Stardate 51008…
Kathryn, the Doctor, Tuvok, and Harry entered cargo bay two and approached Seven of Nine who was in a regeneration chamber.
"How is the newest addition to our family?" Kathryn inquired.
"At the moment she is stable but it isn't clear how long she will remain that way. Her human systems including the immune system have begun to reassert themselves," the Doctor explained. "Many of her Borg implants will likely be rejected."
"It's time we brought her up to date. Wake her," Kathryn ordered.
A hypo-spray injection later and Seven opened her one human eye.
"Captain Janeway…what have you…," Seven trailed off as she sensed the absence of the Collective. "I can't hear the others."
"The neuro-transceiver in your upper spinal column has been neutralized," Tuvok pointed out.
"You will return this drone to the Borg," Seven replied.
"I'm afraid that is not an option," Kathryn answered. "Try to understand…returning to Borg space would put my crew in danger. I am not prepared to do that. You are being offered freedom from the Collective."
"You will supply us with a subspace transmitter and leave us on the nearest planet," Seven demanded.
"Your human cells are starting to regenerate. You would not survive assimilation again," the Doctor interjected.
Seven's face twisted into a grimace of pain and she clutched at her head. The Doctor drew his tricorder's scanner and began analyzing the problem.
"The first rejected implant," Harry surmised.
"Indeed, the implant will need to be removed," the Doctor added.
"You will suppress the human immune system," Seven demanded.
"Not going to happen," Harry assured. He anticipated Seven's next action and caught her as she thrashed about. "Sedate her," the mage instructed as he held Seven.
"We are Borg," Seven cried over and over until the hypo-spray put her out.

Sick-Bay a few minutes later…
"This armored plating is anchored to the skull with over three million micro-connectors," the Doctor announced. "There isn't time to remove them. The outer layer of the skull will have to be removed itself."
"And that is my cue to leave," Harry declared, having carried Seven to sick-bay.
"Getting a bit squeamish, Tom," Kes teased her mate as the Doctor and Denara rushed about preparing supplies for the surgery.
"I may be qualified to perform any number of surgeries. That doesn't mean I like to do them or see them. Call me if you need my help. Otherwise I will be assisting B'Elanna returning Voyager to its Borg-technology-free state," Harry said.
"Will do," the Doctor agreed.
OP – Star Trek Voyager – OP – Star Trek Voyager – OP – Star Trek Voyager – OP
The plasma relays needed to be cleaned out. The Borg technology was disrupting the antimatter reaction. Harry wasn't there because he was helping B'Elanna but he sensed the power Kes was using in sick-bay and extended his senses to monitor her. The Ocampan was exercising a greater degree of control with her extra-dimensional senses and telekinesis than she had ever shown before by destroying a Borg implant that was threatening Seven's life. Tuvok's response was to suggest that he guide her through a series of meditations designed to explore the depths of Kes' new abilities.
"Alright, we need to remove the autonomous regeneration sequencers now that you have cleared out the plasma relays," Harry informed B'Elanna.
"Lieutenant Torres, Ensign Kim, Lieutenant Paris, you all remember Seven of Nine," Kathryn introduced as she approached the trio leading Seven. "I have asked her to help you remove the Borg modifications. She only has a few hours before she has to return to sick-bay."
"You can start with the plasma relays in Jeffries tube 13 section alpha twelve," B'Elanna suggested.
"I'll keep an eye on her," Harry assured.
"I want updates every hour," Kathryn said before turning and leaving.
"Yes, Captain," B'Elanna agreed.
As he was working Harry glanced off into the distance and focused on where Kes was working with Tuvok. The Ocampan was extending her senses further than ever before. She was peering into the realm of strings and superstrings below the subatomic. She was also pouring much more power into this exercise than she needed to and as a result was warping spacetime. It had the effect of acting like a low frequency spatial disruptor. What Kes lacked in finesse she was making up for in power output. The disruption field died down a moment later before any damage could be done.
"Qadesh…do me a favor and keep Kes from destroying Voyager," Harry telepathically sent to his mate capable of the task.
"I can do that," Qadesh agreed.
"Try not to interfere too much in her natural evolution if you could," Harry added as an after-thought.
Seven and Harry had finished clearing out the first set of relays they would need to run through before reinitializing the antimatter reaction. It turned out Seven knew some very good techniques for restoring systems to a non-Borg state using lower forms of technology which Harry hadn't bothered to analyze in his perusal of the Borg database. He wasn't about to reveal advanced wizarding techniques to the others.
"You must disconnect each sequencer conduit at the insertion juncture," Seven advised.
"Harry, work on the second set of plasma relays in Jeffries tube 15. Tom, you and Seven work on number 14," B'Elanna suggested.
Harry and Seven were working in Jeffries tube 14 for only a few minutes before Seven said, "Lieutenant Paris, I require your assistance."
Harry approached Seven and brought his arm up to deflect her strike with the reflexes of a well trained warrior. He lashed out with his leg and swept her feet. She attempted to hit him again but he trapped her arm and rode her to the floor. Seven was strong but Harry was stronger.
"That wasn't very wise," Harry asserted as he gestured towards the security officer standing nearby.
