Capsule Corp, morning
"You aren't going to help me, seriously?" Lois Lane said incredulously. After a fresh change of clothes, she sat at a table sipping coffee while wearing a Capsule Corp jumpsuit. She was surrounded by the Z Fighters who she had told her story to in full. "You stole four of our greatest warriors, and Waller," Amanda Waller glared at the other woman but said nothing for the time being. "And then refuse to help us, thanks for nothing."
"No one stole Wonder Woman. She chose to fusion with Bulma Brief creating me." Duluma said deeply offended by the implications of what Lois said.
"Or me, Power Girl would have died unless Chi Chi fused with her to make me," Carri said.
"And I stayed because of the cuteness of my darlings Chiaotzu and Tien Shinhan, Reporter of Lois," Starfire said tickling Chiaotzu's head which caused him to giggle.
"My wife and mom didn't really belong with you guys they belong here with us." Goku pointed out.
"Whatever," Lois grumbled. "What I can say with certainty is after Superman's aborted journey to your universe he changed drastically; he became cold and distant. Everything went wrong. He was a defender of justice who became a purveyor of injustice in my world. I loved him until he changed."
"Um, that's poetic and all but we have our own problems," Krillin said.
"Haven't you been listening?" Lois said becoming more perturbed. "Superman is building a machine so he can conquer universes other than ours. He's a threat to us all. Can't you send someone, anyone, to help us stop him?"
"Sorry, but this planet isn't exactly in good shape either. The vast majority of our people were wiped out by Darkseid and a demon named Towa when they attacked. There is also the issue of a looming crisis that I'd rather not discuss with an outsider. We can't leave our Earth undefended for who knows how long." Duluma patiently explained.
"Very well, I see there is no getting through to you people." Lois sighed. She rose from her seat and walked a few paces away to a spot where Gohan and Zangya were playing with Dende. "I didn't want to do this, but you leave me no other choice, scorpion!" She said into her wristwatch.
Quicker than quick three shimmering figures appeared. Batman, Nightwing, and Red Hood grabbed Dende, Zangya, and Gohan vanishing with them before anyone could react including the startled kids. To the surprise of everyone, Vegeta slammed Lois against the nearest wall getting ahead of Duluma, and the still weakened Carri and Goku. Lois struggled feebly but to no avail.
"I'm only going to say this once, woman. Bring them back or you die!" Vegeta hissed.
"I can't. The universe hopper devices work by physical proximity. You'll have to retrieve the children yourselves." Lois wheezed barely choking out words around Vegeta's forearm that pressed down painfully on her windpipe.
"Which was your plan all along, wasn't it?" Duluma said.
"I had hoped you'd help us out of the goodness of your hearts but Batman thought otherwise. I'm glad I listened." Lois wheezed. "Vegeta is it? Could you kindly remove your elbow from my throat? I can't breathe."
"Give me one good reason why I shouldn't kill you, woman?" Vegeta snarled.
"You need me as a source on intel, a guide. Without my intel, you'll have no idea what you're walking into. My Earth has changed a great deal since any of you visited." Lois wheezed.
"She's right loathed as I am to admit it. Release her, darling." Duluma said.
With extreme reluctance, Vegeta complied. "Thanks," Lois said rubbing her bruised neck.
"Don't thank me. I did it for the children, not you. They are innocent. They shouldn't be involved in this." Duluma said.
"I'm sorry I truly am, but I had no choice. I must save everything I hold dear, surely you understand?" Lois said.
"There is always a choice," Carri said.
"Hey don't moralize at me. This is your fault. Superman was fine until he came here looking for you er I mean Power Girl, I mean you, ah, whoever." Lois said throwing her hands up in the air.
"Superman never came here. I think we'd remember if he did." Carri snapped. She was majorly ticked off at Lois for stealing her children along with poor little Dende.
"He came regardless of what you say," Lois said standing firm in her claim.
"This bickering is getting us nowhere," Gine said deciding a more conciliatory approach might work best. Being confrontational was simply not in her nature. "I'll accompany whoever goes to retrieve the children. I have firsthand knowledge of the other Earth that might be helpful."
"Mother, no," Raditz protest. "You can't risk it. Whoever goes might become stranded there. We lost half a lifetime together when Frieza destroyed our home."
"I need to help save my grandbabies and Dende, or I'll never forgive myself," Gine said gently stroking Raditz's face when he bent down. "Tell your stepfather I'll return when I can."
"Alright," Raditz mumbled still unhappy about having a stepfather.
"That's a good boy," Gine said.
