Invasion of the League of Villains
Estelle stood with Class 1A while they cooked their meals. The third day of training was intense, but she had made a lot of progress. She had managed to complete her fire bullet move and had spent the rest of the day working on her metal bending.
"Wow, Bakugo, you're really good with that knife. It's weird," Ochako observed.
"What do you mean it's weird! How can you guys be so bad at everything!?" Bakugo bellowed out in rebuttal as he chopped vegetables with inhuman speed.
Estelle was walking with Shoto, carrying ingredients, when he stopped by Midoriya. He questioned why he was asking for All Might. She listened while the green-haired male explained his reasoning, which was Kota.
"Kota hates superhumans and everything related to quirks. I tried to talk to him, but I think I just made things worse."
"I can't lie. You did. Kota cried till he fell asleep when you left last night," Estelle deadpanned, causing Midoriya to drop his head in dismay.
"Oh! I'm sorry. That wasn't my intention. Though, I was wondering what All Might would have said. What would you have done, Todoroki?"
"It depends", Shoto started.
"Of course! Sorry, I asked!" Midoriya yelled out in preparation for a smackdown. Shoto continued like he didn't hear him.
"To have a complete stranger try to change your mindset sounds like a pretty irritating conversation. What matters are actions. Like, Estelle staying with him when he was emotionally vulnerable. You have to show him what you are trying to prove, right? If you're going to rely on words alone, then they better be compelling. What you say doesn't matter as much as what you do."
"Your right. I went about this the wrong way. How can I, a stranger, say anything to him?" Midoriya laughed to himself in disbelief.
"I don't know what your goal is when it comes to this child. But it sounds to me like you should not be sticking your nose in a delicate situation. You tend to cut into the heart of people's feelings. It can be annoying."
"Amen to that, Shoto", Estelle appreciated.
"Right, sorry about that", Midoriya strained with a sweatdrop.
"You guys! Your hands aren't moving! We'll never make the best stew if you stop now," Iida shouted out to the rest of the students.
Estelle hissed at him in response, "Shut it, Four-eyes."
"That language is not appropriate for a hero trainee such as yourself!"
"Do you want me to kick your ass?"
"No, thank you!"
"Then shut it!"
"Yes, ma'am!"
"It's time for...The Test of Courage!" Pixie-bob announced with vibrating excitement.
Estelle watched on, bored with the explanation but chuckled when Tokoyami muttered, "Revelry in the dark."
"Amen to that, Birdboy", Estelle murmured back. Ochako eyed at the pair with a sweatdrop.
The class all stood next to their assigned pairs. Estelle was alongside Midoriya while she watched Bakugo try to switch places with Ojiro. After his attempt failed, he rushed up to Midoriya with a dark expression. Estelle inwardly smiled at his antics; they still amused her.
"Deku! Switch with me! No way in hell will I be paired with IcyHot!" He growled while shaking Midoriya manically. Shoto soundlessly watched behind him before stepping forward calmly.
"I could switch with you, Midoriya?" He asked, his eyes trailing to Estelle, who watched the scene with boredom.
Bakugo turned around abruptly and growled, "No way will I be paired with Deku! I'd rather be stuck with you. Come on!"
Estelle heard Tokoyami once again, "Revelry in the dark."
"Amen to that, Birdbrain."
"Will you stop with the insults?"
"Nope."
"Revelry in the dark."
"Amen to that, Beaky."
A cluster of pairs had left the group and made their way through the forest. Estelle was with the remaining teams who were waiting for their turn. Suddenly, she felt vibrating through the ground and suffered a pit in her stomach.
'Something wasn't right.'
It wasn't enough for her to get a clear reading, so she quickly sat on the grass to remove her shoe. Her classmates looked at her strangely since her attitude had abruptly changed.
"What's that foul smell?" Pixie-bob questioned after sniffing the air.
Classmates murmured to each other in theory about what it could be before Estelle grunted out, "Quiet! I'm trying to focus!"
They looked at her in bewilderment once again before Midoriya gasped in understanding. He watched, fascinated while she used her powers.
Estelle scanned the clearing to find seven more people than there should be. She hissed in understanding when her eyes flew open.
"Intruders, seven of them. All moving to different locations. Get everyone out of there! Now!" Estelle commanded.
Pixie-bob levitated in the air instantly after Estelle finished her sentence and flew backwards. The remaining classmates turned around in bewilderment, only to find villains standing over the hero who now laid passed out on the soil.
"First, let's get rid of these feral cats", A villain declared.
Mineta stepped back in fear as he questioned how the villains had found them. Midoriya ran forward in hopes of helping the hero but was stopped by two other members of the wild wild pussycats.