The communications node Seven had been working near had been too tempting. Harry and the security officer took Seven to the brig before notifying the Captain. Kathryn's little chat with Seven didn't go so well. Meanwhile Kes had returned to the quarters she shared with her mate to take a nap. But she couldn't sleep and had decided to explore with her powers some more. Harry arrived back on the bridge after having finished clearing out the Borg systems.
"Captain, I'm picking up some strange energy readings from Tom's quarters," HK announced.
Kathryn exchanged a look with her mate.
"Kes is the only one there," Harry pointed out.
"She is experimenting with her powers alone," Tuvok surmised.
"Kes, come in," Kathryn said as she tried contacting Kes.
"The bulkhead in that section is coming apart," HK added.
"Increase the structural integrity field to deck three," Chakotay ordered.
Harry reached out with his mind and connected with Kes' mind. He took control of her powers and closed them down as much as he could.
"We need to get to Kes," Harry urged.
Kathryn, Tuvok, and Harry left the bridge. When they arrived at the quarters shared by the quartet they found Kes glowing. Her form shimmered with what seemed to be afterimages of her own visage. She was starting to become transparent.
"What is happening to her?" Kathryn asked.
"She is becoming something more. Kes' body is attempting to shift to a higher dimension of existence," Harry answered.
"Let's get her to sick-bay," Tuvok suggested.
OP – Star Trek Voyager – OP – Star Trek Voyager – OP – Star Trek Voyager – OP
"I have run every conceivable scan short of dissecting her brain," the Doctor announced some time after Kes had arrived in sick-bay. "Her tele-synaptic activity has been increasing. We don't know why."
"For all we know Tom could be right," Denara added. "He usually is."
"For twenty-seven seconds the ship's internal sensors registered Kes' body as being in a state of cellular flux. She began to destabilize at the subatomic level," Tuvok put forth.
"What can we do to stop it?" Kathryn asked, posing the question to her lover more than anyone else.
B'Elanna had joined the impromptu conference as well since she and Kes were so close.
"We can't," Harry replied. "I believe this state is a natural response Kes had from mental contact with Species 8472. She might have developed this far without contact with that species but we can't be sure. Species 8472 has very strong telepathic abilities. Kes' mind was forced to fight off the telepathic invasion of that species when they monitored Voyager's activity while fighting the Borg. Her body has forced her to grow stronger to fight off such threats."
Harry in fact was fairly sure of his conclusion. Alternate-Kes onboard the Alternate-Voyager had not been in telepathic contact with Species 8472 and was not experiencing the same issues as the original Kes. The others in the room were stunned by the genius pilot's assertions.
"Tuvok, increase power to the structural integrity fields throughout the ship. I would like to avoid a hull breach. This is going to get worse before it gets better," Kathryn ordered, having complete faith in her mate.
"The Doctor and I will continue to research Kes' condition," Denara offered even though she had as much faith in Voyager's pilot as the Captain did.
Kathryn nodded and the group broke apart. Shortly after, Seven of Nine decided to start hurling herself against the force-field keeping her in the bridge. Kathryn went to talk to her. Seven was struggling with her reemerging human emotions and figuring out what exactly she was now. Kathryn would guide the younger woman the best she could.
OP – Star Trek Voyager – OP – Star Trek Voyager – OP – Star Trek Voyager – OP
"How are you feeling, Kes?" B'Elanna asked as she joined Kathryn, Harry, and the Ocampan on the couch in their shared quarters.
"I feel at peace," Kes answered, a serene expression on her features. "I know what I have to do now."
"Oh, what is that?" Kathryn inquired.
"It's time for me to leave Voyager," Kes declared. "Something profound is happening to me and I want to explore it. Every cell in my body is telling me that I am changing into something more than I am right now."
"What if these feelings simply are not true? What if you are simply being swept up in the excitement of what you think is happening?" Kathryn posed the question. "You're basing this decision on the basis of a feeling, an intuition."
"Most beings base their decisions on their feelings. Kes is correct in that she is changing. I will keep in telepathic contact with her at all times. She will never truly leave us," Harry told B'Elanna and Kathryn, both of whom looked a bit misty eyed.
"Come here," B'Elanna beckoned while opening her arms.
The Ocampan hugged the human-Klingon hybrid and the other two in the room joined in.
"Now all I have to do is tell the Doctor. He is going to take it harder than you are," Kes said.
At that moment her form shimmered and became transparent.
"It's starting," Harry announced. "We need to get you off of Voyager into one of the shuttle-pods. Your transformation process can be very damaging to the ship."
That said the warlock swept his mate into his arms and dashed out the door. Kathryn got on the com system and began issuing orders to have the shuttle ready to go.
"I don't think I can stop it," Kes said just as the energy began to pour out of her.
The circuitry in the nearby conduits exploded, causing the lights to flicker.
"You don't have to," Harry assured as he began absorbing his mate's energy and ran faster.
They reached the shuttle in another minute and Harry set Kes in the copilot's seat before taking control of the craft and racing away from Voyager.
"You know exactly what is happening to me," Kes said in sudden realization as her eyes enhanced with extra-dimensional senses were now able to perceive more of her lover than she had ever been capable of before.
"Yes," Harry assured.
Kes' glowing form began to glow brighter until the entire shuttle was filled with an otherworldly light. She switched her gaze to Voyager.
"My gift to you," Kes projected into the minds of every crew member onboard Voyager while focusing on some of the newer powers she could perceive.
