Grace was in Heaven, she was sure of it.

Lucas' fingers caressed her long wavy hair, disappearing onto her back and waist as they left the soft waves. His hands roamed around her back, pulling her closer against him as his lips kissed her passionately.

She is perfect.

Grace felt her heart thumping so wildly that she was sure that it would jump out from her chest. Her hands sneaked from his hair to his neck and she felt that his heart played in the same rhythm as hers did. She sighed, love overwhelming her as her knuckles ran over his neck, then her fingertips caressed his pulse point.

Grace felt Lucas shiver deliciously in her arms at her touch and her heart sang from joy.

This man deserves the world. And more.

As she sighed, Lucas moved in and deepened the kiss, leaning her against the wall, causing a soft moan to escape her lips.

The sound pulled him back a bit and he looked at her warm eyes, breathing heavily.

"We need to stop", Lucas mumbled silently, but didn't move.

Grace tried to take a deep breath in, but failed miserably. All she managed to take in were a few short gasps.

She leaned her forehead against his, breathing heavily as her fingers found a way back to his dark, glorious hair. She smiled as she felt how disheveled was it under her fingers.

"I better brush your hair before you go back home", she smiled lovingly, adding in a flirty whisper "We don't want our esteemed Governor to have a photo of himself with unruly hair on the front pages tomorrow", as they both chuckled, still breathing heavily, she took a brush from the pocket of her robe and silently asked "May I?".

Lucas smiled gently at her and nodded.

"You most certainly may", he whispered and sighed as she gently started to brush his hair.

As she finished, Lucas gently kissed her hair, closing his eyes, reveling in her softness.

"Tu es ma joie de vivre. Je ne supporte pas d'être loin de toi", ("You are my joy of living. I can't stand being away from you"), he whispered, his lips brushing against her earlobe. He felt her

whole body tremble at his husky whisper and he smiled as he gently started to kiss his way from her hair, over her face and to her neck.

He showered the milky skin of her neck with long, sensual, agonizingly slow kisses, driving her completely mad.

"Lucas", she gasped silently.

This man is going to be her undoing.

The only reply she got was his lips sucking gently on her pulse pont, causing her to close her eyes and fight the moan that was threatening to come out. She bit hard on her lower lip, trying to hold back.

But, as he traced his lips slowly back up her neck, Grace felt her composure failing her.

She opened her eyes just in time when he hovered his lips above hers, teasing her by only lightly brushing them with his lips.

His eyes were dark as the night outside, his pupils shining like the moonlight through the window and she heard him whisper, every word brushing against her lips, driving her completely insane:

"Je t'aime de tout mon coeur", (" I love you with all my heart"), he smiled, knowing perfectly well what his French did to her and loved every second of it

A sigh escaped her lovely lips and he gently kissed her, not daring to turn it to a more deeper, passionate kiss.

He was barely able to hold back and didn't need another distraction.

She is going to be my undoing.

He watched as her eyes closed and he felt so energized by the love she gave him.

He gently kissed her eyelids.

"Tu veux sortir avec moi?", ("Would you like to go out with me?"), he playfully whispered.

That did the trick.

Grace opened her eyes, a smile curling up her lips.

"On a date?", she smiled. Lucas felt his heart melting at the joy he saw in her eyes. He nodded, bringing his fingers up to her warm cheek and cupping it gently. She positively glowed with happiness as she whispered "I'd love to, Lucas".

He nodded, smiling.

"Good. I will pick you up tomorrow at six", he gave her a little kiss on her lips, not daring to go further.

Grace smiled back.

"Sounds good", she said softly.

They stood for a moment, just looking at each other, before Lucas silently said.

"I should go", he gave her one last peck on her rosy lips "I'll see you tomorrow at eleven?"

Grace nodded.

"I'll see you", she said and watched as he turned toward the doors.

Her eyes widened a bit

"Lucas, wait!", she called out

He turned around from pressing the doorknob and watched as she picked up his sling from the floor, came toward him and gently put his hurt arm back in the sling.

His heart tightened at her loving and care.

Grace fixed the sling on his elbow and looked up at his eyes, her gaze caressing his senses.

"I can't let my love exert himself", she whispered, placing her fingers on his chest and gently kissing his right dimple "Good night, my Lucas", she whispered.

He pressed a kiss on her hair and whispered back:

"Fais de beaux rêves et besos, ma coeur". ("Sweet dreams and wishes, my heart")

She smiled as he went outside and closing the doors, Grace took a moment to enjoy the moment.

