Sabaku no Kitsune: Chapter 34
Kiri; Mizukage tower: With Gaara, Kankuro, Kurumi, Mei, Konan and Katsu
Gaara, Kankuro and Kurumi were in a meeting with Mei, Konan and Katsu in order to discuss alliance issues and complaints. So far the talks were going good.
"As of a month ago Kiri's shinobi have been issued the chakra armor from Spring country" Mei said to Katsu who nodded "so far the response has been good; the rise of chest injuries has increased significantly".
"How is that a good thing" Kurumi asked and Katsu looked at her with a smug look.
"It means less people are being killed by attacks to the chest" Katsu said and Kurumi blushed in embarrassment.
"Oh… right" Kurumi said and Konan chuckled.
'Reminds me of Yahiko' Konan thought "speaking of which; when will Ame and Suna receive their armor".
"Soon" Katsu said "we have to make alterations due to differing climates; Suna's have to take into account the blistering heat while Ame has to deal with the rain which could cause rust". "Much like how Kiri's is altered to handle the humidity to prevent mold and rust" Katsu said and Gaara nodded.
"I much look forward to receiving the armor" Gaara said "if it will give Suna an edge against our enemies it will be worth the price".
"How are we doing on logistics" Kankuro asked "will we have-"; Kankuro began to speak until the doors to the room slammed open and an anbu ran in.
"Lady Mei; it's an emergency" the anbu said running up to Mei "a coup has erupted in Konoha; the fifth Hokage has been deposed and all loyal to her are fleeing to Suna". Everyone in the room went wide eyed and Mei stood up.
"Go find Ao and tell him to get everyone" Mei ordered "I want every anbu, jonin and chunin not wounded in full battle gear in the next two hours; and get a ten man anbu team for lord Gaara, Katsu and Konan to escort them back to their home counties".
"Yes mam" the anbu said before running out of the room; everyone got up and began to exit the room at a quick pace.
"I'll ready up my shinobi; good luck" Mei said before rushing away.
"I need to inform lady Koyuki" Katsu said before running up and hugging Gaara, Kurumi and Kankuro "stay safe"; Katsu turned away and left the tower.
"I'll inform Nagato" Konan said to Gaara before sighing "this unfortunately will be our third war"; Konan walked away leaving Gaara and his group alone.
"I hope Naruto is handling the situation" Gaara said "we need to get back ASAP".
Suna Desert: With Kakashi's team, Ebisu's team and Tsume's team
Kakashi was carrying an unconscious Hinata over his shoulder as he was being led to Suna; after he crossed the border he was intercepted by a squad of Suna shinobi one of which he recognized. Tobi was leading the group while humming a light tune in order to lighten up the mood.
When Kakashi and his group began their march to Suna they ran into both Tsume's team and Ebisu's team; so far the group consisted of himself, Hinata, Guy, Lee, Anko, Tsume, Hana, Konohamaru, Moegi, Udon and Ebisu.
"Don't worry Kakashi" Obito said in his Tobi voice "we'll get you help; our Kazekage would love to be of assistance".
Kakashi not feeling so up beat nodded "I hope so" Kakashi said 'Sakura… please be safe'.
After walking for a few hours the group spotted the walls of Suna and everyone let out a sigh of relief "okie dokie everyone; just give me a minute with he guards and I'll get you in" Obito said as he walked over to the gate guards.
"Kakashi, are you ok" Anko asked and Kakashi shook his head.
"Sensei is probably spinning in his grave right now" Kakashi said with a tired expression " the village he loved and died to protect has fallen". 'Not to mention killed his son and sullied his legacy' Kakashi thought.
Kazekage tower: A 30 minutes later
Obito led Kakashi and his group through the Kazekage tower as everyone was wondering why they were there; Hinata who was now awake was rubbing her temples as she had a headache.
"Mr.Tobi" Hinata said speaking up.
"Yes, little missy" Obito said.
"You said that the Kazekage was outside the village and his temporary replacement is running the village" Hinata said and Tobi nodded "who is he, you never said his name".
