Granger and Hetty were walking through Trentford one night.
'So, it's officially been 3 months since we met.' Granger said, trying to start a conversation.
'And I love it!' Hetty replied.
'So, things been okay with you since the poofy dress incident?'
'Well, Mom's advisors haven't tried any more tricks, so that's good.'
Then it started to rain.
'Oh dear! We didn't bring umbrellas!' Granger exclaimed.
'Come on! I know of a place we can hide out in!'
Hetty led him and their bodyguards to an old house.
'Nice place. Anyone live here?' Granger asked.
'Not in the last 4 months. I mostly use this place as a quiet place To read. Mark likes this place too.' Hetty replied.
'Do you both need anything?' Luke asked.
'No, you both can go upstairs.' Granger replied.
They both went upstairs.
'I'll get a fire going.' Hetty said.
A few minutes later, in front of the fire
'This is cozy.' Granger said.
'Yeah, I guess so.' Hetty replied.
'I appreciate every letter you send me.'
'Thank you! I appreciate yours too.'
'Not trying to pry, but how bad was the press reaction after the poofy dress incident?' Granger asked.
'Well, now I apparently look like someone who flees important events as soon as she can and holds no regard as to who she spends time with. So that's par for the course.' Hetty replied.
'You don't deserve this kind of treatment. You're a good person, and would make a good ruler.'
'I don't care what those losers think! I can take care of myself, and I love hanging out with you. You're a nice person.'
Rubbing her arm. 'Thank you.'
Noticing that she was shivering a bit, Granger went to get her a blanket.
'Oh thank you.' Hetty said, thanking him for the blanket.
'Chilvery ain't dead.'
Beaming. 'That's for sure!'
Later
'Why does the press care so much about us and not in the best way?' Granger asked.
'My theory: Because they want to try to convince our advisors to get us to do junk we don't want to do. My mom's advisors are always on my case about my press image. You?'
'Same here. But, I don't really care what they say.'
'That's good to know.' Hetty finished.
At 1 point, Granger put his arm around her, she appreciated it.
'Well, we should try and get some sleep as it looks like this rain isn't letting up anytime soon.' Granger said.
'Yeah, good night.'
As Hetty walked off to the bedroom
'Hetty.'
'Yeah?'
'Um, sleep well. And if you need me, I'll be in the other room.' Granger said, awkwardly.
Smiling. 'I'll take that under consideration.'
