attempting to repair a faulty circuit in this EPS conduit when all of a sudden I heard a thumping sound behind me mixed with a clang. I turned around and found Suder unconscious and Lieutenant Paris standing there," Darwin spoke first.

"I walked into engineering to test some calculations I have been running and I spotted Suder standing behind Darwin with that hydro-spanner raised to deliver what would have been a fatal blow to the skull," Harry explained while pointing to the hydro-spanner lying next to Suder's open palm.

"The clanging sound you described," Tuvok suggested while meaning the hydro-spanner hitting the deck.

"Yes, I rushed Suder and knocked him out. I didn't have a phaser on me at the time," the eldest Potter finished.

"I can't say this surprises me," Chakotay declared softly.

"What do you mean?" Kathryn probed.

"Lon Suder did what he had to do against the Cardassians a little too well," B'Elanna answered. "I think he enjoyed the killing."

"There were several times I had to pull him back from fights and I wasn't sure if he was going to turn on me next," Chakotay added.

"It's always the quiet ones," Harry announced, remembering that saying in a different context from his youth.

"I didn't really know much about him," Chakotay said.

"In the Maquis resumes were never asked for. All the help the Maquis could get was accepted," B'Elanna clarified.

"I find it curious that none of this was included in your initial crew evaluation Commander," Tuvok said to Chakotay.

"I wasn't about to put hunches in my evaluations Lieutenant. Especially not hunches that would have made it any harder on new crew members," Chakotay rebutted.

"Never-the-less Commander, are there any other former Maquis you think might be harboring homicidal tendencies?" Harry queried before an argument broke out.

Although arguments with Tuvok never ended well because the Vulcan thought his logic was impeccable and never wrong.

"No, Suder was the only one who gave me such feelings. The rest of the crew had a known cause they were fighting for, typically their families. I still don't know why Suder was fighting the Cardassians," Chakotay answered.

"Let's get him to sick bay and then we will ask him why he attempted to murder crewman Darwin," Janeway ordered. "Crewman Darwin," Kathryn added to the still unsettled engineer. "You are to take the rest of this shift off. B'Elanna, call two other engineers on duty to take over for Darwin and Suder. I want you to be there when we question Suder as his superior."

"Yes Captain," B'Elanna agreed.

Harry rather admired the ability of both Kathryn and B'Elanna to maintain their professionalism given how often the pair had been sharing a bed lately. Ever since his initial coupling with the Captain, Harry had found the redhead crawling into his bed with growing frequency. The virile sorcerer certainly wasn't complaining and neither were Kes and B'Elanna. The Captain was quite an attractive woman.

A few minutes later the group of officers was arrayed around Suder in sick bay.

"Mr. Suder is fine, just unconscious," the Doctor announced after an initial examination.

"Can you wake him?" Kathryn requested.

The Doctor injected Suder with a hypospray and the Betazoid woke up a few moments later.

"Why did you attempt to murder Crewman Darwin?" Tuvok immediately questioned.

Suder sat up and looked intently at those arrayed around him. When the murderer's eyes locked on Harry's gaze the mortal was forced to look away.

"I suppose there isn't any point in denying it," Suder said to himself. "I didn't have a reason Mr. Tuvok," the former Maquis informed the Vulcan.

"That is not an adequate answer. You must have had some motive, whether real or perceived," Tuvok argued.

"I didn't like the way he looked at me," Suder rebutted.

"Take him to the Brig," Kathryn commanded with disgust.

Tuvok signaled to a security officer he had summoned to sick bay earlier and the man came forward and took Suder away. Harry learned later from Kes that during her duty shift in sick bay Tuvok had returned to discuss the possibility of Suder being psychotic as well as other possible medical causes for Suder's homicidal tendencies. The tall Vulcan could not close the case unless he found a motive for the attempted murder.

"I just do not know what to do about Suder," Kathryn said at the table in the corner of the mess hall where she was sharing a meal with Kes, Harry, and B'Elanna.

Kathryn had been assured that one of her lover's pieces of technology was keeping their conversation from being overheard by those around the quartet's table. Harry loved using the muffliato charm. It was still a useful spell centuries after the mage had first learned it.

"I could do what I did with Seska," Harry offered.

"I'm not sure we are to that point yet," Kathryn replied. "Besides, I doubt the crew would accept Suder's sudden change of demeanor."

"Kathryn is right. Seska had not visibly murdered anyone when you changed her love," B'Elanna pointed out. "Everyone who worked with her just thought Seska had decided to adopt the Federation policy of honesty and integrity, as hard as that is to believe."

"Tom's suggestion is still an option if no other option presents itself," Kes pointed out. "Hmm…what if we told the crew that I telepathically removed his homicidal tendencies?" The Ocampa beauty suggested.

Just then Kes and Harry both looked towards the Brig. The women had begun to suspect their mate was more than human even though none of them had yet expressed this suspicion verbally. Tom Paris was just too amazing to be a normal human male.