Tobi laughed a hearty laugh and spoke "you'll see soon enough sweetie" he said making everyone skeptical; as they turned a corner everyone saw Sakura and Kurenai standing outside a room.
"Sakura" Kakashi said as he quickly rushed forward; Sakura ran over and gave him a hug "that god you made it; I-".
Kakashi began but stopped when he saw the look on her face "Kakashi" Sakura said in a haze "you won't believe who's here". Sakura grabbed Kakashi's hand and dragged him into the room with everyone following behind him.
"Sakura what are you-" Kakashi began but paused as he stopped in place and so did everyone else as they all were shocked at what they saw. Tsunade and Temari were standing on either side of a someone who they haven't seen in nearly 3 years; Naruto was leaning up against a desk with a smile of both happiness and regret on his face.
"Hey Kakashi sensei" Naruto said with a weak smile "it's been a while".
"N-Naruto" Kakashi said floored.
"Boss" Konohamaru said as tears began to fall from his eyes.
Hinata seeing her long time crush still alive passed out with Kurenai catching her before she hit the floor.
"Wow, Hinata still faints" Naruto said mildly surprised "I thought she'd grow out of that"; Kakashi stumbled forward and walked until he was in front of Naruto. Kakashi grabbed Naruto and began to feel him "Uhh Kakashi sensei" Naruto said confused.
Kakashi stepped back and made a hand sign "Kai" Kakashi said flaring his chakra to disrupt any genjutsu in the area; upon seeing there was nothing different Kakashi spoke "this… this is real" he said and Naruto nodded.
"Yep it is" Naruto said "and thats not all… Tobi sensei"; Naruto pointed to 'Tobi' who nodded as he reached up and grabbed his mask.
Obito removed his mask revealing his scarred face shocking Kakashi, Kurenai, Anko, Ebisu, Guy and Tsume "Obito" Kurenai shouted in disbelief.
"No damn way" Anko said wide eyed.
Obito smiled and looked over to Kakashi and spoke "hey Kakashi, good to see you again" Obito said and Kakashi began to walk towards him wide eyed.
"Obito" Kakashi said and Obito smiled; "Obito" Kakashi said in an angrier tone and began to run towards him.
"Kakashi" Obito said confused; Kakashi proceeded to tackle Obito and wrap hands around his neck and began to strangle him.
"You've been alive all this time" Kakashi shouted "i mourned for you, Sensei mourned for you, I'll fucking kill you" as he squeezed tighter.
"I'm… sorry" Obito said while being strangled; Sakura and Guy all ran over and grabbed Kakashi and began to pull him off.
"Kakashi, calm the hell down" Sakura said holding his right arm.
"Kakashi, I get you're angry; but please control yourself" Guy said as he pulled Kakashi back by his left arm.
"Fine" Kakashi said as he calmed down "Naruto… Obito; you both have a very good reason for being alive right now".
Naruto gulped as he looked at everyone who was looking at him with anticipation; Naruto sighed and nodded "it all started after the mission to bring Sasuke back" Naruto said "while i was in the hospital-".
Time skip: 2 hours later.
"- And I've been in charge since Gaara left to Kiri; although he should be back in a few days… hopefully" Naruto said as he finished his long story.
Everyone in the room was floored at everything Naruto said; Naruto told about how he killed Ino and her root shinobi when they attacked a village and kidnapped the children, how he met Obito in the land of Tea and how he's been living under the radar up until now.
"Lady Tsunade; how long have you know about this" Sakura asked Tsunade who looked down in disappointment.
"I found out about a month after he 'died'" Tsunade said using air quotes "and that was only because Naruto screwed up on that mission and Jiraya found him first".
"How could you not tell me" Sakura shouted "I'm your student, I'm one of the few who actually defended Naruto; how could you do this to me".
Tsunade heard the sound of betrayal in Sakura's voice and was about to answer but Naruto beat her to it.
"Because I asked her to" Naruto said making Sakura look at him "what would that have done; if anyone else found out then I'd have another target on my back, same with Suna". "I just wanted to live here in peace; hell I've been here for only three years and I'm treated her way better than I was in Konoha" Naruto said before looking at Anko "you get what I'm talking about, right Anko sensei".
