Chapter Nineteen
You've Found Your Power!
"A voice you say?" Valerie asked the blonde haired teen, "DA is right i heard it too!" Wanda then added, "Me too!" Phoebe answered, "Me as well!" Keesha then lastly answered. Valerie made a small grouning noice before placing her right pointing finger on her lips. Bike who was still disguised as a pendant around Valerie neck began to light up like it had been listening.
"So you all heard a voice?" Valerie asked in concern and everyone responced with a "Yes Professor Frizzle!". Valerie looked down at her glowing pendant and tells it that it may return to normal now. Suddenly Pendant Bike un-attached itself from Valerie's neck and in a flash it reformed as a normal motor bike. "Hi Bike!" the girls said as they greeted Bike who beeped back saying hello "Well Done Bike!" Valerie says to it.
"This is getting extraordinary!" Valerie says to Bike as she goes over to pet it like it was an animal. "What's going on Professor Frizzle?" DA asks demanding an answer or too. Valerie then smiles and walks toward the 4 girls "I heard the voice too DA and i think the voice was telling us what our source of powers are! It's like a are becoming real fairies!" Valerie says excitedly.
"WHAT?" all four girls answered back in shock, "I never thought Bike would be eligable to be this powerful when it comes to transformations and field trips!" she answered back to them as she looks over back to Bike smiling. Bike smiled back and winked back at Valerie "You mean we might be able to tranform into fairies without the aid of Bike?" asked Wanda.
Valerie's earrings lit up shortly before she answered with a simple "Possibly" before walking away from everyone. "So, the voice you heard, what power do you now have over?" she quickly asked them with her back still turned and her hands behind her back "Follow me please!". The girls wondered why they were still walking, while their old teacher could have demanded Bike to transform into a transport vehicle so they could get back to Alfea quickier or give them their wings back!
Suddenly, Valerie feels a light breeze and then it began to get a little stronger. She stopped to pause and turn around. Valerie then notices Keesha with her hand out pointing towards her. "Keesha? Is...that you...are you creating this breeze?" she asks the cruly-headed girl, Keesha smiles and nods as she answers her question "Guess i am!" while DA, Wanda and Phoebe watched in amazement.
"Oh my! This is exciting! So you have the power of wind?" Valerie asks in question "The voice told me i had the power of weather!" Keesha gratefully tells Valerie as she points her hand towards the the sky. Sparkles appeared from her hand, instinctly clouds began to move to hide the sun and wind began to pick up, "Amazing! But please don't make it rain!" Phoebe cried with excitement with a giggle. Keesha smiled "Don't worry Phoebe!" she simply said while returning the current weather back to normal.
"Phoebe? Have you found your power?" Valerie asks the brown haired girl, Phoebe smiled and had put her hand out. Red coloured sparkles almost like glitter began forming something in her hand. It soon looked like a small heart. "The voice told me i have the power of love or sensations!" Phoebe calmly informed the group. "What a beautiful power Phoebe it suits you!" Valerie simply told her as Wanda, Keesha and DA all nodded and agreed.
Valerie then turned to face the blacked haired Wanda "How about you Wanda?" she asks sweetly. Wanda then closes her eyes and everyone remained slient as they all layed their eyes upon her. Suddenly a rock removes towards the group causing them to jump!. "So your a mind fairy?" DA asks, "Nope an Earth fairy!" Wanda simply answers with a little unsureness in her voice. "You do not wish to be an Earth Fairy?" Valerie asks Wanda in concern, "I'd just thought it wasn't me! Plus it reminds me a lot of Arnold!" Wanda tells the Professor.
Everyone giggled much to Wanda dismay "But i may grow to like it!" Wanda continued. "That's the spirit Wanda!" Valerie shouted in joy for Wanda's dedication. Keesha, Phoebe and DA then brought up the time that Wanda had a crush on Arnold Perlstein back in Elementary School. Wanda got really annoyed and was about to snap at them before Valerie quickly changed the subject.
"Thats enough ladies! Now then lastly but not least DA! You haven't told us your power yet!" she says as she glanced at golden blonde haired girl ,"Oh? Ah...the voice told me that i have the power of space!?" DA nervously answered to the Professor. "Enchanting, what a lovely sounding power DA! Suits you!" Valerie kindly tells DA while placing one hand on the girls shoulder.
DA looks towards the hand and made a smile towards her old teacher "Everything alright Dorothy-Ann? Valerie asks addressing DA by her full first name, "Oh...yes Professor Frizzle, i'm fine, i'm saving my power demonstration for tonight when it gets dark!" DA said as she answered back to her. Without arguement from anyone, everyone agreed that they would wait till this evening for DA's power demonstration "I just want to make sure that what the voice has said to me is true!" DA simply tells everyone.
"This is wonderful news girls!" Valerie excitely says to them before giving each girl a massive hug. They all hugged back. Suddenly, Bike makes a small beep "Oh yes and thank you for your help once again Bike and yes your quite right we really should be getting back!" Valerie says out loud. They all began walking once again with the school gates insight with Bike along side.
Finally, they had returned to the school grounds and entered the courtyard. Valerie suggested that they all take a rest for the rest of the afternoon and take it easy before they meet up again after supper. Then Phoebe wanted to ask her a question "Professor Frizzle! You still haven't told us what your power is?", all the girls agreed as they all asked aswell.
She turns to face them all "Well i'm now a Substance Fairy!" she says cheerfully with a big beaming smile on her face. "A substance fairy?" Wanda asks "What's a substance fairy Professor Frizzle?" then asks DA. Valerie keeps smiling and begins to look around confusing everyone "Ah there!" as she pointed towards a another student who was holding a large history book.
Suddenly, the book lavitated out of the students hands making the student jump. Then the pages started to gentley move around and a homogram appeared before them showing the history from the book like a movie "Guess my power allows me to power up when an object is around esspecially if it involves history or art and poetry, literature or intelligence!" Valerie explained as she made the book return to the student.
After supper that night, they all met up again in the courtyard, Valerie brought along Bike just in case they needed it's assistance who remained in its orginal form. Everyone but DA was present and they all wondered where she had got to "Hey, where did DA go?" Keesha asked, "She was present during supper..." Phoebe answered.
Then they heard someone calling from afar. Everyone including Valerie were looking around to see where the voice was coming from. It was dark and only the lights from inside were seen "Up here!" the voice cried. "Look up there DA, is up there!" Phoebe shouted as she pointed towards one of the schools towers. They all began looking and spotted DA waving from the tower.
"What are you doing up there DA?" Wanda shouted to her, Valerie tapped Wanda on the shoulder "Shhh Wanda, i think DA is about to show us something magificent!" she informs her, Keesha and Phoebe. They all quietend down and waited for DA's show, she was going to show her Space power!. Suddenly there was slient and a pause, Valerie noticed that something wasn't right.
"DA?" she called out "Are you ok?", DA shouted back "I was seeing if i could transform without the aid of Bike but looks like a can't!". Valerie smiled "Don't worry DA, maybe we are not quite real fairies yet! Just show us what magic you have instore for us!" she says while making the girl feel better. A simple "Ok..." could be heard from DA before something amazing happened.
She raised both arms into the air and suddenly the stars in the sky began to move and form a shape "The stars are moving!" Phoebe shouts shortly before Keesha yells out "They are making a shape of a bigger star!". Valerie, Phoebe, Wanda and Keesha all started to appauled DA for showing a beautiful display of space magic. DA then makes the stars return to their orginal placement in the night sky "Your've all found your powers! I knew we all would be able to do it!" Valerie using a motherly tone.