Seconds later Harry realized what Kes was doing but it was already too late. She had used some of her transformation energy to reach out and hurl Voyager 9.5 thousand light-years closer to home. Kes had pushed Voyager through a layer of the spacetime continuum faster than Warp but at the cost of a great deal of her energy. Harry acted quickly and grasped Kes' glowing form, pushing his power into her.
"Climb Kes, climb," Harry projected into his mate.
The sorcerer helped Kes climb up the planes of existence until she was somewhere below the Q but much higher than she would have been after using up so much transformation energy.
"Thank you…Harry," Kes' eyes widened as she used her mate's true name, sensing who he really was and what a grave mistake she had just made in using part of her transformation energy now that her mind was truly open to the universe.
Kes would have been stuck on a lower plane of existence than she should have ended up on due to using a great portion of her transformation energy to send Voyager closer to home.
"Come on, you can stay on Hogwarts," Harry suggested while directing the blonde to the cloaked starship. "I need to get back to Voyager."
After showing Kes to Hogwarts Harry reappeared on Voyager's bridge. Hogwarts would tow Alternate-Voyager to catch up with the original Voyager.
"Tom, what happened? You were in the shuttle with Kes," Kathryn exclaimed.
"She sent me here to the bridge. She's going to be alright. Her mind is…expanded. It will take her some time to adjust to her new existence," Harry explained.
"Can you tell what it is like?" HK inquired.
"Some…but not much," Harry replied. "It's more than the minds of beings in our dimension have evolved to understand."
"As long as she is alright," Kathryn said, summing up everyone's feelings on the matter.
"Tell her thank you from us for throwing us safely beyond Borg space and ten years closer to home," Chakotay added.
"I will," Harry assured.

Stardate 51044.3…
"Not today, Vorik," Harry heard B'Elanna say to Ensign Vorik in a clearly agitated voice as the pilot entered Engineering.
"Someone could use a bit of relaxing," Harry whispered to his mate as he walked up behind her and passed her a pad. "I brought that helm control evaluation you asked for. Have you decided if you're going through with your Day of Honor ritual?"
"I have and I'm not," B'Elanna replied. "Today hasn't exactly started out very well and I don't think I can handle an obscure Klingon ritual on top of all of that."
"Then I support you," Harry replied simply. "Now come give me a hug so you can relax a bit."
The mage spread his arms. B'Elanna knew what would happen if she embraced her lover. She glanced around Engineering and noticed none of her subordinates were paying any attention. She stepped into her mate's arms and immediately felt a powerful orgasm wash over her. She didn't know what her man was but she loved his abilities and him.
"Two people were out sick when I got here. I had to cancel the fuel cell overhaul. Then an injector burst for no apparent reason. Plasma coolant was thrown everywhere," B'Elanna informed Harry as she held onto him for support.
"Everything is going to be alright. I'm here if you need me," Harry whispered into the beauty's ear.
The two parted and B'Elanna said, "Thanks. I really needed that."
"That's what I'm here for…relaxing gorgeous women," Harry declared with a smirk.
"You are just lucky you're so damn good at it, Paris," B'Elanna mused. "Now get out of here," she added teasingly.
As Harry left, Chakotay was walking in.
The Pilot urged the Commander, "Go easy on her. She is having a bad day of it."
Chakotay winced, knowing how volatile B'Elanna could be on the best of days. Harry later learned that the reason Chakotay was visiting Engineering was to inform B'Elanna that Seven had requested a duty assignment in Main Engineering. Seven was hoping to adapt Borg Transwarp conduit generation technology to Federation systems, a lofty goal indeed. Shortly after he took up his shift on the bridge Voyager came across a foreign vessel.
"It's damaged but functional," Tuvok announced as Kathryn and Seven came onto the bridge. "Energy emissions indicate it probably isn't even capable of Warp speeds. Several dozen life signs are registering on sensors. We are being hailed."
"Open a channel," Kathryn directed. The face of a quite strange looking alien came onto the screen. "I'm Captain Kathryn Janeway of the Federation Starship Voyager."
"I am Rahmin. My people are the Caatati," the alien announced. "I apologize for our appearance and the condition of our ship. Most of our people were assimilated by the Borg over a year ago. We lost everything."
"How many of you escaped?" Kathryn inquired.
"A few thousand spread out over thirty ships," Rahmin answered. "We are all that is left of a planet of millions."
"I'm sorry to hear that," Kathryn replied.
"Captain, I want to assure you. My people were once proud and accomplished," Rahmin said.
"I'm sure they were," Kathryn agreed.
"It pains me to ask…but I have eighty-eight people to care for on this vessel. We need food and medicines. Is there any way you could help us?" Rahmin asked.
"Of course," Kathryn answered. "Send us a list of your needs and we will see what we can do."
"I'm deeply grateful," Rahmin said. "Is there any way you might also spare a small quantity of thorium isotopes? Without them our systems can't function."
"I'll speak to my Chief Engineer," Kathryn agreed.
"You can't imagine what this means to us, Captain. Thank you," Rahmin said.
Kathryn looked around as the transmission ended but didn't say anything. Harry decided he would have to do a bit of digging concerning these Caatati. Something about them didn't sit right with the mage.
OP – Star Trek Voyager – OP – Star Trek Voyager – OP – Star Trek Voyager – OP
Harry found B'Elanna after her shift sitting in their quarters in a pensieve and thoughtful mood.
