Chapter 21

Staying Together

"I'll make a call to the Winx and alert them of what's happening!" Valerie heard Tecna say as Faragonda returned to her office from the balcony. "Good Tecna! We need all the help we can get!" Faragonda responded as she quietly walked towards her desk with her hands behind her back. Valerie watched as the Head Mistress sat down and Tecna quickly texting on her cell phone "Head Mistress I..." she began to say shortly before she was cut off by Faragonda.

"We need to keep you safe Valerie!" Faragonda tells her while having her eyes shut and her elbows on the desk with her hands in a together postion. "They will never get their hands on Bike, i'll make sure of it, i am not handing over anything!" Valerie stated to Faragonda confidently, "Yes but the Trix can sometimes be smarter then they look!" Faragonda stated "We need to be careful! I have never lost a staff member during my time at Alfea and today will not be the day!".

Valerie was impressed by Faragonda's statement and felt very appreciated even if she was human with tempory fairy powers. "I want to battle! Since its me that they are after i want to fight for myself and for the whole school!" Valerie shouted quite confidently towards the Head Mistress. Faragonda opened her eyes and looked towards Valerie who was now in front of her with the desk in between.

"Valerie, i admire your confidence and always have since you have arrived at Alfea! As you know you have only been here for a short time but you certainly have made an impact on not only myself but the staff and students" Faragonda began to say "However...". There it was Valerie could sense that there was going to be a however or a but just by observing the womens tone of voice and body language.

"Head Mistress, i know that i have been only been here for a short time and have only come to grips with fairy magic recently but with the help my magic bike and my old students we might have a chance in defeating these awful witches, at least let me try!" Valerie stated to Faragonda who looked shocked to be spoken to like that. Even Tecna looked in shock almost dropping her cell phone to the floor. Valerie didn't know to be worried or to be ready to be on the next bus home for her outburst.

Faragonda closed her eyes again and slowly began to look down with her elbows still on the desk. The room was slient and still until Valerie began to make out a smile from Faragonda "Behind you all the way!" she responded with in delight as it seemed that Faragonda loved Valerie's attitude. Valerie was shocked "So i'm not fired?" she asked the Head Mistress nervously "NO...not today Valerie!" Faragonda tells the now relieved Valerie Frizzle "However, there is something l'd like to suggest to you!".

Valerie sat down in a chair and Tecna decided that it would be a great time to leave the office. "Yes Head Mistress?" Valerie quietly said to Faragonda "My suggestion would be due to the circumstances, that we send your guests back to Earth for their safety before Icy, Darcy and Stormy return this evening!" Faragonda firmly tells Valerie.

Valerie knew that the time for sending them back would come and understood that the Head Mistress was only concerned for their safety, after all they were only just learning how to master their fairy powers. They were only beginner fairies with "L" Plates (not "L" as in for loser but "L" as in for Learner). "Valerie, please think about it? We just do not want harm to come to them!" Faragonda calmly suggests "and i'll be responsible" Valerie quietly whispered to herself. "What's that?" Faragonda asked "Nothing Head Mistress, i'll tell them right away!" Valerie stated to the Head Mistress before getting up from her chair and leaving the room.

"This is bad, bad, bad!" Keesha states, "The Head Mistress suggests we go home now?" DA asks Valerie as all six of them including Goldie sat in the teachers quarters living room. "Yes DA, all transportation devices are now free of dark magic and you all can return to Earth now" Valerie tells everyone, she looked over towards Phoebe who was looking extremely nervous and scared.

She recalled this exact expression when Valerie use to take them all on those Field Trips many years ago. Valerie went over to sit beside her to make her feel calm putting her arm around her shoulders. Goldie then came and sat in Phoebe's lap. Phoebe began to stroke the monkey making her at least bear a small smile. "I want to stay and fight these evil witches! With our new fairy powers and forms we can help fight along aside of you Professor Frizzle! Come on you weasley wimps who's with me! Wanda stated as she stood up from her lounge chair.

Valerie was impressed by Wanda's courage once again. It wasn't along until Keesha and DA followed "Yeah we are not leaving you with this mess!" Keesha says "We will fight to the end!" DA then added. Valerie was overjoyed but noticed Phoebe was still hesitant and remained slient "Phoebe?" Valerie says quietly to the shy girl who was still stroking Goldie.

"Come on Phoebs! We cannot do this with just the 4 of us!" Keesha tells Phoebe who then sits on Phoebe's other side and taking her left hand. Goldie mad a growling noise it was like it knew what Keesha had said. "Sorry Goldie but this is a job for us human/fairy people" Valerie tells the monkey as she picked her up from Phoebe's lap and began to place the animal on her shoulder.

DA then sat on Phoebe's right where Valerie was orginally sitting and grabbed her other hand shortly before she began to speak "Phoebe, we need to do this together when have you ever grown a pair of wings and shoot balls of magic from your hands!", "Yeah Phoebe are you with us? We may never get this opportunity again! Are you in or are you out!" Wanda added using a very firm voice which made Valerie bite her lip. "Never say never Wanda!" Valerie tells Wanda as she pats Wanda on the shoulder.

"Very well your right! We need to fight as a team and stay as a firm! I will not let my nerves over kill me know!" Phoebe says as she stood up quickly, "YAY!" Everyone shouted as they all went in for a group hug. "I'm so proud of you all! I'll immediately go back to Head Mistress Faragonda and explain that you are not going home just yet!" Valerie stated as her earrings lit up.

Valerie headed back to the Head Mistresses office and knocked firmly on the door. Faragonda's voice could be heard with a simple "Come in". "Ah Valerie, have you spoken to your old students?" Faragonda asked gentley and Valerie quickly responded as she sat herself back into the chair that faced the Head Mistress "I've had a word to them and...they wish to stay together and help fight along side everyone!".

Faragonda slowly pushed her glasses up her nose "Are you sure?" she calmly asked her, "Yes Head Mistress, you are stuck with all of us now! Until the end!" Valerie gratefully announced back the the Head Mistress. The Head Mistress got up from her chair and walked towards the window with her hands behind her back "Very well! I understand!" Faragonda answered back firmly along with a small nod.