"So, who all is coming along with us on this foolhardy journey?" Carri asked.
"You and Goku are recovering from the Heart Virus, you should stay here," Duluma said.
"We're going," Carri said Goku agreed. The tone of her voice made it clear there was no room for debate.
"Okay," Duluma said resigned to Carri's wishes. She turned to Lois. "How many people besides the wearer can that device transport between universes: what is its maximum number?"
"Five, any more and we risk being stuck in the void or so the person who invented it told me," Lois answered.
"We have our team: me, Vegeta, Carri, Goku, and Gine," Duluma said. "We should prepare and leave asap. The sooner we get our children back the better."
DC Earth
The Former Daily Planet Building Metropolis, morning
Security robots whizzed through the red sky surrounding the dull grey exterior of the behemoth structure that had once been the glittering Daily Planet Building. The slowing rotating golden globe that previously sat atop the structure had been replaced by a gaudy array of spikes that made up a sophisticated security communication/defense system. Below the formerly bustling streets were eerily silent. No one dared move unless instructed permitted by their overlords chief among them Superman the Magnificent, undisputed Overlord of Earth, Master of the Sol System, and Emperor of the burgeoning First Galactic Empire.
Inside the fearsome edifice to pride, Ginyu-Superman clad in his black uniform with its purple S Symbol and purple cape sat atop a throne made of platinum trimmed with gold and encrusted with precious gems. He was about to perform a task he found most odious. He must grovel before an indifferent smug alien menace or it would endanger his prize. On the right side of his throne stood the yellow costumed Reverse Flash on the left side of his throne stood his latest consort the Star Sapphire of Earth Carol Ferris. Projected from a holographic display pad on the floor ten feet in front of the raised dais on which the throne sat loomed a huge image of Brainiac Prime or rather his upper body.
"While others flee from me in terror you willing seek me out. Your newly found hubris never fails to fascinate me, Kal-El. When you possess such vast knowledge as I exceedingly few pleasures remain unraveling your enigmatic change of personality is one of them." The green-blue-skinned black-eyed image of Brainiac Prime said in his soft yet menacing voice. His words as usual were devoid of emotion instilled with cold ruthless logic as were his diabolically calculating actions. He smiled an insincere smile. "How unfortunate you will not submit to my mind probe, I suspect the results would be most illuminating." The bio-mechanical monster paused for the briefest of instants when no reaction was forthcoming from his target he continued. "Where are the Potrara Errings you promised in exchange for leaving your adopted world unmolested? When will they be mine? I grew weary of waiting."
"There has been a slight delay, oh great Brainiac," Ginyu-Superman said his voice full of faux respect.
"Yet another delay," Brainiac Prime said. "I am beginning to doubt your promise, Kal-El. Perhaps I should void our agreement, pillage your world of its uniqueness, leave it an empty dead shell floating through the void as I originally intended."
"If you do that you'll never obtain the Potara Earrings," Ginyu-Superman said.
"Perhaps," Brainiac Prime said noncommittally.
"Give me one more chance I beg of you, oh Great Brainiac. I will not fail again." Ginyu-Superman said.
Brainiac Prime's smile became more predatory. "Very well, I grant you one last chance to fulfill your promise. You have two of your solar days to obtain a pair of Potara for my collection or face the consequences of deceiving me." Brainiac Prime's eyes flash a vivid purple matching that of the LEDs that studded his bald head before the image faded away.
"Insufferable Tuffle Machine Mutant. I despise Tuffles and their creators. If he wasn't so freakishly powerful I'd put him in his place." Ginyu-Superman raged. He rose from his throne and paced around the chamber like a caged animal.
"Lord, I apologize if I speak out of turn. How will we deal with Brainiac upon his appending arrival in our system in two days? There is little chance we can give Brainiac what he desires. We'll require a suitably unique substitution something he'll be interested in if we are to negotiate with him." Reverse Flash said. "By every indication, our resources are insufficient to defeat him. You have barely been able to deal with one of his surrogates in the past on several occasions only surviving through a combination of pure luck and your wits."
Ginyu-Superman sped up to where Reverse Flash stood. He punched his minion into the wall behind the throne leaving a deep crater. When Reverse Flash stumbled to his feet he said. "Understood my lord. I shall not broach the subject again."
"I'll deal with Brainiac if arrives." Ginyu said collapsing onto his throne in a heap of worry and disappointment. "How is our attack upon Sadala progressing?" He asked Star Sapphire.
"The population of Sadala should be dealt with in a solar day two at most." Star Sapphire dutifully reported.