"What is it?" B'Elanna queried, recognizing that two of her companions sensed something and filing the fact that her man had sensed whatever Kes had sensed at the same time away for later contemplation.

"Tuvok, he is performing a mind meld with Suder," Kes declared.

"I didn't authorize that and I certainly would not have had he requested," Kathryn said as she stood and left the cafeteria.

The Captain's dinner companions quickly followed her as she headed towards the Brig at a fast clip. The redhead walked into the Brig just as Tuvok pulled away from Suder. Knowing his fire haired lover quite well, the sorcerer pulled the shaken Vulcan out of Suder's cell.

"What were you thinking, Tuvok?" Kathryn demanded of her Chief of Security as he recovered his faculties.

The guard had already reactivated the cell's force field.

"Careful Captain," Kes warned. "Tuvok is struggling to maintain control of his emotions after the mind meld. Suder's emotions have greatly unsettled him."

"I was hoping some of my emotional suppression capabilities would remain with Suder after the meld," Tuvok tried to explain.

"That does not give you the right to perform a meld on a prisoner without at least consulting the Doctor and myself. Report to sick bay right now and have the Doctor give you a full examination. Would you escort him Tom?" Kathryn requested.

"Of course," Harry agreed before following Tuvok out of the Brig.

The Doctor immediately performed a series of brain scans on Tuvok.

"Levels of neuro-peptides in your limbic system are dropping," the Doctor announced. "You also have a developing neuro-chemical imbalance in your mesio-frontal cortex."

"Your Vulcan emotional suppression systems are compromised," Harry clarified.

"Sharing your mind with a homicidal being was not a good life choice Mr. Tuvok," the Doctor censured.

"What can be done to correct the imbalance?" Tuvok questioned.

"Well we have caught the problem quite early. There is a recommended course of treatment but that is for a later stage. I believe I can correct the issue without resorting to periodically suppressing your own emotional suppression abilities," the Doctor explained as he programmed a hypospray injector before walking up to the Chief of Security and using the injection. "You need to sleep while the hypospray does its work."

Several hours later…

"How is Mr. Tuvok, Doctor?" Kathryn questioned as she entered sick bay.

"His suppression systems appear to be functioning close to normal. Although I'm not sure I would call a race that suppresses all their emotions normal," the Doctor replied.

"He means normal for a Vulcan," Harry corrected with an amused grin at the holographic physician's antics.

"Captain, I must apologize for performing the mind meld without your permission," Tuvok spoke up.

"Apology accepted Tuvok. Don't do it again," Kathryn said. "Now go get some more rest in your quarters. I need my Chief of Security back in top condition," the redhead announced with a grin for her old friend.

Tuvok was easily over twice Kathryn's age and had been her friend for a number of years. That was a bond not easily broken by a little mishap with a mind meld. No serious harm was done thanks to quick intervention on the part of Voyager's resident telepath and genius.

Stardate 49447…

Voyager came upon a small cluster of debris on its journey towards Earth.

"There is not much left of the object," Harry observed. "Judging from the scans it was probably a small vessel around the size of one of our shuttles."

"I am not picking up any organic material in the debris field so the vessel was probably an unmanned probe of some sort," Ensign Kim added.

"The high residual energy signature is indicative of repeated weapons fire impacting the shuttle or probe," Tuvok added his interpretation.

"The wreckage is comprised primarily of Duratanium poly alloy," Kim announced.

"Duratanium," Kathryn said in surprise.

"I haven't come across many weapons that could shatter a Duratanium hull into fragments like that," Chakotay declared.

"Transport some samples to Engineering for analysis and keep up continuous long range scans so that we don't get caught by surprise by whatever destroyed the vessel," Kathryn ordered.

OP – Star Trek Voyager – OP – Star Trek Voyager – OP – Star Trek Voyager – OP

Engineering, a short time later…

"Have you come to any conclusions from the debris sample B'Elanna?" The Captain asked her favorite Klingon-human hybrid as she entered Main Engineering with Harry at her side.

Kathryn had taken to consulting her new lover on more and more issues as she became more comfortable with their relationship. The blonde genius' expertise and experience were invaluable.

"Unfortunately," Chakotay confirmed.

B'Elanna had called the Commander to Engineering when she had realized the preliminary results of her analysis.

"There is no doubt that the signature left by the weapons fire is Cardassian. Furthermore the weapons fire is a result of a Maquis commandeered weapon. It would be best to explain it to the senior crew all at the same time," B'Elanna suggested.

"Assemble the senior crew in the main briefing room Commander," Kathryn instructed.

"Yes Captain," Chakotay responded.

OP – Star Trek Voyager – OP – Star Trek Voyager – OP – Star Trek Voyager – OP

Main Briefing Room a short time later…

"The probe or ship was destroyed by an experimental Cardassian weapon from the Alpha quadrant," B'Elanna started off the briefing with. "I only recognized this weapons signature because I am quite familiar with the technology. Chakotay and I acquired the weapon when we were fighting the Cardassians."

