Sabaku no Kitsune: Chapter 28
Kiri Chunin exam stadium: With Naruto, Kurumi and Karin
Naruto's fingers were twitching in anticipation as he waited for the match to begin; Naruto was focusing on his opponent Lee.
Kurumi was steadying her breathing as she waited for the signal to begin the fight; Kurumi was flexing her toes as she looked at her opponent Sakura.
Karin adjusted her glasses as she waited for the beginning of the match; Karin put on her knuckled dusters as she waited, looking at her opponent Hinata.
"Ok everyone, it's time to begin the main event" Katsu's voice boomed "Team Tobi of Suna vs Team Kakashi of Konoha… get ready" Katsu said. "Now then… let the final match of the chunin exam… begin" Katsu said as a bang went off signaling the beginning of the match.
Naruto, Kurumi and Karin all ran forward at full speed; Naruto took our both of his small fans, Kurumi took out her sword and activated her sharingan behind her contacts, and Karin clenched her fists while creating 2 chakra chains.
With Naruto
Naruto and Lee were running towards each other along the walk way; Naruto opened his fans and brought them back "Wind sickle jutsu" he shouted. Naruto swung both fans forward unleashing a powerful wind jutsu towards Lee; Lee seeing this crouched down before jumping into the air over the wind jutsu.
Lee flipped in the air and came down at Naruto with his leg extended in a flying kick; Naruto seeing this closed his fans and brought up his left arm using his gauntlet as a shield. Lee's kick connected with Naruto gauntlet and Naruto felt the shock of the attack run through his body.
Lee not deterred spun around and used his other leg to throw a kick which connected to Naruto's head; Naruto was sent skidding across the ground dropping one of his fans. Lee landed on the walk way in his taijutsu stance; Lee proceeded to kick Naruto's fan into the water in order for him to not be able to use it.
"I apologize for this Menma" Lee said "but I must defeat you I order to win this for my team" he said to Naruto who got back onto his feet.
'I think he knocked one of my teeth loose' Naruto thought as he put up his fan and brought out his gauntlet blade and got into his stance "you gotta do what you gotta do" Naruto said and Lee nodded.
"I see using a weapon" Lee said as he reached into his leg warmers and pulled out 4, 1-foot-long metal pipes; Lee quickly put together and made a 4-foot-long bo staff "I will as well, let us begin" he said.
Naruto rushed forward and slashed at Lee with his gauntlet blade and Lee brought up his staff and blocked the blade; Naruto used this opportunity to punch Lee in the ribs with his free hand. Lee felt the hit but held his ground, Lee brought his staff down on Naruto's hand swatting it away.
Lee then launched several rapid attacks at Naruto using his staff aiming for Naruto's head and legs; Naruto ducked under a strike while using his gauntlet to block another before rolling back as Lee came down and slammed his foot where Naruto just was.
Naruto rolled to a stop and smiled behind his face coverings 'bushy brows, you really are something else' he thought as he got ready 'even so; I gotta win this thing' he thought.
With Kurumi
Kurumi slashed at Sakura with her sword and Sakura ducked under the blade and countered with a punch aimed towards Kurumi's gut; Kurumi seeing this spun on her heels as Sakura's punch missed and she was now on Sakura's side.
Kurumi kicked Sakura in the ribs sending her flying into the pool next to them; Sakura landed on top of the pool using the walk on water technique as Kurumi began to go through hand signs.
'Fire Style: Dragon Flame bomb' Kurumi launched a fire jutsu towards Sakura who began to go through hand signs herself.
'Water Style: Water wall' Sakura created a wall of water to protect herself from Kurumi's jutsu; Kurumi's fire jutsu slammed into Sakura's water wall creating a cloud of steam. Kurumi was about to rush in and use the steam as cover; but before she could do so Sakura rushed out of the cloud first with her fist cocked back.
"Chaaa" Sakura roared as Kurumi put up her guard; Kurumi's sword was swatted out of her hands and was sent flying across the arena.
"My Sword" Kurumi shouted before seeing where it was going "oh shit" she shouted.
Kage booth
"Oh shit" Mei shouted as and the others saw Kurumi's sword coming towards them; Gaara thinking on his feet brought up his sand in an attempt to stop it.
Kurumi's sword hit the sand with a thud before passing straight through; the sword's blade went through while the hilt broke off. Koyuki watched in slow motion as the blade went towards her 'oh no' she thought; the blade neared her before stopping a few inches from her chest.
Tsunade in a burst of speed caught the blade with her left hand which was bleeding "that was close" Tsunade said as everyone let out a sigh of relief; Tsunade cocked her head towards the arena "you idiots" she roared.
Back to Kurumi
Kurumi and Sakura were now trembling from the roar of Tsunade's voice.
'Oh man' Kurumi thought.
' .Up' Sakura thought 'Lady Tsunade is going to punish me later; I just know it' she thought. 'No time for that now' Sakura thought looking at Kurumi.
