New Year's Eve was coming up, an instead of spending the night at home, Hetty decide to spend it with Granger.

'Your Majesty, is this really such a good idea?' Advisor Thomas asked.

'Absolutely. She knows him, and I trust her judgement.' Leanne replied.

Given how similar Hetty was to Leanne, Thomas definitely didn't feel better after hearing that.

'Besides, I think she's falling in love with him.' She muttered after he left.

Birkdale castle.

'So, how do people here do New Year's Eve? Big party in the square? Fireworks at midnight?' Hetty asked.

'Pretty much. But in the morning, My dad gives a big speech, and everyone watches on the TV. And afterwards, we have a big banquet and invite everyone who is willing to come. It's a very festive affair.' Granger replied.

'Wow, that's really something! My mom also gives a speech, and this year, she wants me to give it alongside her.'

'No kidding, my dad asked me the same thing! I told him I'd think about it, but between you and me, I'm not interested.'

'Why not? You sound so nice when you talk.'

Blushing. 'All the newspapers here do is scrutinize the whole speech. I hate seeing my dad mocked and teased like that. I'd just be subjecting myself to the same scrutiny.' Granger said.

'I say screw the stupid media! You are great at giving speeches, and if they can't appreciate you or your father, then they don't deserve to call themselves reporters!' Hetty exclaimed.

Granger was really stunned by her reaction.

'Sorry. The media treats me and my mom the same and I can't stand it.'

'No! No, it's amazing that you feel the same way I do. Only, I prefer to choose to avoid possible conflicts instead of, what you do.' Granger replied.

'You know something, I have an idea. Let's tell our parents to give their speeches together! And we'll stand side by side with them. Let our idiotic reporters judge both of us as equals and see how they react!'

'That, actually sounds like a decent idea! I'll tell my dad about it and see if he goes for it.'

Then the countdown began.

'Is it still traditional for 2 people to kiss at the stroke of midnight?' Hetty asked.

'Pretty much, yeah.' Granger replied.

And when the clock struck midnight, he kissed her, on the cheek!

'Happy New Year, Princess.'

'Happy New Year, Owen.' Hetty sweetly replied.

And that morning, Both their parents, with them standing side by side, gave their speeches together. And the media on both kingdoms, weren't quite sure what to make of it! Well, until 1 reporter started to theorize that the prince and princess were in love with each other!