"Hey," B'Elanna greeted as her mate entered.
Her tone was quiet and withdrawn. Harry walked over and sat down on the soft beside her before pulling her into his lap.
"I know what happened in the holo-deck," Harry informed his mate. B'Elanna had decided to try her Day of Honor ceremony after all. The experience hadn't gone so well. She had ended up storming out mid-simulation. "Are you alright?"
B'Elanna shrugged before saying, "I don't really want to talk about it."
"That's fine. We can talk when you are ready. Just know that I am here for you and that it isn't good to keep so much bottled up," Harry cautioned.
"I know," B'Elanna assured before turning her head and looking at her lover. She stared into his brilliant eyes for several moments before leaning forward and kissing him. Her mouth danced against his lips and her tongue dove against his. After breaking to breathe B'Elanna urged, "Take me to bed."
Harry had no problem doing that. He would cheer his girlfriend up in the best way they both knew of.
OP – Star Trek Voyager – OP – Star Trek Voyager – OP – Star Trek Voyager – OP
While Voyager was involved in synthesizing the thorium isotopes requested by Rahmin two more Caatati vessels showed up. Kathryn requested that Rahmin come aboard for a meeting.
"There are over two hundred people on our three ships alone," Rahmin explained partway through the discussion. The Caatati commander reminded Harry of a starving rat. If the behavior shown in the Caatati computer systems the mage had hacked into was anything to go by the comparison was apt. "Everyone of them suffers from malnourishment. It has been hardest on the children. Every parent sacrifices for their child but even so there simply isn't enough food. If you could hear the crying of the babies…you would have as much trouble sleeping at night as I do."
"Have you considered relocation to a planet where you could grow your own food?" Tuvok asked.
"Of course, but we haven't been welcomed anywhere," Rahmin answered. "Because we have no resources everyone treats us like vagrants, even criminals."
"Are you sure that doesn't have more to do with the fact that you attack lone vessels with superior numbers and take all their resources?" Kathryn asked.
"I don't understand, Captain," Rahmin said, trying to play dumb.
"I hacked into your computer systems. We know what you have been doing," Harry said.
"I'm sorry, Captain…but your people live richly and can spare a lot," Rahmin replied while pressing a button on a communicator in his pocket. Immediately the three Caatati ships opened up fire on Voyager. "You may be powerful but I suggest surrendering before too much damage is done. You cannot defeat three of us."
"Don't be too sure of that," Kathryn replied as she rose and gestured for a nearby security officer to apprehend Rahmin.
The senior crew present rushed out of the briefing room and onto the bridge.
"The Promethium drive is handling the enemy weapons fire nicely, Captain," HK announced.
"Return fire. Disable those ships and especially the communications terminals and any Warp capability," Janeway instructed.
Several quick well placed shots with the phasors were all that was needed. Harry had learned all about Caatati shielding technology from hacking their systems.
"The Thoran magistrate vessels will arrive momentarily," HK informed the other crew members.
The Thoran were a local race which had suffered losses at the hands of the elusive Caatati. Kathryn had ordered the Thoran contacted after her boyfriend had found information about them in the Caatati database.
"Good," Kathryn replied. "Let's get these Caatati turned over and get the hell out of here."
The senior crew couldn't agree more. They were learning the lesson well not to linger in hostile space longer than was necessary. Luckily the Thoran ensured the transfer of Rahmin was swift and soon had the Caatati thieves on all three ships under control. Voyager moved on.
OP – Star Trek Voyager – OP – Star Trek Voyager – OP – Star Trek Voyager – OP
"The spatial geometries of these Transwarp conduits look rather choppy. It should be interesting flying through them," Harry mused as he walked alongside Seven on their way to Engineering.
The blonde's modifications were ready to test.
"You'll have no idea what you are doing. If we attempt to enter one I will have to take helm control," Seven replied.
"I'm a quick study, Seven. Perhaps we could devise a simulation in the holo-deck which would situate me to flying through these conduits," Harry suggested.
Seven was silent for several moments before answering, "That might be possible."
The Transwarp conduits were basically conduits through the layer of Transwarp space which shielded against the harmful mutating radiation Voyager had encountered in previous Transwarp ventures. Unfortunately the conduits slowed the traveler down while in Transwarp but it was still much faster than traveling at conventional Warp speed.
"Lieutenant Paris," Seven began after several moments of walking in silence.
"Tom," Harry corrected.
"Tom," Seven allowed. "I have observed many people on this ship who have negative reactions towards me."
"I'm afraid you are right," Harry agreed. "It will take them time to get to know you."
"You don't react that same way to me," Seven pointed out.
"I'm not like anyone else you will find here on Voyager," Harry assured with a grin.
"No, I suspect not," Seven agreed, intrigued by the handsome pilot and scientist. The two arrived at Main Engineering and began the system preparations. Only half an hour passed before Seven announced, "All systems are ready."
"I only plan on taking a peek into the conduit network. We will open a conduit, get as much sensor data as we can, and then close it up," B'Elanna instructed.
"I have set up a temporary tachyon matrix within the main deflector," Vorik announced. "It's online."
"Engineering to the bridge," B'Elanna said while tapping her com badge. "We're ready to start, Captain."
"Go ahead, we will monitor your progress from here," Kathryn replied.
