Chapter 1: Pilot.
A door opened and Z-one turned to see someone walk in. The person in question was an android built in the image of Z-one before he altered himself to make him look like Yusei. "Has the Odyssey engine been prepared for activation" asked Z-one. The agent responded "Yes, if correct this particle accelerator will use gravity to tear a hole in the space time continuum allowing me to go back in time and eliminate the man who constructed the Enter-D reactor". From behind his mask Z-one smiled, "Remember, we have exhausted our resources of time travel, this is our last time travel device, it will transport you back here when your task is done". Z-one handed the agent the device. Just then Paradox walked into the room
"How soon until project Odyssey begins?" asked Paradox. The agent then responds "The engine is being powered up as we speak, as of now it's nearly ready". Paradox and Z-one smirked. Paradox then says "Remember agent, we are entrusting you with the most important of tasks. If you do this right then the future's safety is absolutely guaranteed. With no enter-D reactor to be constructed the end of the world will be impossible due to the meklords.". Z-one then continues "The man who pitched the idea for the enter-D reactor is unknown but it is imperative you find him and eliminate him.". The agent nods and they head to the Odyssey engine. Z-one and Paradox began activating the machinery of the engine preparing for it to be activated. As the engine nearly powered up an explosion was heard.
"What happened" asked the agent. Paradox looked at one of the consoles and slammed his fist onto one of the desks. "One of our generators has malfunctioned, we cannot activate the engine at full power." said Paradox. Z-one then looked at another console and noticed something curious.
*With Leo, Luna and Lester*
Leo and Luna were staring at Lester, Lester has summoned Meklord emperor Skiel. Leo was worried, all he had was power-tool dragon in play with two set cards, but Luna had nothing on the field, not even a set card and one direct attack from Lester could end the duel. "You know what, I'm not even going to absorb your worthless monster just yet Leo, first I'll get rid of your sister! Meklord emperor Skiel, let her have it!" said Lester, Meklord emperor Skiel began to charge up an attack, Leo knew he had to something, "Not so fast Lester! I activate call of the earthbound! Your attack switches to power tool dragon!" shouted Leo! Lester chuckled, "Fine then, I'll attack it!". Leo then smirked, "I now activate my second trap unbreakable will! I target a monster and for this turn only I take no battle damage from attacks involving it and it also can't be destroyed in battle!" It was at this moment, that Leo's life would take a drastic turn.
*The Arc Cradle*
Z-one noticed that the clash of the Meklord emperor of the Skies and the sealed signer dragon was producing energy, the exact amount needed to fully activate the odyssey engine. "Transfer this duel energy immediately!" said Z-one. Paradox nodded and activated an energy synchronizer and connected it to the engine allowing the engine to absorb the duel energy. The engine roared to life and began to glow as it got louder and louder before a massive surge of lightning enveloped the agent and he was gone. However at that very moment back with Leo, Luna and Lester the clash resulted in power tool dragon and Leo getting enveloped in blue energy. Leo didn't know what was happening and then suddenly as if he was on a roller coaster he was thrown into a massive energy-like wormhole at incredible speeds, however to Luna and Lester it looked like Leo just vanished. Leo began screaming as he tumbled through the wormhole not knowing where he was going.
Luna was obviously horrified, her brother just vanished before her eyes, why he vanished was beyond her. She looked at Lester, many emotions were running through her head at once. "What did you to him? WHAT DID YOU DO TO LEO!" shouted Luna. Lester didn't know what to think, he wasn't the cause of it but he instead decided to lie. "This is what happens when you meddle with Iliaster!". As Lester began laughing he received a communication beckoning him back to the Arc Cradle, "Sorry Luna but I have more important things to do." Lester then jumped off into a different lane leaving the horrified Luna alone.
*?*
Suddenly Leo saw an end to the wormhole and before he could react he flew out of it and hit a wooden shelf in an alleyway. Leo then saw the shelf begin to tumble down. "Oh come on!" said Leo as the shelf collapsed on him. Leo heard someone running towards him, before he could see who is he lost consciousness. Later Leo woke up on a bed of a home he did not know. He saw a man typing on a computer, the man turned to him. "You've been out for about a few hours kid." said the man. Leo slowly rubbed his eyes, he was scared but at least he's safe for now. Maybe he can get answers, "Well thanks for helping me sir, I'm Leo" said Leo. "Name's Gerald King" said Gerald. "Gerald, okay. Where am I exactly?" asked Leo. Gerald looked at him confused "Domino city, where else?". So I'm in the remains of Domino city, so I guess I was teleported, thought Leo. The remains of Domino city was a small town comprised of houses and stores that survived the zero-reverse incident.