Anko nodded her head at this "Yeah… I understand" Anko said "Konoha treated me like shit because of Orochimaru; if i could've started over, I would've" she said and Naruto nodded.
"See; exactly" Naruto said "here I haven't had rocks thrown at me, or my house vandalized, or beaten on my birthday, or blamed for killing a traitor leaving the village". "Suna is more my home than Konoha ever was" Naruto said crossing his arms "and I'll be glad to see all those assholes in Konoha pay when Suna and the others are done with it".
"Wait what do you mean" Kurenai said speaking up "aren't you going to fight".
"Naruto has sacrificed enough" Temari said "he saved two villages, two countries and lived a lifetime of crap that took me and my siblings years to reverse". "Naruto has earned the right to sit this one out" Temari said.
"What about becoming Hokage" Konohamaru asked "that was your dream right Boss".
Naruto looked to Konohamaru with a sad smile "I think my dream died when i did" Naruto said breaking Konohamaru, Sakura, Kakashi and Hinata's hearts all at once. "But I'm happy now; and I'll help however I can" Naruto said smiling at everyone.
"I think it'll be best if we find a place for everyone to stay" Obito said to Naruto who nodded "I'll take Kakashi, Sakura, Kurenai and Anko; I'm sure my wife will love to have you all".
"Thanks Obito" Kakashi said "but I'm still pissed at you".
"Yeah… I know" Obito said with his head down.
"Granny Tsunade, Konohamaru, Udon and Moegi can stay with me" Naruto said with a smile; Tsunade nodded and smiled as well.
"Thank you Naruto" Tsunade said in appreciation.
"I can arrange for the rest of you to sleep in the Suna Barracks" Temari said "it's not a five star hotel but it has beds, hot water and a toilet".
"Sounds good to me" Tsume said cracking her neck "I can use a good nap after today".
"Great; let go and get you all settled" Naruto said as he began to lead everybody out of the room; as soon as they were in the hall way both Tsume and Anko looked at Naruto and smirked.
'Blondie grew up to be quite the hottie' Anko thought while licking her lips 'he's younger than me but… that's no problem'.
'Pup grew up into a real piece of man candy' Tsume thought biting her lip 'he's as old as my son though… but age isn't an issue to me' she thought.
"Sooooo Naruto" Anko said rushing up and grabbing his arm "you know any good drinking spots around here; if so maybe you could take me to one and we can… talk" she said as she leaned up against him making him blush.
"Uhhh well I-" Naruto began until he felt someone grab his other arm; Naruto looked over and saw Tsume there with a devilish smile.
"Sorry Anko but I'm going to need Naruto here to show me to my bed" Tsume said with a smirk before leaning in and whispering "and maybe help me break it in" she said.
Naruto turned beet red since both Anko and Tsume are trying to seduce him; however it all stopped when a wave of malice appeared behind them.
Naruto, Tsume and Anko turned and saw a furious Temari who rushed forward and grabbed Naruto away and wrapped her arms around him "back off whores; he's my man" she said and both Anko and Tsume growled. "Come on baby; lets leave these old desperate ladies to reflect on their actions" Temari said and Naruto nodded.
"S-sure babe" Naruto said nervously as he and Temari walked away with Tsunade, Konohamaru, Udon and Moegi in tow 'I'm really glad she's not mad at me'.
"Damn girl; who's she-" Anko began until Kurenai grabbed her by the ear and began to pull her away.
"We just lost our home, reunited with 2 of our presumed dead comrades and all you can think about is sleeping with one of them" Kurenai chastised as she pulled Anko away "you need to think about your priorities".
"Ow, ow, ok, I'll do better" Anko whined and Tsume chuckled.
"Mom, gross" Hana whined "he's younger than me; that's so wrong". Tsume scoffed at this.
"Please; don't be such a prude" Tsume said ignoring her daughter disgust.
'Oh come on, age gaps are not that big of a deal' Sakura thought 'I love my Kashi for who he is and thats that's.