"But how did it get here to the Delta quadrant?" Ensign Kim questioned.

"I suspect the same method we used to get to the Delta quadrant," Chakotay answered.

"The last time we knew of the missile's position and vector was when it was heading into the Badlands in the direction the Caretaker took us from," B'Elanna explained.

"The weapon's original mission was to destroy a Maquis munitions base," Chakotay announced. "The weapon was nicknamed Dreadnought. It's a self guided tactical missile carrying a charge of a thousand kilos of matter and the same amount of anti-matter."

"Such a mass would be enough to destroy a small moon," Tuvok observed.

"Dreadnought also had one of the most sophisticated and complex computer systems I have ever come across. The missile was designed to be adaptable, evasive, and have its own defensive weaponry system. The Cardassians wanted this missile to be unstoppable, a juggernaut," B'Elanna said.

"Dreadnought got through all of our defenses and worked like it was supposed to except in one area. Dreadnought never went off," Chakotay continued the story.

"It was purely Cardassian to build such an advanced piece of technology but to arm it with an old style kinetic detonator," an amused B'Elanna explained. "The missile skipped off the atmosphere and went into orbit without a fuss. From there I was able to get inside of Dreadnought and reprogram it. I made the computer system forget about being Cardassian and instead made it think it was created by the Maquis."

"And we gave it a new mission; to destroy the Cardassian fuel depot on Ashlon 5," Chakotay interrupted to say. "But the missile never made it through the Badlands. We had assumed a plasma storm had destroyed Dreadnought. Obviously we were wrong."

Harry could sense the emotions of his part Klingon mate; remorse, regret, guilt. B'Elanna had reprogrammed the weapon for its new mission and sent Dreadnought off without Chakotay's knowledge. The Commander was attempting to protect B'Elanna by claiming some responsibility for the new mission.

"So how do we stop this weapon before it can cause anymore destruction?" Kathryn queried.

"I can modify our navigational sensors to see through Dreadnought's warp trail masking techniques," B'Elanna answered. "I should be able to get back inside of Dreadnought since I know all of the security codes because I installed them myself."

"That is of course assuming that more hasn't changed than you think about the weapon's command structure. We have no idea what Dreadnought has been through since its arrival in the Delta quadrant. I think I should go onboard with you," Harry suggested.

"Agreed," Kathryn immediately approved, having no wish to let B'Elanna go into a foreign and potentially hostile environment alone. "Lieutenant Paris can also assist you with the navigational sensors."

B'Elanna simply nodded in agreement and internally relieved at the prospect of having the man she loved assisting her.

"Keep me informed. Dismissed," the red haired Captain said as she ended the meeting and left the room.

The two lovers got to work modifying the sensors immediately.

"What's bugging you love?" Harry asked.

"You know me too well," B'Elanna said wryly. "I reprogrammed Dreadnought without Chakotay's knowledge. After I did it Chakotay pulled me aside and before I could defend myself Chakotay looked at me and told me that I had hurt him. Chakotay informed me that he thought he had earned my trust and loyalty. I didn't know him very well at this time. I was so relieved when Dreadnought disappeared into the Badlands. I thought it was over but it isn't over. If anything happens here to harm more people because of Dreadnought then it is my fault."

"No love, it isn't your fault at all. You didn't build the original weapon. For all we know Dreadnought could be following some snippet of its original programming," Harry suggested.

"No, I purged all of the original higher command code," B'Elanna argued.

"But not the support system code," Harry pointed out. "I don't imagine you had time to scan all of the support code either. We'll know more when we get back onto Dreadnought. For now don't beat yourself up about this. It will all work out in the end."

Looking into the eyes of her favorite male B'Elanna felt true love.

"I love you. You know just what to say to make me feel better," the vivacious woman said before kissing her mate tenderly.

The Bridge…

"Captain, I am picking up Dreadnought's trail again. View heading 196 Mark 4," Ensign Kim announced.

"I am correcting the course," Harry replied.

"This course is quite erratic," Kathryn said, Voyager having been on Dreadnought's trail for awhile now. "Are we sure we are following a single warp trail?"

"Yes Captain," B'Elanna answered. "Dreadnought is following one of the evasive patterns I programmed into it. It must have spotted us following it. The next time you get a heading Harry look for a brief surge of neutrino emissions within a hundred thousand kilometer radius. Dreadnought is capable of projecting a false warp signature that far."

"I have it. There are elevated neutrino levels and I am locking in the coordinates," Kim declared. "We are in visual range."

"On screen," Chakotay instructed.

A small shuttle looking craft with an orange hull came into view.

"Dreadnought's targeting scanners are active," B'Elanna announced. "Those are not supposed to become active until the missile has locked onto its final target. Dreadnought is heading for a planet in a system ten light-years from our current position. Estimated time of arrival is about three weeks at its current velocity. This planet is a class M world with several heavily populated areas."

