It was under circumstances like these that Okora was thankful for the fact that despite the Saiyans being a [former] key piece of the Freeza Force, their planet was closer to the outskirts of the empire's reach. Whether it was Freeza's contempt for the Saiyan race or just happenstance didn't matter, as it wound up making the lone survivor's escape all the easier. Okora knew how to suppress his ki signature so his power level wouldn't be picked up by any scouters, and the personal pod he had been granted by King Vegeta was manufactured solely by the royal engineers so that only other royal Saiyan tech could detect and follow its coordinates. This ensured it didn't have any of Freeza's own tracking devices installed, which enabled Okora's escape.

Another boon that the planet's position granted Okora was the fact that Earth was only a few weeks' distance away. It wasn't optimal, per se, as quite a few years had passed since Okora had recorded the planet privately. Due to the nature of star system movements being independent from others, Vegeta and Earth drifted apart significantly, but not enough to make the trip unbearably long. All things considered, it was still a rather short ETA compared to other scouting missions the Saiyan scholar had dealt with in the past. Of course, unlike those scouting missions, his destination was now a permanent residence since his own planet had died at the hands of that tyrannical bastard.

The week that it took to reach Earth was a rather boring one. It wasn't a super surprising conclusion given that there wasn't anyone to keep Okora company. Nevertheless, a week had indeed passed and the last Saiyan now found himself just outside of Earth's orbit. Okora took control of the pod manually and maneuvered around the planet until he came across a land mass vaguely shaped like a crescent. Checking the records he transferred from his scouting pod, he recalled that this mass was known as Japan.

"Hmm… the last time I was here, Japan looked like it was in the middle of a huge shift of social power." Looking down at his live view, it seemed to be much more at peace, though still not perfect. Then again, no world is perfect, so who was he to judge? Okora activated the zoom function on his viewing screen.

"Now, where to land, where to land…" The Saiyan rambled to himself as he surveyed the different regions of the island nation. "I don't want to draw attention and be in a too populated area, but I also want to be near ample resources. I wonder if I could access any population archives."

Okora turned on the pod's frequency scanner and sent the search command on the console. It took a bit less time than he expected, and within the next 5 minutes he was looking at a listing of all of Japan's officially recognized regions and most recent census counts. Scanning the top 15 and cross-referencing with other records detailing important services and resources, he decided on the Shizuoka prefecture. It was near the top in terms of population and had plentiful governmental and social resources as a result, as well as good institutions. However, it wasn't the only major point, so he could reasonably enter without being spotted.

"Lucky me," The Saiyan remarked. "There's a mountain range not far from a government building. I can probably land there."

Turning off the live view and closing his command prompt, Okora took control of the vessel from the autopilot and carefully flew over to the nearby mountains. Normally he wouldn't waste time or fuel on careful maneuvers, but he wanted to avoid drawing unneeded attention. With the few records he gleaned when he first recorded Earth, he was aware of the atrocities humanity was capable of. He could only pray to the stars that the people in the government he met not only believe him but don't cast him out or try anything unpleasant.

/

Okora's landing turned out both better and worse than he expected. He didn't seem to set off any alarms that he could notice, as he didn't detect any energies or vehicles gunning for him. The remoteness of the location though, even with the cityscape within a five minute flight, forced him to travel the rest of the way entirely on his own. He'll have to either hide or destroy his ship, too. Taking his bag of texts and materials out of the ship, he started thinking aloud about his game plan.

"If they're hostile, I'll simply just fly back and leave. As far as I can sense, I'm still leagues above everyone nearby so I should be able to escape unscathed. If I'm welcomed… that will have to depend on if they believe that I'm really a Saiyan or if they think I'm just a delusional man with one of these weird 'quirks.' Best case scenario they can find a place for me to discreetly store my pod or I'll be able to safely destroy it."

Okora took one last look towards the stars he left behind and took a deep breath, steeling his resolve. "I'll find out soon enough. It's time to fly."

Inko Midoriya didn't have the best life growing up. She lived in a more run-down area of Mustafu without much to live on. She was teased for her quirk, too, due to it being seen as very weak. She never really knew her father or her mother, who had both unfortunately passed away in a villain attack when she was young. She changed her family name to Midoriya after that, and separated from her younger brother after he became more and more bitter.

Thankfully, things turned up for Inko once she reached high school. She managed to get into U.A.'s Business Course and wound up graduating in the top ten of her year academically, including the Support and Hero Courses. From there, she led a rather normal life until she was offered a higher up position in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. She was still stationed in Mustafu just for the sake of ease, but she was in charge of citizens abroad and general identification for foreign and domestic individuals alike.

As it turns out, this was exactly what Inko excelled in. She enjoyed this post very much and she got along well with her coworkers. It didn't hurt that she got damn good pay for her position, of course. Despite all this, the workload itself was overall light and she got bored often. There wasn't much to do, so more often than not she just busied herself with assorted tasks and checks.