'I'm kind of glad me and Sakura have an age gap' Kakashi thought 'when I'm old and wrinkly she'll still be pretty… or at least decent looking'.
Later that Night; Naruto and Temari's house: With Temari, Tsunade and Moegi; on the patio
Naruto, Konohamaru and Udon were all inside watching a movie on the tv while Tsunade, Temari and Moegi were all sitting outside at the patio table.
"So Temari" Moegi said gaining her attention "what is Naruto like as a boyfriend; like give us details" she asked and Temari smiled.
"He's a mixed bag of many things" Temari said "he's sweet, brave, strong, handsome; but also dumb, gross, childish and naive". "It all blends together to make him perfect in my eyes" Temari said and Tsunade chuckled.
"Really; what was the most embarrassing thing he's done to you" Tsunade asked and Temari blushed "is it bad".
"On a scale of one to ten, I'd say it's a five" Temari said "you see about two years ago-"
Flashback (2 years ago): Kazekage manor
"Here you go babe" Naruto said as he placed down a bowl of ramen in front of her "a special one of a kind ramen bowl I made specifically for you; happy anniversary".
Temari looked down at the bowl of ramen and saw the contents; whole grain noodles, ground pork, 2 eggs, 6 shrimp, corn, carrots and other vegetables in a creamy pork broth.
"Oh my god this looks so good" Temari said genuinely impressed "how long did it take you to make it" she asked and Naruto smiled.
"Four hours" Naruto said as he poured her some sake "enjoy" he said and Temari eagerly picked up some chopsticks.
"Don't mind if i do" Temari said as she began to slurp down the food; about 20 minutes later Temari finished the meal with a sigh "that was good; I especially liked that ground pork you put in there" she said and Naruto looked confused.
"Huh, that wasn't pork, it was squid that I diced up and sautéed " Naruto said and Temari went wide eyed "what, what's wrong" Naruto asked as Temari paled.
Temari's stomach began to rumble as she felt her stomach drop as she looked at Naruto "I'm allergic to squid" she said she crossed her legs. "Oh god" Temari said as she got up and sprinted to the bathroom and Naruto chased after her "don't follow me you idiot" Temari said as she ran into the bathroom and locked the door.
"Temari wait what's-" Naruto began until he heard horrific nosies from inside and he jumped away 'oh man… this isn't good' Naruto thought.
20 minutes later Temari came out of the restroom holding her stomach and walking slowly; Temari was significantly paler and looked weak as she walked out.
"Temari you're out" Naruto said walking up "I was so- HOLY HELL, IT SMELLS LIKE YOU SLAUGHTERED A COW IN THERE". Naruto covered his nose as Temari looked at him in annoyance.
"This is why I don't eat squid or octopus" Temari said as she walked to the kitchen "i need some water" she said.
Flashback end
"And thats the story of when my boyfriend gave me Diarrhea on our one year anniversary" Temari said and both Tsunade and Moegi looked at her in disgust.
"Oh my god" Tsunade said.
"Nasty" Moegi said and Temari nodded.
"Yeah; it wasn't pretty" Temari said with a chuckle "But still, he didn't know, I don't blame him". "Besides; he got me ginger ale and rubbed my stomach all night until i felt better" Temari said with a smile "even when he's a complete dumbass, he's still the sweetest man I could've ever gotten".
Tsunade and Moegi both smiled at this as they continued their girl talk; Naruto however was around the corner listening and smiled as he heard this.
'And even when you're the scariest woman in the world you are still the most loving woman I could've hoped for ' Naruto thought as he quietly slipped inside.
Obito's house: With Obito and Sango
Obito was in bed getting ready to go the sleep as Sango wandered around the room "hey thanks for letting Kakashi and the other stay here" Obito said "I know it's sudden but-".
"But nothing" Sango said "you're helping out a friend; that's all that matters" Sango said as she picked up some blankets.
"Where you going" Obito asked and Sango smiled.
"Just giving the other some extra blankets" Sango said as she walked out; Sango walked into the living room and saw both Kurenai and Anko asleep on the fold out couch. Sango dropped a blanket onto both women before going down the hall to guest room where Kakashi was sleeping before going to Kurumi's room to give one to Sakura.
