Shared Moments
Estelle frowned at the bubblegum female as the teenager stared at her with large, innocent eyes. Estelle was training Ochako again, with Kaminari, Kirishima and Izuku practising separately from the two on her right. Ochako's face was downturned as she tried to figure out what she had done wrong.
"Ochako, your training is here."
"I know that..."
"So why is your mind all the way over there?" Estelle questioned, her finger pointed to her right where Izuku was working with a football.
"Huh?! No! It's nothing."
Trying to comprehend what was happening with the girl, Estelle gazed over at the trio of males with pursed lips. "Did you have an argument with Izuku?"
Laughing awkwardly, Ochako gave a robotic shake to her head as she raised her hands defensively. "No! No! It's just I really admire Deku and his work ethic. I was distracted for a moment; it won't happen again!"
Confused, Estelle grunted. "So why are you wasting your training admiring his? Wait a second..."
Frozen as Estelle's eyes turned back to her, Ochako gained a sweat as Estelle's aura turned pitch black. Shrinking back from the seething atmosphere, all Ochako could see was the dark eyes of Estelle peeking out from the abyss she had created. "Are you telling me that I'm not training you hard enough, soldier?"
"No! No! You're pushing me to my limits!"
"It doesn't seem like it! Don't think I overlooked the fact the females aren't in the top ranks athletically. Drop and give me twenty!"
"Yes!"
"Yes...What!?"
"YES, CAPTAIN."
"Wow, Estelle is pushing Uraraka to her limits, huh?" Izuku questioned with a sweatdrop as he turned back to Kirishima and Kaminari.
"Yeah, she's pushing her harder than anyone else."
Estelle gazed at Ochako with satisfaction as she watched the female eat from her plate like a sloth.
"Um, Estelle. I think you broke Ochako," Izuku grumbled, his eyes flickering back to the dead female on the other side of the table.
Estelle's face remained blank as she continued eating her food without a care in the world. "Good."
"Ha. Ha. You didn't need to go that hard. I've never seen you that aggressive before! You normally train with us so calmly." Kaminari wondered out loud after giving his robotic and fearful laugh.
Realising that they were all questioning her change of tactics, Estelle looked up from her plate with a deadpan. "The females in this world irritate me."
"Huh!?" The class cried out, offended.
"Let me finish! This world treats female heroes differently, and therefore they are forced to the rotten standard rather than break the mould given to them. This bias has been ingrained in you all since you were children; well, most of you," Estelle continued, her mind drifting back to the fight with Bakugo and Ochako.
"Females in this class have untapped potential. It irritates me to see them so low on the power scale. My world isn't so foolish to do something like that. So, if I have to be more aggressive to get them to break, only to build them back up again. I will."
Silence.
"Plus, Ochako deemed it fit to question my training. I thought it fit to teach her a lesson."
Sweatdrops flew around the room as they listened to her last reason. Oh, Ochako. You seemed to have released a beast.
"But, she handled it. I must say, I am impressed. I hope to see you continue to grow."
"Thank you, captain."
"At ease, cadet."
"I never thought you would be a feminist, Estelle."
"The hell is a feminist?" Estelle questioned with raised brows.
"It's pretty much equality."
"Oh, well then. Yes. Anything else is just ludicrous."
Estelle was heading to her dorm room when she was surprised by a hand gripping her arm. Moving her body reflexively to counterattack, Estelle was met with ruby eyes as the male held her against the wall tightly.
Taking a deep breath to relax her body and lungs, Estelle managed to hold her movement at bay in relief. She was thankful she didn't hurt the blonde-haired fool. "You idiot, you know not to do something like that."
"Tch, I trust you."
Stilling in surprise, Estelle's body was frozen in time once she heard those words. They so effortlessly left his mouth that Estelle was jealous. How could he put that much faith in her? He shouldn't, especially when it doesn't end well.
"I'm right here, y'know? Stop escaping to your head."
Sighing, Estelle realised that Bakugo was still holding her against the wall; his arms wrapped around her waist. Raising a brow, Estelle expected Bakugo to back away now that she had acknowledged it, but her confusion only grew when he tightened his grip. "You were trying to avoid me again."
