DC Earth
Themyscira, dusk
"Hands where we can see them. Don't make any sudden moves." Ordered a black-haired brown-skinned shockingly young Amazonian captain. Duluma, Vegeta, Goku, Carri, and Gine found themselves on a beach encircled by large Amazon soldiers wearing what look to be high-tech body armor and brandishing energy rifles.
"You betrayed us, again. Why am I not surprised." Carri said.
"As I said before, you left me no choice," Lois said joining the group.
"Did they harm you, Ms. Lane?" The Captain asked.
"I'm fine," Lois said.
"For now," Vegeta said glaring at her.
"Before you think of trying anything these blasters are designed to kill Kryptonians and Martians. I'm sure they'll put a dent in whatever you are, pal." The captain said eyeing his tail.
"Perhaps," Vegeta said unimpressed by her threat.
"There has been a misunderstanding. I demand to speak with your Queen Hippolyta." Duluma said forcefully. She took a step forward.
"Ha, good luck, Queen Hippolyta is dead. Those pigs led by Superman from Man's World killed her when she refused to bend the knee along with Toria (Donna Troy). Wonder Girl (Cassie Sandsmark) tried to avenge them but she was also slain." The Captain said.
Duluma was rendered speechless. She felt numb at the news. Her family both by blood and by bond was wiped out. If only she had been here maybe they would have survived. She had failed them and Themyscira.
"You wear our traditional armor yet I do not recognize you. To what Amazon tribe do you belong?" The captain asked.
"To this tribe or at least I once did," Duluma said mustering all her resolve so she could continue. "My name is Duluma. I am a composite entity created by a joining of Diana princess of Themyscira and a brilliant scientist from another Earth named Bulma."
"Have you come here to help us slay Superman and his followers? The blood of our fallen demands vengeance." The captain said.
"They aren't here to help us," Lois said with a mirthless chuckle. "They are here to retrieve their children the Bat seized from their world."
"How dishonorable," The captain said shaking her head. "We would never employ such a tactic." She turned to Lois. "Why did you bring them here?"
"So they could not ditch me and run off before they helped us," Lois explained.
"We won't be blackmailed," Carri said.
"Excuse me, and you are?" The captain asked.
"Power Girl er Power Woman, sort of," Carri said.
"Ah, another composite entity I assume in this instance of Power Girl and a warrior from that other Earth?" The captain said.
"You assume correctly," Carri said. "My name is Carri and I am the Power Woman of my world. How did you know that I'm made from two warriors and not a warrior and a scientist like Duluma?"
"The way you carry yourself. Unlike Duluma, you are rather brash a trait befitting of a warrior." The captain said. "I apologize Ms. Lane brought you here against your will. Normally we would not accept men staining our island home for even a short time, however, our present situation dictates we be more flexible."
"What is your name?" Duluma asked.
"I am known as Yara. My full name from Man's World where my tribe resided before Superman destroyed our home there was Yara Flor." The captain said.
"Who is the current queen of the Themyscira?" Duluma asked.
"You are," The captain said. "Long have we awaited your return, Wonder Woman." At a signal from the captain, all the Amazon present fell to their knees bowing their heads in a sign of respect and submission. "Our weapons, our skills, and our lives are at your disposal. Do with them as you see fit."
Somewhere beneath Metropolis, morning
"They aren't human that much is certain." Mr. Terrific after finishing his initial examinations of Gohan, Zangya, and Dende. "I suspect the one with the tail to be part Kryptonian due to the way its blood sample reacts to Kryptonite. I have no idea what the other two are."
"Hey, we have names," Zangya said.
"Yeah, we aren't 'they' or 'it'," Gohan said.
"Um, guys maybe we shouldn't make them mad," Dende suggested meekly.
"Indeed, maybe you shouldn't." Lex Luthor said. Unlike Mr. Terrific who wore a simple lab coat over normal clothing Luthor was clad in shiny green and black armor. Lex turned his attention to Mr. Terrific. "Your findings are painfully obvious. We need answers, not speculation."
"How do suggest we get these answers?" Mr. Terrific said.
"By doing something more invasive," Lex said. "We test their abilities assuming they have any, discover their limitations."
