Tsumisumbri Mountains of Earth, afternoon

"Remember we're going to wish for mom and dad to get better, nothing else," Gohan said.

"Yup," Zangya said nodding her head energetically.

"Sure thing kids." Oolong said. Truthfully he would rather use the wish for selfish purposes if he could, however, that was not an option given current circumstances.

"Don't worry, I'll make certain he keeps his word," Raditz said.

Raditz despised the morally questionable pigman and hated spending time with him. The only reason he came along was that his mother did not want the children going to the Tsumisumbri Mountains alone with Oolong. Gine and her new husband Ox King (Raditz still hated that fact) were worried about why the Dragon Balls had all mysteriously appeared in this icy, barren region. Gohan, Zangya, and Oolong were dressed in warm parkas, unlike Raditz who did not seem overly troubled by the cold.

Raditz gave Oolong a not so gentle pat on his head. "Hey, need I remind you all getting the Dragon Radar from Duluma was my idea. You guys are tagging along with me, not the other way around." Oolong said.

Raditz again swatted Oolong's heat, this time he also grabbed the Dragon Radar. "Give me that," Raditz said while Oolong rubbed his sore head.

"This is the last time I go anywhere with you." Oolong grumbled.

"Promises promises," Raditz said. "According to the Dragon Radar, the Dragon Balls should be nearby, unless I'm reading it wrong." Raditz shook the device.

"Don't, you'll break it." Oolong protested trying to take the Dragon Radar back without success. The much taller Raditz easily kept the device out of Oolong's reach much to the displeasure of the irritated pigman.

One Kilometer away

The cyborg Dr. Kochin had finished gathering the Dragon Balls. He summed the Eternal Dragon Shenron who he wished to melt the ice encasing the laboratory he shared with his business partner Dr. Wheelo. His duty done, Shenron vanished dispersing the Dragon Balls once more across the Earth.

Meanwhile some distance away, a short while later

Piccolo was training hard. He knew he had to get stronger before the Androids arrived. Only six months remained. Although he was pained to admit it Goku, Carri, Vegeta, and Duluma were now all substantially stronger than him, even the likes of Raditz, Gine, Starfire & Waller were nipping at his heels. He needed to catch up, but how? Perhaps his new training partner would help achieve that elusive leap in strength?

"Nice place you've got here. I love what you've been with the ice." Nail said sarcastically.

"Hey, at least we're alone here, free from interruptions," Piccolo said.

"I'm flattered Piccolo but you're not my type." Nail said dryly. "Besides, I liked the mountains better. They have a certain indefinable ambiance."

Piccolo could not suppress a smile. This guy was too much. "Let's go again, shall we?" Piccolo asked tossing aside his weighted turban and cape.

"Well, since you asked so nicely, sure, why not." Nail said.

Both Namekians assumed fighting stances. They squared off. Their mock battle was well underway in a matter of seconds with Piccolo just holding his own against Nail.

"You've learned a great deal from me over the past few months, Nail. Your technique has improved dramatically," Piccolo said taking a much-needed break. Piccolo was being pushed to his limit by Nail.

"Same to you, Piccolo." Nail said with a smirk.

"Cheeky," Piccolo said.

"Always," Nail said.

The pair were about to start round two when some unwanted guests arrived. "I thought I sensed Namekians," Raditz said. "So, was it you who summoned Shenron?"

"We saw him appear in the sky. He's really big." Zangya said spreading her arms wide. It was the first time she had behold the awesome sight with her young eyes.

"It wasn't us. We've been training all day." Piccolo insisted.

"Oolong take Gohan and Zangya somewhere safe. I'll investigate further with the Namekians." Raditz said.

"We have names you know. I'm Nail. He's Piccolo." Nail said gesturing at himself then at Piccolo.

"Contact the others tell them something strange could be going on up here, in case we run into trouble," Raditz said ignoring Nail's rebuke of his rudeness.

"Got it," Oolong said.

"What about our wish to heal mom and dad?" Gohan said.

"Yeah, what about it?" Zangya said. "We need to help them."

"If Shenron has indeed been summoned, you'll have to wait another year, kids. I'm sure Goku and Carri will be healed up long before then." Piccolo said.

"You really think so, Mr. Piccolo?" Gohan said.

"I do, kids," Piccolo said ruffling Gohan's hair playfully. Piccolo had developed a soft spot for Gohan ever since the time they spent together training in the Time Chamber. "Run along now. We'll handle things from here."

Outside of Dr. Wheelo's Laboratory, fifteen minutes later

Raditz, Piccolo, and Nail made short work of their welcoming committee. The eight Bio-Men who greeted them were far too weak to put up much resistance. Raditz scoffed at these "counterfeit Saibamen" who in his estimation were even less useful than the originals.