"We'll need to be at Warp speed to create a large enough subspace field," B'Elanna added.
"Helm control has already been rerouted to Engineering," Kathryn said.
"I'm taking us past Warp 2," Harry informed his crewmates. A few moments later he added, "We're now at Warp 2.2."
"Start emitting the tachyons, Vorik," B'Elanna directed.
"Energizing the matrix," Vorik replied.
"There is no indication of a subspace field. I would recommend switching to a higher energy band," Seven said after several moments. B'Elanna nodded to Vorik and he did so. "The subspace field is forming."
Moments later an alarm began blaring. Seven moved aside to allow B'Elanna at the Warp control console.
"Tachyon particles are leaking into the propulsion systems," B'Elanna called.
"I've shut down the deflector but the leak is continuing," Vorik added.
Sparks flew from a blown relay above the Warp core and the ship shuddered.
"Bridge to Engineering," Kathryn's voice broke in.
"Tachyons are flooding the Warp core, Captain. We are attempting to stabilize," B'Elanna explained.
"If you can't do so evacuate Engineering," Kathryn directed.
"I've cut all power relays but the tachyon levels are still rising," Vorik announced.
"Alright, everyone out," B'Elanna shouted while Seven went back to typing at her console.
Harry's hands flew rapidly across his own console. He began manually configuring the parameters to adjust the Promethium field from where it normally was around the ship to at the surface of the Warp core containment unit. As Engineering began to clear of people a glowing field of orange light materialized around the Warp core.
"What are you doing?" B'Elanna asked her mate.
"I'm attempting to starve out the tachyon cascade that is forming using the Promethium drive. If you don't mind I would like some quiet. I'm manually adjusting the properties of the field to deal with sub-tachyon bursts," Harry explained.
The vibrations and glow of the Warp core grew brighter for several tense seconds. Finally the shuddering in the deck began to flag until the glow faded.
"You did it," Seven said, surprise in her tone.
"You'd best get used to him being able to do amazing things," B'Elanna informed the former drone while the Promethium field was dropped from the Warp core. "Torres to Janeway, disaster averted."
"Get started on figuring out what happened," Kathryn directed.
"Yes, Captain," B'Elanna acknowledged.
OP – Star Trek Voyager – OP – Star Trek Voyager – OP – Star Trek Voyager – OP
"Come in," Kathryn called after a chime came at the door of her ready room.
Seven of Nine walked in carrying a data pad.
"Captain, I believe I have discovered the cause of the accident," Seven announced as she handed Kathryn the data pad. "There were erratic fluctuations in the ship's Warp power. When Tachyon levels rose to a resonant frequency core pressure increased."
"Then it was an accident," Kathryn said.
"Tuvok to the Captain," Tuvok's voice came over the com.
"Go ahead," Kathryn prompted.
"An armada of Caatati ships has entered sensor range heading our way," Tuvok announced.
"I'm on my way," Kathryn replied before heading to the bridge followed by Seven.
The two beauties arrived to see the armada on the view screen.
"Our sensors are greater than the Caatati sensors. I raised the cloak before they detected us…I think," Harry explained. "I also know the weaknesses of their sensors from their database."
"I must advise that staying and fighting would be unwise, Captain. Even with our Promethium drive I would not wish to challenge twenty-seven hostile vessels," Tuvok advised.
Harry worried his mate might decide to stay and fight even though it was completely unnecessary.
"That might not be necessary," Harry spoke up.
"What trick do you have up your sleeve now, Tom?" Kathryn inquired.
"One of the pieces of technology I've been developing for some time now is a Warp field destabilization missile. It can only affect vessels for short distances but it should be long enough for the Thoran to get here and fly in at sub-light. The Caatati won't be able to generate a stabile Warp field. If they persist trying to do so their engines will burn out," Harry explained.
"Ingenious," Tuvok stated approvingly. "Such a tactic would prove most effective."
The others were nodding their agreement. For a certain former Borg her estimation of the handsome pilot was going up. The Borg had never encountered this technology.
"Contact the Thoran. See if this plan is agreeable to them," Kathryn instructed.
OP – Star Trek Voyager – OP – Star Trek Voyager – OP – Star Trek Voyager – OP
The Thoran were able to mobilize a force rather quickly. They had a sizable space fleet. A space fleet was ineffective against the guerilla tactics used by smaller groups of the Caatati. Every time the Thoran had tried to pin the Caatati down the pirates had scattered like rats. As soon as the Thoran armada got close enough Voyager dropped its cloak to distract the Caatati and released Harry's newest toy in the form of a missile. There was a visible ripple of energy which expanded out from the exploding missile after it detonated not far from the Caatati. Voyager cloaked as soon as the wave passed over them and changed positions at sub-light speed.
"They've opened fire," Tuvok announced.
"And I'm dodging," Harry assured as he put Voyager's sub-light engines through their paces, spinning, twisting, rolling, and generally pulling feats that would have killed the crew without inertial dampeners.
"The Thoran are fast at sub-light speeds," HK observed. "They'll be here within minutes."
"I think I can hold out that long," Harry mused, his job made easier by Voyager's cloaked status.
Soon the Thoran fleet arrived and attacked. The Caatati tried to scatter but this proved ineffective. Over a dozen of the ships persisted and their engines burnt out.