Estelle hurriedly scanned the area for Kota with her earthbending and gulped at the fact he was at his hideout.
'He wasn't alone.'
Quickly putting her shoe back on, she gazed at Midoriya, and they shared the same rattled eyes. Fearful for the little boy who was in trouble.
Estelle stood and turned away, unimpressed by the villain's display as he introduced himself as a subject of Stain.
"I know you", He continued, pointing to Iida. "You were one of those self-righteous brats who attacked stain in Hosu!"
He subsequently turned towards Estelle, his demeanour switching rapidly. "You are safe, little girl! A true hero for healing the great Stain even if he was labelled a villain. You can go."
Estelle jeered. Like she would show some appreciation for that.
Mandalay turned to Iida and ordered him and the others back to camp. Estelle and Midoriya shared a determined nod and told the others to go on without them.
"Mandalay! Kota. I know where he is!" Midoriya yelled.
Estelle flew above the trees with Midoriya on her back since It was the fastest way to reach Kota.
"Uh. Did we really have to do this?" Midoriya called out, the wind whipping by the duo.
"Yes. I know it's a bit demoralising, but there's a villain with Kota. We need to get to him, stat."
"A villain?!"
"Yeah, a strong one."
Estelle and Midoriya gaped in disbelief at the large man about to impart a killing blow when they reached the area. Midoriya quickly jumped off her back and used his quirk to move Kota out of the way swiftly. The two boys hit the ground with a thud, escaping death by a hair. Estelle landed next to them to make sure the child was safe. She sighed in relief that he was okay.
"I recognise you. You were on the list." The villain affirmed, walking forward and gazing at the male teen. Estelle looked down at Midoriya to find that he was battling with himself. He wasn't sure if he should fight the villain or protect Kota.
Understanding his dilemma, Estelle put his grievance to rest "I'll take care of Kota. Go."
"You really think you can save this little brat? That does sound like something a wannabe hero would say. Your kind sure likes to mouth off about justice. Your name is Midoriya, right? Perfect. We were told we could take some initiative and kill you. But first, a little torment. Show me your blood," The villain rambled on in his speech before speeding towards the green-haired male and throwing a hit, which connected. Midoriya pelted into the stone wall from the impact and yelled out in pain.
"Whoopsie", The villain taunted before continuing ", Oh, yeah. Hey, maybe you could help me out a little bit first. Do you know where the kids Bakugo and Estelle might be around here?"
Midoriya and Estelle stilled.
'What does he want with them" Midoriya wondered. Estelle had the same view.
"I still have a job to do after all", The villain carried on while smashing his fist towards Midoriya and hitting the wall, missing the male completely.
It wasn't long before the villain Kicked Midoriya into the wall once again. Estelle watched with a wince at the beating Midoriya was beginning to get. She protectively stood in front of Kota whilst he clutched onto her back, crying as he watched the scene.
Ignoring the villain's rambling, Estelle ushered Kota to stand behind her before throwing a fire bullet right into the villain's torso. He tore into the wall with a yelp and gazed down at the small bleeding hole on his body. Midoriya attempted to get up in the free time he was given. The villain scowled at the emotionless girl.
"When I said I wanted blood, I didn't say my own", He growled.
Estelle scoffed, "You never specified."
Midoriya used the distraction to throw a punch, green lightning surrounding him as he aimed for the shoulder. He was stopped by a giant arm, undoubtedly showing that the force was ineffective.
"What? Is that all you've got? Your fast, but you're not strong enough to hurt me," The large man exclaimed with a grin. Throwing his arm, he forced Midoriya to skid through the ground and land with an agonising thud.
"My quirk affects my speed and strength exponentially that my muscle fibres can't even be contained within my skin. I guess what I'm trying to say is that you are an inferior version of me!" He bellowed out as he forced his foot through the ground, allowing a wave of rock to fly up in Midoriya's sphere. Midoriya evaded the earth in response.
Estelle couldn't just watch anymore. She raised her hands and twirled her fingers which allowed a barrier between the villain and Midoriya. The man growled in agitation and attempted to use his fists to break the wind wall in front of him. His hands snapped back since the knife-like air cut into his muscled skin. Turning to Estelle, he moved forward in confidence to take her down.
Kota immediately hurdled forward in front of the girl and asked, "Remember water hose? My mom and dad. Did you torment the two of them, too? Before you killed them?"
Estelle's breath stilled whilst Midoriya gawked up at Kota with wide eyes. The stupefied villain looked down at the child. "Huh? Were those losers your parents? Well then, this must be fate. They Are the reason I have an artificial eye."
"This is all your fault. Nothing in the world is right anymore, and it's because of crazy people like you!"