"Let's establish communications with the planet," Kathryn suggested.

A few minutes later the authorities on the planet in question were reached. The call was put through to the planet's leading official.

"My name is Kathryn Janeway of the Federation Starship Voyager," Kathryn greeted the strange looking alien.

The alien was humanoid but with no hair on his head and multicolored dark skin. Three ridges ran over his forehead and on top of his head. The central ridge divided his face in half so that the alien's face came to a sharp edge.

"My name is First Minister Kellum, Captain. What is it you are contacting me about?" Kellum questioned.

"Our scans of your planet indicate you have long range tracking capability. Have you been able to see the missile on a parallel course off our starboard bow? We recently became aware of its existence ourselves," the Captain explained, feeling no need to claim any prior knowledge of the missile.

"We had detected it but didn't know what it was until now," Kellum replied. "Your ship's reputation is notorious in this region of space Captain. I find it hard to believe your claims of no prior knowledge of the missile."

"The Kazon have been spreading lies about Voyager since we arrived in this quadrant of the galaxy. They do not wish us to make any allies against them because they feel we are already too powerful. They covet our technology," Kathryn explained. "The truth is we could have just as easily flown on past the missile and the wreckage it has wrought but we chose to seek it out to stop it. We have no reason to lie to you. I was simply informing you of the threat as a courtesy."

"We shall be watching you and will see how your actions synchronize with your words," Kellum replied before ending the communication.

"Are you ready to transport B'Elanna and Tom?" The Captain asked.

"Yes," B'Elanna confirmed. "Dreadnought's shields have accepted my codes."

"Proceed," Kathryn said.

The highly intelligent pair vanished from the bridge. The duo rematerialized inside of Dreadnought.

A computerized voice that was almost identical to B'Elanna's said, "Authorized entry detected, initiating DNA scan." Beams of energy swept over the pair. Harry's routine cloaking tech blocked the scanners from detecting his true genome. "B'Elanna Torres confirmed. Guest confirmed. Hello B'Elanna and guest. The last systems access was on Stardate 47582. Current date is 49447, time 0840 hours. Did you sleep well last night?"

"I slept fine. This is Tom," B'Elanna replied as she walked over to a console. "Activate programmer interface," the hybrid commanded.

"Your presence was not anticipated during the mission. Please explain," the computer said.

"Something has gone wrong with your mission Dreadnought. The Cardassians are no longer at war with the Maquis. Notice that you do not see any Maquis or Cardassian vessels engaged in warfare in this sector," B'Elanna replied as per the plan she had come up with her mate. "If we were that close to Ashlon then battles would be going full swing during war time."

The couple had realized something was severely wrong with Dreadnought's programming and the machine might not take too kindly to being told that. While B'Elanna was keeping Dreadnought's systems busy her lover was quickly accessing the missile's systems via his handheld computer. The severity of the program's malfunction became evident the longer B'Elanna talked with it. Harry realized talking wasn't going to resolve the issue at hand so uploaded a highly complex computer virus to Dreadnought's systems. Immediately the voice died away as the Potter's Moon created program took over.

"Awaiting new commands," Dreadnought's new system announced.

"That's how you erase a computer system," Harry told a surprised B'Elanna with a roguish grin.

"I shouldn't be surprised by anything you do after being with you so long," B'Elanna declared.

"No, you shouldn't," the mage teased, earning a punch on his arm.

"Come on, let's start shutting everything down so we can salvage parts. We are going to have spare parts for years," an excited beauty suggested.

"Indeed," Harry agreed.

OP – Star Trek Voyager – OP – Star Trek Voyager – OP – Star Trek Voyager – OP

"Dreadnought's quantum torpedoes can be modified so that they are compatible with our launchers," B'Elanna informed Kathryn a short time later in the Captain's ready room.

"What about Dreadnought's engine components?" The redhead queried.

"Those components are easily converted to Starfleet specifications," B'Elanna assured.

"We should also run an analysis on the computer systems to make sure any trace of the old system is gone," Chakotay suggested.

"I concur," Tuvok agreed. "Although I have confidence in Lieutenant Paris' computer virus it is only prudent that we analyze a threat since Dreadnought has been brought inside of our shuttle bay so that it can be salvaged in flight."

"A wise idea," Harry agreed. "But there isn't much risk. I personally removed the antimatter fuel for Dreadnought's main weapon and at the same time B'Elanna disabled all of Dreadnought's offensive ship to ship weaponry."

"That sounds like a good plan. You can begin taking Dreadnought apart tomorrow," Kathryn announced. "Now if you will excuse me I am going to contact Minister Kellum and let him know that the threat to his people is over and that we will be proceeding on our voyage home."

Harry later learned from his newest mate that Kellum was most grateful and expressed a complete change in viewpoint from the earlier suspicion the alien had displayed. Kellum's people would be an ally for the Voyager crew should they ever need assistance while in that sector of space from that point onward.