"And that's how you deal with rats," Kathryn declared. "Get us out of here, Tom."
"Yes Ma'am," Harry agreed before taking Voyager out of the affected area of space at sub-light speeds and then jumping to Warp. After Voyager was back under way Harry handed the helm over to his replacement and caught up to Seven as she was leaving the bridge, a pensieve expression on her face. "Seven," he said as he dropped into step next to the blonde. "Would you like to join my companions and I tonight for dinner?"
Seven was silent for several moments before she replied, "I would enjoy that."
And she would end up enjoying the shared meal at that.

Stardate 51082.4…
"How has your day been going?" Harry asked Rain and Libby as he sat down in the Great Hall of Hogwarts.
The Great Hall of the mighty starship was adaptable much like the Room of Requirements in the original Hogwarts but it was currently identical to the original castle. But instead of a head table there was a smaller table where Harry often shared meals with his mates. Kes and Qadesh were off having some fun together in some other part of the universe.
"Pretty good," Rain replied. "I've catalogued another four stars this morning." The astrophysicist was using Hogwarts' sensors to take detailed readings of star systems she found interesting. "I've found a few really intriguing stars that behave in interesting ways."
"I'll take a look at your readings later," Harry replied.
"We were also exploring the Hogwarts simulation you created," Libby explained.
Hogwarts was capable of projecting artificial intelligence backed holograms of any wizard or witch its creator had ever met throughout its halls. The starship was much larger than the original castle so the simulation was restricted to the corridors which corresponded with the Scottish castle.
"Yeah…we've been wanting to get to know Hermione, Nym, and Fleur," Rain added.
"We understand why you loved them so much," Libby said.
"Why I love them," Harry corrected. "I love them still."
"Of course," Rain agreed. "When are you going to go back and get them?"
Harry had possessed the ability to travel back in time and retrieve his mates for awhile by this point.
"You can't rush something like this," Harry cautioned. "I want to make sure I don't risk violating causality and get knocked out of my current universe. It would be awfully difficult to get back."
Both women were quite intelligent.
"I can help you with the calculations if you will show me how," Rain offered.
"Me too," Libby agreed.
"This is something I would prefer to do on my own," Harry answered. "You can check my calculations when I'm finished with them. It won't be much longer and I will be ready to retrieve the first three women."
Libby placed her hand on Harry's and said, "We understand, Harry. Take all the time you need."
Libby and Rain exchanged a glance between them. They hadn't talked much about Harry's temporal retrieval project. They had just wanted to make the offer to see if he needed any help. Plus they were really curious. He was being unusually cautious with this project. But they really couldn't blame him given the potential payoff.
"So what else did you learn in the simulation?" Harry queried, changing the subject.
"Draco Malfoy was a real prick," Rain replied, causing the other two to grin.
"With a little prick," Libby muttered.
The dining conversation was more amusing after that.

"So we rigged the security console so that every time Tuvok accessed the internal sensors it would play a little message," Harry explained while Ensign Kim chuckled beside him.
"Live long and prosper," HK said while making the traditional Vulcan hand gesture.
"No matter what button he pushed, live long and prosper," Harry added.
"Naturally nobody was available to fix the malfunction," HK said suggestively.
"So Tuvok had to stretch his Vulcan patience to the limit for the rest of the day," Harry explained.
"I swear you could hear him grinding his teeth from across the bridge," HK said with a grin while everyone at the table in the mess hall laughed except for the Vulcan in question.
"Just when he thought everything was over he went back to his quarters and ordered a cup of Vulcan tea the replicators says," continued Harry.
"Live long and proper," HK finished.
"The first time I ever met Tuvok he dressed me down in front of three Starfleet admirals for failing to observe proper tactical procedures during my first command," Kathryn explained wryly. "My human ego took a little bruising but of course he was right." Kathryn stood and continued. "Over the past nine years I've come to rely on Tuvok's insightful and unfailingly logical advice. For outstanding service as chief tactical and security officer it is my pleasure to grant you the rank of Lieutenant Commander," Janeway announced while approaching the Vulcan and pinning his new rank signifier to his collar. The assembled crew clapped for the Vulcan. "Congratulations, Tuvok."
"Thank you, Captain," Tuvok replied. "Had I known this commendation entailed ritual humiliation I might have declined. However, I accept it with gratitude and will honor the responsibility that comes with it. During my three years on Voyager I have come to respect a great many of you. Others, I have learned to tolerate," Tuvok explained while eying the two pranksters that had just embarrassed him. "As your tactical officer I will continue to do my best to ensure a safe passage home. As a Vulcan, I share the following sentiment Live Long and Prosper."
Everyone clapped again and stood with raised glasses to the Chief of Security. The party broke up after that.
"Tom, can I talk to you for a moment," Chakotay said as he approached the brilliant pilot.
"What can I do for you, Chakotay?" Harry inquired.
"We would like to enhance the Astrometrics lab," Chakotay explained.
While nodding in understanding Harry said, "I expected we would eventually. It hasn't been updated since Voyager left space dock."
"Seven of Nine would like to work with you on this," Chakotay explained.
"I can do that," Harry agreed.
"Seven has agreed to provide us with all the navigational data for this area she acquired during her time with the Borg," Chakotay added.
"Excellent. That should make things interesting," Harry mused.
