An archery competition had come to Trentford, and Hetty was eager to participate.
She was out practicing in the courtyard when Mark came out.
'Let me guess, the all wise advisors don't want me participating because of how 'unroyal' like it is, or because they're afraid that I might win?' Hetty amusingly asked.
'Not exactly. Just came out to tell you who you're up against.' Mark replied. Then he gave her an article from The Trentford Daily.
Hetty skimmed through the article, then was very surprised to see 1 particular name mentioned.
'Owen is competing?!' She asked, very surprised.
Birkdale Castle Courtyard
'Sir, I took a look at the competition list for this archery tournament, and it looks like your friend from Trentford is also in the line up.' Luke said.
Shooting an arrow. 'I know.' He replied.
'So, did you enter this tournament so you could try to beat her?'
'In a way. I want to see just how good she is.'
'Sir, are you not aware of how many of these tournaments that she's won? She's beaten every competitor in the 3 closest kingdoms! And, you're not exactly the best at this.'
'Yes, I am somewhat aware of how good she is. It's not going to stop me from trying to beat her!' Granger replied, confidently.
'This is so not going to end well.' Luke thought.
The day of the tournament
'Does Hetty always get this big of an applause at these events?' Granger asked.
'Yes, because she's the best.' Luke replied.
When Round 1 ended, Granger was tied for 2nd with Hetty in the lead.
'I gotta say. You're not as bad as I thought you would be.' Hetty remarked.
'And how bad did you think I would be?'
'I don't know. How have the last week and ahalf been for you?'
'Quiet. You?' Granger asked.
'Giving my mom's advisors a run for their money every day.' Hetty replied.
After Round 2
'The final 2 competitors are: Owen Granger of Birkdale!'
Everyone booed.
'Wow. Nice reception.' He grumbled.
'And Princess Henrietta of Trentford!'
Rousing applause.
Granger took his shot, it hit the bull's eye.
'Well well. Looks like I'm about to beat you, Princess.' He snarked.
Hetty rolled her eye, aimed very seriously, and took her shot.
Her arrow broke Granger's aroow in stunning fashion.
Everyone gasped. But no one was more shocked then Granger.
'How did, how did?! Is that even possible?! No one can make a shot like that!' He sputtered out.
'Cat got your tongue, Owen?' Hetty teased.
'No, but…'
'Good game. (wink).'
Granger went home disgusted, and also amazed at Hetty's near impossible skill.
'No offense sir, but I did try to warn you about how good she was.' Luke said.