Sango opened the door slightly and was about to speak but stopped; Sango saw both Kakashi and Sakura naked under the covers with Kakashi on top. Kakashi and Sakura were kissing as Kakashi slowly moved his hips under the blankets and Sakura moaned softly.
"Oh Kakashi" Sakura said softly as she wrapped her arms around his neck "I love you".
"I love you too" Kakashi said back before burying his face into her neck making her gasp; Sango quietly closed the door and put the blankets on the floor next to the door before she began going back to her room.
'I… Guess it's a good thing they're not doing it in Kurumi's bed' Sango thought as she walked away.
Suna Barracks: With Lee
Lee was walking in the middle of the night in order to clear his head; Neji his rival and one time friend has turned his back on him and Guy sensei 'Neji… what is going through your head' he thought.
As Lee turned around the corner of the barracks he saw a figure sitting on a rock with their head in their knees; Lee walked closer and realized who he was looking at "Hinata? Is that you".
Hinata's head shot up and she looked at Lee; Hinata had tears running down her cheeks and Lee winced at the sight "Lee… what are you doing up" Hinata asked wiping away her tears and Lee walked over and sat down next to her.
"I was taking a walk, to clear my head" Lee said as he looked at her "what are you doing out here so late".
"I…I'm worried about Hanabi" Hinata said "Kakashi sensei told me that she stayed to fight Neji; she's strong but not strong enough to beat him even if i help her". "I-I'm just holding out hope that she escaped and is trying to make her way here" Hinata said.
Lee smiled and wrapped his arm around Hinata bringing her in for a tight hug shocking her; Lee broke the hug and looked at Hinata with his gleaming smile "Don't worry Hinata; we'll find Hanabi and bring her here". "And if not I'll go to Konoha myself and get her" Lee said and Hinata smiled at this.
"Thank you Lee; I appreciate your enthusiasm" Hinata said "Umm… Lee; can you stay out here with me for a little while".
Lee nodded at this "sure thing Hinata; it would be my pleasure" he said as he looked up at the stars with Hinata.
The next morning; Naruto and Temari's house: With Naruto and Temari
Naruto was lying in bed looking at Temari sleeping; Temari's sandy brown hair was wild and messy covering her face as she snored lightly. Naruto scooted over and moved the blankets revealing Temari was only sleeping in a tank top and her underwear.
Naruto moved his hand over and began to rub her butt making Temari stir; Temari opened her eyes and saw Naruto smiling like and idiot and she giggled.
"My regular wake up call" Temari asked and Naruto nodded.
"You know it" Naruto said before squeezing her ass "I swear your ass gets softer and softer every time I grab it".
Temari rolled her eyes and slapped Naruto's hand away "keep it in your pants buddy" Temari said getting out of bed "I swear you're-". Temari was interrupted when she heard rapid knocking at the door; Naruto shot up out of bed and grabbed his gauntlet.
"What the hell is that" Naruto said as he ran towards the front door in only his pajama pants; Naruto ran past Tsunade's room and her door opened revealing Tsunade wearing one of Naruto's T-shirts and his gym shorts.
"Naruto; what's going on" Tsunade asked as she ran to the front door with him.
"I don't know" Naruto said as he reached the door; Naruto flung the door open revealing Kurumi standing there "oh thank god Kurumi; you made it back safe ". "I was hoping you'd make it back soon but I-" Naruto began until he realized the look of horror on her face "what wrong".
Tsunade and Temari both were behind Naruto and they saw the looks on Kurumi's face and felt a sense of dread wash over them.
"Kurumi; what is it" Tsunade asked worried and Kurumi looked at them all.
"Get dressed; I'll show you" Kurumi said with a far away look in her eyes.
Outside Suna: With Naruto, Temari, Tsunade and Kurumi
Naruto, Temari and Tsunade were following Kurumi out the front gate confused on what was going on "Naruto" came a voice and Naruto turned around.