"I don't know what you're talking about," Estelle grunted, attempting to shuffle out of the blonde's hold.
"You. Are. Not. Doing. This." Bakugo growled out, his head down towards her ear as he sternly demanded this to be over with. He wished Estelle would stop fighting him every chance she got. But, at the same time, she wouldn't be Estelle if she didn't. It lit a fuse in him like nothing else ever had before, sheer willpower flowing out of him just to make her stay. God, he just wanted her to stay. He hated watching her run away from her every chance she could because he knew that Estelle wanted to be there just like he does.
He hates the fact she can't accept that.
He knew what these emotions indicated, but Bakugo wasn't ready to delve too deep into them. He didn't want to, not if Estelle would leave him at the end. It was still early, and he could be wrong. Bakugo had never experienced emotions like that before, and honestly, he was still getting to know the girl. Bakugo couldn't have these feelings already; he couldn't be invested already. He'll just have to wait and see how it played out, but at the very least, he wasn't going anywhere.
She wasn't getting rid of him.
Brushing his nose against her neck, Bakugo smirked at the slight shiver that trembled through her body. Trailing up, Bakugo departed to look straight into Estelle's eyes. "I told you before. You ain't getting rid of me that easily. You're fucking stuck with me."
"Bakugo, please."
"Shut up! Stop lying to yourself, goddammit. We're done talking about this. Lets's go."
"We aren't."
"Tch, you'll never forget to bring it up. For now, then."
Pulling her into the common room, Estelle had a stubborn glare on her face as Bakugo forcefully placed her on top of him on the couch. Grumbling when he practically slammed her head onto his lap, Bakugo was stubborn himself as he basically pinned her down on top of him.
Accepting her position, Estelle decided to get comfortable and shuffle on his thighs. Ignoring the blush on the blonde face, Estelle tried to settle in a comfortable place.
Bakugo's mind trailed back to the first time she had ever done this. It wasn't with him, though, but with a pillow when she initially arrived at Heights Alliance. He had found the scene adorable as she shuffled around the couch like a toddler to get comfortable. And, he realised at this point that he was the pillow.
Flushing redder as Estelle looked cuter doing it with him than the cushion, Bakugo's same annoyance arrived when she couldn't find a comfy position. Scowling, Bakugo virtually lifted her off of him and laid down on the couch. Plopping her back on so she was laying on his chest like a koala, he muttered, "Better?"
"Hmm-hmm," Estelle mumbled back in agreement as she snuggled on top of him.
"Tch, you say that you don't want to be around me," Bakugo grunted.
"I shouldn't."
"Shut up."
Estelle stilled slightly when she felt Bakugo's fingertips on her back. His fingertips, trailing lightly on her spine, automatically made her melt into the male. Feeling the faint vibration of his chuckle, Estelle gave a slight pout at his reaction.
"You like that, hm?"
Estelle stayed quiet out of stubborn pride; she could not keep allowing herself to do this. But the blonde just always made it so difficult. Doing things like this just made it all the more problematic.
"So, why do you fight me so much?"
Placing her hands to the sides of Bakugo to push her body upwards. Estelle gazed into Bakugo's eyes as she stated, "I estimate that I'll be gone in half a year."
Halting his fingertips that were still playing shapes on her back, Bakugo's eyes turned fierce as they gazed into Estelle. Feeling a hitch in her breath, Estelle watched as the blonde's face hardened with his subsequent response. "That soon?"
"Yeah. The red cloak from the league of villains is from my world. He likely knows where the bridge is. If I can defeat him, then there is a huge chance I will be able to get a location. Once that has been done, there's no reason for me to be here. Half a year seems about right."
Estelle felt Bakugo's hand flat on her back, but she made a surprised noise when the male pushed her back down on top of him with a harsh grip. Slowly, his hand trailed around her neck as he gripped her close to him.
"Bakugo. You need to let me go. We should stop this whilst we have the chance."
Grimacing at the tighter grip he had on her. She heard Bakugo snarl, "No way in hell. It's already too late for that. I'm not going anywhere."