Kurumi looked at Sakura and got into her taijutsu stance "well looks like I'm doin' this the old-fashioned way" Kurumi said "bring it on pinkie" she said and Sakura got back into her stance.
"Alright then" Sakura said "don't cry now" she said as she rushed towards Kurumi.
With Karin
Karin launched one of her chakra chains towards Hinata who ducked under the attack; Karin sent her second chain towards Hinata who jumped and flipped in the air as the chain passed under her harmlessly.
"Crap" Karin cursed "hold still will you" Karin said to herself as she tried to hit Hinata with an attack; Hinata using her Byakugan and her agility was able to avoid Karin attacks with relative ease.
'I got this, it got this' Hinata thought as she avoided Karin's attacks; as Hinata closed the distance she brought back her right hand '8 Trigrams Vacuum palm' Hinata fired a concentrated air burst towards Karin.
Karin was hit by the Vacuum palm and was sent flying back before she used her chains to anchor herself on the ground; Karin pulled herself back down to the ground just as Hinata neared her. Karin got into her taijutsu stance as Hinata came to her.
Hinata sent a palm strike towards Karin's chest to which Karin side stepped; Karin sent a punch towards Hinata's ribs which connected making Hinata cough out her breath. Karin's knuckle dusters increased her punching power and from the look on Hinata's face it most definitely hurt.
Karin followed up with a haymaker aimed towards Hinata's head; however, Hinata tilted her head and the punch flew by. Hinata grabbed Karin's arm and performed a judo throw slamming Karin onto her back; Karin landed on the ground hard but was still able to fight.
Karin wrapped her chains around Hinata's ankle and pulled her off her feet; Karin hopped on top of Hinata and grabbed her by the neck. Karin began to strangle Hinata in an attempt to knock her out; Hinata began to struggle as Karin tried to choke her.
Hinata in a desperate attempt hit Karin on her elbows making them buckle; Hinata proceeded to pull a move that Lee taught her. Hinata grabbed Karin by the collar and pulled her down; Hinata proceeded to head butt Karin in the face making her nose explode in a burst of blood and cracking her glasses. Hinata raised up her legs and put them on Karin's chest before using them to push her off.
Hinata was coughing while holding her throat while Karin was rolling on the ground holding her nose.
"I *cough* will *cough* not lose" Hinata declared as she got up.
"Whatever" Karin said as she wiped her bloody nose "lets get back to it" Karin said as she brought up both of her fists.
With Temari and Katsu
Temari and Katsu were both in the monitor room looking at the fights while holding each other's hands; the anticipation and nerves were getting to them since Naruto, Kurumi and Karin were seemingly having a hard time against Sakura, Lee and Hinata.
"I'm so nervous" Katsu said squeezing Temari's hand "all 3 of them are taking one hell of a beating" she said and Temari nodded.
"They can do this; I know they can" Temari said to Katsu 'but I'd rather them not take it too far' she thought.
With Naruto
Naruto was hit in the ribs by Lee's bow staff coughing up his breath as Lee pressed on with his attack; Lee then kicked Naruto in the head sending Naruto flying towards the water. Naruto flipped and landed on top of the water as Lee came towards him.
Lee gripped his staff as he rushed towards Naruto; Lee swung his staff at Naruto's head but Naruto ducked under the staff and attacked. Naruto slashed at Lee with his gauntlet scoring a hit by cutting Lee on his leg making him wince and jump back; Lee looked down and looked at his wound.
Lee had a cut just above his right knee, it was bleeding but not badly; but the main part was that it would slow Lee down considerably 'he aimed for my leg intentionally' he thought 'a good strategy for when you are fighting a faster opponent' he thought.
'Ok cool, that should slow him down' Naruto thought as he got ready to attack 'time to end this before it gets any worse' he thought. Naruto ran towards Lee who was now on the defensive; Naruto slashed at Lee who used his staff to block the attack with a resounding clang.
Lee twisted his bo staff and swatted Naruto's hand away; Lee proceeded to thrust the staff into Naruto stomach knocking the wind out of him before pulling it back and swinging it at Naruto. Naruto seeing the bo staff coming towards him; Naruto charged up his gauntlet blade with wind chakra and got ready to defend.
As the staff neared him Naruto slashed at the staff cutting it in half and surprising Lee; Lee however decided to drop his weapon and throw a punch nailing Naruto in the kidney.
Naruto held in the pain as he sent his gauntlet towards Lee who jumped back to avoid the hit; Naruto seeing as now he had room took out his small fan and opened it "Wind Sickle jutsu" Naruto sent the wind jutsu towards Lee hitting him dead on and knocking his guard down.
Naruto immediately rushed towards Lee and before he could even put up his guard Naruto reached into his pouch; Lee was then hit in the right shoulder by something that sent a wave of numbness into his body. Lee stumbled back as he saw a syringe in his shoulder; his world began to shake and he began to stumble.