He loves her!

Grace's smile grew as she put her hands up in the air and gave herself a little twirl.

She tiptoed upstairs and as she went in her room, her gaze immediately went to roses on her night table.

His roses.

Grace went over toward the vase and pulled out one rose.

Closing her eyes, she placed a gentle kiss on soft petals.

I love you, my Lucas.

—--

Lucas closed the doors of his bedroom and leaned on them for a a few minutes. Closing his eyes, he exhaled, his lips curling up in smile.

All his life Lucas was a bit of a loner. His parents were always busy, he didn't have many friends and, following his Father's example, he never played with women's feelings. He knew when some of them admired him, but if he didn't feel something for them, he would politely distance himself from the said ladies, not wanting to use them just for fun.

Elizabeth has shaken his world and he was taken by her the second he laid his eyes on her. He tried to be patient, a virtue he always prided himself with. He told himself that she needed time, that she was still grieving, and he was ready to wait for her as long as he had to.

He was so wrong.

Looking at things from this time and perspective, Lucas knew that Elizabeth never cared for him as much as he did for her.

He remembered how at first she didn't even let him hold her hand, then how she never really stayed away from Nathan. Things only became worse when she started to get annoyed with everything he did. No matter how he tried to show her his love, it was never good enough for her. His gestures of love were thrown back in his face. It got so bad that he started to doubt himself.

She didn't even want him to build them a home.

She cringed at his words of love.

And then she couldn't even find it in herself to tell him how she felt before he needed to board that train.

Why are you apologizing for being the man who feels deeply?

Grace's words echoed in his mind and he laid his head on the pillow, letting out a sigh.

He couldn't believe how much his life changed. How much he changed…or better to say, how much he was back to his old self thanks to Grace.

She woke his playful side back, the one he nearly lost alongside Elizabeth. He remembered how Elizabeth frowned at his motorbike race. She wasn't pleased at all. He remembered how she scolded him for teaching Allie a harmless card trick. She went right in and attacked him because of it.

Then the image of Grace laughing against his chest as Gustave prattled about him not being allowed in the kitchen without supervision came to his mind. That day when he made her his famous hot chocolate. She woke laughter inside him that day after so much time spent in sadness and heartbreak.

He smiled, remembering how she and him crumbled into each other's arms from laughing so hard.

He took a deep breath in, remembering her facial expression when he opened the doors to their own little rose garden.

Nothing you do is wrong. Everything you've done for me took my breath away and showed me how much you care. YOU take my breath away.

His lovely angel.

His Grace with the most beautiful, gentle heart he ever met.

His darling Grace with rosy lips that kissed him back to life and happiness.

His gentle Grace with the eyes that sparkled whenever he looked at her.

His mischievous Grace who teamed up with him in their moments of being silly.

His smiling sweetheart who tried her hard not to burst to laughter at their pranks at Lillian and Gustave and losing it completely the moment he glanced at her or starting to losing a battle himself.

She made him feel so carefree, so boneless the minute she started to laugh.

Oh, how that sound healed his heart!

And the feeling of her in his arms, of her lips on his lips couldn't be described by any word known. There was no poet who could describe the feelings Grace Bennett woke up inside him.

And she didn't hold back. She welcomed his affections, his touches and kisses and gave as much as she got.

Lucas' lips curled up as he thought of his lovely girl.

Sometimes she gave back even more.

To be showered with that kind of love, to be wrapped up in a blanket of her affections healed Lucas' heart completely.

He finally knew what it feels like to be truly loved.

I'll take care of you, Lucas.

Her quick reactions to his pains, concern in her eyes as she helped him to take medicine, her gentle words, her sweetness and her caresses made him feel loved and protected.

I couldn't get used to you getting so seriously hurt. I would take care of you no matter are you hurt, sad or being silly.

And she did.

Dear Grace Bennett - the queen of his heart.

Well I know there's a reason

And I know there's a rhyme

We were meant to be together

That's why

We can roll with the punches

We can stroll hand in hand

And when I say it's forever

You understand

That you're always in my heart

You're always on my mind

But when it all becomes too much

You're never far behind

And there's no one that comes close to you

Could ever take your place

'Cause only you can love me this way

I could have turned a different corner

I could have gone to another place

Then I'd have never had this feeling

That I feel today, yeah

And you're always in my heart

Always on my mind

When it all becomes too much

You're never far behind

And there's no one that comes close to you

Could ever take your place

'Cause only you can love me this way