Just then both men overheard Kathryn being paged.
"Go ahead," Kathryn prompted Ensign Kulhane on the bridge.
"We're receiving an automated distress call five light-years away," Kulhane announced. "You might want to bring the Doctor."
The senior crewmembers present followed Kathryn to the bridge. Kulhane started the message playing as soon as they had arrived. A pale almost human looking figure came on the main view screen with a distressed looking expression.
The alien said, "I'm an HD 25 isomorphic projection. There has been an accident on my ship and my crew is dead. I am alone." The hologram's image fizzled. "Please…help me."
"He's a hologram," the Doctor said in surprise. It wasn't often Voyager had encountered other species in this region of space with holographic technology similar to the Federation. "Ensign, track the source of the transmission," the Doctor directed Ensign Kulhane. Kulhane looked at Kathryn who nodded for him to do so. "Once we find his ship, I'll lead an away team."
"I don't recall giving you a promotion today," Kathryn said.
"Oh, well…I am the obvious choice to provide assistance to a holographic being," the Doctor suggested.
"Doctor, I don't want you leaving Voyager unless it is absolutely necessary," Kathryn informed the hologram. "When you are in a mobile emitter your program is at risk should it be damaged. Denara would be heartbroken if anything happened to you. We already just lost one physician," the redhead pointed out, referencing Kes. "We can't afford to lose another in so little time."
"I understand…but if this is a hologram, one of my own kind so to speak, I'd like to meet him and study him," the Doctor urged.
"Maybe you can Doctor without being put at risk," Harry suggested.
"What did you have in mind, Tom?" Kathryn asked.
"If we send out a Paris-Array equipped probe then I can probably remotely hack into this alien vessel's systems and find out what happened to the crew and maybe even bring this other hologram for a visit," Harry explained.
"That sounds like a much better plan," Kathryn agreed. "Do it."
Harry nodded and left to explain to B'Elanna what he wanted to do. She would get the probe into place and establish a connection with the foreign vessel's systems. Her boyfriend would then do the hacking. Meanwhile Harry went in search of Seven for their Astrometrics upgrade project. He entered Seven's compartment shortly after speaking to B'Elanna.
"Hello, Seven," Harry greeted as he found the blonde climbing out of a Jeffries tube.
"Am I to work with you?" Seven queried.
"Yes, I was told you requested it," Harry answered.
"I was not sure Commander Chakotay would grant my request," Seven explained as she reached the level the wizard was standing on.
"Yes, if this is an agreeable time for you to begin," Harry said.
"It is," Seven agreed. She drew closer to the pilot and handed him a data pad. "I've designed new navigational sensors. Some of the alphanumerics are Borg."
"I can see that. I'm familiar with much of the Borg," Harry explained.
"That is surprising. But surprising would definitely describe you," Seven stated before leading the way to the Jeffries tube they would begin in.
Harry grinned and admired the view from behind for a few moments before catching up and engaging the young woman in conversation.

"Torres to Paris," B'Elanna's voice came over the com as Harry worked in a Jeffries tube with Seven.
"Go ahead, B'Elanna," Harry prompted.
"We have established a connection with the alien craft," B'Elanna announced.
"Alright, give me a moment," Harry replied before drawing out a small disc shaped object and pressing a button on its surface.
The disc hovered in the air and a holographic computer terminal materialized above it.
"Impressive, a holographic computer interface. What is its range?" Seven inquired as she walked around the interface.
"Ten light-years," Harry answered as he began rapidly typing. Seven watched as computer code flashed across the screen. "It has a micro-subspace transceiver built in."
"Very impressive," Seven complimented, her eyes also roving over the male's form and admiring his physique.
Seven returned to her previous task and a few minutes later Harry announced, "Alright B'Elanna. You should have access to the alien ship. Go ahead and begin accessing logs and have Mr. Kim take a look at the ismorph's holo-matrix and programming. Next to us he's the best trained onboard in holo-tech."
"Will do," B'Elanna agreed. "Torres out," she added.
As he returned the holo-terminal to his pocket Seven informed the mage, "I am ready to supply power to the enhanced sensors."
"No you're not," Harry answered confidently.
"I do not understand," Seven replied in confusion.
"You misaligned this optical assembly by 0.5 degrees," Harry informed Seven while indicating a portion of the component she had been working on.
"Impossible," Seven objected.
Harry's smile was amused and the immortal replied, "My dear Seven, nothing is impossible. You are used to having Borg implants built into your perception systems. They also steady your motor functions. I expected this. I have been monitoring your progress as I worked. This is a lesson you needed to learn yourself. Examine the assembly yourself."
Seven did so and after a few moments said, "My humanity reasserting itself seems to have impaired me."
"Maybe to your former way of thinking," Harry said. "But there is a lot to be said for humanity."
As he spoke the mage drew closer to the blonde into her personal space. Seven's breathe caught in her throat as she felt a flood of arousal. Harry leaned over her and then just when it seemed something might happen between them he reached over her shoulder and properly aligned the optical assembly before withdrawing. Seven experienced disappointment. The pilot inwardly smirked.
"Thank you," Seven said.
Harry nodded and suggested, "Perhaps you should join my friends and I in a holo-simulation sometime."
"That would be agreeable," Seven replied. "Let us access the main power supply."
"Ladies first," Harry replied while gesturing towards a ladder that led down another Jeffries tube.