OP – Star Trek Voyager – OP – Star Trek Voyager – OP – Star Trek Voyager – OP

Two days after Voyager had dealt with Dreadnought the vessel's resident wizard could be found looking out one of the windows in the room he shared with his many mates. The women were all off doing their thing at this time. The mage was waiting for something. Harry didn't have to wait long before a massive form pulled into an equal speed path next to Voyager. Only the eldest Potter could see the ship that dwarfed Voyager several times over.

"At last you have arrived," Harry said to himself.

The ship was called Hogwarts. Although the vessel did not looking anything like the ancient magical castle on the outside the interior was quite a different story. Much of the vessel's insides were structured like the innards of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardy. But there were also spaces that were much different than Harry's old school. It was to one of these spaces, the main bridge, that Harry apparated. The sorcerer sat down in a chair in the center of the room where the neural interface was located. Harry closed his eyes and expanded his mind with his telepathy to encompass every region of his personal ship.

Hogwarts had survived the automated journey unscathed. It had been so long since Harry had taken his personal ship out that he had not run its engines at maximum. The sorcerer had instead had the autopilot bring the vessel to Voyager's trajectory in the Delta quadrant over the course of a week instead of in the mere minutes the faster than warp Ten ship was capable of. Of late the warlock had realized it would be a good idea to have the resources of his personal ship at hand should a problem arise. Plus Hogwarts would provide a vast network of support capabilities. At a mental command from Harry from anywhere in the universe an army of wizards and witches could arrive in Hogwarts via wormholes to assist their ancestor with whatever he needed.

Harry spent the next few hours playing on his vessel before returning to Voyager.

OP – Star Trek Voyager – OP – Star Trek Voyager – OP – Star Trek Voyager – OP

Stardate 49301.2…

"Its trajectory is erratic. Our sensors cannot detect any stellar or gravitational fields that can account for its motion," Chakotay announced.

"Are you saying it isn't a comet then?" Kathryn queried.

"Yet it looks just like a comet," the Commander replied.

"Let's have Kes scan it," Janeway suggested.

Kes was contacted and soon arrived on the bridge.

"I am not detecting anything unusual in the comet Captain," Kes announced after a mental scan.

Harry felt something was off. The wizard connected with Hogwarts and had the more powerful scanners begin analyzing the apparent meteor as Kathryn ordered the crew to transport a sample onboard Voyager. Hogwarts quickly detected powerful wards but had some difficulty penetrating the energy barriers. It was only as the sample was being transported over that Harry realized the true purpose of the comet. Immediately the warlock threw up his most powerful stealth fields. It was only moments later that B'Elanna contacted the bridge.

"Captain that transport from the comet brought a man onboard who calls himself Q," the human-Klingon hybrid announced.

"Red alert, I'll be right down," a suddenly shaken Janeway declared.

"Please don't bother Captain. I will treat you to lunch instead," a man's voice came over B'Elanna's com line before Kathryn was transported off the bridge.

The Q were a powerful god-like race that Captain Picard of the Enterprise had encountered several times. The Q were also known to play with mortals. No wizard had ever personally encountered the Q but some research had been performed based off of the feats the Q were known to carry out. Harry suspected he could kill a Q in a one on one battle. But from everything known about the Q the retaliation would be swift. The Q treated time as another toy.

The Q Continuum could erase wizard kind from history before the mages had ever evolved. Harry avoided tapping into any of his higher dimensional powers and instead used his advanced technology to interface with Hogwarts and used its sensors to monitor the Q's activity. If the Q proved hostile then the warrior wizard would act but that situation was a last resort. Several minutes later all the men were banished from Voyager. Harry tracked his fellow male's progress to another dimension. The transporters onboard Hogwarts were capable of retrieving the males if it became necessary.

Harry's personal shield blocked the spell. In order to not draw unnecessary attention to himself the mage activated his personal cloak and vanished from sight and detection. Kathryn and the Q appeared on the bridge not long after.

"Good luck to you all. I really have to be going now," the blonde Q declared.

"Return my crew," Kathryn demanded.

"I'm not really sure how. Hmm…humans," the Q contemplated. "Who would have more recent experience with humans?"

As if sensing the question another Q appeared and demanded, "What have you done now Q? Well now isn't this just fine. Humans are not supposed to reach this quadrant for another century."

"I didn't bring them here. They simply freed me minutes ago," the blonde Q answered the darker haired Q.

"I guess that is what happens when a woman is in the Captain's position," the darker haired Q announced. Harry recognized this darker haired Q from sensory information taken from Picard's Enterprise. "I was hoping Ryker would get this command."

"May I assume you are the Q Captain Picard has reported?" Kathryn queried.

"Has Jean Luc been whispering about me?" Picard's Q said before suddenly noticing the lack of men. "Is this a vessel of the Valkyrie?"

"I had a slight accident," the blonde Q replied.

