Sonic ran outside and found himself in a big field. The view was breathtaking. But Sonic was worried about Zelda. Where was she? "Hello?" Sonic called out, hoping the mysterious voice would answer. "Can you tell me where to find Zelda?" There was no reply, but Sonic saw a figure some distance away. It was wearing a black cloak. He ran towards the figure, which turned out to be a little robot. "Excuse me," said Sonic. "Hi," said the figure. "What can I do for you?"
"Well," Sonic stammered. "I… I heard a mysterious voice and… and I just… woke up from the shrine."
"Hmm," said the figure. "Well, what did the voice sound like?"
"Female," replied Sonic. "With a British accent."
"A female British voice. Sonic, I know who it is!" said the figure. "But, before I tell you, you need to activate that tower with the… is that a sheikah slate?" He pointed to the tablet that Sonic had on his hip. "That's it," replied Sonic. "Well, follow wherever it guides you," said the figure. "And use it to activate the tower when you get to the right spot."
"I will," said Sonic. He followed the Sheikah slate to where the light wanted him to go until he found another pedestal. "That was easy," Sonic said to himself. Just like before, he put the Sheikah slate onto the pedestal. Suddenly, the ground shook under Sonic's feet and a tower appeared under him. Sonic was standing at the very, very top! Not long after, the figure with the black cloak climbed up to the top. "Welcome to the Great Plateau Tower!" he said. "Oh, it's you," said Sonic. "Great Plateau Tower?"
"That's right," said the figure. "This is the great plateau tower. It gives you a great view of the entire land of Hyrule. Look." Sonic did and saw a spectacular view. "Whoa. Look at that," he said. Then, he caught sight of a bright light coming from Hyrule Castle. Along with it was a dark shadow. "What is that?" asked Sonic. "And what's that light coming from? The female voice said I'm the light that must shine upon Hyrule once again." The figure sighed. "That… is Calamity Ganon," he said. "And that light you see is actually the power coming from the princess of Hyrule herself, Zelda. She's the voice that was speaking to you. She's been guiding you by contacting you telepathically with the Sheikah slate."
"So it's true," said Sonic. "Yes," said the figure. "Zelda is using her power to hold back Calamity Ganon."
"I've got to help her!" cried Sonic. "I'm afraid it's too dangerous right now," said the figure. "Let me tell you more."
You were asleep for one hundred years in the shrine of resurrection. During that time, Calamity Ganon has grown in power while you were asleep. Zelda has been doing everything in her power as soon as it awoke. During that time, you were fighting to protect her from the earliest signs of Calamity's rise to power. She and her guards took you to the shrine of resurrection where you began to sleep for a hundred years while the shrine worked its magic. The shrine of resurrection has the power to heal. Its healing magic has untold strength. Your one hundred year slumber saved your life.
"Zelda is doing everything in her power to keep the calamity contained," said the figure. "But she can't hold it for long despite her best efforts. That's why she needs you, Sonic, to help her stop the Calamity. But first, you need to prepare a lot to be in order to fight Calamity Ganon."
"How?" asked Sonic. "By waking up four champions to pilot the devine beasts. And I am one of them. You see…" The little robot took off the hood of his cloak. "I am WALL-E."
"Well, nice to meet you," said Sonic. "I am destined to be one of the four champions," said WALL-E. "I'm the king of Hyrule, which means I am also Zelda's father."
"So your daughter is the one who's holding Ganon back!" said Sonic, excitedly. "That's correct," said WALL-E. "But you have to wake up the other three champions before you can join her in battle."
"Well, where are the other three champions?" asked Sonic. "You can find one in Zora's Domain," said WALL-E. "Perfect," said Sonic. "Oh, and Sonic?" said WALL-E. "Yes?" Sonic said. "Well, since you already woke me up as one of the four champions, I should give you something that will help you on your quest." He gave Sonic a glider. It was brown with golden wings stitched onto it. "With this glider, you can safely glide from place to place. But before you go to Zora's Domain, you should head to Kakariko Village. Impa is there and she has something to tell you," said the little robot. "Now go. There is no time to lose." Sonic nodded, jumped onto his glider and glided away.