Looking out the window of her office, she could just barely see something soaring across the sky. It definitely wasn't a plane, it barely made any noise and it was too small and low for that. Not to mention there was some sort of white pulsating energy surrounding the… was that a person?

"Looks like things are about to get much more interesting," the woman whispered to herself as the figure slowed and touched down right in front of the building.

/

Sure enough, Inko was quickly notified by the front lobby worker about the individual's presence after they entered the building. She wanted to say it was a man, and it certainly looked like a man, but she didn't want to assume when she never met them and didn't get the best look.

"Uhm, Miss Midoriya? I'm sure you saw the young man ( I thought so! ) flying close to our office. He is requesting to speak with you. Specifically, he's asking for someone in charge of identification and citizenship."

"Send him up, Shimizu." Inko replied. Not too long after, a knock could be heard at her door. After being given permission, the man opened the door and walked in.

In truth, the man certainly wasn't what Inko was expecting. He stood at approximately 6 and a half feet with shoulder length jet black hair. The man's skin tone was fairly dark and he looked well-kept. He wore an unassuming pair of glasses over his black eyes, but the rest of his outfit was what stood out. The man wore a deep blue skin tight navy jumpsuit that went down his arms and just above his knees. On top of it there was a pair of long white gloves, a white breastplate with yellow straps, and a yellow stomach piece. For footwear, he had what seemed to be separate navy calf plates with white trim alongside yellow and white boots.

What struck Inko as the most odd was that he seemed to possess multiple quirks. The man had a monkey's tail, currently swaying to and fro behind him, that much was easy to see. The weird pulsing aura and flight from before indicated at least one other quirk if not two. With the exception of the rumored "Boogeyman of the Underworld," having completely different quirks was unheard of, and it cast suspicion in Inko's mind as to the intent of this man.

Needless to say, she was surprised when the man wordlessly genuflected to her, eyes closed and head tilted down. Out of every possibility, bowing in this manner without hesitation was certainly not one Inko would've expected. The uneasy silence was finally broken when the man raised his head to look at her and spoke.

"Greetings, Earthling official," he began with a much gentler tone than expected. "My name is Okora. This may be difficult to believe, but I speak with the utmost sincerity when I say that I am not from this world and I wish to make a new life here. To make a long story short, life on my home planet has become… untenable."

Well, this "alien" certainly spoke the truth to Inko; but unfortunately for him, she didn't believe him for a second. She narrowed her eyes at Okora. "And why should I believe anything you say? For all I know, you could be a villain trying to infiltrate the government."

Okora stood abruptly and bowed his head in understanding. "Aside from my ship out by the mountains being of vastly different technology than what you Earthlings have produced, I have no evidence to back up my claim. It would also be foolish of me to expect you or anyone else to follow me to such an isolated space. If you wish, I can leave and find another planet to live on."

A sigh brought Okora's gaze back to the government official before him. "There's no need for that," Inko relented. "Thankfully, I know a man with just the quirk to figure this out."

"Pardon my ignorance, I am still new to the idea of what you call 'quirks,' but I can assure you I have no such power like that." Okora replied earnestly. From what he remembered, quirk shouldn't be used in this context on Earth. Did he miss something important viewing Earth all those decades ago?

Inko just stared at him with an exasperated expression before sighing and shaking her head with a dry chuckle and shooting a text to her companion in the police force. "I'll unpack that later, but you just earned a point in your favor in terms of your claims being true if you really don't know what a quirk is."

Detective Tsukauchi really needed a drink. It couldn't be enough that he has to deal with Toshinori's random bouts of heroism whenever he has a chance or coordinating with Eraserhead on various underground cases, nooo! The detective now received a message from his government friend Inko to confirm the claims of some random person that showed up out of nowhere. Said claims were that he was the lone surviving alien of a different planet with issues that made it hard to live there.

Yeah, the poor detective was definitely going to have to crack open that bottle of Everclear he got from Toshinori when he got off work.

/

"So, let me get all this straight," Tsukauchi began with a sigh. Hearing everything this guy had to say was exhausting. What's worse is that his quirk didn't register a lie or any mental disturbances. "You, Okora, are the lone survivor of an alien warrior race called the Saiyans."

"That is correct, sir." Okora politely replied.

"You were among the few scholars outside of the royal scientists, to the point that you were regarded as one of the smartest by your peers."

"Indeed, though I never fully believed that. I wasn't a member of the royal squadrons for a reason after all."

"No sense in arguing that point. Anyway, your race was controlled by a galactic fucking emperor – excuse my language – called Freeza, and you were one of his scouts sent to find habitable planets to subjugate and or sell."

"I despise that arrogant bastard and what he made us do, but yes."