Dr. Kochin emerged from the laboratory. "You three are strong, but is any of you strong enough for our purpose?" He mused. "I think further testing is in order."

Three more figures walked out of the laboratory. These were the Cyber Warriors Kishime, Ebifurya, and Misokatsun. A fierce battle ensued between Piccolo, Nail, & Raditz and the Cyber Warriors: punches, kicks, and energy attacks flew at blinding speed. Before either group could gain the upper hand the ice beneath them cracked loudly then gave way under immense strain from their encounter. All six fighters toppled into the abyss.

"Hmmm, it would appear we'll continue this test inside." Dr. Kochin said. He had narrowly avoided a tumble by taking several well-timed steps backward.

Several hours later

"It doesn't look like much," Vegeta said examining the exterior of Dr. Wheelo's laboratory. "How can we be sure they are inside? Perhaps that idiot Raditz simply got himself and the two Namekians lost in this barren wasteland."

"Do you see any other place around here where they could be hiding? We're in the middle of nowhere." Duluma said shaking her head. "Vegeta I swear if we weren't such a good sparring partner and didn't have a cute butt I'd kick you to the curb."

"My butt isn't cute woman it's epic, and don't you forget it," Vegeta said.

"Believe me I won't," Duluma said with a wink.

"How do you suppose we get instead?" Vegeta wondered not seeing an entrance. The doorway used by Dr. Kochin and the Cyber Warriors was camouflaged.

"The old fashioned way. We break in," Duluma said with a grin as she unsheathed her sword.

The pair charged up their Ki and rammed the structure twice. The hidden doorway sprang open. They flew through a long hallway that steadily curved downward dispatching swarms of Bio-Men, Vegeta using Ki attacks whereas Duluma proffered to use her Ki-charged sword. Finally, they reached the main chamber where Raditz, Piccolo, and Nail were strapped onto examination tables.

Nail had gotten the worst of it. His body was covered with dark purple bruises and dried navy blue blood. He appeared to be barely clinging to life.

"Animals," Duluma yelled. She went to cut them free only to be stopped by the Cyber Warriors.

"Don't let them take our test subjects!" Dr. Kochin wailed.

The reptilian-like Kishime shot electricity at Duluma who grounded herself with her sword. Ebifurya froze the unwary Vegeta in a solid block of ice. Misokatsun enveloped Duluma trying to smother her in his balloon-type form. Enraged at seeing his wife but in what he feared was in mortal danger, Vegeta powered up and burst free from the ice. He readied his Galick Gun attack but he did not have to use it right away. Duluma focused her Ki charging up her sword until it punctured straight through Misokatsun destroying him in a mighty blast. Vegeta then used his Galick Gun to eradicate the stunned Ebifurya and Kishime getting a two for one kill.

"Are you all right?" Vegeta asked Duluma.

"Are you?" Duluma asked in return.

"Yes," Vegeta answered.

"So am I," Duluma said. They then shared a quick hug of victory mixed with relief.

Dr. Kochin glared at them after he quickly surveyed the ruined chamber. His sour expression abruptly changed. "You two are even stronger than these three. One of you will make a perfect host for Dr. Wheelo." He said happily.

"Who in the blue hell is Dr. Wheelo, you freak!?" Vegeta demanded to know grabbing Dr. Kochin by his collar.

"Ask him yourself. He's right behind you." Dr. Kochin said with a smirk.

A loud rumble was heard. Behind them, a part of the wall seemed to come to life. The machinery was not part of the complex at all but rather a very large robot with an equally large human brain inside of its chest bubble. The construct crackled with yellow electricity as it stomped forward.

"Once I Dr. Wheelo have taken control of one of your magnificent bodies, to compliment my equally magnificent mind, I'll discard this ugly metal shell. Then I will fulfill my destiny to become the greatest being the world has ever known.' Dr. Wheelo's Robot boomed.

"That thing's power level is higher than anything I've sense short of Frieza, his father, or the mysterious girl who defeated them," Duluma said shivering in fear before she decided the best way to meet this challenge was head-on like she did every other.

"Good," Vegeta said releasing Dr. Kochin his attention riveted on Dr. Wheelo's towering robotic form. "I enjoy a good challenge. Time to see if our months of training have paid off."

"A little help over here," Raditz growled struggling against his bonds.

"Oh, sorry," Duluma said. She rushed over to free Raditz with her sword followed by Piccolo.

Piccolo went to Nail's side. "How are you doing?"

"I've been better, can't you tell?" Nail coughed.

Vegeta, Duluma, and Raditz prepared to fight Dr. Wheelo. "So, this was the one who captured me to be his lab rat. I'll make him pay!" Raditz rushed Dr. Wheelo not hearing Duluma's warning about the robot's power level. With one of its two massive upper limbs, Dr. Wheelo's robot batted Raditz aside with ease when he jumped forward bouncing him off a wall.