"Lets have a bite to eat, Chinese?" asked Gerald. Leo smiled "Sure, I could use a bite to eat.". The two went outside and Leo noticed something odd, the remains of Domino city encompassed more ground than he remembered. But then again it's been a while since Leo last visited it so it could just be that. "Let me tell you kid this Chinese place has the best chow mien in this city. Trust me when I say that when you take your first bite your taste buds will be engulfed with the best noodles you ever had-" Gerald looked down but Leo wasn't next to him. A few meters back Leo stopped listening as he looked at a building, his heart sank when he saw it. It was the game shop owned by Solomon Muto. Normally Leo would've overjoyed to see it as it was destroyed and he really wanted to visit it. But seeing it here and still standing meant only one thing, and Leo knew what it meant, and he now also knew why the so called 'remains' of Domino city were bigger. "Oh my God! I ... I'M IN THE PAST!". Leo dropped to his knees and tears began to fall, how will he get home now? What's going to happen to him? And most importantly, will he ever see his friends again, will he ever see Luna again? Leo didn't want to believe it, this had to be a nightmare. Leo pinched himself hoping he'd wake up at home but to no avail. "No NO NO NO!" shouted Leo as he punched the ground, as much as he hoped he that he wasn't, he was stuck in the past.
Suddenly Gerald showed up, "Hey Leo what are you doing?". Gerald saw that Leo's eyes were red from crying, "Is something wrong? Do you want to talk about it?". Leo wanted to confess how he felt, but he couldn't. How could he, he couldn't just flat out say that he's from the future who wound up here, nobody would believe him. And even if they did how could they get him home. "N-no, I don't want to talk about it" said Leo. Gerald helped Leo up, Leo "Can we go eat, maybe it'll help me feel better.". Gerald nodded and they went to the Chinese place.
*Egypt*
A door opened to a temple, in stepped Marik Ishtar and his rare hunters. "Alright everyone, I have reason to believe there is an Egyptian god card here! I want it found now". The rare hunters nodded but one of them noticed a massive stone, in it contained a scale, it was similar to Marik's Millennium Rod yet it wasn't. He stared at it for a while. "Rare hunter what are you doing!" shouted Marik. Marik then noticed the stone and the scale inside it. Marik scoffed, "The Millennium Scale, powerful, but no match for my Millennium Rod.". Suddenly the rare hunter went and grabbed the scale from the Millennium stone. "What are you doing!" shouted Marik. "Working with you all is beneath me, why should I assist a child who has daddy issues in finding the three god cards? I'll be the one taking those god cards and once I find Obelisk and Slifer I will take Ra from you!" said the rare hunter. "Fool, you are playing with powers beyond your comprehension! I'll give one more chance, put the Millennium Scale away and we can forget about this incident" said Marik. The rare hunter scoffed, "Fool, why would I serve you again now that I have something that equals your Rod!". Marik's eyes narrowed "I warned you!" Marik held up his Millenium Rod but before he could react he was hit with sand in his face, the Rare Hunter than ran out, a few rare hunters then attempted to pursue the rouge rare hunter. "Don't bother with him, he's not worth the time" said Marik. "But master Marik you heard him he-" Marik then cut off the rare hunter "Do you really think a weakling like him can wield the Egyptian god cards, he doesn't even have one god card! And if he does make good on his threat I will deal with him myself. But for now keep searching."
The rouge rare hunter ran out of the temple and through the town, as he ran he pushed aside a man. The man noticed he was carrying the Millennium Scale. The man's name was Shadi. He watched as the man ran to a jeep and drove out of town. "Well first thing's first, I need rare and powerful cards. And fortunately for me I know exactly where to go" said the rouge rare hunter as he kept talking to himself while he drove to the Cairo airport. After a while he managed to get on a plane, the destination, Domino city.
*Domino city*
Leo was enjoying the chow mien, albeit it didn't make his sorrow of being stuck in the past that much better. "Hey Gerald, what do you do for a living?" asked Leo attempting to make conversation. Gerald then responded "I work for Industrial Illusions, I help oversee the cards that are produced for Duel monsters". "Oh, neat" said Leo, "So you decide what cards make it to the game?". "Pretty much" answered Gerald, "I even sometimes get the pleasure of brainstorming ideas for cards with Pegasus himself.". "That's so cool!" said Leo. The two finished their meal, as they began walking back Leo took a deep breath and then said "C-can I stay with you, until I get back on my feet?". "Well where are your parents?" asked Gerald. "No ... they are no longer with me." said Leo, it was partially true seeing has his family is in the future. Gerald sighed "Fine, I'll see what I can do.".
Meanwhile in a nearby alley the agent exited a time portal. The agent pressed a button on his wrist, "I've made it to the correct time period. I will begin my search immediately. Where do I start?". Z-one then responded from the other end of the communication device, "Industrial Illusions, they are rumored to have some sort of connection the enter-D reactor project, perhaps the idea for the reactor was proposed there.". The agent nodded "It will be done Z-one". The agent then set out to complete his objective. As the agent walked down the street he noticed Leo, this was unexpected as Leo wasn't supposed to be here. Although Leo didn't know the agent was, he knew that although the chances were minimal Leo could potentially jeopardize his mission. "This ... complicates things" said the agent.