At the risk of another beating, Reverse Flash who had resumed his position to the right of the throne said. "With all due respect my lord, I do not understand your obsession with these Saiyans. They are peaceful people of little significance. I seriously doubt they could ever pose a threat to our ambitions."
"I have reason to believe otherwise. Saiyans are inherently dangerous. They are a pestilence that must be wiped out before it spreads causing untold destruction." Ginyu-Superman said. "This universe will be better off more secure without them, trust me. Saiyans are galactic vermin who should be extermination whenever possible."
A city in the Eastern Hemisphere of Salada, early evening
Sixteen-year-old Caulifla liked her best friend Kale a great deal she did but tonight the other girl was getting on her last nerve. Caulifla and Kake's relationship was more akin to sister than friends that is how close they were but even "sisters" had their disagreements. "Can we talk about something other than Superman for once?" Caulifla said.
"Oh, sorry, he's just so dreamy," Kale said in her typical soft tone. She blushed a deep red.
"I know you keep telling me," Caulifla said rolling her eyes. The pair were alone in the rec room basement of Caulifla's home. Both girls were neighbors who lived in a comfortable middle-class neighborhood of one of the most prosperous cities of Salada. Their lives were idyllic. "Look, it's fine you have a crush on him Kale but I don't. He's okay and all just not my type." Caulifla said.
"He's more than okay. He's so hot and so nice. He's perfect." Kale said breathily.
"Okay, okay, I've seen the shrine in your bedroom. I know you're the guy's biggest fangirl. I want to talk something else." Caulifla said her tail twitching in agitation. Like all Saiyans, Caulifla and Kale had tails both of which were brown-furred the most common type.
"Um, sure, have you played the new Space Persona game? You can be a Martian. Shapeshifting is so cool." Kale said.
"I prefer to be a Green Lantern. They get to beat up criminals, that's the life for me." Caulifla said smacking her fist into her palm.
"Not me, it's too violent," Kale said shivering.
"Don't be such a baby, Kale. Fighting is fun." Caulifla said.
"I don't think agree," Kale said shaking her head.
"Superman fights," Caulifla countered.
"Only when he has no other choice. Violence never solved anything." Kale insisted.
"Maybe not, but it sure can be fun." Caulifla grinned. "Let's play the new Space Persona game. You brought your copy, right?"
"Yup," Kale said smiling producing the game chip.
"Sweet," Caulifla said.
They spent the next few hours playing the game. They did not know it at the time but their carefree existence was about to end. At precisely 22:03 local time all hell broke loose.
Lead primarily by a group of Yellow Lanterns, a huge army of Kryptonian android drones (based on the design of the infamous Eradicator) attacked each major population center. They were utterly ruthless leveling cities and exterminating anyone they came across. Next came an unceasing carpet bombing by a huge fleet of starfighters. In under an hour, the surface of Salada was a sea of sorrowful flames. Another seven hours of almost unbelievable carnage later, only a few hundred Saiyans remained out of a population numbering nearly two billion. What would come to be known as the Genocide of Salada was complete.
Early Morning
"Why would anyone do this?" Kale said in tears after she was pulled from the rubble of what used to be her best friend's home by Caulifla and Caulifla's older brother Renso.
The three were lucky having been in the basement when the attack commenced. They had been buried alive but at least they were alive, unlike their parents (both sets) who died instantly. They surveyed a devastated landscape devoid of life or hope.
"We need to get out of here, keep moving," Renso said. Down the street, they observed the eyebeam lights of an android drone searching for survivors when it located a partially buried elder woman begging for help it burned her alive with its version of heat vision.
Kale attempted to gasp her cry was stifled by Caulifla's hand being placed over her mouth. "We can't draw attention or that will be us," Caulifla whispered in her ear Kale nodded her understanding. They were in terrible danger.
Once the android drone departed they carefully picked their way through the rubble. Exhausted and filthy by early afternoon they found a small group of other survivors numbering no more than ten. They had traveled who knows how far from their old street it was hard to tell when everything looked the same. It was not long before they heard some interesting chatter.
"Those frackin' robots are wearing Superman's symbol." One man said.
"Yeah, I noticed." Another man said.
"I think their leaders are Earthling using lantern rings." A woman said.
"Why would Superman or his Earthlings attack us? We never did anything to them. It makes no sense." Another woman said.
"Doesn't matter if it makes sense or not it's true. Earth has attacked us because Superman ordered them to I bet." The first man said loudly.
"I don't believe you. Superman would never do such a terrible thing. He's a hero." Kale said defending her idol who she refused could be responsible for such terrible cruelty.