Widening her eyes in shock. Estelle felt a blind panic as she tried to shuffle out of his hold. Startled by the sudden moving, Bakugo let go of Estelle for a moment as she sat up, straddling his lap.
Bakugo's heart sank at the look on her face.
Observing the panic in her eyes, Bakugo watched as Estelle fumbled on her words. Bakugo could tell that his words intimidated her, and he understood why. Estelle did everything she could to ensure no attachments would be formed. But, there was no possible way she couldn't since she's been around everyone too much. But, she was afraid to admit it, her heart set on the destination of her own world.
Before she could release a coherent sentence, Estelle's phone rang. Shakingly lifting the device to her ear, Estelle answered with a stutter. "Shinsou?"
Bakugo stilled at her words, his fingers itching to snatch the device off her to either hit loudspeaker or hang up immediately.
"Oh, I'm not busy tomorrow afternoon? I could train you then?"
Feeling a rising heat in his stomach, the blonde tried to comprehend that the nerd was immediately accepted again, whereas Bakugo had to drag her out of Heights Alliance. What did that idiot have that he didn't? She should accept his invitation, no questions asked, so why does Shinsou not have any problems?
The festering thoughts gave rise to emotions Bakugo was not familiar with.
Jealousy.
Hearing the phone hang up. Bakugo grabbed onto Estelle's collar to bring her forward. Staring into her eyes sternly, he rasped. "So, that boy is fine to hang out with. But it's not okay when it's me?"
Estelle's eyes widened at his words. Wondering why they were having this conversation again, she voiced, "That's different. Shinsou is just training?"
"Just training, is it?"
"Yes, it's different."
Bakugo tried to understand what was different about it? Was it because Estelle was assured he wouldn't stop her from leaving, whereas Bakugo would? Or was she just saying that to make him feel better? "Whatever, but I meant what I said. I ain't going nowhere."
Feeling her collar pulled again, Estelle lurched forward, so her nose was touching his. Feeling his firey and determined eyes stare into her own with such resolution filled the pit of her stomach with an emotion she could not recognise. The heat filled her whole body, and her cheeks flushed from the sheer determination flowing off of him.
Flushing pinker when his eyes flickered down to her lips. Bakugo gave a broad and manic grin from the look of her face. But he knew she had been scared off enough from his words. So, he leaned back and brought her to his chest again as if nothing had happened.
Estelle took a deep breath to recover from the moment. Her mind whirring in the possibilities of what the hell just happened.
Waking up within Bakugo's arms wasn't a shock for Estelle when she shot up from the couch. She took multiple deep breaths to calm her overactive mind; Estelle tried to relax her body before she woke the blonde up.
Wincing at the fact she had dug her nails too deeply into her palms, Estelle wiped the blood on her nightgown as she looked outside. It was still dark; she would guess it was the middle of the night.
Tilting her head back to Bakugo, who groaned in disapproval. The sleepy male reached out to Estelle and pulled her back into his embrace. Blushing slightly at his quick move, Estelle remained still as she stared into his chest.
"Nightmare?" Bakugo rumbled, his voice gruff since he was still half asleep.
Estelle gave no response, hoping that he would fall back asleep from the silence. Unexpectedly, Bakugo pulled her in closer into his chest, and she huddled closer to the warmth emanating from his body. Her figure felt freezing, like she had been dunked into cold water from her memories. The heat was like a radiator for her, and it added a soothing effect to her overrun mind.
Estelle found comfort in the spot she rested at, practically snuggling into his chest. Her eyes were still open as she tried to get over the last hurdle popping up in her mind.
Startled at the fact Bakugo was rubbing her back soothingly, Estelle was internally stunned when the male leaned his head over slightly towards her forehead. Feeling a warmth emanate from the top, Estelle's eyes widened when Bakugo kissed her forehead.
"S'ok. Was just a nightmare. Sleep. M'here. Blow up bad dreams."
Estelle relaxed to the words to her own disbelief. But, honestly, as irrational as it was. It made her feel better. Thanking the blonde in her mind, Estelle snuggled closer to the male, her body resting against his as she wrapped her arms around his waist. She would block this memory from her mind later, but for now, she will allow herself to indulge in the moment of false security.