"Pathetic," Dr. Wheelo's voice boomed. "It'll take more than that to take me down."

Vegeta and Dululma unleashed twin Ki attacks but Dr. Wheelo's robot was unaffected. "It didn't put a dent in him!" Vegeta snarled stating the obvious.

Dr. Wheelo's robot batted Duluma aside with one of his upper limbs. From under the chest bubble, it fired a beam of yellow energy that knocked Vegeta off his feet. Seeing what was happening Piccolo was about to intervene when he felt a tug on his arm.

"I'm finished. We both know it. Use my energy, absorb me, please. Stop this abomination of flesh and machine." Nail pleaded.

"Are you sure? There will be no going back." Piccolo said.

"I'm sure." Nail said adding with a weak smile. "Give him hell for me."

Piccolo smiled back. He placed his hand on Nail's chest. He performed the fusion ritual even though this was more absorption than a true fifty-fifty fusion due to Nail's all but dead state. without a moment to lose the newly invigorated Piccolo attacked Dr. Wheelo.

Piccolo flew right at the bubble. He blitzed it with a flurry of punches. Dr. Wheelo's robotic upper limbs attempted to swat Piccolo away, however, Piccolo kept dodging them. Piccolo's position was too high for the energy emitter to target him. Soon small cracks appeared along the surface of the bubble that grew progressively longer and deeper.

"No," Dr. Kochin screamed. "I won't let you stop his impending glorious resurrection!" Dr. Kochin ran to attack Piccolo.

"Nope," Raditz said.

Back on his feet, Raditz launched a Ki attack at Dr. Kochin that carried him away. Dr, Kochin fell down a crack in the ice floor that had opened up during the battle. His screams slowly faded away.

"Now, hit him now in his bubble, it's his weak point!" Piccolo said after glancing over his shoulder to see that the others had recovered.

Vegeta charged up his Galick Gun for a second time. Duluma channeled her Ki into her sword tip. Raditz readied his Double Sunday attack. At the last possible second, Piccolo moved aside. When the combined energy attacks surged forth he added one of his own to the mix. Dr. Wheelo groaned under the strain. He resisted for about ten seconds but then his bubble broke apart exposing his mutated brain to raw fury.

"IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII, cccccccccccccccccccccccccaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaannnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnooooooooooooooottttttttttttttt, dddddddddddddiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiieeeeeeeeeee." Dr. Wheelo shrieked while his brain literally fried like an egg. It exploded leaving behind gobs of thick goo. The robot then toppled over. Earth was again safe from those who would do it harm.

Capsule Corp the next day, early evening

"The stuff those two old coots had stashed away under the ice of those mountains was amazing. Granted, much of it is antiqued but I still think I can make use of it with a little retrofitting." Duluma said excitedly.

"Sorry about Nail. He was a cool guy. I wish Carri or I could have been there. Maybe we could have saved him." Goku said to Piccolo from his bed. Goku along with Carri had recovered from their bout with the Heart Virus earlier that day much to the surprise and happiness of everyone. They were weak but Duluma expected they would make a full recovery given enough time to rest.

"He's not gone. He'll always be with me." Piccolo said touching his chest.

"Looks like we missed all the excitement," Carri said from her own bed alongside Goku's.

"There was not much excitement, honestly. Dr, Wheelo and his followers were pushovers." Raditz boasted.

"Says the Saiyan who was captured by them." Vegeta laughed. "As I recall we had to rescue you and the Namekian, Raditz."

Raditz glared at Vegeta but remained silent. Now was not the time nor the place. Raditz was overjoyed his brother and sister-in-law were on the mend. He would settle things with the arrogant Prince at a time and place of his choosing.

Suddenly static electricity filled the air. A swirling blue portal appeared of which stepped a weary and disheveled young woman with long auburn hair. Carri from both her Power Woman memories and more recent time spent in the other universe recognized the young woman immediately, as did Duluma due to her Wonder Woman half.

"Lois, what are you doing here?" Carri asked sitting up further in bed as the portal slowly closed.

"I've come seeking help." Lois Lane said. She eyed the small collection of unfamiliar strange beings before pressing on. "You need to come with me. You're my only hope."

"To do what?" Duluma asked.

"To stop him. I fear you're the only ones who can now that the League is gone." Lois said an expression of sheer devastation marred her dirty features.

"Stop who?" Goku asked. "Is he strong?"

Lois ignored the last comment. Seriously, who could think of such things when so much was at stake? Emotionally steadying herself as best she could, Lois answered his question, "Superman." Her response elicited gasps of disbelief from Carri and Duluma. "If we don't stop him soon my universe, your universe, and potentially an infinite number of others are doomed."