"Some hero." A teenage boy about Kale's age said.
The agreement might have continued if not for the arrival of a young Green Lantern named Cabba. Cabba was a Saiyan the only one to become a Green Lantern or a "Space Cop". Cabba took stock of the situation.
"The Green Lantern Corps will be evacuating this planet within the hour. A flotilla should arrive shortly." Cabba said.
"You heard him people gather your things." Cabba's partner the gruff veteran Green Lantern Kilowog instructed.
"I need volunteers to help me search for any other survivors in this general area. Don't worry, you'll be safe with me." Cabba said most were not convinced. Kale, however, readily put up her hand followed by a less than enthusiastic Caulifla. Renso shrugged at Caulifla who scowled at him in return. Caulifla felt he needed to do something, anything rather than feel utterly helpless in the face of disaster.
"I'll stay here and guard this group until an evac team arrives," Kilowog said. "Be careful, kid."
"Will do," Cabba said giving Kilowog a thumbs-up.
Cabba, Caulifla, and Kale spent the next twenty minutes searching for anyone they could find. To kill time because she would rather not think about all the dead bodies they kept turning up (the smell was horrid), Caulifla kept asking Cabba about the Green Lantern Corps. He patiently answered each of her questions while they continued their sweep.
Meanwhile, Kale remained silent. Recent events gave her much to consider. Part of her refused to believe Superman was capable of such crimes but even she could not completely ignore the evidence to the contrary. He didn't do this, did he?
A partially ruined building that was somehow still standing crumbled causing a huge bang. The trio was startled but quickly relaxed. They should not have let down their guard. A small swarm of eight android drones drawn by the noise encircled them seemingly coming from nowhere. Cabba was confident he could handle the robots but not who arrived next; Sinestro fearsome leader of the Yellow Lanterns.
"Finally, a challenger I'll enjoy curb-stomping on this pitiful planet. Come on rookie, meet your fate." Sinestro taunted from above encased in the yellow glow of his ring.
Cabba took to the air after using his constructs to dispatch four of the eight android drones before doing so. "Find Kilowog, I need help!" Cabba shouted encased the green glow of his ring.
But rather than fleeing, Caulifla stood her ground. She reckless threw a punch at the nearest android drone which it absorbed without effect. In response, the android drone swatted Caulifla aside knocking her out cold when she hit her head on a rock. The four remaining robots simultaneously decided to vaporize Caulifla. Their eyebeams sizzled with building red energy.
Working on pure instinct, Kale tackled the closest android drone but it refused to be budge. The robot clubbed her back causing her to fall to her knees. Intense pain shot through Kale's slender form. She glanced over at the robots about to be vaporized her friend, she got angry very, very angry, angrier than she had ever been. A dam of pent-up emotions instead of Kale broke. With a defeating scream, Kale leaped to her feet all pain forgotten. Green tinged energy crackled around Kale as her body bulged with huge muscles and her eyes turned solid white ripping her soiled clothing. Bezerker Kale crushed the robot next to her with her bare hands she then did the same to the other three. She did not wince once when they fired their heat vision directly at her.
Intrigued, Sinestro easily overpowered the inexperienced Cabba strangling Cabba with yellow energy ropes until the youth passed out. "What do we have here, hmmm?" He pondered.
Sinestro in front of Bezerker Kale who decked him causing his energy aura to flicker then temporarily falter before it reestablished itself all be it flickering as if it might fail again. If Kale could have maintained her power boost she might very well have prevailed but it went away as soon as it came. Her body returned to normal she then fainted at Sinestro's feet.
"I think Lord Superman will find you and your two little friends most interesting, brute. No doubt he'll reward me when I deliver you three to him." Sinestro said scooping the unconscious Kale off the ground. He summoned two android drones to likewise carry away Cabba and Caulifla.

Author's Note One -
My creative consultant Gaara King of the Sand and I decided to alter the Saiyans of Universe Six or the DC Universe (in this case) quite a bit. We gave them tails and made them more peaceful to better contrast with their Universe Seven or Dragon Ball Universe counterparts.
Author's Note Two -
We decided to make Brainiac a Tuffle Machine Mutant in this story because he shares many parallels as do his unnamed creators (from the planet Colu who he destroyed) with the original plant-based Tuffles of GT and their progenitors. Ginyu recognized Brainiac as a type of "Tuffle Machine Mutant" (from Universe Six in his case) because King Cold would surely have had dealings with the plant people of Universe Seven because he ordered their destruction at the hands of his prized minions the Saiyans.