"Don't worry; it's not poison" Naruto said his voice distorted in Lee's mind; Naruto grabbed Lee and began to walk him to the platform "it's horse tranquilizer; it'll just make you go to sleep and possibly give you a weird dream, trust me I know" he said.
Lee's eyes began to flicker until he went slack; Naruto laid Lee down on the walkway and nodded "you did good bushy- "before Naruto could finish Lee unconsciously punched him in the face "gah, damn it" Naruto shouted as he grabbed his nose which was bleeding from behind his face coverings. "Ow man, even unconscious his attacks hurt" Naruto whined.
With Kurumi
Kurumi ducked under anther punch from Sakura but was greeted with an uppercut which made her vision go blurry; despite using her sharingan Kurumi was getting her ass handed to her by Sakura.
Sakura kicked Kurumi in the chest sending her stumbling back a few feet; Sakura took this opportunity to go through hand signs to cast a genjutsu on Kurumi. 'Internal inversion' Sakura thought as the genjutsu she casted will throw off Kurumi's sense of balance; Sakura rushed towards Kurumi ready to finish her off.
However unknown to Sakura, Kurumi's sharingan already disrupted the genjutsu and saw Sakura coming towards her; Sakura threw a punch at Kurumi and to her surprise Kurumi ducked under and performed a sweeping kick on Sakura knocking her off her feet.
Kurumi followed up with an axe kick which hit Sakura directly in the stomach making her cough up a little blood; Kurumi smiled at this before Sakura grabbed her foot and gripped it tight.
Sakura while on the ground swung Kurumi into the pool next to her face first at a fast speed; the impact to the water to Kurumi felt like she was slacked with a slab of concrete. Kurumi swam to the walk way and climbed up; Kurumi began to cough up water as she got up to her feet.
'Shit' Kurumi thought as she got up and looked to Sakura who got back into her taijutsu stance 'I can't give up now' she thought.
With Karin
Karin threw a punch at Hinata who blocked and countered with a strike of her own; Karin brought up her arm and blocked the attack. Hinata kicked Karin in the chest sending her stumbling back a few feet; Hinata charged at Karin but Karin was prepared.
Karin sent her chains towards Hinata who jumped from side to side avoiding Karin's chains; Karin cursed as she failed to land a single blow with her chains. However, Karin decided to do something she has never done before.
Karin brought back one of her chains while keeping one extended; Karin launched both chains towards Hinata with her extended one coming high like a clothesline and while the one she brought back was at knee level.
Hinata seeing this with her Byakugan analyzed and timed the chains as they neared her; Hinata jumped at nearly horizontal with the ground as the lower chain cut her pantleg and the chain above her cut the back of her jacket.
Karin seeing this rushed in with her fist clenched on her knuckle duster; Hinata saw this but could not counter as she was punched in the ribs by Karin.
Hinata was knocked into the water by Karin who jumped and stood on the water waiting for Hinata to get back up; a few seconds later Hinata got back up and began to charge her hands with chakra.
'I have to do this' Hinata thought as the chakra formed around her hands; the chakra took the shape of 2 lion heads 'twin lion fists'.
Karin seeing this through her broken glassed charged her knuckle dusters with chakra; water from the pool began to rise up and form around her hands 'lets end this' Karin thought.
Both Karin and Hinata ran at each other at full speed and cocked back their hands; both Karin and Hinata's right fists collided and the effects of both jutsu hitting each other sent a shockwave throwing up water. Karin and Hinata feeling the impact both raised their left fists and simultaneously attacked.
Karin punched Hinata in the face cocking her head to the side while Hinata landed her attack on Karin's chest making her cough up blood; both girls fell down into the water as both had taken each other out.
'Shit; I can't move' Karin thought as she began to sink to the bottom; she looked to her side and saw an unconscious Hinata get grabbed by someone.
A Kiri Anbu who was hiding in the water for such a situation grabbed Hinata and put a breathing devise on her; Karin felt a hand grab her and saw the mask of a Kiri anbu. The anbu put a mask on her as well as Karin's world began to grow dark.
'Naruto…Kurumi…good luck' Karin thought as she lost consciousness.
With Naruto
"Karin, Hinata" Naruto said as she looked into the pool; Naruto saw 2 Kiri anbu grab both Hinata and Karin and put breathing devises on them "good job girls" he said as he turned around and ran to where Kurumi was fighting. 'Is Kurumi done yet' Naruto thought; Naruto ran to the other side of the arena and stopped in place.
Kurumi was on the ground unconscious with Sakura checking her pulse "she's fine, just knocked out" Sakura said as she stood up and rubbed her jaw "she hits hard; but not as hard as I can" she said as she walked onto a nearby pool.
Naruto seeing this followed her onto the pool as both stood across from each other "looks like it's just you and me" Naruto said as he brought out his gauntlet blade.
"It seems that way" Sakura said as she took out a kunai and got into a stance "let's make this a battle to remember; what do you say Menma" Sakura said and Naruto nodded.
"You're on" Naruto said "lets finish this thing" he said with excitement.