Naruto saw Kakashi running up with Sakura, Kurenai, Anko, Hinata and Lee with Gaara and Kankuro leading them.
"Kakashi sensei" Naruto said as Kakashi and his group joined Naruto "what's going on".
"Just follow us Naruto" Gaara said in his monotone voice but with more sorrow in his voice making Naruto flinch; Naruto and the other began to follow Gaara outside Suna. They walked for about 15 minutes until they saw 11 figures standing on the top of a hill.
"What the hell" Naruto said as he got ready for a fight until one of the figures walked forward; the figure came into view and Naruto saw it was Jiraya "huh, pervy sage; what's going on". Jiraya didn't saw anything as he made everyone focus on the 10 other figures on the hill.
"I'm sorry kid" Jiraya said flatly; Naruto and the others rushed forward until they stopped a few feet away and everyone had differing reactions at what the saw. 10 heads were stuck to pikes but they were not any heads.
Hinata collapsed to the ground as she saw the head of her sister Hanabi with her eye sockets empty; Hinata began to wail in agony until Lee ran up and grabbed her by the waist.
"Don't look Hinata… please" Lee said as tears began to run down his cheeks as he held the crying Hyuga to his chest.
Anko clenched her fists as she saw the heads of her 2 long time friends Yugao and Ibiki; Anko was clenching her fist so tight that blood began to drip onto the sandy ground "mother fucking motherfuckers" Anko cursed.
Kurenai vomited onto the ground as she saw the head of her Fiancée Asuma; Kurenai wiped her mouth as she averted her eyes as she began to sob for her fallen lover.
Tsunade was in shock as she stared at the head of Shizune; Jiraya seeing Tsunade like that walked up and wrapped his arm around her shoulder and said nothing. There were no words that Jiraya could say that could help her.
Sakura was crying into Kakashi's chest adverting her eyes from what she just saw; Kakashi however had a look of rage and hatred in his single visible eye. On 2 pikes there were the heads of Mebuki and Kizashi Haruno; Kakashi held onto his sobbing lover as he grit his teeth under his mask.
'They will pay for this' Kakashi thought.
Naruto fell to his knees as he looked at the final 3 heads; Naruto was looking at the heads of Iruka Umino, Teuchi and Ayame Ichiraku. Naruto began to cry quietly as 3 people he loved unconditionally were now dead and mutilated in front of him; Temari came up behind Naruto and wrapped her arms around him.
"Naruto… I'm so sorry" Temari said trying to comfort Naruto.
"Well kid" Jiraya said speaking up and gaining Naruto's attention "you tried to stay out of it; but it looks like the war found you" he said and Naruto nodded.
"Seems so" Naruto said sadly before his eyes turned red and slitted "I'll fucking kill them all" he said in a growl.
Meanwhile in Konoha; Hokage mountain: With Danzo
Danzo was looking over the village he now ruled over with a smile 'finally after all these years; Konoha has it's rightful Hokage' he thought. Just then a pair of feet landed quickly followed by a thud; Danzo turned around and with a bored expression spoke "Orochimaru; it's been a while".
Orochimaru was standing there with a smirk on his face "It has Lord Danzo… or should I say Lord Hokage" he said; Danzo looked down at Orochimaru's feet and saw Shino Aburame badly beaten and bloody.
"Don't call him that" Shino growled out in anger; Orochimaru kicked Shino in the face knocking him out.
"Quite boy; the adults are talking" Orochimaru said before looking at Danzo "I found him near the border of the land of Rice; looks like the borders along Suna and the land of Rivers are to well guarded".
"What do you want Orochimaru" Danzo asked and Orochimaru smiled.
"An alliance" Orochimaru making Danzo raise and eyebrow "Suna has something I want very badly; I'll lend you my assistance if you promise to give me what i want". Danzo looked at Orochimaru and nodded.
"Very well; but if i sense any disloyalty, I'll kill you without a second thought" Danzo said "It's nice to have you back Orochimaru". Danzo turned around and smirked 'With Konoha, Taki and Oto at my disposal… nothing can stop me now' Danzo thought with a chuckle.