"I am a scientist and a former medical doctor. I will not knowingly harm anyone least of all children." Mr. Terrific said firmly.
"This is war. We need every edge we can obtain by way of whatever means are necessary." Lex said curtly.
"No," Mr. Terrific said emphatically. "You can't do this, Luthor. I won't let you."
"We agreed, no names in front of the test subjects," Lex said angrily.
"They aren't 'test subjects'." Mr. Terrific said.
"They are to me." Lex insisted not backing down.
"They aren't to the rest of us." A new voice said. It belonged to the feared masked vigilante Red Hood. "They are bargaining chips who are not to be harmed, that's a direct order."
"Says who?" Lex said.
"Says the Bat, baldy." Red Hood snapped. "If you have a problem with following his orders, take it up with him."
"I think I will," Lex said storming off.
"Thanks for saving us from the scary guy," Gohan said.
"I didn't do it for you kids. Baldy could shish kabob the lot of you for all I care. My boss says you are not to be harmed I don't harm you or allow anyone else to harm you, simple as that." Red Hood said. His electronically distorted words caused the children to cower in fear. "Doc, how is the special project coming along? The bossman is getting anxious."
"It is progressing slowly which is to be expected given our limited resources." Mr. Terrific said. "If I had help things may progress faster."
"No can do. We can't yank anyone from the current duty roster right now." Red Hood said.
"If I could have more resources." Mr. Terrific offered instead.
"I'll see what I can do." Red Hood said. He glanced at the frightened children. "Do you need any help guarding our guests?"
"No, they are quite timid overall." Mr. Terrific said.
"Alrighty, see you later, doc," Red Hood said.
"Later," Mr. Terrific said. Red Hood departed.
"Excuse me, sir, what is going to happen to us?" Zangya asked.
"From what I understand, if your loved ones cooperate you'll be returned to them." Mr. Terrific said.
"And if they don't?" Gohan asked.
"I'm sure they will." Mr. Terrific said with a warm smile. "Either way, you have nothing to fear from me, little ones. No harm shall come to you while I am around."
"But what about your friend?" Gohan said.
"The scary bald guy in the green and black armor." Dende clarified.
"You need not worry. I can handle him." Mr. Terrific assured them but they were not sure they believed him.
Former Daily Planet Building now Ginyu-Superman's Global Headquarters several hours later, afternoon
"We have less than two days, will the Star Magnifier be ready in time, Doctor Sivana?" Ginyu-Superman inquired of his primary scientific advisor.
"Yes, yes, it'll be ready, lord." Dr. Sivana answered. Atop a tall ladder, he busied himself with welding together international components of a truly massive device that resembled a telescope.
"Good," Ginyu-Superman said smiling manically. "With the power of the heavens imparted to me, I'll be truly unstoppable."
"If your body does not burn out from overexertion caused by cellular solar energy saturation." Dr. Sivana said stopping what he was doing. "Even your fantastic biology has its limits, lord. You may not be able to absorb and assimilate such staggeringly high amounts of solar radiation in such a short amount of time."
"Let me worry about that, Dr. Sivana. Your only concern is making sure the Star Magnifier is ready." Ginyu-Superman said.
Dr. Sivana nodded. "If the experiment is successful you will become a hundred times stronger perhaps far more."
"And be able to singlehandedly pulverize the likes of Brainiac Prime, no doubt," Ginyu-Superman said with glee. "Making the risk involved an acceptable one."
"If it works." Dr. Sivana reminded, much to his master's displeasure.
"It had better work, for your sake," Ginyu-Superman said.
"I live only to serve." Dr. Sivana said bowing low after he descended from the ladder.
"And to satisfy your perverse 'scientific curiosity." Ginyu-Superman laughed. "An indulgence I happily grant so long as your talents serve my purposes first and foremost."
Ginyu-Superman's Throne Room sometime later, afternoon
"Why have you brought this Saiyan before me? She should be dead or laboring in the Moon mines alongside her remaining compatriots." Ginyu-Superman said from atop his throne with a yawn. He was bored. To his right stood Reverse Flash to his left stood Star Sapphire.