"You tried to commit suicide again didn't you," Picard's Q accused. A shrug without remorse was all the answer the Q got. "This is why you were imprisoned for the last three centuries," the being declared before snapping his fingers and returning all the male crew members.

Harry deactivated his cloak at just the right time to appear as if he had been returned with the others.

Picard's Q examined Chakotay and declared, "Facial art…how very wilderness of you. Alright Q, we should be going."

"I'm not leaving," the blonde Q declared before raising his hand to twist the universe to his will.

Harry saw this as the perfect opportunity to perform an experiment. As soon as the threat of a Q had been detected the automated systems onboard Hogwarts had been activated to discharge a probe weapon which was being developed to neutralize the threat represented by the Q. The probe was cloaked against all known means of detection, even by a higher dimensional being such as a Q. The probe was already phased through Voyager's hull and was in position. When the blonde Q raised his hand to use his powers the probe fired.

A disruptive field which worked against higher dimensional energy impacted the blonde Q and essentially shorted out his powers. Those powers would return soon enough but the delay was long enough for Picard's Q to react. At the snap of the darker haired Q's fingers the blonde being disappeared from Voyager.

"Performance issues," Picard's Q observed. "That is to be expected after three hundred years without." Looking directly at Kathryn and running his gaze up and down her nubile form the Q declared, "Captain, it has been a pleasure. I like you more than Jean Luc. We will meet again."

With that the Q vanished in a flash of light.

"That was odd," Kathryn declared, summing the whole encounter up.

"Indeed," Harry agreed.

The wizard would describe the experience differently. For him the encounter had been highly informative. The probe had been successful in temporarily neutralizing a Q and had managed to do this without alerting another member of that race. Whether this feat was due to the arrogance of the Q or the stealth systems on the probe Harry was unsure. The mage preferred to think the accomplishment was due to his creation's stealth systems. Even Harry himself would not be able to detect the probe in action if he didn't know exactly how to attune his extra-dimensional senses. If the darker haired Q's assertion was accurate then the eldest Potter would have plenty of opportunity in the future to test his creation out and refine the weaponry.

Stardate 49504.3…

"Commander, I am picking up a distress call on one of the upper subspace bands," Tuvok announced shortly after Harry had started his shift.

"What is the source?" Chakotay inquired.

"A small spacecraft that possesses no weapon systems," the Chief of Security replied as Kathryn entered the bridge. "One life form is onboard with extremely weak life signs."

"Slow to half impulse," Chakotay instructed.

Harry was already doing so.

"According to the bio-scanner the craft's occupant is a Vidiian female," Ensign Kim announced grimly.

"Open a channel," Kathryn ordered.

"No response," Kim replied.

"Given how feint her readings are I doubt the Vidiian woman can answer if she is even conscious," Harry informed his mate.

"Commander Chakotay, notify the Doctor. Mr. Kim, transport the woman to sick bay," Kathryn ordered.

Harry learned about the events that went on in sick bay later from Kes. The Vidiian woman was in a bad way. But the alien possessed a neuro-cortical stimulator designed to supplement the higher functions of her brain. The implant was connected to mostly dead nerve cells. Without quick action the woman would have been brain dead within minutes. The Doctor managed to transfer his patient's synaptic patterns into the holo-buffer before they degraded completely. The Doctor then created a holographic body for the Phage infected woman, a perfectly healthy holographic body. After transferring her cognitive and motor processes to the virtual body the Doctor woke the Vidiian woman, Denara Pel.

"Who are you?" Denara questioned the Doctor.

"I am the Chief Medical Officer of the Federation Starship Voyager. We rescued you from your transport after receiving your distress call. You were quite near death due to the Phage," the Doctor explained.

It was then that Denara noticed her flawless hands. The hands of her physical body were covered with scar tissue from the many different organisms the tissue had been taken from.

"What have you done to me?" Denara asked in surprise.

"I used the undamaged chromosomes in your Cerebellum to recreate your original DNA code and then programmed the computer to project a holographic template based upon that genome," the Doctor explained.

"Holographic?" Denara questioned.

"A three-dimensional projection of light and energy," the Doctor clarified as Denara sat up. "See for yourself," said the physician as he handed the woman a mirror.

Denara gasped when she saw her unmarred face and ran her hand over her cheek.

The Doctor misinterpreted Denara's gasp as displeasure and explained, "Your neural patterns were degrading too quickly. Results couldn't be expected in such a short time so this was the only option I had to save you." Denara began crying, startling the Doctor. "Why are you crying?"

"I'm sorry. I just never expected to look healthy again. I haven't looked healthy since I was a little girl," Denara explained.

"That information will be helpful for your complete medical history. When exactly did you first become sick?" The Doctor queried.

"I was first diagnosed with the Phage when I was seven," Denara replied.

"At what age did you begin receiving replacement tissue?" The holographic male queried.

"About that same time," Denara said. "At first the changes were hard to get used to. But it happened so frequently that I nearly stopped noticing. I never thought I would see myself again," the woman added as she stood and approached her new hero. "Thank you. This is the most extraordinary thing anyone has ever done for me."