"Little kids are always so quick to say it's someone else's fault. Don't get the wrong idea. It's not like I took them out because I was mad about the eye thing. I just wanted to kill people. They tried to stop me. What happened was a result of all of us doing our best. The real travesty is promising to do something you aren't able to do. That's why your dear old mommy and daddy died!" He roared out as he directed another devastating blow.
Midoriya soared up into the air to land another attack. Estelle took the opening to use the earth to hold the villain in place on the ground, effectively making him immobile.
"You ruined his life, and you won't take the blame?" Midoriya cried out in question.
"You think you can hit me with that puny quirk?"
"It doesn't matter whether I can do it or not! A hero's job is to risk his life to turn his promises into a reality!" Midoriya howled, charging his powers to land a decisive blow. Estelle aided his punch with condensed air around his fist to amplify the assault.
In the aftermath of the blow, the cliff exploded, rocks flying everywhere as Estelle used her body to shield Kota from the debris. She had entirely forgotten to use her powers to cover the attack in her frenzy. Rocks pelted into her side, forcing her forward, but she continued to stay in place for the child in her arms.
Midoriya dashed towards them to check if the pair were okay. "You both alright?"
"Thank you for-"
"Let's get back to camp; it's not far" Midoriya cut him off. Estelle could see he was too doped up on adrenaline to notice.
The trio's eyes widened when the villain busted out of the rocks. Estelle stood up at that moment and elevated her hand to turn Midoriya's head towards her.
"You are injured. I will fight now. Take care of Kota."
"No!" Kota trembled out. Estelle turned to face the little boy with a kind smile. Her heart clenched at the terror written across his face.
'How has this little boy crawled so deeply into my heart in such little time?' She questioned herself. Looking down at the bracelet she had on, Estelle hastily shook it off her wrist.
"Hey, remember what I told you yesterday? I'm not dying anytime soon. Here. Take this. I want this back when this is all over, okay? My promise to you."
"Okay," The child whimpered, taking the bracelet with him.
Estelle trudged forward and nodded to Midoriya, which he returned.
"Okay, now I'm serious!" The villain screeched out within another monologue Estelle had ignored. Midoriya's uneasiness only skyrocketed at the words. To him, he used all of All Might's power, and it didn't work. How would Estelle be able to keep up with that?
Estelle lit her body from head to toe, the fire-resistant clothing underneath remaining while her main outfit burned away.
"Oh, show me what you can do, little girl!"
The villain threw a punch towards the boys. Midoriya jumped out of the way with Kota as Estelle sailed into the air. Rocks one again flew everywhere from the blast, and Estelle took the opportunity to attack. Taking all the rocks that were gradually falling back to the ground, Estelle grabbed onto all of them with her earth bending and created a large boulder. Using her air abilities, she placed a large amount of concentrated air to cover the large rock. Charging and throwing the piece down on top of the villain, a colossal blast radiated through the air. The soil crumbled from the impact.
The villain crashed into the cliff beneath him as the weight of the boulder landed on top. The condensed air added to the weight an excruciating amount. The air whipped by him like knives, physically cutting into him while he bled.
Growling, the villain struck through the boulder and landed back to the top; Estelle could see that attack had done some damage. He wasn't invincible like he portrayed.
Estelle let out a massive stream of fire onto the large male causing him to shriek as he scorched. The muscles darkened when the flames touched them. Estelle amplified the fire with her air to ensure it weakened the villain.
Taking the water that remained in the air, Estelle created a thick, long whip and moved to strike. She hardened the water to ice just before it connected to the villain, which caused the icicles to be embedded onto his skin.
Kota and Midoriya watched the scene with reverence.
She was using her body like a bullet in itself. Estelle flew down face first, directly onto the man. Before she could land her onslaught, she forced herself to a skidding stop as Midoriya rushed forward to land another stroke with his quirk. She cursed him in her mind; he was already injured. Why didn't he let her handle this!
Midoriya was crushed to the floor since he was overwhelmed by the villain's power. Estelle moved to interfere when Kota used his quirk to spray water on the villain, rushing forward in the line of fire.
Midoriya's eyes grew at Kota's bravery, and he murmured, "I won't let you hurt Kota."
Midoriya's strength amplified by the hundreds as he overpowered the villain entirely and tore him apart with his attack. Estelle aided him once again with a burst of concentrated air, ensuring the villain's defeat in case it wasn't enough. The villain attempted to stay in place against the sheer force placed against him. Estelle raised her own fist, moved to his side and landed a powerful punch directly onto his face.
The final blow caused the villain's footwork to loosen, and he flew across the cliff and smashed directly into the stone cove.
Midoriya and Estelle stood side by side while they panted for air. Midoriya let out an emotional scream.
Kota watched them from the edge of the cliff.
'My heroes.'