"Forgive me, Lord Superman." The leader of the Yellow Lantern Corps Sinestro with a low bow. "This girl nearly bested me in combat." At his feet bound by glowing yellow chains lay a thoroughly miserable Kale her eyes red and puffy from constant crying.
"Perhaps you've lost your touch, Sinestro." Reverse Flash snickered.
Ignoring the obvious provocation, Sinestro continued. "A faint yet distinctive green energy emitted from her when she attacked. It was not Green Lantern energy nor generated from any other external source. It came from within. Her unusual strength even by Saiyan standards will prove useful if you can harness it, Lord Superman."
"Hmmm, if what you say is true Sinestro, she could indeed prove useful." Ginyu-Superman regarded Kale his interest aroused. "Dr. Sivana has been looking for a candidate to undergo experimental fusion. If this Saiyan were to be paired with someone of unwavering loyalty we could create a powerful new ally."
"Star Sapphire do you want to volunteer?" Reverse Flash teased wickedly.
"Gross, she isn't nearly attractive enough." Star Sapphire said. "I have a much better idea. How about you fuse with her?"
"No thanks, I rather enjoy being me and being male." Reverse Flash said.
"I'm sure Dr. Sivana will find an appropriate candidate," Ginyu-Superman said.
"Why?" Kale said so softly only Ginyu-Superman heard her thanks to his super hearing.
"Why what?" Ginyu-Superman asked.
"Why are you doing this?" Kale asked her tear-filled gazing meeting his stern gaze.
"Because I want to and because I can." Ginyu-Superman bluntly replied.
"You were my favorite superhero, the best superhero," Kale said.
"I changed," Ginyu-Superman said.
"Please change back," Kakle said fighting back more tears.
"I prefer myself this way," Ginyu-Superman said coldly.
"I don't," Kale said averting her gaze. "Where are my sister and the Saiyan Green Lantern who helped us?"
"They're dead," Sinestro said. "I only need you alive, not them."
"NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!" Kale screamed a blast of clear energy tinged with green sparks ushered forth from her body. It took everyone by surprise knocking them around the chamber. "I'll send you monsters to join them!" Kale threatened her eyes turning white as her body visibly bulked up.
Only quick thinking from Reverse Flash prevented Kale who had broken free of her chains from wreaking havoc. He delivered thirty ultra-fast punches to her jaw knocking her out. Sinestro with his ring once again trapped Kale in yellow chains this time using three times as many as before.
"Take her to the holding area next to Dr. Sivana's laboratory. Warn the guards about her rage power." Ginyu-Superman ordered scrambling back to his throne.
"At once, Lord Superman," Sinestro said with a final bow. She used a rope of yellow energy emitted from his ring to drag away the unconscious Kale.
Age 766
Dragon Ball Earth
Capsule Corp, afternoon
"Why did you call us here? Is there news?" Tien Shinhan asked.
"Are they returned?" Starfire asked.
"No such luck," Waller said. Her Saiyan tail thrashing around wildly indicating her highly agitated state. Waller being the only other scientist, Duluma left her minding the store as it were. "The Earth satellite net Duluma and I deployed last year has detected a large vessel headed our way. They are not answering any of my hails. I suspect their intentions to be hostile."
"Why do you suspect that?" Yamcha asked.
"Because of this," Waller said. "The message they are broadcasting is in Namekian but I've managed to translate it." She played back the recording via her console.
"Surrender your Dragon Balls to his majesty Lord Slug and you will not be harmed. Resist and you will be destroyed." A scratchy voice instructed.
"Lord Slug I've never heard of him," Radditz said stroking his chin thoughtfully. "He must have steered clear of the Frieza Empire and other Cold Clan holdings."
"We should ask our Namekian friends about this Lord Slug," Chiaotzu said.
"I already have. They say he is bad news, an outcast who became a conqueror long ago. They assumed he had died of old age. It would appear they are mistaken." Piccolo said.
"Either that or someone is using his name to frighten us into submission," Yamcha said.
"Whatever the case we need to be ready, which is why I called you here," Waller said. "With the others gone, it is our responsibility to protect Earth. The ship will arrive tonight. We have until then to prepare."