"Perhaps you should reserve your gratitude until you realize the many limitations to being a hologram," the Doctor suggested. "We can only exist in environments equipped with holo-emitters such as this sick bay."

"You mean you are a," Denara began to ask when she realized the Doctor was also a hologram.

"I am this ship's emergency medical holographic program," the Doctor finished.

"You are a computer simulation?" Denara clarified in immense surprise.

"An incredibly sophisticated computer simulation," the Doctor corrected.

In truth the Doctor was quite wrong. Harry had been spending a great deal of his free time working on expanding the Doctor's programming. Now the Doctor was to the point where he had ceased to be a simulation and was now a sentient entity composed of light. Neither the Doctor nor the rest of the crew had realized this fact yet but it would eventually become apparent. Harry often let his deep connection to the universe guide him in his actions through his powers and the current evolved stage of the Doctor was the result. Voyager needed a sentient physician in the long run and now the starship had one.

"I'm sorry. I didn't mean to offend. What did you say your name was?" Denara inquired.

"I do not have a name as it was not part of my original program and I have not managed to select one yet. Most of the crew just refers to me as the Doctor. What is your name?" The Doctor responded.

"Denara, Denara Pel," the Vidiian answered.

"Miss Pel, what exactly were you doing alone in space with no access to medical care?" The Doctor questioned.

"I was helping to treat an outbreak of the Phage on Phena Prime. I'm a hematologist," Denara explained. "I was on my way back to my home colony and the journey was long. My condition grew worse on the journey back."

"Perhaps with your skills you can help me with your treatment," the Doctor suggested. "Your synaptic patterns will eventually degrade if we don't eventually transfer them out of the pattern buffers and into your body. I estimate you have a few days, a week at most."

"I see," Denara said the dejection clear in her tone for anyone who was at all emotionally healthy.

Unfortunately the Doctor had not mastered emotions yet.

"Your real body is in stasis. We need to find a way to repair your damaged neural tissue," explained the Doctor while leading Denara over to where her physical body was sedated. This time the Doctor did notice Denara's surprised gasp. "Is something wrong?"

"It's nothing," Denara lied, hiding her unease at seeing the sick vessel she had been trapped in for so long.

"I'm eager to discuss treatment methods," the Doctor suggested, taking the woman at her word.

"Of course," Denara agreed.

The first option the Doctor came up with involved B'Elanna.

"It is out of the question," Harry declared when he heard what the Doctor wanted to do.

The Doctor wanted to remove a small portion of B'Elanna's neural tissue and implant it into Denara's body. The theory was that Klingon physiology would be more resistant to the Phage. A preliminary analysis with a blood sample showed this hypothesis to be true with such a limited simulation.

"Denara," Harry addressed the holographic Vidiian.

"Yes," Denara said.

"How much do you really want to go back into that body?" The sorcerer questioned.

"I truthfully don't wish to go back at all," Denara replied, finding herself unable to lie to the handsome man.

"But you will die if you don't go back," the Doctor argued.

"Not necessarily," Harry suggested. "Doctor there is no hurry at this time. Denara still has plenty of time in the holo-buffer. I want to talk some ideas over with B'Elanna and Kes. Why don't you take Denara to the holo-deck. Take her for dinner and dancing."

"That sounds lovely," Denara agreed.

"Well I suppose it would be educational for Denara to learn about Earth culture," the Doctor agreed, appearing a bit hesitant himself since he did not really have any experience in such situations.

As soon as the two holograms transferred out of sick bay B'Elanna and Kes turned to their boyfriend.

"What brilliant idea is stirring in that head of yours now, lover?" B'Elanna questioned.

"I can transfer all that Denara is into the holo-systems but it goes beyond any Federation science you have learned," Harry explained.

"How is that possible?" B'Elanna wanted to know, fascinated.

"Federation science hasn't yet detected the soul. Kes, I know you have started sensing souls in our training sessions," the wizard clarified.

"Yes, although I have only just begun to suspect it was what you humans call souls that I was sensing," the Ocampan replied.

"Well I know a sort of science that has discovered the soul and quantified it. I need to build a device which will store Denara's soul and tie it to her holographic body," Harry informed his mates.

"Fascinating," Kes responded.

"Why are you telling us this? I get the feeling you aren't going to let us watch you build this device," B'Elanna said, having been the warlock's lover for the longest onboard Voyager and knowing his habits better than Kes.

With a shrug the immortal wizard replied, "I'm not yet ready to tell you all of my secrets but that doesn't mean I can't tell you some of them. As you have probably figured out by now I am not human, or at least not completely. What I am you will find out in the future."

"You are telepathic yourself," Kes stated, certain of that conclusion.

"Indeed," the mage projected into the minds of his two companions with such power it made both women shudder.

"Are you going to tell Kathryn all of this?" B'Elanna inquired.