"The social structures of humanity still confuse me," Seven said while she opened a cover to main power and prepared to reach inside.
Harry's hand shot out and caught Seven's wrist, drawing her away from the live conduits and against his body.
"Seven, that exoskeleton on your hand may be able to withstand the five billion Gigawatts running through that power conduit but there's no reason to put the components to the test. If your exoskeleton went bad you might never know it until it's too late. Let's follow the established procedure," Harry urged.
"Alright," Seven agreed as her companion released her. Seven's previous thought processes had been disrupted by the proximity of the gorgeous male working with her. She didn't continue the conversation she had started before he had grabbed her. The pair soon finished up where they were and returned to Seven's compartment. "This node contains Borg navigational data," the blonde explained while she indicated a storage node which she had opened up after the duo had arrived in her compartment. "Unfortunately the proper instrument to extract the node was part of my thoracic assembly which the Doctor removed. I suggest a radical dislocation."
"Alright then, we pull it out together when I count to three," Harry directed.
"Crude but effective," Seven agreed.
"One, two, three," Harry counted.
The pair jerked the node out and Seven drew back her hand in surprise. She had a cut along her palm.
"I've been damaged," Seven said in surprise. "As a drone I would have regenerated within seconds."
"Being human has its benefits," Harry assured as he took Seven's hand and removed a tissue regenerator from his pocket.
A beam of light swept out of the device and passed over Seven's hand. Harry waved the device back and forth until the damaged tissue was repaired.
"Does this make me weak?" Seven asked.
"Not at all," Harry reassured. "It will take some time to get used to. You just need to be a little more careful than you were before. You have the personal shield I issued you. It should keep you safe if you use it wisely. Worrying all the time won't help anything."
"I shall endeavor to follow your advice," Seven said after several moments of thought.
The couple continued to work for several hours more before departing each other's company.

"Hello, Seven," Harry greeted after taking a sip of his beverage.
The mage had been sitting in the galley for only a few moments. He had sensed Seven's restlessness and had been monitoring her as she walked the halls of Voyager. Most other crewmembers were asleep at that time except for those on duty.
"I did not expect to find you here at this hour, Lieutenant," Seven greeted.
"Seven, I've told you to call me Tom," Harry corrected. "What brings you here?"
"I was just walking the ship contemplating human interactions, specifically sexual interactions. It is something I find very confusing," Seven explained. "I have noticed your attempts to engage me in idle conversation and I can also see the way your pupils dilate when you look at my body. Are you in love with me, Lieutenant?"
"Seven, that isn't something you generally ask someone after so little time of knowing each other. True love takes time to develop. I'm quite attracted to you and am slowly developing affection for you. In time those feelings could deepen," Harry admitted.
"I see," Seven replied. "I will try to remember that. Would this be an inappropriate time for us to copulate? I am finding it hard to tell. As Borg we had no need for seduction, no time for single cell fertilization. We saw a species we wanted and we assimilated it."
"Humans do things a bit differently, Seven. I am definitely not opposed to the idea of becoming physically intimate with you," Harry said.
"Excellent," Seven answered. "I am willing to explore my humanity. Take off your clothes."
Seven was surprised at the speed with which her intended mate stood. His eyes took on a new light filled with a burning lust and held her gaze.

B'Elanna opened the door to the quarters she shared with her mate and entered to find the scent of sex prevalent in the air. That was not unusual. Kathryn was already asleep on one side of their man. Again this was not an unusual occurrence. B'Elanna noticed a head of blonde hair on the other side of the pilot in bed and for a moment thought Kes had returned. Then B'Elanna realized it was Seven of Nine.
"So he finally took the plunge," B'Elanna mused as she began removing her uniform.
Tom had been lusting after Seven since the blonde had been transformed to look like a human again. B'Elanna didn't mind at all. The half-Klingon was bisexual and found Seven to be quite attractive. As she finished removing her uniform B'Elanna felt a pair of familiar strong arms wrap around her upper body. She leaned her head back against Harry's shoulder with a sigh.
"Long day?" Harry inquired while laying gentle kisses on the side of B'Elanna's exposed neck.
"You have no idea," B'Elanna said in a quiet voice but not so concerned about waking the other females in the room. It was obvious to B'Elanna that her man had screwed the two women into a sexual coma. He was good at that. "We spent a great deal of time analyzing that ship's systems and the hologram that survived. It turns out the hologram killed all of the crewmembers onboard. Somehow its program became corrupted until it developed a hatred for the biological crew which it referred to as organics. I'm just glad we managed to find all of this out without going over to that ship and without activating the hologram."
"You built a program interface for it?" Harry queried while drawing B'Elanna over to the bed.
The bed was large and there was still plenty of room left for Harry and B'Elanna. B'Elanna sat on Harry's lap.
"Yes. That took a little bit of time. Then we proceeded to question the program while monitoring its interactive subroutines. It was disturbing how much malice the program held for organics," B'Elanna explained with a shiver.
"Forget about that now. We can program the ship on autopilot to fly to its destination tomorrow. Tonight I'm going to make you feel good," Harry asserted.
"I'd like that very much," B'Elanna agreed.
Hours later B'Elanna joined the other two women in a sated coma. She lay on top of him while he was situated between the other two women. All was right in the universe for Harry Potter.