"Not long ago, Freeza sent an order that tipped you and a friend off that he may be eliminating you based on an ancient legend?"

"One word: paranoid," the Saiyan curtly quipped.

"Clearly so, but that is true, correct?"

"Yes. I personally don't believe in the Super Saiyan legend, but it was enough to make Freeza fear our increasing power, so he thought it best to nip the problem in the bud."

The exhausted detective sighed into his hands before continuing the summary. "At your friend's behest, he had you escape with only your most important items with the exception of any technology created or possibly tapped by the 'Freeza Force,' all while he staged a last-second rebellion."

Okora looked down to his feet. "Yes, and he unfortunately failed to stop the mass extinction event."

Tsukauchi took another brief reprieve from the final questioning to give the Saiyan a comforting side hug. He couldn't even comprehend having to live with such circumstances. "I'm sorry for what you all had to do and go through. Just a few more confirmations and I can finish this up."

"Of course, sir, and I apologize for any inconvenience my arrival has caused or will cause."

"Think nothing of it, Mr. Okora, you are not at fault for any of this." The two men exchanged wordless sympathetic nods before the detective looked back down at his notes. "Alright, so following your escape, you traveled here in your personal space pod, currently out in the nearby mountain range, and you found the nearest government office to hopefully figure out a means to live here."

"Yes, sir. I can promise you that Freeza doesn't know of my survival nor of Earth's existence. I was the only one who had scouted this corner of the galaxy and after watching Earth for a couple of weeks a few decades ago, I marked it as an inhospitable planet with clear signs of previous attempts at terraforming. There is no reason for Freeza to visit this region and no reason for him to look for any survivors."

Tsukauchi let himself smile as he closed his notebook and took the tape recorder back into his hand from the table. "Let the record show that everything Okora has stated has been truthful. There is no evidence of lying, misleading, or external interference. Due to the sensitivity of this information and the associated circumstances I will be categorizing this case as Classified Level X; information about the case can only be shared by the parties from this interview on a need-to-know basis. I will be including U.A. Principal Nedzu within this sharing category and Chief Kenji Tsuragamae will be notified although he will not be permitted to share information about this case."

As Tsukauchi turned off the tape recorder and put it into his coat pocket, Inko spoke up. "I understand classifying this as X Level, but why involve Nedzu?"

"Truth be told, Inko," the detective replied. "The principal would probably find out eventually. U.A. is the biggest high school in the nation, so the likelihood that any children Okora may have in the future will attempt to go for the institution is high. He also might be able to help out with 'verification,' if you understand what I mean."

Inko nodded, accepting the reasoning, before turning to Okora who in turn faced her. "Well now that everything is taken care of on that front, I guess we can start setting you up with the necessary documentation for your new life here in Mustafu. First things first, I suggest you decide on a family name."

"What is a family name, Miss Inko?" The otherworldly man questioned, cocking his head to the side like a confused puppy.

The physical gesture had Inko freeze for a moment before clearing her own mind. "J-just call me Inko, Okora, no need for the formalities after what you've divulged. A family name, or last name as some nations refer to it as, is a secondary name that's given to someone in most scenarios unless otherwise necessary."

Inko pulled out her ID and gave it to the Saiyan who examined it. "My family name, for example, is Midoriya. In most countries, the family name is stated first in official environments when organizing information. Here in Japan the family name is what you customarily refer to others as unless they give you other options, though addressing one by their first name isn't uncommon in other countries."

Handing back the card, Okora nodded in understanding. "I see. So you are sure it is alright for me to call you Inko? It certainly sounds more intimate knowing the context."

"Yeah, Inko , it does sound intimate," Tsukauchi added with a snort.

Inko couldn't fight back the blush that began peppering her cheeks as she flashed a venom-lacking glare towards the cheeky detective. "Yes, yes, it's fine!" Clearing her throat and recomposing herself somewhat, she continued. "You told me a lot of personal information and I'm going to be the one processing your official information as well. There isn't much need for formality anymore given this entire messed-up situation."

"All jokes aside, she brings up a good point," Tsukauchi interjected. "It's not too uncommon for certain people to allow the use of their first name with less-than-expected familiarity in a relationship. Some just prefer their first name, some may find themselves knowing a lot more about the other person than they expected or will be working more closely than originally thought, or they may take a bit more of an interest in the other person."

Inko could practically feel the cocky eyebrow raising that the detective likely did at that last part. Yes, she could admit the alien was attractive but there's no way she's going to pursue something this early on. She just met him.

" Anyway !" Inko exclaimed as she waved the investigator off, who gladly took the opportunity to escape. "Let's get started on making you an official Japanese citizen and an official Earthling."

Okora flashed a wide, toothy grin and nodded. As Inko took in the aura of innocence and determination held in the blinding smile, she could only think of one thing: Shit, I'm going to fall for this man, aren't I?

She did.