"When I feel it is time for her to know I will of course tell Kathryn. But right now I would like to keep her guessing a bit longer. I will simply use the old it's a top secret technology logic for the reason why the technology's inner-workings can't be revealed right now," Harry explained.

"Do you have some free time?" Kes queried.

"Sure," Harry agreed, knowing his automated systems onboard Hogwarts would construct the soul container thanks to his mental directions through the link to his vessel.

"Good," B'Elanna said while sharing a glance with Kes. "This little revelation has left us needing a little attention from our man. Some personal attention," the human-Klingon hybrid clarified.

"Lead the way. I do so love to watch you two walk," Harry suggested.

The two beauties did as requested and were not sorry for it when their aroused lover practically pounced on them the moment they entered their quarters.

After his date with Denara, Kes found the Doctor running a self diagnostic because he was concerned his program was malfunctioning. The Doctor was developing feelings for the Vidiian woman. Kes reassured the Doctor that he wasn't malfunctioning and advised the physician to tell Denara how he felt. Perhaps Kes should have been more explicit in her instructions. The Doctor decided to experiment a bit on Denara's physical body in order to see if he could perhaps bring it back into working order while the soul transfer container was being constructed.

"I'm going to try to stimulate your motor neurons," the Doctor informed Denara. "The nucleus-coreartus appears to be functioning normally. And now for the anterior-thalamic pathway," continued the hologram as he got closer to the Vidiian. "By the way Denara, I've been meaning to tell you…I'm romantically attracted to you and wanted to know if you felt the same way." Kes watched on in horror as Denara stared dumbstruck at the Doctor's abrupt declaration. "Is something wrong?" The Doctor asked when he noticed Denara's expression.

"No…uh," Denara responded, unsure how to respond.

Kes could see the train wreck happening and was powerless to stop it. Luckily her mate was nearby and he could feel her emotions. Harry entered sick bay at that moment. Kes transferred the memories of the situation to the warlock at the speed of thought. Acting quickly the mage froze Denara's holo-matrix via a nearby console.

"Doctor," Harry barked with admonishment clear in his tone. "You can't just ask questions like that so abruptly. You need to observe the proper courting protocols. This isn't a romantic situation you are currently in. You especially shouldn't ask such things with another person in the room. Denara is also incredibly shy if you haven't noticed. She has spent most of her life in a body she finds unattractive," the sorcerer explained in a much calmer tone.

"I see," the Doctor replied in realization.

"Come on Doctor. I can explain how to rectify this situation while Kes explains to Denara why you acted as you did," Harry suggested.

"An excellent idea," the Doctor agreed, realizing the pilot was a great resource on the female mind.

Harry unfroze Denara's holo-matrix as he was leading the Doctor into another part of sick bay away from the females. After a long discussion and coaching session the two males rejoined the two females.

"Denara, I apologize for my lack of tact," the Doctor began with. "I have had the error of my ways pointed out to me."

Denara smiled at the Doctor's way of putting his earlier actions and responded, "I understand. I too do not have much experience with courting. When you look like I used to that can happen."

"Denara, I don't care what you look like," the Doctor assured. "I am attracted to you for who you are inside."

"Would you like to go out on a date with me?" Denara asked with a smile, following Kes' suggestion.

"Of course," the physician agreed.

Several days later…

"How is Denara settling in?" Kathryn asked her mate over dinner.

"She is doing well. Denara seems quite happy to live as a hologram," Harry answered.

"It's not like she is even missing out on anything," B'Elanna pointed out. "It still amazes me you were able to give holograms senses like smell, pleasure, and even pain. I know the old holo-matrixes could simulate those feelings but nothing like what you have accomplished. Denara can even have orgasms."

"That's our Tom, amazing," Kes agreed.

"I have stored Denara's body in a self-contained transporter buffer system," the mage informed his mates, used to their antics.

"Won't her signal degrade over time?" Kathryn queried.

"Not in this buffer," Harry assured. "It's a long term stasis technology that is beyond classified."

"Of course it is," B'Elanna agreed with a roll of her eyes.

The holographic sensory techniques were actually something Harry was planning on revealing to the Voyager crew when contact was made with Earth. Loved ones could use holographic avatars to make love over long distances and still experience real pleasure. The projector's nervous system was tied in with that of their hologram and therefore could experience the real touch of their long distance lover.

"Well Denara's expertise is welcome onboard Voyager and I'm sure the Doctor is glad of her presence," Kathryn concluded before the conversation turned to other matters.

Author's Note:

I would appreciate assistance locating a story I read some years ago. It was a self-insert where the author arrived in the Harry Potter universe from his own mundane reality. He assisted Harry with some pretty awesome powers. I remember the author was paired with Hermione but for some reason the author returned home to his mundane universe, never thinking he would see Hermione again. But Hermione crossed over to the author's universe and came for him. I have vague recollections of Dumbledore possibly being told about the author's true origins but I could be mistaken. I don't really remember much else. Does anybody know what story I'm talking about?
